I heard the Hong Kong milk tea is super authentic here and was super excited to try it. The interior is pretty simple due to Covid. To the right theres a menu in both Chinese and English and youll order at the counter. Its a bit cheaper compared to the other spots in Chinatown and the milk tea is really good and just like the ones from Hong Kong! Their egg sandwich is super good too because the eggs are always made to order. I prefer cold milk teas, but their hot milk tea is better than their cold ones especially if youre carrying it around and you sip on it all day. The cold milk tea needs a lot of ice and the moment the ice melts, it feels rough on the tongue. The hot milk tea is smooth all the way even when its warm. I highly recommend checking S Wan out for affordable and authentic Hong Kong food!
Hole in the wall semi basement restaurant with some OG HK Cantonese breakfast and dishes. We drop by many Saturdays for breakfast or brunch to go before we drive outside NYC trips. Our tummies are always happy. Their HK milk tea are strong and yummy. Our go to spot and I highly recommend!
Highly recommended if you are looking for a bite to eat, but dont want to fork over a lot. This place sells a lot of comfort food and is very inexpensive, to boot. The seating inside can get very crowded, you may or may not get a spot depending on the time of day. Menu is posted on the wall for convenience. Portions are good for the price in NYC.
Good Hong Kong style breakfast and lunch. There Hong Kong style milk tea is really good. Inexpensive breakfast sets include food and drink is only around $5. Fastfood style store where you buy food at the counter and find your own seat. No need to pay tips. Downside is that it is closed on Sundays.
For a quick bite after a long day of work or school, this family-owned restaurant is where you want to be! The place is not a big fancy restaurant, but good enough for just a sit-down to enjoy your meal and smell the aroma of the grilled pork chops! Yes, pork chops! S. Wan serves Hong Kong style (Cantonese) dishes, which can only be described as simple, quick, and delicious. I can sure tell you that their best sellers are their pork chops over rice and chicken mushroom over rice, respectively. Why is it so good, because of one thing, their sauce! The sauce that they used to glaze their pork chops and chicken mushroom makes everything oh-so-good. It’s hard to resist looking at what others are eating because everything they have on the menu is just pure goodness! Complete your meal with one of their several beverages like their iced cold red bean drink, or with a cup of grass jelly with sweetened milk; it compliments with all the items they have on their menu.
The Hong Kong milk tea is definitely like CRACK. Strong and addictive. MM. Theres not that many places that make tea like this. The food is extraordinary cheap and Ive been here multiple times. Staff are nice and quick, so theres not much of a wait. Theres no table service -- you have to order at the register and clean up after yourself.Theres not much of a seating area, super informal...hole in the wall ftw!
Restaurant is under staffed and rude. Please do not go or support their business. I called to place order, any other restaurant in Chinatown wouldve had it ready. I was patient with the staff for 20 minutes, then asked how much longer? They keep saying almost almost, after 10 minutes, I said really have to go. They gave me the silent treatment, 5 minutes later I told them cancel order, I am never supporting your business again.
A true mom and pop hole in the wall thats small but its clean and pleasant. Plenty of Hong Kong style comfort food. Their stirred-fried beef chow fun (gon chow ow haw) is excellent. French toast is superbly decadent. Pan-fried noodles and sandwiches are great as well. But Im really addicted to their Hong Kong style tea with milk. Its probably the best HK style tea on this hemisphere.
I placed an order through the phone and after 20 mins, I came to get my order. When i entered the store, the employees were yelling at customers and the kitchen wasn’t coordinated at all. I waited 5 mins to get noticed by the cashier and even then they said that my order hasn’t even been prepared. i waited for another 15 min for my food.

2022-06-06Most authentic Hong Kong style fast food cafe in the U.S., HK-style milk tea is a must-order, their tea blend is both very aromatic and flavorful made from different kinds of Sri Lanka black tea leaves. Fried rice and fried macaroni or rice vermicelli are among the most popular & heartfelt dishes, prices are amazingly affordable too! Hope this place will live long and stay prosperous, as well as the staffs running it

2022-05-12The Chinese breakfast set is more than enough food for one meal. The congee has chicken liver fyi and the fried rice noodle roll is topped with hoisin sauce. Definitely a place that locals go to

2022-09-06Food is so affordable 😋 it unreal. I travel from Time Square to Chinatown just to get this for lunch. Every time I make the trip all my coworker ask me to bring back an order for them. End up ordering 10+ order every trip.

2022-02-25Its definitely a hit or miss. The prices are amazingly cheap. I decided to get the curry fish balls with noodles alongside the famous milk tea!! The milk tea was a bit too strong for my taste and the fish balls were decent. I would definitely come back to try out other things on the menu tho 🤗

2018-09-03Hole in the wall HK style Café. Their HK style milk tea is spot on with the locals and their simple menu satisfies your every HK Café cravings. Better known for their take outs than sit in but if you must sit in, be ready to fight for every table and seat as people will not ask but simply take if you did not save it first. Things move very quickly here so be prepare to have a local order for you and try to leave unscathed by the sudden crowds of people!

We got the fried noodle roll and a hot milk tea and the food and drink as well as the service were absolutely amazing!
