Good luck getting help or someone on the phone. I waited on hold for about 1/2 hour before taking them up on their offer to call me back in 50 minutes. It took them over 2 hours. I missed the call and they texted me to say they called and to click the link to get another call back... The wait on that request? 1hour and 15 min. One time I waited 1 hour and 37 minutes before I had to hang up just to try and change the date to pickup my container. Why? They tell you that you can use their website to schedule but their website had no availability for a month. Why should I have to pay for another month because theyre too busy? I didnt wait until the last minute either, I was over a week out from my next monthly payment. However, when I did eventually get through, the lady was pleasant... not much consolation for the headache. Now, for some reason my bill went up almost $70 for the month. I have to contact them again... decided to use their chat function... been waiting a while for someone to come on the chat that it prompted me to write this while waiting... response time? I cant say. The website logged me off for inactivity before they ever came on the chat. Oh, the irony. Sigh
The absolute worst customer service ever! I paid an extra fee for AM delivery, NEVER SHOWED UP. I’ve called 8 times and I was given 5 different times for delivery. The last time I called I was on hold for 30 minutes! And guess what I was told… the pod would arrive latest by 11pm if anything. Are you kidding me?! Had to cancel my entire order. I will never recommend anyone to this company nor use them ever again! Absolutely unprofessional and horrible customer service!!
Literally committed fraud on my account stealing money from my said after said account was closed only to find out months later when my accountant reached out and asked why I was still paying for units. I then called more than once to get it sorted out with the company and apparently for months “the system is down” I’ve tired every possible way to come to a fair solution with this company. It’s sad that a company I’ve done much business with over the years fall to such a low level. Even their employees recommend I make a report with my bank as a only solution for reimbursement.
I used 1-800-Pack-Rat because they have all metal containers. I am moving out of state(NY) and couldnt be happier with the professionalism and understanding of this company. They worked with my schedule and kept in touch with me and I with them. I worked with Ginger who is an absolute angel and she kept me calm and was the original contact I had with the company - besides being professional she was friendly and I felt like I was dealing with a long time friend. The containers arrived on time each day - due to my circumstances they arrived on three different days(when one was filled they would pick that one up and drop off another one). The furniture blankets were perfect and clean. The locks were amazing(they come with 3 keys). The driver who dropped off the containers was great again professional yet friendly. The manager from the the container location was also fantastic - I got a call from him verifying the delivery of the containers and a call from the driver who called to let me know about when he was going to arrive. I cant say enough good things about this company - they patiently worked with me and my needs and everyone I spoke to professional, friendly and caring and lessened a lot of the stress of moving for me. I highly recommend them - prices are extremely reasonable. My containers are being stored in the state I am moving to in a climate controlled building which I love.
Our charity had an appointment today and no one showed up or called now an entire household is outside under tarps. Your customer service is horrendous, quick to take our money...We cant even use the website to cancel the order! We want an IMMEDIATE REFUND! I will be contacting the BBB and the attorney general along with leaving reviews anywhere I possibly can!
A portable storage container was dropped off and was supposed to be picked up the same day. Driver never showed to come pick it back up. It’s been five days, still no word and customer service keeps saying someone will be coming each day but they haven’t come back to get the container. I need to get my stuff across country! If I can’t rely on you to come pick up my full container how can I rely on you to drop it off 3,000 miles away. On top of that, I’m now being fined by my village for having the container on the street. I’m ready to unload my belongings and have a tow company take this thing away.
With the recent state of the world it is understandable that some business services are overwhelmed and struggling to keep up, butthis by far is the worst managed company that I have ever dealt with.From their customer care agents to their local delivery facilities.I simply booked a storage container, they could not get it to me for aweek and a half, they are very busy. They couldnt give me a time framefor the day of delivery so I had to take off from work. Around 12 noon the day of delivery I called to see if I could get a time frame, they finally picked up after a 30 minute hold time, and then told me they werent coming for another 3 days. They claimedthey sent me an email regarding this but it did not happen.Infuriated I canceled, and booked with PODS, they are deliveringin a few days. Being overwhelmed with work is one thing but if you cant manage to contact a customer the day before to tell them you are not delivering is a pathetic management mistake...….. Stay away from this company. They truly are RATS...…………..
Initial appointment was easy to make. Container was in decent shape, obviously these things will take some cosmetic lumps! However the one thing that bothered me was the daylight showing through a hole in the roof... I was very concerned for a heavy rain to ruin my furniture. The move to the new home took a greater amount of days than expected, but was OK. The final pickup appointment was made via phone, but was never completed. Pack-Rat lost the info and never entered it into the companies calendar... We re-scheduled together and the container was picked up over a week late. However the company was easy to work with, regarding NOT charging me for a 2nd month, due to their error in missing the pickup appointment. Overall a 5 our of 10. I would use packrat if I absolutely needed help, but would also consider trying a competitor.
I would give zero stars if I could, a driver for 1-800-PackRat ripped the electrical service off of my clients house while picking up a container across the street. My company restored temporary power for him after hours on a Friday and the following week replaced the service on the outside of his house as the meter main was bent. The work was done on 8/9/19 and to date we have still not received payment for the work we did. The claims department is impossible to get in touch with, they never answer the phone and they do not reply to emails anymore after telling us they were going to get it taken care of right away. Our customer was told that the driver who caused the damage to his house had multiple accidents and situations similar to the one that our client was dealing with and obviously they had done nothing about it as it is still happening. At this point we are going to have to take them to small claims court in order to try to get paid back.
We were moving from our family home on LI to our new home in Myrtle Beach. After getting several estimates from truck rental companies to drive and move ourselves, we decided to call container companies. We chose 1-800-Pack Rat. The price for their service was significantly less than the others! But affordability was just one of the best reasons to use them. Every associate we spoke with at 1-800-Pack Rat was personable and provided immediate attention. I received confirmation calls and emails from the reps and the LDMs (Long Distance Movers) all throughout the process This level of customer service was important to us in order to trust a company to move our precious belongings. The containers arrived as scheduled and we had sufficient time to fill and empty them. There were plenty of packing blankets and the lock was secure. The best part about this emotional move, was that, thanks to 1-800-Pack Rat, all of our treasures arrived intact and ready to begin a new life in a different location. I would heartily recommend 1-800-Pack Rat! It is a company that provides a trustworthy service with personable customer service!
If I could give zero stars I would! This company’s customer service is HORRIBLE! Their communication is the worst!! My order which was placed on 7/8/20 for a 16 foot container to be delivered on 7/16 anytime never arrived! I had contacted the company on 7/15 early to ask to switch to an AM guarantee delivery , they did it and said I was supposed to get an HOUR delivery Courtesy call- 12 pm comes and I have never even received the call which means they weren’t coming anytime soon... called the company again 2 more times , waiting on hold for over 30 minutes at a time all to be told the same thing that I will be given a call an hour before delivery. 5pm comes and I get a TEXT message from Anthony who supposedly is the operations manager for Long Island telling new that my order will not be delivered today due to the driver calling out sick. I had expressed my frustrations and it basically didn’t matter and he kept stating that it was the sales fault and that they are based in NC and they don’t communicate to him to see if the orders can be accommodated. He said he was down to ONE DRIVER.... I said 1 driver for all of Long Island? Yup! Well right there was a red flag- I ordered this container on 7/8!!! He said he wasn’t notified of my order until the morning of 7/16 ( the day it was supposed to be delivered!!!) anthony texted me back it would get to me first thing in the morning. I asked a time he said by 7:30am.... well now it is 7:30am on 7/17 and I still have never received an hour COURTESY CALL AS THEY KEPT REPEATING ! I text him back to follow up and sure enough he doesn’t respond!! To say I am furiated is an understatement!!NEVER AGAIN AND I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THis company AT ALL!! Do NOT USE!!!!
The worst customer service I have ever received Ordered a 16 ft container to be delivered and never showed up Made several phone calls only to be told they could not get in touch with local facility for 2 days (Hauppauge NY) I was handed over to one of the most incompetent managers named Rene. She assured me she would be dilligent and return my phone call within 2 hours which to no surprise wasnt done !! Her solution and obnoxious reply was what would you like me to do carry it to your house myself and asked if I thought I was her only customer. I then became even more frustrated and asked to speak to a supervisor above her She flat out told me I was not going to speak to anyone above her in reference to a delivery concern. I started to continue the conversationand she hung up on me Wouldnt recommend to anyone ever BEWARE !!!!
TERRIBLE! AVOID! I ordered a container from 1800packrat to help move furniture from our old home to our new home (which are about 6 miles apart). I contacted them once we had a closing date to schedule a day to move the container to our new home. Well, 1800packrat REFUSES to move my container until 8 days after the closing because they dont want to exceed their miles per day. I have never dealt with such terrible customer service before. If they are not able to accommodate 7 days notice, they shouldnt be in this business. I will be taking them to court for the money I now have to pay the new buyers to store the container on their property for 8 days.FOR THE RECORD -- 1800 PACKRAT REPLIED TO THIS REVIEW STATING THAT ITS Resolution Team has spoken with [me] regarding the delayed pickup and it has been resolved BUT THAT IS A COMPLETE LIE -- 1800PACKRAT HAS NEITHER RESOLVED THIS PROBLEM NOR REACHED OUT TO ME TO DISCUSS IT. From the minute I contacted 1-800-Pack-Rat until I received my container (a move from Long Island to NC) the entire process could not have been smoother or more courteous. Everyone with whom I transacted was professional, knowledable, and very helpful. They arrived exactly when they said they would (with a call-ahead!), and made sure I had a smooth move. All of my contents were safe and secure...Perfection!
Ordered a 12ft container, they brought a 16ft and said thats all they had. Called to complain about the wrong size and the lady tells me theres no proof I ordered a 12ft although the receipt says 12ft. I explained how I measured it out so I can fit a dumpster in my driveway as well due to construction and she said someone will get back to me. Its been 4 days and I call everyday with no answer. Now the dumpster is on my front lawn because due to town restrictions I cannot have it in the street. If they brought the 12ft there would be no issues. I cant stop construction and wait for them to swap out. I would never recommend or use this company again.*** They have not reached out to me, they LIE they SUCK!!!
This company is horrible. My pod was never delivered on my scheduled date which screwed up my movers scheduling to bring everything in my house. Then they never came and got my pod on the scheduled date and the rep said they weren’t even aware I had my pod. Geez 🙄Now I’m still waiting for my pod to be picked up. Def deserve money back for all their screw ups.
Great customer service from my first contact all the way through my finally delivery. The driver waited patiently for 30 minutes while my pod was emptied by my friends and I. I had to access my pod while in the warehouse. I called and scheduled and appointment, I arrived and my pod was waiting for me. Could not be happier with the service.

2022-06-19Totally Unreliable. Had a storage container booked well in advance. We reconfirmed the delivery the day before and morning of. They gave us a time window of 8am -10pm, and then after waiting all day we received an email with no explanation, changing the date to two days later. Totally unprofessional and unacceptable. One of our family members had come back from Boston to help pack it- all for nothing. There was no number to call the local dispatch office directly, and we just had to deal the the 800 no., which was useless to us, and they could neither offer any help, explanation or solution. Read the other reviews that complain about what is clearly a pattern. We certainly wish we had. Quite pathetic !

2022-02-07Buyer Beware. We booked a container on 1/21/22 for 1/28/22. I got a confirming email that the container would be delivered on 1/28 22. I confirmed the delivery of the container on 1/27/22 (no problems).On 1/28/22 I reconfirmed in the morning. (No Problem). I was told the container could be delivered up until 11PM and that I would be notified an Hour before. By 2PM was getting nervous so I called again to reconfirm. I was told that the delivery date was moved to 1/31/22. I went ballistic. Mind you no one called me with this information. 1/31/22 was worthless to me. I asked to speak to a supervisor who proceeded to tell me she didnt know what happened. I was beside myself at this point but I know this is not her fault so I tempered my response. This is a management issue and we cannot take this out on employees of a badly run company. The supervisor told me she needed to find out what happened. I told her I would stay on the line. She informed me that she is required to email the facility to get an answer. Do you believe this? In the end no one called me back. I advise you to look elsewhere for this service. you dont know if they will ever show up. Now I know what kind of response this review will get. Owner: Im sorry this happened to you...Bla...Bla...Bla. Again, Buyer beware.Update: I got a response from The Owner. It said they were sorry that all this happened and they blamed the weather. Dont be misled. The weather event they are referring to happened on a Saturday. My container was supposed to be delivered on Friday. There was no problem with the weather on the day they were supposed to deliver the container. How about a little sincerity.

2022-05-22I booked a container to be delivered through this company for Friday May 20. I didn’t receive any phone calls that the container was being delivered so I went online to check the status of the delivery and it was showing the container to be coming Saturday. No phone calls no communication. When I called the number they told me the truck had broken down and was rescheduled for the next day. If I had’nt called them I never would’ve known this. Fast forward to Saturday the 21st. Again by 3 PM no phone calls to confirm delivery so called them. A “five minute hold was actually 40 minutes after which the gentleman told me that he confirmed that the container was actually on schedule to be delivered. Now 830 at night, called again and actually got a very helpful woman on the phone that now said that there was no response from the local delivery center and could not confirm whether or not the pod was being delivered. A supervisor called back at 10 PM and all he could say was I’m sorry. I was scheduled to have movers coming at 7 AM Monday the 23rd with no container on my driveway and luckily was able to secure one from a competitor who was much more responsive to my concerns. I would avoid this company like the plague!

2022-07-10Pack rat was unresponsive picking up my unit. It was sitting parked on my driveway for an extra month because I was 100 miles from them and therefore couldn’t easily get in their schedule. They had no problem dropping the unit off when I needed though! I wouldn’t use them again. Customer service people very nice, but very frustrating looking at unit for that extra month.

2022-08-08How do I leave negative review, no way to speak with a real person, paid extra for an AM delivery. Have a window of 8-12. No phone call no nothing. Unable to get in contact with any real person to give me any info, website is useless. What a terrible way to run a business.

2022-08-04On July 26th, 2022, one of their drivers picked up the empty containers from my property. During that time, they somehow ripped off an important cable wire from my house that is attached to the wires from the telephone line. This impacted my internet connection. They were apparently aware that they tore away the cable wire because they wrapped one around my next door neighbors tree. The other wire that was attached to the house was left hanging and exposed. See photos.Furthermore, they failed to notify me that this occurred. If I had not found this before my young children (ages 1 and 6), this could have led to a serious injury.Needless to say, I am extremely dissatisfied with their services.Not only did they fail to comply with the schedule you agreed to on 3 out of the 4 pickup and delivery times, they caused noise disturbance my neighbors during a 4am delivery time _outside_ of the M-F timeframe, made us reschedule our movers on both ends, disrupted both me and my husbands work schedules (we both work from home) due to lack of internet services, and most of all, they put my family in danger.I have reached out to 1800PACKRAT regarding my concerns, provided them these pictures and more, filed a claim, etc. I have followed up multiple times. Aside from refunding a mere $50 for each time they were late they simply did not care to address any of my other grievances.I moved from California to New York, which is not a small move and not cheap. They are in the business of ensuring safe, dependable services for families and instead have left me scrambling, starting on the wrong foot with my neighbors, and putting my family in danger.Do not hire 1800PACKRAT for your move.

2022-02-01The only reason I chose PACK RAT was because their prices were more affordable than their competitors’. Since I don’t own anything that’s particularly expensive, and I don’t have a ton of extra money to spend, I didn’t mind sacrificing value for affordability.That said, they ended up being far more careful and efficient than anyone I worked with in the past. Needless to say, I was impressed. I didn’t expect them to be as professional as they were, but they did a fantastic job from start to finish.

2021-11-02Poor customer service. Trying to cancel an order of a storage container coming to my home. When you call they are immediately available to place an order, but once you mention this is to cancel an existing order before delivery - for refund, they tell you that is another dept. and bury you on hold for at least an hour. They are hoping you hang up so you have the container delivered anyway. I will now have to cancel transaction through credit card company. Not an experience I expected and will advise to others not to use this company.
