My husband and I love living here! The building is vintage, but very beautiful and clean, the staff is very very friendly, the amenities are the best, and the apartment is very spacious and cute. We live in a studio but hope to move to the 1 bedroom soon!

Lived here for a brief time period, but the experience was excellent. Stephanie in the leasing office was incredibly accommodating. Nice quiet community and quick service on maintenance requests. If I didnt need relocate for a job, I wouldve loved to live here longer.

My husband and I have lived here for two years. Stephanie has been absolutely incredible, she is always so quick to remedy any problems and very easy to communicate with. This has been the best complex Ive ever had the privilege to stay at, and look forward to living here as long as I can!

We recently located from out of state and seemed to just not be having much luck with our apartment search. Once I discovered 1600 East Avenue Apartments, I was thrilled. I have now since been a resident for 3 months and have loved it here! The concierge is great (I love seeing them outside, talking to residents and helping some of our elderly residents to their car or with their groceries - they make sure our packages are delivered to our door in case we dont make it to the mailboxes that day), the leasing office has always been pleasant in my experience - anytime I have had a questions, or an issue with the apartment, they answer quickly and send maintenance on the issue right away! I will note that while we have had an overall positive experience with maintenance, when we moved in our blinds were not the best. They broke quickly and when maintenance came to fix them, they placed a new set and we came home to one missing blind on the new set so - not too sure how that happened but Im personally not going to make a big deal. The grounds are otherwise quiet - since living here 3 months, I have heard my upstairs neighbors twice with little stomping but it stopped quickly. I feel extremely safe here which is such a relief being new to the area. The concierge does not even allow the pizza man to come to our door without checking with us first via phone call or knocking on the door. The overall grounds are beautiful. We have yet to experience our first winter with the complex so, snow removal will be interesting! I will note that the parking has been a disaster lately. I come home from my shifts around 8 pm and all the parking spaces are filled, but the complex has quickly addressed it and let their residents know that they are attempting to find a solution to help with this issue. Otherwise, I have been really happy here at 1600 Apartments. My family and friends love visiting and personally, I have not felt like I was overpaying for the great amenities considered (i.e our library, in house laundry facilities, game rooms, movie rooms). Plus, majority of my utilities are included in my rent, plus I have free basic cable here which is great. Utility money can quickly add up and I havent felt like I was overpaying at all. Now, I am hopeful that my rent does not increase if I decide to stay for an additional year - this will probably be a breaker for us but, for now, we will enjoy our home!

Been living at 1600 East Ave for 6 months now. My apartment hunt in Rochester was long and thorough before moving into the city, and based a lot on Google reviews since I did not know the city at all. I cannot say how happy I am that I chose this place!I love everything about the building- I have a spacious apartment with a beautiful view, parking, and more amenities in the building than I could ever have imagined possible (pool table, board games, mini library, indoor garden, gym, etc.). On top of that, the 1600 East Ave community is great- popcorn and movies in the movie room twice a week anyone?Location is ideal- close to Wegmans, liquor store, gas station, restaurants, and just far enough from downtown that it is more peaceful. Do yourself a favor and try this place- you may not want to leave.

Lived here for almost four years, had the best experience. The management team is super organized, efficient, and really care about their residents. Neighbors are nice and this place really felt like a close-knit community.

We had the privilege of living at 1600 East Ave for two years. During that time we experienced nothing but great service and a high quality of living. From the grounds crew to the maintenance team to the concierges and office staff everyone pays attention to detail and strives to provide an exceptional level of service. The amenities are great. The gym is a bit outdated but it certainly is perfect for a run on a treadmill when it’s raining out or you don’t feel like going to your regular gym. There is a billiard room with a great pool table. It’s a great place to have a few friends over and run the table over a couple of drinks. The awesome meeting/party space gives extra room when you want to have more than a few people over. A larger family dinner or birthday party can be held and the large kitchen on the Club Level makes entertaining outside of your apartment very easy. And the grills...they’re new and bigger than the ones that were replaced!! Four burners AND a side burner!!I could go on and on. It’s worth the extra money that you may spend elsewhere. The ONLY thing to be aware of are the trains and the snow removal that occurs at the many business parking lots in the winter on the University Ave side. Of course the snow removal occurs during the night especially at Harris. When there’s lots of snow there’s lots of beeping an banging when they are clearing the lot. It’s not just the plowing, but it’s the removal when they bring in dump trucks and such to remove the tall piles. They do it late LATE at night. That, combined with trains that come through blaring whistles at all hours, If you’re a light sleeper it’s not optimal. So just be aware of your options include University facing apartments. Ear plugs and fans have mitigated it for us. But if you’re a dead to the world sleeper then you’re good. Really, in the end, it shouldn’t be a deal breaker; again, just be aware. You won’t go wrong with living here.

I’m giving this complex five stars out of respect that I’m a tenant but just want want to let everyone know YES it’s a beautiful location and building BUT every day that you walk through the building you get smacked with the hard realization that this place is a nursing home. It’s FILLED with angry very old people, literally filled. And yes, they will all give you attitude as if your in THEIR home.

This is a very nice place to live. My wife and I are always at our friends apartment here. The is view beautiful and you always get a New York City feel because it is close to a busy street ,East Avenue, and there are many family own business, cafes, and restaurants all at a walking distance which makes things much easier.

I does look like a nice place to live. Well-kept grounds in a park-like setting. Check out the big horse in front.
