Came here for brunch when we visited finger lakes for the weekend. The environment and atmosphere were amazing. Beautiful outdoor seating and views. The service was great and the price was reasonable for the whole package ( food, service, environment etc.). Our group ordered the eggs Benedict, fries, sandwiches, omelette, and avocado toast. Loved everything but the avocado toast, the bread was soggy and soaked with butter and juice from the topping. It would be great if there was more avocado on the bread than the other stuff. Wish I took photos of the food. They looked delicious. Overall great experience though!
This is one of only a few restaurants in the Aurora, NY area. It is inside the main Aurora Inn. We asked for an earlier dining time that what we had booked and they were very helpful in accommodating that for us. We dined outside and had a decent view of the lake. We were watching the sunset earlier so it was pretty dark when we ate. I only wished that they had some more lighting outside by the table we ate at. The food was good, the steak tasted really good. Same with the chowder. The drinks were very good as well.
We started at the bar before our reservation and was greeted by bartender, Murad who was upbeat and was serving a full bar of patrons enthusiastically and efficiency. He made our time at the bar before our meal extremely enjoyable. We both had the Steak Bistro entrée which was tender, perfectly cooked and seasoned with a delicious chimichurri sauce. Our server Dana, was pleasant and attentive to us for our special occasion celebration. In summary, the staff, from the hostess station, to the bar, to the service, to the food made our celebration complete. Thank you!
The food and ambience was simply spectacular, but I took away at least one star for the mere fact that they did nothing to honor our special celebration that we chose to celebrate here. It was very hard to see another table being celebrated while they didnt even acknowledge my husband and I celebrating my birthday during this difficult time. Even thought it was mentioned in both the reservation my husband made it known to the front of desk person as well upon our arrival. This is just simply a quality that any dignified establishment with quality customer service must have. Bit disappointing :-/
We visited 1833 in early December for breakfast. There were 17 of us (including 8 children)! We had an absolutely wonderful experience! The wait staff was amazing and the food was excellent. The children loved the sour cream pancakes and French toast. The adults had the crab cakes Benedict and the steak and eggs among other menu items and everyone was very pleased. we will definitely return!
Just spent the weekend at the Inns of Aurora and enjoyed all our meals during our stay. We started with a lovely lunch served outdoors. We elected to eat our dinner indoors and enjoyed watching the lovely sunset. Our dinner incorporated great local ingredients. (they even sweetly acknowledged our anniversary at dinner :- ) We finished up with a delicious and filling breakfast. All our meals were excellent and all our servers were wonderful too. Loved staying at the Inns of Aurora and all our meals at the 1833 Kitchen and Bar were very much enjoyed - thanks so much for the great meals and great service!
They say that Paris is a movable feast, but so is the Aurora inn 1833! With the pandemic and the lack of travel to Aurora, Sean and his sous chefs have taken the restaurant on the road and bring the feast to you. Recently theyve been advertising that they will deliver fully cooked meals all about the Central New York area, and we opted to get the works delivered to us in Skaneateles on May 2nd. They did a fantastic job complete with a really good charcuterie board, an excellent dry Riesling,, local craft beer, delicious and hearty salads with the really unique and delicious dressing, as well as paella that you would think came straight from Valencia it was so authentic. I had pot roast and the scalloped potatoes which were fantastic and way better than what you get at the Sherwood Inn. And the bread pudding desserts were very very good. All of this food for under hundred dollars. I couldnt believe the value and it was delivered! And to top things off, they were so appreciative that we showed up and bought it after they had slaved over hot stoves for hours. They made us feel like the most special customers theyve ever had. So off we went with the food and enjoyed it very much. No cleanup, no crowds. Honestly you cant beat it. I give it six stars if I could. William
The wife & I were up to the Finger Lakes Region on a little getaway this past weekend. We always do the same restaurant but this time I wanted to take her somewhere different. I set up a RSVP on-line and received a text confirming the day before our reservation and time. My wife had a salad and the Scallop entrée which she said both of them were really good. I had the Seafood Chowder and the Duck Breast. OMFG!!!!!! The Chowder was amazing it came in this little kettle thing and was out of full of seafood (shrimp, scallops, crab, lobster). The Duck breast was awesome. Everything on my plate was phenomenal from the Duck to the Brussel Sprouts. Somehow we managed to have desert which again was very good. Next time my wife and I are in the finger lakes we will definitely be coming here for dinner. Next time I think we are gonna try and come up in the summer and sit outside with a view of the lake while we have dinner. Staff was great all were very nice

2022-01-29We had a great seating outside at sunset and it did not disappoint. The staff was shorthanded and still provided great servive. The food and drinks were up to everyones expectations. Alex was on point with service throughout the meal. This is our second dinning experience here and I highly recommend this place.

2021-07-12Had a wonderful birthday celebration for my fiancée and two friends here. Every member of the staff was extremely friendly and welcoming, with several remembering it was a birthday and giving their best wishes (along with a candle in the dessert). The interior is beautiful and cozy, and the food was incredible - we loved everything from the bread and the brie appetizer special to the mains and dessert. I would highly recommend for a nice evening out!

2020-11-23We had dinner on a Thursday evening and the only thing different from a normal dinner was that the staff was wearing face coverings, but other than that, it started as a normal dining experience.... and then we had our server show up with amazing warm bread and a caramel butter that was incredible - I could have made a meal out of that - glad I didnt because our meal was the Grilled Bistro Steak, which my friend just loved, the potatoes were crispy and perfect. I had the special with was a bone in chicken with a creamy sauce and carrots in a sweet glaze that were tender and perfect and a cornbread stuffing that rivals Thanksgiving! For dessert, we ordered the apple ganette (basically a tart, but oh so much more than a simple tart!) with a vanilla ice cream and a raspberry glaze... We were happy and stuffed! The service was amazing, the restaurant was socially spaced out, we sat by the fire (and the bar) with a beautiful view of the lake out the back patio which was lit up with firefly lights. Beautiful meal in a beautiful setting with amazing service. And then we came back on Saturday morning for brunch. We sat in the same space, by the fire place, now the bright sunlight glistening off the Lakes water. We split the Applewood Smoked Bacon Omelet, with a creamy swiss cheese and tender mushrooms, plus a melt-in-you-mouth hash brown side and an English muffin. Then we also ordered the French toast and I thought I knew what French toast was, but this thing was not what I imagined - it was oh so much more than that. It was more like a cake in its thickness and it was covered in a maple cream cheese, with a cranberry compote; they included a side of maple syrup but it was not needed - this was a thing of beauty and it melted in your mouth! We didnt need to eat again until dinner! The service, again, superb. Will definite visit again and most definitely dine here again!

2022-05-19The atmosphere, service, location and food was wonderful. We were so happy they could accommodate specific allergies. They were even nice enough to give us their butter to bring home.

2020-07-13Excellent food, ran about 95 for 2 and a glass of wine. Nice lake view. Dont drink any water type beverages or ice. Heavy bromide type taste. View of the lake from the bottom of the property is awesome.

2020-01-19Very romantic and luxurious restaurant with kind staff and delicious food. There is plenty of seafood and non seafood options with an extensive cocktail and wine list. Highly recommend especially if staying at the Inns of Aurora

2021-06-24Stunning location and atmosphere. Great staff and service too. Still, I will give only 3 stars because of the food.. nice presentation and perfect ingredients too. But they put too much salt on most of dishes. It was like they sprinkled handful of rock salt on every beautifully prepared dishes at the very end.. I could actually bite on rock salt. Some of dishes were inedible because too salty. I didn’t want to complaint at the table but I really hope they will realize this problem… because everything else was superb otherwise.

2021-05-31Faroe Island Salmon was delicious!! Slightly crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The staff here is exceptional as well - food was delivered at the perfect intervals between courses. Iced tea was also fantastic - don’t know why it’s hard for so many restaurants to get this right. We’ll be back!

2021-05-30We held a Cornell graduation dinner for 12 at the restaurant on Memorial Day weekend. We were seated in a beautiful front parlor at the Inn. The managers Bernard & Ben attended to every detail. The service was impeccable and clearly the staff has been well trained to provide a special evening for their guests. Absolutely the best experience.
