Its always dirty you see various people doing things that they aint supposed too. Police are very limited stay thats no good Im sure they clean but sanitation dont be on top of it. Be very careful subways aways crowded.

So many people enter this station and dont pay their fare, and keep in mind theres a Police Station right upstairs. People open the emergency door and they just walk in. Its not fair to people that do pay their fare. Whats worse is when someone doesnt pay their fare and then they have the nerve to complain about poor service.

Small station Bronx have train 6. Its an important communication in this area because this only station to Manhattan. Station is little messy. There are some buses out side. Few entrance gate, one I found. I dont see any staff on site. Train goes both way, Manhattan and st Park cheater, Bronx.

Need some serious attention and repair. A little cleaning would also help. I think Ive seen this station be clean once at 10 in the morning . Rush hour is always crazy and delays always happen. But the worst is late night when the schedule is never as posted online or on boarding signs in station. This station also needs a much-needed handicap elevator for people in wheelchairs.late night works in the both are never willing to help you when the machines are not working. I seen some of them asleep or they go the side room for hours ( pretending there in the bathroom) . Some of the columns are so oxidized from the bottom ,that it looks unsafe . You can smell the urin on some of them .

138st 3rd ave is the first stop in the Bronx for the number 6 train. located at 138st Alexander ave. under the 40th precinct(police station). this subway station is old and is in need of a major renovation(one that says welcome to the Bronx) the station offers a 24 hour full service manned token booth and a second with no token booth (metro card purchase machines only) entrance at 138st and 3rd ave. this station never really looks clean or safe. this not a wheelchair accessible station no elevators and steep steps.very cold in the winter.very hot in the summer. Pay your fare. 85% of the time there are plain clothes cops or a uniformed transit cop here.there estimate time if arrival boards here. this station has a subway store vendor booth where you can buy newspapers, snacks, beverages and other convienant miscellaneous items. the owner is very friendly.

This station is really long so it doesnt often fill up. This is the last stop in the Bronx however before crossing into Manhattan so theres a chance that youll catch a fully packed train.

The station HAS seen maintenance recently, as a matter of fact there were signs posted about two years ago that said 4 million dollars were spent in upgrades. As I remember it was four, could have been three. But all I saw was painting on part of the ceiling in the southbound track. Where did that money go? Lets say you have 1,000 people a day going to Manhattan or Brooklyn (one way in this station) that are paying $2.75 then thats $82,500 a month. Where does this money go? Thats one station, one way and we all know that 1,000 ppl is a lowball estimate. We also constantly see signs that say wet paint on crusty, rusty support beams and you can CLEARLY see that it hasnt been painted. I posted this on FB with a photo and everybody laughed. It would also help if the workers in the booth were friendly and do something about the many many teens and people with 8 children that jump the entrance.Im glad its here and convenient, but I wish there was some competition for subway travel. Maybe then they would get their act together.

3rd Avenue-138th Street is located in the Mott Haven section and is served by the (6) Slow Services and Fast Services. Being in a unsafe neighbourhood 138th Street is not a station I suggest using another station or the bus instead.
