This little vintage place is a lovely find!We moved in the area and was surprised to find this little cozy eatery which reminds me of a vintage diner!Everything they cook is tasty and their prices are phenomenal! You could seat by the window and watch people go by, or the rain/snow coming down while you eat.The service is also pleasant and the waiters are always willing to make your order exactly as you’d like it!I like their Philly Steak as well as their burgers and their Greek chicken “souvlaki” pita sandwich tell them to make the pita well done if you decide to get the Souvlaki and add extra tzatziki ( yogurt garlic sauce)I highly recommend this place for a fast good choice of good old, comfort diner food!My husband and I enjoy it at least twice a month .Enjoy!☕️🫖🍩🧁🥗🥞🍳🍞🥯🥩🥚🍗🍔🥪🍟🥧🍰🧋🥤
Friendly atmosphere. Excellent service. They have an extensive menu and serve excessively large portions inexpensively. The food is acceptable, but not great. (I think if the menu variety and portions were less ambitious they could offer better quality. Its a tradeoff.)
Never again! Ordered fried chicken tenders as we see them taken out of the microwave and serve them to us. Waitress said they fried them first and then they put them in the microwave. Why?! Then we ordered a Welch’s grape juice in a bottle and it expired in 2019. How could they not check the expiration of the products they sell? Disgusted!
One of the waitresses ate one of my fries from my plate in front of me and then charged me more than the usual price and didn’t even excuse herself. A different time, one of the waiters went through my friends belongings when she was in the bathroom and thought it was funny. That same waiter grabbed my friend’s arm against her will which was very inappropriate behavior for a waiter. Their food is always very greasy and does not taste very good. U do not recommend this diner.
Pastrami and Swiss w/lettuce, tomatoes, mayo & mustard on rye toast 😋 & a pickle on the side ,so yummy! I didnt like the coleslaw though 🙄 and the CAKE slices!! 🤐 Lets just say, I wont order any dessert from here again. Cake was cold and veryyyyyy dry. Almost ,like it was old. I thought wed have some in honor of my late sisters birthday 3/20/21. Wasnt a good move 👎
When I entered the place the younger woman was pleasant. Then the service went downhill. The older woman asked me what I wanted without giving me the menu. When she brought the menu to the table she threw it down on the opposite side of the tableShe gave no eye contact it was very abrupt. The very disconcerting and unsanitary situation occurred when this very same woman sneezed twice without covering and coughing behind the counter.I did not leave a tip poor very poor service. When I returned to the hotel where I am staying I reported the entire situation to the staff member. This restaurant is not on their list of restaurants to go to when in their hotel
I have been coming to this diner with my son for years. The staff is friendly. The food is good and the prices are way better than any of the other Upper East Side diners. Love the fresh flowers on the table, and sometimes the owner serves vegetables from his garden. All good. :)
Ordered a full meal with soup and dessert. It was a cold rainy day so I expected to wait and wait for the delivery. Surprise!!! The very nice gentleman on the phone said 10 - 15 minutes and sure enough, the food arrived just as he said. Dont know if it a hunger factor, but the meal was delicious. The soup was great and everything arrived piping hot. The cake was scrumptious. Very happy with the quality of the food and the service. Will do a repeat!
During COVID worker decided to clean the dining room and picked up the rug and shook it out less than 3 feet from our food. My elderly father and I stoped eating our lunch and we left. The guy who did it was a kitchen helper who clearly wasnt trained properly. He sarcastically asked me did I get dust in your food??
I’ve been ordering food from Three Decker for years and I’ve always been satisfied. The woman who answered the phone did the kindest thing for me. I told her with my order I didn’t need anything but ketchup as I ran out of ketchup in my house. I told her my back was out & I had no energy to order from the supermarket as I was in a lot of pain.I ordered fish cakes with spaghetti, chicken & rice soup, a vanilla shake, french fries and strawberry shortcake. Everything came extremely fresh. For some reason most coffee shops don’t have strawberry shortcake anymore and I love their’s.I opened my delivery bag and got the surprise of my life – LOTS of ketchup. It was such a nice thing to do I called her up to thank her. They have a customer for life!
Terrible service, I asked if they had hash browns and the lady said yes. So I placed my order, I got home fries, under cook eggs and not really crispy bacon. I told her that I ordered hash... she says we don’t have that :-/One thing is not cooking things as requested, I can deal with that. Another is giving me whatever you feel like and not what I Want to eat.
Average food. However my wife couldnt finish hers so she had it wrapped up. I then noticed on the check I was charged 50 cents for the container. I told the waiter and he took it back, threw it out and took it off the check. We eat out 6 dinners a week and 6 lunches a week. I have never had anything like this. What did the place gain besides losing a customer. I will never go back.
We just stumbled onto this place since the nearby Courtyard Marriott doesnt have a restaurant or meal service. It was a Saturday night and getting late so we had our fingers crossed and didnt expect much in the way of quality food or service. The waiter was very nice and explained the daily specials and other items on the menu. He was cheery and provided us with service we dont get many times in 5 star restaurants. We ordered three meals: one of the daily specials, chicken teriyaki and rice; a hamburger and a Philly cheesesteak and chicken noodle soup. What an extremely nice surprise we received!!! Our wait was minimal and all the food was great. The portions were so large that we couldnt completely eat our meals. The other service staff was equally as friendly. They let us sit and relax and continue to eat long after they had closed for the evening. This place is a hidden jewel on the upper east-side of NY and will definitely go on our places to eat in NY.
The food was okay but the service was terrible. I went mid-day on Monday and they got my order wrong. When I pointed out there was no attempt to fix it. The waitress didnt return to my table to refill my coffee or my water. I had to grab ketchup from another table. The final straw was when I finally got my waitresss attention and asked for another jelly she took the jelly from the table she was busing and gave it to me. Covered in Ketchup.
I have been going to this place for years and I have turned a blind eye to the mediocre service and ok food since the prices were fairly reasonable. You get what you pay for definitely applies to this diner. Today though was definitely the last time I will ever eat there. Not only did my waiter(Bald supervisor) take forever to come back to my table, but I watched him answer the phone, write up receipts, shuffle through bagels like a box of legos and cut strawberries all with his bare hands. To top it off I was checked out by another waitress because he was too busy and she made a mistake and undercharged by $2.45 cents. Not only did Mr. Bald guy stop me from leaving over this minor difference in the price(keep in mind I have been going here for years and I always tip generously), he had me pay the $2.45 with my debit card lol. You see I dont care about the 2.45. Its the principle. Im a good customer for years and I always take care of the waiter or waitress. The mistake was on their part and he couldnt let it go despite his poor service and lack of hygiene.
As soon as I walked in the server was very rude. She just looked at me and walked away. I sat down, she literally threw the menu and walked away. Then she literally RUSHED me to order not giving me ample time to view the menu. She touched my belongings on the table. I dont like people in my personal space especially not touching my wallet just to sit juice on the table when there was more than enough space on the table. She never checked on me. I am very unsatisfied. The food was okay but service made me decide NEVER to come here again. I paid my money, I didnt eat here for free. The least I could have gotten was decent service. I dont know her name. But she is an older Latino woman wearing all black. Very very disgusting. Servers make establishments look bad and I can see because clearly there are other reviews speaking of how bad the service here was during their time here.
If I could give this awful place less than one star I would. The food is so bad that it should be illegal to charge for it. We were served an omelette that has runny eggs inside when we asked them to fix it they microwaved it and brought back a hockey puck.We were also serves rotten fish and they decided to just take $4 off the check for that it was the worst dining experience of my life do yourself a favor dont go in.
Ive been a customer for as long as I can remember Im now 52 yrs old ....never really had a problem ...but lately staff well shouldnt say all one woman that works there ..is just plain nasty doesnt seem to now how to smile .which makes it very uncomfortable ...so I STOPPED going in ....but over the yrs I have different points for long periods had dinner delivered every night ...not cheap...always tip very well ....im home very sick ..so I called for a delivery ....was told I would have to pick it up out side my lobby ...because I live in a project which at night I guess some delivery men dont feel safe ...so even though it is safe ..havent had any reason to be afraid except its a project housing ....im ok I understand that so I would go down to receive my delivery .......no problem .....i just called for a delivery and first was told I must go down to lobby to receive it ..delivery man will not come up ! Fine man takes my order then comes back to phone says that i cant have it deliverd ....THE DELIVERY MAN REFUSES ...TO DELIVER AT 2PM IN THE AFTER NOON TO OUTSIDE MY BUILDING !!!!! ARE YOU SERIOUS ...I CAN NOT BELIEVE THIS ...I AM LIVID ! I just called midnight express which I dont use ....they took my order and delivers with no problem right to my apartment ! When I think of how much money i spent in three decker with my family I could scream ....just lost a very good customer..
Terrible Terrible service.I sat at the counter for over ten minutes...counter personnel walked back and forth(the male was constantly singing and humming, the other a large women in black seemed oblivious. Finally, I asked a lady who was waiting on the tables to take my order. She did. She puzzled that I hadn’t been waited on.
I can only speak for lunch time service and food...service = waitress with terrible attitudefood beyond gross , i ordered the Brisket tasted like something out of a old package , if i dont get sick ill be amazed.my companion order chicken cutlet parm..sauce was like red colored water and cutlet was burnt..and to end our meal our waitress came and grabbed the credit card without even showing us the bill , and when she finally presented it , she overcharged us by $20...i would highly recommend passing this place by......

2022-07-08Worst omelette ever! I ordered a blue cheese omelette. What came was so brown that I sent it back. The replacement came and somehow, it still was brown on the outside but completely soupy on the inside. To make things worse, the replacement was American cheese. I ate the toast, potatoes, and sausage, paid my check and left. I wont eat there again. The cook should be fired.

2021-04-18How diners should be. Good cheap food with excellent service and you never feel rushed to leave. Had a very relaxing breakfast for dinner here. Will definitely be returning.

2019-07-21Excellent breakfast for great price. I had the western omelet with whole grain toasts, my daughter had the Belgian Waffle with a generous side of bacon. All served with complimentary 4-ounce orange juice and coffee. Good service! I paid $22.00, tax and 18% tip included. My waiter was a Mexican (I think) guy (salt & pepper hair) who could not be sweeter or more attentive.

2019-01-09Do you want a lamb chop, moist brisket or BBQ short ribs each for under $15 in northern-most section of the upper east side? Well look no further! This place is like a Denny’s or iHop on steroids. The menu is about 8 pages long and they serve everything from Mexican to Italian. The place comfortable and cozy, and the waiters know their customers by name. It’s been around for longer than most of its attendees and it’s not stopping anytime soon. Great spot! Great ambiance! Not a 5-star restaurant, but definitely worth coming to.

2022-06-21Place was a great diner years ago but with all the owner changes and no real sense of direction this place is better off closing down sorry but not sorry. Food isn’t good enough to keep the customers coming in and all the old timers are fading

2022-02-22I am all about supporting small businesses but this one I will no longer support. Not only is the food not that great for the $ but the owner always double parks in his big red Yukon on 91st and side swiped my car last week.I showed him video proof of him pulling off my front bumper and he will not take responsibility for his actions. He told me to sue him.Watch out for the big red truck and take your money elsewhere!

2021-10-27Great breakfast restaurant! Romero was a fantastic server & was attentive to not only my table, but others as well. I appreciated how he thought about giving water to the doggo outside. Got orange juice complimentary with our order. Simple and delicious diner food and prices are unbeatable!

2021-07-07Our family had a late brunch on a hot, midweek afternoon and it could not have been better—a genuinely great NY diner. Poached eggs with bacon; omelette; pancakes. Everything was delicious, hearty, & servings generous. The service was wonderful—friendly and fast. And so reasonably priced. Can’t wait to visit again.
