Went with my boyfriend and his 6 year old son. Rooms were challenging enough for adults while still being fun for kids. There was a malfunction of one of the features (don’t want to spoil anything!) in the first room we went in. Upon finishing I informed the gentleman who had taken care of us, and he immediately apologized and offered us to do a second room for free. We weren’t expecting that and it was very kind of him! All the employees were great. Would definitely recommend as a beginners escape room experience.
We had a lot of time and tried all three adventures, which ended up having over 1.5 hours of fun. And we’re both around the mid 20’s age range and we didn’t feel like we’re too old for it or anything. Some of the tasks/puzzles were quite challenging in fact, and it’s always fun for a challenge. The overall build quality of the rooms and lighting/designs are really cool and immersive, perhaps some of their video content can use some better production quality, but otherwise, well done. Would highly recommend you try the tomb one if you are only doing one.
My corporate team and I came here for a group outing. The puzzles are fun and really well designed for group teamwork, communication and cooperation. They arent especially hard so if you want a tough escape challenge look elsewhere but the awesome sets and production value, as well as the fun of it, more than makes up for that. We went through the Dragos Castle and Outer Space adventures. It felt like visiting a theme park in Buffalo! I would highly recommend 5 Wits for any team or group party.
My 12 year old son loves it! He has been several times now and he finds even the rooms he has done before to be fun to do again. We brought my teenage daughters and they enjoyed it alot as well. The staff is helpful and friendly and the whole experience is welcoming for everyone.
This place is so much fun! I loved the space mission, but all of the rooms have really great puzzles and are super entertaining, even for adults. Amy and Shannon were really wonderful and made the experience even better. I would highly recommend taking a day or two or three to hit up all of the rooms here.
This place is incredible! If youre looking for a great afternoon with friends or family this is a great place to take them. The prices are reasonable, especially if you pay for all 3 adventures. I love escape rooms, and this isnt the same, but its similar. The adventures are decorated with the same effort that Disney would put into something. The staff was really friendly and gave us a good intro to our adventures. Last thing Ill mention is that if you pay for all 3 adventures and cant finish them, you can always come back and do them without losing your money.
Had no idea what this place was before yesterday. Wife suggested it for part of a day date, and it was awesome. Riddle, adventure, escape room vibes. Staff were fantastic, very accommodating. We didnt have change for the lockers, so they gave us a quarter. Offered to turn off the strobing lights when we asked if they had any. Will be going back.
My wife and I took our son and two of his friends here for the first time. We did 2 of the 3 experiences and had a wonderful time. The kids loved how interactive the challenges were. Josh was a great guide, very detailed and played along with some of the kids silly questions. We will definitely be back again!
This is a great place to have fun with friends and family. Each of the 3 rooms takes around 30-40 minutes depending on how skilled you are. I didnt give 5 out of 5 stars only because I would have liked to have a room with extreme difficulty! But this is a very family-friendly escape room which you can take young kids with you and they will still have fun!
Im only giving it a 4 out of 5 stars because of Tomb. The other two are fun. Ill explain more below but ultimately there were a couple issues I ran into in tomb.Explanation, also I did every puzzle with just 2 people:Castle was fun, though it felt like the princess talked a lot. I do think that it was aimed at the younger crowd so being older it was a bit cheesy but that also made it fun.Space was fun, and hard without giving a lot of hints. It definitely had some interesting puzzle moments while also having a high level of communication. Now when it comes to tomb, we ran into a few issues. Spoiler, big spoiler....The pillars in the last room were very finicky and on two pillars we got it right away. Then the other two we found out you had to line it up slightly off. Which was annoying to lose because of that. The other part, one of the copper plates seemed a bit scratched up which Im not sure if it made the last puzzle harder?Over all theyre a lot of fun but really challenging with two. Space is easily my favorite.
Very, very fun. I do a lot of escape rooms and this is along the same lines but it more adventure based. Time flies by and it is good for a wide age base! Would highly recommend. The place is so well decorated it is easy to get lost in the story! Very very fun. Did all 3 adventures.
Super cool! I came as part of my colleges activity team so we didnt pay the full price, which I think would have been too pricey for me even though this place is awesome. They put a lot of work into the rooms and it shows! Very fun, challenging but not crazy difficult. Staff was very kind and reassuring.
I have gone to 5 Wits at least 4 times already and each time I do all three attractions. I have gone with children (10 and 12 years old) a teenager (15 years old) and adults. My groups have ranged from 2-4 people and I loved each moment of all the adventures I went on and so did everyone I went with. Even after doing the adventures multiple times they are still challenging and fun. The three adventures each have a unique theme and the puzzles are difficult enough to be challenging but not so hard that they cant be solved. Everything appeared clean and in good order. The one adventure (ancient Egypt themed) is slightly scary for some (the 10 y.o. was slightly scared in this adventure). Highly recommend for anyone looking for an adventure!
Excellent place. They have 3 themed escape rooms Tomb, Deep Space,& Dragos Castle. There were more than one room for each of the attractions. Clean and family friendly. I would do this with 4 or more people because of the puzzles in the rooms it would be extremely difficult with less than 4 people. But the only issue is some of the sensors you use were very sensitive and you need to hit them hard to make them work. Other than that it was great!
I visited this location with my husband and 12 year old nephew recently. We had a great time. My husband was hesitant about it at first thinking it would be cheesy but it was not at all. The store is well designed and each challenge is thought out well and very realistic. The props are high quality and they put a lot of attention into the look of the rooms. It was challenging for all of us and fun at the same time. I would highly recommend this for an afternoon activity with 3-4 people.
This place is awesome! We came here for fathers day, and first thing as we were checking in and paying, they gave my father-in-law a wrist band to make sure we had private adventures every time. Each room was unique with great logic based puzzles, and super fun. I would definitely say easier with a group of four or more. And one of our group was in a wheelchair from a minor injury, and still able to access everything and participate. They even specially tailored some of the room background story for her. Would recommend and go again! 😊
It was fun! I planned it as a party of a work gathering. I did not like that I could not make reservations prior, I also think that once you go and do all 3 activities it would not be worth going again until they switch them up. We had fun it was challenging at times but still kept us going.
Its a different kind of escape room. Rather than just figuring out a series of puzzles, this one is very interactive. You find yourself trying to replicate a short tune, watching flashing lights, touching wall panels, etc. Personally, I was not a fan, nor was my husband. However, it might be more fun with more people. In general, we prefer the puzzle style of escape room.
Great energy of all the employees there. We went mid day on a weekday and it was perfect. Not too crowded!! We did all three rooms and the great thing was that they were all different puzzles so it wasnt a copy and paste of the previous room. Worth the $30 for three rooms.
I did the space room. It was a lot of fun, however it was not an escape room like it claims. All you do is a series of tasks. There is no searching for clues or finding answers like a normal escape room. It was very disappointing, especially since I paid $50 for two of us and it was a bust.
My son and I tried out all three adventures today. We had so much fun! There were a few technical difficulties but the staff made note of them. The staff were all very excellent in their jobs their. While waiting for the next room, I even noticed the staff being patient and professional with an individual who was making a fool of himself by telling the staff he needed to know what exactly to do in each room before he was going to pay to try them. Seriously...this guy kept demanding that he needed to know each puzzle. I felt bad for his girlfriend standing there. Either way, the staff was knowledgeable and professional. Thank you for a great time!
Wow! So much fun. We came down from Toronto because we heard about this place. So good! It is very different then your tipical room escape, but still incorporates puzzles and tasks that will make everyone work and think. All the games are great and I highly recommend this place to everyone.
Really good activity if you happen to be in the mall with some younger people. Puzzles are not too difficult, lots of physical interaction, cool effects. I would say that if you have some nervous kids, they may get scared at times. There are spots in darkness, scary villains, and large animatronics. Its about $35 for an over or so per person. Not a bad deal at all
I had my staff come here for a team building event and we had a fantastic time! When booking the event, Kurt made it very easy and was super accommodating. The staff was great, they had a great energy for our entire visit (Especially Philip!) Overall a great experience, thank you again!!
Amazing immersion! I did all three at this location. My favourite was the Tomb one, it was amazing for team and communication building. The scoring system is a great incentive to come back and try to bet your own score. Special thanks to BeeJay, Chris, and Josh for making my awkward group of Canadians feel welcome!
Absolutely incredible! We werent sure of what to expect, but being a sci-fi fan, I had to try the Space Mission. Was expecting a space-themed escape-room type experience, but was completely blown away by the realism and immersiveness of the entire experience. Time and reality slipped away as we were in a total different reality. Im so glad I paused to take a few pics, to help remember just how awesome the evening was. Someone really put their talents to good use designing the sets, the puzzles, the computers and light and sounds that were all a part of the experience. Really it was like being in your very own episode of Star Trek.FYI if you buy in packages, you can get multiple adventures for a really good price.
Was a fun time - I went with my wife and two other couples ranging in our late 20s to mid 30s in age. The Fantasy and Ancient Egypt rooms were fantastic, but the Sci-Fi room fell flat for us. The AI villain was lackluster, rooms werent as detailed and the puzzles were confusing and felt uninspired. The other two were well thought out and had some good challenges, as well as some good use of theatrics and props.None were too hard to solve, which is ok, but a little more difficulty without becoming frustrating would have been welcomed. We had the high score for all three rooms for that day.
5 Wits, 4 Stars. This was a fun place to go with friends, my first experience in a place like this.We were a bunch of upper 20s, low 30 year olds and still had a good time, though I would recommend the best age range would be 8-14 years old, accompanied with a few adults to help out along the way.
Tons of fun. As I see mentioned in another review there were puzzles that were never recognized as complete. One room we did twice over a two week period failed to recognize both times in the exact same spot. Seeing that the other review was from 2 months ago is why I took off one star since any problems should be fixed within hours if not a few days. Both times we mentioned one failed after completing correctly and staff gave the surprised look both times and said oh no. That can happen from time to time. Clearly an issue they do know about and have not fixed yet.All that being said. The overall experience is incredible. Did all three with my 11 and 8 year old and my father. 3 generations all having a great time together fully into the experience. It truly takes all participants working together to get the best score. So much to see and search for. The one room I doubled up on I noticed the amount of tasks asked of us were increased when we went through with 4 people as opposed to 2.Lastly, you should absolutely do all three. Kind of pricey if you dont max out the value. And they are all entertaining in different ways. We all wish there were more versions to be completed. Hopefully they make changes every so often so we can keep coming back
I have to admit this was a lot more fun that I originally thought it would be. And cheaper too. I had a lot of fun with the small group we had, and I would say 4 is the perfect size group to go with. We did two out of three rooms and will be going back for the third. Not only that, but we were told that the rooms change constantly as well. So I will more than likely even be going there to do the other rooms more. I would absolutely recommend this place if youre looking for something to do. Each room takes around 30 minutes too.
We went today to celebrate my sons 10th birthday. There were 8 of us, we got wrist bands from chris because it was my sons birthday which we really appreciated. I honestly dont think it would be as much fun with strangers. My husband and I had done an escape room before and were horrible at it, So we were hesitant to do this. Fortunately this was 10 times better. Kids were scared in the tomb room but eventually they liked it. Library challenge was cool and the space one was fun but the last room was confusing even though we got our best score on that one!! Josh was great dealing with all of us. We will definitely come back again!
Most immersive Escape game Ive ever played. You feel like youre in a movie or video game. Each campaign relatively short (about 30-35 minutes each, while other escape rooms tend to be up to an hour), but the amazing production value more than makes up for it.Great pricing ($30 USD for 3 rooms. Other places Ive been to was about $25 CAD for 1)We did, however, experience a few glitches for a few of the puzzles (i.e. they were solved but the system didnt register it as solved). That said, the rest of the experience was good enough that Im not deducting any stars from the review (the way the games are designed also ensures that you dont get stuck)Probably ruined other escape rooms for me, because now my expectations for immersion/production value has been set so high.Staff was also very friendly.
The themes are impressive especially the deep space room, which has a lot of great refrences for fans of star trek, portal and even 2001. The puzzles are challenging, immersive, difficult but not impossible.Plus some of the most friendly staff especially their cute and dreamy bearded boys.
The tomb was the best one in my opinion. The deep space was by far the worse, we entered up exiting this 1 early. We had no idea what to do for about 10 minutes until the robot provided instructions over the speaker system. Most of the time instructions were not clear/loud enough it would be nice to have a repeat button instead of waiting minutes for the instructions to be repeated again.

2022-05-10This was one of the best experiences that I have had since I have come to Buffalo. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The rooms are both interactive and exciting! I will be back to play one of the other rooms that are offered ASAP!

2022-03-25Took my 10 year-old daughter and 2 friends. They loved the Storybook experience- fast-paced and engaging. Not sure how the automation or timing works out, but when we were close to figuring something out, it was already having us move on. We were out in under an hour and moved quickly through some things, so I wish we could have used that time on the more trickier parts. A definite excitement, though, and highly recommend.

2022-04-04Took my 2 kids and I and we went through the tomb and dragos castle. Definitely was challenging but we had a great time. A little on the expensive side but all in all we enjoyed ourselves. Looking forward to possibly having their Birthday Party there in the summer.

2022-01-23Awesome experience! Staff was fantastic with great energy. Highly recommend (but not for younger children, or those afraid of dark spaces) Perfect for a date night

2022-01-02Did the Egyptian Tomb adventure with my 7 year old to waste some time while my wife shopped. It was moderately fun, but for $30 a person I expected a lot more. I definitely dont recommend taking young kids because the puzzles are a little tough.

2021-12-05Visiting from out of town. Expensive but did all 3 challenges. 2nd 2 were discounted so worth it to our family of 4. $250 total for all of us for 3 adventures and each took 35-40 minutes. They rank you so you actually want less time. I have done lots of escape rooms and this is not really that. Each challenge is very immersive. The aspects across the 3 different set-ups are unique and not found in the others. So all-in-all, a bit pricey but a special treat for our vacation.
