A review of the stop and of Megabus... I’m actually writing this on a DC-bound Megabus with my daughter. It’s the cheapest way to get the DC and offers multiple departures a day, including super early and super late. The reaso. I take these is that I dislike driving and the train is often too expensive for personal travel. The booking process via the site is easy and the bus is relatively clean, but don’t plan on using the bathroom. Paying an extra $4-6 for the reserved seating is worth it. I like sitting upstairs on the double-decker sometimes. The bus stop, next to the Jacob Javits Convention Center on the Far West Side looks chaotic, but there’s a certain method to the madness once you figure it out. There are no bathrooms near the stop. There are multiple hot dog carts, Halal chicken-n-rice carts, etc.

Managers/owners, please! Consider the option of letting people get off the bus on the way through Manhattan. We all feel trapped with the bus stopping every minute at the traffic lights/pedestrians. Maybe, at least plan the route that will avoid the tourists/cars traffic. It’s unbelievable we, passengers on both floors, spent 40 minutes, just observing people walking around and wishing we could get out and walk too, because it would save us plenty of time.P.S. The loo was awful as you could smell it around..

Last year megabus was a better option in comparison with other bus services. However my experience recently can never be worse than ever. The driver is just way too rude and racism. There’s not even an apology for 1 hour delay that caused my flight missing

I’ve taken this bus a few times, traveling back and forth between Baltimore and New York for events and day trips. The WiFi never works but it’s the cheapest option for travel and I’ve never had any issues with drivers or other passengers so overall it’s quite good. Just keep in mind you get what you pay for. It’s cheap so don’t expect luxury. Oh and for people who can’t find the outlets, it’s on your seat, near where your knees are, not in front of you but on your actual seat.

My two kids (17 y/o) went to Ithaca to check out Cornell College, which is 4hrs away from home, and decided to ride on this company. Their first ride on a bus on their own, but little did we know that on their way back home the bus was not going to make their stop, leaving them stranded. We called the customer svc number and all they kept telling us was to call bk in 10 min. After several calls they finally escalated the situation two hours later. My kids had to take another bus to get bk home. I do not recommend this company; Its not reliable at all.

Took Mega bus from Boston to NYC. The bus was late by 30 mins. When all other buses were on time at South station, Boston, they came out with a reason of heavy traffic for the delay. The driver who was actually throwing(it was suppose to be loading) the baggages handed over to him. Dang, thats how they handle the baggage? Then there were signs all over the bus for the free wifi and power outlets on board. It was frustrating when we knew the hot spot was not working. there was no announcement about the same. You have better alternatives for Mega bus if the trip is well planned.

Yes, there is WiFi but it will short out after 30 minutes along with the AC and, yes, water will inexplicably pour down from the front of the bus onto the passengers even though it is not raining (what the...?). And, yes, someone will be sitting in the seat you reserved so youll have to explain to them why they have to move but its ok because they cant understand you anyway and yes, your ticket says youll arrive at 9:15 pm when it really means 11 pm, but lets be real... its still cheaper and better than trying to find parking in Brooklyn. Five stars, Megabus.

I can genuinely say that this was the worst company for any service Ive ever experienced in my life. On my trip from NYC to DC, the lines were completely unorganized. I asked what one queue was for and got three different answers. When I finally boarded the bus, there was no air conditioning for the entire 4 and a half hour trip in the heat of summer. The trip back to NYC began a half hour late. Then the bus broke down. No apologies, just a frustrated, I cant do anything from the bus driver. I caught another bus to Philadelphia an hour later. But since I was trying to get to NYC, I had to pay $94 to get an Amtrak back to NYC from Philly. I am not going to pay another cent to these mega bus mega crooks.

2 pm bus from Albany to nyc. Never arrived and in a mystery worthy of the twilight zone, the bus had disappeared and could not be located via gps. Like me, most would be passengers left in disgust and in search of more reliable transportation after waiting for 2 hours. For the fun of it I checked in at 5 pm and the bus had still not been located. Perhaps megabus’ version of a mystery tour. Now for the hassle of getting a refund for a service never rendered.

On bus from Boston to NYC and the driver says get out stretch your legs...after 40 minutes passengers start asking whats up? The driver told a passenger he timed out and was waiting for a relief driver. No we will be well over an hout probably two hours late to NYC and no apology nothing. The driver could have at least had the courtesy to let us know from the start so we werent sitting around in a hot bus. I would have just ordered an uber and gone to the nearest metro station and been there by now. I wont be using megabus again.
