Got chicken pad thai and it was ok at best. Mainly just noodles without a lot of sauce or other ingredients. The chicken tasted plain like it had just been added to the noodles with ant seasoning. 1/3 of the takeout box was bean sprouts. I like bean sprouts, but feel like they were just trying to fill up the box with something cheap.
Ordered fried rice and the vegetables are still frozen. I also ordered spring rolls which they ended up giving me only half of what I ordered. They not only upcharge you when you order online but they also dont get your order right. And the next time I ordered they were 20 mins late. I had to wait a total of one hour for my food to be ready after ordering it online
Ive been a loyal customer for a few years now. The pho here is absolutely to die for. I have never had a bad bowl. The broth is always so delicious and all the other ingredients are so fresh. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone, especially for the amazing pho!
So i just ordered about 30 bucks worth of food from this place, I ordered a soup dish and when I started eating it I felt a sharp stab into my tongue. I pulled out a maybe 1/2 in piece of sharp plastic. Im scared now to eat the rest of my dinner. Yeah not ordering from here again
My go-to place for pho! Fast, authentic, and delicious. I always order their Vietnamese egg roll and pho tai. Been coming here often for the past 4 years with no complaints. Whenever the weather gets chilly or I feel under the weather, their pho always warms me up and makes me feel so much better. Same deal with my friends and roommates.
So I ordered a few pho with friends and everyone’s pho was proportioned well where mine was so small. Then I realized there was a guy inside the kitchen who looks out to see what type of customers enter before he preps the food. My guess is he adjusts the proportions based on your looks. Very bias and very unprofessional way of doing business. Proportions should be equal in size no matter who the customer is. Greatly disappointed cause I left still feeling hungry. Every pho place I’ve been to has left me full with one large bowl except this one. You might need 3 orders to get enough for a large proportion. Or weigh a 1000lbs and maybe you’ll get a better proportion or maybe an even smaller proportion. Who knows except the lookout in the kitchen
My husband, son and I were in town recently and sought out this place based on good reviews. The reviews were right. This restaurant is clean and inviting. It is low key and relaxing. Seat yourself. Everything you need from napkins to condiments to chopsticks and spoons is right there at the table. Our waiter greeted us with tall glasses of ice water and menus. We placed our order and it wasnt long before he returned with it, piping hot. One of us had chicken and pork teriyaki over rice and said it was delicious. Others of us had pho and it was really satisfying. Leftovers were consumed that night. Were really glad we stopped in and will be back.
The portions here are small for the price. Beef pho lacked depth and flavor, but the brisket wasnt bad. Pork chop rice plate was so skimpy for the large size...wonder what the small wouldve looked like. Overall, food just tasted meh. Came here because the reviews but left very disappointed.
The best pho in the world...it was but these new waiters have no customer service skills at all. 12/11/21...Me and my father stopped in to eat and we must of sat there for over 20 minutes before one of 2 took our order. Its only because my father finally said something. They dont even act like they want to be there. Frowns and attitudes. This went from a 5 stars to one. Please fix this before I have to find a new place.
If you’re a fan of Pho, look no further than 99 Fast food restaurant. The Pho comes out quick and hot; a comfort meal perfect for any occasion. Price to portion ratio is excellent. My last visit though, I ordered Pho without cilantro and they gave me one with cilantro. When I brought it up to the waiter he apologized and returned to the kitchen. He gave my Pho but noticed all they did was pick off the cilantro that was visible. I also would like to add that the location is a bit odd, parking can seem trivial especially when it’s busy. Besides the complaints I’ve mentioned, it’s still a place worth visiting if you’re craving Pho.
The pho is outta this world. Sometimes the chicken and beef ribs are a little old and dry, the shrimp and raw beef is always excellent. Spring rolls are only ok having lettuce, noodles and choice of meat however the egg rolls are super! Youll 100% be taking some left overs home with you. The place is my favorite
1st time here Wednesday 10/21/20. I ordered #24 large ($12) stir-fry! I ordered my meal with chicken, beef, and pork! NOT FISH!!!!!Why does my food taste like fish? There are no people here to manage food handling regulations. Asian/Americans either dont have the skills or dont care about cross-contamination!I told the owner it was my first time here!!! I guess i shouldnt expect people from outside of the US of A to open up businesses here and comply with the laws! i.e. eat at your own risk here!
I have been going here for at least 15 years. Back in the day they had a Niagara St. location. The pho is as good as some Ive had in Toronto. The appetizers are all great. Lemongrass chicken is delicious! All the rice vermicelli dishes with different skewers are as good as it gets in Buffalo. Service can get behind sometimes, but thats because they are always busy. A lot of Students eat here, always a good sign of authenticity. I would recommend this place to everyone, even people who are scared of Vietnamese cuisine. The parking here is street only so you may have to walk some distance. Also dont let the location fool you, because youll miss out on a hidden gem.
Wow! This food was delicious! I went for the daily lunch buffet (only 11 bucks!) on snowstorm Saturday and I have to say me and my group of friends were impressed. The buffet offered plenty of options for both meat and veggie waters and there were delicious mango milkshake and Chai tea drink options too.
Nothing pretentiously or fancy about this place, if you’re looking for ambiance or decor, look elsewhere. However, if you’re looking for a nice hot bowl of Pho or standard Vietnamese dishes, look no further. If you’re getting Pho and can’t decide between the medium and large, get the medium, it’s just less broth with all the same quantities of yummy ingredients. My only gripe is every time I’ve ordered appetizers they come either immediately before the meal or simultaneously.Pay at the counter.
This place has really good authentic Vietnamese food. Its family run and the service and prices are great. you will definitely get your moneys worth and not leave hungry. The fresh shrimp spring rolls with peanut dipping sauce were very tasty with lots of shrimp. my friend seafood teriyaki with veg was soo good. My Bun Tom Thit Nuong Cha Gio vermicelli noodles with a skewer of grilled shrimp and 1 of pork and an egg roll with fresh veg lettuce and sauce was outstanding real Vietnamese food. This place is a hidden treasure. If you are reading this you should go find it.
Short ribs and skewers are insanely flavorful and taststy, its marinaded in some intense dark soy sauce. Noodle soup is amazing, the soup is light yet refreshing and delightful, meat in the bowl is delicious. Its the best noodle soup I had in a long long time. Not to mention, price is really really good. Easily best Vietnamese restaurant in Buffalo region.
I love this place for big hot bowl of pho. Its always delicious and the plate of extras, like bean sprouts, fresh jalapeño slices, and fresh basil, is a nice touch. The spring roll and Vietnamese roll appetizers as well as the pork skewer and short ribs are always good too.
Walked in and realized I forgot my wallet. I have Apple Pay and wondered if they accepted it. The restaurant doesn’t but they told me to order on Door Dash and they would serve me here. Now full disclosure.... I prefer Pho Dollar’s Pho to 99, but the customer service that I received makes me come here. Love it here and recommend other to here
I really enjoyed this place! I never had pho before but this made me enjoy it. Ive come back twice. Whats even more wonderful is that the restaurant is around the corner from UB south so its easily accessible for a quick lunch or after school dinner with friends. I probably wouldnt feel comfortable going here at night because its in a sketchy ish area of town
Pretty shamed, customer service was ridiculously terrible, got my food really late, after seeing that other customers that came after me got their food before me it makes me feel that they dont pay attention to their orders, also when we were done with 1 dish, they didnt bother picking it up. But all i can say is that the food is pretty decent, only thing that is terribly bad is the customer service, needs to improve on communicating. If they can improve this, i would rate it a lot higher, but for now i dont think so.
When I come here I always order the same few items:Pho with raw meat and tendonBarbecued pork over riceVietnamese eggrollsPad ThaiAll of it is pretty much authentic and delicious. The service is normal - what youd find at any other restaurants. This is my favorite Vietnamese place in Buffalo.I would definitely recommend this place to friends.
The Shrimp Pad Thai I ordered for take out not only smelled like Jack Eichel took a bath in the noodle water after practice, but also contained hair. The service was very friendly but, nonetheless, hair in food is absolutely unacceptable. I hear they have great pho and their dumplings were actually amazing, but my friend and I agreed that this Pad Thai may have actually been the worst food weve ever had. Avoid the pad thai. Cheers.
I probably wouldnt feel comfortable going here at night because its in a sketchy ish area of town. The restaurant itself is pretty basic, nothing special. You enter the restaurant and you seat yourself.I throw in some sriracha too. This gives it all the wonderful flavor Ive come to love!
This is my go-to place for pho. Great prices, service and exceptional food. My favorite is the short rib plate with fried rice. I usually get the soursop shake with it....nutritious and good for the skin...also yummy. The broth for the pho is delicate and clean. Absolutely delicious food here.
Ive been a few times and most recently I was most disappointed only because I want blown away (I got the stir fry). My friend got the curry which was much better. Ive had several pho doshes all great too. So, maybe dont get the stir fry as it is a little basic tasting next to the other dishes but it was still good.
My family and I LOVE this place. Friendly atmosphere, Great servers, and AMAZING flavor! Dont judge the place by the neighborhood. Its other worldly how comfortable and peaceful the place feels once you get there. Even the patrons bring a comforting, diverse energy to the experience.
Ive been coming here since 2009. Having lived in both Asia and the U.S., this is by far the best Pho place that Ive been. Its so good that my parents, when they visit from the other side of the world, make a point for me to take them here. Try their pho or the pork teriyaki, my favorites.
Had to try this place after reading all the great reviews but I thought it was just so -so. Service was good, place was clean but the Pho and spring rolls were nothing to write home about, (although I AM writing on here... lol). If Im in the area again and need a Pho fix maybe, but I wont go out of my way to go back.
AS USUAL it was delicious, this is perhaps not a place you write home about, but this is a place you tell your friends and family about. So go there and tell em a friend with a cane and loves Bo Kho or most any Pho sent you and they will likely say, tell him we said thanks.
Its one of those places you would drive by without giving it a second thought, but 99 Fast Food (pho) is a great surprise. It has authentic vietnamese food and the prices are excellent ($4-8 for an entree.) it takes a little while to cook since its all made from scratch, but I havent had a bad meal there. Theyre better at the vietnamese dishes (like pho and vermicelli) than the chinese-style dishes, and I highly recommend the vermicelli with grilled shrimp. Lots of soda choices, too!

2022-01-16I usually enjoy 99 fast food until today. I ordered pad thai through door dash, and they sent me chicken soup. I ordered again, thinking it was a one time mistake...and they sent me soup AGAIN. Pad thai does not come with a broth, so either the employee is lazy and isnt reading the order thoroughly,, or they are totally clueless. When I called the restaurant directly, he admitted the mistake but could not send me my correct order because he was the only employee working. Now I have 2 orders that I dont want. Very annoying.

2022-05-12Hands down some of the best Pho I have ever had. The complexity of the delicate broth pared with just the right amount of fresh herbs spices and sauces makes for a very special meal. The staff is always prompt and friendly.

2022-04-26Best place in Buffalo to enjoy a bowl of Pho! Everything was so scrumptious and mouth-watering...Cant tell how many times I order and visit from this restaurant. Oh, their drink selection was also variable with yummy bubble tea, smoothies and coffee per my memory. Handsome and well-organized waiter, I think named Tang/Teng who was well-presented, and keeping track of waters, tables each table.Highly recommend this place!

2022-03-19There is no comparable pho to 99. I have been enjoying enjoying their phos,, fresh spring rolls and dumplings for 20+ years. I started eating there when they were downtown. Something about the broth is amazing. Once you go there you always wanna go there

2022-06-01This is one of my favorite places to go to for Vietnamese food in the area. They have a menu offering a variety of dishes and some great options for appetizers. My faves are the spring rolls and Korean bbq ribs. For drinks, the jackfruit drink is excellent. The chicken teriyaki here and lemongrass chicken curry are immaculate! You get the option of white or fried rice and the portions are fairly generous. They also have a vegetarian section so there’s something for everyone and the service is superb!

2022-06-12I’m not from the area so I personally think my review will be helpful to some of the visitors who cares about services. The food was actually pretty great, no words for the food. I am normally chill when I’m giving reviews but this is unacceptable, as we came in, no one was there and their attitude was the kind of early + sleepy attitude, I’m totally understand. But as we were eating, someone came in, and the attitude of asking them was totally different from us? I don’t understand lol.

2022-06-03There were missing items in my Uber eats order and I paid additional for extra meat to be added to both meals. This is ridiculous and by the time I called which was right after delivery they were closed. So upset with this restaurant. Horrible to order from online

2022-03-18We sat down to eat. No one was there which was nice. The food was very good, made on the spot fresh and hot. The portion sizes were HUGE. A lil pricey but well worth it. Youll definately be taking some home. Alot of takeout and doordash orders I noticed while there. I appreciated being able to sit down and enjoy a meal without alot of people around. And I went there around 2:45
