99 Favor Taste in other cities:
The sign outside said 97 instead of 99. There was also a sign in Chinese, after I found a listing saying that it was a Korean BBQ restaurant. I like Korean food, and I like Chinese food. But I dont like being lied to and told that one thing is something else. Definitely a turn off, and I crossed this place off my list. If this is a Chinese restaurant, thats great, but just say so.
Its was nice, my only problem is be careful when the servers are cooking the meat. If those tongs touched raw chicken dont touch the cooked chicken with the same tongs. Or if youre dealing with shellfish try not to touch every single veggies with those same thongs that touched the shellfish.
I don’t think it’s possible to say enough kind things about this place. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was even better. Unfortunately, because of Covid, only outdoor dining was available… Though I have to say, given what they have done with the place and the options available to them, I probably would have chosen outdoor dining anyway. They do seafood very well here, and the barbecue is excellent as well. Starting with oysters, and then a dinner combo each, we both walked away perfectly satisfied. And then the bill came in a cute, custom engraved box! The price was a little high, but given the quantity and quality, I do not mind, and I know that we will be returning here hopefully sooner rather than later.
Brand new dining experience! Literally, you get to cook the food at your table. Theres basically no waiting time to dig in! I love that they have an area for the diners to go and make their own sauces with all types of beautiful flavors! The waiting staff was attentive & very kind.
Man I hate writing bad reviews. Here we are nevertheless. We were sat and told to scan the QR code. No explanation of how the very unclear menu works. Water was brought in a dirty carafe and nothing else was offered. We ordered and waited. Got our soup base and went to town. Nothing was especially bad but nothing was especially good either. This was the most bland soup base Ive ever had at a hot pot restaurant. Nothing I did, garlic, scallion, chili oil, nothing could save it. We were checked on once during the entire experience. Im hoping it was a one off and that Im wrong. I dont intend to find out though.
It was my first time here and I really likeThe place. First of all everything was delicious, secondly the service was really good and lastly indoor decor and cleanliness was great. This is all I look in restaurants. I highly recommend to go here if you’ve never been there. I Will definitely go back!
Reason for going: Birthday DinnerPros:Gorgeous DecorGood food for moderate pricingAttentive and respectful staffSpacious seatingClean private bathroomsClean restaurantBonus Points:1. Offered plastic bags for your coats so they dont smell2. Outside washing station with Listerine and lotion3. Sauce station with regulated temperature4. Offer gumCons:ParkingOverall:Its great to see a little more culture make its way into Staten Island. And this Hot Pot place offers a get away from your typical pizza and pasta around every corner. You can see they thought of every detail in the decor and put effort into making the restaurant look beautiful. And it absolutely shows.Although the food does not stand out to me as memorable, theres a great selection of food to enjoy and you can simultaneously have soup and barbeque. I am by no means a meat eater but the marinaded house sauce steak is tasty. This place is great for a date and for the family and friends. I definitely recommend this place and Im excited to have a new addition to the island!📷@datasianjan
A great experience at a new restaurant. This was my first time trying hotpot and it definitely wont be the last. The servers were kind and very accommodating. We got the duo pot and bbq. The spicy broth was delicious and I liked how the bbq was done for you. I would recommend the watermelon juice and enoki mushrooms, plus everything else. Update: I find that their inattentive staff is the weakest point of their restaurant. We waited 20 minutes for attention after we had finished our food and nobody noticed us
Staten Island New Dorp Lane location. Made reservations for 6:30pm opening day. Was seated immediately but the place filled up fast. Had the all you can eat Korean barbecue option. All our servers were well trained, polite, fast & attentive. They cooked all the food at our table and it was delicious. Mix your own dipping sauce at the sauce station that even had lettuce tomato salad available. Also included was a tasty seafood pancake appetizer, a pitcher of herbal tea at your table and ice cream for dessert. The check was delivered in a wooden box with hand wipes and chewing gum to go. Tastefully decorated complete with full size statues in the back. Open space unisex bathrooms equipped with hand lotion & mouthwash. I definitely recommend this experience! Come early as the waiting room was packed when we left. Parking is on your own in the streets. The small adjacent parking lot appears to be for employee parking.
I had an incredible time tonight at dinner with my family. The condiment station was great. The inside decorations were so aesthetically pleasing. The service was terrific. The staff were so pleasant. I loved having the option of bbq and hot pot combo as all-you-can-eat for two hours.
2019.10 compare to other hot pot. $25 all u can eat. This one is lack of choice of sauce, meat, and vege. Seat not comfy at all. Either table too tall or chair too short... I m six ft tall already. Food quality is normal. Nothing special. This one is their 4th branch. If others are exactly the same then I dont think I will go again. Oh dont refer to their web site for the menu it is different. Much different. Service so so.... And their English name is 97 favor taste. Not 99
Youll be having a good time here if you know how to eat hotpot which is an Asian influent cuisine and you gotta cook your selected food by yourself. While the soup is the kay for flavor and my favorites are the spicy soup and Chinese herb, they also have many selections of sauce for dipping. Ive been to the other two locations in the city before, where I went on my birthday and it was free. Staten Island is my third and Im surprise that they all are pretty much the same in term of taste. I would recommend this restaurant if youre a cooking person and a buffet lover.
First all you can eat hot pot and BBQ on the island. I really love the setup of the restaurant. Very ancient Chinese setting. Especially the pulled rickshaw, it reminds me I used to play that at a restaurant in Asia. Order spicy broth hot pot. The soup is very mala. Great selection. When the broth is running low, staff will refill with regular both instead of water which I like. Staffs are friendly. It would be better if they can offer non fatty beef and slightly less salt on the broth . Other than that, I would definitely come back and try the BBQ. Please keep up the quality dont downgrade the quality.
The overall experience was nice. Initial service was also nice during the order. Food got to the table fairly quickly, then service part simply stopped and no one stopped by our table to ask how were doing or if we wanted to order anything else for almost 1 hour.... The hot pot water already steamed out and we needed to figure out how to turn it off by ourselves, before all started to burn. Cant say the lack of attention was due to them being very busy at the later evening point.Yet again, the overall experience was good - may be they need an extra person on staff to pay a bit more attention to the tables.
Favorite and Biggest 99 flavor in all the location. This location is super spacious and comfy in terms of seating. Typically a party of 4 in the other locations, would include a game of Tetris each time food comes. However, in this branch with a party of 4, plenty of room on the table for food and drinks.Food is fresh and plated individually. Thus different type of food would not mixed with one another. Vegetables includes cabbage, spinach, turnips etc.. plenty of meat options from chicken, seafood, beef, pork and lamb.Sauce is located in the backend of the restaurant. Sauce containers are kept in a sanitary location underneath the sauces. By far the cleanest sauce station of all locations. My go to combination is their house sauce or hoisin, sesame oil and chili sauce (one spoon each). For drinks, I would recommend a pitcher of watermelon slush for an icy refreshment. Or a pitcher of Mango Green Tea for a sugary refreshment. Both drinks can be purchase as a cup.Servers are nice and friendly.Bathroom is unisex with plenty of individual stall bathroom. Bring in traditional Chinese design. Sinks are located outside with mouthwash. Super convenient to freshen up before leaving and starting your meal.Ecofriendly: 3/5 waste plenty of water in terms of washing all dishes. For instant, ordering one instant ramen and quail eggs would result in one plate for the noodles, and one for eggs.
A reminder to folks, this is a Chinese restaurant that serves BBQ. Please dont go in expecting a Korean experience. The staff will cut / cook your meat for you, but you can ask them not to if you want to DIY.This is AYCE (all you can eat) so order up! There is a fee if you dont finish a significant amount of food.Hotpot - good selection of veggies and meatThe service is pretty quick when you put your first order in, but afterwards itll probably take a little bit so be sure to get their attention. When visited with 2-4 people you probably wont get your own pot. I saw that bigger parties that had BBQ + Hotpot got their own solo pots. They dont speak Canto or toisan, so I guess its a good chance to brush up on your mando. Well, the four staff members we spoke to didnt speak Canto or toisanThere is no tong sui (sweet soup/dessert soup) like the other locations, but you get orange wedges. The bathroom is very big and has a theme. They offer mouthwash, lotion, and floss picks. This location def looks a lot more tricked out than the Sunset, East Village, or Chinatown location.
This is the second location of 99 Favor I visited. Comparing to Brooklyn location, I would say the Staten Island location is much cleaner. Staff is more courteous and much friendlier than in Brooklyn location. I did not try the hot pot at SI location. The BBQ was ok, but not very impressive. Meat and sea food quality was average. Possibly if olive oil was used to cook, BBQ would taste a lot better. Another thing is the smell in the restaurant; it is very strange especially when you first walk into the restaurant. May be a better air circulation and a defuser would resolve the issue. Lastly, music is extremely loud. I dont see a reason to blast music this loud unless there is a dance floor.Overall, I would say the food in the restaurant is more authentic than adapted to American cusine. Some people will find it as a good thing, others will be turned away.
Don’t eat here. Bad food + mice, i witnessed them all chasing it back into the kitchen at the end of the meal. Also, i used to be an exterminator this place is disgusting. Their waitress couldnt even tell me what’s good or popular. So we ordered their original hot pot and pig bone hot pot. It tasted like straight water. I paid and I left bitter and unsatisfied. This place should be close. Do not eat here.
This not Korean BBQ. Its chinese restaurant...period. I was told by so many Staten Island people that its Korean but its not. this chinese bbq only review was average and nothing special. some waitstaff does better in cooking than others since they rotate. the meats for bbq are average to good quality. the price is 5-6$ more than what i would like to pay. So sorry for the reviews that gave it a 5 star. if they experience Korean Bbq they would know this is a 3 star KBBQ. But if this place is a chinese BBQ its still 3.5 to 4 stars. as for a chinese taste on the meats , its okay nothing memorable. some dishes like the pork belly and i forgot the other meat selection has no tastes on its own. hence the spice and flavor bar that you make to add the flavor. place should have a recipe for common or popular flavor sidedish and chart from regular to hot taste. mostly chinese probably go here but i doubt koreans would go here.
Great place. They are still learning, but I cant complain unlike the other review about small grill. Lol.Went here for the first time today for my wifes Birthday. We had fun. The food was plentiful and her meal as a Birthday girl was free. How about them 🍎? Party of three and only paid for two. Love it. They sang a song with the Monkey King. My favorite was the Kimchi Hotpot. Yummy. Great place for groups and families.
This place is absolutely amazing! Exceeded our expectations, we got drinks which were amazing and also the bbq and hot pot. Both were so out of this world the staff were so helpful and kind. The atmosphere has such a great positive energy. Definitely welcoming and the meat was so tender, tasty and flavorful. I’ll definitely be back!
First off, Google should not call this place Korean BBQ, it is most definitely not; this place is a Chinese Hot Pot restaurant that also serves “BBQ.”With that being said there was poor communication between staff and customers, as well as poor communication with mobile download menu. It was assumed that we knew we were cooking for ourselves. Then after the food was sitting at our table for a few minutes, they realized we didn’t know, which lead to the waitress awkwardly asking us if we wanted her to cook the food for us, with much reluctance. I would also like to add that when the food was brought out that I was commanded to move plates out of the server’s way as if I was an employee. As for the menu, it was unclear on the portions of each order.Quality was lacking. It was hard to be enthusiastic about grilling meat that arrived to the table as a frozen brick, where each individual piece needed to be pried apart. As for the restaurant, when we were sat at our table, I noticed a cordless drill sitting on another table; later at another table a party was sat with a broken electric hot pot burner, then I realized the drill was to change out broken electric hot pot burners on the fly, which I could only assume happens too often. Also, the vents for the grills were at least six feet above the table and did nothing to vent any smoke or vapor which was blowing straight onto my baby’s stroller (luckily baby was in her mother’s arms at the time, but unlucky that my dog now sniffs the stroller for something to eat). After paying $94 and leaving, two members of the staff followed us all the way to our car (which was parked a block away and not in any restaurant owned parking lot) and one approached me to ask if there was a problem. I started by saying we did not like our experience and we just wanted to go home. He proceeded to say that if we didn’t like the food then we shouldn’t have paid for it, then started to ask why we didn’t like it. My very upset wife did not want to communicate with the staff directly, but they tried to go to the other side of the car to confront her, I intervened, and said she did not want to talk. I pleaded that we just wanted to go home, and relayed my wife’s opinion that the food was disgusting. They started back towards the restaurant and the same employee turned back to say that of course we didn’t like it, we only had two bites. To which I replied with the fact that I didn’t need to try frozen meat. All in all, a horrible experience that should not have escalated to the point of near altercation in the streets of my home town.I would also like to add that this employee looks (and sounds) like a short Justin Long with gaged ear holes, which people should know who to avoid when walking into this place.
The Staten Island 99 Favor Taste is great gem. They have an electronic menu system, like many restaurants post-COVID. But this one is special, you can actually order from the web page, and even join a party so everyone can collaborate in ordering.AYCE hotpot and BBQ, the food was fresh and service relatively fast. We came here several times, and it never disappoints us. If youre in SI, definitely give this place a try!
First ever me going here and it sucks to leave this type of review but not going to lie the food was great and I love the concept that we cook our own food . I’m leave a 2 start review because the staff never showed us how everything works I had to figure it out for our table . Some food items never was brought to our table . And last but not least the staff came to us after we paid $276.00 and demanded a tip . We always tip in cash so the waiter keeps 100% of the tip but it’s super unprofessional to demand money when the service wasn’t great .
99 favor taste. It was a beautiful place i wanted to try something different the other night. Its outdoor dinning. Its secluded in the back with lights and trees all over and it felt very high class. There were some crowds of people placed safely in the distance. They have good deals on orders . Between my Fiance and I it came to almost 100.00 . It was so worth it . The staff made us feel right at home . I definitely will be going back for the all you can eat hot pot.
Amazing experience for hot pot and bbq . The tables have really cool grilled and hot plates that are neatly set up and changed/ cleaned periodically. The staff was so nice and patient with us amateurs. If its your first time you should let them cook for you. For hot pot you get two broths with unlimited toppings. It sucks that some stuff was out of stock but the menu was still big. I tried lotus, kani, kimchi and spicy broth, beef, noodles and veggies and all these flavors came together so well and stayed piping hot. I loved the bbq too, the pork belly and beef steaks were good, shrimp was also tasty with garlic and chilli sauces ( their sauce station is huge) followed by plenty of curry chicken. The vegetables took longer to grill then usual but it was a great experience to grill some of those ourselves. I think the quality of meats are decent and great portions, it also was like an unlimited option for flat fee so come here with a big appetite. I would definitely come back here with a bigger group and even try their private cook room or dine in their beautiful garden. What holds me back from giving this place 5 stars is the drinks, the lemon drop and vodka cranberry felt watered down despite the good prices, you can tell it was cheap liquor. You are better off ordering rounds of hot or cold sake or just getting wine bottles between 25-30 dollars.
My first experience with Korean Hot Pot/ Bbq. Everything was very fresh, server stayed and commandeered the bbq, mostly, while we added the ingredients to our individual soup bases. Could have chosen a cooler day to sit down at a table with 5 heat sources, but a very enjoyable meal, anyway.
Uggghhh!!! I love their food here but it’s so difficult to give a positive review about their service!!ProsOur hot pot came out quickly and it was delicious!ConsHowever, we ordered a couple of items for the hotpot that were not served and were not notified why it wasn’t served. They ran out of rice, never notified us this, and it took 1 hour to make it, only to serve us hard under cooked rice!Don’t order ramen. They will take 45mins to make it! Also, my mom got sick from eating said ramen. Seriously?!They also messed up our bill, charging us extra hotpot. What a mess!
We came at 9:30PM, and it was okay. Only the manager was friendly lol. Maybe because the staff was already tired... I understand... anyway, the hotpot wasnt that tastyUnli bbq wasnt an option because of the pandemic. But the tbone steak was quite tasty while still hot. The ambience was really great though.
Honestly I think this place is horrible. Service was terrible. Explanation of how everything works wasn’t there. Unfortunately communication was not available with anybody that works their. Only thing they new how to communicate every time I asked a question was what the price was. Asked what do you recommend as a favorite and the answer was hot pot or barbecue and then given the price again. After basically figuring things out myself I found the fish to be very FISHY and the beef, lamb and pork to look identical and to have 0 flavor. Not to mention, some of the things I did order never came out. Really disappointed in a new experience and will never go back again. Other than the food smelling like it was spoiling I think if they had the proper workers that were able to communicate and kinda help out on your new experience maybe things would have been different. If I was able to give 0 stars I probably would have
The services were horrible compared to other, 99 Flavors locations. I had to literally tell them what to do, how to served us... smh, I only gave it a 1 star because I still like 99 flavors on the other locations. We really had a bad experience at Staten Island location and highly doubt we will EVER come back here again.
Loved the birthday singing/clapping they do. Didnt realize it was a thing until we got there and heard it for some other people there. Food was great. Service was super fast, everyone was friendly. They also have a great deal for birthday hot pot which was nice to find out about. So glad Staten Island has a hot pot place now!
Hot pot isnt really my thing but aside for that service wasnt great and it doesnt feel like money well spent when you leave. If you like hot pot youll probably like it but otherwise not worth trying ****adding in response to the establishments comments on my review.... I DID NOT REVIEW HOOK & REEL. I reviewed the hotpot place.****
The food was incredible exquisiteThe service was absolutely outstanding they treated us really well they said it was really fast and they were really friendly I definitely recommend this for parents with their kids cuz I went with my two boys and they love the food specially the barbecue part it was amazing
Excellent, entirely renovated location that Totos occupied at one time. Reservations for 4 pm, unfortunately, had to delay reservation by half hour 45 minutes, staff was completely amenable . The staff was both courteous and prompt! My recommendation is to order both the hot pot, as well as the Korean barbecue ( allowing participant to sample both fare)You are offered a plethora of options to choose from, 6 types of broth, a selection of meats (lamb, beef, pork, chicken, seafood, such as shrimp, crab, as well as a vast selection of vegetables. There are four digitally heated areas of hot plates, for the hot pot, and a grill in the center of the table for the barbecue. You have the option of preparing yourself, or allowing a very qualified staff member to prepare for your consumption!!!
First of all this is not an Arirangs hibachi show. From the moment you walk in the aroma from the food being cooked takes you into another world. The service was excellent. You can choose to cook your own, or some one cooking it for you. We chose the latter. You choose the types of meats or seafood, vegetables, noodles or anything else . Everything is cooked in front of you. The prices are very affordable. The atmosphere and the service is nice. Great experience.
Beautiful outside decor and patio but unfortunately this place lacked customer service. When we arrived no one wanted to acknowledge our arrival even though I had a reservation, once finally acknowledged they continuously forgot to bring food/desserts/drinks that we had ordered. To get their attention was absurd as they would look at you and run away as to not do their job. I heard great things but was immensely disappointed.
This was THE WORST dining experience I have ever had. Told the waitress we had never been to a Korean bbq place and she didn’t explain to us anything. The meat was so fatty we couldn’t eat it and they kept bringing us stuff we didn’t order. We got up and told the hostess it was terrible! An hour there and all we ate was the rice. We told then we wouldn’t pay for food we didn’t eat Because it was inedible and didn’t order! Will never be going back.
New restaurant, I believe this is the 4th location. Ive been to the one in Queens, Brooklyn and now this one. This place being new felt the best and the food seemed better than the other places. However, the service here wasnt the best at the time we went, and the other customers were very very loud and obnoxious.. that being said, it seemed way more expensive than the other ones.. at about $100 for 3 guests. Seems you can get all you can eat at many many places now at lots of different price points.. was good but probably not worth the price and the hike to Staten Island unless youre super local.
At the first moment you come to that place team give you a great feeling. Very hospitable waiters, it is a kind place to hang out with buddies or with your date. delightful cooking, experienced chief cook and stuff, reasonable pay and courteous service. Warmly recommended.
Their hot pot menu is a bit limited, its not as expansive as some other hot pot restaurants in Brooklyn, Manhattan, or, Queens, but this is the first hot pot restaurant in Staten Island. It can get quite busy, so expect a wait during dinner time. Their menu may not be big, but what they do have on their menu is quite good.I would recommend doing either hot pot or barbeque and not both unless you enjoy cooking your food more than eating it...
Amazing service from Zoey! She was great help with ordering and also cooking! Very attentive, always making sure that we were okay 👌🏼 My kids loved her and we are very grateful that she was our hostess!! Food was Awsome nice big selection with hot pot and bbq ! Highly recommend this location for 99 favor taste . We will be back ASAP !! Also very convenient hours since I work late hours we were able to get. Table and enjoy the delicious food
Such a great experience. Servers were amazing and very helpful. Food tasted great and the ambiance is really nice.UPDATED REVIEWOriginally wrote my review while in the restaurant and honestly thought it was a great place. After I wrote my review? My whole opinion changed. We had gone for my brothers birthday with a few friends ( a group of 8). Halfway into eating our waitress told us if we checked into yelp and did our review, we’d get free drinks and a free ice cream. Who would say no to anything free? So we all did the reviews and continued to eat. About 10 mins later one of the other servers ask us if we are ready for our ice cream and I said NO because my brother and his other friend were still eating. They had a full plate of food and there was still a lot of meat that hadn’t been eaten. Not even 5 mins later, they come out singing happy birthday for my brother while the poor guy has food in his mouth. You could see him so uncomfortable and I didn’t know until after bc he was having a hard time smiling from the food he had In his mouth. HE didn’t wannabe rude and continue chewing! At that point I was a little annoyed BUT what made it worse??? ANOTHER server came after with our free scoop ice cream and told us it was in a plastic cup so we can eat it on the go. At that point I realized they were rushing us and I didn’t know why at first. As we were eating ice cream and waiting for some friends to use the rest room, servers were rushing to clean our table and remove the plates. I felt so uncomfortable with them reaching over as I tried to eat my ice cream and even more annoyed bc servers were just standing by our table watching us. You could tell they were rushing us to leave and we all felt it.After we were all pressured to rush and get up, I saw a group of teenage girls who were celebrating a sweet 16 waiting and walk over to our table that was now cleaned. Idk how long they were waiting but still doesn’t change the fact that the servers were rude to rush us the way they did. I’ve worked in a restaurant setting before for 6 years and we never rushed customers no matter how long they might’ve taken or how badly we needed the table. You make it work to accommodate all your customers. You don’t try to rush a group to make room for another group.I personally will not be returning for another meal here and will be telling family & friends that they shouldn’t come here either if they don’t like to feel rushed.
Cannot recommend until they upgrade their grilling system for large parties. Small parties are fine. More on the large parties, I went here with a party of twelve individuals and sat around two grills that are good for anywhere between two and four people. The Brooklyn location does the same thing and I was honestly expecting them to have come up with a fix for this new location but nope. We were given a two-hour grill limit, got to order one seemingly large amount of food (which it ended up not being that for twelve people even after we asked how the portions would be for one order of something) and then we had to ration out pieces of meat so that everyone could get a little something. Then we finally finished the first round of food with thirty minutes to spare, had our steak burnt to a crisped jerky-like bacon and left with a belly full of rice. They definitely need to consider revamping their grilling for large parties of people who only want the grilled food and not soup.
I came in last week Monday tried the hot pot and it was such an amazing experience... I came back today a week later to have the hot pot and the bbq ! Prices are great you can choose anything from the menu food is amazing and the staff is very welcoming and friendly! Definitely a must try! Favorite restaurant in the island !!
Great spot! We finally got hotpot and bbq on staten island. So many options, beautiful atmosphere, awesome service.Maybe if you could just devein the shrimp and debeard the mussels for easier fish eating please. I do love fish - squid is delicious. Thanks Zoey for excellent service! We will be back 😄🥘
Hello , well i came straight from work after a long day. This place is the old crown palace it is not a traditional Chinese place, think its a sheng hai type place with a hot pot and electric grill built into table. Very little english in menu just a small word in english like pork or chicken the wait staff also speaks very little english so communicating is a challenge. That being said you have to pick the meats n veg you want in grill and in hot pot but with almost no english is was no easy task once picked the wait staff / grill hand grills up your stuff but everything for the hot pot you are dropping into the hot pot your self Im a chef so cooking after a long day at work is not what i was looking to do in any way plus i splashed my wife with hot broth. Thank god i only stained her shirt. Now the food is high quality fresh and tasty but i would not recomend unless you are familiar with this style or have a chinese wife/ husband/ girlfriend someone that can translate. O and the restaurant itself is very nicely decorated.
It was just ok. Tried most of hotpot menu. Fishball and beefball wasnt good. Fish was decent. Lamb and beef slices was ok, not the best quality. Tofu ok, woodear ok, seaweed no, pork blood ok, tripes ok. Need more variety of veggies. The decor was good, way much better then the previous business. Parking lot could be bigger, can only fit 5 cars. A unique place to try out hotpot. I will come back next time to try the bbq. A bit pricey for what you get.

2022-03-28They have good food quality. The only complaint I have is the price. I understand that inflation/post covid are affecting prices and that they have to make ends meet. Its just, $30pp for lunch is a hard pill to swallow. I still recommend.

2022-04-12This is the first time I have ever tried hot pot and it’s absolutely delicious!!!! There are so many food and drink different options to choose from. They also have a sause bar where you can make your own sauces. The food came out super fast. I must add the bathrooms were the cleanest I have ever been in. Highly recommend!

2021-12-17Really good hot pot! I haven’t tried the Korean BBQ yet but I’m looking forward to trying it soon! Hotpot was delicious and everything was fresh. Make sure if you don’t eat pork to ask for a vegetarian broth base, our waiter was nice enough to suggest it to us! Nice and quick staff and very fair prices!

2022-01-18Hi long review here. Most reviews here are saying they forget to bring some items a table ordered, which proven to be true.We came here for a birthday for a free meal for the birthday individual.Very spacious inside, nice decors and bathroom is cool. Has a open Washing hand area concept along with bathroom stalls which also has a sink inside each stall. Bathroom stall door latch is coolOur host was very nice and pretty, she told us about the QR code menu ordering system. You only order through your phone with the QR code, and some items never come. The ingredients was ok fresh, most items didn’t arrive, and we kept ordering the missing items until it came. We even asked the server about the missing items and our server brought it to us and then the foodrunner comes with the missing items 5 minutes later. But since our server happened to be there, he tells the foodrunner its already on the table. They tend to mess up the bill, so they ask us to confirm before they proceeded.. it was quite the experience.

2022-07-06Try and hold it in if you can, bathrooms are horrendous. We beat the rush and didn’t get our drinks until 20 minutes after ordering and having to ask for them. Sauce bar was missing all the staple ingredients so we weren’t able to enjoy our bbq. Meat was frozen. Hot pot soup base was more like water from a mop bucket. The tap water they served was undrinkable; dirty cups and could not identify what was floating in the water. Sauce bar dishes were also dirty you had to dig to find a clean one. Octopus balls were mushy and not up to par. They don’t take discover card meanwhile their check book has it displayed all over.Besides the unfavorable experience we were graciously assisted by a server who kept coming by and cooked our food for us as soon as we put it on the grill for no reason. This has never happened before at a kbbq restaurant. All in all this was a horrible experience and I’m safe to say I’m never coming back to this establishment.

2022-04-02Ive been going to various hot pot restaurants for several years. 99 Favor Taste is not the best of the bunch in New York City, but it is none the less a solid choice. Nothing is exemplary, but nothing is bad. Think of it as the Starbucks of New York hot pot.

2022-06-04Friendly staff and yummy food. This is why we come back again and again. It is always a treat to spend time with the family with an interactive dinner experience. Love coming here :)

2021-12-15Update: December 14, 2021.Welp, it got more pricey. For HotPot, its $27/person, and BBQ is $30/person now.. ouch. I felt the specialty drinks and cocktails also went up a lot more, ranging to about $4.99 for specialty, and $12 for cocktails. Portions are also smaller for the food, ranging around to about 3 pieces per order, but the good thing is, at least you can always order more if you are hungry still.Everything is still pretty good, but tonight, I felt the staff wasnt as attentive as they usually are. Some of the food I had foe BBQ burned a bit, or was charred. Pork belly was basically pork jerky because it was so overcooked. Some of the staff seemed like they were in a mood tonight too, and I didnt find that too welcoming at all. Trying to overlook it because I know there are a lot of establishments that are understaffed and overworking their workers, but please dont take that frustration out on your customers. Its not fair at all. Go outside and take a breather or something, you are only human after all.Other than that, its still good, just got pricey, and some disgruntled staff. The pandemic has obviously taken a toll on many businesses, but I will keep supporting this location as long as I can. Ended up spending roughly over $100 or so night for two people, so that wasnt fun, but its a once in a while thing, so its alright I guess...Still highly recommended to all, even if its a one time thing to try for you. More fun with friends and family, if you want to go with others.----------------ABSOLUTELY AMAZINGGG.I have always visited the 99 Favor Taste on 8ave, and I always loved it.Since moving to Staten Island, I havent really had a chance to visit the 8ave one anymore. But when a friend told me about one opening up in New Dorp, I had to try it!I went here to celebrate my 23rd birthday, and 4 year anniversary with my husband and son. The staff is super amazing, and very attentive! The food was great, as always. I see new items on their menu, and I was so happy to try new things.I had a great time. You eat free on your birthday! I will be coming back again in the future. This was a wonderful experience. I really love how spacious it is, along with the choice of decor.

2022-05-02Brought my partner’s friend and a couple others for a birthday in anticipation of a great dinner and fun night and received one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had dining out. The food took nearly an hour and a half to even show up at our table, every server we flagged down disregarded us that the restaurant was “busy”, and we never received certain items we ordered. After discussing this with the hostess (I don’t even know if we had an official server for our table), she only apologized and promised our next stay would be better. This is unacceptable service and I strongly encourage those of you considering dining here to take your birthday party or dinner plans elsewhere.
