Beautiful house and property. Great place to stay for a weekend trip or a longer getaway. A cozy cottage with all modern amenities. I’ve spent a number of weekends here—I know the owners—and had lovely stays each time. The beds are incredibly comfortable and the surroundings are idyllic and calming. Definitely recommend for a couple or group trip.

(Disclaimer: I know the owner of the home, but that does not affect the review as it pertains to an Airbnb. In the past 10-15 years, I’ve stayed in 30+ airbnbs in the East Coast area)During the pandemic, we had a month-long stay at A Hidden Sparrow. (I learned the “A” is capitalized because it’s an a-frame)It is completely secluded on 60+ acres of wooded land, but has all the modern amenities. It’s about a 5-10 min drive to the nearest small town that has a grocery store. All-in-all it is a really wonderful retreat. We had a fire almost every night. It was during the summer, so we had it outside (it would’ve been way too hot to have it inside). The stars are amazing on the property. The AC works really well.Sitting by the stream and reading a book was really nice. There had recently been a lot of rain, so it seemed like it was higher than normal. If you swim under the bridge, thats the deepest area on the property. It was a nice spot to cool off on a hot day!The house itself is amazingly comfortable. The beds are awesome, and the down couches are heavenly. I basically would fall asleep on them every time I sat down.It has a dishwasher and washer and dryer. At the time we visited, they were waiting for an outdoor grill to be delivered. The oven is a really cool retro piece from like the 70’s? I was afraid it wasn’t going to work well, but it worked WAY better than the newer one in my brooklyn apartment. (They don’t make ‘em like they used to?)My partner is an awesome chef, and they had all the fancy cooking things you could ever need.If I had one warning, it would be that it’s only 1.5 baths. It was just my partner and I who stayed there the whole time, with a few friends visiting from nearby Albany on the weekends. We had zero issues, but I could see some shower scheduling issues with a full house. Honestly, when my friends and I go away for a long weekend, I rarely shower... so it wouldn’t be a problem for me. HahaWe had some nice hikes on the property. There are little fields in the middle of the woods and some cool car-sized boulders. We saw deer and turkeys, and an eagle! You can also hear owls at night time.I will definitely stay here again. I highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing secluded getaway!
