They did a great job for me! Sean took the time to call me back on a Saturday, and talk with me for 20 minutes about my situation. He even directed me to the AAMaco website to view promotions that they were having on transmission service that month, Which save me money. Plus Mark the mechanic at their East Rochester location stayed in touch with me, and kept me updated.I’m very happy with the service that I was given. Thanks guys!

This Aamco shop exceeds expectations.The transmission in our motor home failed. It sat at the chevy dealer in Victor for 6 weeks - nothing happened. Fed up with them we stopped by the shop in East Rochester to see if they could help. And DID THEY. Monday afternoon they have our motor home towed to the shop pulled and repaired the transmission. We picked up on Wednesday . Thursday we were off to Watkins Glenn - so sweet .Shaun provided awesome communications and even sent a pic of our vehicle up on the lift. If you need transmission service or for that matter any automotive service give them a call.And oh yes they have been East Rochester for approx 30 years
I recently had my manual transmission replaced at East Rochester ,NY location. From my initial call to the completion of the job I can not say enough about my experience. Mark keep me informed at all aspects. He was always professional but personable. He is a true asset to your organization and I highly recommend AAMCO to anyone that needs transmission work.
Wow, thats about all I can say! They checked over my car, and said I was down a few quarts of fluid, but they did not know which part of the transmission was leaking. They refilled it, and told me to drive it for a week and come back. No charge! The following week they checked it again, saw that I was again down fluid, and diagnosed the problem (not repairable), with the options being to put fluid in as needed, or replace the transmission (which they did not recommend for my 2006 Honda), again, no charge! Ill be back.
This is stablish mint was honest fair reasonable and their service was just outstanding their customer service was a plus I will be returning again along with my three sons vehicles
Great service!I brought my car to the East Rochester location when my transmission died, and worked with Shaun. He was fantastic! Very thorough, very professional and friendly. The cost was slightly lower than some other quotes I received.I thought they were only a transmission shop, so Id never been there until I needed a transmission. It turns out, they do all repairs and services, so Ill be bringing my car there for everything. I highly recommend! Excellent work, excellent customer service, and good prices.

While I live in New Mexico, I grew up in Rochester and still have family here. Sometimes I drive back and have never found a mechanic I love until I found Shaun. He is excellent, professional, friendly, easy-going, and extremely competent. And his rates were extremely affordable. I liked him immediately and from now on will always use him when I am in Rochester. He was a great find! I highly recommend him!

I coasted into Shauns shop about 18 months ago with a blown clutch and no appointment. Shaun took a look, gave me a quote, and his team got to work. I had to have a clutch done in my Audi A5 the girl Vanessa who took my call was extremely helpful and super understanding. Went out of her way to help. And the tech and ppl at the location I went to were also extremely helpful and kept me up to date on everything during The Whole process. Great experience, had a transmission fail and they were quick to get an estimate of options and then a quick turn to install the transmission. Fair pricing and great to work with. Will definitely be taking my car there for other work.
Took my 2012 Mazda CX-9 in to have the brakes checked because I was feeling pulsations in the pedal. Mark called me in the morning and quoted a very good price for new front rotors and pads, plus lubricating and servicing the rear brakes. They also let me know that my tires were wearing down, and provided several recommendations for replacements (which Ill take care of before the winter). The car was ready to pick up later that afternoon. Great service and prices that are more than fair. Plus they didnt try to sell me things I didnt need. Ill definitely be returning when I need additional service on my car.
From beginning to end I had a great experience. The new service manager was able to have my serpentine belt, oil, and wind shield wiper blades changed in no time on top of getting my vehicle inspected! Would highly recommend to everyone that wants honest work done while experiencing great customer service!! 😊
We had intermittent electrical issues with the transmission of an older model car. The problem has been fully resolved thanks to AAMCO of East Rochester. Shaun and his team provided us with outstanding professionalism and courteous service. I was very impressed with the experience of their senior level technicians. Ill continue to bring all of our family vehicles to this location since they offer full auto maintenance and repair services.
These guys were fantastic from the front desk to the guys in the shop. Came to get brake pads put on and had a couple personal concerns with the work needing to be done— they talked it out and worked with me and got me in and out of there quickly and smoothly! I will be giving them my business for the rotors I’ll need in a few months and most of my other auto needs in the future.
Stay away. They have a polite smooth talking employee to work with customers but the work done is garbage. We had our shop van trans rebuilt by them.It still slipped and we took it back under warranty. They claimed to have adjusted it but it was not improved. Now its under new management and the new customer service employee reached out to us. We explained our disappointment and he assured us he could take care and would take into consideration that we spent $2,200 with them for a rebuilt transmission. After leaving the van they never bothered to call us back. When we finally called them they want $495 to diagnose what they didnt do right initially. Crazy! Please go somewhere else and think twice about trusting them.
When my transmission failed and my usual auto shop conveyed that they did not do transmission work, I read some reviews on line and consequently called AAMCO in East Rochester. I had my car towed there and met the proprietor, who was most personable and helpful. In a very short time I was presented with three options and careful explanations of each. Being as well informed as I could be, I made my choice. My decision dictated that a transmission had to be ordered and shipped. When the shipping company fell short of their promised delivery date, the owner of this AAMCO shop was most apologetic and seemed to feel personally responsible. Even after the new transmission was installed and I was picking up the car, I was still the recipient of apologies for an issue that was well beyond the control of the proprietor. I remain impressed with his sense of responsibility.In the process of the transmission work, another unrelated issue was brought to my attention. When I had determined that the concern was indeed valid, I was again given options and explanations to guide my decision on how to proceed. I elected to have the work done, and it was completed quickly.I feel that the costs for the work received were clearly inline with other sources. I can state without hesitation that all interactions with the personnel of this facility were polite and professional. I will certainly not hesitate to use this shop in the future.
Shaun is amazing.. If it was not for him me an my fiance would if never got through this. He is so loyal an so sweet, he made this whole process so easy. My engine light had come on and I originally brought my car to a different auto repair shop that wanted to charge me a ton for a major tune up. I then took it to AAMCO for a second opinion. AAMCO found that the engine light was no longer on and the engine was running smoothly. They told me it looks fine and to bring it back if the problem recurred.They didnt charge me a single cent. I thought it was only fair to leave a 5 star review so that others could know about this honest, upstanding shop.
Superb work and customer service and good prices. Highly recommended. While driving our 31 foot Class C Winnibago motorhome on 90 West near Rochester NY, we experienced transmission issues that needed prompt attention. We googled transmission repair services and found AAMCO in East Rochester,NY. Upon arrival, they immediately diagnosed and started working on the problem which resulted in a complete transmission rebuild. They had the work completed the following afternoon. This location was very professional and courteous the staff was amazing and very helpful and explained into detail my problem options and the best one for me which way to go!! After diagnosis and I choose they were very quick to get my vehicle fixed and going in a timely manner and were very helpful making sure I had a ride home and to pick up my vehicle. I am a senior women and had been told by a dealership service center that my transmission needed a very expensive repair. I went to AAMCO in East Rochester seeking a comparative estimate. The very honest owner and mechanic told me that the transmission was fine and needed no repair. I am so grateful to them and highly recommend them to my friends, family, and anyone needing good, honest car service.
The reviews proved true for us--I have nothing but great things to say. We had been told by a major dealer in the area that we shouldnt put any more money into our Toyota Tacoma, which has less than 100,000 miles on it, and they were steering us toward buying a new vehicle. We got a second opinion from Shaun and he fixed everything for $900. He seemed to really care about doing the right thing and he educated us along the way.

Very satisfied with Shawn I had a series of car issues my main being my son purchasing and audi that need special tools etc... Because I wanted my son to go thru the lovely experience of forigen car ownership as a learning experience He did most of the correspondence with shawn about transmissions etc... unsolicited shawn explained what was happening and rectified the problem with professionalism and patience. especially with a 19 year old client very prompt and good communication . I will be using him now as my main mechanic .

This location has great customer service. Of all the places I called this week they were only place that was friendly and told me just like it was. They werent rude about it and they described all of the issues that my car was having in great detail and they were patient about my questions. I have brought my car here in the past and I will definitely be bringing it here in the future.
My passenger power window stopped working, but the driver side was ok. Took the car in to AAMCO and the guys figured out that I had accidentally tripped the switch to disable the power windows. No charge (for driver error). These guys are honest and gracious, in addition to being smart.

I had a Certified Buick dealer do $3800 worth of work to my SUV. The car still had the same issues. Was told it would be another $2000 and they could not gaurentee it would rectify the issue. Came to Aamco for a second opinion and $99.00 later the issue (and more) were resolved. 4000 miles later..Im back today for an oil change.
Jim and Rick were SO great and exceptional. They fixed what was needed to be fixed without taking advantage of me, and even taught me a few things in the process. It was the day before my written board exam (which I passed!) and I was stuck in Rochester (still needing to traveling to the exam and all the way to Buffalo) with a car that wouldnt accelerate. These guys took a look, were able to troubleshoot and get me out of there in a little over an hour. They were life savers! I highly recommend these guys to anyone in the area.
Mark gave me an excellent run down of the issue and my potential solutions. Repair was super fast, and the price was much better than other companies were offering. Great service, AAMCO!

I really believe that this shop is doing very little when “overhauling” transmissions. My vehicle is still not right after an overhaul. Since it is hard to know what is really is done during an overhaul all you can judge it by is how it works after the repair. Next time I will know to go elsewhere. Expensive lesson.

2022-06-21Great help with Vanessa who did a very complete job on the car transmission. The contract included detail of how the work would be completed, where to get the best repair and better parts to bring everything today. She called during the week, went out of way to communicate all the data I needed. All the work was done professional and completely care. I would come back again if we had the work (which I hope will not need soon). I give 5 stars to the effort and completion. Thank you to Vanessa and the employees who made it completed correctly!

2022-06-22I high recommend this place, Shaun is excellent, honest and gets things done. I was in the auto business off and on for 20 years and this place delivers exactly what every car owner wants. An honest experience with straight forward answers and no BS. They replaced my torque converter in one day after dropping it off with no appointment. This is one of the last places that does exactly what they promise. I will be bringing all my families cars here for repair.

2022-06-28Excellent job! It was a trying time as my 2008 is my baby and it needed a new transmission (manual). It was a process to get the right parts in due to lack of supply and my car being so old. Shaun and Vanessa were rather patient with me. But, he and Vanessa found the part finally. Once fixed, I had to return two times. Once because as I was driving away after the fix, my radio and AC dash lights started blinking on and off. Thinking he may have loosened something while working on my transmission, Shaun researched this problem and fixed it. It was nothing to do with the transmission fix. It was a coincidence that it happened the day I drove away with a new transmission. He texted us his research...google sites. We were most appreciative. He did not charge us for this. About a month later, I returned as my clutch started sticking to the floor board. He feared this had to do with a bushing only Subaru had (on back order). He had previously devised his own repair. This time, he tweaked and adjusted it but said Subaru needed to look at it. Subaru just called me and their head mechanic said Shaun did a great job and they thought the clutch /transmission was fine. It might have just needed some adjustments which again, Shaun did for me yesterday. Honest, knowledgeable, trustworthy and patient! Highly recommend!

2022-01-03Our Tahoe’s transmission went after only 6 years. Our Dealership was busy so I went to Google and found AAMCO… so glad I did!!!! This place is amazing. Vanessa kept us informed every single step of the way. They let you know exactly what is going on and I never once had to call them. They worked with our warranty people and we got a new transmission and only had to pay our deductible. They made what should have been a giant pain…just another repair. I can’t say enough about them!!! Vanessa really is the heart of the company!! I would 100% only go to them for any repairs in the future!!!!
