AAMCO Transmissions & Total Car Care in other cities:
I was having issues with my car and needed it looked at immediately. AAMCO had a busy schedule and told me to drop off my car with the understanding that they may not be able to look at it for a couple of days. To my surprise they were able to look at it within a couple of hours and made an accurate determination of the issue. Instead of selling me on them doing the work and trying to upsell me on other services, they told me to go to the dealership, tell them whats wrong, and that it should be covered under warranty. I took it to the dealership, they did their own diagnostic review and came back with exactly what AAMCO told me, saving me $2000 plus! I recommend this honest shop to anyone looking to deal with good, honest people.
When the time comes to go to a mechanic it can become overwhelming. Where do you go? Who can you trust? How much will it cost? Thankfully my husband and myself will have to look no further and finally found a home. Ray from Aamco Transmission & Total Care in New Windsor gave us that feel of family. The staff was kind, personable and most of all honest. (All that you can ask for in customer service.) Once our vehicle was reviewed, we were advised of the cost, the time it would take to complete the service, and when we could drop off our vehicle. Everything went according to plan. Customer service contacted us (on the day agreed upon) that our vehicle was ready. I am very grateful to have found this mechanic shop and would recommend it as your first choice. Thank you Aamco for your dedication to us, Carlos & Jacki.
They are professional they what they’re talking about. I took my 2017 Hyundai Tucson for a and didn’t check up which they did check it and they said that it had engine issues they referred me to a Honda company and told me that I had warranty and that I should take it over there so I did . turns out I did have warranty and they are going to fix my engine for free I don’t have to pay a dime and that’s the kind of mechanic I will always go to for my vehicles. honest mechanics Hard to come by nowadays specially if you’re a female . if it was someone else they would’ve charged me just because they wanna make a buck. For that I’m very thankful I will be taking my vehicle for regular oil and everything else that needs to be done for my vehicle to AAMCO in new Windsor.
I needed some major repairs done on a used car that I had purchased less then 2 yrs ago, with a warranty. Mark was always friendly, very informative and very patient with my constant phone calls. He kept me updated on what was going on with the adjuster and my car. I had truly lost all faith in finding a honest mechanic and Mark proved he is one of the good ones. I will be taking my car to Aamco for as along a I live in this area.
I was in town with my 2015 Mustang GT and my ABS and Traction control light came on. My buddy recommended Aamco to me. I called and spoke to Mark and we set up an appointment. I arrived at the shop a few minutes early and was greeted by Mark and Ray. They took my car in quickly and diagnosed the problem to be a wheel speed sensor. They gave me a reasonable price and authorized the repair. The car was repaired quickly while I waited and I was back on the road with no problems. These guys are professional and courteous and treated me fairly. I need to find a local shop like this in my home state of South Carolina! Kudos ✌️
I highly recommend Aamco New Windsor. Mark at the front desk is friendly, personable and professional. Hes always willing to take the time to explain the repair details. Mike is the auto technician who has done quite a bit of work on my vehicle. He is extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of a car. When quoted a repair price I have gone online to see how they compare and Aamco New Windsor has always offered fair pricing.
I recently visited AAMCO in New Windsor, NY as there was an issue with my transmission and my check engine light had come on. When I called to make an appointment, Mark the manager at the business was helpful and professional over the phone. When I went to drop off my car at my scheduled time, I was pleased to say that the waiting room was completely closed so that I was the only customer allowed in. I stayed clearly 6 ft away or more from the desk to conduct business and Mark made sure to disinfect the pen I used to sign paperwork, as well as disinfecting my keys with Lysol spray when I turned them in. It was comforting to see them taking such responsibility. In regard to the work on my car, Mark made sure to call and confirm a diagnostic test that had to be run on my car to see if it was an electrical problem as opposed to a transmission replacement. I appreciated him checking before running the diagnostics. Furthermore, after confirming it was electrical, AAMCO was able to make repairs easily and quickly. They very well could have tried to take advantage of the situation and tell me I needed something new with my transmission or a full replacement, but they did not. They were honest and forthcoming with information which is very welcome to see.The work they did was thorough and their professional treatment has assured that I will return to their business for my automotive needs. Thank you to the entire team at AAMCO, and Mark for all his service.
I had problems with my car shuttering every time I accelerate. Couldn’t figure out the problem and I called this shop. The people are very friendly and knowledgeable. I brought my car in to have them check it and they found the problem immediately. They repaired the problem and my car has been running smoothly ever since repaired. I couldn’t have asked for a better repair shop than them and knowledgeable technicians. I highly recommend them to anyone. Five stars for excellent service and knowledgeable and courtesy!! Thank you for your help!!
I was immediately impressed from the very first phone call where I was happily greeted and all my issues heard and taken note of. The excellent service continued over the entire process. I was never made to feel like my calls and inquiries were an inconvenience. The work was immaculate as was the office! I can’t say enough about the timeliness, high quality and superior value provided at the New Windsor Aamco.Although I’d prefer not have any auto issue, in the event I do I know the only choice are these lovely people.
They replaced my transmission and installed a complete transfer case under warranty. The transfer case has leaked since installation and they replaced it once but left exhaust loose and it still leaks now since COVID hit they say sorry but it’s out of warranty now so too bad . Manager refuses to hear you out just says he’ll look s as t it but I’ll have to pay for repairs even if the unit leaked from day one because it’s out of Warrenty. If they had installed the unit correctly maybe it wouldn’t have leaked since my original transfer case didn’t leak for over 100k miles till they replaced it.
This shop came highly recommended by a friend. My check engine light was on. I stopped in and was greeted by Mark. It was an oxygen sensor, which was ordered and replaced. The price was reasonsble. This shop is very professional and the staff courteous. I will surely have my vehicle serviced here again.
Ray is the most helpful, caring business owner I’ve come across in a long time. In a time where great customer service is hard to find you’ll get it here. I randomly stopped in to get my BMW serviced, I’ve never been there before. Ray took care of my car right away. When he found other issues that needed to be addressed he wrote up a fairly priced estimate, no pressure, and told me when I was ready to call and he’d replace the parts I needed. It’s nice to meet a mechanic that knows his trade inside and out but doesn’t try to take advantage of you!
This place is amazing. I bring my car here whenever I have trouble with it. They have no problem squeezing me in and letting me know what’s up. I get my oil changes done and any other work that’s needs to be taken care of. I always know the job will be done correctly. I had to bring my car in because my serpentine belt broke. Mark who works there called me to let me know the pricing and he said he wasn’t sure if he would be able to get my car done. I called back two hours later and my car was complete. I was so grateful to him and the other gentlemen that works there. My car is running like new! Thank you so much to everyone that had a helping hand in getting my car fixed. I would recommend this place to anyone. Pricing is very reasonable and you will be a happy customer just as I am!Thank you very much AMMCO TEAM!!!
These guys were great. Honest and super helpful. Marc is the best.Update: about a month after we got our transmission redone, we totaled our car. Marc even gave us (super helpful) advice about how to talk to our insurance company about reimbursing us for our new transmission. Talk about going above and beyond! Thanks Marc!
My battery died in my 2004 BMW X3 and I tried to change it myself - big mistake. Although I was able to start the car, there were warning lights all over the dash and it just wasnt driving right. My daughter lives up in the New Windsor area and told be about the brake and tire work the AAMCO there did on her Jeep Wrangler. I said, wait, dont they only do transmissions? She said nope, they do it all now, so I took a chance and drove up from Stony Point to see the owner, Ray. I told him I was going to wait for the work so he put me right into the queue. I wasnt there but for maybe a little over an hour, and it was all fixed. The guy is a genius, and explained what he had to do to clear the warning lights and tweak the engine. And it was pretty reasonable, from a pricing standpoint. I had no idea these guys could handle a BMW and NOT for transmission work. SO glad I made the drive to New Windsor. Give them a chance and you wont be disappointed. Ask for Ray!
My experience at your store in New Windsor NY was satisfying. Fairly good customer service. However, your pricing is just too high. This is my second stop at the store to fix a bad transmission, and on both occasions I had to go elsewhere. AAMCO needs to offer a reasonable pricing system whereas a customer can realistically want to have their vehicle serviced there. Up to $5000 on both occasions, and I got it done elsewhere for less than $1500. Not saying to sell the store, but make it AFFORDABLE.Thanks
I cant recommend these guys highly enough. I was having trouble with my 2003 Santa Fe, and I was told by several people that the problem was with my transmission. I brought to AAMCO, and they knew right away that it was a catalytic converter problem. They replaced it and my car ran great. When it finally came time to replace the transmission (years later) they did not try to force me to purchase a brand new unit. Mark, the manager, took the time to explain all of the options and costs with me. Taking into consideration the state of my budget and the age of my car, he suggested going with the cheapest option, a used transmission. Thanks to Ray, Mark and their crew, they kept my car alive and healthy for several years longer than I would have otherwise expected. I will definitely keep bringing my car to them.
I had a transmission rebuilt and my fuel pump replaced in the span of a month. Service personnel were great and super informative. They worked around my busy law enforcement duty schedule and even let me check the work as it was in pogress. They clearly explained the job and its details, including letting me check out the parts. My unit is running 100 percent. Highly recommended.
It’s always good to find someone you trust when bringing in your vehicle to get repaired. They make sure it’s done right and let you know exactly what’s going on with your vehicle . Their quality and care is reflected in their customer service. I would recommend ! Keep up the good work.
Ray the owner is a man that truly knows what he is doing. He is very professional and very funny. His wife who handles the phone calls is very courteous. I was there for major maintenance on my engine if you are worried about high cost Ray will be more than happy to help you apply for the Aamco credit card which will help you pay for the expenses all you need is credit! I would definitely recommend this place to others. You wont find better service anywhere else.
Ray and his staff have been very helpful with assisting me with any issues I’m having with my 2005 Jeep. Rebuilt my transmission over a year ago and has been very supportive & responsive with other mechanical questions/problems I’ve had since. Great to have a reliable mechanic that’s provided me great service.
I had a crack on my oil pan that had to be replaced. Mark was very attentive to my concerns, ordered the part, and had it replaced very quickly. Mark was reasonable with the pricing. Definitely recommend this location because of the very positive overall customer experience.
Mark at AAMCO was extremely helpful when our truck broke down. He coordinated a tow to his shop, quoted a fair and reasonable price for a remanufactured transmission, and answered all of our questions. He also checked on the vehicle after ten days to make sure we were satisfied with the work. I would highly recommend Mark and his shop.
If I could give six stars I would. Ray and his crew went above and beyond to help when our transmission went out while driving through Newburgh. He answered his work phone on a Sunday when the office was closed, helped get my car towed to his shop, and repaired the transmission quickly and professionally, staying late to finish the job. He even called the next day to make sure I got home OK. This is seriously the best car repair experience I have ever had. If I lived anywhere nearby I would be a loyal customer for life.
This was my first time using AAMCO in New Windsor and I was thoroughly impressed. From start to finish, Ray was professional, courteous and clear about everything that was being worked on for my car. He even drove me home himself while they worked on my vehicle. All of the repairs were done in one day, and when I picked up the car that afternoon, it drove beautifully. I will certainly be bringing my car back for any needs I have. Well done, AAMCO.
My 2014 Silverado was locked in 4 wheel drive, I took it to one place that told me I needed a transfer case, and it was gonna cost me $3800.00,I decided to take it to this shop on a recommendation from a friend for a second opinion,A couple of hours after dropping it off,ray the owner called me and said the transfer case control module just needed to be reprogrammed, and it cost me less than $100.00!Their honesty will have me going back!
I came in without an appointment and he fit me in within two hours. Then we had a mixup on the price of the oil change due to the wording of the coupon. Without hesitation he just said no problem I’ll take care of it. Excellent service and a gentleman to boot. Will definitely give him my business from here are in.
Good service at a great price! The only improvement I could suggest would be a little quicker service. I came in for an 8:30 a.m. appointment for an oil change and drove away an hour and fifteen minutes later. Otherwise, fully satisfied and will likely be a repeat customer.
Not as good as it used to be, since they let go of the old manager, they have become a place you dont want to get ripped off. That is why I went to star quality, ( you can see my review there. ) the owner took over as manager for a while, and he would give an inch. And the quality of workmanship has gone down, I had a O2 sensor repaired, and had to go back 3 times for it to be fixed, and then is was never fixed correctly. ( the reason I went to star quality.). I will never go back there again.
When the transmission blew in one of our trucks, I didnt know where to turn since this wasnt something weve had to deal with before. I was concerned about using my local repair shop for this kind of major repair, so I sought out a transmission specialist. Had my concerns about using someone new to work on our trucks. When I called and spoke to the person who answered (Ray), I immediately knew I had called the right place. The entire experience, from start to finish was a very easy. These guys really know their stuff, but what was most impressive was how well I was treated throughout the process. Their price was fair, and the warranty is great. I will most definitely use AAMCO of New Windsor again, especially since I learned they do so much more than just transmissions. I thought all they did was Tranny service and repairs, but as it turns out they do it all.
Had multiple issues to fix on my car. From broken exhaust, to brakes and radiator. Mark and the mechanics were all friendly and realistic about how to fix my vehicle. They found the best and affordable ways to repair my 14 year old Jeep. Quality service and fast turn around.
Installation of rebuilt transmission. Service manager Mark was very courteous & informative. Car drives smoothly & no issues other than check engine light issue. Was advised to bring car back after about 10 days for routine check-up, which I did. Check engine light had come on in the meantime, then off again by the time car was brought back to the shop. Diagnosis was completed & no trouble codes found. Mark advised that might have to cycle thru a few times. Came back on again, now off & seems to be staying off. Will monitor.
Brought my vehicle in for a second opinion after getting an expensive run around by a Meineke shop. Told Ray the story and he immediately knew the issue. Replaced the wrong converter with the correct one and have had no problems. That’s the difference between an experienced owner and parts changers. Story is; Had a check engine light, stopped into a local Meineke and was told my fuel cap was bad. Replaced the cap, reset the computer and drove off. 10 minutes later the check engine light came back on. Took it back and they then said it was an O2 sensor. Replaced the O2 sensor and next day...you guessed it, check engine light. Took it back and now they said I needed a catalytic converter. Replaced that, and...yup! Check engine light again. Went to Aamco and Ray immediately knew that my specific vehicle required an OEM catalytic converter due to the sensitivity of the computer. Fixed it correctly the first time.
I gave a deposit for parts and to secure my spot in line to have the work done. I even asked Mark the shop manager to call me when the part arrived. He didnt. I called in two days later to see if the part arrived. Which it did but, they didnt have any open spots for me. I asked for a refund and they did not want to give me a refund, instead they gave me the part. My recommendation: reconsider coming here.
Incredible is the only way I can describe the customer service this place has. I can’t forget the MVP himself Mark, extremely knowledgeable about his work and very dependable since he is always keeping you up to date with the service being provided. Definitely going to be my go to shop whenever I’m having car issue.
After leaving a bad review on here for the horrendous service we received some time ago, we got a call from AAMCOs newest owner. We were extremely happy to hear that the crooks who previously ran this establishment were no longer employed and was now owned and operated by Ray. We were happy that Ray not only reached out to us but is willing to help us fix the problem we paid just about a $1000 with nothing left but a transmission in pieces put into the back of our trunk for our own assembly. Hes reasonable and down to earth and really someone I feel should have been running this place a long time ago. I really look forward to being a customer and will let you all know how it goes.
STAY AWAY!. A diagnostic was done on my car by this shop. I was told there was a carbon build-up in my engine and belttightner not good. I was told there was nothing wrong with my transmission, two day after i picked up my car the transmission stopped working. I had my car towed back to aamco, I was told I would have to pay to have the transmission fixed although it was misdiagnosed by them. If anyone has a problem with a shop, go to the DMV website and report it
Ray literally just saved me $5,000! My 2009 Subaru Outback recently broke down. The car dealership service center Ive used in the past told me my car needed a new transmission and quoted me $5400. I knew something wasnt right. I called Ray at AAMCO the next morning. After speaking to him I decided to have car towed to AAMCO and in less than 5 min of being up on the lift, they found the actual issue to be a broken axle, a $460 fix (w labor). NO Problem with my transmission. Thank you for being so honest.... Take your cars here folks- its worth it!
Professional, reliable and timely!! Brought in my car and dreaded the outcome especially as a female because mechanics tend to rip off the ladies since a lot of us don’t have experience with cars, but these guys were very fair, honest, knowledgeable and helpful! Will recommend to anyone. My car was finished within a full day :)
To start with, this is a real review....If youre dead in the water 500 miles from home, this is the kind of place you want to get towed to. AAMCO is a national chain but the service you get here will be anything but impersonal. This franchise is owned by Ray and Becky, friendly and decent people who went out of their way to get this stranded motorist back on the road for home. Towed to their shop at 4 in the afternoon, I had envisioned days sitting in a hotel room waiting for my truck. By noon time the next day I had major transmission problems taken care of and was back on the interstate.
I needed a new clutch for my 2009 matrix. I was blown away with the diligence and professionalism these guys demonstrated. Not only did they use their connections to get me a deal on the rental, they were done everything in less than 24hrs!They even showed me the old clutch (it was completely bare) and taught me the relevant information.I will definitely recommend this branch to anyone that speaks of transmission issues (or anything similar). You can really trust these guys.Fantastic work guys, it shifts like a brand new sport car!
Went to Aamco in Newburgh when I had transmission issues. They told me I needed a new transmission when in reality my transmission overheated. It threw codes and caused me to lose my higher gears. I brought the car somewhere else had the fluid flushed and I have been driving the car for 3 days now with no issues at all, no lights on the dash or performance issues. Already put another 500 miles on the car and it cost me under $500 instead of $2500 to $5500 depending on which rebuilt transmission I took.
I was slightly nervous when I walked into a highly rated business and found out it was under new management, and they only took over two weeks ago. I knew I couldnt trust the old reviews but I took a gamble anyway. The new owners were great. My new clutch and transmission work was done professionally and fast. There was a delay to getting my car back on time, but it was because they wanted to make sure they had the right part and I never had to worry about the clutch for a while. I cant recommend this place or the new owners any more. If you have a transmission in need and live in the Hudson valley give these guys a shot
I will give them 2 stars as the guy in front was nice, and my car came out fine. But my wife went in to pick up our car and noticed the guy from the front was in the shop working, when she walked by she noticed a pony tailed guy on the side of the building smoking what smelled like pot. She had our youngest with her. I couldnt believe it when she told me, while the work was good, I dont think we will be bringing our cars there. My daughter doesnt need a contact high while picking up her car and I dont need someone high working or driving my vehicle.Response to the owner: we really have no time to go over semantics, I would suggest sending the ponytailed guy in for a drug test then, my wife said it was and I quote “dank” not a cigarette. Just unprofessional and not something we want to be around.
First time to this business and have to say it was a great first experience. The manager on staff, Carlo, very professional, very courteous, very knowledgeable, he and his staff are a great The crew of technicians were also equally as great. Carlo is a credit to Aamco and this location. Would recommend this business to anyone. Were we will be doing our repairs from now on.
This store is at the top of the auto repair heap! Thanks to Ray and the whole crew for their help keeping my car on the road. Not only did they jump right on the repair, but they also explained what is needed to make sure I avoid the same problem. When AAMCO says TOTAL car care...they obviously mean it...especially in New Windsor!
Im new to the area and have a hard time trusting anyone, other than myself, to work on my car. This time, however, I couldnt do the work on my own. I was extremely happy with the service, the communication, and how personable Brian was.I will definitely be using them again when the need arises.
Had a transmission replaced in 2017, spent extra money for a Ford re manufactured transmission. 13 months later no reverse. Good news is its under warranty. Bad news it sat at Aamco 3 weeks when they told me I would be better off bringing it to a dealer for warranty repair, they will be able to replace it faster then they can. At this point its been sitting at the dealer for 3 weeks now still not fixed. Told wont be until after January 1st. Without vehicle for 2 months by the time this warranty repair is fixed. Way to stand behind the products you sell.
Went for a transmission flush. Ray and the manager were nice people. 6 months later engine light comes on. I also had a recall on truck so went to dealer. Dealer says engine light is transmission code. They take down pan and find 1. Seal was put on wrong and had fallen. 2. The canister filter was loose causing air to mix with fluid. Another service was done by dealer. This from a transmission shop!! Will not return.
Had a transmission problem. Called AAMCO and talked to them. I explained what was happening and they told me what the problem was. They sent a tow truck to get my car. They checked it out and it was the same thing they explained on the phone. That was on a Tuesday. I told them I had to rent a car and they said they would get it fixed asap. They called me at work Thursday morning and told me it was repaired. I picked it up after work. I would recommend them to all.....Very friendly
My 2003 Chevy truck had a reoccurring problem with reverse. It would just stop backing up. It had been in for service twice at another shop. When the problem happened a third time I went to AAMCO in New Windsor, New York. They found an corrected the problem. Im very happy with their service and highly recommend their shop.
Just had major xmsn work done, while travelling. The staff were more than accomdating with my situation.additionally, the follow up service was great they worked around my schedule to ensure the issues we identified were completely resolved. I would recommend this aamco to anyone looking for maintenance accompanied by outstanding service.
I’ll give this place -5 stars. Save yourself the headache! For more then 50 years in service they should go around to there 600 stores and see what’s really going on. Customer care is no help either . All your going to hear is I’m sorry , I’m sorry, I’m sorry but... For the b.s I was given I should of said I’m sorry I only have this much when I paid the bill and seen what they would of said then !!
I went in for an inspection and my break light was on..anywhere else i have gone in the past they would have told me i needed a full break job this costing a fortune...but at Aamco they found it was just a bad break line. The service was honest and excellent and i would recommend this shop to anyone.
Went in for a diagnosis because of a sound on front drivers side and was told by ray I needed about $1000 brake job, got a second opinion and was told my heat shield was rubbing. Mechanic bent it back in place problem solved, when I do need brakes I will not be going to aamco
Seriously I dont recommend this place they just try to get the money. I went there think that car has a transmision problem and I ask them what is the real problem and they told me yes it is the transmision and they charge me $6000 to rebuild the transmission and $3400 to replace it they were try to convince me that I should change the transmision. So I just take off my car from them and I when to other guy y he told me that the problem of the Car is the fluel pump and he just charge me $100... I recommend you dont believe what they said try to get another opinion from somewhere else .
Mark does not know how to do business and speak with customers. He was rude and inconsiderate and tried to hustle and hurry me. His philosophy was that be doesnt have time for one customer because he has to deal with another. Terrible business concept. Learn how business works Mark...
Ray, Mark, & Team definitely helped us in a real pickle. We were stranded at a Walmart bc our transmission died on our truck while pulling our trailer to camp. Ray used his personal truck and helped us hitch our trailer and tow to our campsite while they worked on getting a rebuilt transmission sent over and installed into our truck. We couldnt appreciate him and his staff more for going above and beyond in our time of need. It cost me a pretty penny of $45oo with parts and labor and some delays but in the end service was great and our truck has done atleast 3000 miles in a month with no issues. Thanks again.

2022-06-14Very very unprofessional at the Aamco at 295 Windsor Highway New Windsor, NY 11553!I struggled to get over $3000 to get my transmission and other stuff fixed at Aamco, big mistake. I had my transmission “rebuilt” and it didn’t even last me a year. I had it rebuilt this past September, it lasted me til a few days ago and as you can see, the transmission light is once again on and it’s doing the same thing that I originally had come in for. All the money I spent to only have a 6 month warranty? That’s ridiculous! My other guy who I normally regularly take me to even said that a 6 month warranty on a worn out rebuilt transmission for what I paid is absurd and he spoke poorly of you guys. Yes, I would’ve taken it to my regular mechanic but unfortunately at the time l, he was completely booked so Aamco was my last resort. I’m a single mother of two on maternity leave. It was hard enough coming up with all that cash the first time around so now this? I complained to corporate and some woman, Charlene called me back and lacked empathy. She never apologized for my experience and just reiterated to me about me having a 6 month warranty. I’m livid I had to pay thousands to have this transmission not even last me a full year!!!!!Please, whoever is reading reviews, DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO AAMCO! And especially being a female, you’ll get ripped off, please don’t do it!PS-“work with me” is not an answer I’m looking for. I used to be in retail management, I know all the key phrases and that won’t work with me. I may not be knowledgeable about cars, but I have over 10 years experience in retail management and your response wasn’t acceptable. You guys tricked me into this deal and I was told the transmission was supposedly rebuilt. My mechanic who was busy the day I brought it to you guys even said you guys gave me a bad transmission so why would I come back to your store? I’m not wasting any more money in your company again, I’ll make sure I get everyone I know on here to give the shop a negative review. I’m on maternity leave, I don’t have money to waste. I can’t even buy myself new clothes. Thank you for making me have to sell my car :(

2022-07-05Everyone one at the shop is great!! They reached out to my warranty company and explained to me what was going on and what options I have. They kept me up to date on what was happening. If I had any questions even minor stupid one Mark or Ray were able to explain it to me. Always a pleasure to have a shop that cares about their customers and not just looking to make a buck and get you out. I highly recommend them to anyone with a small to major repair! Thank you!!

2022-03-24From the moment my wife called them they were nothing but professional. We were trying to find the best rate for what needed to be done also.He called her back after looking at it and gave her the exact price and gave her a breakdown of everything. It was also all done in one day which was great. They were amazing from start to finish. They made her feel comfortable and you can believe we’ll be using them again going forward.

2022-06-18Mark, was the nicest guy to assist me with my transmission service and My shocks n Axles. The best prices available. The car drove like it was brand new. Highly recommended.

2022-02-15I ended up in a pinch when my transmission went on the Thruway one Sunday and had the car towed here as the closest transmission repair per Google Maps. I live out of state and didn’t have any local knowledge and zero options. I’m glad that Mark was straight up with me and gave me a fair and honest assessment of repairs needed. A really professional outfit.

2022-01-02After replacing transmission twice in the first two and on half years of owning this twenty year old handicap van, I brought it to AAMCO with the hope of finding out why the check engine light kept reappearing with the same transmission codes coming up. Mark took my van and told me that I did indeed need another new transmission. He put in a rebuilt one for $4000. Once I got it back, the check engine light came back on the same day with the same codes. The van was returned to Mark who swore that I did need the rebuilt transmission and that I had not just been ripped off for $4000. Ray, the owner, called to tell me that the problem was traced to the ignition switch which was causing the computer to generate the transmission problem codes. $450 later, I received the van back. The same day the engine lights came back on with the same transmission codes. When I called to speak to Mark again, I was told by the Secretary that he was too busy to come to the phone but that if there was a problem with any of the warranteed parts, come back. After spending $4450 on misdiagnosed repairs, I wouldn’t return to this shop again. Additionally, if this is the way Mark and Ray treat a handicapped veteran, I wouldn’t recommend them to any other vets. Neither Mark nor Ray had the decency to call me back.

2021-06-10My son has had so much difficulty with cars in the past few years. Weve attempted to try to save a transmission, engine and now trying to save Volvo that he bought used but we were not sure if the car was even worth saving. My progressive insurance recommended that I take it to a shop and we did. The first job was not able to help us due today was not sure if it was an electrical problem and thats not the type of work that they do nor do they work on foreign cars. I was told send my car to ammaco in New Windsor New York. So I took the advice. This is one of the best advice I have been given in so many years. Mark who is the owner is phenomenal. He is all about servicing the customer making sure that he is honest and fair and he is reasonable in terms of his prices. My son now has his Volvo back and it cost him approximately $2,000 to get fixed but oh it was so worth it. I as a mom and happy that my son took my advice and sent it to amical and had the repairs done they needed to be taken care of so that the car can run well. Marks establishment is really a place that helps others thank you Mark for all you do. Best regards in all you do Miss Atkinson
