Andy and his Technicians are the best that can be found. They all spend the time to ensure things are fixed and have the customers satisfaction first. I trust their diagnosis and never feel that I have been sold anything I do not need. They care for us as not only customers but as fellow community members.
Let me start off by saying andy provides excellent customer service , he was very helpful and polite when speaking to him on the phone so based on that I decided to bring my car in to be diagnosed . Right from the start they found the problem I was describing and they did a complete check of the car and let me know what else needed servicing in the futureThey were not pushy or trying to convince me to spend more money .They do great work and the prices are affordable.I did not feel like I was getting ripped off bc Im a female .I will continue to use aamco yo service my car
Do NOT use this AAMCO in Poughkeepsie! I cant speak against the overall AAMCO experiences at other locations, but this location managed by Andy is wholly interested in how much money he can get from the consumer. Im all for a business profiting, but a profit at the expense of honesty and fairness can NOT be tolerated! I have a 2003 Chevy Impala (3.8 L), and know a bit about working on vehicles. I also tend to shop around for competitive prices. Andy quoted me a rebuilt price of $3200 before taxes. Now, you must understand that the going competitive rate (high end) is $1800 for the same service. It is extremely challenging to find a mechanic/service provider who has not compromised honest dealing with capital greed or corporate pressures to make the high end deal. Im convince that at some point there conscience was sensitive to honest integrity; however, some where along the way they compromised for the almighty dollar. Profit in a free market, sure! But these types of businesses/individual prey on the unwitting and uninformed. I eventually found an honest transmission service provider in CT, who charged under $1400 for great quality warrantied service. If you want to give free money to the Poughkeepsie AAMCO cause, by all means use this location. I must also forewarn you that Andy has been at this location for years and comes across as genuine and even tone (Its a part of the hook; hes been doing this for years) However, remember the adage, Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice; shame on ME.

My Honda Odessey died on the way to Montreal from Maryland. Lucky for me Andy at AAmco took great care to keep me updated on the progress of bringing my vehicle back to life. He made sure that I was able to pick it up on a Sunday when the place is closed. I almost didnt recognize it, as a huge dent in the front bumper was gone! Andy went the extra mile and had taken care of it! I wouldnt just recommend Andy and AAmco, I would insist that people avail themselves of this opportunity. Thank you Andy!

Andy in Poughkeepsie NY is great until you go to take advantage of his warrantee! Then 9 months in he tells you that even though I gave you a 12 month unlimited miles warrantee you drove too many miles and therefore I WILL NOT HONOR MY WARENTEE! What exactly does Unlimited mean to this man?Any business owner (Andy) that will not honor his word or stand behind his work simply CAN NOT be trusted!!!Now Ive got to invest my personal time and loose time with my family and my business to take this man to court!Stay away from Aamco Poughkeepsie NY!!!!
Held my car for 7 days just to tell me there to busy to look at it . Now I have to send it to a third shop. Waisted my money getting it tow truck to bring it there.

2021-09-09All I have to say is if u need your car fixed come to this business right here, Andy who ran a diagnostic test on my car was very professional very honest and most of did not try to get any extra money out of me. The diagnostic test was to see if my transmission was slipping because I had a situation wth my car rolling backwards on drive on a hill. Long story short Andy was all the way honest he didn’t make any thing up and say there was a problem wth my car like most car shops would do to get and extra buck out of u. I found out by Andy after running the test tht he couldn’t find anything wrong wth my car. I jus had a bad experience goin up hill. I was only charged for the test which was $89 and he also had one of his guy fix my head light for free he didn’t even charge me for dat. I give this business more then 5 stars ⭐️ I will definitely be back if anything ever goes wrong wth my car ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

2020-10-246 STARS. The 6th star is reserved for above and beyond service that will make you feel at home and at this AAMCO that is exactly what you will get. I was going through a tough time with a car that gave out on me and Andy, the shop owner, was there to give me top quality advice, expert knowledge but most importantly to me, TIME. When a business is willing to give you their time they are giving you their lively hood because time is more important than money. I cannot say enough good things about this AAMCO, got to Andy for ANY of your needs. A heart filled review for a heart-full business. Amazing people still exist.

2017-10-03Last September 2017, I had my Honda Odyssey Minivan transmission replaced by the AAMCO Dealer in Poughkeepsie, NY. Even though the job was pricey, it was fair compared to what I would have paid if I had gone to the local Honda dealer. The AAMCO manager, Andy was very polity and professional and even though an extra part (axle) was required, Andy kept the original price quoted. So far the van is working fine. Thus, I am very satisfied with the work done and I recommend this transmission repair shop.

2019-05-13Andy and his technicians have just done a tremendous job putting a rebuilt transmission into our 2007 Camry XLE with 275,000 miles on the clock. In fact, after our car broke down on Long Island and had to be towed back to Poughkeepsie, we thought we might have to scrap the car, which would have been a shame as we have been very happy with this car despite its high mileage. Andy to the rescue! After a full diagnostic on the vehicle, we took Andys recommendation to do a repair with a rebuilt transmission. Andy also kindly repaired a loose heat shield over the rear muffler which the Toyota dealer said they could not do. A 100 percent recommendation for Andy and his team!

2019-10-21Andy is a professional . He and his team were able to locate the problem with our 2005 BMW xi. We thought the strange noise we heard was a problem with the transmission. It turned out the rear u joint on the drive shaft was bound up. They located a replacement part within a day and had it installed by the next day. Great work!

2020-07-27Andy is the greatest! They took my old 1999 Nissan Sentra and gave it a new life! The clutch replacement no longer slips. It feels so brand new that I had to drive it an hour just to get used to it. I was so accustomed to the old worn out one! It was almost like driving a stick for the first time! As I drove there were certain other things I noticed. When shifting into 1st and 2nd gears I didnt hear all the Klangin and Bangin anymore! It just purrs along. I am so happy with the work that was done. Very courteous and called to update me on other problems that he saw before repairing them. In my opinion Andy and his team are the best mechanics in the Area! I suggest you go there first.

2019-05-09Needed to decide on my 2008 Mitsubishi Galant with 207k miles on it. I love the car and has been pretty bullet proof except the transmission has been acting up lately. Took it to Aamco poughkeepsie and boy was it the right choice. Andy and Monica are very nice and the diagnosis on my car was spot on. He recommended a used transmission instead a of a rebuilt option and saved me money. Financing with Aamco was also a breeze with 0% financing for 12 months. When I picked up the car he said that the rear axle was shot...I said oh oh...but..he said they just replaced it and charged me a penny. A penny! Awesome people. My daughter is now driving the car and we are extremely happy.

2018-04-20Long story. My transmission went on my cadillac(way before it should have, another story) anyway it was at the cadillac dealership needed a new trans assembly and I wanted to shop around for prices. I called aamco, spoke with Andy, he was very friendly and persuasive and convinced me to call a tow truck and pay $90 to have my car towed there because they do free diagnostics and their prices are “VERY competitive”. Well out Of 4 quotes I received the aamco price was only a little lower than the cadillac dealer and much higher than the 2 lower prices($1800 higher with the same warranty!!). Then when I called Andy back to tell him I was having my car towed elsewhere to be fixed he was clearly angry and Said “hold on just a minute, if we picked up the vehicle you owe us for that” no sir, I paid for the towing. Then was asking me all kinds of questions in an obnoxious way like who was paying to have it towed, what was I going to do with the vehicle, where was I taking it, etc...I’d say that’s none of your concern.
