My grandma called the store to ask when the bolts would be arriving to finish a bed setup. I believe he said his name was Brent. My grandma is pretty near deaf so she usually yells into the phone, he proceeded to get quite rude with her asking if she could understand his store is 50 minutes away. Ive drove there from her house 20 minutes max. Theres a throw at. Also he continued to very orickishly ask if he could finish his sentence because she cut him off. She couldnt hear him. I found what I heard to be the worst customer service Ive ever heard. Ill be funded out this clowns superior and reporting him.
Since management changed over the place has had sub-par customer service, they cant keep payment dates correct, have terrible selection, and want top dollar for bottom dollar stuff. Then to top it off, their delivery staff botches the job and new merchandise looks like used.
I must say this review is not about the store in general , but about an employee of aarons. I was shopping at big lots for furniture. Remind you im a retired veteran so i cant afford a whole lot. I was telling my wife that the furniture here is nice, but we cant just buy it all out at once. This is when a young gentleman came up to me and introduced himself as Tom. He said he works at aarons in elmira, ny on north main st, to make a long story short this young man described some of the furniture to myself and my wife and a little bit of prices. I asked him if he was a manager at the store and he said no, im just the driver. This young man should be in management. He took time of his own and explained to me about furniture at aarons and for this i am grateful for him.
Awful!!!! Make payments online. Their computer system cant see it for days. So they call. I tell brad made online, 5 minutes later call from someone else!!! They dont note anything!!! One day 6 calls over a payment all ready made. Never ever go there again!!! Home nevcessities never a phone call or any dumb call you need anyrhing else. Another thing aarons calls you everyday trying to sell. Dont go there you will be sorry.
This is what happened to me. I rented a dvd/vcr combo from Aarons about 7 years ago. Three days after i brought it home, someone broke into my home and stole it while i was sleeping. I immediately called the police and made a report, did my own investigation of the local hock shops. For the next 6 months after, Aarons sent people to my home demanding that i give them the merchandise and every time i repeated to them that it was stolen. I went to the store and they told me that their insurance doesnt cover theft. So they charged me $118 for the merchandise which i refused to pay because i have dealt with alot of rental agencies and Aarons is the only one that the insurnce doesnt cover theft. Here it is 7 years later and i get a call at work from a collection agency to whom Aarons sold my contract to for the sum of $700 now this independant company is sueing me for $1000 over a piece of electronics that at the time was going for $80 brand new. So in summation, if you are a smart person, you will never, ever rent from Aarons.
This has got to be the worst store I have ever rented from. They are very rude and very unwilling to work with you at all. When asked to speak to management was told he was busy. When I called back spoke to someone else I got a complete difference responce. Just rude and they dont stop calling.
Well Scott... I would have to say that Aarons is right to keep contacting you about their equipment due to the high volume of clients that report their merchandise stolen so they can keep the product and not have to pay for. That is the reason they do NOT have coverage for stolen property and you should have thought about that before you came up with this story! Besides who in the right mind would do all of that for a stupid dvd/ vcr player?? I mean come on, did u actually believe they would just let it go? And if it really did happen the way you say then that really does suck. But just because this happened to you doesnt mean other people shouldnt get things from there. But they should pay more attention to whats covered and whats not before they do sign a contract that doesnt fit their needs. Im sorry if this actually happened but pay more attention and lock your house up at night or when ur not home. Thats a given.

2022-07-06I got furniture from them. When delivered they broke a sample in the back of the love seat we did not notice it till we moved furniture around that the staple damaged the wall we did not call and let them know which was our fault. But if your a day late on payment they are calling your phone blocking their number calling from spam number or calling you at 8 in the morning when they dont open till 10. They called me tismorning at 8:45 and I told them to come get the furniture tomorrow morning and he told me they couldnt come till Friday between 10am and 2pm. I told him I had new furniture coming at noon on Thursday and he told me just to put the furniture some where I told him there is know place for me to put it. He then told me if I put it out side of any thing happens to it I am responsible for it. I then asked him what do you expect me to do with it when I have know place to keep it. He said you should of call sooner. I told him I did not know till last night and you were closed by then. I need it gone by tomorrow at noon. They do not repect their customers. And they have poor customer service.

Threatening to kill me While manager does absolutely nothing. Been an Aarons customer for 20 years. Do not go to Elmira store

2022-08-01Most employees are rude will give attitude and then not expect it back. If I didnt need the appliances I wouldnt give them the time of day. Super unprofessional.

2022-02-03I’d stop telling people there is a 3 day grace period. My account came due Sunday, come Monday morning I had four missed calls and two voicemails. Thank god for the ability to block phone numbers! But not good business if you want people to actually answer. Pro tip to anyone new at this, block their number from the start and pay online when you make payments. Calling an hour and a half before the store even opens, calling 4+ times a day, with one day since due? Also they charge my account after I have paid my balance, all the time, almost monthly. Really are just making rules as they go along and not one of them has had any effective training in customer service.

2021-09-12Well overall I ordered a generator figured I could help my back account not using that much out of the gate...well its still not here is been two weeks. I just got a email saing it is around but will take another 3-5 buis days. No bueno. I bought one outright and rails to cancel it. No reply on the email. Ed get one saying the generator is still on its way. Tried to order a laptop for school. Well I dont have a laptop or a reply so I guess wats done is done. No callback as no email from elmira aarons so 1 star for online as 1 star in store .first time I have had a issue with them.

2021-03-09Maria and Devante have charged me 2 payments in one month without my consent. Changed my payment dates with my consent. Called me names, screamed at me, threatened me, talked over me and interrupted me. Refused to give me the district manger number telling me I had to call corporate to get the number. I have been a customer for about 20 years and this is how they treat disabled people. I never had problems till Maria took over. DO NOT SHOP THERE YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!!

2017-08-11This is one of the worst businesses I have ever dealt with! We have had issues with them from day 1. I cant even write them all out. The final straw was listening to them yell and argue with my husband on the phone. When my husband told them to come get the items after they withdrew an unauthorized amount out of our bank, they said we could place the items outside?! This is the 2nd time they have messed up our bank account, the past time was a double charge. Theyve brought wrong equipment, then damaged equipment and conveniently forget to call to schedule deliveries for hopefully one that doesnt ruin our clothes, etc so they can collect more $$$ while you wait. Their excuses are they arent in the area, etc.... Saw a truck here the other day though. Absolutely will pay more with rent a center. Their customer service is way better! First person we dealt with here was clueless and most everyone else either rude or downright nasty.

2019-03-23I bought a bedroom set and a livingroom set from this store. I had the money to pay for everything up front and paid it off in a week. The salesperson, Vanessa, sold me everything and told me that if I paid for it all at once I would have a $75 delivery fee.We had to wait 3 days for delivery, so we were basically in an empty house sleeping on the floor and using a camping chair and a cooler for chairs. Delivery day came and they were scheduled to arrive between 11-3 (morning delivery). At 4:05 I called, because they had not arrived. The Asst. Mgr., Brad, answered the phone and kept calling me dear and tried to blame the salesperson. At 6:05 I called again, because they STILL werent here! Again I spoke to Brad and he continued to speak to me in familiar terms.When they finally arrived (6:30), the couch wouldnt fit through the doors. The delivery guys tried all 3 doors to try to get it in the house, but the couch was just too big. They left the recliner so we would both have a chair until we could get other furniture here.I went back to the store the next day and ordered a different set for the living room and mentioned that the bed was much higher than it looked in the showroom. I was told that the mattress I purchased was thicker than the one on the bed there.New furniture was ordered and we had to wait 4 days for it to arrive. When it got here, the couch was right, but they loaded the wrong love seat on the truck. The delivery driver showed up with the Asst. Mgr., whom I had specifically stated I wanted nothing to do with because of the way he spoke to me on the phone. Again, Brad tried to blame everyone but himself for the screw up. They went back to the store, got the right love seat, delivered everything and left.A few days later, with no attempt made to fix the bed, my fiancee rolled over in his sleep and fell more than 3 to the floor, injuring his elbow. I went into the store to finish paying and complain again about the height of the bed and Brad being at my house. I told the GM, Jenn, that he blamed her and the salesperson for the love seat being wrong on delivery day. He promptly came out of his office and told me that he never said any such thing. Jenn scheduled us for a service call for 2 days out to fix the height of the bed by removing the box spring and replacing it with a platform base that the mattress would sit on directly.Today the delivery guys came again and tried to swap out the slats that are under the box springs for a metal frame that resembles a roll away cot frame. That frame wouldnt fit, so they called the store. The salesperson that we purchased from, Vanessa, was on the phone and accused them of not even trying to fix the problem. She spoke to me and asked me if I actually watched them swap it out and personally observed that it didnt fit in the frame of the headboard, footboard and side rails. When I told her that it didnt fit she tried to tell me that it was the same bed that was on the showroom floor. I told her that the bed was at least 6-8 higher than the one at the store. She argued with me on the phone and told me that she pulled the bed I tried off the showroom floor. I asked her how that was possible, since the same bed is still on display to which she replied that she personally took it down and put it out for delivery. I was told that the GM will not be in until Monday.Rest assured I will be there on Monday morning to let them know how I feel about everyone in the store! The only people that I havent had a problem with are the 2 delivery guys!!!

2019-01-26My experience was with 2 employees on January 25th 2019.. they were blocking my driveway so I could not get in.. now my driveway is an incline and very icy so I got stuck.. so the truck then sees this and still drives right towards me when I had no place to go.. as they were doing this they were shouting you have to move moron. Then continued to call me names. Finally I reversed into a driveway so they could get through, when I did this I exited my vehicle and I did throw my arms up at them as to say hey I couldnt get anywhere why would you be doing this. Then as they drove up to where I finally parked they stopped and the driver opened his door and asked if I had a problem I told him yes.. he and then his passenger both proceeded to try to get out of the truck and my girlfriend got in between him and the arrons employees.. if my girlfriend was not there I have no doubt that both of those employees would have gotten out of their truck and from there it would have been very bad. They finally leave. I call and talked to a so called general manager and she hung up on me and I guess one of the guys in a truck was an assistant manager.. this management team and employees at this arrons is horrible.. mind you I am not even a customer so they had no reason at all to stop their truck and basically wanted to fight.. this is my very first experience with this place.. the general manager hung up on me.. an assistant manager and an employee were trying to start a fight over nothing.. yes I was upset and got out and threw my arms up but I did not say one thing to them. I feel sorry for all the customers that have to deal with this team.
