What can you say about Abbotts Frozen Custard, at the beach in Charlotte, first cone of the season. Winter is ending, spring is coming, and all is right with the world. 👍🏻Apr 2022: First cone of the season and Red Raspberry custard was on the menu... yum!
There wasnt very many flavors, but they did have lots of toppings and the workers were nice.
We ordered the strawberry shortcake and moms cookie jar .. both of them was really good.
Delicious! The Pudgie Pieces was excellent, and really theres no bad flavors in the bunch. Great location too.

Tried a couple frozen custard places in Wisconsin a couple of weeks prior. Abbotts kicked their butts in taste and creaminess.Still by far the best!
Since I cannot locate a listing for the Abbotts on Donald and Stace Streets Ill submit my one star review to this place. The aforementioned Abbotts is a pain in my neck with music emanating from that warehouse that would give a hip-hop parade a run for its money. My ears pick up their audio assault while Im having coffee over at Lakeside Haven on Lake Ave. Inconsiderate churls.
Love Abbotts. I moved away years ago but I still enjoy going with family when I am back in the area. A real local treat.

Was visiting Rochester and a friend from the area told me I had to go to Abbotts. So glad we did! The custard is soft, super creamy, and delicious. We had the blueberry, cookies n cream, and pumpkin, and everyone loved it. The location by Ontario Beach makes a trip to the park even better. Wish we had this down south where I live!
Abbotts at the beach is a summer favorite. This is the best ice cream (frozen yogurt) around.

The custard is good but they seriously hardly give you any! Hot fudge sundae - mostly whipped cream. Root beer float - maybe 4 spoonfuls of custard. Your whole thing is you make and sell custard, but you dont seem to actually be selling custard. Youre selling root beer and whipped cream.
The original Abbotts! Always good frozen custard. The vanilla and chocolate almond are musts. They have a ton of options from sundaes to turtles to cones and bowls. Also allows for a great walk along the lake, beach, and pier. Always good to work off the snack you just ate. Love it here!

Gorgeous day for a ride and walk. Stopped for a cone with my wife! I had a chocolate almond and my wife a vanilla cone, delicious! Staff was friendly and courteous! Highly recommend....!

Went here July 2019. The staff were great and so friendly. The custard was so yummy! I would go to Rochester again, just to go back to Abbotts!
The ice cream here is amazing and kids love it here too. I try to bring them every weekend when theyre behaving. And the service staff are awesome here.

Its okay. Nothing to write home about. Ive had better homemade soft serve in my hometown. And they dont scalp ya for everything. Got a simple cone in a dish(was crazy hot, didnt want it melting all over me) and it was around $5. Too expensive honestly for what you get.
Abbots in general is probably the best Rochester-wide frozen treats chain. Yes, its custard, not ice cream. Does that mean its less than delicious? Great prices, good swirls and milkshakes, friendly fun young people working there, and always lines because its so good! Unbeatable in the summer, just be prepared for a wait.
As a visitor to Rochester, I always make a stop at Abbotts ice cream at least once before I leave. All the places Ive traveled Ive never had Frozen Custard quite as decadent as Abbotts ice cream. It was a hot day at Charlotte beach and pier, and the Abbotts ice cream chocolate with almonds, really hit the spot. Cant wait to come back.
Frozen custard is SO much better than ice cream, and Abbots is the best! So many great flavors to choose from, and multiple locations makes it easy to find one. Abbots stores have a much better variety of flavors than the stands located inside other establishments like Bill Grays.
The kids love it here and now things been getting warmer. Its the best time to visit. They have a great selection and the staff here are super friendly too.
I DO NOT LIKE CUSTARD. But she does. Of all the Frozen Custard spots in ROCHESTER, this is her favorite. I like the location. Its convenient to the beach, its convenient to many lakeside clubs and bars. Its easy to get to from the parking lot across the street. The crowds are friendly. The line is overwhelming but one is in line for a lot less time than expected.

We try to get to Abbotts every couple weeks. After stopping in at lunchtime yesterday, I have to say we probably will not be back. Despite nobody being around customer wise, service was slow. I specifically requested my sundae to not have toppings and made myself clear.. or so I thought. I know its a risk with food allergies to go to places like this, but I also know myself and have never had an issue. This one wouldve killed me. Im still pretty upset about having to toss a $7 sundae Ive been trying to get all summer to constantly be told they dont have the necessary ingredients. Summers almost over so I think were going to stick closer to home for these last few weeks. Im more disappointed than anything.

Had Pistachio ice cream today. Though the flavor was delicious, the custard was melting b4 I could walk away. The $5. Price tag for a small is the only thing hard to swallow.
Theyve been in business forever. They have excellent custard. Their specialty and most well known is the chocolate almond.
Nothing special and honestly i dont get why it gets the praise it does. The actual ice cream is usually runny and there arent very many flavor choices usually either. Reminds me of the soft serve you would get from McDonalds back in the day.

Always a must when coming into Rochester from out of town. I always get the chocolate with Almonds although all other flavors are equally delicious as are the frozen bananas. Custard is just not the same anywhere else. This is my favorite location for Abbots because of other nearby attractions.

Worse milkshake ever!! I really like their custard too even though they are pricer than other shops. Asked for 3 thick chocolate shakes to enjoy at the beach area and they came like chocolate skim milk...super runny. Would hate to see what a regular shake is compared to my thick one. Most expensive skim chocolate milk I ever bought. Thought it was just their location but nope Hilton location had a shake just as runny. So disappointed Abbotts.

Great place to stop by for outdoor ice cream. Chocolate almond with chocolate sprinkles is a fav. Selection of pies and cakes I just found out about. Ice cream can be sold by the pint.
I love this place because it THE BEST ! If you are visiting the Rochester, NY area, ask anybody! If you are on a date, or walking the beach, picnicking, barhopping, siteseeing, or just plain hanging out, youll see why this business has been around forever:)

I’m from Atlanta and when i visited this place I was blown away. The staff is super friendly. After eating the frozen custard I don’t want ice cream. I sure hope abbots makes their way south.
A Must on the to do list for out of town visitors. Each location has their own Facebook page so you can see what the special flavors are for that day.They have some alternatives for people with dietary restrictions.
Worst experience ever ice cream was very soupy they over charged me and said what would I like because they said they couldnt replace my money 4.86 just for a cone also didnt receive my drinks if I could give it a negative ten star I would but lowest they allow us to rate it is a 1. Too much for bare minimum 36.84 for 3 cones and water

Perfectly located directly on the beach front, Abbotts is the perfect summertime snack to keep cool. Prices are reasonable and service is good and quick.

You cant go wrong with abbotts frozen custard. The brockport one is tiny inside. That is the only thing wrong with it. Plenty of sitting space outside, but only about 2 or 3 tables on the inside.

2022-05-20The custard is delicious! The staff is friendly and kind! But honestly, the service seems slow. We waited between 10 to 15 min to be served in line with 2 small groups ahead of us (2 to 3 people). On our day the custard was a bit extra soft too. Despite it being cooler, the custard melted fast.If you go, it is a delicious treat that is a local icon! Just know ahead of time that this delicacy is moderately priced, the wait times can be long, and the custard melts fast!

2022-05-01This abbots on lake avenue is always consistently having product that is out of stock while still advertising the products for example the banana split. They also gave me half a cherry and cold fudge on my ice cream I’m extremely unsatisfied. Do better because I want to support you🙄

2022-07-10Abbotts is a must stop on any visit to Rochester, or to motivate you for your wander by Lake Ontario. Great custard ice cream, albeit at higher prices (what isnt?) Stretch your legs, sit under a gazebo in the park, watch the volleyball players and/or walk to the end of the pier. Just treat your taste buds to that familiar creamy, soft, thick texture that Abbotts has been doing consistently for years.
