I took a practically new self propelling lawnmower tht had Only been used to mow about 10 times bcuz I had another older self propelling mower tht I used all the time to cut my lawn & the New self propelling mower was my backup in case the old 1 failed! Well the old 1 failed so I took it to ABC for their $59.99 tune-up well when I picked the mower up & Paid the Bill in Full started it & noticed tht it started well however now the Self propelling was Not working I contacted ABC right away & talked to Andy he stated tht he checked & started self propelling mower & tht all was fine I told him tht the self propelling was not working he told me to bring it in & he would take a look at it well I brought it back but he was not there at the time so I explained it to another employee who i did not get his name but he was Very Unprofessional & disrespectful & attempted to speak to me as if I was a child W/out any knowledge & I was his Senior & a Senior Citizen as well he continued to insinuate tht I did something to my self propelling mower or tht it was like tht when I brought it & I couldnt take tht type of bad customer service anymore & I told him tht I dont have time for those type of games if it was like tht when I brought it than I would have told ABC about it So they could have fixed it if tht was the case so I took my mower and receipt & I Will NEVER bring anything to ABC to be repaired/Tuned-Up/ rent any tools/ or buy any Merchandise EVER Again Whoever this Employee was / was Disrespectful/Unprofessional & didnt even start the mower to see what the problem was but continued to make insinuations.If this is the type Employee representation tht ABC of Customer service has to Offer to paying customers than I Will Not do business W/ this business any more & I would Caution all other Paying Customers to go elsewhere as I will go to Home Depot/Lowes/ Valu for the Customer Service tht ABC refuses to Give !
Great experience with ABC rental. They set up the tent a couple days before the party so we didnt have to worry about it the day of. The tent, tables and chairs were in great condition. It was perfect for the sunny day that we had as most people stayed underneath the tent to enjoy the shade. I would rent from them again.
DO NOT BUY FROM HERE!!! I bought a used grove scissor lift that had been in rental. They delivered it with the brakes locked up. I called the salesman, Bobby DiPasquale, as I was test riding it and explained to him that the brakes were locked up. He then had me turn brake release knobs which put it into tow mode and told me it would be fine. Well, the delivery driver left and I found that when you have it in tow mode, the hydraulics dont operate so there was no power and no brakes. Bobby said to take it somewhere to get it fixed and they would help me out on the repair. The repair shop had to replace the brake solenoid block and it cost $5,000 . After reaching out to Bobby on many occasions over a span of six months, nothing was done and they did not honor their word. Worst experience with a company Ive ever had. I hate leaving bad reviews as I own a couple small businesses and I know how important it to keep a good reputation. I was more than patient with them and ultimately they screwed me. I hope others dont have the same experience.
I have gone into both the Bailey and Niagara Falls Blvd. locations and have worked directly with the managers - John (Bailey) and Roy (NFB). Both have been great to work with and both very knowledgeable. When you walk into each location, there is always a smile accompanied with a how can I help you today? I would recommend both locations!
The companys equipment is fine, but their customer service SUCKS; theyre also more expensive than comparable companies.To start, when I called to set up the rental, I was told I had to come in to the store in person so I could get in the system. The company is a half hour away so I tabled it for the moment. An hour later, my son called and handled the whole thing over the phone. So what was that about?But the worst was when they showed up to deliver the tent. They called the day before to tell me they were coming in the morning and I was the second person on the list. I said that works, because I have to be out by noon. The next day I got no phone call to tell me they were on their way and there was no sign of them by noon and I had to cancel my meeting; they showed up at 12:30 with zero apology.I went in the backyard to discuss placement with one of the men, Guy #1. I explained very precisely where the stakes should not go past. We go over it three, maybe four more times to be sure that the tent is not going to interview with traffic from the house/patio. Guy #1 repeats to me what we have just said and we go over it again.They start setting up and after about ten minutes, I go back to check. The first four stakes are in and they are at least three feet past where I said I wanted them and in a way that will interfere with the slab of cracked concrete we call a patio. I said, Im sorry, but we said that I didnt want them past the patio.Guy #2 looks at me and says, We cant pull them out now.Me: What do you mean?Guy #2: We would need the tool to pull them out.Me: Well, they cant go there. I specifically said they cant be past the patio.Guy #2: We cant move them.Me: But they cant go there, and thats not where they were supposed to go.Guy #2: We could go back to the store and get the tool.Me: Okay, Im sorry but I did say they couldnt go there.Guy #1 (aka they guy I went over this with four times): Im sorry. We didnt know.A minute later, they are back with the special tool and removing the stakes. THE TOOL WAS IN THE TRUCK. IN. THE. TRUCK. And it was only four stakes; its not like the tent was up already or anything. They just didnt feel like getting it and pulling up four stakes, which they could have easily done in the time they spent arguing with me about it. Would they have done that to a man? I have to wonder, but it doesnt matter; I will never order from them again.
Times have changed. You use to be able to purchase bulk nails by the pound. Sign of the times. Had an exchange w/receipt but couldnt be done because it was on CC that wasnt mine. I had purchase exchange with cash. Exchange cost more b and had to had cardholder make another trip to get CC charge back. What a waste of time!!!Customer unfriendly!!!😧
This is the best hardware store in the City of Buffalo!!! It is a huge asset to our neighborhood. Ive been living in this neighborhood for 20 years. They have never steered me wrong. Always full of great advice, not just trying to sell me things, but just trying to help!
Great local hardware store that has a huge assortment of Rental gear. Folks there are super helpful. In literally less than 1 minute you can always find an associate who will take you to the area of the store that has the item you need... Espicially if its an unique hard to find item typically needed for older Buffalo City homes.
I just picked up my generator from ABC rental. Its all set so if the power goes out, I know that I have a powerful backup generator to run my sump pump and furnace. I take my generator to ABC every fall season so that its ready to go when the power goes out. $75 is a great deal, and now I dont have to worry about a storm coming that will take out the power. Ill definitely continue to use ABC for their great repair service!
Thought I would support local business and get my Lawn mower repaired. Waited 3 weeks just to get it home and still not working. Made additional trip back just for them to tell me it could not be fixed. But they failed to tell me when I picked it back up that it wouldnt start. Waste of my time and money. Next time I will go to Lowes or Home depot no matter how far out the city. To bad I had to give them 1 star in order to rate.
I too wish I could give no stars.While calling for information on a Dunk Tank and pricing. I was given an absurd amount.Jamie said if I typed up an email regarding what I was looking for the owner would be able to provide a better price, but she was unsure what that would be until he reviewed the email. I sent the email Monday and was promised a response that day.I never received a call back, so I patiently waited until Tuesday later evening to give a call back.Jasmine and a Male rep had no problem passing the buck...by saying to call back because Jamie wasnt available. I kept my calm because I was asking for help too. After the last call this day, the Male rep, finally said hed leave a message for her.Wednesday it was the same thing, until I finally said enough is enough. I said my situation was time sensitive and no one seemed to care.Jasmine finally said, Jamie is actually out of the office for the rest of the day and will return Friday. I said is there anyway someone else can look into it or even see if the email made it to the owner. I said it seemed they were very unorganized.Jasmine (only with that poke) said she would get into Jamies email, talk with the secretary and owner and get back to me later Wednesday evening. But you guessed it...that call never came either.Today (Thursday) I just called to follow up again...Jamsine wasnt in the office and again the Male rep stated that I should wait for Jamie to return...even though he was aware it was time sensitive. After getting upset and starting that they are extremely unprofessional and have no idea what customer service is...he said Jasmine would be back in a bit and he would make sure she called back.Jasmine actually called back...rude and in a matter of fact tone...told me they could not do anything for me. All because I was holding them to a standard.I politely told her thanks and advised her she could let everyone know that a detailed review would be done regarding my experience both on Facebook and Google.THEY ARE NOT WORHT YOUR TIME!!PRICING is horrible.CUSTOMER SERVICE is horrible.Just a waste of almost week, with false hopes from someone that couldnt follow through even with a phone call!!
We have rented on MANY occasions from ABC and have always been pleased! We rented a bunch of Carnival Games for an event and while doing our set-up, we noticed a part to one of the games was missing. ABC sent out a staff member right away with the missing part and he not only finished putting the game together, he took the time to check all of the other games to ensure they were set-up properly and that our event would go well without a hitch! THANKS ABC for the amazing Customer Service!!
The price of most items is too high, you would think it is like that because of minority hiring however, they only have two employees working. When will I see minorities working in this store and what plans do they have in place for the old Stransky building across the street from them. It is a huge eyesore I think they still own it and its been over 20 years since they have opened them doors.

Great new tents we can put up ourselves! I went to a backyard party last weekend and my friends had the most amazing tent. I asked where they got it and they said ABC Hardware & Rental. The tent looked brand new and sturdy. This looked like a giant party tent so I was surprised when my friends told me they picked it up from the store and put it up themselves. A 10x20 tent and they said all they did was pop it up. What a great design! My daughter and I have the same tent rented for an outdoor sale this weekend.
Wished I didnt have to give it any stars..Horrible experience! Rented a machine to level out our yard for a pool. My husband brought it back and when they(the workers) were unloading it, the machine fell off the ramps, tearing my bumper and gouging out some pieces. They couldve cared less because they have a big sign that says not responsible for damage during loading/unloading. Needless to say it was my new Durango that was leased, so I went down and spoke with the owner who had zero class what so ever. I explained that we didnt ask anyone to load or unload the machine, period. All he did was point to his sign and shrug his shoulders saying he wasnt responsible. Now I have a hefty bill from the leasing company after turning my truck in..thanks to ABC Rental.
Wish I could give a 0 ...took my lawnmower to be serviced and have the carburator rebuilt...brought it home wouldnt start took it back for the second time brought home worked for 15 mins now it wont start Ive had it only a week john the mechanic is a arrogant a**hole ....I spoke with owner he insists I put bad fuel in it all 3 times but yet they put the fuel in I have reciept to prove it charged $5 for fuel they are crooked and take peoples $$$ could have bought a new mower for what we were charged

Excellent experience, great customer service and delivery was perfect. What a relief these days to have a postive buying exerience and deal with folks who are honest and do exactly what they say! 2019-07-22Just attended an awesome surprise anniversary party set up by ABC Hardware & Rental. The 20x30 west coast frame tent they installed looked brand new. The party also had tables, white folding chairs and cocktail tables and all the equipment looked great. The crew set up the event a couple days ahead of time so my friends didnt have to worry the day of the party. Everyone at the party was talking about how nice the tent looked and how grateful they were to have it because it was very hot that day. Great job ABC.

2020-10-12I had to replace glass in the bottom of my door with plexiglass they did the cut exact it came out beautiful and the thickness was great and it took all of maybe five minutes if that.

2021-09-28WNY friends. Never, and I mean never, do business with ABC Hardware, Rental, And Special Events. The lack of professionalism from their tent guy Richie and his side business is appalling. My wedding was mad a disaster due to their pure lack of professionalism. They were late, wouldn’t give me a final price, screwed the order up, blew up the brides phone on the wedding day after being given other points of contact, won’t give us a time frame to pick up the tent, cat called the women in the bridal party (especially me), etc, and then made me out to be some sort of irrational crazy person when I got upset. When I contacted ABC to get his details as to not drag the whole company threw the mud, they lied and said the wouldn’t contact him and proceeded to transfer me to him twice. 2020-07-25Reasonable prices on selected items. Place to get your keys cut/ duplicate. I go here yearly to get a special bottle of very potent liquid to clear my drainage system. Works very well. It must be poured into the drain hole in your basement and NOT YOUR PIPES.

2021-05-12Rented snake and their attachment broke off in drain and never cleared drain. Took back to store and not only did I have to pay $110 for the attachment but still paid full price for snake. Take the drive to Kenmore Rental at half the price
