Always a blast. One minor downside for old timers like me is that the music is typically really loud. But the talent is always top notch, so if you dont mind rocking a pair of custom ear plugs like I do then definitely put Abilene on your to-do list. Great bar selection, great service.
4 of us drove from corning ny for a ga-20 show. Turned away at door for not having vaccine cards all while none of the door guys were wearing masks. Maybe before discriminating against people who dont carry their cards or are not vaccinated they should do research on this vaccine. It doesnt prevent you from getting it I know several that got it and are vaccinated. So if you wanna walk the walk and turn people away for no vaccine or not showing you medical records maybe do it while wearing a mask. What a joke of a business.

Great beer selection (many in cans) at reasonable prices. Hosts some good local bands...though its a small place, so it can get a little loud when theyre playing. Patio looks nice though Ive never sat out there for a drink (always there for the bands inside). Not much parking in the tight lot beside the bar but usually something on a nearby street if you cant get into the lot.

An old house in the downtown district turned into a bar and always has live music. I was there on assignment for photography, and although small, it was a great place to enjoy live music and have a sip of your favorite beverage. Parking is pretty easy to find as well.

Went here last weekend, used to like this place... must’ve been a bad night? Place was dirty and bartender was very rude. Do not recommend.

This is a really small place, but have always had a great time. Different bands make it fun and in summer the outdoor patio is great.

2022-06-14Quaint & clean. The staff was SUPER FRIENDLY. They dont serve food but we were able to Uber eats a pizza. The entertainment was fantastic. We saw Amanda Anne Platt and the Honeycutters. It was so good that I think were coming back for their show tonight!

2021-08-12I love Abilene. Danny is a music lover and a mensch. He respects his customers and the bands which play there, and NOBODY else brings those musicians to town. I especially appreciate his policy concerning covid-19 - you must show proof of vaccination to walk in there. The rule applies to customers, staff, and even the bands. There is no other place in town where I feel safer as a customer than at Abilene. The rule is undoubtedly costing him money, but I respect his policy, and wish that other establishments would take the same stand. Thank you, Danny!

2021-06-11It was the first time at the place sofar very welcoming older honky tonk crowd which is cool expect that. Waiting on band to start friendly service bar seats taken but patrons allowed people to get there drinks very polite regulars, drinks very reasonable great watering hole Im sixity so Im comfortable in this space. I can tell its going to be a good night more to follow. Had a great time.band was great people looking
