Very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable staff. They personally take you to the sections you need to go.
Great cosplay location to shop for those little things that adds to that personal touch. Price ranges from $- $$$ = average overall, you want authentic you pay authentic, that aside you have make up, accessories, costumes from all the popular and legendary characters although in limited quantities. The atmosphere inside is welcoming and in the theme of a central place to go for everything including magic cards and fancy 🎭 masks. I enjoyed myself there and will do more shopping in the near future. Staff are friendly and helpful if you need help. Oh yeah a great place for kids costums too.

I ordered these wings online and as I’m opening the package they’re stained, falling apart and extremely stiff to where I could even open them. They also smell.

I grew up in the Finger Lakes region of NY and never experienced a Halloween store like this until I moved to NYC. This is one of the many great things about the city. You can find anything you want here, from makeup prosthetics to theater-quality costumes. And the friendly staff is there to help. If Halloween is your favorite holiday, then the spooky season is incomplete unless you make a visit to this store.
Amazing store, but We weren’t comfortable looking around. Instead of greeting the customers, they watch you like your going to steal from the minute we walked in. They all looked miserable. The only two people in the entire store that greeted us was the magician & a Asian girl who worked downstairs. It’s Halloween season where’s the spirit??? especially working in this store!
Placed an order for pickup before 2pm cutoff time for next day pickup. I was charged. I still havent received a notification. Checked today on site to see how many was left in stock of the item brought and it was 0. I was patient due to the Halloween holiday, but not responding and having a phone that doesnt work make it feels like the company doesnt care for their customers. Im going in person later, will update based on interaction.
Strange store for sure. Need Halloween supplies all year round. There is a magic show that also sells gag gifts and pranks. They also have a pretty big rental section with some pretty impressive costumes (like movie quality) definitely fun for if you need a hat for a crazy hat party.
Me my wife and child had a decent experience. But the manager rudely told my daughter to put her mask above her nose and when we pointed out that the majority of the staff had no mask on at all she rudely told us she couldnt control her staff. So because of her we left and came across spirit a few blocks away.
I made an online purchase and although Im in the same city, due to the holidays I paid extra for next day delivery. My item came on time and it was better then described.Over all Im pleased with my purchase.

They have everything! Staff are very nice. I came up with more and more ideas of what to do for future Halloween costumes while I was there. In the days leading up to Halloween though it was very busy, so I would not go at peak times.

Thank god for Abracadabra, like magic they saved our halloween. We originally ordered a costume from walmart, but they screwed up the order and sent the wrong item. My son was so sad and upset because that meant he had to find another costume. I searched the web for hours to find a store that could get us the costume before his school parade and trick or treating, but was having no luck. That is until i found this costume store. I called to check if it was in stock, they answered quickly and advised me it would ship in time. I placed my order and in a couple days, our halloween was saved. My son was ecstatic and hasnt stopped smiling since. This place is awesome.
The main floor and upstairs has a ton of regular packaged costumes of all kinds, something for everyone i would imagine. Tons of wigs, make up and accessories as well. The true gem of this store is the basement where movie extra style clothing is located. To me this large basement area was very impressive and included fitting rooms and alterations. If you really want a killer costume Abracadabra can make it happen.

It was like walking into a haunted house. They do not leave much to the imagination; visually speaking. All things related to costumes, wigs, make up, and props can be found here. Very good stuff here.
The service there at Abracadabra is very bad. I have to deal with employees that can never understand a mans taste. I went ahead to finding the place very dirty and very unorganized. It smells like weed and the place is very confusing to find. The staff as I said was very bad and uneducated. It smells dirty and musty.

This place is a landmark of Halloween and costumes. Not to mention the magic tricks. They have an expansive collection of costumes from classics to this year’s pop cultural trends. The lower level is a museum of widely varied rental costumes for those who want to go the extra mile. I’m talking studded Elvis jumpsuits and Samurai armor to name a few! Go here before the season ends!

Great place to buy Halloween costumes and anything you need. The place is very well set up and has a great variety of costumes for all ages and even for dogs. There are also infinite amount or decorations and anything you can imagine so create the right scene at home or your party ! People attending the store are friendly and willing to help.

Only got to go here once, but it was great. Such a variety of awesome makeups and facial prosthetics, plus amazing costumes for rental. They even have coloured contact lenses. The staff were all super nice and friendly and helpful.

This place is over price. I bought a jacket and bow tie. I called the store the next day and told them I didnt use the jacket and tie it still had the tags and I have the receipt. All I was told that all sales are final and they hung up the phone on me. I SPEND alot of money on your OVER PRICE MAGIC TRICKS. WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING IN THIS PLACE AGAIN.
OMG!!! This place is Awesome I ran into it by mistake I didnt have much time to actually browse I had an appointment to go to. you do need several hours if you dont really know exactly what you want to look around its so much fun with all the masks wigs and the costumes, magic zombies scary stuff sexy stuff whatever you can think of its there then you go downstairs and there is the high-end rental costumes that are gorgeous or the clearance part. Unfortunately I didnt have time to take pictures but I definitely will go back! Also whoever I spoke to from the staff there were super nice and super helpful.
Amazing shop. All of your costume, mask, wig and makeup needs in one amazing shops. 3 floors. They have costumes for rent as well as to buy--a very wide range of everything. I was there for a wig and mask, had a plethora to choose from, and came out a very happy customer.
Love this place. Many effects make up kits to choose from staff is awesome they allow customers to look around and take photos while they shop. All my inquiries were addressed and was not pushed into purchasing anything. Left here happy with my purchases.
This place was absolutely amazing! When we walked in they treated us like family and were extremely nice to us. We actually got my plague doctor mask from there and oh my god it’s freaking amazing. On top of that some of their costumes are hand made and they look amazing, i’ve never seen such a large selection of costumes in my life.

Love this store, so unique! I worked there for the Halloween season & it was so much fun. Employees get to dress up & interact with customers. Items are pricey but the clearance area is the bomb dot com. Totally worth it if you love dressing up!

Great store with knowledgeable staff. I came in for a goatee and spirit glue. The color I wanted was sold out (I came a week before Halloween so it was to be expected) and they were able to help me figure out the best way to cut and dye the pieces to get the achieved look without damaging my new purchase. Kind and friendly employees and reasonable prices. Will return for all my costume needs!

Great store with lots of props. I was in New York filming a music video and needed some props which I found easily at Abracadabra. A really great collection and variety here, would highly recommend if youre looking for props or simply having a fancy dress party!
This Halloween store is huge! Three floors worth of stuff. Huge variety of costumes, props, and accessories.
This place has two lines for regular checkout. I waited for 10 minutes in one while cashiers kept calling customers from the other line. When I finally asked to be helped, the cashier rolled her eyes at me and said “I guess” and several other employees seemed fine with it around her. Mystified why I just have this store money.
Best costume store for all occasions. I needed a costume for my niece to wear on her 5th birthday. Not only did Abracadabra have the costume, but they pulled two options aside for me to choose from. Great store with amazing service.
Went here to pick up my daughters Willy Wonka costume for her play and it wasnt there but they helped me put one together. The customer service was good but let me warn you, no returns or refunds. I bought a rain coat to substitute for Willy Wonkas jacket and it was too big for my daughter and it was fresh out the packet and they wouldnt even let me exchange it.
This is hands down the best costume shop in NYC. And its also just super fun to go there and walk through the store filled with outrageous props. During Halloween week be prepared to wait outside until they let you in because its crowded.
Creepy as hell but really cool pieces can be found here. They also have the most variety of and best masquerade masks. I was also able to get everything I needed for a cute, simple, glitter lip.
Youll find everything from outfits, masks, accessories for your outfit such as staffs etc. Its a large space with 2 floors. Outfits and rentals are downstairs. Youll definitely know its a costume shop once you walk in by how its decorated and the huge off putting rubber plastic smell that hits you. That alone you can tell it has many masks in the store. Variety is great here for that specialized item you are looking for but the price is way overpriced for these items. If ya have deep pockets and need that special costume come here.
Insane costume selection for purchase or as a rental. Reasonable prices & helpful staff. I rented a Victorian gown & hoop skirt from here. Its basically a one-stop costume shop.
If you are looking for gore / halloween makeup, this is the place to go. They have costumes too, but they are fairly expensive and they dont have as much of a selection as other stores (like Halloween Adventures). The employees are helpful, but the place smells terrible. Like burnt plastic. But if you want some quality gore you have to deal with it.
Great costume spot. Full of different varieties and characters and different sizes. Has a great selection of props and fun things to use in all occasions. We just left today with a reindeer costume for a Christmas costume party 👍🏼

Bought a Top hat here just 30 mins ago. Wasn’t sure the size I needed so bought a Medium because it’s “average size”. Turns out it’s too big for the person wearing it and I understand they have a no returns or exchanges policy but when I was buying it, I was even questioning the size and I found out a few mins later it’s too big - literally 30 mins ago when the sale took place so they know I didn’t use it or anything. They could have been a little lenient, show a little customer service and allow me to exchange it for a smaller size. Goodness.

If you craft it you enjoy playing dress up (of all sorts) you need to go to this store. Its not pretty pretty and you have to really look for what you want but the people are super helpful and just as into it as its customers.
Great store. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. I come here for props for my shows and costumes for parties. The only downside is that it is pretty expensive and no returns. So you have to be very sure of what you want.

Going there now to pick up another, best foundation I have used, its full coverage and really cheap, I mean really cheap, I bought it months ago and now I need another before I run out, need a darker shade I feel, hopefully they have it in stock, everyone should check out this place

I had a horrible experience at this place when I traveled so far to get there. Staff was extremely unhelpful. I stood at the magic counter for 15 minutes before being told I cant be behind the open counter. When I asked if she could send someone one to help me. She walked away rudely and no one came. Also they have a poor rabbit locked in a tiny aquarium with no food, water or hay in its cage. I will never come to this place again and I will tell my magic community about this horrific experience.

This place is incredible and I cant believe that Ive lived this long without ever knowing it existed. Ok, I know this sounds weird, but when you walk in, you can SMELL that its legit (its that slightly musky smell mixed with latex that is a signature of any good novelty shop). Its bigger than it looks from the outside (one of its many similarities to a Tardis). Theres literally everything you could med here from decorations to costumes to props to makeup. Definitely not to be missed if you work in any industry that requires dressing up. They also have miss mainstream-type costumesand toys. And the people there are SUPER CHILL. Could not hold this place in a higher regard.

I do agree with most reviews on the fact that their costumes are overpriced. You can get better prices at Halloween Adventure for the same stuff. They do occasionally have styles I havent seen other places, and I never had a problem with the staff, on a positive note.

Abracadabra is a great costume & Halloween destination. The store is quite large, and has an extensive selection of costumes, decorations, and accessories. The makeup counter has an insane variety of special effect and gore makeup. During Halloween-time, approximately 20 makeup artists are on staff to create fun and fabulous makeup creations. By appointment early!

Everything you need to get in character is here. So many choices and options.You can also rent costumes but it’s SUPER EXPENSIVE. I would not pay that much at all. They need better tier pricing options.

I was there buying a disappearing man costume, It was a really bad construction, the sewing was defectuous, they didnt allow me to check the costume at the store and now I understand why, because of their bad quality product. All their sales are final so I was not allow to return this costume.
If you are near flat iron, you want to visit this store. Every corner holds a surprise. Very unusual costumes and props. If you get close to the magic corner, your will get a live demo of a few tricks.

This review is because of the owner! RUDE! I just went in there to pick up contacts I ordered online. As I go in and ask him “where do I go to pick up my order of contacts.” He saids down there and just points straight down. I ask him where exactly bc it’s busy, I went ahead of a lot of people bc it was a pick so I wanted to be in and out. He said, “clearly this isn’t a pick up if you don’t know where to do? Is it even paid for? It probably isn’t.” I said it is and show him my email confirmation and then say don’t talk to me like that and ask another employee to help me. Which she does and is super helpful. Another woman asks him where is X and he gives full directions. What’s so hard about doing that with everyone? I was polite. And after I told him don’t speak to me like that he saids “I shouldn’t speak to him like that.” Honestly, I told 3 co workers to purchase things from ya’ll so never again will I use this place. An employee apologized for his behavior after I said you should get rid of him because he lacks customer service. I spent $69.79 in there. But clearly it’s not paid for bc I don’t know where I’m going inside the store.
I just visited this spectacle for halloween supplies. The staff was dressed to the 100s... It seems like the type of place where you can go for costume consulting. They have designated sections for everything that one would need to make a stunning costume.

Its Alices Wonderland. All sorts of costumes and props for all sorts of occasions, as simple as Halloween to serious business like Comicon. Just browsing is lots of fun. The sales personnel are helpful.

2022-08-19This place has all the spooky wonder and goofy macabre you would ever need. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The costume rental shop in the basement has many one of a kind items. Will definitely be stopping by anytime I need a costume or disguise🤫!

2021-11-07This place is a destination in itself! It’s quite scary and fabulously ghoulish!! This Halloween in nyc all year round basically! It’s scarily great! The staff are so helpful and friendly! You can find so much costumes here! I highly recommend this place! Check them out for sure!!

2021-10-31The staff was very helpful, and they still had a larger selection on Halloween day. I went in to get some last minute additions for my costume. Found a cute wig and got lashes to replace the ones that were running late. Ill def shop there for more costume props/makeup!Also, most everyone was in costume, it was very cool.

2022-04-25This is a must when in NYC. It’s weird in a good way with all kinds of different costumes and accessories to dress up. This is a gold mine for everything Halloween. If you can’t find it here you won’t find it anywhere.

2021-12-13Costume store, on the west side.I am not a costume customer, so will be a short review.Seemed to have lots of inventory on costumes, make up, masks and party material and supplies.The only thing i noticed negatively was there seemed to be an odor of old inventory, kind of dusty.

2022-07-02Great place to visit! Not only does it have a wide selection of costumes, but it also has very talented magicians. I had the pleasure of seeing Dr. S and Julian Druyan perform and it was an amazing experience. I will definitely visit again!
