Absolute Care in other cities:
My Mother was a patient on the 3rd floor dementia unit. She was placed there after an acute infection from Lourdes Hospital. She received excellent care from the nurses, aides, physical therapists and activities director, but especially the nursing supervisor, Rebecca. With their care and patience, my mother was able to recover well enough to go to an assisted living residential facility. They gave her better care than the hospital. (and she liked the food better too!)I would have given it 5 stars, but the building itself could use updating. The care they give is very good and all the people I met there, including the laundry and kitchen staff were kind and helpful.
Such a pleasant place with good, hardworking people. The therapy team did an outstanding job after I fractured my hip and helped me reach my goals quicker. The meals were good, surroundings clean and staff so friendly and helpful. I will recommend this place to anyone looking for therapy and have taken home great memories of my stay.
Been here for a month and it has been wonderful! I can do so much more than I ever imagined Id be able to thanks to the amazing therapy team, they worked with me daily to ensure all goals were met and for that I am extremely grateful. The staff is very helpful and friendly, I got along with everyone and met a few other patients who I became friends with. The food was ok - I have a diet restriction so that made it harder to deal with but they did the best with what they had. I felt safe and at home here, the place is clean and I could leave all my belongings in my room and theyd be there when I got back. They help you with your doctors appointments and ride and have a doctor who visits you at the facility. My only concern is that I wasnt informed of my results from an appointment I would always be asking the nurses if there was anything new, so some feedback on this needs to be addressed. Otherwise, all good! I live close by so if I need assistance again I would return.
I live really close to the facility and was reluctant to come here because I feel like I could have recovered on my own but chose to go with the doctors recommendation. I did get to meet a few nice people and so it really wasnt that bad. Therapy was good just built on my strength, meals were ok and the nurses did a good job. I had a great roommate too so that made the adjustment much easier but definitely looking forward to being back in my own home.
They starve residents to death. Multiple nurses have come forward to the actions of other nurses putting food just out of reach then coming back and picking up trays and marking them off as refusing to eat. They do this for days until the residents become to weak to do anything then they “sleep” for days and then randomly die. They are in trouble right now with the state. Please for the love of god do not send your loved ones here‼️‼️‼️
Was here for rehab, things were pretty much straight forward, people are nice and they did a great job helping me recover. The meals were not what I am use to and the discharge process slightly confusing, I think they could do better in communicating with us what is being done in a more timely manner. Overall, a good stay, happy to be home.
Had my stay here back in August for rehab. The quality of therapy was superb, Suma & Payem helped me a lot. I had just a couple issues, the fact that my clothes were lost the next day and that there wasnt much else to do besides therapy. I was lucky to have my brother available to take me out of the facility a few times a week. Overall they helped me recover quickly and everyone was awesome.
My son recommended this facility as he s had past experience with them. I was not disappointed, therapy really worked my butt! And made it so I could go home quicker :) Everyone tried to do their best, it took too long to get my medication at times and to get answers for some things. The meals are pretty good, they have a little bit of everything too much for me too eat! Very good job by everyone overall and id definitely return for rehab.
Everyone was very attentive upon arrival, the prompt response and communication between the team from hospital to facility was flawless. Meals could have been a bit better as there were some confusion with what was ordered and what was received. Therapy department was excellent, room cleaned on a daily basis and the discharge was smooth. Overall, should I need therapy I would come back.
This is my 3rd time returning to Absolut and that is because therapy is absolutely awesome! I only gave 3 stars this time because they fell short in some areas such as communication with each other, the food needs to improve - please give us the option to choose our meals and the portions can be a bit more. The staff is friendly and helpful and the nurses do an amazing job however, it seems like they were always short and then things took longer time to be done. The place is kept clean and Im often checked on to see how Im doing. Hopefully I wont need to return a 4th time but If I do this is where Ill be doing my therapy for sure!
My father was there to get physical therapy after he broke his hip. When he arrived, he stayed in bed for days until we called. If you need physical therapy on the weekend, they dont give you any. You just sit in bed and watch tv. After he didnt have any therapy for several days, we wanted to take him out but nobody can leave on Mondays or Friday. We would have waited until a bed was available somewhere else if we knew that. What a terrible experience for him!
Needed a bit of therapy and Absolut Care was highly recommended by the hospital. They were very professional and attentive, everyone willing to pitch in and help. They kept the place clean and have various activity programs to keep you busy. I liked it there but too far from home if I need rehab again.
After a recent visit, I would like to commend and say that the administrator and staff are very caring and treat the residents as one big family. Although the past year has been very difficult for everyone, I know that Absolut did all they could to give great care and comfort to all.
The few times I’ve been there to visit, call bells are going off with nurses not responding, usually sitting around desks on their phones and totally oblivious/ignorant of patients in need. Even when supervisors and management are informed of many issues within the facility regarding the care of patients, it’s apparent that these concerns were not taken seriously due to the absolute lack of change in the facility’s conditions. Gross incompetence on behalf of administration and management for failure to ensure the well-being and best interests of patients. The only light in this dark, abysmal facility is the therapy staff. They go above and beyond for their patients, but there is only so much they can do when they’re surrounded by individuals who don’t care. Management needs to get their act together.
As a healthcare individual I was appalled at the condition of the building. Dirty, damaged etc. Commode broken and told by staff no other available nor repair offered or cleaned in the, week there. No bath or shower offered in a week . I did myself. Staff did not have ID badges nor did they identify themselves. Clothing messy, no uniforms, doctor never saw pt. that we know of and did not respond to families request to speak to him. Adm. staff did not know or were unwilling to comply with HIPAA regulations. Had to demand urine test for obvious urinary infection. This facility begs an unannounced Dept. of Health inspection.
If I could give this place negative 10 stars I would. My father went in there. He became so contracted he was in pain every time he was moved. They only did range of motion once per day. Per them. I doubt it was even that. He got such severe bed sores after being admitted there. It should be considered criminal. When we asked about the range of motion exercises they stated vaguely I guess we could teach the CNAs. The call bell was on the floor hiden under the bed. They dont call when you ring them. When I asked them on a Sunday morning about oxygen because my father was gasping they replied they could ask the doctor to recommend it on Monday. These people are Horrible.
My mom is at this facility now trying to rehab after fracturing her pelvis. Her first roommate was rude, screamed, etc. My mom had no sleep for two nights till they finally moved her to another room. However this rooms heater is broken and is ice cold as well as the bathroom. the room is too cold for her to shower or bath. She has asked for rails on the bed so she doesnt fall out of bed and can use the rails to help her get out of bed. But no rails so far. The food is lukewarm at best. This place is a very depressing place and should be investigated.
Therapy was wonderful, the people here did enough for me. They did not fall short on any expectations. I feel like I was given all the resources necessary to have a healthy life at home. I would return should I ever need therapy or any assistance in the foreseeable future. The staff was phenomenal and Matthew sending me off in song was just icing to the cake!
Have my family member at Absolut and could not be happier with the care/treatment. They have some of the best staff that are kind, compassionate and go the extra mile. I know this facility has a checkered past but the service we received is second to none. Highly recommend!!
Really nice facility! First thing I noticed was how clean everything was, then how big the room was. Also, mom had the bed near the big picture window overlooking Endicott. Really nice view! The meals were good, and the staff was great, very attentive and friendly! I was really glad to have her in this very nice nursing home. Thank you, Lord Jesus!
Can I do no stars because that’s what this place and the workers should get. My grandfather was at this facility and let’s just say this place needs to be shut down. This is the worst nursing home I’ve ever experienced. Let’s start with how they treat the residents. They threw my grandfathers call button in the corner of the room(before that they took it away from him) and the elderly man in his room fell and they yelled for help for over 10 MINUTES for someone to even come. Also because they didn’t want to go and get a commode they told him to mess in his pants and they’d clean him up later. WHAT?! Are you kidding me. They treat the people their including my grandfather like ANIMALS. My grandfather has so many sores it is unreal. My grandmother asked them to start putting lotion on his feet because he’s getting such dry feet that they are cracking you think they could of at least done that? Nope. Not to meantion my grandfather is a f****** VETERAN. I’m m not done with this place this review is my first step. Let’s just say they will not be getting away with this including the supervisors and the boss.
I asked for a conference call with the doctor a month ago for my stepmom & I. My dad has dementia and has lost considerable weight. We have both asked the administrator and others with no success. Regardless of COVID, I am paying for the care of my dad. We can’t visit him and now I can’t get a doctor to have a call to review his charts.
Not a very responsible facility. They have some great employees but they are the minority. I love the employees hiding in the bushes, behind the dumpster smoking when I go to vist my mother. ie last night there were 7 employees, 2 in their car, 2 by the bricks on the driveway, 3 in the bushes at the east end, 1 by the dumpster, 1 employee and 2 patients by the lower level door all smoking. Look at the parking lot, its loaded with cigarettes, liquids (probably coffee after they smoke then dump their coffee on the way in). You would think with the steep parking lor the rain would wash this stuff away. Maybe it does and it just gets loaded right back up. The smells inside are horendous. Meds are not always on time. My mother hadnt had a shower in 4 days. I was there and a male worker came in and she told him about the shower. He dropped everything and took care of it right then. Not a very good place overall.
My grandfather was covered in bedsores and left in dirty depends for so long he had infected rashes on his bottom. The neglect was shocking. His weight dropped so fast that we ended up sending him to hospice expecting his death. Calls to health services haave not beeen answered yet. He improved immediately once out of their care but this was catastrophic for him in the long run. Shame on them all. You workers will be in care someday, too. I hope you dont receive what you gave to my Papabaum, for your sake.
This place treats the patients like prisoners. They also play games with the family-- do this, do that, or we are going to get Adult Protective Services after you ! They are ONLY interested with the MONEY they can get. They sent an 89 year old woman outside of the facility with NO shoes on! She cut her foot because of having nothing on her feet! DO NOT COME To this facility!
Picked up my aunts belongings after she passed, and wow this place seems awful. I am a nurse, and there is no way I would let patients look the way they do at this place. I was coming to visit my aunt and received a phone call as I was boarding the plane that she had passed, and she faced numerous issues at this facility. As we walked in, a few patients asked for us to find someone to help them. Nobody could be found. For god sakes, as we left we saw at least 5 nurses out smoking, and 5 other yacking away at the nurses station.. Now I understand why the patients I see at the hospital, that come from nursing homes, always look terrible, with issues that should have been addressed days ago. Come on nurses, you should know better. It is embarrassing to the career that you treat people like this.
Run!!! My friend fell and broke her leg and went to Absolut for rehab. When she arrived at 3p no one assisted in helping her into bed. The guy in Absolut uniform said he couldnt help, so Serafini driver helped her into bed (thank God for him). Then at like 9p two sides walked in and went to assist her roommate with not a word to her. She asked wheres my wheelchair & commode, because Im non-weight bearing. They looked at each other and said did you know shes non-weight bearing. They left the room with out rreturning. Keep in mind its 9p.. she had been there since 3p. No meds, no food, no contact other than tweedle dumb and tweedle dee. She spotted an aide and asked to see a supervisor. This so called supervisor walked in with her little black dog and asked her what she needed. My friend explained that she had an order for a commode and a wheelchair and this woman stated.. no commode you can use a bed pain it easier for us! Then the woman and her dog disappeared.... When a commode was finally brought in the next morning it was just a seat with nothing to catch the waste. What a joke... When my friend had enough, less than twenty-four hours after arriving, she told them she was leaving. Then they were concerned enough to threaten calling adult protective services on her. To that she said Good then Ill get into a descent facility.
Sorry to hear that everyone is having such problems with this place. I know that H&S Senior Care at 225 Robinson street is great if youre looking for in home care and their people dont just sit around they engage their patients. The only thing is that they are private pay only.
Please do Not place anyone you love or care about. Filth, neglect, its a model for a house of horrors. Tube feeders at high risk for aspiration due to staff incompetence. Skin breakdown, infections, its all right here. No person or living animals hold be subject to such an environment. I removed my mother after 1 month.
The worst place on the planet. My husband went in basically healthy, just needed to have some rehab. These people switched his medication around so much now I dont even know what he takes, left him screaming in pain for hours, pull his cather out(the last time gave him a deadly infection they are trying to stop). This place almost killed my husband and I am talking to lawyers now.
Appalled at the lack of visitor and handicapped parking, due to employees taking these spots. If something isnt done soon to expell this situation I will rightfully be calling the sheriffs office and tow companies. I talked to a few friends who visit there and find this has been a on going problem despite several complaints.
When I saw my father in law I saw how contracted his arms and legs were, I was told by his daughter that he wasnt in that condition before going to Absolut Care.He didnt have the pads on that were recommend by the doctor for pressure wounds that developed while he was in Absolute Care. And as a result of this he had pressure wounds on his back and ankles. His contracted muscles were a result of not getting range of motion therapy often enough or at all by how curled up he became,I was horrified at how he looked. Also when we wanted to use the call bell it wasnt on the bed my son found it tangled and under the bed.
It is very painful for you too sit on a bed pans for hours before some one to answer the call lite for help some of the cna here do not care about residents there for a pay check if you send family here keep a eye on them and listen to them (not all Cna) Maury Maury the food taste like you are eating lets say Human wast I got hurt here and no one is doing anything to fix it they keep saying their going help but its been 3 years and the only thing that is happening is the bill is getting bigger I MISS MY FAMILY l want to be Home 🚶 walking like was when i came here Thanks

2022-06-10Our mother has been in Absolut Center in Endicott for 3 years. Mom and our family have been treated with such extraordinary care, concern & compassion that Mom has flourished and we have continually been comforted knowing that Mom is in such good hands. This past week we needed to take Mom out of the facility for a few hours and the entire team worked to have Mom prepared. We are so deeply grateful and every day that gratitude is reinforced by Moms general content. Mom has flourished at Absolut Endicott and we want to thank the team for all they do for Mom and all the residents. A very special thank you especially to Jim Conklin.

2022-06-03Such a caring and awesome staff! My grandmother was there after breaking her hip and the whole family was skeptical due to what weve heard and read but I can assure you that was not OUR experience. We were able to visit with her and be a apart of her recovery journey. The team on the rehab unit is truly amazing!

2022-07-05My mom passed away this morning at Absolut. She was there on comfort care for the last 2 weeks. I read the reviews, and I had my moment of Eww when I first walked in. It was old, dirty in places, and the smell… ugh. But let me tell you about the staff. My mother loved everyone there and they loved her right back. They were so caring and attentive. And omg the patience they showed with all the residents. Amazing! The food was always good. Coffee hot. They catered to my mom’s special diet. I can’t say enough good things about everyone. The only thing I would suggest is some state official somewhere give them more funding to update that facility. Those people deserve it. My mother got top quality care from a place people speak poorly of. It’s sad. I wish all you ladies well.Much love,Amy J

2022-04-20On a professional level, Kat and Donna were horrible. We all have a job to do and it is key to be professional at all times. A big part of my job function to make calls to healthcare businesses and verify health-related information. If I am not rude to you, do not be rude to me. Please take a customer care tutorial before you ruin your companys reputation.

2022-06-15Nice facility with a great caring staff! They went through a lot just like other homes during covid and have managed to take care of their residents and putting our minds at ease. Thank you all, keep up the good work!

2022-05-31I had a family member there. She was forced by a nurse to get out of bed and walk herself to the doorway of her room for meds. When she told the nurse she was dizzy and need to sit that nurse slammed the door on her. the door hit her and She broke her hip and has a brain bleed from the assault. Two weeks later she’s still in the hospital.. had to have surgery to repair the hip.. the night it happen the charge nurse tried to coerce the family to not have the ambulance come and take her to the hospital. This is a horrible sick place, no one should ever be here.

2021-05-27WARNING! DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE!The following was copied/pasted from an employee of Absolut Care:During my time there, I had a patient who was trying to tell me he could not breathe. I will keep his name out of this for his privacy, so I immediately ran to get an o2 reader, I politely asked the nurse for one, and I was told she couldnt find one, and that she didnt know where anything is in this place and he has a DNR anyways. I finally found one and his oxygen was drastically dropping. I turned the oxygen up to 15, and he was still very unstable, with that a nurse came in and said I have some morphine here hopefully its not too much, oh well and administered it orally. There are 3 patients off the top of my head that do not get fed meals because they are annoying, or a hassle they put the tray in the room but tell me to move it far enough away where they cant reach it, and they will go back in there about 10 minutes later and pick up the trays and write it off as they refused to eat.During my time there, which was very short there were two deaths within the same day. Again, I will keep their names out of this post for their privacy. The one male was fine, tried getting out of bed, but was not allowed to, he was far from ill. He would bang on the wall and ask one of us to bring him a hose to wash his car (Im assuming going back in time to his younger days) one day, I came into my shift and he was asleep. The entire shift. I asked if I should wake him up and was told gosh no, hes fine he didnt get fed meals and was asleep like that for a few days, by the third day I came into my shift and was told he passed. Another gentleman who was sleeping for a few days & not fed meals passed that same day. There is now one woman there who is sleeping non stop, she was perfectly fine a few days ago. It sets uneasy in my stomach that they all go the same way. They will be fine, then sleeping for about 3-4 days then eventually pass. And its always with all the difficult patients. I was also told at the nurses station by the supervisors daughter during my first few days dont be nervous, you can get away with murder here, literallyOne patient who is a fall risk, and is now on the dementia unit, fell twice in one day, the nurse that was one was already having a bad day. When I went to get her when I found him on the ground she closed the door and started screaming and cursing at him and told him hes staying there. The icing on the cake was me not getting a break 2 separate days, no 15 minute break, no 30 minute lunch. And the supervisors covering up for a staffs behaviors. The same staff who also left her relative who is a patient there in FILTH, and told me I could get away with murder. I left early on May 24th, and was threatened by the supervisor that my job would be in jeapordy and how unprofessional it was for me to walk out. But it wasnt unprofessional for their staff to be sitting at the nurses station doing nothing while I had 2 new admits, and 12 of my own patients ringing their call bell. Not to mention, I am not licensed to administer medications, but was told to do a few of the patients that arent all there because they dont know whos giving them their medicine by a nurse. If you have loved ones here, you need to rethink this place. I was warned by first responders that this place was no good. And now I saw for myself. Cameras will be pulled and there was voice recordings taken. This place needs to be shut down. Please share this post so the word gets spread.

2018-08-07I have been at Absolut Care of a bit over a year and can honestly say Ive seen it all - the good, not so good and the excellent! The therapy was awesome, even after I was complete I was able to use the gym to do my routine exercises. My room could have been more spacious considering the fact that both my roommate and I had a lot of things however, housekeeping did a good job of keeping it clean. The set-up needs to change, tv should be closer to my bed so that the volume wont interfere with roommates and each room should have its own thermostat so that temp can be better controlled. The food is good - the common mistake here is that something always seems to be left off my ticket and that we were not informed of the new changes to the menu. Daily activities are offered which is nice but my recommendation is that the spa day should be open to both male & female. The staff is good and mostly helpful and they usually take the time to listen and make an effort to resolve my issues but on the weekends they dont seen to perform as well. Nursing and medical team was good for the most part however, I was not always consulted when things changed. Also, I feel like once I was able to do certain things some staff stopped checking to see if I needed assistance. Main issues: transport to appointments in a timely manner, treatment orders and food. Positives: THERAPY, friendliness of staff & activities offered. I plan on returning to volunteer at the facility and hope to help make it a much better place to reside! :)

2019-10-31My husband is here for therapy and I am with him for usually more than half the day. The staff is GREAT. Laundry comes back nice, smelling fresh and clean. The food is sufficient, but a bigger portion wouldnt hurt and the soups are absolutely amazing. The therapy he has received has been tremendous and we are looking forward to going home & continuing the recovery process. They have a lot of fun activities offered throughout the day if you want to participate.

2021-08-28The only good thing about this place was the therapy staff members!!! Each and every one were amazing! But for the remaining staff members you relied on the other 23 hours of the day... A pure nightmare! The worst 4 months of my life! Now I need psychiatric help from the worsened PTSD this place did to me! From unfair treatment, nurses stealing your pain meds and replacing them with god only knows what, effing up your meds and accidentally putting someone elses pill in your cup and being a med youre allergic to, to them stealing items off your food trays, not giving immobile residents their trays to actually murdering residents, etc... This place needs to be shut down immediately! If its the last thing I do, I will take them down!!! DO NOT SEND ANY LOVED ONES HERE!!!
