ACME Markets in other cities:
This is my neighborhood grocery store, I actually live in the neighborhood right behind it and I shop here multiple times a week. They have great sales on staples such as beans and frozen vegetables. Fresh produce such as spinach, tomatoes, bananas and everything you can imagine is offered at affordable to cheap prices. I am always impressed with the diligent quality control of the store brand items, especially compared to the more expensive and poor quality store brands of Stop N Shop.If you download their app and join the rewards program, you receive coupons for items you purchase frequently. I can sometimes buy 12 eggs from here for 77 cents and since joining I have never paid more than 49 cents a pound for the bananas that I eat every single day anyway.
The deli in this store, even with the remodel, is the worst. The salads and deli meat tend to spoil much faster than from other grocery stores. The deli runs very slowly even when they are not busy. My husband politely asked for the cold cut to be cut a certain way. The lady went to slice the meat. She came back with the complete opposite of what we asked for. She started ranting at us that we asked for thinner cut when we actually asked for dinner cut. The Boars Head display lists dinner cut as an option and she had no idea what we were talking about even when I pointed at the sign. She proceeded to insist we said thinner and started spelling at us and tried to picked a verbal fight that she was right. I never make mistakes! she grumbled at us. She was a short West Indian woman. I work with people too. If I spoke to customers the way she did, Id be fired on the spot. If you get this woman, expect poor customer service, a bad attitude, and your order to be wrong with no apologies. Ill go 10 miles out of my way for a better Acme, or better yet, just go to another grocery store all together.
They have an excellent butcher shop. You can get anything custom cut. Seafood section also well stocked. A nice bakery, lots of choices. They also have a hot bar at lunch/early dinner time frame. They have quite a few sales (buy 1 get 1 free). My only real complaint is the store is on the small side and the aisles are too narrow.
Nice little shopping center. Acme as a large choice a produce frozen foods flowers etcetera also CVS Dunkin Donuts I need Little Italian restaurant and a place to get your hair blown out in the same complex and the bank pretty much meets all your needs when youre on the Run I need to get things done right away
The disappointment!!! Asparagus on the display dry! The meat selection didnt look fresh at all! In the Deli dept. trays look dry & old, not very delectable in any form or fashion. Some of the staff seemed to be helpful, responsive, & courteous. If you need something basic canned, boxed, or bottled this is the spot. Considering the amount of taxes to live in this area.... I expected better....
I love this store. The staff is very friendly, will go out of their way to help you, but not in that gooey, obsequious way that makes your skin crawl. They carry a superb variety of items, including things you cant find in other stores. And you simply cannot beat their prices.
Staff is friendly. Lines can be a little long at times. When there are sales you better get there fast. Dont be like me and try and go on the last day bc they will be sold out! Its a grocery store, maybe a little bit pricier compared to stop N shop or shop rite, but its conveniently located in Rye Brook and it tends to be my go to!
I went to the deli for a couple of things with my wife. I politely asked for my cold cuts to be cut a certain way. The lady went to slice the meat. She came back with the complete opposite of what we asked for. She starts ranting at us that I asked for “thinner”, when I asked for “dinner cut”....like the deli itself instructs you to do. The woman claims that “she never makes a mistake”. Well....Apparently, you do! It was a West Indian lady who helped us. If you get her, make sure you have q-tips on you, so she’ll hear what you say.... It must be nice to talk to a customer as rudely as she did and get away with it. I work with people as well. If I talked the way she did to us, I’d be fired on the spot!

2022-03-20Love the location in Rye Brook. Nice selections, good prices, fruits and veggies very good. They have things the White Plains location doesnt stock. Found YooHoo in bottles here, yay! Deli area is annoying, people dont know how to line up.

2021-12-12Food smells really bad but no different than other chain supermarkets. I buy water and a few dairy items. Prices are not better than Whole Foods unless you join their club and clip coupons. Online points are only good for ExxonMobil but Exxon is directly responsible for damaging the environment and deliberately lying to the American public for 30 years, all the while knowing that what they were doing was causing global warming.

2021-09-22This is a small supermarket. It was well stocked and clean. They sell some seafood, have a bakery, and a deli. The employees are friendly and helpful. They have safety dividers and signs for social distancing. Not all customers were wearing masks.

2020-10-20Went here for an item and they didnt have it. The prices here have come down a bit since they opened. They are still high but they are more in line with the other stores around. The store is kept pretty clean in comparison to the others which makes it nice. They stopped sending printed circulars in the mail which is very disappointing because I always shop at home using the circulars. I dont like using the apps because there is always something I need and dont always remember to put it in the app. I guess I am old school and like my written list which hangs on my refrigerator at home because when I run out of something I just put it on my list when I am in the kitchen instead of running to get my phone from the charger which is in my office. Furthermore, I sit in the kitchen with the circulars and write on my list items on sale which I need or about to run out of. This is a lot easier than trying to put in the phone in their app which is hard to manipulate.
