Heard of this joint by word of mouth. They did not have buffet like the usual Indian restaurants. However, the choices are great. We tried out lamb rogan gosh and chicken chettinad. I must say the chicken chettinad was really awesome. We ordered lacha parota to go with it. We will go back surely to try out more of their dishes. Would definitely recommend to try!
Very delicious and authentic food! The north and south indian (off menu items) food was just so delicious and the service was the best! James, one if the waiters, was so helpful and friendly. My fiance is from Kerala and this has been one of the most authentic south indian food weve had in a very long time! Everything we order was great. We ordered the samosa chaat, masala dosa, the beef fry (off menu), chicken tikka masala, the kerala parotta (off menu), the shrimp mappas, and the mango lassi. Everything was delicious! If you want real indian food, go here!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️A warm and friendly welcome with fantastic customer service. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “Just a few lines to thank you so much for the wonderful meal on Saturday night celebrating my birthday with my friends.Extremely high standard of Indian cuisine, coupled with great restaurant atmosphere. Very courteous/happy staff. A real pleasure. All friends very impressed. I will return!!!“ A great addition to ROCKLAND COUNTY , suffern
We were driving back from Upstate NY around night. We had called the restaurant to order the food. They respectfully told us that if we are not there by certain time, they will not be able to keep our place. We reached 10 mins before their closing time. The staff was very accommodative and our food was ready and nicely done. We liked their professionalism as well as intimation upfront.
Recently, we ordered takeout for the 1st time here and the Kati rolls were delish!! Chicken was so flavorful and tender!!! The mild was perfect in terms of spice but so flavorful. Family said the lamb was tender and delish! Those who ordered spicy said it was perfect for them! We liked that they tasted healthy bc it was in a chapati (wheat crepe) and not inside a parotta so it didnt taste greasy at all! Cant wait to order again!
Stopped here after hike in the Harrisman state park. Great place! Clean.Food was delicious, freshly prepared, proper service. It was first time for our kiddo to try Indian cuisine, and it went very well.My only suggestion - ask about level of spiciness, do not put everyone in mild category by default.Would happily eat here again.
We had an unbelievable dinner at adaraka. They are a notch above your typical Indian restaurant. I love that you can distinctly taste each spice in the curries (lots of aniseed and cardamom notes in my dish), and i love that the curries have more varied textures than im used to. Service was great as well! Well worth a visit if youre ever in town!
Excellent Indian food. We started off with Rasam soup and it was the best I had in a while with pepper and garlic. Their bhindi sabzi , roti, dal everything was so tasty. Very different from a regular Indian place. Their aam panna is also something you dont want to miss. All in all, very very good experience. Will definitely return. Must must try.
We absolutely loved the place and the food at Adaraka. We ordered Lassuni Gobhi for appetizers and it was delicious. For main course we opted for Paneer Makhani and chapati. Paneer Makhani also came along with a decent portion of Rice. Makhani Gravy was Rich, Creamy and had a hint of sweetness. For Drinks we ordered Mango Lassi and Fresh Lime Soda. A big shout out to their Fresh Lime Sweet and Salty Soda. It was the-best I have ever had. Also the staff was very caring :) I am definitely coming back here.
We placed an order for pick up. The food was so delicious and the order was done quickly. We ordered Chicken madras and Bhindi do pyaza ( mild ) it was an excellent choice . My kids really loved it . I highly recommend this Indian restaurant located in a very convenient area .
New owners. New and improved menu. Love that the menu is much larger with many more apps than most Indian spots. They also have my favorite, thali. Love that the chicken is organic and the salmon is Scottish. The dosa here (everything) is really good. Service is excellent, drinks are generous.
Yesterday had lunch with my kids and grand-parent. The restaurant was very accomodating - gave us a nice corner and made sure when other customers came in, ample social distance was maintained by picking other sides of the restaurant. Felt at ease to enjoy a meal, as a mom with kids. No one snooping over you or giving the looks at the kids. The food was amazing- we started with the masala dosa. It was huge and long. Each of my kids ate one whole and was picking on mine. We loved the sides that came with it. The potato/veg stuffing in it was generous and at the same enjoyed the crispy dosa- best eaten dine -in.Then we had the Indian naans and lamb mappas. Enjoy every bite of it.It is definitely a nice place to take some one out. Their chai and indian lassis were good and filling.Definitely going back for the drinks too!One thing I would advise is better to take a reservation, since we saw 3 other families come in while we were finishing and they were getting busier after 1ish pm.
Got a party catered from here last week, and all my guests were raving about how good the food was! This will be my new go-to place for Indian food. The staff were very helpful and accommodating, and the order was ready quickly, and on time. Havent tried the buffet here yet, but if it anything like the dishes I got ordered, Im sure it will be fabulous!
My fiance and I embarked on this gem on a Sunday afternoon while looking for brunch places. We found this cute little Indian restaurant in the heart of Suffern! The staff was so welcoming as they greeted us upon arrival. We are picky with Indian food since we eat so much of it and wanted to try items that were exclusive to Adaraka! We were definitely blown away with their Adaraka paneer, so rich and earthy full of mouthwatering flavors! The sauce really brought the dish life and was delicious on its own. I also recommend the Navaratri Korma with chili Naan! This is my new comfort food, so full of taste and love from the Adaraka family. We will definitely be making many trips back here!!
Omg! The food was amazing 😍! Ive never had Indian food before & that was delicious 🤤. I got the Adaraka Lunch Platter with the Chicken Tikka Masala. That sweet taste in the sauce made it really good. And the basmati rice was cook to perfection. Hands down fantastic! God bless the chef & this business 🙏🏾. I definitely recommend anyone to go there & have dine-in or rake out lunch.
We catered from ADARAKA for my daughters baptism and were really happy in working with Jacob and team! Not only was the food delicious, the restuarant went above and beyond to create pre-packaged lunch bags for us based on the guest list we shared. Superb customer service, great food, and easy to work with for catered orders. Will be ordering from here again!
My wife & I were passing by this area and saw the great reviews & 5 stars so we came to give it a try. And truly the food, service & staff were amazing!!We went again our family members & same taste , service was there. Everything was outstanding!! We ordered many different items (all vegetarian) & they were all different & unique taste to it. I will keep going back again & again. I highly recommend to everyone!!
I randomly found this restaurant on a business trip. Immediately I was struck by how attentive and friendly the staff were, and was then served an imaginatively presented and delicious meal. The menu was clearly marked with gluten free options and I was impressed by the waiters and atmosphere. I will certainly return. This is a restaurant making a huge effort to make a success of itself and it deserves to prosper.
Awesome place !!! I was in Mahwah for a wedding with a group of friends & had to find a place for lunch before we checked in to the hotel. I picked this place not expecting a lot. But to our surprise it ended up being a great spot with beautifully plated food that not only looked colorful but also tasted great. The chicken biriyani was very flavorful. The chicken tikka had the right amount of spice and was juicy. We were a big group with 10 adults and 10 kids. The service was great. We spoke to the chef and front manager. This place is run by very passionate people who tries everything they can to make your dining experience better. I would definitely recommend this place for tasty food and a great upscale dining experience !!!!
Awesome food. I travelled from stlouis here for work and looking for good Indian restaurant, surprised to see lot of reviews five star and first suspected it could be fake reviews but I thought I will give it a try. I took right decision. Food is amazing and I loved it. Simply superb and nice service too.
Really good and for a good price. Was travelling for some work when I ate here and I had been craving Indian food for a few days. They did not disappoint ! Especially Lamb KormaFood was good, service was prompt, atmosphere was casual and the service staffs were very friendly. If youre in the area, definitely stop by !
The food in this location is amazing and i cant stop raving about it with my friends and family. One of the best tasting indian food in the area. I will definitely recommend it to anyone. The customer service here is wonderful. The waiters and chef really put a 100 percent into what they do and you can see that once you step into the resturant. I will go back again with my family.
I visited Adaraka for the first time this week. Few things impressed me as a customer:General impression: Indian restaurants have a reputation of serving same dishes without much creativity - NOT at Adaraka. In addition to authentic and expected dishes, they have options which are usually not served in an Indian restaurant. They even offer organic, gluten free, and healthy options (It’s about time - Thank you, Adaraka). Owner was present and he mentioned that they source the meat directly from the supplier - that’s a plus.Ambiance: Staff was attentive and polite. I saw them cleaning the common areas throughout the night and all staff were wearing mask. Visiting during the pandemic, this was comforting to see. Ample parking in front and in a nearby free parking lot (1 minute walk). My favorites: Sham Shavera (with Goat cheese!) and Lasuni Gobi (Fried Cauliflower) were great appetizers. I love goat cheese, so I was more than happy to see it multiple dishes including Naan. I tried the Nilagiri and Chettinad curry with Naan/ rice (Yummm!!). Special Diwali desert - Kaju Katli (Cashew) was a perfect ending to a satiating dinner.
Easily one of the best Indian food restaurants in Rockland. A fine dining establishment, all dishes served beautifully, staff extremely attentive (shout out to James!). 5/5 easy. I am editing my review because I had no idea they had a perfect 5 star rating from over 140 reviews! If that isnt a testament to how great this restaurant is, I dont know what would be. Do yourself a favor, stop reading, go eat some delicious food!Edit 2 (1/24/2021): Im not sure why we waited so long to come back, but Adarak did NOT dissapoint. James and Jacob were extremely attentive, as usual, and really cant say anything better than I already have - seriously, why are you still reading this, go get some delicious Indian cuisine!
Tried this place tonight on a whim. Best Indian food I have tried in rockland. Ordered a vegetarian dish (eggplant) and didn’t even miss the meat...the curry was so flavorful! The lacha parotha was so flaky and the garlic on the garlic naan was not bitter or overpowering. Everything was well-plated and the waiter was attentive and friendly. Will definitely return. Hope the quality remains consistent with subsequent experiences.
I been in this restaurant recently. And liked there very much. Staffs are hospitable, staffs are very friendly, the food was very delicious. I would go again and I recommend this place to all my friends. Specially Chef Sijo made a delicious Lamb Ribs dish and Grilled Shrimp.
Excellent Service and Awesome food in a fine, pleasant, and relaxing environment. I ordered Saag Paneer and some Goat Cheese Naan. My friends ordered Lamp Chops and Dosa. Our servers (Sijo and James) were very attentive but not intrusive...just perfect. They offered our table the best selection of wine and cocktail drinks. I have rarely had such good Indian food, or restaurant food with great service for that matter. We all loved our time at Adaraka Indian Restaurant. I will return with my friends for lunch. I cannot wait to try their other dishes!! I would totally recommend this place!!
One of my favourite indian restaurant! We tried most of the restaurants in the suffern area and ADARAKA is the one we keep coming back to. I love their lunch buffet because we can try a little bit of everything and its delicious. Its perfect for someone who is trying indian food for the first time. We were also pleasantly surprised by their dinner service - a menu full of intriguing entries. The service has always been very attentive, whenever weve been their.
Yesterday was the first time we visted this good restaurant .we passed a splendid evening with attentive service , with the finest cooking and wine ,soothing music . chicken tikka masala n palak paneer was really amazing , hats off to chef . we will come back . great place for family . our server and service was outstanding .
We had been going to Priya for over 20 years, so we were surprised to see a new restaurant in its place this time on a recent trip to Suffern. We got some take out for New Years Eve dinner and were pleasantly surprised by how tasty and delicious the food was. We still need to visit a couple more times to try out more of the new menu, but we plan on visiting again.
Great Experience! Loved the food, Great flavor and Great service. I would totally recommend this place. I have been to this place numerous time. But loved the renewed place. Great selection of beer, wine and cocktails. A must try is their Goat Cheese Naan bread. Truly Awesome!!
A moment agoI was attracted with Google review while I was driving from philly to Boston, when I walk in only three tables and I was surprised what great about this restaurant and got this much rating? As soon I got my Adaraka martini ( ginger martini ) myself start understanding there quality of service and I got my food , palak chat ( crispy spinach ) appetizer, Scottish salmon madras and lamb biryani , tawa paratha ... everything was outstanding, I can feel chef signature in every dish and beautiful plating. Past 7 years daining in various Indian restaurants but nothing like Adaraka... and best of luck to young entrepreneurs
Great food, authentic flavours - particularly South Indian malyali style cuisine, and friendly staff. We tried the weekend lunch buffet. The starters had freshly made medu vada, chutney/sambar, dhokla, and fairly decent assorted chicken kebabs. Main course curries were the best part of the meal. Each curry had a distinct unique flavour and included malabari fish, chicken tikka masala and lamb chettinad. Malabari biryani, which I didn’t try since my Biryani loyalties are aligned elsewhere, seemed well cooked. There were vegetarian options too, Palak paneer and dal were standouts. The dessert had fruit salad in mango fondue, and it was delicious!
The food at adraka appears simple but flavors have remarkable depth . It’s range of Indian spices are amazing... I tried salmon masala with rice .. the shop is both clean and tidy and the staff members there greeted my companion and me with smiles as warm as the pies they serve there☺️ . I would throughly recommend Adraka to anyone with sensible taste buds . I know i’ll certainly be returning soon ..
Delivery was 1 hour and 40 minutes late, despite repeated calls where we were told it was on its way. It arrived cold, the chicken was rubbery as if it had been reheated multiple times. Repeated calls to the restaurant to rectify the situation resulting in them hanging up on me claiming I had to call back and speak to their boss, who was “outside” and couldn’t be brought inside for a phone call. Note: it’s approx 20 degrees out, I doubt he was actually outside.
Stop it! Seriously, stop! You can’t be this good, yet you are! The Khurma was excellent, the Danawal fantastic! Garlic Naan so fresh and the off-menu papadum was addicting. Then we decided to order Ras Malai for dessert, heavenly! Shut up, and stop your nonsense! Ugh, why are you this good? Suffern is lucky my neighbors from NYC haven’t found out about this or else the town would be over-run.
I visited Suffern Masjid Darul Ehsan last Friday, after the prayer I was look for good halal food near by surprisingly I found this please, I went in without any expectation but it was big surprise for me lunch chicken special for $10 ? I thought something cheep, but they surprised me with organic chicken curry, dal madras , kale salad, green peas pulao , naan and gulab jamun for dessert, wow I can’t believe . How they can give this much items for $10? I ask one of waiter , he said they recently open and they trying to promote food for affordable priceThank you ! and you guys willSee me every Friday
Place gets 5 stars hands down, Ordered the vindaloo shrimp with coconut rice and it blew me away, my wife likes spicy but too much so I told em to mild it down and they were very accommodating had some nan garlic bread on the side and it was delicious definitely glad they are in town great things are happening in downtown suffern finally we are getting somewhere.

2022-04-16Picked up some food from Adaraka and it was amazing. Ordered the Rogan Josh, the chicken tikka masala, the chicken biryani, garlic naan, and peshwari naan and all were delicious. I havent been able to find any peshwari naan in the US as every restaurant I have been to that has it on its menu doesnt actually have it in stock but they had it here and it made my day. Ive never has Rogan Josh but if its always like the one I had here, I might have to start ordering it more often. Chicken tikka masala is always a staple and this did not disappoint. Ordered online and the estimated time was 20 minutes but my email notification said it would be 45. Got to the restaurant in 25 just in case and it was already good to go. I was easily able to find some street parking right out front. If youre a fan of Americanized Indian food, Adaraka will not disappoint!

2021-10-23Decent Indian food. They have a great drinks menu. The table service is great Very nice and clean restaurant. Food presentation is great. We ordered the chicken tikka masala, garlic naan and goat dum biryani to go. The garlic naan were on point. The chicken Tikka masala was average. Overall very well presented, decent tasting Indian food. We also ordered the masala chai which was disappointing as it felt like regular chai.

2022-02-14Loved the foods. Specially that lemon rice, I tried in so many places but so far I liked there most. I tired some other items also. We ordered butter chicken and black pepper chicken with naddan porotta it was really delicious. Their mango lassi was amazing 🤩 And very good customer service.

2022-03-05Really great food, dishes from all regions of India. Excellent service too. Probably the most well stocked bar in town but you go there for the food.

2021-05-02First time here. Amazing food, top notch service, great ambience. Dishes we tried and liked: eggplant chaat (the eggplant in it was in the form of pakoda and was very light and crispy), chole saag (has a hint of mint, very unique flavor), aloo Gobi (the red style with medium size cauliflower chunks), chicken curry, paper dosa and strawberry milkshake. It’s kinda far from us but we will try to go there again and also it’s a good place to take your friends to. They will rave about it afterwards.

2021-03-30A perfect Masala dosa is one that is crisp, aromatic, flavourful and has a potato masala or spiced seasoned potatoes stuffed in it. My search for one of these crispy crepes in the USA ended today at AFARAKA. Presented on a banana left as it should with the ends so long it hung off the table. Try but I warn you they are quite addictive and delicious.

2022-06-01An American or English version of the Indian cuisine. It should appeal to non Indians. But the spices and intricacy that makes Indian food irresistible is missing. The paneer tikka masala or chicken kabob will leave a lot to be desired for Indians. So many dishes and drinks unavailable from their menu. The cholle sabji was pretty good and other dishes had some nice freshnessWhen I saw the restaurant rating, I couldnt resist, but as with all things in life, take it with a grain of salt.Final nail: Theres a ~20% service charge on the bill that explicitly says doesnt include tips 😂. So one has to pay tip on top of a gratuity charge? Never seen other restaurants work like that. Maybe this is an upscale neighborhood. 🤔
