I will admit that I was at first a little unsure since it was drive through only & it was a bit pricey at $12 a head and $4 a cup of food, but it was worth it. The animals came right up to your car, the staff was all really friendly and knew how to keep the flow going all the way from the line outside to the line of vehicles inside. It was a great experience for me and my family & I was happy to see them adjust through the pandemic.
Very nice drive through zoo price was decent $12 per person per food 3 cups for $10.. you can pet feed the animals but need to stay in your vehicle... could use some more varieties of animals but still good feels like an safari...i do recommend for family especially with kids
Visited here 7/12/2020. Great family place! $12 per person. Kids UNDER 2 are FREE. A cup of food is $4 or 3 for $10. We went on a Sunday morning, it was quite busy. We arrived at 12:30 and finished in about an hour and fifteen minutes. This place takes CASH only!! They do have an ATM on site if you forget to bring cash on your way in. They ask that you feed the animals from the cup and not your hand to prevent getting bit.
We love this place so much that our family visited the Adirondack animal land for the second time. The zoo is perfect size for our two young boys. The animal attractions kept them smiling from the giraffe hanging over the railings to take a carrot from your hand, or petting/ feeding the goats and deer. The Safari tractor ride was a great amenity that was fun as well as educational. The wide array of animals give an unique blend of different animal cultures. *** The park only accepts cash but they do have an ATM on site.*** The admissions were very reasonable, also they have coupon on their website for two dollars off admission.
The place was well kept. Personally I think some of the animals did not have large enough enclosures but Im used to larger zoos. There are certain portions that are outdated but good for kids (the western town that was set up). My favorite part was the Safari ride. Some of the animals inside and outside of the Safari zone you were able to get very close to. Our 10 month old loved petting the goats. Definitely a good stop for families. You are able to bring in strollers and food for people. Lots of picnic tables to have lunch at and plenty of shade.
Been going here for many years. Very clean and well organized animal park! Paved walkways and play areas along the way to help entertain the little ones. Also, many picnic areas to accommodate lunchtime or just a break. The safari tour and train ride allow e tra visitation and up-close interaction with a wide-array of wild life. Highly recommend!
Really fun place! About the right length of time if the line of cars moves well - which it didnt when we were there, which would be my only concern with the place. Otherwise really neat to see and feed the animals, friendly staff, and no one (animal or human) appeared to feel threatened or uncomfortable at any point during the experience which I appreciated.ATM at the entrance (its cash only). Portapotties too but ideally go at home or at Dunkin donuts down the street since these facilities were not ideal.
I went to Adirondack Animal Land about four days ago with a family member of mine and we were actually quite surprised as to how much this place has changed...and for the good! This place has quite a vast variety of animals that I was not expecting to see at such a small family owned and operated zoo.A few things that I was not expecting are a walk-in bird feeding area, a small alligator feeding area, an ostrich feeding area, a tiny train ride, and an awesome and informational Safari ride with a fun and very well-knowledged Safari tour guide. If youre looking for a fun little trip thatll last approximately 3 hours total, then this is the trip for you!
Cute little animal zoo! Has quite a few different animals. Absolutely love that you are able to pet some of the animals. You are able to see even more animals on the safari ride. Such an awesome experience overall and the kids loved it! Not only is there animals to look at, touch, and feed, but there is a play ground, a little fake town, and little quarter rides for the kids
School field trip with my granddaughter was great! Clean and well organized facility. Plenty of picnic tables to enjoy lunch or a snack. There are plenty of animals to see and feed! The statue of Daniel Boone welcomes you, which was acquired from the former Frontier Town! Bring good walking shoes or sneakers cause youll be walking some hills!
A fantastic little zoo, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Most of the park is shaded, helping to keep cool even in the heat of summer. Almost every exhibit can be interacted with, as well as playgrounds and picnic areas throughout. The price is a bit high, especially if you get the train ride add on, but includes a guided tram ride where animals come up to you. If not for the price point, this would be a must for anyone visiting/ living in the area. As it is, still recommend stopping by for a few hours of fun. As a warning, it is a very hilly area.
We had a birthday party here, and it was the best!! Everything is included for the party, including lunch and the cake, they brought in an animal for the kids to see, our party had our own safari ride, and admission is included in the party price! Animal Land also said they want to try to do birthday parties when the park is closed, in the fall/winter months. Having a party here is as expensive as having a party at a fast food restaurant or ice cream store, it is well worth the money!!
A good place to take the kids. The open cab safari is very interesting and educational. The camels and ostrich are quite tame and you can see amazing herbivores of other types up close too.PLEASE TAKE CASH WITH YOU. They dont accept cards although they do have an ATM on the premises.
4.5 stars. Exceeded my expectations.Pros: heavily-shaded zoo-like atmosphere, was great to stay cool on this hot day and be outside. Very clean pens. I think the shade and cleanliness help the next pro, no wild animal smells. Good variety of animals highlighted by giraffes zebras camels monkeys bears ostriches buffalo wolves..etc the safari ride thru the open fields with the animals was short and sweet and great interactions. Going in the cage with the birds was cool and the petting zoo was good as well. Lots of people having a good time.Cons: (only because i had to come up with something) They dont open until 10am. Great place for kids but kids get up early, need their lunch and a nap. 9am opening would be very popular IMO. I had to pay a fair amount for my 1 year old. 2&under should be free IMO. Wolf pen was really small especially considering size of other exhibits. Food options were just ok but i wasnt there to eat anyways. I guess it would be weird to have an awesome burger shack there. Lol
Perfect for smaller children. My granddaughter had such a good time seeing the animals and watching her mommy feed them. The camels and other bigger animals were a little scary for a 2 yr old at first but she loved them from a distance. The smaller animals, little pigs, and ponies were her favorites! Really cute little gift shop. Reasonably priced and clean!
Besides being super hot and humid yesterday my kids had a great time. Its definitely a lot of walking with many hills for those who may struggle. Many animals were sleeping due to the heat I believe. Our favorite part was the aviary and feeding the alligators. As far as the price I feel people are charged way to much for admission especially children under two that wont remember anything anyways.
It was a good place for the kids. They say several 100 animals which they do have just not to many different types of species. The train trip was very short. In my opinion it may be 10.00 over priced. Make sure you find the coupon for a couple dollars off. PS. The animals love carrots.
Amazing cute gem who would have thought right here in this area.I will take the grandchildren there again again and again a cup of feed to feed the animals is $4 each buy as much as you like and the fee per person in the car for everyone over 2 years old is $12. I dont mind its helping the place so go out there and support this wonderful place, wonder what they do with the camels in the brutal Adirondack winters? All the animals from the camels to the zebras were all wonderful and you can see them all up close and personal from the comfort of your car, I got to see those famous double eyelashes camels have that helps protect them from the desert storms drive slow be mindful of the animals and enjoy more of creation.
Neat place. They had some baby bears with no mama. Looked too young to be alone. Some animals were pacing, sign of boredom. The hooves on others were in need of trimming. Extremely unhappy with their wolf enclosure. It is small and they are not purebred. They claim full wolf, they are hybrids. By claiming wolves and not explaining that they are wolfdogs they enforce the publics view of huskies being 98% wolf. I am so unhappy with the fact they were not educating people on this fact. This is a picture of the wolf that is actually a hybrid. Proof- snow nose, inadequate fur on the ears, harsh stop on the face, no scent gland on the tail, paws were small, dog stance and did not single track.
I absolutely love zoos, but unfortunately this didnt exactly scratch that itch for me. They have clearly put in a lot of work setting things up for covid regulations, but its just not the same. Having to go through the zoo in your car is an unfortunate reality, and all in all, Animal Land did a good job at this. Was it worth the 12$ per person to ride around and see some kinda cool animals? Yes. Would I go there again to do it, probably not.
Just got back from taking the grandchildren on our yearly trip. The 8 and 10 year old were very disappointed not being able to walk and see any monkeys, bears, tigers, birds, no petting zoo area. A lot of the exotic animals are gone. Our 10 yr old called it boring. Mostly saw camels, ostrich, emu, deer, pot belly pigs ,3 zebra and a few other barn animals. The 3yr old had fun but didnt know any different. I spoke to the cashier in the gift shop and she said they sold and/or traded all the other animals to other zoos. They will remain as a drive-thru zoo from now on. What a shame.
I loved Animal Land and my family and I would always stop by everytime we visited family in NY. The kids loved seeing all the different animals and it was a place we could spend most of the day at.They went to drive thru only during covid which is understandable but say they plan on maintaining that for the foreseeable future and do not have any plans to change that. While the drive thru was still enjoyable, at $12 a person, we felt this was very expensive for the new business model as the do not have a diverse population of animals anymore. As much as we love Animal Land and would be disappointed to see them close their doors, we do not plan on going back until they go back to the previous business model of having a diverse animal population that we can walk around and observe. We arent doing this out of protest, our experience just wasnt nearly as enjoyable as our previous visits.
Overall a nice experience. I wasnt impressed by anything because same animals we kept seeing ( lama, sheep, ostrich) in every sectionbut my children enjoyed it so thats what matter. We stayed in our car entire time and drove around.$12 per person and free under 2.You can also pay additional and get food to feed the animals.
Fun park with lots of beautiful animals!! Process was simple and the drive thru Safari was lots of fun!Took about 40 minutes to go through the entire park. Saw dozens of different types of animals. Lots of beautiful nature as well like Pine Trees throughout the park.Great place to come visit !
This place exceeded my expectations! Took my 4 and 2 year old grandchildren on one of the hottest days of the summer. AL was a nice place to be, it provided a lot of shaded areas, the animals were fun to feed, (the fenced in deer) it was not crowded, and the safari.... Wow! that was so much fun for any age! The camels come right up to the safari ride, the ostrich’s follow close behind...many incredible animals to see, feed, and touch on this educational adventure!
We were pleasantly surprised by this place. The park was super clean, the staff was friendly and they had a nice selection of animals to see and feed. The safari ride was fun, the animals come up to the sides and poke their heads in, the kids loved it! Great way to spend an afternoon.
Animal Land has always been a family favorite of ours for an animal adventure. This year, due to Covid 19, they adapted and created this AMAZING drive through experience. You drive along a path in own car, and pass through woods/fields. You can purchase food at the entrance and midway through for $3 per plastic cup/$10 for three cups. (We bought 6 cups for our family of four and could have gone through way more!) . The camels were the first to come up to our car windows to request some food and then the ostriches! Their faces were literally in our windows. If you didn’t want to have that close of an experience, we found keeping our windows half rolled helped to keep a boundary ( if you thing someone in your car would get scared). Next came the petting zoo animals such as llamas, alpaca, and fallow deer. They were in a beautiful shaded woods area. Lastly in the big fields were zebras, ostriches, potbellied pigs and piglets, and some cows.. maybe the camels again. When you exited, there were some Pygmy and smaller goats to pet behind a fence at your leisure and some picnic tables. The gift shop is also open. Overall, it was an excellent adventure we hope to repeat before the 8/31 closing. The animals seemed happy and healthy and the staff was scattered all along the path to help move animals out of your path and to keep the flow of the traffic going as a leisurely, respectful pace. It took about an hour or so to meander though. I am so thankful that Animal Land was able to adapt and create this experience during this time.
What an amazing place. The animals look like they are well taken care of the facility is very clean. We drove up for a family day trip 2.5 hours away and it was worth it. The price is very reasonable paid less than $60 for a family of 3 and it was with food for the animals and the safari rid . The safari ride is amazing my 7 year old loved it(tip try to sit by the guide) the Camels came right up to us as did the buffalo and a few other animals. The deer area was great also as they were very friendly and allowed you to pet them. They have over 80 different kinds of animals on site. Well worth the trip.
I had a really fun time here. My only complaint is that all of the animals are absolutely ravenous and the birds were fighting over the food I was trying to give them. A donkey was mad that we didnt feed him and screamed at us. The deer in the petting zoo would only let you pet them if you had food to offer them. Overall though it was a really great time.
Great place for the kids for a daytime trip. Alot of the park is in the shade, which is a huge plus with kids! Food provided is great, and the covered dining area was a huge plus so no bugs were intruding. The animals were awesome, and very clean. We loved feeding the giraffes! The safari ride was amazing. We loved our guide and captured some great pictures. The gift shop merchandise is very affordable and very diverse! Great bang for your buck!
At present only the drive-through portion of the park is open, but it was quite enjoyable. Among the animals that come right up to your car and which you can feed includes giraffes, camels, ostriches, multiple types of deer, emus, llamas, alpacas, rheas, bison, zebras, donkeys, Watutsi cattle, and more. I recommend buying more than one cup of animal food, as youll need it to keep feeding through the entire park. The prices at the gift shop (at the conclusion of the drive-through) struck me as very reasonable, for this type of place.
This place terrible , I am tempted to go because it is a 10 minute drive but the conditions these animals live in isnt worth it . If you can check out UTICA zoo, fort rickey in rome. Or the Syracuse zoo. Better conditons for the animals and cheaper tickets . I guess it would make up for the gas for the trip out there. Please dont support this business
Awesome family friendly place!!! It has something for everyone to enjoy especially the animals are extraordinary!!!I promise you wont be disappointed. It was 20 of us and everyone was happy . Park is not pricey at all for the attractions they offer. We had an excellent day.
This place was adorable! I really enjoyed the safari and seeing the smaller animals with lots of space. The wolves were pretty depressing trapped in their small cage, though. I hope they get to exercise in more space when the park is closed. However, I got to pet a baby piglet and he even rolled over on his back for belly scratches so that was AMAZING. Also, beware if you enter the bird house wearing bright colors/ patterned shirts. They will land on you and its not easy to get them off! They dont bite or anything though. Overall, very fun day.
I recently visited this animal park. It was the cleanest, friendliest, and well kept park we’ve been to in years. It’s run by a family that obviously love the animals they care for. The train ride and safari ride were amazing. They gave us a lot of information about the animals as well as a bit of humor! Highly recommend this park for families!!
A great place to spend the day with the whole family! The price might seem a bit high, but you get to do so much! You can feed the animals, tons of playgrounds and structures throughout the zoo for the kids, picnic tables throughout the zoo, most of it is shaded, it even has a cute little western town, and a walk through petting zoo to feed deer right up close. The safari ride was the final cherry on top! Just visited this past week while camping nearby. What a great activity!
I went with my wife and 4yo. In these times of covid this is best and safe drive through for animal safari. Kept a sanitizer. There were lot of animals, very friendly and they come automatically to your car. My kid was able to feed almost all animals. For few animals like camel and lama the cup mouth was very small and they were unable to eat but for few other animals it was perfect. Very good place to go out lot of friendly animals and you can touch/feed them. Zebra i know not so friendly animal in general and i guess thats the reason we adviced to not feed them which is perfect. Drive through was very well planned and everything was well maintained. Thanks for maintaining such place and open it during this time with complete safety measures. All the best! Will come back soon when it will be allowed to come out of car haha. I hope soon
I wait all year to have an opportunity to go to Animal Land. The highlight for me is the opportunity to feed giraffes by hand. They are majestic creatures and it is incredible to experience. This facility ensures that the animals are well cared for all year round. They have breeding pairs and every year they have new babies being born at the nature park. I was impressed to see that they even have a pair of red tailed lemurs, which is highly endangered. I would recommend this animal park for all ages. It makes me feel like a kid again. I really have enjoyed visiting this location.
Awesome place, you can pet most animals. Takes about 3 to 4 hours to visit the entire zoo including the Safari Ride. Price is about 60$ for a family of 2 adults and 2 kids. Do pay extra to get carrots at the entrance, some animals dont let them pet you if you dont feed them!No sun screen needed, most area is in the shade.
Over priced. We use to go every summer but the cost is too much for what it is. Should never have to pay 16$ for a 1 yr old to go there is no understanding or memory of the event for that age. My 7 year old was bored as was I after about an hour we saw all there was to see. The safari ride is cool but quick and honestly lacking for someone who has done it in the years previous. I can probably say we wont be returning for atleast a few years.
We visited the zoo today and we were pleasantly surprised. The zoo map online makes the zoo look very small but its actually a decent size once there. It included a safari ride which we really enjoyed. The animals followed the trolley and it was pretty funny. The zoo itself is clean and well kept and the animals are friendly and very visible at all times. There were several play areas for the kids. The admission fee is a little bit high. There is a printable $2 per admission coupon on their website which made the admission fee a little bit more bearable but still a little high. However, I do forewarn future visitors with toddler/infants in strollers.....The flies are unbearable. Bring a stroller net!! The flies landed in clusters all over the stroller and the baby. I spent the whole afternoon shooing flies off of my 7 month old granddaughter. I looked away for a split second and turned to find a fly on the corner of her lip and one on her eye along with many others on different parts of her head. That, of course, is not the fault of the zoo. Flies will go where they will. I do highly recommend this zoo.
Place was small, but great for my son. He is 2. Myself and my husband had a great time as well watching our son interact with the animals. It is CASH only, they do have an ATM on premise. It does cost more to do the train ride and feed the alligators and Imu. They provide the feed for that exhibit. The safari ride is included in your regular base ticket. Some reviews are upset about the price of a child. I understand where you are coming from, but the main focus is for the younger crowd. Plus, they have so many animals they have to feed and do the upkeep for; it shows in their grounds and how well kept the place is. The memories my husband and I have are worth the money. They have a parakeet exhibit, the birds are all over the place it was awesome, they fly onto you and sit on your arm/head/shoulders. The also hitched a ride on my shoes. They sell little seed sticks there for 2 bucks. But the bird literally sits right in your hand eating it. Again an experience worth the 2 bucks. The BABY goats are so gentle with feeding the grain. They fit through the fence and go off to the side fenced in area, this is great for little kids. As the bigger goats are more aggressive when it comes to the food. They dont bite you, they just want what you have. The area where you can go in to see the deer was great as well. They are gentle and mostly will lay there and let you pet them. Except for stomper she is skiddish, will take food from you (again gentle) but does not like to be pet. The monkeys were awesome as well. They love the carrots! Its easier to get the carrots to them if you break them apart into little chunks and toss them to them.On that note, you cant bring in outside food for the animals. They have 10 ounce cups filled with carrot sticks and 10 ounce cups with grain for 2 bucks each. They do reuse the cups so be environmentally conscious and give them back to be reused. The park has a lot of hills, wear sneakers! And they are very steep in certain areas.I hope this review was helpful, it was a great day trip and supports local businesses.
It was a lot of fun and I got to see animals I have never seen before. It was a clean facility and the employees were nice. I recommend the going on the Safari ride and seeing the animals there. I also enjoyed feeding some of the animals, it was definitely worth it to buy the feed cups just to see all the animals up close.
We take our grandkids here every year. They love it here. We always go on the safari ride and enjoy the the close encounter with the camels and other animals. They have a gift store that we visit on our way out, which everything is priced reasonably. We recommend a trip here for anyone looking for a place close. To tell the truth we took our grandkids to the Bronx Zoo and we all prefer Adirondack Animal Land over the zoo.
I took my 4 year old Granddaughter today and we had a blast! I may have had more fun than she did, but I hope not :)I was pleasantly surprised at how many things there were to see and just the right amount of things to do.Only one complaint and that was the Capybaras were nowhere to be seen! Someone visiting said she caught a glimpse of one but they stayed under the water. I was so disappointed, but that will be my excuse to come back before the end of their season! The Safari Ride was the best! The moderator was amazing, so funny, and I cant say enough about him! The animals were hilarious! Never experienced anything like it!!I loved that the animals were mostly free and obviously well cared for, and they are kept there year round, they around shipped off somewhere in the winter months. They even had a place to buy food, and the prices were reasonable. They had a nice screened in place to eat so the amount of flies was cut down considerably.Lots of baby animals, baby alpacas and a baby giraffe and kangaroo.I cant wait to go back and next time I plan on going early and staying the whole day!Fabulous place, I would recommend Adirondack Animal Land to everyone!
We just went with 4 adults and 6 kids from ages 4 to 15. We LOVED this place! The safari was really fun. I do not want to spoil the surprise but I will let you know that this allows people to see the animals close up. ALSO, in a special wooded area, you can feed the deer as they stroll naturally around the woods. This was clearly planned to give people a natural experience. The only thing I would add is that I wish they had a photographer or photo shop. We would have loved to have our family picture taken here!
Pretty good little zoo, the aviary is really fun, The parakeets fly and land on you to eat from these food sticks you buy for 2 bucks. You can also feed deer that roam around in their section for that authentic Bambi experience. You can feed most everything at the zoo. They have a nice safari tour ride. Only complaint and its not really a complaint as much as an observation. They have one wolf and he runs around his enclosure constantly, he seems stressed out and lonely and doesnt have any toys, companion, or obvious other distractions to keep himself calm.
Love the fact the kids could feed pretty much every animal at the park. The trees shaded most of the park which on a hot day was heaven. I would have enjoyed seeing a few more staff about to ask questions or some signs as to the animals names and background, for example the wolves seemed tamed and possibly crossed and it would have been interesting to hear their back story. Also the bear cubs appeared alone and alot of the kids asked were mommy was it would be nice to be able to tell the kids they were rescued or mommy was at the vet whatever the back story to that was. They were amazing to watch play though.
Great family place, the kids really liked it, especially the bird house.Pros: Pedestrian friendly, you can push a stroller or pull a wagon. Most of the park is in the shade. There are picnic tables centrally located under and around a covered area/pavilion, bathrooms, and several playgrounds throughout. You can bring a cooler and pack your own lunch. The safari ride is great fun for kids of all ages - most of the animals come right up to the wagon so you can see them up close.Cons: Entire park, including admission is cash only. There is only one hand washing station (the bathroom) near the entrance of the park. there is one small paved parking lot adjacent to an unpaved overflow grass field (you may need to park far away and walk on busy days). My recommendations, especially with young kids:-plan your visit on a weekday when the park is not so busy-pack a picnic and bring lots of drinking water-wear comfortable shoes for walking (sneakers with socks)-tie back long hair-wear comfortable clothes you can easily run and climb in - and dont mind getting dirty-wear a hat (the birds land on your head in the bird house)-bring a stroller or wagon for the little ones if they get tired-bring lots of quarters and dollar bills to buy food to feed the animals (there are the gumball-type machines filled with animal food all over that take quarters, dollar bills for the feeding sticks for the birds, and dollar bills for the cups of food for the deer at the end of the park)-bring small zip bags or containers with lids to hold animal food-put sunscreen on in the parking lot before you get into the park-and finally, if you want to be very prepared: bring a large bottle of water, hand towel and soap to wash everyones hands before eating lunch or having snacks. Feeding and petting animals is messy business! :)
Love Animal Land! definitely becoming an annual tradition with the family. The animals are so cute and entertaining, you can tell the owners go out of there way to care for the animals. Very Reasonable prices and a very clean facility. Cant wait to see the new babies next year ❤️
Excellent place for adults & children to go. Not very expensive considering the large variety of animals and species you get to view. The ONLY suggestion I could note, is that I would not go more than maybe a few times. This is due to the minimal activities that are held. The safari ride is excellent but to retain reoccurring customer some kind of daily show or side activity should be there. Personally I would go quite often if there were trained monkeys swinging from ropes to reach an object. Or the large rodent creatures racing in the water.Otherwise what an excellent place to take the family!
Great place to take the family! We especially loved the Aviary. Coolest bird experience! Only problem I have it that the park closes at 5 but the gift shop closes at 4:45. Kids were very disappointed when we go there and they were locking the doors. Shouldve stayed open until 5.
We went today with one of our sons and had the best time! This place is a secret as to what lies behind those gates!! The animals are super healthy and happy. I was amazed by how super.... clean this place is. There is much attention to detail💞Oh wait.... I saved the best for last... the safari!! Can I say up close and personal! Absolutely a must see!Aaron & Toni petersCambridge, New York
It should say that they close at 3:30 since they don’t allow anyone in after that time, even though the time is from 10:00-5:00. Driving for almost an hour hoping to have at least an hour and 15 to walk and see some of the exhibits, Just to be told they won’t allow anyone in after 3:30! Having to drive back an hour with two very disappointed, crying kids is not ideal.
Gotta give it 5 stars.. we returned here after 6 + years.. we found it is still family run well maintained with ever present on-site management.. got a ?.. you can talk to the owner himself! Thoroughly enjoyable. CASH ONLY which includes the gift shops , hot food.. plus one can buy feed onsite for the animals! A new gator exhibit w/train ride. . Dont fawn over the wolves.. or the enclosure size.. FACT:: they get to roam the park minus the other animal enclosures everyday after closing hours. . these animals are zoo born / raised & NOT removed from the wild.. most are quite tame.. EVEN the wolves! If any of the wide variety of animals does appear stressed.. YOU are likely causing that stress, so knock it off! Allow 3-4 hrs.. go for the combo ticket ! ! a bit longer on busy weekends..but worth it.. a personal thanks to the owner for the extended personal and candid off the cuff conversation in the gift shop this afternoon ..it was enlightening.. much appreciated ... & so the happy duck quacks about it!
My one star review is for animal cruelty. The animals can’t speak for themselves, so I will be their voice. Too many of the cages are too small and empty, with no stimulus; perhaps that is why the giraffe was voraciously licking the wall of a building. Some of the enclosures and cages that were unacceptable were: the monkey cages, giraffe enclosure, which was not only too small, but had nothing in it, but dirt, the kangaroo pen and the wolves, who were in a tiny pen, one was locked in a small hutch and the other one walked in circles. It seems like there is plenty of land to expand the park, so I am not sure why this is happening. I am also perplexed why the owners and visitors find this acceptable.
Me and my family were there on Sunday we had a very good time addition to the parakeets was awesome my wife enjoyed it very much the only thing I would suggest is that you have two people working in there because as we were walking by after visiting another exhibit a woman came out with a backpack and a bird flew off her backpack up into the Pine trees so if you had someone working in the entrance to someone working at the exit make it out make sure know birds get out. The other thing and I saw I just want to ask you about I saw that one of the zebras had a bad eye Is it ok.
This is 2-3 hrs tour with animas like small bears, dears, camels, giraffe, pigs, wolfs, zebra, monkeys, porkupine, parrots, antalops, ostriches, bulls , tortoises, goats etc. Safari tour also included in ticket. We actually expected to see lions, tigers etc but they don’t have it.If you want real safari rides with your own vehicles probably this not the place. Uploaded few pictures.Overall it’s good for small kids.
I went with my family including my 3 year old grandson needless to say and this was worse experience of a zoo we have all experienced.animals had ribs showing 100 degree weather no food or water unlivabel conditions. Close them down I called the police and Peta and all the police say was they have been around for ever. Shall I say how many animals so many animals they list were not there and no reason was given.please help the animals in trying
If your looking to see animals you dont see everywhere you wont see them here. They have lots of deer lamas camels pigs views and the like. A couple if monkeys but they claim they have an African safari ride...... Not so. Dont waste your money go to The wild in chitenango they had lots more to see up close. Lots of large cats that were truly African wildlife. Animal land is ok for small kids who wont know the difference.
Great place to take your kids! Lots of different animal to see and a safari ride. There are no tigers, lions or any animals like that though. They have bears, monkeys, wolfs, lots of different species of deer, meercats, large tortoises, giraffes, zebras, goats, kangaroos, different species of cattle, ostrichs, and lots of others. It is not as large as catskill game farm was and does not take all day to walk through it. They also have a bird room with hundreds of parakeets you can walk through. You can feed most of the animals through gumball machines mounted in front of the various cages. Id recommend bringing lots of quarters. The food is expensive as are drinks.
This place is ok. Very old school, worn down, eclectic, like much of the tourist attractions in the Adirondacks. Theres a variety of animals but they are behind multiple sets of fencing, little to no interaction. The petting zoo is just a few deer in a large wooded area. I kind of expected more.
In the wild, giraffes spend about 16-20 hours a day walking - they’re not getting anything remotely close to that here, nor are any of the other wild animals. Animals should not be living like this. It isn’t fair to them.. imagine being in a jail cell with no comfort for the rest of your life.PLEASE reconsider coming here for your entertainment.
The Safari ride and the train ride are not worth going on, the Safari ride was so crowded, they put so many people on that you couldnt even turn around to see the animals, and the train ride to see the alligators and the emus was too hurried , you had to hurry up and feed them get across the road to feed the emus, they said it was like a 20 to a 30 minute tour, but most of the time was the person explaining how to feed them we had to hurry out because the next train was coming, unsatisfied with both, walking around and seeing the animals was great.
I am feeling both totally shocked, and also not surprised by the 5 star reviews of this place. Just reaffirms the completely self-absorbed lifestyles that people lead and the lack of respect for the environment and animals too many possess. What a depressing place for animals to live! Concrete, small enclosures for the animals, and gum ball machines filled with sugary cereal to feed them. The prairie dogs looks extremely UNHEALTHY and even sick. The western town was totally pointless and dirty.I am so saddened that this place makes tons of money (and unfortunately some of mine) and can continue to profit on the incomprehensible and unacceptable living conditions for these animals. So go there like a good American and stuff your face with hotdogs and Mountian Dew and let your kids scream in the animals faces. I for one, will never ever return.
Love this place,we,ve been coming for years, every summer.Very clean, lots of shade, good snack bar,had lunch and was able to eat in a screened eating area.My Grandson loves it there.Feeding the alligators was a fun New attraction this year as well as the train ride and feeding the Emus😁
Amazing Zoo, Very Clean, you get to feed the beautiful animals, love how big it is to walk through, so much better than the bronx zoo where everything is confusing, my kids loved feeding the monkeys and seeing the birds and all the beautiful animals, will definitely recommend this place to family and friends ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Horrible. Went their with my two kids and my nephew. The wolfs ran circles for hours in a tiny chainlinked fence. The two bears and monkeys all in tiny enclosures on concrete with not even some much as a fake plant for them. The monkeys have a dog house for protection. The snake, turtles and hedge hog along with the fentic fox all have enclosures like a pet store. I was very sadded by they way these animals are living. The bears paced along their tiny concrete home the entire time as well. I will never go back and I wish I got give it negtive.

2021-08-22We stopped here on our last day of vacation and they did not disappoint! The animals were all friendly, came right up to your windows. Very well maintained. Plus the animals are in a such a great natural environment you can tell they are happy!

2021-08-14Me and my two friends went to Adirondack Animal Land and had a great time. I wasnt sure of what to expect. If you buy the animal food cups, when the animals approach, hold on with both hands! My friend dropped it and got covered with the food. Lots of Camels, ostriches, llama, alpacas, deer. Zebras cannot be fed ( not sure why), a couple of very friendly donkeys, some pigs. Just be patient because the animals walk in front of cars, takes time to drive through.

2021-08-22It was quite nice, a little pricy at $48 for a family of 4 in one vehicle with food for the animals extra. Beware the camels at the entrance, theyll gobble up everyones food before you even get through the gate. Camels, emus ostriches, guinea fowl, pigs, various deer alpacas and llamas in a short driving course. Very nice for the kids.

2021-08-02I only hope they open back up fully. It was fun, but felt pressured to keep moving so you didnt cause a traffic jam. Also a bit of advice from a first timer. Put your windows up and save some feed for later, the Camels are greedy and will steal the cup right from your hands.

2021-07-23Is a great place to visit with kids. They get to see various animals and also can feed them. Just awesome in Albany. Tickets are $12 and pls bring pet food from outside for savings. And they only accept cahs!

2022-06-02Prices have been raised this year (2022) and for $18 a person and $15 for children 1 years and older, Id rather go to a zoo. I really liked this place the last two years but definitely not worth $80 a car load this year. I understood the feed being overpriced as thats a good way to make money but the admission prices are outrageous! Ill take a trip to a zoo or petting zoo next time I want to bring my children to visit animals.

2021-07-18This place is incredible! My wife, son and I came here for a visit and it was a blast. Driving through the grounds and seeing all of the animals is quite the experience. This place is cash only to get in and at the gift shop. $12 per person is a great deal! Check this place out, it’s a lot of fun.

2021-07-18So much better now thats its a drive thru. Make sure you purchase plenty of food!!! I recommend atleast two cups per person. When it was a walk thru you didnt get the same interaction as you do now. Camels now put theyre heads in your car to eat. Emus that will freak you out when they eat but so cool. All the animals eat right from your car window. And theres so many animals to feed, and the little dear are adorable!!! Dont save this til the end of your trip because i guarantee you will want to go a second time! And the pandemic hit this business hard, so please help support them !
