December 4th I ordered a left handed mandolin. They called me in mid December and said although they said they had my mandolin it turned out they were out of stock. The young guy I talked with (didnt leave a name) said if I wanted the instrument I could wait until February when they would have it back in stock. That wasnt true either. Its just about March with no results. I called and emailed them to cancel my order but I havent seen anything or heard anything from them. Anyone reading this please do not waste your time on this lousy place. They never even wanted to talk to me. Totally UNPROFESSIONAL!!!
The folks at Adirondack Guitar provide a special service for those who play left handed. They offer stellar service at very fair prices. My bass was shipped cross country, and arrived quickly in flawless condition. My expectations were far exceeded and I highly recommend them.
The best place to purchase a guitar and/or accessories. I have shopped the whole Northeast and found heaven when I found John and Paul at Adirondack Guitar. Their prices are the best and their knowledge is second to none. Most importantly they treat you like family every time. Thank you guys for everything...
After a good conversation with the staff I felt more at ease. I believe the long wait of my msndolin is due to the manufacturer and not really the dealers fault. They do a very diligent job in satisfying orders. I will continue to shop with them. They do try hard even through covid and all its obstacles.
Adirondack Guitar is number one all the way in every way. John and Paul are super awesome guys that will help you with anything from the largest of issues to the tiniest. They even have expert advice that they share with you free of charge. I love this place. Everything is more than fairly priced, better than anywhere else that I have been to, and Ive been to a lot. They treat you like theyve known you forever with the utmost politeness and respect even if it is just to share a laugh or two with you...
Purchased a used instrument from their website, guitar arrived with a body separation and non functioning electronics. Item was not as described and they would not accept a return even when I offered to pay return shipping. I paid for a used guitar not a damaged guitar. Covid is a bad cop out for sending me a damaged instrument and refusing to take it back.
Buyer beware: I found Adirondack Guitars because they appear to stock a large number of lefty instruments.I called last Friday and confirmed on the phone that they had a particular bass in stock. The salesman assured me it was there and would likely ship on Monday. They would send tracking after it shipped. Wednesday I still haven’t received anything so around noon I emailed them. I received a reply telling me that the bass was a b-stock instrument and they could give me a discount. I answered the email asking for a couple pictures and description of why it was blemished. The reply they sent back was a surprise. They didn’t actually have the guitar it was still at the manufacturer.A short phone conversation with Paul assured me that’s how they do business and tried to make it sound like it was my fault.Remember, I reached out to them. How long were they going to wait to tell me they didn’t actually have what I paid for?And for those of you wondering, the manufacturer, Gold Tone, was happy to undercut their dealer and sell direct to me for a cheaper price. No wonder these little shops can’t stay in business, poor unethical business practices, lying to customers, and being undercut by vendors.
I stopped yesterday for strings, a strap, and picks and was elated with my experience. The bald fella with glasses helped me and was very knowledgeable about their stock, offered demos of everything I asked about, and recommended a set of strings that I’m thrilled with (D’Addario NYXL 11’s). He was very friendly too and made me feel welcome, something I’m not super used to in guitar shops. I tend to talk a lot when I’m nervous, and he didn’t make me feel like an annoyance for asking questions as the other local guitar shop guy did. He even showed me where they take the pictures for their very charming Reverb page. The other guy there was also really knowledgeable and friendly, but he was very busy unpacking a shipment and we didn’t get to interact as much. I can’t wait till I need new strings so I can go back. You can’t go wrong with a $50 base price on a full setup, either, so I’ll be back soon! This is the best guitar shop in the region... Parkway is cool, massive stock, but you won’t feel like your business is as valued there, especially if you’re not coming in with a fat wad of cash. North Country Guitar really should take notes from these guys in every area of their business model. I’ll say it again- ADK Guitar is the best in the region. Ever changing, decently sized selection of very reasonably priced guitars, pedals, and other guitar accoutrements. They have something for every level of player and if they don’t have it, they can get it. You will feel comfortable here and be led to a purchasing decision that makes sense for your needs. This is how a small business should be run- with care, class, comfort, and kindness. If you’re in Glens Falls and need something guitar related, do yourself a favor and skip the shop in town... head east to Hudson Falls and stop by Adirondack Guitar. You’ll be happy you did.
I have been going to Adirondack Guitar for just over a year. John, Paul, and Mike are always great. Extremely fair, bordering on generous with trade in and used equipment I have sold. They have a great layaway policy, and can order just about anything. The store may be small compared to the big box music stores, but the prices are on par, and customer service far exceeds that from tge big stores. You are doing yourself a disservice by not stopping by there
John and the guys are great. Have always helped me out whether its little tricks, or pricing, or just all around taking the time out to make sure youre best taken care of. Very knowledgeable group. Have bought 4 guitars and 2 amps from there and will continue to do the same. You guys rock.
I purchased a beautiful guitar on line from this company that was advertised and listed for sale as a 2009/2010 American Standard Stratocaster. When it arrived, it was flawless, not a scratch on it, my first electric guitar. I could not believe my luck at buying a flawless 6 year old American Strat for $740. I played it for 3 years, but it just didn’t sound right. I took it to my local luthier, and when he took the pickguard off, discovered that all of the electronics, the pots, switch, and pickups were the cheapest grade of Chinese parts. As he looked closer, the bridge was not Fender. I contacted the Fender Corporation and the Fender rep told me that the serial number on the neck was bogus. On his request, I sent photos of the neck, body, bridge, and electronics. After examination of the photos, the Fender representative advised me verbally and in writing that the guitar and all components are all fake, and “to anyone in the guitar business, this is obviously not a real Fender and should not have been advertised as such.”Despite numerous phone calls, the owner has not returned my calls or communicated with me. The “manager” Paul says that he/the company “cannot” do anything about it, and referred me back to Reverb, the on line intermediary in the sale (a music version of eBay). After I pointed out that advertising and selling a counterfeit product Is a violation of criminal law, and that Reverb had nothing to do with handling or sending the guitar the company sent an email cutting off my contact with the company. Based on the condition of the guitar when I received it, I strongly suspect that the counterfeit guitar that I purchased was a new guitar right off the boat from China, and suspect that this business is a criminal enterprise. Unfortunately, because I live on the West Coast it is too difficult and costly to pursue a legal judgement or to ask the police and/or district attorney to become involved.Buyer beware!
This place was great. I was interested in getting a lefty LTD EC-1000, so I called in to order. John answered the phone and was extremely helpful in getting me set up. I had ordered a generic hardcase with this guitar, but right before the guitar shipped John informed me that they had upgraded me to an ESP hardcase for free! They shipped the guitar fast. It was very well packed. The box and guitar were in flawless condition when they got here. This place is a godsend for lefties. Thank you John and Adirondack Guitars for the awesome service and killer guitar.
After making a purchase on the website for an item that showed in stock I heard nothing for almost two weeks. When I sent a follow up email asking for an update all I received was a receipt for the refund. No explanation for what happened or a response to my question. Im glad I received a refund, but it should not have taken two weeks and I should not have had to initiate the process. If the item was not in stock I should have been notified and refunded within a day or two. Instead Im sure they would have been more than happy to keep my money if I would not have contacted them. Maybe they are better in person, but I would stay away from ordering onlineFollow Up Response - I received no emails listing alternate options and I never emailed directly asking for a refund. I just asked for a status update which resulted in the refund with no explanation or details. Not being argumentative, but want to accurately depict what happened.
Awesome deals!!!! One of the greatest places for left handed guitar and basses. Bought a nice Atomic Pink Daisy Rock bass and also a stiletto 8-string bass for use in the Rialda and the PissAntics punk rock band. I personally went there. Beautiful ride up and back. Personnel is great and helpful. Definitely recommend them for guitars.
These guys are very honest, and their prices are unbeatable. I go to the store quite frequently, recently ordered a $1700 G&L custom Bass from them.Best place to go for left handers hands down!! (no pun intended) I happen to be left handed and dont go to anyother place then these guys.Very helpful staff and knowledge, you can tell they share a strong passion for music!!
Sucks i asked them days ago about a guitar. they still havent replied. totally ignoring me with this give me money first then ill answer your question about it and find you the one you want. doesnt do their job and just find you the guitar you are looking for. wont be back. i can find a vendor who has what i want. it takes no time at all to look at the guitar and go its that one.
What can I say, the people, the merchandise, ya just cant get any better... whether you talk to John or Paul you wont find anyone more knowledgeable about guitars and none more willing to help and/or answer any questions you may have. And to add one more note, you will not find any other in the business that is more honest.
Well stocked, specializing with left handed guitars if theres something youre looking for they will do their best to get it for you how you would like it, they work with you for those who are on budgets with layaway, or klarna credit ,they can fix your equipment for a local shop they truly are awesome, shop local its so worth it!
The prices were so low, I honestly thought it was fake. Prices and selection, ESPECIALLY for left-handed people like myself, were literally unbeatable. Tore up all of the other mainstream sites and stores without breaking a sweat.A small store with crazy low prices. You can have your cake and eat it, too. Cant ask for anything more.Check them out. You will NOT be disappointed.

2022-02-14Weird experience with them. I ask to put a guitar on hold while Im making payments on another, then I get a change of heart, I want a different guitar. While Im waiting for news, they ignore me till I leave a bad review, then up the price on the guitar I wanted. This shop is bad news. Never again!

2022-07-05I sympathize with the guy that received warped neck Vintage Chinese knockoff Les Paul. I tried to buy a Burny Les Paul from a guy in Japan through Reverb recently and he was so honest that he messaged me that he checked the neck on the guitar and discovered that it was almost straight, but has no room to adjust with the truss rod, that it was tightened all the way, so I can not sell it to you. That blew me away. The Japanese are much more honorable and ethical than their American counterparts.

2022-06-26I bought a 2008 Vintage V100 Icon Les Paul-type guitar from this joint. Cost me $457 total. Bought it through Reverb. Since it was only one of 6 guitars I bought during a 3-week period, I didnt have/take time to thoroughly check it out after I unboxed it. I figured that since the manager claimed that the neck was straight and there was room for adjustment with the truss rod, I took his word for it. If need be, I can and will post his writing that through Reverb-Messaging, especially if he contradicts me on this with one of his EXCUSES he seems to be very adept at, judging by all of theONE-STAR REVIEWS here, and his having an excuse for each and every single Naysayer that is unhappy with the joint.So...the guitar has a Fatal and Permanent neck warp, with the Truss-rod having ZERO room to adjust. Maxed out, and looks like it has been that way for quite some time.ADK swears that the neck was straight and truss-rod was good when it left the store. IMPOSSIBLE!Necks dont warp overnight. So, it looks like I have a $457 wall-hangar. Will look nice on my wall, at least. Too heavy for a canoe-paddle.

2022-06-30My first review is under my name, Michael Bell. This review has to be under my stage-name, Texas Mike Bell, because you can not reply to a rebuttal with the same mailbox with the original review.I am going to address two statements that the manager made in his rebuttal to my one-star review from a few days ago.1. I have never attempted, through Reverb, to return this guitar. I tried communicating directly to the store, through Reverb-Messaging.So, that is one of the untrue claims made in said rebuttal. The only thing I asked Reverb to get involved with was when the guitar was stuck in 3 different UPS facilities for 6 days in New York. Reverb talked me into giving it a little more time.2. When it finally arrived, and when I finally found time 12 days later to thoroughly inspect the guitar, I attempted to adjust the truss-rod to address the very slight down-bow of the neck/fingerboard. The truss-rod was already maxed-out. It would not turn. A permanent slight bow.Through Reverb-Messaging from the store, and in the Ad itself, I had been assured that the neck was straight and that the Truss-rod was good, so that is why I did not immediately check the neck and Truss-rod when it came in. I had taken the mans word.It is IMPOSSIBLE that the Truss-rod had any play remaining in it when it left the shop. Even if it was kept in a 100-degree sweltering hot room with UPS for 3 days the truss-rod would not have moved itself. The only good this guitar has left in it, is that it will be a good slide-guitar, which requires higher action, anyway, so a little neck-bow wont make any difference.I am STUCK with it. The very FINAL time I do business with ANY type of business in the state of NY. I have found throughout the years that business owners and managers in New York are extremely difficult to get concessions out of, even with a very obvious thing like an already maxed-out Truss-rod on a guitar. My final word to the owner or manager, whoever this guy is, is this: If you can live with it, I can live without it.

2021-04-20I recently brought in a new Fender American Pro Jazz Bass for a pickup swap out (V-mods to Dimarzio Model Js). John spent some time with me as I explained they had to be a certain height and wired in a specific way. They did an excellent job, it came out perfect! Good turn around time. Will definitely go back for luthier services. Thanks Guys!
