I wish I could leave less than 1 star. The service is basically none. And the person in charge of the front desk is not professional, has cero idea in the “costumer service” area.We ask for a blanket because in the room we had sheets only. And they said 15 min and never came. The rooms were never Fixed in the time we were there and also almost everything is broken or damage. And as you can see in one of the pictures have rats.So please get another hotel for your time in NYC
The most disgusting place we have ever stayed in. First checked in at the sister hotel which only exterior sign said OYO, when we booked, the hotel was called JFK Airport Hotel, but maps said this was the location. We went and checked in, the room was cramped and smelly. The walls were written on (like graffiti) and the bedspread was filthy and stained. Upon walking into the bathroom the shower basin was black from filth. Went back down to see if we could move rooms in which there was no one at the front desk but a sign saying go next door for assistance. We walk next door and end up checking into a room there, again the walls were stained, written on, and very thin (could hear people talking/moving all night) sheets dirty, there was broken tile in the bathroom, overall absolutely disgusting. A woman we met in the lobby had checked in earlier and was on her way back in after leaving to buy cleaning supplies. The staff was nice enough, but if you have any sense, DO NOT STAY HERE! Also the payment charge is listed as a completely different hotel, very off.
Its pretty bad in terms of size of room, cleanliness, and facility. Its ok to be bad, but its not ok to charge $200+ a night and be this bad. Definitely not come back. Its also part of OYO, which is an Indian brand and does not have a good reputation in terms of quality. If you look at 5-star reviews, it seems lots of them are from Indian accounts with limited review history
Needed a cheap, quick, accessible hotel for a few days. Kept my expectations low, knowing what some cheap NYC hotels can be like. I was satisfied with the stay and consider it very adequate, but suggest it only for seasoned travelers on a budget who dont expect full-service amenities and first class conditions, otherwise you will be disappointed. With that said, it served my basic needs. It is in a vaguely industrial street, about three short blocks from the mass transit hub (subways, LIRR, airport shuttle) and any retail needs (restaurants are mostly take-out and fast food; limited other retail services). There are often pan handlers, or street entrepreneurial types, but there is usually a local police car at this busy hub intersection. There are more options particularly closer to various municipal buildings and services in a one mile radius, but you would need to do your research. Not an attractive area, but seasoned travelers should be unfazed.
To spend one night if youre single is ok maybe but for familys, i dont recommend this place, not a safe place during night. The rooms ,lobby and even the hallway smells really bad, pillow cases was dirty and even the curtains was broken not able to close or open and dirty. You heard everything from outside. If you have an emergemcy like we had to spend 1 night maybe is ok but other than that i wouldnt stay in this place.
Positive: Staff was courteous. Negative: Dead roaches in room Poor lighting in room Horrible view Smell of illegal drugs in the hallway and below outside window Terrible neighborhood Advertised as 3.5 star hotel and was not No vending machines was sent next door to get water and stale snac
Positive: Nicest thing about this hotel was that they have another hotel right next to them they also own, go there instead, and the rooms were clean. After an attempted break with my smashed in door they transferred me to their other hotel with solid door. Negative: Rooms prone to break ins as the doors have been kicked or smashed in with the doors bent in so the locks could be popped open. Someone tried breaking into my room while I was there, unless the deadbolt is locked anyone can get access to the room.
Positive: Not a single thing I travel for work and stay in hotels ALOT and this is one of the worse places I have ever stayed. Negative: The TV was shattered the a/c didnt work the bath tub had stuff coming up through the drain thr while place smelled like weed and people played loud music and yelled ALL NIGHT LONG
Very bad experience with this Hotel. I will never suggest anyone to book this hotel anytime in their life. The staffs were piece of sit and unprofessional with rude behavior. We booked 3 rooms in this hotel 20 days ago, but when we reached to the hotel, they said your room is confirmed but we don’t have any rooms available tonight. Fu…..k this hotel 😡😡😡😡and I am going to report this with the concern people.
Place was disgusting, after 30 minutes of being there the room was ice cold, phone was not connected, dirty underwear in the bathroom along with hair on the towels. The blankets had cigarette burns and the tub was dirty. She tried showing me other rooms and all 3 were equally dirty with gum, cigarette buds, plus the rooms smelled like smoke (though they have non smoking policy). DO NOT STAY HERE!!!
Positive: N/A Negative: When I got there, I had to argue with the receptionist to get a room. She sent me to 2 rooms that werent cleaned, then sent me to another room that had two beds. There were damages all around the bathroom before I go there. Im never going back there.
PLEASE!!!!! Do NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL. ME AND A FRIEND STAYED THE NIGHT TWO NIGHTS AGO AND IT WAS TERRIBLE. WE GOT A ROOM WITH THE SHEETS STAINED AS WELL AS THE BLANKET. WE GOT PUT IN ANOTHER ROOM AND NOT ONLY WERE THE SHEETS DIRTY BUT THE NIGHT LAMPS WERE MISSING AND WE HAD TO CHARGE OUR PHONE ACROSS THE ROOM SINCE TO OUTLET WASNT WORKING. We had to use our own sheet to cover the bed and pillows because, it just felt uncomfortable to sleep on a dirty bed.
Horrible hotel, you arrive with a reservation (done thru their website) and when you arrive after a long flight, they tell you that all the rooms are sold out. So they send you next door to Letap inn which has the same owner. You go there and its so DIRTY!!! Please see pictures and check for yourself. They say online “free breakfast” when we arrived they say there is no breakfast for 2 years already. Walls dirty, tv does not work and you call them and tell you that you have to wait till the morning. I would never return to this hotel (airport plaza hotel and Letap inn)
Had to stay here because Delta canceled my flight and I picked the first place I saw available on booking.com but would not recommend this place to anyone. I should have looked at the reviews before booking, folks are not exaggerating when they say the place reeks of cigarette and weed smoke. The head board was torn and the deadbolt was broken. Half the lights in the room wouldn’t turn on. Avoid at all costs.
Walked in to check-in and immediately booked a hotel else where. This is probably the worst hotel I’ve come across. While being Active duty military and visiting NY for Easter Weekend. The smell of marijuana in the lobby and activity taking both outside and in the hotel was beyond disturbing. Don’t expect to get your money back either! Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.
Horrible service! Bedbug on matress stain on matress pad! Hair in door handles! Eyelashes behind the night stand! Roaches trash mold in the bathroom dust and let not even talk about the smell! I DONT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL SPECIALLY IF YOUHAVE YOUR KIDS! NASTY PLACE
Positive: Nothing at all Negative: They gave me smaller bed than requested,no chair in the room, no shower cap, they promise break fast in the website description and did not provide anything, not even coffee maker in the room and lobby. Refrigerator door would not close and damage my food.
Positive: Basically nothing..wanted to leave 5 minutes after we arrived. Negative: Well the reception was uninviting and sad looking. The breakfast table was dirty and would not trust anything that was put out plus the blood dripping down the room door said a lot.. sorry not into that sort of thing at all.. we left without even staying
Positive: Proximity to subway and airport line Room was clean and so were linen Negative: Lobby was not clean Room window did not have curtain and early morning light disturbed sleep Some of the staff behaviour was not good. They don¿t have working restroom in lobby level so if you check out and want to use it. Out of luck Room was sma
Stayed at this hotel for two nights. It is two star property in terms of facilities.Good : close to subway that connects jfk to downtown to great on accessibility. Clean room, bathroom and fresh towels.Bad : small room size. Door locks from inside did not work for me. Room window did not have curtain. Staff behaviours can be better. Did not have working restroom, so if you checked out and want to use toilet you may be out of luck. Picture added is of reception.
Horrible!!! Once we arrived at the hotel we were told parking was full we had to park in the street which we did. In the morning we woke up to our window busted out of our car window. The rags had stains and the hotel smelled like Victoria secret and weed !!!! never again
At first looking at the reviews, I thought people where being dramatic. Upon staying not even the first night but booked for two due to work (Both myself and daughter) We decided to bring my grandson and the sitter. This hotel is horrible. I knew it was going to be issues at the very beginning. First the front desk lady did not want to document the methods of payment on my receipt. Then the phone in the room did not work. And she kept telling me it did and when i told her it didn’t. She said why don’t you just use your cellphone. I told her the reason because I have an infant child and I want to have two moods of communication with the sitter. The sink was clogged. The toilet was running. It looked like the toilet had just been used because it looked as if it had fecal matter still there. The whole hotel smelled of marijuana… I mean the whole hotel which is utterly ridiculous. I regret even booking this room but I was scheduled to do shifts at the local rehabilitation center and I live out of town. I will NOT be staying another night.
Has small roaches (teenagers), in bathroom and on tables. Lobby not inviting. Rated 3.5 stars on Orbitz usually much better than this. Stayed there 2 nights. Bed comfortable room and bathroom generally clean. Fixtures very sticky residue. Friend also stayed and says he saw working girls...
The young lady at the front desk wasnt very welcoming but perhaps she was just very tired as it was letter in the night. People played loud music in their rooms but turned it off by 10 or 11pm which was nice. No one bothered me about having a puppy with me which was why I picked this place. The decor wasnt my taste but it didnt much matter. Comfy bed and pillows. Morning staff kindly ordered me a taxi. At night I couldnt hear any other pets making sounds.
Hygien is terrible. Stain everywhere. Even hair on towels. A used towel not picked by cleaner . Noise very bad n deep nights . Slamming doors . Children running. Women shouting . 2nd night is worst experience for ever. But it’s cheap. Indian Reception guy is nice . Print my COVID report free.
Do not book here. Absolute worst hotel ever. The pictures they have online do not match in real person. Rooms are smelly, lights dont work and sheets/covers have multiple stains on them. I needed somewhere to stay overnight when my flight got cancelled and chose this as it was the lowest price. I regret not paying for something nicer because it was the most uncomfortable stay Ive experienced. I didnt even risk skin contact with the sheets and slept fully clothed head to toe upright. The only reason I did not book another hotel was because it was well after midnight. For the sake of your own peace of mind, even if its just for a few hours stay somewhere else. Also after looking through the reviews, many of them are clustered and seem to be a way to inflate the ratings on Google.
Positive: Accessible from JFK AirTrain Jamaica stop. Negative: AirTrain Plaza Hotel is actually AirPort Plaza/ OYO on street level. Confusing. All night outbursts of profanity, yelling & violence next door made for a scary and sleepless night. Two calls to Reception, incl. requesting a room change did not help.
Very nasty(first when I use to go here like 2 years bk it was nice an clean ,,(now all the wall hav holes da bed sheets look nasty an even da floor look nasty plz don’t go unless it’s a one nite stand with a Radom girl to mash an done(beware of bookin rooms too it’s non refundable
Positive: I like the cleanliness of the rooms. And the nice decors. Negative: I absolutely do not like the fact that this hotel allows people that do drugs in here. All night people are arguing, slamming doors and yelling at each other. My children and i became very uncomfortable. I do not want to be in the same hotel with them.
Go somewhere else. The place was horrible.Smelled like an ash tray. The elevator looked like it had dried spit or something else all over it..I usually do not write reviews but had to with this hotel .Dirty towels were on the floor at the elevator entrance on level 4.We stayed here cause so many others were totally booked.Would have kept on looking.
THE REVIEWS DONT LIE. TERRIBLE HOTEL.. I DISLIKE EVERYTHING.This is by far the most horrible hotel my wife and I have ever stayed in. They have the worst customer service ever.My wife wanted us to pack up and leave in the middle of the night an go find another hotel. We got the room for a good price of $102.58 for one night, but the room did not come with a microwave, no coffee pot , no refrigerator or even a phone.I was so tired, around 1:30 am, people were screaming in the lobby, I was not able to sleep.. I barricaded the door with a table and our suitcase.PLEASE STAY AWAY. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYBODY.
Cons-The lights in room 304 do not work. Only bathroom lights- bathtub poorly cleaned-cover sheets need to be updated they are old and worn-rough crowd outside the property and inside so be ready for a bit of uncomfortableness while checking in-wanted a room with one bed but got a room with double beds-next to a train so early morning wake up from the horns and noisePros-Staff was helpful and kind-needed a quick place to sleep and it did it’s job wasn’t the worst place I’ve ever been-good air conditioner-comfortable mattress- there’s a parking lot but it’s small and you have to be lucky to get a spot
PICTURES & GOOD REVIEWS ARE LIESI was going to leave a review when my wife and I returned from our honeymoon but the hotel requested feedback to their team. There has been no response for over a week so I will provide a formal review The worst hotel experience in our lives. -Stains on sheets and towels -Hair in bathtub and blankets -Grime all around shower -Rips in sheets and curtains -No microwave as promised in Expedia reservation -No room with complimentary snacks on the 3rd floor as promised in reservation Most egregious was upon arrival, the receptionist refused payment or to issue a receipt, stating Expedia had taken payment online (even though I selected pay at property). However, at 4:00 am he bangs on our door, demanding payment that instant because he made the mistake of not collecting it at check in. Again, if someone at the hotel had replied and tried to make things right, my review would have a slightly different tone.
This place deserves zero stars. The hotel was absolutely the most disgusting place I have ever encountered. From the moment you walk in you notice the lack of cleanliness, and this extends beyond the lobby. The elevator was wet and nasty. Loud music could be heard once we reached our floor from another guest room. We were already feeling uncomfortable but once we saw the room it solidified our decision to leave. It was disgusting to say the least, the pictures speak for themselves. Add to that a strong unpleasant smell of cheap perfume, cigarettes, and urine. Turns out they were known as “OYO Hotel” and have terrible reviews on google. Your reputation follows you despite the name change. Nice try.
I needed a place to stay last minute and booked through Chase Sapphire Rewards and they should be shamed of themselves for sending their customers here. It smells like marijuana, the room has stains on the walls and pubic hairs on the shower walls. There is a dog barking in the room next to mine. I called down to the desk to see if there were other rooms available and nobody picked up so I had to go down there and was rudely told there were no more rooms and that the people in that room were not there so there was nothing she could do. I have the heebeejeebees but have no choice but to stay and listen to this dog bark non stop. #sad
****RATING FOR THIS DUMP IS A ZERO****If you care anything about your well being, DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!! Not in a safe location. Poor customer service. Front desk staff are posted behind dirty plexiglass window. They make copies of your drivers license and credit card without explanation. We received one key for the room. We barricaded ourselves in the room for our safety. Room was dirty no, no phone, no refrigerator. Constant people yelling, screaming and door slams until 4am ( when we called lyft to go to the airport). We did not sleep and we did not feel safe at all. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!
All my years staying at hotels I have never stayed at a hotel like this with completely DIRTY SHEETS! There were soo many stains all over the sheets brown, dark and yellow stains! It turned my stomach! I could not believe that a cleaning person would actually make up a bed with those dirty sheets!! And when I called the front desk he told me to come down get sheets. I had to pick up the new sheets from the front desk and a couple of the new sheets were still stained! Will NeVErstay here again!
This is the WORST place ever! Do not be fooled by these good reviews!!! This place is disgusting, dirty, sheets dirty and stained, feces in the toilet upon arrival! The lady at the front is HORRIBLE! She would literally pick the phone up and hang up to avoid taking any calls. I would put them in the negative if at all possible! Photos online are completely photoshopped!
Worst Hotel Ive EVER Stayed At! A complete disaster! Wasnt rated properly at all! If you have a reservation here...trust me cancel it. Scary area, filthy room with cigarette butts, dirty towels, sheets and broken remotes. Really upsetting. Complete nightmare. I GOT RIPPED OFF. Hotel wasnt even identifiable (signage wise) and I even heard gunshots at night. WOW
Booked a room late at night when a flight got cancelled, only to arrive and find out they didnt have a room for me. I requested a refund through the booking site and the hotel REFUSED the refund for a room I NEVER USED. I ended up spending the night in the airport terminal. Also, like others said, the place is super sketch and looks nothing like the photos. Awful experience.
When it says 24 hr it’s available to check in, that’s a lie it’s 3 pm and check out is at 11. It’s very close to the train station so literally u can walk 2 min and it’s right there. That’s the only thing that’s good about it. It’s very loud and annoying random people will knock on the door. The place it’s nasty like mold and broken nails near the bed it’s not well maintained. Really gross. Ice machine not working
They hotel is falsely advertised. It still uses the Howard Johnson billing, so if they charge your card, booking. Com will deny a refund. No one at the front desk knows anything, and will not return your call. They only“ACcept” cash, so your credit card information is in the wind. The establishment is dirty, full of shady characters, they hold your luggage for you in the maintenance closet.
Absolutely filthy place, the towels smelled and were stained, the bed was stained, the curtains had blood on them, it was the grossest place Ive EVER stayed in. We went to the front desk and asked for cleaner towels and we got worse more disgusting ones. Itll be cleaner sleeping on the sidewalk than staying at that trashcan place.
Absolutely disgusting hotel. Needed a place close to the airport for the night. Booked it thru my AA website. Lobby was nasty. It had trash over flowing and all over. Room had spiders, the sheets had holes and stains and the bathroom was even worse. I have stayed in some bad places but this one tops that list. Do not stay here.
Made a reservation through Google which connected me to a shady website that did not seem real but I thought maybe the hotel uses a third party for making reservations. Then the name of the hotel in the confirmation email was OYO Hotel, there were spelling mistakes in the email, and nothing under cancellation policy. I googled that to see reviews that were horrible for OYO Hotel and google said the business was closed. I cancelled my reservation after that, and the site said that my cancellation was pending approval. They rejected the cancellation at 3 am the day after I was supposed to check in. Do not book here.
Booked a room via Hotwire to this hotel. Called to confirm my room to make sure it was booked (They confirmed). When I arrive late at night to check in there is no one at the front desk and they tell me there is no room available. Tried to get a refund through hotwire and no one from hotel staff can confirm if I stayed at the hotel or not. Worst experience ever
Please save your money... this hotel does not serve breakfast nor does it have a fitness center. It’s not clean in the bathrooms or behind the bedWe asked for room service to please “do not disturb” we even put a sign and they still came in!Only good thing is the trains and buses is only a 5 minute walk and it’s not hard to find weed if you need it TRUST ME
Do not book here the front guy desk claims they didn’t charge my card and I tell Expedia that so they ask for me to get his name however he wont give out his first name so the can verify and issue my refund. Why would anyone want to stay somewhere that the front desk can’t even tell you who you’re speaking with
From the start, the building is an OYO hotel and not as shown in the photo. We booked online and when we arrived they didn’t accept visa, only cash. Fortunately, I had $80 for the one night we booked. However, she (front desk lady) refused to give us a receipt for payment. Since she scanned my credit card, and I thought I had paid online, I definitely wanted a receipt for the cash payment. She refused to give me a receipt. After a short argument, she tried to take back the room key and kick us out. She said “I’ll give you your money back and you can leave”. Yikes! As it was 10:00 pm, we just arrived from Mexico (international flight), we were tired and didn’t want to look for a hotel. All we wanted was proof of payment, because after reading the reviews, I think she just pocketed the money and would charge us later. And we would have no proof! Anyways, we decided just to accept our loss and went to our room to sleep. The room was fine to us... but we just spent 4 months in Mexico so our standards are not that high. Actually, Mexico hotels/Airbnb’s, etc were much nicer.Oh... the whole place smells like weed. That’s how I knew we were in the right hotel. The reviews said it smelled like weed. So when we walked into the hotel, and BAM, weed... we knew we were in the right place. AHHH and the room had dirty floor with tabaco!
This place was disgusting. Has no parking, no continental breakfast and no fitness room. This place has absolutely TERRIBLE customer service but from the corporation and the hotel itself. Sketchy place overall. Save yourself from the aggravation and from spending your money here.
The hotel facilities are very utilitarian, and the people at the front desk are defensive about the hotel’s inadequate services. The included breakfast does not start on time (it was 30 minutes late), and the food they serve is very basic. When I informed the front desk folks about this they denied it rather than apologizing and promising to fix it. This interaction was unpleasant and bizarre. The hotel is close to the airport, which is convenient, but it is not in an appealing part of town. There are very few places to eat, and some people may not feel safe walking in the neighborhood. I would recommend only if you’re looking for a place to sleep.
The cleanest part of this hotel was the lobby 😫 The room was cute, but it definitely looked like the cleaning job was completely rushed. There were shoe prints on the dirty bathroom floor...the box spring covers were filthy...the headboard was filthy...and ONE OF THE WASHCLOTHS WERE BROWN WITH CRUD 😭😭😭 Ne-ver a-gain!
The room was not tidy at all. The floor sticked to the bottom of our shoes when we walked. The light fixture covers were dirty so were the tables. Ever heard of sanitizing wipes? No where to work the A/C because the panel was sealed by wallpaper?! Garbage from previous guest still laying around. Curtains looked like they needed a deep cleaning. Literally kept to the bed the whole time. Also some air freshener would help too. Since this is so close to the airlines. I would assume it would be cleaner. Some people would just prefer to have a place before or after their flight. Not a disease ridden room. And if you can afford soap after the hotel you can afford to clean too.
Because the property is lying to the people once they arrive that machine is not working and trying to run business in cash causing inconvenience knowingly and on complaining they were very rude. The place smells like pot n weed and is very loud no rules nothing literally felt like a homeless shelter.Rooms are also very dark in tiny bulb and that is it. No breakfast or coffee either.
If I could give this property three and a half stars, that would be the most appropriate rating in my opinion. I could have given four stars because of the physical quality of the establishment. However, the woman at the front desk who checked us in, and was not wearing a name tag, was not cordial or welcoming at all. She didn’t say “May I help you?” or give any other greeting. I walked up to the counter and paused for a moment to see if she would greet me, and when I saw that she wasnt going to, I said “I have a reservation.” “Name?” she asked. I told her my name and she did something on the computer and said, “ID?” I handed her my driver license, she photocopied it, gave it back, and handed me the key cards with the room number written on the envelope, saying “Fourth floor.” Shes probably the general manager or the franchise owner. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was satisfactory. It wasnt easy a place to eat dinner, but we made out all right. The hotel is only a couple of blocks from the subway and a few bus lines, as well as the Jamaica station for the JFK AirTrain. I dont know if Id want to walk around the area alone late at night though, and I grew up in a pretty rough neighborhood!
Worst experience ever. The web page advertised parking lot but never explained it was limited to 15 spots, if youre lucky you will get one and if not, they will do anything about it. No, when got a reservation for 3 nights, the first night we got there the room they gave us was dirty (messy beds, no towels, dirty bathroom), they gave us a second one but the following night, once we were back from NYC our room havent been clean up and when I told the receptionist he said that he couldnt do anything because the housekeeper was gone so he gave me towels and a trash bag! The breakfast is the worst I ever had, only cereal, fruit that is about to go bad, milk, coffee and some bread. Overall experience was just terrible.
Please do not book this hotel. Remember I warned you. There are only 5 parking spaces for this hotel and they are located in a narrow alley between the two buildings. Airtran has a 8 1/2 x11 paper sign with the name of the hotel. Dont blink or youll miss it. I arrived on Saturday evening and had to park 3 blocks away from the hotel because of the limited parking and the club that is around the block. The entire building smelled like marijuana. We got a contact high from being in this hotel. Our room had a strong smell of marijuana the entire day. The front desk didnt do anything to help with the situation. Please do not stay here.
I AM ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED, DISAPPOINTED, AND FEEL DISRESPECTED BY THIS HOTEL! Beware do not stay here! The person at the front desk is very rude, and had a loud violent tone with me. Once I got my room I saw blood everywhere. The room had not been cleaned. It was crazy. Please stay away and do not waste your time here.
The reviews don’t lie. Just like one person said , i was told to check in to Letap even though my booking was for Airtrain plaza. The receptionist was very rude from the beginning when I checked in. I was given room that hadn’t been cleaned as yet and when i told the receptionist her attitude Escalated as if i were suppose to stay in a room that had food containers , wrappers , and cigarette ash all over the bathroom. I didn’t take pictures of this room. These are pics from the room i settled for. There was a strong cigarette odor, i wouldn’t stay here again.
Personal reminder to never stay here again. across tri-state, this hotel is one of the dirtiest. urine/mold/feet smell throughout multiple rooms. bathtubs not bleached/scrubbed. urine stains/hair/dirt in bathtubs. DIRTY bathrooms, unsanitized. no parking. tv missing channels poor wifi no breakfast no fitness center
Terrible experience, customer service NON-EXISTENT. My flight was canceled, I called and told somebody at the front desk that I would not be arriving until the last next day, I was told my reservation for the next day would stand. My debit card was charged a no show fee, even though they were informed. I called again, told my reservation was canceled and they could no longer help me and refused to refund my money. I recommend not staying here.
I booked it from booking but it seems has two names because I stayed in Letap inn. But anyway the room pictures are seem that one in booking.NOW my review: in my opinion it is NOT worth that amount of money. It is should be less than 100$. I filtered free parking in Booking but this hotel does not have free parking. You can park in the street which is so difficult to find spot. The hallway is not clean. The breakfast is ok. It is not quiet also, next room plays his awful music in early morning which I can hear it clearly. The pillows are small and not comfortable.
If I could post this with 0 stars, I would have.We were booked this hotel by an airline, after we missed a connecting flight, due to earlier delays. I contacted that airline to ensure they never book this hotel for a customer in the future, as it was a truly alarming experience that caused us to pack up and leave in the middle of the night. To summarize the experience:--- We could find no staff working at the hotel in the first 20 minutes after we arrived and therefore could not check in. There was no note indicating staff would be returning soon, no bell to ring, and no one answering the phone when we called.--- The hotel room was not at all clean, with the curtains spotted with stains, sticky residue on many of the fixtures, toothpaste splatters on the faucet and mirror, and dried nail polish on the bathroom counter top and in the tub. The sheets seemed clean, and we were so exhausted by that time (40 hours of traveling with almost no sleep), we decided to sleep and touch absolutely nothing else.--- While we were sleeping, someone attempted to enter our room around 2:00 am and were only stopped by the latch on the door. It is clear they were able to open the door, as light entered the room, despite it being dead bolted.--- After that, we packed up and went downstairs to check out. Again, there was no staff person there. We tried calling again - no answer - and walked around, knocking on all doors that indicated they were for the public or staff - bathrooms, mechanical rooms, janitorial closets, etc.. We waited/looked for someone for 30 minutes before I called the non-emergency police department number to determine what to do, since I needed my $100 refund and no one seemed to be working.--- While I was on the phone, several people came into the hotel and went immediately up the elevator. We noticed the card scanning device on the door was broken and the elevator did not require a key card. With no staff person at the desk, there was truly no security for the building.--- My sister ran to the hotel next door to ask if they knew any contact information for the hotel we were at. The person next door called the manager, who soon showed to check us out. He was the person who was missing before when we checked in. When we told him we came down to check out 50 minutes prior, he did not acknowledge an issue or apologize.--- While refunding my money, he made a copy of my credit card. When I asked him what it was for, he said, Dont worry about it. When I pressed him on the issue, he told me it was company policy, but could not articulate the policy, After the waiting/searching and back and forth during check out, we ended up finally leaving the building at 4:00 am.I have stayed at hotels and hostels all over the world and have never had an experience like this. I do not recommend staying here...ever.
First of all - this hotel doesnt exist anymore. You check into the Le Tap Inn which is next door. They are also falsely advertised as a Wyndgate hotel (a relationship that ended in 2018 which I discovered after further investigation). The main floor smelled like pot during check in. The rooms smelled like stale smoke and I smelled fresh smoke coming from the room next door in the morning. There were stains all over the bedding, which looked like it hadnt been changed prior to our visit. I reserved a queen room and was given two twin XLs. The staff was unwelcoming and unhelpful. They have old-school and unsafe carbon transfer practices for keeping your credit card on file.
You can tell they are trying to be as cheap as possible. Threadbare, stained sheets, no breakfast as stated. Bare, bare minimum in bedroom and bathroom. We stayed here because we were desperate after all flights got cancelled due to snow. Look elsewhere unless desperate.
Worst hotel I’ve ever been to in my life and will be the worst hotel I will ever go to. Roaches everywhere even in the beds, Dirty towels and rags, staff was very disrespectful. I would not recommend this place to anyone it’s more like a motel if a motel even this bad.
My exchange student was going home, Delta made him miss his connection flight to Germany from JFK. He arrived at 2 am and couldnt get a flight to Germany until 10pm that day. He was scared and alone and had not travelled alone before this trip. He also only had $25 on him, no credit card and no other ability to pay. I found this hotel online and called at 2 am. Kabeer answered the phone. He was extremely helpful, told me how my student could get there and assured me it was safe.He let me pay with my card. My student got there and told me the room was nice. He had breakfast and needed to print his new boarding pass. The printer wasnt working. He left the hotel without telling me. In the meant time his parents called me from Germany and wanted me to figure out how to get him cash so he could pay to print and get some food. I looked at all possibilities and finally texted the manger who had been so helpful. He immediately offered me to Venmo his daughter. He then called the hotel and told someone there to give my student the cash and let him print on the office printer. He also instructed them to let him stay in a room until 6 pmn and no extra charge. This man doesnt know me and was beyond helpful. I tried to Venmo extra as a tip and he refused to take that and also gave it to the student. This type of customer service is unrivaled. He single handedly put myself, the student and his parents across the ocean at ease. THANK YOU Kabeer!!! You are an example of charity and unconditional love for your fellow man.
The rooms were really disgusting sheet were really dirty the whole place was really filthyThey refused to give a receiptGot to the place they did found me on the systemThen their credit card machine was not work so they were only exempting cashWhen they give us the room they were filthy so they give us another rooms but still filthy even worseThe beds look good when you enter the room but when you lift up the sheets there’s were you find that the mattress look like they have been pick them up from the side of the street
SCAM WARNING, DOES NOT EXIST.The hotel at 139-09 Archer Avenue is an OYO Hotel (formerly Howard Johnson according to streetview). The imagery appears to have been photoshopped as no such signage exists. You will have a reservation, but with the OYO (and no breakfast as advertised).
Horrible to say the least! To start no remote for tv and no fitted sheets just a flat sheet on beds, none of the lights worked on the night stand and the drawer didnt stay closed, no garbage in room anywhere not even bathroom. We asked for extra blankets for our kids(ages5,7,9)the 1st time and was told it was a shift change to wait waited 15 min and went back down to be told we had to wait another 20 min and it was already 10pm we never got the blankets . The heat/ac didnt work either. The last straw was finding a cockroachc crawling on our clothes. Brought this all to managment and was told we were lying about it all. Wouldnt give us a refund! Dont waste your money here or chance bringing roaches back with you!!
IF I COULD GIVE ZERO I WOULD. 1-- THE AREA IN WHICH ITS LOCATED..LETS JUST SAY.. DONT GO OUT AT NIGHT ALONE. 2-- THE WOMAN AND MAN AT THE FRONT DESK..RUDE. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS AT ALL. 3-- THEY MAKE COPIES OF YOUR ID AND CREDIT CARD OLD SCHOOL STYLE AND THEY DONT EVEN ASK OR TELL U WHAT THEIR PROCEDURE IS BEFORE THEY DO IT. 4-- THE ENTIRE SMOKE FREE BUILDING AND MY FLOOR (4TH) SMELLED LIKE MARIJUANA, CIGARETTES AND OLD WET CARPET. 5--WHEN I GOT TO THE ROOM THE DOOR WAS ALREADY OPEN!! SMFH 6-- THEY DONT HAVE ANY QUEEN SIZED BEDS AS ADVERTISED. I ARRIVED AT 9:30PM. HAD TO WORK EARLY THE NEXT MORNING. NO TIME TO FIND ANOTHER ROOM. I WILL NEVER GO BACK AND I WOULDNT RECOMMEND.

2022-04-04Positive: The nastiest place i ve ever booked. Couldn¿t stay there for a minute. Cleanliness is the least of their priorities. Bed and mattress are fully stained. They dont even give atleast partial refund. I let them keep the money and booked another one.

2022-06-14Worst hotel Ive ever used. I booked this because we had a cancelled flight out of JFK and it had a 3 star rating and it was late at night. I should have read reviews! The lobby was old and bare bones.Receptionist was efficient. After check in, ride up elevator and hallway reeked of pot smoke. The room had torn coverings on headboards, stank of lots of old cigarette smoke, dirty towels on bathroom counter with open used bar of soap.I inspected beds, and sheets were clean and smelled fresh. Shower and tub were clean with modern updated fixtures. Beds were very comfortable, ( but we had been up for 26 hours after long flights from Europe and standing 5 hours in line at JFK to rebook flights ). Too exhausted to. search elsewhere for room at 1100pm.Next morning after check out we were sitting on steps waiting for a cab, when 2 undercover police officers drove up and interegated us for why we are there. Turns out this was a high crime area and this hotel is known for drug deals and Ladies of the Night. Do not stay here!!! Photos of room and view from window.

2022-04-28Hotel is awful. From the lobby where there are 2 broken dirty sofas ( 1 of it closes access to second floor) it is dirty and is stinked by smoke. Suspicious persons go around. Although I ordered room for non smokers they gave me room smelling by cigarettes. Floors are sticky. There are holes in curtains. Heater doesnt work. Only 6 channels for TV. And 2 small soaps in the bath room, no shampoo, lotion. Terrible experience!

2022-06-05Look I’m not going to lie - I felt a bit scared staying here as a female travelling solo. The hotel smelt like smoke, I was constantly hearing people in the halls, as I was checking in it seemed like people on drugs were coming down from the rooms. I was even asked for money while I was in the lobby. The woman at the desk when I checked in was rude - she asked for my PIN instead of giving me the card machine so I could enter it… but the staff in the morning were very friendly. The room itself was basic, it seemed old and rundown and a bit dirty but overall I slept okay. Another girl at the hotel said someone tried to get into her room at 10pm. All in all, don’t expect too much. Be conscious that Jamaica is apparently an unsafe area that you shouldn’t walk around at night. Not the hotels fault, but important to know.

2022-05-11Positive: Check in was easy. Negative: I didn¿t like the location although it was close to the metro it just felt like a bad area. The elevator smelled of weed. My table lamp was missing all the bulbs. My night stand light was broke and only one worked. The room w/ the queen bed was small

2022-05-31Positive: This is a terrible hotel. Trusted you to have decent hotels. This is not. Negative: This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. The room stunk like ciggs and beer. The floor was sticky! There was chunks of used soap stuck to the bath tub shower. The light switches were only have on and wires sticking out of other side.

2022-02-23If I could give this hotel 0 stars I would. There was blood on our door, puke on the sheets, and our door was graffiti. Smelled like weed and very very unsafe. I left within 30 minutes of walking in. Only was there for that long to figure out a new hotel to stay. They are not willing to give me a refund, the man I spoke with started yelling at me on the phone. Very disrespectful and unprofessional. Will never ever be back or recommend to anyone.

2022-02-22This experience was not acceptable. Initial room was dirty (trash full, cigarette droppings in AC unit, bed spreads had burn marks and table top was dirty with food, second room (we were escorted) was better at first glance. Once we settled in we noticed the box spring covers were dirty on both beds, bathroom fan did not work, the reading lights did not work, the light switch was broken and the floors were dirty... Also the glass front of the hotel, elevator and entrance were dirty. Customer service not so great. The location was good for what I needed to do however I would not recommend staying here.

2022-06-21Dont stay here. The room was disgusting. Smelled like smoke, dust everywhere, chewed gum on the floor, dirty towels, and soap residue all over the bathroom. The black dirt stains on the mattress, walls, and AC unit were all nice touches, too. I don’t think the room was cleaned before I arrived. The pictures online are not accurate. Free breakfast was a lie. I went downstairs to where the breakfast area was supposed to be and it was just boxes and garbage everywhere. (The smell of urine in the stairwells did not help my appetite, I might add.)I knew that this was not going to be a stay at the Ritz, but even my most bare minimum expectations of wifi and a clean bathroom were not met. I would call this place a disgusting airport hotel, but I fear that that would be an insult to disgusting airport hotels. If youre looking for a cheap hotel near JFK, almost any other option is a safer bet. This place is not legit.

2022-03-01Took over one FULL hour to check in. Young lady ( maybe college age or even as young as high school) was talking on the phone and completely oblivious to anyone that was checking in. She honestly looked high, which would not be a surprise, since there were 5 teenagers sitting in the lobby rolling blunts. That second hand must’ve really gotten to her.The area is SUPER sketchy. Lots of random teens in the lobby using the property as a place to chill and smoke weed and sprawl out on the couches. These were clearly not guests in the hotel. If management is too afraid to ask them to leave, they need to invest in a security guard. Also, rooms were decent, but reeked of smells that I didn’t even know existed. Please, spare yourself and find another place to spend the night.
