I was genuinely disappointed with the Tonkatsu ramen and Pad Thai noodle dish I ordered. The Tonkatusu ramen had an odd smell which I personally hadnt experienced with this dish before. The broth was good but I couldnt explain what the smell was. Pad Thai noodles were too sweet and overcooked, it was essentially mush. Shrimp was overcooked and flavorless. Wouldve tossed away but Im not a fan of wasting food.Sushi was good at least. Would go back for sushi if anything.Staff was very nice and efficient. The waiters did a great job

Fast service, nice sushi. My go to spot after shopping at Bloomingdales. I loved the Tomo roll, although would not get it with smoky flakes next time.

Arrived to get pick up a half hour after I ordered. Waited another half hour at the restaurant…does it really take an hour to make 2 sushi rolls? Very disappointed
We tried the pork soup dumplings and drypot! Boy oh boy.. it was really good! Just make sure to tell them to not make the drypot too spicy 😛 (if youre not good with chili)
I ordered the chicken bento box from Ajisai -- it is so good! The chicken was so juicy and tender. They cooked it with a the skin on it, and they made the skin crispy just the way I like it. Price is very affordable and reasonable for a bento box. It comes with side a salad & miso soup. The bento box itself has two pieces of shuimai and a roll of your choice (either tuna, salmon or California). Good value, taste and speed! I ordered for pick up during lunch hour on a weekday, it was ready within 15mins. Highly recommend and definitely order it again.

Having been a customer for many years, I must say that I was very disappointed when mandatory covud check was clearly not practiced, service near non existent and one might think w all the down time they might have wiped down the menu? Sad to say theyve lost a good customer after all these years.

Although outdoor dining can be difficult in NYC during the winter, Ajisai definitely tried to make the experience as comfortable as possible. As for the food, it was delicious!!! I had the pork gyoza to start, then the chicken teriyaki lunch bento along with 2 sushi rolls, the spicy tuna and spicy crunchy salmon. All amazing and it came out relatively quickly as well. Awesome place, I definitely recommend and plan on coming back 👌🏽
We ordered a pricey appetizer that looked incredible in one of the pictures from the menu. The plate we got was not even a third of the portion on the picture, it had barely any sauce and was poorly presented. When confronting the manager she tells us “we shouldnt be looking at the pictures” and doesnt see the problem at all. It just look like we got scammed through some kind of cheap marketing trick to make you order more.Ive never run a restaurant before but I thought the goal was to make customers happy so they can come back and spend their money in your restaurant instead of elsewhere. Not happy and not going back.
Service has been fine when I visited in person, but they often miss online orders and only start making it when you arrive at the restaurant. I would advise calling them to make sure they notice an order.
Great food decent price. I havent been disappointed yet. The rolls are always fresh. The tempura is super light and crispy. The Philadelphia roll is amazing as is many others ive tried. The sake is great. Idk what else to say. The staff is always very nice.
The service is always welcoming. I love the Lexington Avenue rolls and the pork gyoza is delicious! The hot sake is soo warming and affordable. I am very particular about my salmon, but the teriyaki salmon was amazing! One of my favorite lunch places!
Unique menu. Went during Sat. lunch so service was prompt. If you are tired of the prevalent ordinaryJapanese sushi/sashimi menu, give this place a try. Quite a few unique menu items that turned out to be delicious. Wish they had a branch on the west side.
I got a hair in my sushi in a bento box. Sent it back. Asked the waiter not bring sushi anymore just the rest of the meal and asked him twice no rice on a side (hate wasting food). Ignored all my requests. And charged me full price. Horrible horrible service and apparently not very clean kitchen.
Ordered the Pork Bun and it was 98% fat. Not even exaggerating. They replaced it, but it wasnt that good. Ordered the General Tso chicken. That was actually good (I dont know about $15 good though), but the white rice that came with it had a little tiny piece of metal in it. They replaced that as well. However at this point, we were very turned off and the only thing they did to try and save the experience was give us ice cream, but Im lactose intolerant. They should have probably compd something. But it was an overall bad experience and I will never come back and recommend anyone to avoid it. Also, I rarely rate any experiences, but this rating is warranted. How they have 4 stars overall is beyond me.
I went here with my team. I got a Vegetable Fried Rice which tasted very good. My folks ordered curry chicken be to box, rolls, beef Negi bent box. The presentation of the food was really good and the service was very friendly.
These people are so cheap - I asked them for extra ginger when ordered a take out. Came to pick it up and the lady kept insisting they put extra ginger. Got home and guess what they did - collected ginger from 6 boxes of sushi and put it together in one insisting that was extra ginger. Can’t believe these cheapskates won’t put $2 extra worth of ginger when you order $70+ worth of sushi. Just sad ! How cheap can they be ?!!!
The customer service was really bad, the waiter was antipathetic and the waitress started to clear the table before everyone was done eating !!! Our bill was 55$, we still gave $5 for tips...And guess what the waitress dared to ask us to raise the tip “because when you go to a restaurant you are asked to give 18%”I have never heard something that stupid.I think this is so disrespectful to ask to raise the tip, I really don’t recommend to eat there!!!
Had been a go to place for Sushi but disappointing the last few visits. Not as near a nice presentation and food seemed less fresh. Service has also fallen off.
Quick fresh clean sushi place, with the touch of UES pricing. Friendly clients/ customers as well. We started chatting with the people next table over a fallen scarf :)
Service was rude, food was lack luster in taste and fullness. This is not a joke, don’t eat there if it’s the last place open. They tried to force us to pay gratuity when they sucked! They said we had to and when I asked why she said “well we serve you.” Don’t not eat there. This is not a drill.

2022-06-13After 2 years of pandemic we ordered Japanese and we thought its never as good delivered as when made fresh right there in front of you. However, this was super fresh, tasty and delivered quickly. Highly recommended. Order direct from them and help them earn a living rather than giving a slice to delivery companies.Weve also eaten at their outdoor dining a couple of times, the food is great, the beer is cold, wonderful...

2021-09-04The worst tuna tartare I ever had. It also looked like someone throw it up on the plate and in a very deep plate, super uncomfortable to eat. The pork bun appetizer, has a slice of bacon without any meat, just pure fat. Was so hungry, but so disappointed that I couldn’t eat anything.

2022-04-27I have been going here for the past few years and have had food delivered for my business nearby. The past couple of deliveries have been terrible. The delivery people have been unprofessional, always seem to be lost when looking for my address even though its been in their system for years and the previous delivery people didnt have any issues. The food quality has gone significantly down as well. I strongly dont recommend ordering take our or delivery from here.

2022-06-12This place changes prices as they go on a daily basis. Every time I order the same thing at the same hour, they give me different prices. They never update the prices on the menus in the restaurant and on the website. Their website, the apps for delivery and the restaurant have all different prices and you never know which one is legit. I called earlier today to make sure what is it going to cost me this time when I will order, and the person on the phone told me the lunch special for 3 rolls is $16. I asked him to double check, and he said he was certain. Later on my way to work I called to place my order and another person charged me $19 and change. He said they changed the prices, which probably happened in the last hour idk. No one has a clue whats going on here.Sushi is ok, but not worth it any longer for all the bs.
