I called to get my cat in going to Akron is a cruz for me. But the last time I had a issue with my cat they were so compassionate and helpful. My cat is a patient of theirs and he is house cat. I have not had any reason to go to the vet because he has been very healthy. I called in a complete panic. Tried to make an appointment for that day or the next.. I was told i couldnt bring him in till Tuesday! I then asked if could bring him in as an emergency! The receptionist Donna said NO and to find somewhere else to go! When I asked for local suggestions I was not given any just told to call around! I am so UPSET with the lack and care and compassion of this place that i completely trusted before with both of my cats lives! I truly would consider a different vet if you can and never call them in a panic if your cat has an emergency and you are worried about his well being because it was clear to me they dont care.. Well at least the receptionist who answered the phone didnt!!!
I have been with this vet for years with all of my dogs. My little one ended up loosing her back leg through a multitude of mistakes both mine for trusting in and the arrogance of this vet. A simple X-Ray would have given her the chance to keep her leg. If you have an emergency with your pet, you may want to think twice before wanting to take your animal there.
These people are true professionals. I always feel like they truly care about my dog and my relationship to her. It’s fair to mention that I have never had to wait to be seen. If my appointment is for 12 PM, we are seen at 12 PM. It’s nice to feel good about treating with a great Doctor. I highly reccomend!!
My pets (dogs and cats) have been treated by Dr. Corrie for over fifteen years. She and her associate Dr. Marky have provided quality care and time and time again their excellent care is delivered with kindness and compassion. They encourage questions and provide options for treatment. They have treated my kittens and puppies and elderly cats and dogs. There are several animal hospitals that are much closer to my home but I gladly drive the extra miles to provide my pets with the best care that I have found in the area. The new facility is state of the art and the techs, assistants, and office staff provide a welcoming and professional environment.
When my long-time vet wouldnt see my dog who had a large laceration on her leg and referred me to an emergency vet quite a distance away, Akron Animal Hospital came to our rescue and immediately treated my dog without questioning ability to pay or asking that I begin using their practice. Their priority was caring for an injured animal. We have now been going to Akron Animal Hospital for several years and have had good experiences. Its clear that everyone there loves animals and the service is outstanding.
The last memory my cat has of me was abandoning him! I wanted to be in the room with him just until he was put out. The Dr was in surgery and I would have waited. They insisted I leave him there. I cant get the picture out of my head of him looking at me as I left . They called me a half hour later to say hed been euthanized and I can come get him. I cant stop crying over the fact that he thought I didnt want him no more. It was an awful experience. I sensed NO COMPASSION AT ALL. they never offered me to wait. Never explained the process or told me I can hold him or comfort him till hes put under as other animal hospitals do. All he knew was that I tricked him into the carrier and left him with strangers. How cold !
Needed urgent help for a sick kitten, they didn’t even want to see her. They basically said to let her suffer or take her to spca to put her down . If we would have gotten help sooner , maybe she could have been saved . We called spca and were on the way there , we didn’t even make it half way there and it was too late . But the spca of western New York we’re very willing to help her if they could. So yeah ,definitely don’t recommend going to Akron Animal Hospital.... They don’t actually care about animals in real need
I have owned pets for 56 yrs. have been to many animal hospitals and akron animal hospital far exceeds expectations. Dr. Corrie is the most knowledgeable ,honest, patient and compassionate vet I have met. Prognosis are explained in detail so it is understood and options are discussed and decisions are supported. There are many animal hospitals in my area but will go out of my way to see Dr.Corrie. My animals are my family and are treated like family when going to Akron animal hospital. In my eyes there is no other vet.!
My cat grew very ill and we called around for a vet to see us asap. They said they would squeeze my baby boy in but once we made it there, they demanded from $1000 to $1300 up front without even seeing him. Because we couldnt pay, they turned us out. My handsome little man passed away later on that day. All because we couldnt pay Im full right away.
Thanks to the fact that they care more about money then helping a sick animal my cat suffered and passed away. They wouldnt see or help my cat cause i didnt have the means to pay the almost $1300 bill it would have been to save my poor cat, they would not even work with me on figuring out a way to pay for it. Do not waste your time with these money grubbing Med school flunkies who could careless about the animals that come through their doors

2022-06-13Didnt need ER care for problem. Medicine given was helping and felt like she was pushing somethings to check before even giving the other a chance. Never used the boarding here.

2021-01-21Love Dr Corrie and Akron Animal Hospital! I would highly recommend going here. She is so caring and real with you, which I appreciate. My family has been bringing our dogs here for years and never have had any issues. Our first dog lived to be a few months shy of 16, in my opinion, that tells you a lot. One thing that really stands out to me is the fact that whenever I have a question, Dr Corrie always calls me back personally. That is not common practice these days. I really respect her for going above and beyond with that and many other things. The staff is knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. They treat my little Pomeranian with a lot of care. Thank you Akron Animal Hospital!!! 2 thumbs and 4 paws up!!! 👍👍🐾🐾

2020-08-20Ive been seeing Dr.Corrie for years & never once has she failed to help. Most local vets only care about money or are not knowledgeable enough about cats. Some of the reviews on here are just bogus to me or a huge misunderstanding. This practice goes above & beyond for people & their pets. What I love most is that this vet isnt afraid to sugar coat bad news. She will tell you the situation up front & honestly in such a way that other vets Ive seen wont do. Its not unprofessional if its the truth. Some people cant handle being told awful news about their beloved pet. Im happy to continue seeing Dr.Corrie & putting my trust in her. If it werent for her Im pretty sure some of my cats wouldnt have made it as long as they did.I rate a 4/5 stars simply because its hard to schedule a immediate appointment or emergency sometimes. This practice really only has Dr.Corrie as the only vet in the facility. So if you do have an emergency that seriously cant wait, please contact an Emergency Vet Clinic instead. Its a very busy hospital.

2020-01-22Ive been with Dr. Corrie for years!! Shes treated all of my animals. Her and her staff always goes above and beyond for us. They get our guys in right away if its an emergency and are always willing to work with us. The staff is always helpful and kind. Ive never had an issue with anyone there. Shes taken late calls from us for an emergency situation with my Roscoe and walked me through what to do until I could see her the next day since the ER vet wanted to charge me $2000 and it wasnt necessary. Her prices have always been reasonable and fair. My dogs LOVE her. Im extremely skeptical of some of the reviews on here - a lot of them dont even make sense. Remember theres 3 sides to every story - both sides and then the truth.....

2020-07-16My mothers little dog became very ill. They where so attentive and concerned about her they called me to be able to bring her in sooner. We had never been there before but they treated us as if we were regular patrons. They saved our little Sweetie and my 97 yr. Old Mom is feeling like herself as well as Sweetie.I live in Amherst but I am seriously thinking about bringing my Baby out here. I had paid much more to get terrible service elsewhere. Which reminds me...they are not pushy to get more money out of you. They are just wonderful!

2019-03-23Dr. Corrie is a wonderful veterinarian. I trust her knowledge and experience. I felt my two dogs were getting the best care possible. When it was time for me to say goodbye to my beloved dog, the staff could not have been more compassionate. It made a difficult time easier. They truly went above and beyond for me. I will be forever thankful to them.

2019-01-04This is not about the vet but the kennel service they have through them. I used this kennel since my 18 year old dog goes to this vet. I thought she would be in good hands. Guess I was wrong. My little girl came home with an eye infection because they never cleaned her eye. They said to me when I picked her up I should take her to Dr Cory(spelling?) to look at her eye. Why did I take her to you guys if you can not manage basic care for my dogs. I paid extra for her to be there too. My other dog that stayed there to still is depressed about his stay. So I really have nothing nice to say about their kennel service. Go use Rover or something if you want someone who CARES to take care of your dogs.
