Aladdins Natural Eatery in other cities:
We where visiting from out of town and it was in the middle of a snow storm. This restaurant was amazing, it was definitely the most authentic food I have ever eaten and customer service was amazing as well. We really didnt know what to get and the staff was very knowledgeable about all of the food and helped us choose our meals. I would recommend them again. Must try!
I’ve been eating here for over 20 years. The last several years has been a disappointment. The chicken salad salad has almost no chicken in it at this point - mostly walnuts apples and celery now. And the last straw was taking the pistachio pasta off the menu. Just raise the prices for God’s sake and keep the quality - I would gladly pay. No longer my favorite go-to for takeout - not even on the list anymore.
Love this place! Great service with a really kind staff. Sitting on the balcony on a nice day have the city noise below you and plenty of opportunity to watch interesting people. Food is well prepared and comes out in a timely fashion. Portion sizes are great and the prices are more than fair!
I have been getting my salads here for a while and they’re very good but the thing that disappoints me the most is how I have so many stalk pieces in my Caesar’s salad instead of leaves every time, the majority of the salad was all stalk! I hope they can change the way they chop their salad for a more enjoyable experience instead of me having to dig around in my salad.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Rochester. Whenever Im craving something healthy I cant get this place out of my mind. Everything is fresh and light and the prices are surprisingly low. The torlou is one of my favorite appetizers, and the plates are all excellent. The chicken salad salad is also a favorite, it has apples in it and it is and not full of mayo like other chicken salads. I think my friends are tired of me always picking Aladdins because I love it so much! Consistent quality.
Pittsford’s Aladdin’s was a great dine-in! We had a nice waitress, the food came out relatively quickly, and it all tasted AMAZING. Could not even finish my plate (Vegetarian combo: Baba, Tourlou, and Falafel), it was so good! Not to mention, they are fortunately very generous with their portions 😉 Anyways, I was eager to try something new — the baba — but ended up not liking it which is fine, I’m glad I tried. Their tourlou is... to die for. It tastes so meaty, yet it’s simply a classy ratatouille of eggplant & garbanzo beans (chickpeas), seasoned PERFECTLY with peppers, onions, and garlic. Their falafel is tremendously flavorful and moist! It was just tender to the bite! Awesome chef/kitchen crew. We will be coming back for sure.
We stopped by Aladdins for lunch after we couldnt get seated for an hour elsewhere before going to Geva for A Christmas Carol. We walked right in and were seated immediately. Our orders were taken and food came out promptly. It was so fast that we actually had some time to kill before the show! My pignolia was so delicious, I highly recommend! Rich taste but not heavy. Definitely worth a stop in!
My group and I ordered lunch here after getting a recommendation. The serving sizes were huge, the prices are great, and our waitress was absolutely lovely. However when we began eating we noticed a strange taste to our food. I pulled apart my Peta to try to find what it was when I realized lettuce tasted like grass. It looked fresh and it was crisp but it completely tasted like grass. 2 out of the three of us couldnt keep eating it and we sent the food out saying it wasnt good, expecting to just pay for our meals after our last member finished and get food elsewhere. The manager came to our table very accusatory and confrontational saying everything was great and we just didnt like her restaurant. When we told her everything was wonderful but the lettuce she pointed at the one who kept her meal then me saying I ate half my meal which is false(I had a few bites at most then pulled it apart). We repeatedly told her it was just the lettuce and would still be paying for our meals but the manager was still very rude then insisted on comping the meal. While she did remove one of the meals we sent back from the bill it was such a bad experience in an otherwise lovely place that Im giving two stars. It truly soured our days and was very disappointing. I hope this review doesnt deter any customers, as again everything else was absolutely amazing including the waitress besides dealing with the management after eating the lettuce. I also hope this helps improve customer interaction with the manager in the future.
I have been eating here for years and I love it! The food is always great, and I dont think theyve ever gotten our orders wrong, whether take out or delivery. My favorite menu items are the Baba and the beef kabob pita. This is absolutely my favorite Mediterranean place in town. The service has always been good with one exception when I brought a large group. That time it was truly terrible, and caused me to only get take out for a while. Glad I gave them another chance!
This is not your average greek restaurant that is small, cramped and mostly looks like a take out place. This place has a nice appeal and vibe to it as you enter. Has both indoor and outdoor seating, the outdoor seating is located on the upper level with a decent view of Monroe Ave street. We went on a Saturday night around 7:30, the place had light crowd, the outdoor seating had more occupants than indoor so that’s where we decided to dine. The view is decent depending on the day you visit. Since it was Saturday night, there were lots of things going around on the street with bikers and muscle cars going around. Anyways, not deviating from the place, staff greeted us pleasingly and we took a comfy spot to sit. We had a Grilled Chicken Strips with Tahini for appetizer and a mixture of Freshly squeezed Orange and Carrot juice. The portion size was generous for 2. Chicken was well cooked, tender and juicy. The tahini sauce tasted well with the chicken and complimented it pretty well. The juices were exceptionally good and fresh. For the mains we had a chicken kebab pita wrap and a chicken gyro wrap. I think the chicken was same from the appetizer and only the sauce inside was different and the only difference between the 2 wraps was the chicken kebab wrap had Feta cheese in it giving it a slight sweet-sour taste and that made it taste better than the other wrap which was kind of bland and the only taste I enjoyed in it was when I dipped it in the tahini sauce left over from our appetizer. Quantity and quality was good, I only wish the chicken wrap had more punch in it. Overall it was a pleasant experience and one thing I truly loved here was the juice. Decently priced and freshly made, this place certainly gives the major juice places a run for their money.Score Card:Food - 4/5Ambience - 3.5/5Service - 3.5/5Value for Money - 3.5/5
Five of us ate here and the food was delightful. I liked every item, from the baba ghanoush to the taboulleh to the moussaka and two meat platters we got. I love the multi-level interior with the splitting staircase, its quirky but classy and makes for a nice dining experience. Service was very good and the food came out quickly too. Very happy with this place!
Was extremely disappointed in what I ordered. I have had it at the Shoen Place location and it was 100 times better. I had the Moussaka dinner with garden salad. Only one small piece of eggplant was in there. Also it was to go and the garden salad was in the same container as the entree. It was a waste of money. I would have driven to Pittsford if I knew it was going to be like that.
Inside needs some serious updates but the food is AMAZING. Huge portions, fair prices, always fresh and well cooked and seasoned. Staff is friendly and the outside patio is nice. Parking is really rough, and the bathroom is not ideal. Despite the negatives, 100% worth the visit.
So nice with covid and all. I walked in I was asked will I be dining in or taking out? Pleasant and kind the food was way better than I could guess. Trying to get back on track with health a simple garden salad with chicken and salad dressing great amount of food fresh lettuce cucumbers mushrooms tomatoes and snuck a lava cake chocolate oh my so good I will be back
This place is amazing! My family has been coming here for years. Food is always fresh and delicious. Service is always very nice and friendly. I don’t know what these one star reviews are about-but anyone can see that 99% of these reviews are 5 stars. Definitely fantastic!!
CROSS CONTAMINATION! Quite disappointed. I ordered a salad & there was chicken in my food (I don’t eat meat) I let a member of staff know & she basically responded with a “ it’s s no big deal/accidents happen” kinda attitude . It’s important that you look out for the wellness and dietary requirements of your customers. First experience and definitely my last. If I were a vegan this would be a problem.
I wouldve given it 5 stars but our 2nd waiter never came over to check on us to see if we needed anything or to even give us our check. The 1st waitress was leaving and told us we would have a new waiter. she was great during the time she waited on us..she checked on us and everything.suggested a few things..the food was GREAT but that 2nd waiter ruined the 5 star. He looked at me a few times but still didnt come over to at minimum introduce himself as our new waiter. We even had to go to the counter to find someone to get us our check and cash out. Next time we will just do take out.One last thing..I tip well for well service..i will return to give the 1st waitress a tip. yes the 2nd waitress didnt get a dime from me or my sister...he didnt do anything so why should we.
Aladdins was nicer pre COVID still they are alright.Theres no drinks alcoholic or juice and the menu has lost some favorites. The food I got was great but it was missing some ingredients that the menu had described. I had plenty of time to eat my lunch but didnt get out until 4 maybe a walk up payment system would work better in these strange times.
Parking is a little small, I recommend just parking on Oxford. Very intelligent and personable staff, put up with all our antics and friendly quips hahaFood is on the lower side price wise so you can order quite a lot and share it around the table easily. Definitely worth checking out to try something a little different, but tons of options if your picky grandmother is coming with you lolThere are stairs to climb for some tables, so if thats an issue I recommend calling in advance to have accomodations ahead of time, to ensure a table easier accessable.
The server K was excellent. She was attentive and responsive to the needs of the guests. The wait time was reasonable. The meal was Spinach salad with grilled chicken. I ordered a gyro dinner to go. 3 people enjoyed the dinner. It is priced well beyond reasonable and I have since recommended this location to several associates. Thank you Don for the recommendation.
The food is always great from here. My wife picked up our order and brought it home. I cannot speak of the conditions of the restaurant or seating. My wife tried something new. I believe it was some rice dish, but it seemed more like a sampler of some of the food there. She ordered hers with chicken and she loved it. I believe there was a small salad and even some humus. I apologize for not remembering the name of the dish. I got my usual small humus and Roman salad. Just love those. I usually eat the salad first and save the humus for the next day. We did not get baklava this time either, but it is usually very tasty.I have recommended this restaurant to several friends and when the weather is nice and no pandemic going on the outdoor seating on the balcony is really nice. I am not sure if it is open at all now or not. If it is and the weather is good, I recommend sitting out there. The people working there are very nice and are always working very hard. I do not think I have ever seen them resting, ever. Very enjoyable 😁
I am a regular customer at Aladdins, I enjoy their food very much as well as their friendliness. Tonight was the worst night have experienced. I order my food for pickup over the phone they said 25 minutes, I was fine with that. I gave them 40 minutes garanteeing that my food will be ready when I arrive, it was not. I waited an extra 30 minutes for my food, it would have been ok if I was given an apology since the gentlemen before me got his apology for the delay for his food. I received nothing, no apology. Which really disappointed me. Need to teach your staff that when there is an issue because it is very busy and there is a delay in the customers order apologize, that will go a long way to getting a nice review.
Aladdins never disappoints, on their website they make a distinction of not being affiliated with any other Aladdin restaurants, and thats because this one on Monroe ave is simply the best and authentic style food! The food is fresh, the place clean, and service is excellent! We love this place, and my wife is Syrian so she knows good food..two thumbs up!
Very underwhelmed. I had been here years ago and remmebered it fondly. (I live in buffalo) this time around, eh. We found a seat upstairs, the server came after a while and asked for drinks commenting sorry he couldnt see this table behind a pillar. (Well, if you have that section you need to check your tables.)Ordered food and a glass of wine. 15m later finally caught him and asked for the wine again that never came, it came in about 5m more and then our food came out.Food was average, nothing special.Restaurant was chilly. I am usually someone who if anything is too warm, but it was cold. The mens bathroom is 🥶 FREEZING I dont think theres any heat, its like an ice box.Maybe theyve just lost their groove from being closed for so long with Covid to indoor dining, hope they get it back.
I love this place. They have excellently prepared food and very high quality ingredients. Great for lunch or dinner with reasonable prices. The staff is friendly, and the outdoor seating is quite pleasant, though I do end up getting takeout more often than eating in.Highly recommended, especially if youre looking for a healthy meal.
We were seated immediately. The choice of tables was The choice of tables was open for the most part. The staff was courteous. As far as Aesthetics I feel they could upgrade a bit easily. The food was delicious and portions were great. And Ill transparency cleanliness could be better. Perhaps add a staff member just to make sure theres no toilet paper on the floor that you can see while youre at your table. The food was definitely delicious and I would prefer take out as opposed to dining in myself. I would also prefer they paid more attention to the details of cleanliness because thats a big deal when youre dining out. The staff was friendly and accommodating. It did feel they were potentially overbooked concerning tables. Im not a demanding guest but felt that service could have been a couple notches better. Overall I would rather get take out because the food and portions are great but the ambience and level of Staff they hire to create an experience is lacking.
Flavorless and frozen food, filthy menus and carpet, and a hostess that has no problem loudly discussing how greasy and bad the food is. Hard to say Id come back.*Note: Owner contacted me and said we have the carpets professionally cleaned every 6 weeks and all of our food is made in-house. If thats, the case, get a new contractor to clean your carpets and fix the restroom hand dryer. Also, not only can I taste that your food is frozen (because it doesnt taste like anything) but your waiter even told me that most of the menu was frozen food.
Amazing food fanatstic service, possibly understaffed versus the number of guests who dine here. Our 630pm reservations didnt have our dinners on the table until nearly 8pm! However, we loved the food, the atmosphere, the selection, the portion sizes, the prices, and of course the after-meal baklava! Will be back, loved it!
I love all of their food! The pistachio pasta with spinach pasta is my favorite though. Come here for a great meal and wonderful service. Also a plus is they have very reasonably priced wine, get a bottle for what 1 or 2 glasses costs you elsewhere. The service is so great too, even the cooks try to please you! I asked about where they get their pasta and they brought me a label from it so I had it to look up later. Can’t say good enough things about Aladdins!
Great service & nice selection of healthy dishes! I ordered the appetizer Tourlou, which is a Ratatouille of roasted vegetables, mainly eggplant and chickpeas eaten with pita pockets. Very delicious & filling! I also had the Gyro Plate but because of its size had to box it & take it home for another meal. The service was fast & efficient. Very pleasant atmosphere at 4:15 pm as diners conversed quietly.
I knew that I would miss the place since moving to the West coast. I crave their Greek salad and lentil soup at least once every couple of months. I consider myself somewhat of an authority on salads since I love eating them and this place has got it down. Great portions, awesome dressing and no skimping on ingredients or putting in fillers. This place is near and dear to my heart, can’t wait to visit when I’m in town again.
Very authentic Mediterranean feel. Menu has some great options that a lower end Greek restaurant typically wouldnt have. Food is excellent from what Ive had so far. Beer/ wine menu is better than average. Staff is helpful and welcoming. Unique building that is clean and modern.
Always good, always reasonable. Been three times now, and everything was delicious. A range of categories that let you off easy, or let you go a- binging. Either way, youll probably get at least another lunch out of it.Pasta with luscious sauces, cant beat Greek staples, meal worthy apps (for me, at least) and a $5 generous beef tenderloin add on!! Who else does this? But no sweat, vegetarians. Plenty of choices for you, too. Vegan? Not sure, didnt look, but I think likely.Beer and wine (YAY!)Sadly, no longer serve a raspberry/white/chocolate/mousse cake that would make you swoon in ecstasy. Said it got too expensive. We tried to order one from Chicago...they were right. It was..
This is my favorite restaurant in Rochester. Their food is absolutely phenomenal. My favorite meal is the mixed grill with dark meat chicken and the greek salad and hummus. My wifes favorite is the chicken pita. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. Monroe Ave location is much better than Pittsford location FYI.
Wonderful place to celebrate - we were a party of 7 , we had 2 waiters taking care of our table and they were extremely attentive to us.The presentation of the food was beautiful, the bread to start the meal was delicious. I had a signature cocktail ( actually 2 ) - perfect. Most ordered steaks and everyone said it was cooked to perfection. I had the scallops - cooked perfectly, and would order it again.
Food was good. No complaints. When one goes out to eat it is not just for the food but also for the service. Im sorry but the service was very poor. After my friend and I seated ourselves, the waitress brought us water and we placed an order of an appetizers plate as well as our dinner. There was no serving spoon or tong or fork provided to pick our appetizers. The waitress brought us our dinner. She never came back to fill our empty glasses of water nor did she enquire if the food we ordered was ok. She gave us one napkin each and that was it. We ate our food, paid the bill, and left completely disappointed. She was tipped well though.
One of my favorite places to eat not just in Rochester but anywhere. Delicious food, huge portions, friendly staff and prices so low you actually feel guilty. Make up for it with a nice tip and count your blessings a gem like this continues to thrive. The Pignolia pasta dish is maybe my favorite food ever.
Went there with my friend for dinner. Restaurant is nice with friendly service. The menu was little weird. It had chicken kababs, not on skewers but rolled in bread. We ordered pistachio pasta which was good. The falafel had extra baking soda in it, we could taste the soda. Overall this restaurant is far away from authentic Mediterranean cuisine.
We are regulars here and just love it. The salads are so fresh and delicious. The tabouli is the best I have ever had. Portions are huge. Service is wonderful. Love sitting outside in the warm weather, but inside is nice too. You cant get a better value anywhere. The takeout is great too... we often will pick up dinner and bring it home or to a friends house.
My favorite place to eat, the food is always fresh and nicely presented. For some reason I always have the same staff which I do not mind because she is always pleasant and attentive. Did I mention the desserts are all amazing and also fresh. I am never disappointed when I dine here.
This was a really good restaurant. We liked the one in Pittsford better (right on the Erie Canal, with a great view). It was very crowded on the Saturday night that we went there. The food was good and the prices reasonable. The staff was friendly. They have Gluten free options. The Mediterranean food was great.
CHICKEN GYROS are excellent. Salads are very good. There is always seating available, food comes quickly (considering the cook time) and fresh, and the staff has always been kind and helpfu. Ive dined in no less than 5 times. Never had a problem. Patronage is diverse. Cozy spot.
Applies to catering only–Our company has ordered catering many times from Aladdins. Twice now they have completely forgotten our order (for a group of 20 people) and made no effort to apologize when they realized their mistake. After the first time, we figured mistakes happen but when I called the second time I was told the order was lost once again. Eli was EXTREMELY rude to both myself and coworkers when he delivered the order. He yelled on the phone and never once apologized for his mistake. This saddens me since the food is always so delicious, but we will never be ordering from such an unreliable business again.
Amazing restaurant with great authentic Greek cuisine. The Greek salads are phenomenal and the house dressing is recommended. Also try The baklava. The prices are inexpensive which is a plus. The atmosphere is nice though a little tight. Overall great food, great prices and good atmosphere.
Food was too expensive to be that disappointing. Falafel was bad, extremely salty, overpower flavored or sesame, so that was a waste. The the pasta aglio e olio dish was just blan, I barely use salt and it had no flavor at all, no garlic no taste of the veggies, not pepper flakes. So I ate the 4 pieces of shrimp I paid 5$ for which was good :( .. lady never refilled our waters, which I need to waste the falafel taste away. But nice restaurant
This is one place the company i work for go to get eat-in lunch so i decided to give the place a try and i was not disappointed. Good place to eat Greek/Mediterranean food. Kabba n pita was nice. Had this noddle cant remember the name but a reviewer has a picture of it here, very lovely. Was expecting a rush because its a Friday and close to downtown but the food came out quick and nice
Really excellent food. Maybe Im just a simpleton but I thought the quality was great. The staff was excellent, VERY attentive and always super friendly. The portions were huge and everything was reasonably priced given how much you received. Get the Baklava for dessert even if you have no room, its fantastic! The restaurant itself has a really unique multi-level layout. Very aesthetically pleasing. The top floor is well lit with plenty of sunlight coming in.Totally different vibe from pittsford. Avoid the pittsford location at all costs and go to the Monroe restaurant, you wont be disappointed.
They’ve got the best moussaka I’ve ever had! Their Greek salad dressing is uniquely good, and the baklava never disappoints, nor does the hummus. Parking is a major pain, and I’ve taken to bringing my family so we can double park in the teeeeeeny tiny lot and I can run in for takeout and not leave the car unattended. The parking situation is the only reason I give it four stars.
Pitford location. If I could give them a complete zero I would. I was excited to eat with them, and order what I thought was a regular chicken salad but it was something completely different. They told me people made the mistake all the time and that still they were not going to switch the salad out. And that I would have to rebuy even thoe it was an error and see if didn’t eat itZ I just wanted it made the correct way so that I could try them. Really rude manager also(women). Didn’t even try to hear me speak really just wanted to let me know she wanted correcting anything.
Aladdins is an excellent stop on Monroe Ave. Ive been here many times, and never been disappointed. I always order my favorite dish: the moussaka. Aladdins is the first place Ive had this dish, and they definitely set the bar high. The Baklava was excellent, however one order is definitely enough for 2-4 people to split. It comes with 4 pieces, so keep that in mind!
OMG so good! Healthy food, but filling, large portions and great prices. The souvlaki salad was 2 skewers of tenderloin perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked. This was over a bed of mixed greek salad greens including feta, tomatos, cukes, kalamata olives and more---all for $13! Fantastic chicken vegetable soup, home made, with unique spices. We will be back!
Ive also had their hummus, spanokoptia, salad and pitas, and theyre all good. I usually go to the Schoen place location mainly because its so hard to park at the one on Monroe. I had never noticed before, but the prices are actually a lot cheaper at the Monroe restaurant, so I might try to go there more often.
Food is very good but the prices online do not match the actual prices in the store.. owner will not honor prices online so don’t even ask.. food is delicious so becuase if that I give him 3 stars.. If you order over the phone please double check the prices.. service was mediocre at best..
Cant believe I havent reviewed Aladdins yet, its been a favorite restaurant of mine since I was a kid. The food is always fresh, the portions are huge, and the prices are astonishingly low. The woman who is the head server has a heart of gold and is lovely to interact with. Sitting on the balcony overlooking Monroe is a treat when the weather permits it. I forever love Aladdins!
I dont live far from here so we come here alot. The food is always delicious and fresh. You get so much food at a great price. My personal favorite is the Moussaka. But the mixed grill and gyro are also good. Great customer service. You HAVE to visit this place. Highly recommended.
The traditional Greek dishes are amazing at Aladdins. The pasta is ok, but not as good as the real exceptional Greek dishes. If you go to the Monroe Ave location near downtown, there is a small parking lot out back, but parking can be very difficult as its in the city. You might be driving around for a while if you go at a busy time, so leave time for that or the walk. I would not let that stop me from going to this restaurant. If youre in the mood for Greek, Aladdins is a must, just deal with the parking issue. Other location is in Pittsford which is great as well.

2021-11-17An accident Mediterranean restaurant I went for the rice platter with vegetables its a huge plate and the food was excellent. We also tried The baklava there and it was really great and authentic baklava. The people in the restaurant are super nice and friendly, definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a good Mediterranean restaurant in the town with good vegetarian options.

2021-08-16Everything was delicious and so well-priced. Im not from the area but if I was, I would DEFINITELY become a regular. Every entree on the menu is around $10-12 and the baklava was amazing. Our server was also such a sweetheart taking care of us. Would definitely recommend.

2022-04-08All the server are fantastic and very tentative. The portions are huge and the salads are very fresh. I love the rice with the pita and the humus is very creamy. Definitely a nice place to visit especially during the summer as the second floor patio is a nice place to sit.

2022-02-20I just left what has to be one of the worst lunch experiences Ive ever had!! 1) table and chairs were in need of repair, almost felt like we were going to tip over! 2) ordered a tuna salad pita with lettuce. Received a scoop of bland tuna, stuffed with mixed greens. Sent it back with the waitress saying oh yeah sorry were updating our menu. Then the table behind us the women were loud and and swearing almost the whole time!!! Finally myself and another gentleman had enough and told her to be quiet!! Pretty much the whole staff played stupid and said that they couldnt hear them, and clearly someone that was working knew them! And was allowing it. We will never be going back, and not recommend this place! TOTALLY DISGUSTING!!
