If youre using priority pass to check into the lounge, dont make the extra effort. They obviously dont want priority pass members to come, probably because priority pass isnt paying them enough. Is it worth it to pay a day pass? No.I had a 3.5 hr layover from terminal 5 and made my way to terminal 7, and was told by the front desk they dont allow priority pass members in until 2 hrs prior to departure. I came back during the time frame only to find that they put a sign up stating priority pass members had to scan a QR code (which wasnt working) and had a 45 minute wait. Luckily the other front desk person (not Jeffrey) remembered who I was and was able to let me in.There was barely any food items left. Just 1 soup selection, cookies, salad, pretzel and the hot chocolate machine wasnt working.Tldr; worse lounge ever, dont waste your time
Was put on waiting list at 6:40pm due to capacity issues. Stood outside for 50 mins, finally was let in at just after 7:30pm to find that all of the food had been taken away at 7:30, and that there were literally around 10 people in the entire lounge. (And there had not been a large flow of people out of the lounge while I waited.) Got the feeling that the reception desk staff are playing some kind of weird power game with those who just want a brief respite and a snack. I would not recommend this place.
First of all, most of us have probably agreed that the Alaska lounge, especially this T7 one, is among the well-established membership lounges traditionally branded by us-based carriers. However, it shouldn’t be compared with those of international airlines as the products themselves are conceptually different. The lounge is clean, modern, with great view overlooking the tarmac. That being said, I think the major problem here is that there’re too many ways to get access to this one little lounge (e.g., AS membership, PriorityPass varieties, UA PS transcontinental, day-pass, and so on).
Lounge always has a wait list of 45+ minutes and Priority Pass members are the first to be turned away. Food is always scarce, stale, or unavailable. Barista-run coffee station is never open. The lounge in generally unclean, including crumbs on surfaces and stained seating. Dirty dishes sit for a long time before staff remove them. Entrance staff are unhelpful and often rude. Inside the lounge, staff are lazy (if present at all).
Access to this lounge for priority pass members has become a joke. I arrived to the airport promptly 2 hours before take off which is when the lounge accepts priority pass members. When I arrive at the lounge, the guy at the front desk tells me that there is a waitlist for the lounge and that the wait would be close to an hour. I put myself on the waitlist, and there is almost no movement in that hour. I started at 20 in line and slowly move to 10th. After 30 minutes there was no longer any movement at all. I went back to the desk 1 hour into waiting, and they finally let me in. Seems the list was not a priority for them anymore to even go through as 3 people left the lounge while I was waiting to speak to the person at the front desk to kindly ask if they would let me in.In the lounge, it was at less than half the capacity (based on the number of seats available). I had a glass of wine (mini glass) and when I went for a second one, the person at the bar said they already “put the drinks away” although I could see all the bottles. This was at 7:40 (20 mins before they close).Don’t get your hopes up in this lounge - if you can even get in to begin with.Poor service and even poorer treatment of priority pass members.
Like others have said, priority pass members are put on a waitlist, for at least 45 mins (mine was an hour) and only allow you to sign up 2 hours prior to departure. Well guess what, boarding is usually 45 minutes prior to departure so a one hr wait (I was 27th in line) plus 45 min pre boarding and you’ve got no time left. Sure, there are only 2 lounges serving 12 gates at this terminal, but they do this even when it’s not busy. If you don’t want priority pass members why put the lounge on the list? Take it off so members can plan alternatives versus leading us on.
Having played with their waitlist system for priority pass, theyll give you about 30 mins in lounge for use if theyre managing capacity, which is often now that theyre in oneworld. I suspect this may have to do with making sure they dont lose money on pp customers. So, if thats all you need, get on the waitlist, otherwise dont and use another lounge you can access in another termjnal or browse the ubiquitous alcohol which t7 seems to feature.
Arrived to the lounge at 7.10pm to be told I needed to be added to a ‘wait list’ after 50 mins I was number 10 on the wait list to went back to check and was allowed straight in to a totally empty lounge and was told that they stopped serving food at 8pm with last orders at 7.30pm! So I was basically put on a wait list so I couldn’t access the lounge and the amenities. Staff were really rude and unhelpful when I expressed how this had annoyed me - frankly they could not have cared less. The worst lounge!
Take this place off Priority pass if youre literally never able to allow priority pass guests access. I have been able to enter this lounge ONCE out of dozens of attempts. It doesnt belong on priority pass if you can never use it. Literally wastes an hour or more of someones time going through the dumpster fire that is terminal 7 TSA with no precheck to get into the terminal to find out that its closed
If I could give no stars I would. The greeter at the front should get a 5 Star he was charming and let us know where everything would be. The gal who was to attend to the bar was back in the employee area chatting on her phone. When she finally came out she said something I couldn’t understand. I said pardon me - hushed and let me know she was on her phone. All the food had been picked through and not filled up. What a disappointment-they could use to take a lesson from SeaTac.
Located in Terminal 7 just up the escalator after security. It’s a decent lounge but they limit the amount of Priority Pass entrants. The few times that I’ve came here, it’s been relativity empty but they still had a wait list. The free food options are pretty limited. They have a in-house barista during certain hours and a espresso machine when they are not around. The bar is pretty nice but premium drinks are paid as is a few food options. Seating is very comfortable and the view of the tarmac is nice. There’s free WiFi and tables with power outlets to get work done if needed.
Refused entry for priority pass. Stated that they do not allow priority pass holders after 7pm. It was 7:05 pm on 12/23/21. The lounge was empty. Called Priority pass and they said that this was not true. Returned and spoke to the manager. She said “Go ahead and file a complaint there’s nothing I can do.” After looking at other reviews it seems like this is a common problem and this lounge does not accept Priority Pass. They should remove this lounge from their system.
No wonder such bad reviews! They let us book and get in line to enter with our priority pass. Guess we never will because we are still Waiting and 2 hours passed, no place to sit here, so were on the floor near our gate, and the line didnt move at all during all this wait.
One of the worst lounge by Alaska. The customer service is terrible. We are both priority pass member and Alaska MVP card member and the guy at the front told us the lounge is full. We came in at 6 am on a Monday. Alaska only has 1 flight in the next 2 hours. How could the lounge be so full this early.
Don’t think you will get in if you have any type of priority pass! We tried to go in today and were told to join the waiting list (when we joined we were the first in line) after 2h of waiting we went to the front desk lady and told us they were “full” but people were coming out, and if you paid their $50 fee you could go in! We were a few waiting outside… at this point I think they should stop advertising they have Priority Pass acceptance because they don’t
Total joke. As others have said, they have a “Priority Pass waitlist” despite the terminal being empty. Rude staff. If you’re going to be in the priority pass network, honor it…UPDATE: Eventually was granted the privilege of entering the average lounge. Unsurprisingly, practically empty.
Clean, comfortable and attractive lounge. If your only goal is to sit, have power outlets and use wifi, youre good to go. There are power outlets pretty much everywhere and the wifi is not bad. However, as youll read elsewhere in the reviews, the food experience is kind of a joke. Theres a tiny salad bar, soup (which was cold when I went back for seconds!), and the cookies are about as good as chips ahoy packaged cookies. The drinks bar and coffee bar were both not staffed for most of the time we were there. The only highlight was a pancake maker, which was fun, but also ran out frequently.Data point for Priority Pass: Im priority pass and brought a guest, had no trouble getting in on the afternoon of Memorial Day.
Let me start by saying that I love Alaska Airlines. Their service, staff, cleanliness has been the best during this pandemic. I mistakenly had the same expectation from the lounge. The person at the front desk (Christy) was horrible. I have learned that priority pass customers are the lowest on the totem pole and boy- did she rub that in! After the 30 minute wait, we went in to an almost completely empty lounge (surprising, since we were told that we couldnt go as there was no room). The lounge itself is very clean and nice. There wasnt much in the way of food but that could be because they reopened only 2 days prior.
Said they were at capacity for Priority Pass but were not allowing any members to go inside on a 1 in - 1 out basis. We were told capacity was limited due to Covid even though we are in an international terminal where all must be vaccinated to fly and everyone is wearing a mask. This seemed like an excuse instead of a valid explanation. We pay a lot for this privilege and the experience is disappointing.
Dont think they are going to let you in if you are priority pass. They told us they were at capacity when they were accepting first class and people that were paying $50. For some reason they treat you really rude as soon as you tell them that you are priority pass. I honestly dont know why theyre treating people with such a disrespect.
Didnt know I can write a review here. It was a while back when I gave up my air tic for a later flight (7 hours), I was honored a lounge stay. When I got there a guy made me wait for 15 mins then another person came to me saying I was not allowed because I want a member. I spent another 10 mins to explain and went back and forth to the counter and still got denied. Please, such POS.
One of the lounge options provided with priority pass. First impressions were that the seating options were good. We found seats facing the tarmac and they even had a foot rest. There were plenty of seats still open even though many people (50+) were using the lounge. Like many mentioned food options are limited (simply snacks, finger food such as chips, some soups and maybe a salad here or there). Overall though, a nice relaxing experience before heading to the gate for our flight.
Nothing gluten-free (I asked). Shouldnt be hard to have some gluten free bread or corn flakes or rice crackers given that $50 is the day pass cost if you dont have access through other memberships. There was a banana. So I guess I went to the lounge to eat a banana. It was a great banana.
Despite the slick new interior and promises of an espressso bar, during our two hour stay we were only able to obtain a single beer, a few cookies, and remnants of a salad (and not a single espresso).A sign out front said that the lounge was at capacity and not accepting Priority Pass (it’s the only PP club in this terminal), but inside it was at about 10% capacity, maybe 15 people. In this 2 hour period in the later afternoon, there was one, single, employee, working the entire time!!! Numerous times we asked if we could get an espresso and we were told to use the “fancy Starbucks machine”. The machine was broken the entire 2 hours. The bar was unmanned, we were only able to get a single beer, and the food was replaced just as we were leaving after nearly 2 hours. Maybe this is growing pains by why the hell would you spend all that money on a lounge and then not hire any people to work there? The woman was very nice and apologetic but that doesn’t make up for it.We don’t normally fly Alaska, and probably won’t in the future. Funny considering the food in business class was actually phenomenal...
Easy to get into with priority pass and an Alaska boarding pass, and right by security so you don’t have to hunt around for it or walk way to some gate you don’t need to be by. The self-serve espresso machine is down, so the person at the food-to-order stand is making espresso drinks. They’re okay, rather bitter coffee but strong. There’s also mass-brewed Starbucks. Decent tea offerings, teavana I think. Limited but adequate breakfast offerings of a pancake maker, scones and such, frozen factory-type bagels, yogurt, and some pre-ripe fruit. They’ll make more substantial breakfast food to order for additional payment. Plenty of seating for an early morning flight, and comfortable seating, with a mix of couches and big comfy 3-sided chairs, as well as tables with mid-century modern dining chairs. The staff is friendly. There’s WiFi. There’s a sign that says free access to the nytimes online while in their WiFi. Not the best lounge ever, but comfy and quiet, at least in the morning, and far better than nothing.
I have visited many airport lounges worldwide yet never have I been met with the appalling behaviour of the staff at the entrance to the Alaska Lounge, JFK Airport. In particular, the ‘gentleman’ on duty on 2/25/20 at around 7pm. However, judging by most of the reviews on here, I really don’t think we missed out too much! His arrogance was disgraceful and sadly leaves us with an extremely low opinion of American hospitality. He could not have been less helpful or accommodating if he tried.
I came early that my friend, was waiting for him about an hour until 6:30am. It was about 15 people in the lounge and when he came, a register guy told him that lounge is full of people and theres NO SPACE FOR HIM. I went to meet my friend and asked the register guy about capacity of the lounge. Only after that he let him go inside the lounge.SMH
Agent was late and rude, arrived at 5:15am. Without apologizing and no greetings, while there was a line of people waiting. Took him more than 5 minutes to boost his machine to check people in. The lounge supposed to be open at 5am. People couldnt get in until 5:25. Ridiculous and unprofessional!
I used this lounge only me(card holder)!!But,They claim card holder+2people to credit company!!Thats why credit card company asked me pay 50USD(for 2people)!!I showed my receipt(written as only card holder) to credit card company!!They are crazy!!U have to keep receipt for 4month!!I hope share this experience to all of user!!
It was a good flight, spacious.. You will get to recharge your phone in the flight, thats great.only drawback is you have to pay for the checked in baggage in domestic flights.. I liked the Alaska lounge the most .. very nicely done.. neat and tidy and spacious restrooms.. there is dunkin donuts .. you can buy foods of your choice and enjoy while waiting for flight.light..
Lots of bright sun space, very calmAmbiance. THey really told true to the “2 hours” before your flight which no other lounge had ever stopped me before for that. So little frustrating given how long my layover was before my flight to Spain. The food wasn’t bad not a true entree of hot foods and the cappuccino machine was down for mostOfThe time I was there. Bartender was in and out also the bar isn’t self served. Would I make the trip out of my terminal for it again? Maybe not. Unless the food was upgraded I’d treat this as any other lounge with a more pleasant view and space for stretching out. 3-4/5.
Theres a huge line to enter and once you get to the front desk after 30 min of being in the queue, they tell you that you have to join a waitlist. Ugh - A joke! I made it out of the waitlist after 1 hour wait but I was already onboarding...Someone that was coming from the lounge said they didnt even have water.
It was from 5 to 6 in the morning, so it wasnt so crowded and I was able to relax. There was also a coffee bar, but there was no staff, so I enjoyed myself on a Starbucks machine.By the way, this machine also has hot chocolate on the menu, but what came out was a mysterious white liquid.
Worst Lounge! We came in around 7:30 p.m. with a priority pass, which worked out well. However, there is a note in the entrance area that says Priority Pass guests can only come in if there is enough space. I.e. there is a waiting list if you want to come with prio pas rei. We were lucky, the lounge was almost empty.30 minutes later, at 8 p.m. sharp, they closed the lounge. Now we understand why it was empty. The buffet was almost empty, only leftovers. We had just provided our little table with drinks and leftover snacks (chips/bread & guacacole and a cheese dip) and unfortunately had to leave immediately. At 8 p.m. sharp, a lounge employee stood there and asked us to leave. Seriously?? That was a really horrible experience. She was also quite rude and impatient. We left almost everything there, quickly drank the Prosecco on X, packed chips in their own plastic bag and off we went. The selection of snacks and drinks was really bad. There were mini carrots, bread, chips and a few dips like guacamole and a cheese dip. However, you have to pay for many drinks yourself, so there are only a few that are free. Water, beer, prosecco and 2 house wines are free.
Its the worst vip room Ive ever been to in my life! Starting at the front desk, a grumpy and impolite attendant. Inside the room, other rude attendants, had a moment when an attendant named Charles began shouting at someone who had left a glass and a plate on the table (there was no indication saying otherwise). An unpleasant experience and totally contrary to what is intended or should be: lounge vip. ZERO note!
The worst VIP room Ive seen in my life, and Ive seen many, just meals (just cookies and salad), just drinks, scarce staff that appears and disappears, you cant serve yourself coffee or drinks and you have to wait for someone Deign to appear there. It has no screens where you can see the flights, that is, to know if your flight is delayed you have to leave the room and then to enter again to give explanations. The VIP room is large ... rather rest room .
The place is nice, the modern setting with different types of spaces to wait or rest. There is service that removes what is used. The lighting is very good. But the food supply is very poor and limited, some vegetables very basic to put together salad. Some cookies and only one type of bread. There is no type of cold cuts or cheese or sandwiches. There is only cold milk. There is no microwave to heat. There is a bar with alcoholic drinks. The coffee is good. The bathroom very well.

2022-05-24Clean, bright, modern, comfortable, lots of seating, work spaces, and outlets. Food well displayed, fresh, plenty of choices. Enjoyed a great salad bar. Courteous and efficient staff. Appreciated the availability of a gender neutral bathroom. Had been difficult to find elsewhere in NYC.

2022-07-03Already a waitlist at 8am due to capacity issues. No sign of how busy it really was in the lounge, but I was #5 in the virtual queue at 8am. Also, if you’re using priority pass, you cannot use it if you are more than 2 hours before your flight. Even if you’re in the waitlist ahead of others, if their flight departure is less than 2 hours away they will get in ahead of you. I noticed this issue after a few parties that arrived after me were called in. The host then informed me of this restriction on priority pass. 👎👎

2022-03-19One of the better and spacious lounges (domestic USA airport terminals) offered via priority pass. And good salad and coffee options. Local beers too at the bar, which is cool. For a request to change the channel on the tv, one staff didn’t know how to and was complacent with not knowing, and also wouldn’t inquire with other staff until asked to do so. And the other staff refused, saying “they don’t let us change the channels.” Meanwhile, the remote sits on shelf right below the tv behind the bar. There’s no enthusiasm for any part of the job done by staff here, you’ll have to find a staff member and chase them down to request arrive for the bar. But they’ll be right there if you’re discovered to not wearing a mask in the right spot.If I weren’t getting into this lounge for free or if it didn’t provide good cold beers, I’d instead arrive closer to departure time and skip this place.Oh, and again, don’t forget your mask when you stand up out of your chair. They’ll give you attention right away for that!2 stars instead of 1, because of short staffing excuse.

2021-10-21Nice, well maintained lounge. Loved the entrance, so inviting and open. Place is designed very nicely. Plenty of seats available. Food was basic. I enjoyed my Starbucks coffee here.

2022-02-28Staff was 5 star... very friendly and helpful. Facility is clean and relaxing. Ive never been to a lounge where you have to pay for (most of) the hot food. I feel sorry for anyone who paid for a day pass. No complementary HOT vegetarian options. Sad times. But then happy times because free bourbon.

2022-04-24I find it surprising so many negative low star reviews as this lounge compared to many others across the nation is very nice. It is small and yes options are limited due to that but service and cleanliness is spot on. The espresso bar is a good touch

2022-02-19It is smaller than the one in SeaTac airport. Food options are limited. Seating is also limited. Lounge could be cleaner. Restroom was not clean. They accept priority pass.

2021-12-02Nice interior setup, not the best service. It closes at 8pm and they pulled all the food and drinks at 6:45. I watched many people come in bewildered at empty food tables. Dirty dishes sat all around me on tables for almost 2 hours. Plenty of staff members, busy with their phones though. On the upside, didn’t have to sit in the terminal.

2021-09-16Men’s room is very clean. Compared to other lounges during COVID period, at least they provided the espresso machine. I was able to make the cappuccino (Starbucks beans) and grab a quick bite before my flight (less than 10 minutes before boarding)! On my 2nd transcontinental trip two weeks ago (9/3/2021), I was able to use the lounge with the United Business ticket without the Priority Pass.

2021-09-01Nice new looking lounge I had access to via priority pass. Breakfast had options I liked; oatmeal with toppings. Coffee was also very high quality. Bathrooms were clean and staff was helpful.
