I just wanted to say thanks to the person who helped me catch my connection flight after 2hrs on immigration and customs. We got to the gate like 7 mins before departure, and without this individual (who even pushed back on people not letting us in...) I would pretty much have my plans screwed. If you see people going above and beyond like this, it is a clear example that the company encourages them to do so.Thank you very much!
Very decent Airlines but I think they did a mis-step by buying Virgin America Airlines. The Crown Jewel is Virgin Atlantics Routes. But I hope their customer service and their small company feel doesnt wear off when they start bleeding money. My daughter swears by them from Seattle. Lets hope they last. They have a very small terminal in JFK.Important Flyer info: *********Alaska will have or will be going to move its Kennedy operations from Terminal 8 to Terminal 7, while Virgin America will move from Terminal 4 to Terminal 7.
Huge, major airport, and it could easily be confusing and overwhelming. But its well desgned (considering how large it is). And my husband always comments on how (relatively) easy it is to drive around. The signage for the various airlines is clear and color coded. And most recently we dropped friends off at JFK for a flight on Alaska Air. They said security was easy-peasy and the terminal was right behind security. 👍👍My friends also commented on the great deals they get thru this airline, for trips to and from Washington state! They have been successfully expanding their routes!
Alaska Air, please check these declared hours for baggage support at this location. Supposedly open daily 5am-9am, 3pm-5pm and 10pm-12pm? Nope, not a soul from Alaska is here. Are you sure those hours are Eastern?Weve been here since 5:40am and it wasnt until half an hour later that we found anyone to talk to.
One of the best airlines I. have had the pleasure to fly on 😉JFK to Seattle and then on to Anchorage, cleanest of both l airplanes excellent ,on board service outstanding and crew.On my return flights from Anchorage to JFK the same can be said. All said long flights made it a safe and was a pleasure to fly on Alaska Air
My husband and I were dropping off our 13 yr old daughter with 3 other teens. It was for a Leadership Course -for over a week. I was a nervous wreck with her flying cross country without me, as it was her first time flying without me. I honestly can’t say enough about Alaska Airlines. I never write reviews...ever but felt compelled to do so. Right from the start, the ladies at check in accommodated ALL of the children so they could sit together and made the parents feel so comfortable. They were so pleasant and customer service skills were top notch. They waived the U.M fee because someone in the group was old enough. So none of the other parents had to pay a dime. The older child, was still able to be walked all the way to the gate by his parents so they could see him off and say their good-byes, thanks again to the amazing staff at Alaska Airlines. Because originally they could not and the mom was upset.Next we get to the gate and they call the kids FIRST...by name to board before anyone else. They got to meet the pilot, take photos with him, they were given wings, and headphones and iPads for free to use for their long flight. The kids had such an amazing experience thanks to ALL the staff. That’s all you want, as a parent is to have your children be treated as you would treat them when you’re not able to be with them to make them comfortable and happy. The Alaska Airlines crew, from start to finish were amazing and I left the airport that day with tears of happiness because I knew all of our children were in good hands.I will always make Alaska Airlines my first choice when we travel from now on.Thank You Alaska Airlines for creating the Ultimate Customer Service Experience!
Alaska Air flies out of an international terminal in Terminal 7. We have only flown with them a couple of times since their acquisition of Virgin America and move to Terminal 7. The terminal has improved from the first time to the second. The food is edible and the coffee does the job. There is a nursing room and family restroom for those traveling with children.
The workers here are unprofessional. They are under paid and miserable!! They didn’t even look at you when you asking them for assistance. They on their phones. They all should get fire !! This airline is the WORST airline. 90% you will get delay for 2-3 hrs. EVERY TIME !! DO NOT FLY WITH THIS AIRLINE.
Horrible experience. They screwed up my baggage (it never arrived at JFK) and the communication process afterwards was just completely awful. I made several phone calls multiple times to both the central baggage office and the local office and JFK but they just kicked me around and made me hold for a long time. I never got to spoke with an actual person about my situation. They say they will update you and all that but thats just a straight up lie. I am strongly dissapointed by their poor performance and would not recommend Alaska Airlines to anyone who wishes to have a good flight experience with all the luggage with them and not lost randomly somewhere along the way.
The Alaskan lounge is very selective if you upgraded to first class or have priority pass. Plus their representative is rude so reminder to not fly Alaska. Bar downstairs however is a good safe haven for a grumpy travelerTheir bloody Mary mix is pretty good so have them make you a michelada as it gets stuffy in this terminal for some reason.
THE worst experience ever. All the stffs are so shady, they are so RUDE!!! I can’t believe how they treat you like criminals. My flight got canceled and i had to transfer to other flight, they didn’t announce what’s going on and they even lost my bag, they kept yelling at me. Wow, I picked Virginia America not jet blue bacause of the reputations but it was the worst mistake. I had to stay at this airport for 9hrs. I just wanna be out of here.
A lot of people say that JFK is a bit of a mess and is in disrepair. But my experience was to the contrary, and was a good experience with comfy seating and a far better look and feel than Gatwick.I would not recommend any airport, but JFK is one of the better ones with a very good airtrain link to the city.
The outside looks good, they have spent a lot of money to make JFK look good, however the inside still is dirty and run down. Escalators are filthy. Bathrooms are still using old equipment. The hand drivers are old and have little to no force, and there are no paper towels to use instead. The interior needs to be updated to accommodate the digital age. Two outlets which are part of a pillar and one on a floor outlet, which a bank of seats is on top of and had to be moved to access. The seating area at gate 12 is cramped.Bring your battery backup!! Fly into somewhere else if possible.
End of an era now that Virgin is officially becoming Alaska. Not sure when it’ll disappear completely. Also not sure why they fly domestic out of JFK Terminal 7. It’s a tiny terminal that feels temporary, but the small size probably means security gets less gnarly, it certainly is on the tuesday morning I’m flying. They don’t even have a global entry line it’s so small, although having precheck means one needn’t remove one’s shoes, so that’s a nice perk. The security line is super inefficient but again there are few enough people that it works out. Virgin America generally is hands down my favorite airline from flight experience all the through to frequent flyer program, and I haven’t decided yet whether I want to try Alaska, especially since I’m not seeing that their prices are anywhere near virgin’s which were somehow often among the best priced. Anyway, terminal 7, no boutique food options that I’ve seen, not a ton of bathrooms, there’s a BA lounge. It’s quick and easy to get around, I think there are only about 10 gates.
I am a small business owner in the business of seafood and I rely on a reliable airline for the import and export of my products. As a returning client to alsaska alirlines, I was most impressed with the incredible helpfulness and kindness of their staff. In particular, Adaiah Fyffe Solo is amazing! He was so helpful and it is the customer service provided by individuals like him that create lasting relations and business loyalty. Thank you so much Adaiah. Writing a review such as this is a small act in the larger scheme of your help to me, but your dedication to providing the best experience to customers, I believe, should not go unacknowledged!
Virgin Airlines is alright but they leave late. 4:55 flight didnt leave until 6:15 and eight people had to get off because the plane had to use a lot of fuel. The best part is the leg room and the fact that there are AC Charging Ports not just USB. The second best part is the 24 channel basic cable which keeps you entertained as well as the fact that Water and Coca Cola are free and you can order them from your seat. Make sure to download movies, videos and tv because GOGO Wi-Fi doesnt work with streaming and it doesnt work for free. The prices are too high 😐. Probably the biggest drawback is this, Paid Wi-Fi.
Why is the Alaska Airline lounge close in 7:30 when they participate in priority pass that line of customers are flying to Ukraine air which their flights leave much later basically making it ineffective partnership with priority pass and wondering why American Express would even allow this, so if you have a flight leaving in the afternoon after 7:30 you have nowhere to you use your priority pass
We approached the baggage stand when the people who were supposed to work were told to use the terminals instead of soliciting them. Once our luggage tags OK we went to see them again and they told us to wait next door. We could see them chatting and laughing for 10 minutes before someone came to help us, and told us to go back to see them because it was up to them to take our luggage.Super print Alaska airlines!
Actually I did not bole they were familiar but they do not recommend it much, the original tickets were direct and in the end, due to the imposition of the airline, they made them make a stopover, I understand the problem of the pandemic but they warn you at the moment they do not give you time or options

2022-01-18Alaska is now part of the Oneworld Alliance, partnered with American Airlines, so I flew from JFK—SEA on a Friday morning 737-900 using miles in comparative LUXURY. Compared, of course, to the grim and ever-shrinking internment of AAs long-haul coach class. The pleasant lighting, cushy seats, big windows, fast free WiFi, adjustable headrests, roomy restroom, and outlets at every single seat (!!) were all a little shocking to someone used to the screw you! style of Americans main cabin. Even the APP is amazing, giving you easy and affordable options for changing your flight and upgrading your seat. Outrageously great experience, cant recommend it enough.

2021-03-12Always friendly staff, flight attendants, & pilots! Surprise upgrades from economy class. Got to experience 1st class! Mimosas prior to flight take off 😋😝😝 Hot meals with cute penguin salt/pepper shaker! Greek yogurt with granola bits was delicious but would have loved more! 🙃 Internet is top notch! Watched Netflix the entire flight! Got a surprised free inflight internet coupon so it was FREE! 😅 Inflight unlimited snacks were like “OMG! They’re pampering me!” Salad for lunch is too healthy. Should have asked for Chicken & Mashed Potatoes! 🤦🏻♂️JFK lounge was nice pre-pandemic. Lots of charging stations. Starbucks coffee & tea.

2022-06-18I gotta give a special award to Alaska Air JFk.On my inbound flight I left my tablet inn the seat back pocket. When 8 went back for my outbound flight I spoke to an airline rep about my item. They had found it and brought it to gate. Awesome customer experience!

2022-06-04Airlines lounges seem to put less than minimum efforts these days. Blaming everything on Covid. Good views. Nice enough space. Food 1 star.

2022-06-09Alaska Airlines employees don’t know what they are doing we are now having to board the plane 12 minutes late. There is no Organization at the gate at all. The terminal is super small. The half of the stores are closed. And there is not enough sitting at ALL. This is the worst airport I have ever been too and will not fly this airline again.

2022-04-26The Alaska airline lounge is very noisy. One employee is very inconsiderate when re-stocking.She slams dishes, drops the dishes in pans making loud noises. The tables and chairs are drug across the floor waking people when resting. She has waist long hair which is not pulled back and is not kept. Needs re-training and supervision.

2022-06-15Delays. The airline forgot to pick up the pilots from their hotel. The stewardesses seemed burdened. Not friendly and welcoming. Airplane very comfortable.
