Albany Med EmUrgentCare in other cities:
A loved walked into Albany Coxsackie Urgent care with chest pain, and pain down left arm was told to wait, waited 20 mins before being seen by anyone for chest pain because it was not severe enough to be taking back by anyone to be evaluated! I called, and spoke with receptionist, and she stated “it’s by patient walk in” so if your thinking your having a HEART ATTACK DON’T GO there they will room a cold before you!
They advised that I would owe co insurance for my exam to get covid test I told them they should be processing claim first they forced me to pay or would not see my husband. My insurance pays all visits for covid in full no deductible no co insurance wonder how long it takes to get my money back in reporting to my insurance as they did not follow their contract
Though I’ve always had a good experience at this location, I absolutely do not like the fact that the older woman behind the desk either never has a mask on or it’s hanging off of her face. With covid going on this is not ok at all. Everyone should be taking all precautions, not just the staff in the back. Most importantly the ones in the front!
Do not go here for a DOT physical. I went there for a DOT physical and was told that the long form was going to be sent to my company. Two weeks later, I got a call from my employer saying he hadnt got the physical and was going to have to drop me. I went back to emergent care to get the long form. After initially being declined, even though I had paid, they finally gave me a copy. Now, while getting files ready for audit, three of our companies physicals from emergent care do not have the original and are therefore not allowed. Company has now had to call and get the originals. But, they have been scanned into computer and shredded. They are going to recreate them (3 in total) and mail them to the drivers and we must fill out and sign them and then give them to the company. This place does not know the law and will get you in trouble.
DID NOT ASSIGN A DOCTOR. Did not listen to patient concerns nor take into consideration past medical issues, like they were following a script - since she was not a doctor I guess she had no other choice. But had to go elsewhere to get antibiotics. All she could offer is to gargle with salt water and over the counter tylenol. Very unprofessional, may file a claim with my health care as they didnt do anything.
Went to the EmUrgentCare was not feeling well sore throat , fever, and walked in the door, they had me fill out forms and then informed me they no longer take medicare? What is up with that? I thought this was suppose to be a place so you would not have to go to the er..not cool at all
Tested me for lyme and said didnt have lyme disease, got retested by another doctor.Test results came back positive,3 weeks go by and urgent care calls and says they never recieved the results from my first blood test after they told me i didnt have lyme disease...place is a joke....

2022-06-27If I could give zero stars I would. When we arrived I was told it would be a wait. No problem we waited in our car for an hour and a half. We get called back in to the room, and this PA couldn’t be bothered to give my daughter an actual assessment. Just said it was a virus, thankfully my mom gut instincts were to bring her somewhere else. As she has a swollen ear drum that is bright red, and is being treated for possible pneumonia. While understandable you are trying to see as many patients as possible as you are busy, it’s very unethical to rush the patient setting in front of you out of the room and on to the next patient. We will no longer be utilizing this facility and it’s other locations in the area. 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND!

2022-05-23I went there very recently for what I thought was probably a Jaw and Tooth infection. When I arrived the receptionist warned they are short on staff and there would be a wait (I had no problem waiting). But I basically got a strep test which was negative and told there is nothing we can do go to ER. But I felt that was basically a way of them to get me out the door because they were short staffed .The ER doctors were SHOCKED I didnt receive and antibiotic as if I was I may have been able to wait for my dentist. As a result I had to stay in the hospital for the night when if I was given antibiotics I may have been able to see the dentist instead. Incompetent staff Avoid this place at all costs.

2021-10-25I went there thinking I had a uti. I was sure it was a easy visit. The doctor was pleasant. The front secretary was extremely unprofessional. Eating her dinner at the front desk. Complaining to the patients about how busy and overwhelmed she was.I never did get my results for the testing, I did call, they said they weren’t available yet, but never got them. I’m still receiving the bills though.

2021-11-13The receptionist was very rude, she tried telling me that I couldn’t get a covid test because it’s not a community testing site. That I wasn’t allowed to get tested if I didn’t have symptoms. When the department of health tells you to go get tested you go get tested. The rest of the employees were amazing!

2021-08-28Pains me to leave a negative review, but I feel compelled to do so in the interest of public safety.Took my 16 month old daughter (w/ congenital urologic issues) here out of concern for a UTI while on my vacation- which in her is extremely high risk. They do not separate out confirmed COVID-19 patients or PUI (persons under investigation - ie people with respiratory complaints) out in their waiting area. Someone without their mask on was coughing right next to my unvaccinated, unmasked 16 month old (too young to do either of those things) and WE had to be the ones to ask this individual to wear their mask. Front staff was unable to enforce any of the rules. There was a confirmed COVID-19 patient also in the area- thankfully wearing a mask. We ultimately felt so uncomfortable that we waited outside as much as possible.I have been trying to work with Greene County NY Dept of Public Health and this facility for four days now trying to determine if what we had was a confirmed COVID exposure, and each keeps punting to this task to the other organization. I work at a hospital out-of-state, and we typically inform patients when they’ve been exposed to COVID.Extra star for Dennis (medical assistant),who made my daughter a balloon and was extremely kind to her, and the PA we saw (great bedside manner!). My daughter LOVES the balloon, and it was the only positive thing to have come from this experience.FYI- the facility’s XRay machine is down and they are unable to perform catheterized urinary specimens should either of those things apply to you.

2021-06-03Very friendly staff. The doctor Koife was amazing. Made us feel better and helped my son with his wound and the way he made him feel that he would take care of him. Definitely recommend this urgent care!!!!

2021-09-29Concerning… Suspected CoVid patients are not cohorted. I held my insurance card up and the receptionist tried to take it. I asked if she was sure. (My library doesn’t even touch my card.) She gave a giggle and said they don’t take my insurance (BlueCross) She looked at the back of the card and said, “Yeah this is from Virginia, we don’t take this, you’ll need to pay out of pocket…. As an FYI: I’m not from Virginia, I’m here in New York. The insurance’s billing headquarters is in Virginia. That’s not how you check someone’s insurance. No hand hygiene stations by the door…I left… if you don’t have CoVid, you can pick it up here.

2020-08-04Visiting for the week, and my 20 month old toddler was sick. A bit of a wait when we got there (each minute feels like ten with cranky toddler) but once we were seen, the staff was attentive, courteous and efficient. Doctor had a great bedside manner with my son and despite some routine symptoms, ordered an extra test. Most tests are farmed out to LabCorp which was an extra stop, but glad we did it since Albany Med called us back in a few days with a much more specific and helpful diagnosis due to those test results. All in all I found this a professional and thorough practice, despite some minor inconveniences.

2020-11-10The staff is pleasant and courteous but as I am sitting there, multiple people with COVID symptoms entered the waiting room, one after having been knowingly exposed to a COVID-positive person. These people were not asked to separate themselves, but in fact were within fewer than six feet from others, allowed to walk around the waiting room, and loiter in the doorway, leaving no way to exit without coming within a foot from them. It feels like it should go without saying that this shouldn’t be happening and I felt very uncomfortable there and like proper precautions were not taken

2021-02-28Very friendly staff, they work fast to help everyone. My bfs mom was getting seen and it became closing time and they ladies behind the desk sat with us for well over 20 minutes waiting for our ride. Id give more stars if possible.
