Dr Mouzakes removed all three of my sons tonsils and adenoids. My oldest son’s surgery was 15 years ago and the youngest was this past January. Over the 15+ years my boys have been patients of his, I have never been disappointed! My children love his fun personality and I appreciate his knowledge and genuine concern for his patients!!!!

Dr. Mouzakes was the kindest doctor I have ever met. He also has an excellent reputation as a Pediatric Pulmonary Specialist. He came in even though he was not on call to care for my 1 year old grandson who had aspirated peanuts into his lung. I felt so at ease after he spoke to us, and would highly recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Mouzakes just performed surgery on my son last week. In our initial exam with him as well as the morning of surgery, he was nothing but kind, professional, caring, easy to talk to and clearly very knowledgeable and confident in his skills as a surgeon. I cannot speak highly enough about him! My son had something called a thyroglossal duct cyst in his neck and we were actually referred to Dr. Mouzakes by a competing ENT, as the other doctor felt that Dr M. Was most equipped to handle our specific situation. I am extremely grateful to him and so glad to say my son is recovering and doing extremely well!

Our son has had a mild/ to severe hearing loss in his left ear. Dr. Mouzakes has worked with our son for 10 years. He has been extremely knowledgeable, informative, caring, and personable while working with our family to resolve our sons hearing issues. I would highly recommend Dr. Mouzakes to anyone.

We had a good experience when we were dealing with surgery, but now that we need follow up we can’t get an appointment. My son has permanent tubes which his pediatrician doesn’t want to deal with when he has drainage issues and told me to take him back to the ENT that places the tubes. I called this office to schedule an appointment because now the drainage smells and they tell me because he hasn’t been there in a while that they will have to schedule him as a new patient and he won’t be able to get in until January. You’re going to make a kid suffer with a smelly, potential infection for 2 or 3 months?!?! You put the tubes in but don’t want to be responsible for the follow up care? Horrible!

Outstanding bedside manner, incredibly friendly and flexible. He made what was going to be a stressful tonsillectomy for my autistic son, into a quick, happy-go-lucky special trip into outer space, easing fears and stress for us all. I wouldnt take my son to see anyone else.

Screamed at us-1st visit with Dr.Mouzakes was pleasant. my sons tonsils need removal we needed to have a sleep study done to prove to our insurance company that my son was having trouble breathing&sleeping. I said ok and asked if he happened to know the cost for the sleep study or if I needed to go ask someone in billing. He replied by saying “oh no, it wont cost you a thing because your insurance requires this in order to pay for the surgery, we will make sure it doesn’t cost you anything!” I was surprised that he said that and I said we have pretty bad insurance and I just wanted to make sure I knew the cost and he reassured me.As a mom to a fairly young son and because we are a prior military family ( my husband served 9 years in the United States Marine Corps) we haven’t had many tests or surgeries in the civilian world so I am still learning how this all works. After the study much to my surprise I received a 3,500$ bill. I was shocked because we hadn’t expected that. I knew then that I shouldn’t have asked a doctor about the financial cost of anything since that usually isn’t something they are too familiar with. He was wrong and this sleep study was going to cost us a huge amount of money that we had not planned for, it’s a hard lesson learned and now I know better.Today I went for the follow up and Dr. Mouzakes was pleasant. He told me a few things from my sons sleep study and that he could get his tonsils taken out. was nice to my son and talked to him.I then reminded him of what he said last appointment about how our insurance would cover the sleep study and he said “didn’t your insurance cover it?” I said no. He said that he doesn’t know about my insurance and he doesn’t deal with that. I calmly told him that I figured that much and that we are a prior military family and haven’t dealt with this much and that we now know not to ask a doctor financial questions. I calmly told him that he probably shouldn’t tell a patient what their financial responsibility will be if he doesn’t actually know. I couldnt speak because he kept cutting me off, interrupting me, and shouting that he doesn’t know insurance. I kept asking him to let me finish my point and that once I got it out I would be finished and he could say what he needed to. This is not what happened. Instead of Dr Mouzakes having a calm adult conversation with me where I simply asked him to not give patients wrong financial information he screamed and yelled at me. He SCREAMED that he didn’t know about insurance, that he doesn’t know the cost of the sleep study, he also yelled “oh, you wouldn’t have had the sleep study if you knew the cost?” to which I replied “We would have had it but we would have waited a couple months and saved up the money for it” he yelled “Get out! Get out of my office!” He POINTED at my sweet 6 year-old son and screamed “TAKE YOUR KID AND GET OUT OF HERE” “GET OUT OF MY OFFICE” Meanwhile my 3 year old was sitting right next to me probably terrified and my 9 month old was sitting on my lap while this grown man stood over us yelling. At that point I had had it and was in shock. I had never demanded anything from him and I had never been rude or yelled at him. I had no clue what had made him so angry that he was yelling at my children and I. I told him that he could leave my office room until the kids and I were packed up and he screamed at me “ YOUR OFFICE? YOUR OFFICE? I WORK HERE THIS IS MY OFFICE” to which I replied “No, I paid for this visit so right now this is my office, and I will be sure to write a review of my experience with you today” He screamed “I’LL WRITE A REVIEW OF YOU” and then he stormed off down the hall. My 3 year old said “mommy can we leave now” in a sad voice and I gathered up my children and we left as fast as we could. He could have simply said he was sorry about the bill and to let him know if we wanted to do the surgery, instead he scared my children, he scared me, and he made Albany Med look bad.It was Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde in real life. He completely transformed into a scary screaming monster.
