I was a patient at LICR in hampton bays (11946), first as an outpatient, but my counselor made a deal with the director to give me a discount to detox from suboxone for 7 days since i was paying out of pocket. We paid $1400 up front and I only stayed there for 3 days. I have many complaints about that institution including, but not limited to:1. The nurse (Maria) told me that the bloodwork would be cheap and only cost me $200. I received a $600 bill in the mail for my bloodwork that I am not stuck paying for2. When asking the men that run the cashiers office if I check out earlier than planned, if I could have a refund, they said yes which is not the case. It does however say on the very bottom of your receipt that you cannot get a refund before 7 days of checking out. I should have read those terms, but they also should have explained that to me as well.3. I checked in with Nuero Water which is basically vitamin water, some that include vitamin D which is imperative when detoxing, and melatonin. They allowed me to check in with it, but when my fiance brought me more, they confiscated it claiming they didnt know what it was--its bought at king kullen in the soda isle! I agreed to stay until the doctor approved it but the next morning when the morning nurse found out what happened, she denied me my detox medication until the doctor came into work (they didnt know when he would get there, and not to mention that he is around 80 years old and almost senile-I KNEW MORE MEDICAL TERMS THAN HE DID!)4. The patients were having sex and smuggling contraband into the facilities. the faculty was aware of this, but did nothing about it.5. After checking out and receiving my bloodwork bill, I called Linda to discuss my problem and she was EXTREMELY rude and condescending. However, she is not the only staff member there who I found to be on a power trip and treated us like dirt although their pamphlet says that they do not discriminate against anybody.6. I was told that while i was there, I would be able to detox and relax. It was completely the opposite of that. I feel I was brought there under many false pretenses.I am going to continue to go to great lengths to have my voice heard about how horrible this facility is and advise other addicts to go somewhere else for treatment. Like i stated, I was only there to detox off of suboxone, but for the first time in years I had cravings for heroin just from being at LICR. It is a very stressful and unhealthy environment and their methods for treatment are unhelpful and basically just a waste of time and money.
