ALDI in other cities:
I was just there and I honestly don’t shop there often, I disagree on the selections being good. It looks pretty picked through kind of store and I don’t mind looking for some items but the cashier should really acknowledge the customer especially when the customer greets her! And still no response, she cared more about talking to her co worker. Very disappointing. Being in the customer / retail business I would never treat my customers that way!
They wont have everything you want every time, but its clean, staff is fast, friendly and courteous. Healthy products at reasonable prices. Only reason I didnt give it five stars is staff is too busy or polite to enforce proper mask wearing by customers. Last visit two people with masks under their chins, two with noses exposed.Terrifying!
Been shopping there since they opened and thank god lidl opened. This store is a joke. They never have things they advertise and I waste my time driving there only to find empty shelves consistently. No sauce, no pasta, empty freezer bins. It really irks me aldi finds does not exist there. New staff every week, one cashier with a long line. Its dirty looking like an old outdated store and its relatively new. They have very small quantities of items and keep stuff hidden in storage in the back instead of putting it out on the floor. They dont mark down items close to expiring like they are supposed to.The new lidl is so much nicer and well stocked. At least my time wont be wasted going there.
The cashier was rude and threw all my food in the cart; when I requested to be gentle with my food her excuse was I have been doing this for years I bought eggs, strawberries, oranges, bread, and grapes, all these food once bruised I wont taste the same, and who eats broken eggs?Oh, she pulled the cart, and my 97 Years Old father was holding on to it. I told her to be careful that he is holding on it. She doesnt have patience and she just wants to rush to the next customer. Her name is Donna.:(Teresa
No they don’t have major brands or a deli counter, but they have quality foods at great prices. Since we started doing the majority of our food shopping there, our grocery bills have gone down significantly. Would you rather buy brand name granola bars for $3.75 or more or go to Aldi to buy equally good tasting bars for less than $2.00? Same with cereal, canned goods, bread, etc.
Great for all dairy products and most other items as well. Dont look for too many known brands, however, as the definitely lean towards house brands. For the most part, their brands are just as good, but not always. They do have a more limited selection than a regular supermarket.
Id be down to go into a meeting food is inexpensive at this grocery store I do enjoy making purchases eggs or less than a dollar I took sales all the time very cheap fruits and vegetables of very cheap very fresh since very nice store in the bread is very fresh I love this store
The good: the prices. Like their sister (brother?) store Trader Joes, their private label items are competitively priced and their quality is reliable. Great for staples like milk and eggs. The bad: ONE motorized cart for the entire store and no outlet at the front of the store to plug it in! It was dead by 1pm one day and the employee just said Oh well, thats the only one we got and that was it. Unacceptable. I was unable to walk well enough to do my shopping, so I left. There needs to be an outlet at the front of the store to plug it in between uses so its there for the people who need it, period. Otherwise why have one at all?The store is also a signal dead zone; good luck getting cell service in the store to see if you need to pick up milk before you go home!Staff is hit-or-miss; sometimes theyre knowledgeable and helpful, sometimes they shrug and say I guess were out of it. Yeah, thanks. One cashier flung my stuff through the scanner and to the end like he was on Supermarket Sweep, even though no one was behind me on the line. Whats the rush?If low prices are your priority, this place is great. If you dont care about name brands, this place is great. If you care about customer service, this place is middling.
Accidentally arrived at 0858, 2 minutes before opening. The doors were open so me and a couple other people wandered into the store. The manager charged out at us yelling that theyre not open yet, yelling Jesus Christ, whats wrong with you people, were not open yet. We have 3 more minutes, and ranting while giving us dirty looks and making a shooing gesture with his hands like we were a bunch of stray cats that wandered in. After he chased us out he slammed and locked the door shaking his head. Really? Thats how you treat customers? I get it, you cant have people in when store is closed, but you need to be a belligerent animal about it? How about just asking. A minute later I went into the store for the fist time. How is this place getting good ratings? Its a mess. Its tiny. There are about 6 aisles of random dry goods, and only a handful of each. This is like shopping in a third world country. These have to be fake corporate reviews. Im literally shocked that this place has stayed open. How can this place actually compare itself to Kroger and other large supermarkets? I guess its cheap, but with no selection and abusive staff, nothing could be worth it. First and last time in Aldi.
This place isnt great for a large amount of choices, and its not a very appealing visual environment, but for basics you can beat the prices. If you dont buy in bulk and you only need the essentials, this is your place. The dollar goes a long way! Now if they could just spruce it up a bit and cater to an American customer without a change in price, they would corner the market. Keep trying! Best of luck! LG
Recently rediscovered Aldis. I checked out the store after it first opened in Riverhead and wasnt impressed with selection, but recently went back after a coworker mentioned Lidl which isnt in my area and found it to have a wide variety of just about everything and at very good prices. Aldis will be in the rotation from now on.
The people at Aldis work very hard and very polite unfortunately theres not enough of them I counted two people on a Saturday afternoon drawing a snow day the place is very busy the work staff tried very hard to get people out but theres only two of them and they couldnt do both get people out and stock the shelves so do I things I wanted to buy I couldnt find I think you should get it together never can find the manager again only two people there not enough help the two stars is for the work staff

2022-03-06Dont bother trying to do curbside pickup at the Riverhead location. They didnt even attempt to shop for my order, then laughed at me when I went in the store to question if it was ready or not. Who tf runs a store like that? Didnt care that I had to shop for my own groceries...first world problems, I get it. I was, however, annoyed that I wasted my time thinking theyd actually honor a service they offered (I essentially had to shop twice - once at home and then once in the store trying to remember what I had ordered since they didnt do anything with it). I will never shop Aldi again. Go to Lidl instead where they actually care (and have a store phone number.... I was told there wasnt a store phone number to call for Aldi and that even if there was, no one would answer it because theyd be on the floor. Cant make this stuff up!)

2020-09-14Great Everything bagels. Love the AOS, but my money seems to disappear when I walk down it. Cookie Thins, Salted Chocolate Caramels, fruits and salad greens are always a great buy. My Mo icecream, doughy weirdness, but delicious. Cute weighted, felt kitty doorstop ... adorbs and works great!
