We recently completed (Q3 2019) a full gut renovation of a Soho loft with Alex Butler / ABDS. This is the third time we have worked with him in New York, but this one was by far and away the biggest project. The total timeframe of the renovation was supposed to be 15 months, but took almost two years, much of which was a result of delays by the Co-Op and New York DoB. However, we could not have been more pleased with the end result. Our vision for a modern, clean apartment was met perfectly with Alexs engagement throughout. We worked very closely together, and he was open to input and changes throughout the design part of the project. During construction, he took ownership of the process of managing the GC, and elevated key issues (not the minutiae) to me quickly and as appropriate. He was clear and forthright in communicating change orders and delays, and all-in, we were extremely satisfied with his design, professionalism, and of course the final product.

West Village GC has worked with Alexander Butler on his latest 3000sf Soho Loft, a complete gut renovation with everything removed to the brick and beams including, HVAC, sprinklers, windows and floors. The project has a beautifully conceived millwork package designed by Alex and his team, stunning use of slab marble for both vertical and horizontal solid surfaces and more than anything a fantastic, detailed and accurate set of drawings and specifications!Alex and his expert team have navigated the complexities of LPC (Landmarks Preservation Commission) and the DOB, have been decisive and professional with decisions and he and his team have worked seamlessly with the construction team and vendors to deliver a stunning and budget conscious design to his client.Alex, it is a pleasure working with you!Best,James MansfieldCEO West Village GC
