Aliz Hotel Times Square in New York
Hotel is beautiful and in a central area but the staff are not the most helpful. My family and I stayed for 5 days and housekeeping did not come to our room at all, despite requesting it twice. It got to the point where we had to buy our own toilet roll as the receptionist told us on numerous occasions someone would bring it to our room but they never did. While it is understood that the hotel staff are busy, it was not appreciated that we could not even get toilet roll or clean towels.
Here right now. staff no help what so ever.Booked the hotel over a year ago, we have 3 kids so needed two rooms ask to be put together or as close as possible. At check in they told us it’s not on the notice and put us on two different floors. We ask to change to be closer he said no nothing they can do. Not great from the start.Lefts oh wow 😮 you send 20-30 minutes to get in one. They have 3 lefts the middle one is only used for the rooftop bar for the public and no one staying in the hotel can use it….. it is stupid.Bedrooms are clean but for a 4 star hotel the overall should be 2 stars really.Wouldn’t recommend.
Stayed here for 3 nights, 4 days. They didn’t give us any fresh towels, tend to our room or bother addressing our requests to do just that. Staff not particularly helpful. Lifts are insanely busy & take an age, it’s not “on” Time Square as advertised and overall not worth the cost. Save your money, look for a brand & seek value elsewhere.
Positive: The location can¿t be beat! Excellent! The staff was very friendly and helpful. Negative: The bedding had hair all over it and there wasn¿t enough soap and TP left in the room. We weren¿t told anything about the hotel like the rooftop bar, the restaurant, gym, office.
Room was small but nice. Staff was rude and really put me off of ever staying there again. They care more about the customers going to the rooftop bar than the guests paying to stay multiple nights at the hotel. Make sure you don’t go in the middle elevator on weekends.... they won’t tell you it’s only for the rooftop but they sure will yell at you for going in it! As a paying guest. You’ll have to wait 15 minutes on one of the other elevators.
Stay away from this hotel if you don’t want you stuff stolen/missing and the management take absolutely no responsibility for it.My girlfriend and I got robbed in one of their rooms back in December of 2021. Her wallet disappeared when we left for dinner for literally less than 2 hours. It turned out our room door doesn’t lock after shutting it and the hotel manager told the insurance people that the door locks and works properly meanwhile my girlfriend and I showed his housekeeping manager that the door wasn’t shutting or locking properly after locking the door( we have a video of the door not working). They did a lock integration with the help of their IT/engineer person and there was a data/time of the day when we were gone simply not existing in their record. That just tells me that the door didn’t lock after we left the room because again there was no record in their data that it was shut locked the two hours we were gone.
Hotel was lovely but have never met so unfriendly staff who couldnt care less about the customer. Asked every day to get our room cleaned and clean towels which was ignored. Finally got towels put in our room on second last day but we had to empty our bins in the corridor bins as they werent getting emptied. The cups we had to use every day were disposable cups so you can only rinse them out so much. The 3 lifts were slow during the day and at night you could only use 2 lifts as the other one was for the roof top bar.
If it makes anyone feel better, I read every review on this hotel I could find after I booked. Some have accurate facts some don’t. Here is my view:I was traveling for 2 days with a friend of mine for both work and tourism. I booked the Azil with the mindset I would need an extra blanket, clean sheets and my own towels. I had them all in my suitcase as backup- but honestly, there was no need. The front staff are polite and friendly and will hold your bags before check in and after check out. The lobby is a bit small and cramped but it gives you a chance to talk with other visitors. When we checked in our room was super clean, fresh sheets, and smelt nice. The blanket though was a little thin. If your traveling in the winter I would bring the extra blanket. The bathroom was clean with fresh towels and the shower was nice and hot with good water pressure. We had daily housekeeping with new sheets and towels every day.The view. 15/10 if you like skylines it’s stunning. I spent my time in the room staring out the window.Staff- My friend and I came back to hotel late and we were 1. Starving 2. Exhausted. We made casual conversation with the front desk staff and we chatted about a local dim sum place that delivered. Who ever we spoke to was super friendly, kind and even had suggestions on what to order after i told him I had a sensitive stomach. Maintenance staff in general were super friendly and kind. We rode the elevator with staff multiple times and they were always in a good mood, reminding us “ it’s Friday night in New York City! Get excited! “. We also had an awesome concierge that helped us at check out get bags into an Uber and help us also find our ride.I highly recommend this hotel. Epically if this is your first time in the city - it was for me.. surprise! The only thing I noticed that was honest in the other reviews is the AC it worked great - but from time to time it did smell like it was burning. This could have been though that we cranked it.Thank you to the amazing staff for a great stay. I hope to be back with you soon!
Staff was friendly, but lots of charges when I received the bill.I used Dayuse with a room rate of $89 for just a few hours as I had an important assignment to complete. However, the total came out to be $140.05. This is excluding the security deposit. Its $50 more of taxes and other weird fees. I wont be staying here if they continue to charge their guests like this. They give this complimentary ticket to get free drink, but no one was at the bar to help me with this, so I had to just discard this. What a disappointment.
Hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful during our stay. Clean and spacious rooms with lovely marble bathrooms. Central to Times Square and an array of shops and restaurants and theatres. Recieved a $25 complimentary chip towards Breakfast and 2 drinks at bar. The lobby and lobby bar is small but the gem is on the 40th floor with the restaurant and bar Dear Irving on the Hudson with spectacular views of Manhattan.
Rooms are nice but if youre expecting the room to be cleaned and towels changed forget it we were there for 5 nights and had the towels changed on the 4th night, the staff are not very helpful asked every day for the room to be serviced and was just fobbed off. Also the lifts are a nightmare could be waiting 15 minutes for it as the service staff use them, also after 4pm they use one just for guests going to the rooftop bar. Overall not the best experience
I am not a review person but I normally look at reviews when finding the best hotel experience in NYC.This was the worse hotel stay I’ve had !the hotel is clean, rooms are small , nice hotel bar and restaurant area this is why I figured I’d stay. Not much street parking so I, valeted my car. After the driver handed me the keys and said I was all set to go no mention that one of the employees damaged the handle on my car.Not to mention I waited an hour for my car to believe delivered back to the hotel I drove 2 hours home and my car door wouldn’t open. The valet service broke my car door and the hotel doesn’t have a number or doesn’t want to take responsibility for the damages .$75 for a valet service and no one wants to be held accountable.Poor management skills. 0/10 for me
Good location, able to walk to all the hot spots of Broadway, Madison Square garden and the Hudson but not so close its too noisy in a noisy City.Only issue was we requested a room clean and said it wasnt available but we rang at the right time. I would definately stay here again, especially when I hear some horror stories of hotels in New York.Clean, friendly, everything you need.
I sincerely had a great experience all around. Upon arrival I noticed an African American gentleman and lady who were very polite and patient to a Spanish family who were adding a night to their stay. I didn’t need to step in and translate because staff did a great job in communicating ❤️👍👍👍👍 Our check in was easy, fast and warmly welcomed. We were informed of room service ‘upon request only’ check out time and luggage holding if need. On point! We did request room service one day and did a very good job👏. So tip your room service people 🙏. As far as the hotel it was amazingly cute and luxuriously decorated. Staff was always friendly and helpful. I was kind of surprised with the size of the rooms and the hallways though. Unexpectedly small. But is normal for New York. Card gives you access to elevators and main entrance etc. Rooftop access is with the lovely girls up in the front. Leidaly is one of them. So nice! Rooftop views and seating are breathtaking! Drinks and service are delicious 😋 Access to balcony. They give you a token for a discount at the Farm to burger restaurant and a drink coupon for the bar I the lobby. I’m telling you it’s well built with lots of nice indoor food and bar options. Merry Christmas 🎄 and enjoy your stay! Bring a good attitude and follow me for other nice places 🖖
Thanks to Valentine, who was working the front desk, we had an amazing stay. He was there upon checkin to make sure there weren’t issues, and was super helpful answering any questions we had about the hotel. He was single-handedly managing a full lobby of guests and made it an efficient and positive experience for everyone. Will definitely be back. Thanks for everything Valentine!
Whilst overall the hotel provided my wife and I with the base we needed to explore NYC there were a couple of areas that let it down. Firstly having arrived early on Saturday morning and despite asking for the housekeeping service we received nothing until about 8pm on the Sunday evening and even then we had to phone down to reception to enquire about it.Secondly the rooftop bar! I cannot review it because despite staying on the 37th floor we werent able to access it for the entire 6 nights we were there. We were constantly told its been hired out for a private party. You should at least provide paying guests with an opportunity to access your own facilities first before any money grabbing outsourcing, we only required 30 minutes to an hour up there potentially but it seems that was too much to ask. Having read other reviews I know Im not alone in this complaint.
I came yesterday to ask what time I could go up to the top floor bar with my kids, the person at the front desk said come tomorrow at 3pm. I come today another person says come back at 4pm. I come back at 4pm the same people tell me no it is not possible there is a private event... This hotel really doesnt care about people, I dont recommend it.
Positive: Staff was nice and prompt to assist Negative: Where to start? There are no shower caps for the guests and the hair blow-dryer didnt work. Elevators are not sufficient for the number of guests (every time we had to wait 15 minutes plus to get one) and the list goes on; I would not recommend
In this hotel - NEVER AGAIN.The service is bellow a 4 star hotel standard. The pictures online are misleading - the room space its quite inferior to the one shown. The conservation and materials are inferior.Overcrowded hotel with too little number of elevators for such high building.People constantly piling up in the extremely small lobby.Personal with no orientation to quality or client care.Fails in service. Miscommunication between departments.NOT a 4 star hotel. The only plus is being so close to times square but there are better options around at the same price or cheaper.
The room was small not much room to put clothes , but it was super cute cozy and clean . The furniture was modern and the location is great ! The rooms look modern with sleek furniture . I just wish they had a place to dump our trash you kinda have to take it down stairs other then that loved it. @skyybaybe ig &sc
I haven’t even checked in yet and the experience is horrible. I check in a day and a half, but I received a pre-authorization charge that I was not informed about of $150 when I haven’t even checked in yet. I was not even informed of this happening two days early. I call the hotel to ask about it and the man answering the phone is beyond shockingly rude and unprofessional. I ask about the charge and he is instantly rude. He won’t explain why it was charged early and he hangs up on me. I call back and ask why he hung up on me and he still doesn’t have a satisfactory response to why I have a pending authorization two days early. Then I ask him to look up my reservation and he says he doesn’t event have me as a reservation for the 16th. He tells me I need to call back tomorrow and he can’t look it up for me. And then he tells me I’m annoying and wasting his time. Well, now I feel really comfortable staying at this hotel for 3 nights…not. If this is how it is already and how they treat customers than I’m scared already. I am shocked to be treated this way as a future hotel guest.
Lobby and bar are same small entry room. Bar is four chairs at a counter in the middle of the lobby. Almost impossible to sit at when people are checking in. Rooms were clean and well appointed and hotel was in good location. Front desk staff was ok but the bar, restaurant staff clearly did not want to be there. Woman who served me at the bar stared at herself in the mirror and ignored us for 10 minutes despite its being the only ones sitting there. Then was served with no greeting, no smile, and tossed a half full drink because she didnt want to open another bottle of tonic. The biggest dissapointment was the cleaning mid trip. We were told to request cleaning and did so for two days in a row only to come home at 11pm to nothing done. When I complained I was told there was nothing that could be done and they would request for the next day. Happened until I got my room cleaned the last day were there out of 6. Big disappointment. Service was sub par. This has been a constant complaint by other reviewers and they get the same stock response by this hotel that they will take it under advisement. That is clearly not happening. Im sure I will get the same response. Beware.
The only good thing about this hotel is the proximity to Times Square, the rooms are extremely small, you can hardly move around, the window in the room is so small and overlooks a wall.. I would expect a little more for $450 / night. There is even no room service or nobody to help with the luggage. Please avoid this place
Definitely find something else, not worth your money.- In general it was a bad experience with the hotel. There were several situations, mainly with the team involved:- After the first night, my fiancee pijama was gone. It was white color, probably taken with towels by the cleaning service. I was checking every day with the reception, they only seem to pretend to do something (reported to several workers), eventually they only said they cant find it and did nothing to compansate the lost... we only heard „we havent found it and good bye, no even single sorry- After second night the room was not cleaned up, when back to the hotel in the evening, we ended up (3 people in the room), with dirty towels on the ground, no toilet paper, nothing to use the bathroom - terrble. I was 5 times downstairs hearing every time that someone will fix this in the moment (traveling back and forth from 11PM - 2AM as I wanted to take a shower after day). It was only fixed at 10 next day, also after another travel to the reception. Moreover when asked the team if we can now get more time to take a showers, they gave us 30 more minutes only (11:30A)... in genral ridiculous situation, we were s0000 frustrated that day.- Dont buy breakfast, they charge a lot of extra fees and in general the breakfast is not worth it (even with the ridiculous coin received in the beginning of the stay)- I asked for a talk with a manager 3 times, nobody let me for this.
I stayed in Aliz Hotel Times Square, 310 W 40th St, New York, NY 10018from Tuesday, May 3 till Friday, May 6 with my friend in room 2201 and we checked out at 2 pm.I know I left my dress - a black wool dress Jacquemus brand - in the room in the wardrobe.I attach a photo.I called the hotel today at 1:37pm and your colleague assured my that they checked in Lost and Found and no dress was found and that they contacted a person that was cleaning the room, that there were no dress.I know 100% the dress stayed there because I arrived wearing that dress on Tuesday late at night and I put it there when we arrived and I never wore it while we were staying and I know it stayed there 100%.My point is that I precisely know where and what was left, I was unfortunately in a hurry to check out.I request you to return this dress to me ASAP and start the investigation if needed why it was not reported to the lost and found.I attach the photo of me wearing this dress.I will report to the police- if the dress is not returned to me at 271 W 47th st, apt 45D or- if the hotel representative did not contact me to inform me about finding the dress and arranging the return it to mebefore 6 pm EST Monday, May 9th.Looking forward to hearing from you!Thank you for your cooperation!I will remove this comment and leave another review as soon as the situation is resolved.I hope for cooperation. So far there was no much of it.Thank you in advance!
Forget to review this hotel for my stay in December 2019. So, I booked this hotel for 4 nights i guess from Booking.com. The Hotel location is best you can get in front of New York Times building & near Times Square. The Lobby was really nice. Lifts were secure. Room was very comfortable & medium size & cozy. Bath was very nice with white marble. Bar at top floor was great. Only thing I didn’t liked was that there was no spa at hotel. Other then that i recommend this to anyone going to New York.
Dont stay here! They charge hidden fees!!! I prepaid for my room but then was charged $34.42 after the stay. I called to inquire about the charge and they said it is a destination fee. I asked what a destination fee was and they said because where they are located they charge a fee for it. Forget this hotel! Ive never been charged a destination fee at the other Times Square hotels! I hate shady hidden fees!!!!
Very friendly and helpful staff. Modern, clean but small sized room, which was not priority for this trip. Stayed 4 nights. Complimentary: 2 large Fiji water bottles, $25 in drinks, which I exchanged for orange juice instead, $25 for breakfast. Close to Times Square. Would highly recommend
Positive: Nothing!!! Negative: The website showed spacious rooms. Very small. I had to ask for maid service if I wanted it. And 3 of the days I asked. They didn¿t show. The front desk could use some people skill training. I will never recommend it to anyone. Worst hotel I¿ve ever
Positive: Location Negative: Previous stay 3 years ago was exceptional. Feel this hotel has gone downhill since. The breakfast buffet was not good - we left after being seated. Constantly fighting for elevator room with house staff and their laundry carts. Bar staff rude
This I the worst place I’ve ever stayed and the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. I strongly suggest against staying here at any costs. Our room was broken into while we were at dinner and our stuff were stolen including my wallet with all my ids and money in it. The hotel would not provide us with anyone to talk to outside of the front desk stating that their manager only works Monday through Friday and no one can help us, it wasn’t until we let them know that we called the police that they allowed us to talk to Iris their maintenance supervisor who confirmed with us and their security engineer that their is time unaccounted for on the door log. They refuse to run footage, she said that they have had this incident happen before and now they are blaming us for leaving our stuff in the room. They keep shifting blame to avoid responsibility. David Roman the manager of the hotel was so hard to get ahold of and when we did via phone he was unpleasant and unwilling to help. Their insurance stated that hotel management should provide refunds directly and I assume this is why David dodges our calls now.Unfortunately there isn’t an option to upload videos here but I have a video showing that the room door shuts but never locks proving that anyone could go into your room at anytime my room was on the 16th floor and my life would have been in extreme danger had I came face to face with the robber with no way out but one elevator that we would have both had to take.
First time in NYC. Yes it was a learning experience..Ill put this review numbered sections.1. I shouldnt have to ask for room service to come change sheets and take trash out.. When i finally do ask and it takes two days to service the room, thats a problem. You even have a button in the room that was pressed many times. We had three days worth of trash in our room.2. The elevators took way too long. 15 minutes to go to my room. This was probably because the staff uses the same elevators, instead of a designated service elevator.Thats not their fault..Also, its a bad idea to desingnate 1/3 of the elevators you have for people to go up to the dear irving sky lounge. I get thats important for you, but your putting your customers at an inconvience .3. Staff was not very friendly. Mostly stand offish. When informed of the lack of roomservice , she only took off one of the 36 dollar nightly costs.4. Their was also alot of weird stuff going on between the staff. One man on the elevator got into an arguement with another because of how long he had worked their, and he was entitled to do this or that. Right in front of me and my party. The gentlemen appologized to us once he left, and you could tell it embarrassed him.5. Overall, the room was a good price if you book two months in advance, the sky lounge was nice, but customer service needs to be worked on, and fees need to be explained...
First time visiting with my son. The second day I discovered the toilet was leaking. They moved us to another room stated the whole toilet needed to be removed. Had to call daily for towels and room service. Room was extremely small comforter was thin as a sheet. Front desk wasn’t friendly at all location was okay was close to Time Square. We stayed from the 17-20 planning another trip in the summer definitely won’t be staying here.
Positive: This was my first NYC experience and the location was great and in walking distance from the couple of events I had attended. Also, the hotel provided drink tickets upon arrival as well as a $25 chip towards dinner. Negative: No! Everything was awesome! Location, customer service, hospitality and atmosphere was undeniably the best experience for me! This was my first NYC visit and I will definitely return to this hotel!
When we arrived 8 hours after check in 11:50 pm there was NO room even though we had a reservation. We had to wait 80 minutes! The man at the front desk sent us to find another hotel, I repeat with our reservation being in his system !! We also did not have housekeeping service for 4 days but they did charge us $ 39 per night !!! I must say that the service for the breakfast was excellent.
I enjoyed this hotel. Smallest Ive ever stayed in but what do you expect in New York. The Rooftop is nice and views are great. Interior of room is nice with great lighting and views from 35th Fl are a plus. Front desk staff is very nice and helpful. Housekeeping is fast!!
Do not stay at this hotel!!! If I could give them zero stars then I would. We called and asked them to come clean our rooms. We were told each day that they would send housekeeping and we would be out for the whole day to come back to nothing being cleaned. We asked/called every day for 4 days and by our last day we were so fed up we didn’t ask anymore. My friends and I literally piled all of the dirty towels and trash by the door for days. Will never go back to this hotel!!!!
SCAMER ALERTFirst they will add 34.43 dollar of resort fee to your totally price, and no it didn’t show on your price when you book online or your online recipe be aware of the situation everyone.Second incredible rude staffs when I found out the different on the price and trying to figure out the lady who answered the phone was yelling at me saying there is the fee online but when I asked why it didn’t show on my recipe when I booked it she just said it’s third party and it’s nothing she can do, definitely one of the worst experience ever.
I seriously regret staying at this hotel! The front desk staff was unnecessarily rude when telling me that they were not responsible for putting us in a room with one queen bed when I had already paid for 2 doubles and that there was nothing they could do. There were only 3 elevators (well, one is reserved for taking guests to the restaurant on the top floor, so really only 2) and it literally took us 35 minutes waiting in a crowded lobby to get up 5 floors. There is no way to take the stairs up. None of the staff in the lobby wore masks. It was loud and the room was uncomfortable. I am totally disappointed. Dont let the pictures deceive you. It was awful.
Absolutely appalling customer service, or lack of it.. downright rude staff… left the room at 9am requesting the room to be serviced, return at 16:45 not done.. shower doesn’t work properly, bar has 3 seats in it and when myself, my husband and our friends (also residents) asked for a drink at 10:15 on were told bar is closed.. rip off breakfast.. reception area smaller than most peoples bedrooms… rooms so small you fall over one another.. lifts a joke….Only 2 lifts to service 40 floors.. never never come here…. Makes fawlty tours look like a 5 star hotel… shame on you Aliz Hotel
Place is kind of clean, have small rooms, friendly staff, but inefficient staff. We stayed five nights and asked our room to be cleaned but nobody came for three days! By the fourth day, we just gave up. We asked each day and they said they would do it but they didn’t. So, everyday we had to ask for new towels. I would not come back to this place. They had 4 days to come clean our room and they didn’t.
Whoever gave this place 5 stars needs to experience quality service. They give you complimentary cocktails when you come in because youll need a drink after you see your accommodations. When we arrived in our room our bed didnt have a fitted sheet and there was a huge red stain on the comforter. There was also a huge clump of hair on the mattress too! When we talked with management they just shrugged and gave us a thin comforter and two top sheets. It was just a thin sheet between us and raw mattress. Stay away.
I stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks and would strongly recommend staying elsewhere. Overall, the room was clean and amenities were nice. However, be prepared to wait sometimes 10-15 minutes for an elevator! They only have 2 elevators they use for 40 floors. The 3rd elevator is closed off for the rooftop bar, quite unnecessary when you’re own guests can’t even get to their rooms.Other cons include:-Housekeeping did not clean when requested. Several times I left for the day and asked the room to be cleaned and they never did.-Check-in is not until 4:00 PM. Although they held our luggage, this makes it very difficult if you need to change, rest after a long flight, etc.-Terrible location. Very unsafe area with homeless people and drug addicts hanging around outside. My final thoughts, I will be staying somewhere else on my next trip to NYC and and am simply writing this review to inform others who are considering this hotel. There are plenty of other options in NYC, please choose them.
It was so small room no bathtub. 2 complimentry water.breakfast in the hotel it’ll be minimum $25per person. For me it’s expensive. There is bar in top floor with the best view but you’ve to make reservations. They will keep your luggage safe after you check out too, we did the same.
I was greeted in such a way that I thought this would be a wonderful stay. So helpful, telling me of all the amenities here at the hotel. However, the two free cocktail coupons for the lobby bar were never used as the lobby was crowded for most of our stay. The 25% off token for the restaurant was not used by us either. Could not book a reservation. Dont be fooled by the beautiful bar/lounge areas on the 40th and 41st floor and the images shown on the website. We were there Thursday - Saturday and the space was evidently booked for private events THE ENTIRE TIME, both floors. With no availability to guests of the hotel. We as paying customers were not able to access either area at any time. We could be waitlisted. This is after we checked with the woman in charge, who relished her position as if she was manning the door at a real club in Manhattan. We inquired morning, noon and night, surprise...nothing but maybe waitlist. Part of the reason I booked this particular hotel, wasnt the subpar location, with garage parking 2 streets up and two blocks over, it was the beautifully shown lounge spaces, and the promise of the rooftop views, dining, cocktails.I wont mention the neon green notice two doors down the hall from our room, sealing a room on the 23rd floor for police investigation. What the actual f?!? Very disappointing. The room was as shown, but thats it. In the past we have only stayed at Hilton Times Square and now I know to stick with a larger brand hotel. Please be aware before you book here.
The rooms are EXTREMELY small, barely had a window to look out of on the 29th floor and you pay extra for a view. You will also hear people outside your room frequently so the walls are most definitely not soundproof. I was not allowed to leave the name of another guest at the front desk there. They give you a $25 credit to a rooftop lounge you cant even get a chance to reserve a spot for and the alcohol for the welcome cocktails in the lobby bar are watered down. Due to the rooftop bar, on weekends, one of the ONLY 3 elevators in the entire hotel are closed down which will leave you with a wait of up to 15 minutes for the elevator. The weekend that I was there (Nov. 5th- Nov. 7th), one of the elevators was out for a few hours and that prolonged the wait time.Somehow, the federal employee rate cost more than the regular rate when I was booking with them and when booking from a third party site, the destination fee is a little over $60 a night. If you do not get the Breakfast Bundle and you want breakfast, thats an extra $20 per person per night.IF YOURE LOOKING FOR A RIPOFF IN THE CITY, THIS IS IT! Dont come here if you know whats good for your value and wallet.
I usually dont write in details. At first pictures looked nice so we chose this hotel. Small but nice rooms. However, very rude staff. Upon checking in they did not tell us that we have to ask to have our rooms cleaned so the first 2 days no one cleaned our rooms. No hand soap or blankets or tissue box in the room. The AC worked fine but the second we increased the temperature above 71, the room smelled like burning wires. I asked for an iron and they brought me one hours later, once I plugged it in the wire lit up and shocked me but fortunately I was able to unplug it before the wall catches on fire. It smelled like fire in our room. We took this concern to the management and they didnt even apologize. They simply said email the hotel with your concern. One of the elevators was down for 2 days and we had to wait half an hour to go up or down and lost couple of our reservations. Inconvenience happens but when the staff or management is so rude or careless like this, its unacceptable. We had 3 rooms and didnt even get an apology from the hotel.
This is a definite no no no to staying at this hotel we spent almost $15000 for a large group over 5x days to have our gift bag to vanish from leaving the room to reception gone ,cleaner know nothing, desk staff not fit for purpose, remember it only takes 1 staff to pull a big business down.
I am not the type to complain, but this was one of the worst hotel stays I have ever experienced. We came about an hour after check in time, yet they still did not have our room ready. I was assured it would just be 5-10 minutes, but that turned into over an hour more. Within minutes of entering the hotel room, showering, and sitting in the bed, I broke out in horrible hives all over my legs. I was extremely uncomfortable throughout my entire time in the city. The elevators were also beyond slow and truly unacceptable. We missed reservations and lost a deposit due to it taking so long (and we accounted extra time knowing this.) There also was a severely intoxicated customer in the lobby and she was not able to get up to her room for over 30 minutes, which to me is concerning. They should take the “resort fee” and use it towards fixing the elevator and providing better quality products that don’t cause their customers to break out in hives and get a staph infection. I’ve reached out to the hotel multiple times to try to get the ingredients in their body wash and detergent, which won’t be provided to me without my doctor emailing them. I’m sorry what? I’ve been to the doctor twice now and spent a bunch of various medications and creams to reduce pain and infection. At this point, a refund or an apology would have been nice, but the manager was not very nice or helpful. The general manager was nicer, but did not offer much of a solution or help much with my simple request for an answer of what exactly the ingredients are in their products. It’s ridiculous they need to get my doctor involved. My doctor was shocked and confused when I told him the hotel was requesting this. It’s like they think I’m making this up, which I have pictures, medical bills, prescriptions etc. to prove. My experience was beyond unacceptable and the way it is being handled makes it even worse. I would highly recommend you choose a different hotel!
Location is good, staff is friendly, rooms clean BUT.... there were no sheets on our bed and no comforter..just a light, what appeared to be a duvet filler for a blanket. My 6 year old was freezing. Bed and pillows were super uncomfortable, which I can deal with but no covers?? Strange.
Room is very small, smells bad and bed sheet is dirty. Outlets near the bed doesn’t work. There is a tiny window that doesn’t provide a view when you look out.Rooftop bar needs a reservation and the coupon is pretty much useless.Car park is not located on the same building, and it costs extra $60 for 24 hours.
We arrived at the hotel early and our bags were checked. We left to see the Christmas Spectacular, and had lunch. We checked into our room which was perfect for a night in New York .We had the best services everyone was friendly and helpful. The rooftop cocktail bar was the highlight ofthe evening. We will definitely consider staying here again.dinner
I wish I read the more recent reviews of this hotel before booking. Unless you want to carry your bags/luggage around with you all day then don’t stay here. They said they don’t currently have a bellman so they can’t hold any bags. I’ve never heard of that, usually the staff can just place them in a closet, no bellman needed. Also the sheets and towels had black marks all over them. They seemed washed (one can only hope) but the marks were very visible. Not all was bad though. The check in process was quick and we were able to check in early, the gentleman at the front desk was super friendly. I didn’t get his name but I believe he was new or still training. They also give you a $25 food credit and 2 drink vouchers upon check in but I didn’t get a chance to use them. Probably to make up for the lack of other services. The bag storage is important for me especially if I don’t have my car so because of this, I will not be staying here again. There are many other options in the area.
I strongly advise NOT to stay in this hotel , just returned from their today, the manger is as much use as a chocolate fire guard his name is David, the reception staff just looked at each other and rolled their eyes when I reported to them my Macys shopping bag with Christmas items in and also gifts from liberty Ireland had gone missing out of the room, it took them two days to check who had entered the room , no checking of CTV when the two housekeeping women denied they had ever seen the bag which I find very hard to believe when the rooms are small and the bag was at the end of the bed and would have to be brushed passed it to make the bed, at this point the manager took their word for it and made it quite clear I was liar, he said they had worked their for 3yrs with no problems I asked him to check the ctv from the lobby area and lifts which would have proved I had walked in with it, BUT NO he took their word for it , didnt call police , all he offered was our money back which didnt help me as I only had a afternoon left with things organised by the time he offered this so could not get the gifts from liberty Island again I asked him to send a staff member to get more gifts for me he just shrugged his shoulders and said NO , it is disgusting how this was dealt with by him and reception staff , no compassion when i got upset NO opology. Absolutely disgusting a hotel is run like this , I would definitely avoid , if you are unlucky enough to find you are staying here lock all your stuff away members of staff are thieves and get away with it . One star given as without that would not let.me post it or I would give Zero.
I don’t usually write reviews but going out of my way to recommend you avoid this hotel.Pros: nice rooms, nice lobby, relatively cleanCons:- only three elevators for 40 story building so takes forever to get to and from your room. At check out, we waited for 5 elevators (20 minutes) but every single one was full by the time we got to our floor. Ended up walking down 6 flights carry our bags- no storage for bags after check out (never seen this in a hotel before)- not a great location- small rooms- didn’t have basic essentials like hair dryer etc in the roomThere are better, safer, more convenient options in the city.
The hotels location is poor, the two people in the reception area were rude and there was a weed smell that permeated all of the hotel (even the room). The room was small but nice, the extra tech in room made it feel very modern; however, the wallpaper was coming off in one of the corners of the room. Also, compared to others hotels in the area the resort tax is outrageously expensive. The two beverages were a good addition and the bell boy was super nice, but overall I wouldnt recommend this hotel.
The hotel Seemed To Be Very Nice Until We got there. When We Check Into Are Room It Was Surprisingly Very Small & Had A Brink Wall For A View. For The Price I Expected Way More. Also I didnt Believe the Rooms Sheets We As Thin As People Describe In the Reviews, When I Looked Prior To Booking The Hotel. But They Were Literally Curtian sheets, which were very uncomfortable. Also As A Downside Customer Service Could Be Better Ask For More Towels And Toilet Paper 4x times before we got anything Sent to the Room Also The AC Wasnt Blowing Cold Air When We Arrived, As A Maintenance Tech I Inspect The Filters & Wow They Were Completely Clogged Which takes A While Before They Get Clogged Up That Bad. Which Makes Me Wonder If Cleaning Is Even Being Done At All.Did Receive A $25 voucher For their Breakfast which was ok but was a limited breakfast menu & Overpriced Selections. For Anyone Thinking Of Staying Here Id Look else where To Get A Better Deal And Better Hospitality. Side Note: They Charge A 150 deposit and a hotel daily charge of 35 a day. Like I Said wish I would have chosen A Different Hotel When Visiting New York For My First Time.
This hotel Amazed me!!!! I was so satisfied with their service. First of all rooms are exactly how they look on the website. We took a room With two beds and it was big enough for 2 people. The customer service and house keeping was great. We got there at 2pm and they let us in right away. The rooftop is amazing with great drinks and a delicious shrimp dish( try that)!!! I had great time staying in Aliz hotel. Whenever I come back to Newyork am definitely staying in Aliz hotel.
Micro size rooms. Smallest I’ve been to in Manhattan. Closet like. No top sheet just a pice of tablecloth fabric. No blanket at all! Right next to Port Authority. Issues with safety and homelessness is why the entry doors are locked. No door man no valet.Front desk staff was outstanding and tried to be helpful. Attached restaurant Farm to Burger service was poor nothing but attitude. Upstairs rooftop bar was just rooms with tiny balcony. No open air seating. So many better safer options to stay in Manhattan will not return.
Pros: Great location. Close to Times Square and metro. Upscale look and clean. Very secure with key entry to front lobby and elevator. Safe for families. Keurig in the room. Free $25 token for their breakfast and two bar drink tickets. I heard someone say they are supposed to offer a Citybike pass but we never heard that until after we had already rode bikes. Rooms were medium sized but just enough. If you ask at 4-5pm to see the views at the rooftop bar they will let you peek before they get busy. It is a very good way to see the city from above. Rooms were clean and newer. AC worked great. Shower was very nice with two nozzles and hot water. I would stay here again. I was very pleased.Cons: If you are sensitive to perfume or cologne watch out for the lobby. It reeked everyday. Very strong. Made me dizzy. The hotel is right next to a parole/probation office. Beds were indented where they have been slept in over and over on one side. No housekeeping unless you ask. Rooms are paper thin so you can hear everything someone is saying echoing all the way to the elevators on that floor. They only have one small door to enter the hotel and it’s very heavy to open with luggage or generally. No microwave. They only give you one very thin sheet that’s like a fabric shower curtain to cover with on the bed. Don’t park out front. You will get a ticket. Bathroom sliding door made a very loud noise when you slid it open and closed and it was very heavy.
Leaving this hotel now after a 7 day stay and it was.. interesting. Wed just come in from a 25 hr travel day from Asia. They let us check in early with no issues. That was great. We were given a room initially that had a broken A.C. It took multiple calls and a technician coming at 2:30 A.M to confirm before they moved our rooms. Rooms are tight but nice and the bed is comfortable. House keeping isnt working as normal because of covid so we had to ask for our room to be cleaned which was fine. The elevators are a joke. Theres only 3 for a hotel with 40 floors and a roof top bar. It rook forever toget up and down in mostly over crowded elevators. No one wears a mask. That freaked me out a bit. Breakfast was blah and was 60 dollars for 2 omlettes and 2 coffees. Check out was also weird. Had to leave at 530am to catch a train. Yelled for someone for 20 minutes. Lady seemed very uninterested and was just like okay bye. We also booked through a 3rd party site and was not notified of the extreme resort fees until check in. It was too late then to find anywhere else.Honestly we wouldnt stay again. It was loud, crowded, and definitely not a relaxing atmosphere after such a long journey.
To start, I am the last person who likes to write a bad review, but the horrible services and interaction with the manager drove me to share my experience with others. Out of many interactions with the front desk, the lady never explained details to me clearly and this even resulted in an additional charge during my stay that I was never even notified about. When I saw this unauthorized charge and contacted a manager, he refused to understand my concern and would not reverse the charge. Also during my time there, my room was never cleaned and even when I specifically requested they clean my room at the front desk, room service still didnt show up. Just a simple request to get a towel to my room took almost an hour and multiple phone calls to guest services. Out of over 50 hotels I have stayed in, this was definitely my worse experience. If you like the location of this hotel, but dont want to deal with the bad service, just stay at the Doubletree by Hilton right beside this hotel. I stayed there a couple years ago and it was a much more pleasant experience.
The rooms are small, but I imagine thats consistent with most NYC rooms. Great staff. Friendly. Clean rooms. There is a fantastic hotel in the lobby with a coffee bar that you can order cocktails at as well. There is also a rooftop bar that has fabulous views and great cocktail/food options. We stayed 5 days here. Great centralized location to anything you may want to experience in NYC. It is in a busier part of town, but very easy to walk to anywhere you want to go, catch a subway or uber. The beds/pillows were so comfy and the black out shades made sleeping in a breeze. Literally, dark in your room when they are shut.Overall a fantastic experience!
Stay away at all cost--never again. Dysfunctional building & careless service. There could be an Occopany HAZARD that they keep a blind eye about due to NEGLECT. NYC Department of Buildings should inspect this place. 1st, our room was at 36th floor, has continues very loud sound of airwaves from the pipes (you can never sleep with this sound). After couple of phone calls to front desk they sent 2 engineers to check. They hear the sound (the main engineer seems he knew this is an issue & tried to ignore it and the other one was concerned). They left the room to fix it from outside the room but never made a difference, nor they notified us of anything. Raised the issue another day & engineers said they will fix it & just left. For 3 nights from the stay we stayed in another hotel & returned & raised the issue with front desk supervisor since manager always said to be on a break. They seemed aware of the issue but more sense they didnt care. They didnt say anything and just suggested to change the room during the last day of the stay. That is all. Ended up paying for the stay & resort fees without staying at hotel most of the stay and workout any service. Also hotel has only 3 elevators and always one of them not working. In summary, tiny lobby, small rooms, long wait for elevators with only 2 of 3 working, loud air noise in pipes or something in room, & careless service, & no management. Sorry I have booked this hotel during during rush business travel
It has a nice staff, friendly, patient. The rooms are good I can’t complain. However there is no breakfast as they said in the hotel announcement they give u like 20 bucks to buy something from the freezer. You cannot visit the lounge in the roof and there’s no where that you can go and sit besides your room(the lobby is always full)However it has a nice location on time square, lucky if you get a room with view!
Housekeeping never came to our room. We were told at the front office that housekeeping would not come as frequently, but would clean the room. Three nights and no housekeeping. I will not recommend any of my friends and family to stay here. Rooms are small, but manageable. Staff was friendly and the rooftop bar is AMAZING! I would suggest staying somewhere close so you could come for drinks at the bar. Will not stay here on my next visit to NYC.
In a good location, room is extremely small you barely have any space to move around. The pictures on the website made it seem like the rooms were big and amazing… Absolutely not. The bar also charges nine dollars for a water. Before checking in I specifically asked for a high floor… Did not get that, by the time we checked in we were tired from flying, but you should respect with the customer requests. For a couple staying four nights they only put two towels in the bathroom, and one small bottle of shampoo… Do they not look at the reservation before they assign a room to someone???Also, never had a hotel charge me a security deposit they would always just ask for a card on file… This hotel actually charges your card and once again room was extremely small!!
Honestly, Ive traveled all over the world and stayed in random hostels, luxury hotels, you name it! This was honestly one of the worst experiences Ive had at a hotel. Im a native new yorker and was just trying to have a romantic anniversary night, but I picked the wrong hotel.Very disappointed in terms of customer service and terribly uncomfortable beds (pillows hard as a rock and the bed literally was SINKING in). The woman at the front desk couldnt be bothered or asked questions, had a very bad attitude, didnt even welcome us upon arrival - she just asked for the deposit and handed us our room key - Very unwelcoming. This is more of a motel/party hotel vibe, if you ask me. If you party on the rooftop, and after a few drinks you dont mind the horrible service, go ahead. Only decent part was that the bathroom and room was clean. Thats all! Find quality hotel elsewhere.
The staff and management are the most ineffective and inefficient group of individuals, during our 4 night stay, they only managed to clean the room once and only after complaining to the front desk and housekeeping their excuses was laughable and given the room rate you can get such better in NYC, very disappointed and will certainly not recommend this hotel to anyone.
How this is a four star Ill never know... Yes rooms in NYC are small but this was the smallest Ive ever stayed in. The bathroom is the same size as the room. They have a beautiful rooftop bar...but it isnt part of the hotel and requires reservations. The garage they use for parking is 4 blocks away so be prepared to drag your luggage their puddles of ominous contents. Shampoo, body soap were enough for one person to have for one shower. The worst part is there are literal crack addicts outside the lobby on both sides of the hotel. New York city is a giant dumpster and doesnt represent America well. Go to Boston instead, you wont see one possibly dead or strung out person while there unlike NYC which has multitudes of them on every block.
I cannot wait to check out of here tomorrow. The rooms are the smallest I’ve ever seen in my life. You basically use the toilet while touching the bed. The elevators are absolutely ridiculously slow. I brought my dog and to bring her outside to walk was a 20 min ordeal up and down in the elevator. Even worse the hotel saves one of their elevators for the bar on the top floor, even when it’s not open. The bar obviously takes precedence over the hotel guests. The crowded lobby when the bar is open is horrible. The area is very sketchy. Crack addicts hang out outside the entrance. The sidewalk is over crowded with garbage and it’s super loud. I’d never stay here again. They got my room rate wrong and their “free” cocktail was gross. Don’t stay here if you want a good time in the city.
Room was clean but housekeeping was horrible. Front desk assured me they would come by 11am Saturday and nothing. So I called Sunday morning for my room to be cleaned up and a nice man made sure house meowing would come by 1pm. Besides that I have been trying to get in contact with the hotel guest service the day i left and even accounting due to 2 unknown charges. The hotel charges me with 2 transactions over $1000 for no reason. The first time they answered after 6 calls telling me that they have no idea why it charged me after I asked why this happened. That there was a negative how ever much those 2 charges were that it would go back in the account. They told me to go talk to my bank and gave me an authorization #. My bank told me that they needed a couple of information and someone from the hotel to talk to provide information so the pending authorization would be removed and I would get my money back in my account because I have bills to pay for and can’t wait to have the money back in my account. This is very unprofessional and things need to be straightened out.
Place was clean. Definitely a lot cleaner than some of the hotels in the area. The room was small and our room on the 37th floor could feel the music from the rooftop bar. Other than those complaints we were thoroughly pleased with our stay. The price was great for what you get, the included breakfast is not bag eggs and frozen sausage. Its a full breakfast menu that had great options. The bed was comfortable , check on and check out were seamless and less than 5 minutes. Very friendly staff and helpful attendants. We will definitely stay here again.
I am simple person easy to please, all I am looking for is good service. I came in Thursday night looking for a room, the front desk lady wasn’t welcoming at all and had the nastiest attitude for no reason. She wasn’t answering any of my questions properly because I was indecisive about which room to pick and she end up recommending me to go and give my business to some other hotels rather than trying to help me out to pick a room. I travelled to so many countries and I stayed in so many different hotels, this was the worst service I ever got so far.Note: If you read my review properly you would’ve known that I didn’t stay in obviously for the poorly treatment and the fact she recommended me to give my business to other hotels after giving her my ID and credit card. However the video going to be uploaded soon stay tuned.Update: I called the next day to complain about the incident and give them a chance, so no one would go through what I experienced. The manger/ He wasn’t even concerned to listen to my side of the story and improve their poorly customer service. No wonder the staff is unqualified and not trained properly !!Do yourself a favor and take your money somewhere else!
If I could give this hotel a 0, I would. I’m giving a 1 star solely based on the ability to access the gym despite covid. The rooms are tiny of course. There were people hanging out & listening to music right outside of the hotel which I found weird. The sheets are extremely thin. Definitely won’t keep you warm, so keeping the heater on during the colder months would be ideal. There was what seemed to be old blood on the sheets & towels in the bathroom. When brought up to the lady at the desk, she acted as if it was normal & told us to just send an email to the email provided. Valet services aren’t available. The suggested parking is super expensive & not connected to the hotel, which was inconvenient. For these reasons listed above, we stayed at the hotel for less than 24 hours & checked out even though I booked the room for a week. & of course, the hotel did not offer me a refund for the 6 days that I did not stay. I would never stay here again. There are also hotels for the same price & cheaper for much a much better location & atmosphere.
Our stay at this hotel wasn’t anything special, I’d say it was average and you get what you pay for as it was pretty cheap for being in Times Square. The room was very very small and the bed sheets very thin. We booked a king size room but we’re allocated a room with one double bed. The lady at checkin said it was a king bed (definitely was not), but thankfully she still moved us into a different room with a real king size. The the biggest let down was that valet parking was not available when we were told the day before checking in that it was - we had to find a parking garage and the one they recommended was not close to the hotel so we had a long walk to and from our car.Besides these things, we had a decent stay and can’t complain too much since the location was great and the hotel was cheap. If you’re looking for something more spacious with better amenities, then I’d recommend looking elsewhere.
A Lovely Hotel in midtown. Its located right nextdoor to Port Authority. The rooms are little small (hey its New York, right?), but the furnishings and amenities are excellent. Theres a Peloton in the workout room, and a full-service bar in the lobby.Sorry I forgot to take photos.
Omg wow, so amazed at the customer service! We got this hotel last minute, the check in wasn’t until 3, and they happily let us store our bags until check in. As soon as our room was ready, they TEXTED US! 😍 on top of that: when we checked in, they gave us two drink tickets , a $25 token to use at lobby bar, and when we extended our stay, they upgraded us to a better room with a sick view. ALSO, we wanted to go to rooftop bar, but didn’t have a reservation, but the guy at the lobbby did everything in his power and got us a reservation last minute. Also the location of this is wow, amazing. Great stay, in nyc. Accesible to everything . Would recommend it a millions times
We stayed 5 nights at the Aliz Hotel. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We ate at the on-site restaurant and were pleasantly surprised by the excellent fried chicken! The rooms, as usual in NYC, were snug but cozy. We had to be a little inventive to find space for all of our luggage and we mostly lived out of our suitcases as closet space was limited. Our room was on the 36th floor and we had a great view looking towards Central Park, although we werent able to see the park itself, we could see the towers that border it. The room was very clean and the cleaning staff was great. The beds were pretty comfortable and my whole family had no issues sleeping. The bathroom was a good size with a roomy shower that featured a body wand. The neighborhood is a little on the rough side. The hotel is next to the bus terminal and when returning home one night, we did encounter some aggressive panhandlers and policing situations. After that, we avoided walking past the bus terminal at night and had no further issues. The subway is practically in front of the hotel and we were able to travel quite quickly to all our destinations. Times Square and Broadway were just a short walk from the property. We enjoyed our stay and would likely stay here again.
The location was great 4 minutes walk for the time square , the hotel and the room over all clean and Professional receptionist .My advice for all order your cap to the airport by the reception it’s more cheap from local taxi or Uber and if you lucky they will offer you a limousine same price a sedan car
Hotel has been around for 2 years and it was amazing. Room was a little small but beautiful, clean and I had everything I needed for a 4 day stay. My view of the West Side from my room it was amazing. I could see a building with a helipad. New York City is absolutely beautiful even through a pandemic.
We checked in on Thursday, at check in they charged us the $30+ daily fee and told us about the welcoming cocktails and $25 credit. Friday I went to their website and saw that they should have offered us the citi bike pass as well. Friday evening we asked the front desk lady and she advice we can get it Saturday morning. We planned an eventful day thinking we were able to ride bikes around central park. Saturday morning we went to the front desk to ask for the citi bike pass and the lady said we had to wait for 1pm because she couldn’t do it. We had to modify our plans since we couldn’t access the bikes until after 1pm. From central park at 1:10pm we called asking for the passes and they said in “5 minutes we will have it” after waiting for 2 hours we gave up and paid out of pocket to get bikes. We arrived to the hotel at 7:30pm and told the front lady we never received the passes and instead of showing empathy the front desk put it on us that we didn’t type the emails right. She literally types them in as we are talking to her, and what a coincidence 1 minute after she submits it we get the passes. Front lady never apologizes or anything. We had to check out Sunday 11am and the citi bike pass expired Sunday 5am. I don’t know how they expect us to ride bikes from Saturday night from 7:30pm-5am. They were quick to charge us the daily fee but couldn’t communicate the benefits.
I guess we expected more from this hotel. It’s a lot smaller than expected, our first room had hair all over the sheets & bathroom floor so we asked to move to another room, which was fine, except someone was assigned to the room the next day, was given a key and walked in on us while we were getting dressed!Covers are paper thin and rough, mattresses were extremely worn. And another thing we visited a weekend during the pandemic and did not see a single employee cleaning the common areas one time.
The stars given are for the superb view of the city. I’m in New York for three weeks, and I’m working remotely out of this hotel while looking into places to move here for work. The clientele here is a real challenge to deal with. I should have read the comments more throughly before booking. Here goes. There’s a strong marijuana smell that can leak into your room, it’s a true luck of the draw with hotel neighbors (playing loud music into the night up until 1-2am...or smoking marijuana in rooms), paper thin walls, no blankets, and it’s an overall really small shoebox-sized room. This place would have been more bearable, but they really need to keep their clientele intact in lieu of losing out on future business. I’m probably going to request to move rooms tomorrow because I just can’t sleep at night despite my exhaustion.
It is upsetting to write this review because I wanted to love this hotel so much. My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel on a whim, deciding against the comfort of Hendricks, AC Marriott, or even CitizenM that weve come to love. We can make due with a small room or service on the slower side, but this hotel fell short in many other ways.On their website they boast a deal regarding a $25 dollar credit towards the re-opened rooftop bar or lobby bar - which sounds like a fabulous deal. Not only were we told upon arrival that the rooftop bar is closed, when I asked the bartender if I could cash in the chip at the lobby bar he said the chip was only good for 20% off. I had to speak to a front desk employee who then had to speak to a manager regarding the $25 dollar credit. The fitness studio isnt quite a studio. It is q room with two peloton bikes- one of which wasnt on. Im a fan of peloton but it isnt the full workout you would expect when you hear the phrasing, fitness studio. Most employees we came into contact with seemed unenthusastic to such a degree that we felt we were bothering them with requests for more towels or questions regarding the hotel amenities. I asked the bartender for a specific drink and, perhaps he misheard me, but he made me the complete wrong drink that didnt quite make sense based on my request but between that and the 20% issue I decided to take my whiskey and continue on.What the hotel does offer is prime location. We felt we were within a 20-30 minute walk of all of our favorite spots. The shower was enjoyable with quality water pressure. The hotel was clean. There was no microwave in the room, which is always a bit of a letdown when the hotel also cannot microwave anything for you.I wouldnt say this is a terrible hotel. It isnt worth what we paid, and wasnt the warm welcome we have received in just about every other NY hotel weve been to. But, if youre looking for a clean place to rest your head with little expectation for anything else, this could be perfect for you. Perhaps.
The Hotel was good, rooms were a bit tight but it was inexpensive. The hotel has a club inside witch was really nice. The drinks were kind of pricey, but there were really good. So it was a good night overall. Really tasty drinks, nice vibe, and a room just an elevator away
Pro: location is super close to a major subway station and times square. Con: its a real struggle to avoid all the beggars walking around the area.Pro: the rooms have so many luxury features such as dimmers for every light, soft close doors etc. Con: the features are overkill in such a tiny room.Overall it was an okay hotel but the experience would have been more pleasant if the staff were more friendly and the room less cramped. The bathroom was literally half the size of the room itself.
The entrance and the building itself were beautiful, but inside the rooms were poorly handled. Our room flooded every day we took a shower because there was nothing stopping the water from going all over the floor and on top of that, we had sheets that had stains on them from the previous houseguests. We asked for room service all 3 days, but nobody ever came. Actually, one did once we said the flooding was getting into the room and all they did was use our towels to dry off the area and left the towels there to soak, not even giving us new ones. I have pictures of the stains of the bed, which were disgusting, but not of the flooding which was honestly the worst part.
Best place we stayed all trip. Very clean rooms. Absolutely worth the money. Would stay again. It was very close to everything. 50 steps from the middle of time square and parking super close by. The front desk woman with red hair working the evening around 6 to 8ish on september 7th offered us great customer service. I would like to recognize her for this.
We stayed here for one night in NYC and will definitely come back if we can find a great rate! The staff was welcoming and let us use the restroom downstairs as well as holding our bags for us before checking in. The Aliz is brand new and super clean. Everything is shiny in the lobby and our hotel room. Although the room is small, its so efficiently designed that you have everything you need with no wasted space. Our bed was also very comfortable. All in all, staff was great and our hotel room was everything that we could ask for for a reasonable rate.
Be ready to read 🤪 my personal experience with Aliz Times Square HotelThe only way I will go back is if they offer me a free night and with the condition that everything will be sparks clean specially the bedding and floor. OMG 😲 On Nov 19th I was a guest at the Aliz Times Square Hotel; I arrived very early and my room wasnt ready but I was able to leave my luggage until the room was Clean etcThe lady (Morning) from the front desk who checked me in she was a little bit under stress, I always ask myself why if you choosed to work for the public? After expending almost the whole day walking Brooklyn Bridge/South seaport. I arrived at 4:40 back to the hotel and finally I check-in with another lady, she explain everything about the Rooftop ( I couldnt go because I am not vaccinated) also I was offer a free complimentary drink from the bar and a token of $25 value on breakfast... I got my back my luggage🧳( The luggage keeper he was really nice). My room was on the 19th floor (I had the double room/non smoking), I always take pictures of the room looking for any damage that wasnt done by me because the hotel hold a damage security deposit and of course I want my deposit $$ back 😉I left the 21st and I decided to go downstairs to go and get the free drink (coffee in my case) from the bar/restaurantWith the complimentary drink that I didnt took the day I arrived, the lady from the bar was facing the back to the guest instead facing us; I said Excuse me good morning by the way she was on her cellphone maybe she was hiding her cellphone from her supervisor lol anyway she looked at me like(What do you want) I told her that I have a free drink and if can get a coffee and also I had a token of $25, she said yes you can have a coffee unless you want a drink 🍸 I said no coffee will do (I requested Black Coffee with milk on the side no sugar) she said very rudly no go over there and pour your own sugar) Im like okay lol cool, I asker again about the $25 for breakfast she was rolling her eyes like stressed out she told you dont get a free breakfast it only discounted 25% off breakfast Not Free and you can eat it at the restaurant or take it to your room ( Misleading information from the front desk) she may be tired of explaining the same thing to every hotel guest Is not our faultMaybe because her primary language isnt it English she have an strong accent 🤔 I dont know but the lack of communication between staffs service is bad as I will never go bad nor I will recommend it to anyoneTIPS WARNING ⚠️ NEVER WALK BAREFOOT IN ANY HOTEL ROOMS LOOK AT MY SOCKS NASTY I THROW THEM OUT, ALSO BRING DISINFECTANT!Bad😐Oh hoho here is the best part from this Hotel1. I found hair strands in different colors in the duvet2. The floor (beautiful wood floor) but dirty3. Bathroom is beautiful but have a little bit of mold nothing crazy but it shouldnt have any.4. When me an my husband stayed our TV was not working along with the window shade that comes down to block out the sun. When I went to go take a bath the stopper was not in properly and I had to fix it myself. My husband also noticed black spots when he was in the bath as well.
I stayed here for WrestleMania weekend. The staff was great room was a decent size. Its what is to be expected for times square. The roof top lounge was beautiful. LOCATION is spot on right next to Port Authority. Unfortunately will not be returning to this hotel due to a charge on my card after I left. When I called to ask about the charge I was told it was for a robe for 136! My fiance and I did not touch nor purchase a robe. Since last week I have called several times sent multiple e-mails. I dont recommend staying here if their upper management cannot return a voicemail or e-mail.
Disappointed. Stayed here for our wedding. Room was small and felt like there was nowhere to put or hang anything. Looks nicer in the pics. It was clean, but housekeeping never seemed to show up. They only serviced us once in 4 nights. Housekeeping was on the phone the 2 times we saw her. On the day of our ceremony the steamer in our room was broken. Two phone calls and a trip to the lobby before we got a replacement. Added unnecessary stress to my wedding day. Best part of the hotel was the view from the bar. They allow kids from 2-4 before the bar opens. To top it off they charge a $34/day destination charge that should just be included in the room price. Not fun to be hit with that at check out when you thought you paid in full in advance. Overall I wouldn’t stay here again. If you can get it for a 3 star hotel price, then it’s probably worth it. Way overpriced for what you get.
First of all we were advised that if we booked directly with the hotel it would have been cheaper than online websites. Big mistake, it was more expensive. Young girl at reception had no idea at what she was doing. We were charged for breakfast, and we didn’t ask for breakfast and we never had breakfast there. They charge you an extra $30.00 a day for hotel destination fee, for 2 small bottles of water (which we had to keep on asking to receive) and a gym with only exercise bikes for the guests..... they also charge all these different taxes, so it ends up costing you considerably more than first anticipated and also charge you $150.00 bond in advance in case of room damage. (There is nothing in the room to damage)Staff didn’t give you time of day and would roll their eyes if you wanted to ask them a question. No maps or brochures for things to do in NYC and when you asked them, they had no idea and looked at you like you were an idiot. Having your room cleaned was another nightmare, coming back to hotel room after leaving at 8.00am in the morning and returning at 3.00 pm exhausted, hot and sweaty from all the walking , to find your room hadn’t been made up and when questioned they would Advise they will get on to it and an hour later you are still waiting! This happened three days in a row of our room not being made up till after 4.00 pm. Staff just didn’t care. They just dismissed you or said, we apologise, but that was it. (Check out time, they didn’t give you 5 mins extra time, as they needed to clean the room). No compensation was offered or anything for the inconvenience, instead I had to question the tax invoice at the end, as they had over charged me and kept on making excuses for extra charges. Beds were comfortable, but couldn’t sleep at night due to the air-conditioner being so loud. Actual unit was in your room and noise was deafening. Rooms are tiny and not many amenities provided, and no where to put your suitcases. Hotel lobby smelt fresh and clean, but very small and you always saw people sleeping on the couches. Not very professional. Outside hotel was very dirty, smelly and you would have to step over homeless people sleeping on the ground if you were walking to and fro from hotel. We have stayed at hundreds of hotels and have never had such horrible and negative experience. Staff rude and arrogant, except for ( I think some manager) Sammy. She was the only lovely one there, but unfortunately only saw her once.
Good hotel, central enough without breaking the bank. I didn’t give this location 5 stars because they charge a daily resort fee despite a loose definition of what a resort entails. I would’ve also liked for there to have been a fitness center. This location only included a peloton studio (for those who enjoy spinning) but did include a restaurant on the 1st floor and a rooftop bar area with a balcony. The rooms were small (to be expected) but were up to date. Given the chance, I would stay here again if I intended to stay within Times Square.
My daughter and her boyfriend booked this hotel online and PAID for it. They traveled all the way to the city by themselves on the amtrak. They got to the hotel and because they were only 18 they could not check into the hotel. Now I understand that is a rule for a lot of hotels. But the fact that she was able to pay for it but couldn’t check in is ridiculous. Nowhere did anything say you must be 21 to check in.
Room was small but the bed was amazing. For the fact that it was such a small room it didnt stop how comfortable I was, so thats a plus. The staff was great and attentive. I guess I would go back. I been in better but its still good for the location. Price was right.
I enjoyed my stay here 2/8-2/9. The hotel is located in a great park of Midtown West. Few blocks away from Hell’s Kitchen or if you come for Times Square it’s a quick skip down the road. The hotel room was very clean and modern. I appreciated the friendly staff that greeted you through the hotel. Be sure to check out the roof top bar for a drink and an awesome view from either side of the building. Would stay here again!
Cool hotel! I always try to stay in a non big brand hotel when I travel. That comes with risks - but this time it worked out very well. Great room, great location, awesome rooftop bar. Only complaint is that my door wouldn’t close and lock on its own. I came back to my room on two occasions and it just pushed right open.
First time back to NYC in a few years , booked this hotel pictures looked great, sorry to say big disappointment lobby overcrowded , was told no housekeeping granted, social distance no such thing, elevators two in use rooms are small, checked in after paying hotel fees , two hours later checked out wasnt happy with the hole show, was not asked why I was checking out, probably not bothered establishment have had there money......checked in elsewhere would I use again no....would I recommend...probably not...
Nice hotel, but very small rooms and too many people. Elevator wait time is supposed to be 2 minutes max, but sometimes I’ll be waiting for 5 minutes or more, just to join 10 other cramped souls with luggage. Didn’t help that the amenities we needed were not directly available to us (microwave, 2-bed suite), and that just our luck, a (false) fire alarm went off (twice!) around 6 or 7pm. We were on the 7th floor so if it were a real fire alarm the elevators and 7 flights of stairs would have been a nightmare.I still wouldn’t knock it, though. Overall, even though the rooms were small and our visit wasn’t ideal, at least their customer service and rooms (in terms of decorative) were great. My mom couldn’t stop complimenting the embroidery on their cupboards, and the king size bed was very comfortable to sleep in. Would recommend for single people who want to reside close to TS.
I stayed at this hotel with a friend for a birthday get away and we’re super excited to stay here. We arrived at the room and everything was fine, when we arrived back are room smelled like sulfurous gas it was so unbearable! We asked the front desk to switch out room and they said there were no rooms available. I found that hard to believe. They sent an engineer out and the fridge was leaking a gas and had to remove the fridge. The smell actually got even worst. My friend actually ended up getting sick from the smell. The front desk manager GISELLE was so rude, unapologetic and I accommodating! I can’t believe how terrible the customer service is here! She had the nerve to tell me there is nothing wrong with the room so we’re not accommodating you. Will never stay here again this hotel ruined our whole experience. Stay away!
DO NOT EVEN WASTE YOUR TIME, ENERGY OR MONEY STAYING HERE!! I ONLY GAVE IT ONE STAR BECAUSE I CANT GIVE IT A NEGATIVE 5 STARS!!! I BOOKED MY ROOM THRU THE DAYUSE APP BECAUSE I WORKED A 16 HOUR SHIFT. I GET TO THE HOTEL AT 710AM, THERE ARE ALREADY 3 PPL WAITING TO GET CHECKED IN. THEY HAVE A BRAND NEW EMPLOYEE BY HIMSELF WHO DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO CHECK PPL IN THAT ARE USING THE DAYUSE APP. NO MANAGER SHOWS UP TO HELP OUT. ANOTHER WORKER COMES AFTER ABOUT 40 MINUTES TO SAY THAT THE MANAGER IS NOT ACCEPTING DAYUSE. DAYUSE NEEDS TO TAKE THIS HOTEL OFF OF THERE APP. BUYER BEWARE!!!
This hotel is situated in a very convenient location in Times Square. Theres always a subway within walking distance. The rooms are updated with sufficient amenities although its a bit small but hey, this is NYC. Great value for the rates they charge. Also beware of the destination/resort fee (about $30). The rooms were super clean and the bathroom is very neatly designed: marble floors and walls.
Despite all the small things, like the extremely annoying and lengthy fire alarm inspection that occurred during my stay, Id totally return. This hotel is chic! Staying at this hotel made me feel like a boujee king. The view from my room was stunning, the elevators were amazingly fast and stylish, and this place just gave me a chill vibe! Keep up the great work, Aliz Hotel. Ill be back one day!
It was mistake to stay in this hotel customer service so rude 0 helpful this people Scamming there Custmer on deposit . I didint get my deposit till now my check out was on 31 June and when you call them they say any think my last call they say you will receive your money instantly still didint receive nothing they keep they keep hanging up the phone on your face that’s what they like to do pepole. So so rude trash I hope no body he’s going to have the same experience
I stayed for a night. The staff were nice and helpful. The breakfast in the morning if not apart of the room was 30 a person. My only negatives was that the elevators were small and usually were packed on the way down so you had to either take the stairs or wait for another elevator to hopefully not be full and an hour before check out they disabled my room key which added an extra 20 minutes of waiting so we had to rush by the time we got to our room.
A lot of potential. Good rooms. Good location. But they need to do something about the experience and service staff. Insane long waiting time to get my stored luggage. More then 29 min. Really. Then your staff at the desk are quite confused about everything. Also, once we got our bags I went into our car to wait for the others to get their bags (used valet parking that they charge more then they said upfront). However, then a dude walks up and wants me to stop blocking the entrance. Come on. Get your shot together.
Very nice hotel and safe area. It’s very modern and European style so the rooms are a little small. But three of us stayed in there comfortably. For the price I think it was above average of what you can find in NYC. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Will stay here again.
Hotel is nice. Stayed in a king room with a balcony. Will definitely stay in the room with a balcony again when its nicer out. Hotel restaurant is good. Location is very good. The rooftop bar was newly opened when we stayed and it was an amazing view at night. It saved me the time and money of going on the empire State building again at night for this trip. I highly suggest going up there for the view even if you arent a bar fan. There is a sitting room on the opposite side.If you are lucky enough to deal with Kit, the British lady at the front desk, make sure to have her help you with places to visit and food to eat. She is amazing.Only cons there were with the hotel:The elevator wait during peak times. And there is only one robe in the room.
I would give a negative star if I could. My reservation was canceled because of the weather. My room was paid in full and when I called to ask if I could come on Tuesday instead of Sunday keeping my same reservation I was told that I would have to rebook an entirely new reservation after they took my money from the initial reservation. The last thing that I will be doing is ever staying at this hotel or ever rebooking a reservation with them. This is just bad business.
Registration was quick and easy. The room was very nice, big bed, bathroom and view. The elevators are very fast. The location close to the time of the square and Penn station was very convenient.Great location and the bar on the 40th floor is very good and has a great view. Once again I want to say for a great view from the bar also free. Very good choice of hotel in New York.
TLDR; this hotel lost my luggage (it was stolen) when I stayed there back in October 2019 and they’ve yet to do anything to make it right.I was visiting on a work trip, checked out of my room in the morning and checked my bag at the valet before heading out for some meetings. I was given a ticket with the location of my bag (which they had changed a few times before I had left - the process felt very chaotic and disorganized) and was told it would be secured in the small room for luggage just behind the front desk.Later, with a healthy buffer before my train ride home - I stopped back at the hotel to pick up my luggage. After looking around for about 40 minutes front desk staff said they were sure they would locate the bag by tomorrow, but would have to ship it to me so I didn’t miss my train. They admitted that sometimes they store luggage in vacant guest rooms and that they weren’t sure which one it had been moved to. I also noticed that they had 2 bellhop carts stacked all the way to the ceiling with other guest’s luggage, sitting in the publicly accessible part of the lobby, around the corner from the front desk area. The next day they called me to let me know that they had reviewed the security footage and could confirm that my bag was “permanently lost.” Throughout this process they were extremely apologetic and professional but they have not handled this situation well outside of that. The manager asked me to come up with a list of the items, and I spent an hour or two in a spreadsheet documenting items. After I sent it over to them, they said I would have to work directly with their insurance company, which resulted in spending more hours documenting (do you know the exact date of when you last bought socks?!).Now about 6 months later, I still haven’t heard any communication of how this will be resolved and I really think its ridiculous that they didn’t want to resolve this quickly with their guest’s happiness as a priority.
Just arrived the city, came to this hotel. And shocked I was by the treatment of the front receptionist lady she was/is so devoid of morals its disgusting. Should I mention the oversized/obese bouncer that came to her rescue when I confronted her? And all of this for what you ask? Because she linked me to someone that resembles me.What a Day!Rescue your dignity, rescue your hard-earned money and go elsewhere.
Very small room. View of concrete despite asking for a nice view as we are celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. Foyer small and full of people lying around waiting for transport. Restaurant is a burger bar and expensive. This hotel is way too expensive and a major disappointment. On the plus size the bed is fabulous and the fittings are all excellent quality.
Brand new hotel. The views are outstanding and the staff was extremely nice. I especially loved all the technology in the room - USB ports everywhere, cove mood lighting around the bed, heat lamp in the bathroom, and automated temperature control. My favorite thing may have been the bathrobe though - the SOFTEST ever. The location was phenomenal!
Location, location, location! The rooms are quite small. The hotel opened newly so everything looks good. The room cleaning was not always to top standards. The breakfast was pricy and nothing to shout hooray about - but we ended up with eating out anyways. All in all, the location for this hotel is really its asset. Its close to Times Square. Its just next to the Port authority terminal were buses and subways leave from.We had a King Size bed room with balcony. I would definitely not spend the money on this room again because 1) the room is on the 4th floor so the balcony doesnt really give any view just noise, and 2) the view is definitely not good.Would I book this hotel again? Yes, definitely. Price and location is the major reason!
Worst hotel in NYC. Started from front desk to the general manager named Sammie. My family and I were just there for four days. We reserved two rooms. At the time we made the reservation we made sure to ‘request’ 2 pack and plays since i have two toddlers. I also personally called one week before to make sure since we are traveling from Florida. When we checked in, my husband asked again for the pack and plays. The front desk stated it will be right up and not to worry. We went to dinner which was about an hour and when we got back- we only had one pack and play. My husband called the front desk and they stated the other one is coming right up. An hour passes, my husband calls again. The manager got in the phone and right away started arguing with my husband saying we only requested 1 and it was a request so it’s not promised. My Husband stated he understood but no one has communicated that with us since we have been the ones calling and was told it was coming right up. I went down to speak to the manager myself and she was very unapologetic and unprofessional. I was shocked how she was speaking to me in regards to the pack and play that I personally requested numerous times and was told when I got there I was coming right up! Other than this, the hotel was still bad. Rooms were the size of a closet- I know it’s New York but we’ve stayed here before and the rooms were way bigger. Every time we asked for towels, pillows or anything else it was NEVER brought to us! Won’t ever stay here again! Stay away!
· Where to begin. I was EXTREMELY disappointed in our stay. This was supposed to be my husband and my mini honey moon and we spent 800 dollars for two nights. We requested a deluxe king suite room And when we walked into a room where we couldn’t Even move around our suit cases, we were so disappointed. No bath tub. Only had one bath robe. The bed was amazing but after a good nights sleep we went out exploring the whole day and came home to change for our dinner and show but the room had not been serviced. I called front desk to ask if we could get our room serviced but they said they were running behind so unfortunately our room would not be serviced that day. Unacceptable. Then I asked For new toiletries and towels so we could shower. We waited 30 minutes and no one came up. We used dirty towels and had no shampoo or conditioner. When we returned later that night we had three towels thrown on our messy bed and a plastic bag thrown on the dirty sink with shampoo and body wash. No conditioner. We also did not receive any fresh wash cloths. They also didn’t remove any of the dirty towels. I was so beyond disappointed with this experience. We spent 800 dollars on this room and had much higher expectations for at least servicing of the room. Never again.
The location is ideal for Times square. Its on a filthy street but if you can look past that while walking to and from, the hotel is clean. The rooms are comfortable and the reception staff are friendly. Im deducting 1 star for the poor house keeping. We stayed 4 days and 2 of those days no house keeping was done, even though we had been out of the room for 8hours. I had to call up both times to get clean towels. I found this really poor service considering I paid $370USD/night for the room.
I cant say enough about the Aliz Hotel. My husband and I are from Long Island and needed a much overdue escape. From the time we checked in with Marcus to being assisted with valet parking with Sammy, we couldnt have chosen a better Hotel. Marcus was so welcoming and helpful. Everyone had smiles on their face and looked to truly enjoy their place of employment. the hotel was so clean and had this beautiful aroma to it. The food in Farm to Burger and the bar on the 40th floor was amazing. The appetizers we ordered were out of this world The views from our room and the bar on the 40th floor is what caught my eye when making my decision and let me say...DID NOT DISAPPOINT. The skyline at night was so romantic and the outside balcony was perfect. This will be our getaway on a regular basis. I highly recommend the Aliz Hotel!!
I will say up front that I felt the hotel to be a bit pretentious, but overall, we had a good stay.Positives:The location is pretty convenient to many attractions, and the bell staff and housekeeping are amazing. The rooms are small, but efficiently organized, though I could live without having a mirror on the inside of the bathroom door right in front of the toilet. The beds were a bit soft for my taste - I prefer a firm mattress and these were at best a medium. Plenty of pillows, clean bedclothes, and an efficient workspace rounded out the room. The bathroom was small but again efficient, though you should allow a bit more time than usual for hot water to get there - we were on the 7th floor, and it took a couple of minutes for the warm to show up. The rooms were also fairly sound-isolated. We could hear if something heavy was dropped in the room above, but we couldnt hear most of the street noise with the exception of larger truck horns.OKs:There was one closet in the room, and after hanging two suits, four shirts, and a couple pairs of slacks, thats about all it would hold. There is no drawer storage, as the only drawer holds a rather large safe. There was also a Keurig and a clothes steamer in the closet, which took up space, but theres really nowhere else to put it in the room. The WiFi was questionable, though it had a decent signal most of the time. Connectivity wasnt an issue, but bandwidth was - I am self-employed and much of my work for clients is online, and there were some major issues with throughput. The built-in USB power ports on the desk and by the beds were VERY low power. Charging a phone from 25% took over an hour, and charging an iPad was abysmally slow. And, though there is a window, the view is of another hotels windows.Negatives:For a hotel that brags about high speed elevators, the wait for an elevator seemed excessively long most times. I frequently had to wait over five minutes for an elevator, though I could hear them passing the floor. This made me wonder if certain guests or floors had priority? The front desk staff was disorganized. We arrived early (around 11 am) and checked in, and left our phone numbers and e-mails so they could let us know when our room was ready. That did not happen. When we finally checked in, we asked and were told, Oh, I guess we forgot. Unacceptable for this expensive of an establishment.Overall:The hotel was clean, and the staff obviously took pride in their jobs (with the exception of the front desk). I will be leaving a separate review for the Dear Irving at the Aliz bar on the 40th and 41st floors. I didnt want to nail the hotel for the actions of just a few employees, and that review will NOT be as nice.
This hotel is amazing. First of all there is a peloton studio. I stayed on the 39th floor, which i think is the last guest floor, and the views were amazing! The room is so cute and ultra modern. I love the dimming lights attached to the headboard. The bathroom has a warming light, and instead of an iron the room has a steamer. You also get two free bottles of water a day. The bed was super comfy and the pillows were as well. This is a perfect location to things in NYC where its not right in the middle of times square but close enough to Times Square you could walk there frequently if you wanted to. There is a Duane Reade on the corner, access to 7 train, and even better access to Port Authority right across the street so you can go anywhere in the city.
Shayna was phenomenal! She was friendly and knowledgeable. Great personality 😍👌. We loved our stay here and it is our new home away from home in NY. I highly recommend this fairly new hotel. Zach directed us to many great eats. Felt like family and though I cant remember everyones names they were all helpful, pleasant, friendly and always smiling.
A mixed lot. Very mixed. Its touted as a cute boutique hotel. It has great potential. But it needs work. It needs elevators that work. The decor and design in general is top notch. For almost $500 a night the weeks before Christmas; the bar that is advertised on the roof top- for which you get poker chips for a discount - actually needs to be open. Room service needs to do a better job and not forget washclothes and toiletries. Staff at check in needs to crack a smile. I am not talking about over the top fake smiles, but a smile would go a long way. The barn doors as the bathroom door need a stopper because they will cut fingers off. As an artist, I need my finger tips. This door almost did away with two of them. Ps: the elevator was making a phone call and transmitting a busy signal while it went the opposite way than directed. For the umpteenth time. No bedbugs though...
The customer service was excellent, especially Edgordo, Diana Natalia and Bronson Johnson. They made our stay really special. In our experience, this is the best hotel in Times Square. It was very reasonably priced as well! The hotel is immaculately clean and comfortable. Stay here for a great experience in NYC!
The service in this hotel is very poor.Theres always long lines,Backed up elevators or Broken elevators.Poor service at the front desk.Even the room service if you want to do a late check out I suggest put a sticky note on the door so the house keeping doesn’t essentially barge in since clearly in addition to bad service the staff communication is just as bad. They add in a extra charge when you check in to essentially force you to eat at the restaurant here. The service there is terrible. The Long wait times and having to order things repeatedly really gets annoying.Plus being someone who works in hospitality this is the first time I’ve been charged to different dollar amounts for the same drink in one sitting.Which apparently is a policy here so if you want another drink to go with ur meal prepare to pay more than you did for the first one.The food itself is average at best.I’ve had better experiences service and food wise from “lower rated” restaurants. How this place got rated as a four star hotel is mind boggling.Long story short this place could work in a pinch but if your looking for a nice hotel experience I would try else were.
The hotel charges $75 per night for incidentals which I wasnt advised of at the time of booking. Additionally, there is only one robe per room which was a bit disappointing. Also, there was no fan in the bathroom which made the room very humid after a shower and there was no way to turn on the side lamp only. The hotel also has a very strong perfume smell so be wary if you are sensitive. Overall, it was clean and the furnishings are pretty, Wood floors in the room are a nice touch.
Nice decor. Room was ready early. Clean. Nice view from 40th floor lounge. Room darkening shade worked very well. Nice room amenities. Comfortable bed. Key card security in elevator. Check out was quick and they held our luggage for the day. Reasonably priced. Great location. These are the pros. Now the cons:Very, very small. Small lobby, small bar in lobby. Lobby bathroom was 2 sets of stairs down under the lobby. Very small room. Bathroom door was a sliding door and had a mind of its own. My friend actually got trapped in her bathroom when the sliding door got stuck shut. We called for help at the front desk but they didnt send anyone. Fortunately my friend was not alone in her room and her son called us to come help. We got the door open after several tries. No thanks to the staff😙 Upon check in, we were told that the lounge on the 40th floor was open 4-12. We went at 5 and were informed it was only for patrons. Open for views from 2-4. Had we known this from check in, we would have gone up earlier. Also, it is for 21 and older. We went up later that night and there was a private party so one whole side of the building was closed off. The girl in the lobby was very rude about proper attire for this lounge and made a comment about my shoes ( which I have to wear because of my orthotics).
Room was great bed was comfortable!!! Great view really nice rooftop view & location is awesome too!!! I also greatly appreciate they let me check in early i got around 9am because that is the time my bus got to N.Y. they let me check in to rest will definitely be back!!!
Very nice hotel, decor is lovely and check in/ staff were excellent. Only 2 complaints would be the elevators, as they were oddly useless, seemed to take forever for one of the 3 to arrive. And the location of the hotel was down a road with some questionable people passing through, but maybe thats just nyc
A nice hotel In a good location. I would probably stay here again. The rooms are extremely small but the staff is really good. I tried the peloton bike which was nice but I didnt really like that space. The breakfast was not good at all!! If you are in NYC you want to be close to Times Square and this place is close. You shouldnt be eating at the hotel because the city has great places to eat. There you have it
Rooms very very small. Nickel and dime you to death w fees for bottled water etc. You can’t get a drink at the upstairs bar without reservations. etc. front desk lost packages delivered to hotel, and did not have correct reservations requested months before arrive. Too few elevators for number of quests. No freight elevators so staff hauling carts etc in customer elevators. Front desk very confused about check in process. Etc. Would not recommend this hotel.
So i stayed her for a night to celebrate my sisters birthday. It was convenient and accessible. What stood out to me was that they had pretty competitive parking pricing, Had I not had a car, who knows.Anyway, I arrived early, They were GREAT with the valet and holding our stuff until check in. We tried to check in early but rooms were still filled.. WE returned about 30 minutes after check in to find out that our room wasnt ready because someone hadnt left the room we were supposed to be in or something. We were asked to return in about an hour. That didnt work for me. I explained that we had plans and that that would be too much of an inconvenience. Shortly after, another employee stepped in and gave us another room. Perfect.Just like a lot of other rooms in NYC, they are small for the amount you pay but it worked! We had a great view (we opted for the higher level rooms). Rooms are nice, dont bring top much stuff...I feel like we had a smooth stay, We werent there for too long so pretty in and out.Per usual theres hella fees that you pay in NYC that you dont pay elsewhere so be prepared for that. Staff was niceI also like that they hold your bag when you have to check out as well but arent leaving immediately. So thats great.Uhmm, parking. I think we got there around 1/2pm and checked out 11 but picked our up around 1? and parking ended up being like 75 dollars plus $6.66 of tax so make sure you budget for that if you bring a car..Overall we had a great stay, Its super close to Times Square and just about any and everything else!
Whats not to love about the Aliz Hotel? New, great staff, centrally located near the theater district, restaurant district, and just about everything else in mid-Manhatten. There are two nice restaurants in the hotel, with the Dear Irving on the 41st floor overlooking the Hudson River. Really romantic. Latest technology. Great safety, comfortable beds, really fast elevators. Wow!

2022-06-04I stayed last year here and I am staying once again this year. Great place to stay, very clean and the staff is awesome. I got very sick the last day they were so awesome called the ambulance and I was taken to the hospital quickly. The next day they allowed me to do late check out because I stayed the night at the hospital. Then I needed a taxi for my flight home and they were able to get a limousine for the same price of a normal car. It made me feel so special and awesome after a horrible night. Thank you and I cannot wait to see you guys in a few weeks.

Room was ready early and we were upgraded to a nice size room with a large bathroom. Room was clean, shower was hot, linen clean.Yes, the elevator was a bit slow but not a. Problem.. Will stay again. Staff friendly and helpful.Hotel in good location.

2022-05-02Great location, easy check in and nice gesture of $25 dollars to spend.Rooms were nice and modern however floor wasnt mopped in the 4 days we stayed and under the bed the fluff was so bad my sinuses were playing up.Fresh towels at all times but the cleaning of the room could be of a better standard.Lost my earing the the room and was unable to find it , contacted reception and sent an email with a picture of it and the rubbish under the bed.Email was never replied to.

2022-06-15They say that good things come to those whowait. As we scoured through endless hostelsand hotels not knowing if would have a place tostay for the night, we stumbled upon Aliz. A rosethat grew from concrete. The reasonable (for NYC) pricing coupled with the salubrious atmosphere was an idyllic start to our city break. Although not necessary, the 2 drinks and token breakfast were symbolic of all that is good in the Big Apple. If you find yourself waltzing the streets of Broadway, navigating all that is Times Square, or simply experiencing New York for what it is, know that Aliz is never far.

2022-04-14It was my first time coming to NYC and decided to stay at Aliz. Honestly, despite the slight annoyance with the elevators (as many others have mentioned), the staff and the room made it worth it.Rooms were very clean and soundproof. I had zero issues with noise and felt safe throughout my entire stay. To gain entry inside, you’d either have to tap your room key or buzz the front desk staff. Even to go up to your room, you’d need to use your room key.Staff were also very quick with email responses! I had a slight issue with my booking due to a flight cancellation and the staff, namely, Valentine Olaleye was super pleasant, accommodating and helped me with my reservation. Will definitely be back!

2022-01-18Stopped by to kill a few hours and I must say the hotel is quiet beautiful. From the mini bar, to customer service, to the rooms. I enjoyed everything. The rooms are on the smaller side but I didnt mind it, still thought the ambiance and aesthetic was super pleasing. Will definitely be coming back again.

2022-05-08Last week I was celebrating my birthday 🎂🥳 with my husband and son, we loved the room on the 20th floor it is elegant with a unique view of NYC, the hotel is located 8 minutes from Time Square, the staff is very professional and polite in their way of speaking and giving the service to us as guests, we had valet parking, I recommend this service for everyone although it is an extra charge, it is a very good service to avoid tickets in NY! I want to thanks the staff and manager at Aliz for making my birthday so special. I hope to come back soon!

2022-06-21Me and my Friend came to New York for 7 Days and stayed at this Hotel. From start to finish the stay was excellent! The staff could not be any more helpful and the room itself was very nice to stay in. The hotel was also perfectly located between most popular spots in NYC. I would recommend this hotel to anyone else and would happily stay here again!

2021-12-28I was pleasantly surprised we were able to check in early. Room had two beds and was comfortable for two friends. The selling point for us in chosimgthis hotel was the rooftop bar. When we arrived we were told that reservations are required and they were booked for the duration of our stay. We were very upset about this. We eventually were able to get in, and loved the view! So, be sure to plan ahead and book a reservation for the bar in advance. The lobby bar was literally a counter in the lobby with no stools. And, as others have mentioned, the bartender was not friendly and he closed at 10 PM on the dot.Overall, it was a great location and I’d stay again.(Oh-there was no top sheet on the beds. Maybe that’s a millennial thing? I haven’t seen that at a hotel before!)

2022-05-23Always convenient and very clean. Its my go to for a night stay or if I need something short. Great location and even though the rooms are small, it still feels sufficient for 2 people. Bathrooms are clean and functional. Hallways are clean and elevators work without issues.
