My only complaint. . .is the lighting situation in the room. Theyre fairly dim and the 12 light switches for the 4 lights, is a bit confusing. The rooms are clean! The staff is friendly and courtesy and the Allegria Omelet is DELICIOUS!!! My room didnt come with a full view of the beach (didnt request) but it still actually had a nice view.I would DEFINITELY stay here again.
The good...beautiful views of the boardwalk, elegant decor, restaurant menu limited, food was ok, clean, server was polite and attentive. DO NOT USE the valet service Elegant Valet Parking. When we were ready to leave, no valets to be found. Maybe they are getting cars? Nope, 3 valets stumble up after a more than 20 minute wait. They take a bunch of tickets and disappear for another 25 minutes. They double charged a family member and would not refund the difference. Spoke to hotel front desk and they informed the inconvenienced guests that valet parking had nothing to do with them. Well they park cars in YOUR garage and are parking YOUR guests cars!
There are not many words I can use to describe what a disappointment this hotel is. The poor service and untrained staff were apparent in multiple areas. Let’s begin with the front desk attendants. They told me to keep checking back every 15 mins for 4 times while waiting to check in after the scheduled check-in time. Each time they told me my room was not ready as they gave the same room away to the people checking in right in front of me. After the 4th time trying to check in, they just said we will call you when the room is ready. Once I was finally checked in (2 hours later), the room had trash left outside the door, there was holes the size of dimes in the shower walls (this was in multiple rooms according to other guests). The bathrooms had rusted hardware and overall, a general lack of maintenance in the rooms. In the dining area of the hotel, the breakfast the area was filthy. You could tell the white leather couches were brown from no appropriate cleaning and the floors were dingy and damaged. From the parking attendants who couldn’t even open a door for a woman with her hands full, to the poor service and lack of maintenance all around. This hotel was a disappointment and not worth the price whatsoever. If absolutely don’t need to stay on the beach, save the money and book elsewhere.
This place feels like it was once nice, but has since been bought by an owner who wants to wring every last cent out of it. There is no room service, despite the website indicating otherwise. The bathroom is poorly designed and the water pressure is abysmal. The furniture is sparse and cheap. The bed is made without a fitted sheet, just a top sheet tucked over it, and the sheets feel awful. You can hear EVERYTHING through the doors. Theres a maintenance hole in the wall of the closet that is just uncovered and hanging out. The staff seems overworked and spread thin, as well as generally uninformed. For the price, its is NOT worth it.
The stay at this hotel was short but great. I went on a mom daughter vacation and we enjoyed our room with an Oceanview. The restaurant had great service small portions. The dessert was amazing! The service at the bar was lacking I sat at the bar for 30 mins I was not knowledge and not getting a drink. But the best part of the hotel was that I never had to leave during my stay. There was plenty to do in the area and in the hotel.
We checked in for one nights stay and paid 425 dollars. The room was dirty, and filthy and the bed sheets are ripped off after my request the cleaned the room and replaced the sheets but there are so many things to do to be done. The walls are dirty and marked all over. The toilet is chipped off. I have mentioned the front desk, she is very rude she doesnt apologize I would not recommend and not stay anymore.
Our connecting flight was cancelled, so the airline put us up at Allergia for 2 nights. The accommodations are nice. Nothing super luxury but nice, clean and comfy. Like a Best Western. Nice soft bedding. The rain shower is a nice feature, as are the Aveda toiletries. I was surprised there was no full length mirror or a luggage rack in the room. For a hotel that describes itself as luxury this sort of thing should be standard in every room. The restaurant downstairs - Atlantica - is lovely. Beautiful interior with perfect ocean views. Food was excellent and service superb. All staff are nice, courteous and accommodating.
Despite the prime beachfront location, the Allegria Hotel is disappointing. The hotel doesnt feel very clean or updated. The room felt somewhat dirty and the duvet cover was visibly stained. In the bathroom, there was evidence of a shoddy construction job (e.g. gap between the counter and the wall, visible wood used to fill in drywall). Unfortunately for Long Beach, this seems to be the biggest and most prominent hotel.
I am from Long Beach so never stayed at a hotel there. But this was great! Very nice room and a great bar and restaurant. A plus off you speak Russian .. its apparently the Aeroflot go to hotel. The boardwalk at sunrise cant be beat.UPDATEThis hotel needs to immediately stop all business with Aeroflot. No more flight crews. Let them fly home and stay.
The hotel is getting worse. Staff fighting in the hall way this morning! For the amount of money that it costs to stay in Allegria, no complementary breakfast, the Atlantic restauron the premises is ridiculous expensive, parking on premises is 40 a day. It costs 300 a night to stay in this hotel and no complementary breakfast.
My son’s wedding was Saturday Jan 15, 2022 at the Bridgeview in Island Park. We used the Allegria Hotel for some of our guests who stayed Saturday into Sunday to avoid driving home late. Also, a few out of towners stayed from Friday to Sunday! I’m writing this review based on accommodations, after party at the bar on the mezzanine Saturday night and Sunday’s brunch! First, my son’s bride was able to block rooms at a very reasonable rate! Needless to say the location was spectacular being on the Long Beach boardwalk! The accommodations were great and overall cleanliness of the hotel was fantastic! I must say the Hotel employees were fabulous! The front desk clerk was very nice, cheerful and accommodating especially with early check in!!! The after party bartenders on Saturday night were amazing and welcoming to those who showed up!!! The next day Brunch was fantastic and the food was great! The Maitre’d was wonderful and attentive as well as his staff! I would like to Thank all the staff that was involved with my sons wedding weekend making it an awesome memory that will last a lifetime!!!
We paid a lot for the hotel to celebrate my birthday. There was a wedding in the hotel the same day. Every night of our stay the guests in the adjoining room banged on the wall (drunk), shouting, talking loud and all this in the middle if the night. The walls are so thin people waiting for elevator talked and it felt they were inside our room. The security did go in and asked them to shut up but that did not help. Worst stay so far in the US.
I went to the hotel, the check-in was 4:00 pm, but the room weren’t ready. That’s ok. After waiting I asked about to use the pool and I said that’s ok I will wait for the room. I went to the room about 7:30. I was going to get a shower, but the wall at the shower and the floor was full of hair. I called the front desk and I was explaining the problem. They said ok we’ll fix it. I came back 12: 00 am and the shower was as I left it.
We were told the room would cost around $210 but when we got our receipt and credit card charge it was $272.43. The receipt claimed a resort fee of $50-$60. The room itself was nothing to write home about and was not worth that much for one night. I called several times and left messages on different peoples voicemails asking for a callback but did not receive any.
I was going to order a food on the bar at 8 45 pm because i was told that kitchen is closed at 9 pm. And i was told if i order before 8 50, it is ok.I wanted to order a pizza becase my daughter want it. One bartender came to me and said he is taking care of other customers and other bartender wiill come soon, but other bartender came almost at 9pm and said kitchen is closed... why first bartender couldnt take my order? Next day i checked out and hotel charged me 3day resort fees even though i stayed one night! I told front desk and she corrected it.
My opinion .. its a overpriced hotel .. Also make sure you get room with view .. otherwise you will end up in a jail type view.. looking at walls 360 degrees .. Prices in restaurant is like in a Manhattan so get your food with you guys ..The worst is their cancelation policy .. do think twice before overpaying
Positive: Location Negative: Room was terrible.no coffee maker no hair dryer. Terrible view ac units on the roof right outside my window. Couldnt see any sky at all from my window. Just the Wall of another building and the roof. Totally not worth $---. Also no bath tub.
We attended a wedding held on site. The hotel is beautiful and the employees were lovely. The check in experience was utterly chaotic. The staff tried valiantly to accommodate everyone, but people were waiting over an hour to get their rooms. When i asked if they would text me with the next availability, they said no, I should keep checking back. It was quite frustrating. The rest of the stay was nice. The rooms were clean and very modern. I would recommend the Alegria
My husband and I recently stayed here so we could visit family, and we had a nice time. The staff members were friendly, and the room and facilities appeared clean. Our hotel room, and in particular bathroom, were great; though bear in mind this is an older building and may have been converted into a hotel, and thus the layout from room to room is probably quite different. There were two things that will give us pause the next time we need accommodations in the area, 1. The hotel apparently hosts parties, and those parties can not only be loud but they literally shook the building! Another guest actually asked us if we felt the building shaking too and we confirmed this. And, 2. The lack of mask enforcement.I know this is a very touchy subject, unfortunately, and it shouldnt be, my husband and I are both health care providers and we wear masks all the time to protect ourselves and to protect others. In this context with these types of masks their purpose is to help filter what comes out of the persons nose and mouth who is wearing it, but they do relatively little to protect that person from what others are breathing out. So, when I wear a mask it is for everyone else, and when other people dont wear them its like a big, potentially infectious middle finger. We were seeing elderly family members, some who are in failing health, and we did not want to expose them to any illness. We tested negative right before we left so the chances are slim given the incubation period, but being in the elevator with unmasked guests made us very uncomfortable none the less.
If I could give this zero stars I would. Went to a wedding Saturday. Check in was supposed to be 3pm as they were honoring “ early check in “ for wedding guests. Well the lobby was packed no rooms were ready until 420 and the ceremony started at 430. The front desk didn’t know what they were doing. Total disaster. Get into our room. Filthy dirty. Dirty linens dirty bathroom. View of disgusting construction. The wedding. If you can even call it that. Worst wedding of our lives. No food for cocktail hour. A half a*s plate of veggies if u can even call that food. After starving they bring out a pitiful buffet of hot dogs and not pigs in a blanket cold gross boiled hot dogs , fried rice cold and hard , beef on stick Chinese style , Chinese chicken also inedible and potatoes that were boiled. Nothing was edible. Horrible insult of a wedding again you can’t even call it that. Next morning an abrasive malehousekeeper breaks into the room at 935 am and goes time to leave even though check out was 11. Disgusting disaster disgrace trash. Trash wedding. Trash hotel. Trash experience.
Positive: Hotel overall was chic & trendy for the location. Lounge/bar was great. Did not eat there but heard restaurants were very good. Location on the Boardwalk and beach was fantastic. We took long walks every day. Surrounding neighborhood is excellent! Negative: Gym was not open but enjoyed waking the 4 mile boardwalk more.
The only reason I am even Im writing a review is because I want to let other people know how my stay was horrible. The problems during my stay were; shower handle fell off, the shower nozzle for the tub didnt work. I had the engineer man in my room more then I care to mention. Other problem were noise from other room, ice machine did not work. The room was cold and the heat didnt work properly. Basically my stay was so very stressful.
This is a family friendly hotel! It was perfect for my husband and two kids. The pool is on the roof and not too deep, very good for kids who arent swimmers. The beach is literally steps away. They have valet service if you want but literally parking is everywhere. The staff was sweet and very accommodating and polite. They upgraded our room to a kings suite and only charged us part of the price! The restaurant was pretty fancy and the food was great. We enjoyed steak, scallops and salmon at very good prices considering this is NY. I am definitely bringing my family back next summer for another stay-cation.
Stayed Thanksgiving night - told us parking was free in the garage for that night. Would have never parked in the garage otherwise. Later found a $40 charge on my card for parking. Called the hotel - told that the garage is run by a third party and to call them. No answer when I called, but actually got a call back from the owner/manager. He in fact found out that we were told parking was free and he is sending me a check. Stand up. The hotel itself is ok. The room was absolutely nothing special. The view from the restaurant is superb. 4 stars because of the stand up garage owner.
This hotel starting from the General Manager all the way to the housekeeping department are extremely rude, unprofessional. My friend celebrated her wedding and her dress went missing, she also purchased valet parking in the amount of $1,500 and her guests were treated very poorly. Please dont waste your money at this place! Its a total joke!! Run!!!! They promote that they are a 4 star hotel when in fact they act and treat their guests like if their guests are staying at a motel!!!!
It seems Google Reviews is the only way to get a response from the Hotel. My bank statements show proof of the $1500 overcharge from Allegria so I am unsure why your records are not accurate or if the hotel is simply too disorganized to find records of the payment. As mentioned in my initial review, I have made numerous attempts to call Allegria, I have tried to contact the manager, to contact Helena Arellano, to contact Glen, I have received no response from anyone, nor does anyone answer the telephone in the Allegria hotel.I would like the email address of the manager, and the name of the company that owns Allegria as this scam has been ongoing for 3 months now.
I was totally shocked at the check-in experience and long wait. Under staffed and poorly managed. Not to be expected by a hotel in this price range. Took about an hour to check in. The staff did the best they could. I feel sorry for them having to work under those conditions. Thankfully our room was ready, unlike other people checking in the same time we did. The electricity went out as we were checking in and had to walk through utility area and take dirty stairwell up seven flights of stairs. Thankfully nice kitchen staff member saw us trying to carry our heavy luggage and insisted on carrying it for us. The staff did the best they could, but management is definitely at fault in this case.
Went for a wedding. So glad we cancelled our room. One, of only two, elevators didnt work ( they didnt mark it out of order). Imagine all the guests, a few at a time, going to the rooftop for the ceremony. Mens room inside door handle broken, so you couldnt close the door. The cocktail hour was sub par and minimal. Only a few tables for all the guests. Wait for that one elevator back down to the banquet room. The family had to provide their own centerpieces And set then up. The chairs were painted, and the paint was peeling off. The filet mignon was delicious, though. They present themselves as a luxury hotel, but it is far from. Nothing about this place is luxury. We cancelled our room due to the lack of customer service. Upon cancelling, they told us we could not, so we turned it over to the credit card for dispute. Over $300/night for a room.Overpriced and overrated.
Pricyfor no reasonbecausethe place is horrible!!!!!!Bed bugs on the bed.Heat stops working over night. The staff are completely unprofessional.Felt harassed by security.Got robbed by housekeeping. (For a weeding dress)My car was stolen over night by the valet parking workers. Will never be coming back and definitely not recommended!!!!!!!
It was barely OK- this hotel used to be upscale but not anymore ! The bar area is sloppy - food & service is lacking big time. Very expensive rooms for a cheap experience. The only perk is the beach. The rooftop pool was messy , unorganized and they need more wait staff. The only positive thing I can say is our bellman was fantastic in his service since they had to switch our room 3 x locking us out of our current room with all are belongings in it . They tried to compensate by upgrading us but it was literally the same room with partial ocean view ! I doubt we will be returning here
I had Family Vacation recently and I booked a Room. Room was NOT clean as I expected, there was lots of dust on mirror and bed was not good at all. Some parts of the Bed has broken (down part of the bed) which was totally unexpected. However, Food was awesome in the Restaurant and Ocean View was Excellence. We had a good time except Room Cleaning and Bed Issue. I hope Hotel Management Team will more keep focus on Cleaning of the Room and so on!
Great location. And that’s about it. Check in process is disgraceful. Bedding is a sheet and a blanket that feels like a gritty towel. Partial ocean view is decent but the windows are covered with a cloudy film and you can’t open the windows to enjoy the ocean breeze. Someone actually tried to open our door while we were napping and they were assigned our room…scary and bizarre. Furniture in the rooms are stained I don’t even want to sit on the chairs. And a dog was barking on our floor the whole time. And I LOVE dogs. But that’s just not cool. And we’re here for 3 nights..For 1900 dollars. Management and owners should be absolutely ashamed. The cost is criminal for what you get.
I was a little nervous about our stay at this hotel because of the negative reviews. However, we had a wonderful time there! They allowed us to check in 2 hours early, the restaurant is very good, and you cant beat the location! The only problem with the hotel was that the roof top pool is NOT nearly as large as their pictures show. They must have used fancy photography because the pool is literally half the size of what it looks like in the picture and is almost always totally crowded. Lastly, dont stay here if you want to visit shops along the boardwalk; there are zero shops. Other than that, the hotel was accommodating and there were no other issues.
This is a terrible hotel! Extremely overpriced. The rooms are small and damp. Some don’t even have central air. The water pressure is terrible, there’s no room service, the elevators are slow, and nobody answers the phone. The hotel charges a resort fee for each night, but absolutely nothing about this place feels like a resort. I will NEVER stay here again.Follow up: the Allegria responded to my negative review with generic, prepared remarks. This is the problem with the hotel in a nutshell. They have zero respect for their customers. Don’t waste your time or money!
Whoever decided to describe this place as a four-star hotel should be fired ASAP Ive been to four and five star hotels all around the globe and this place although it has a stunning bar is not more than two and a half Stars very uncommodating tiny rooms etc.The list goes on...........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
Perfect location, with a friendly staff and a great rooftop pool, but wildly overpriced for what you get. The rooms and the hotel itself are not in great shape. They feel dark, and our first room had hair and dust everywhere (they moved us to a cleaner room). The windows look like they haven’t been cleaned in years, the furniture is decrepit, the carpets in the hallways are dirty, the beds are old and springy, and the rooms lack basic touches like coffee makers. The hotel feels badly in need of renovation, basically. We still had a good stay, overall, but you should go in with the understanding that really, you’re paying for the location, and not for a luxury hotel experience.
We arrived at 3:30 and when I asked to check in early was told no rooms were available. There were 3 people behind the desk then. We left and came back at 4 to find 10 people online to check-in and only 2 people behind the desk. The process took 20 minutes just to get to the desk. Then another 15 because the guy was supposedly upgrading our room from one double partial ocean to another. I had not asked for this “upgrade” and then he said the hotel was booked and they had to juggle the rooms. Checking in was over 35 minutes. So now it’s 4:40 and we are first going to our rooms. We grab our stuff to head to the pool. It’s 4:45 and are told it closes at 5. What? So an overnight guest has 15-45 (at best) minutes on the day of check-in and zero minutes on the next day because checkout is 11 and the pool opens at 12. All this with a $50 resort fee for passes and towels and water, when it’s really the pool that is the bonus when the beach is too cold.We called the restaurant and no one answered except a voice mail. I called the front desk and no one answered the phone. This was around 6:00 pm.We went to the restaurant and when we asked if we could eat there, we were turned away because too many large parties were coming. We wanted soup and fries and would not have been there long. We did take out instead but really would have preferred to dine in. There were no tables available in the bar area, just the couches which we did not think were appropriate to eat on. We ate in our room. The room:The TV was crooked, blurry and the menu has lists of shows but hardly any choices available when you actually tried to tune the channel. The towel bar fell off in my hand. There was sand under the pillows on my friends bed.The cleaning guy started vacuuming outside our room at 10 pm. When asked why he was doing this, he said because it was not finished in the morning.Theres no coffee maker or hot water pot in the room. There wasn’t even hot water this morning near the coffee bar. The half and half is a nice touch, but what about those of us who prefer tea or hot water.I’ll even say the pillows were nice, the room temperature was good, the bathroom fine, however, a shower cap would be another nice touch. My friend and I will have many laughs about this in the future because we like to make light of every situation, but as a business owner myself, it’s really nothing funny.
Trying to check in to a sunset suite at 4:20pm after a 5 hour ride and then waiting 20 minutes in line and the room is not ready really???? Made an early dinner reservation so can get back to the room and enjoy the sunset and relax. So currently just standing to the lobby waiting and waiting was told 15 minutes its now 5 and still waiting. They come out and say it will be longer. He offers a room to shower but who really wants to unpack and repackthen unpack again rushing around after dinner just to try to relax and enjoy the sunset not to relaxing to me. At a cost of over 500 per night the room should be ready as promised.
The experience I had was very unsatisfactory. the room had sand on the floor and counters were not clean. I felt unsafe because of obvious lack of cleanliness. I was told that the pool was closed for evening because of weather. There were other people up there and when I went up there it wasnt closed and they said you have to leave because we have a private party coming in. I came to this hotel because the view from rooftop is amazing but thats about it. I called the hotel and tried to get ahold of management and they never returned my phone call. You can get get better customer service at other hotels trust me!
Positive: The first day we had a two beds which was fine, but not the view we paid for. Second day, they had to move us and put us in a one bed which was not a king size. Then, we got moved again on the third day. Now, that room was amazing and the view we wanted! Negative: They had a water problem and didnt notify us. My daughter took a shower in brown smelly water and my granddaughter which was 7mths at the time. The phone in the room was not working and I had to go downstairs in our 2nd stay there.
First of all, the staff was very polite and kind. When we inquired about things, they were attentive. However, the hotel lacked amenities. We were led to believe that a free breakfast buffet was included every day for my husband and myself. It is also advertised that there was one restaurant and one coffee shop. The coffee shop was not operating. There was no coffee maker in our room so we couldn’t even make ourselves coffee. That was very strange. The bed linens were also strange; no fitted sheet, just a flat sheet with another sheet, thin comforter and another sheet on top! Very uncomfortable. The roof top pool was very nice but had to ask if food or drink was available. It was not offered. They had canned vodka drinks and bottled water, which were fine, a small food menu, but why did we have to ask for it? All in all, we felt that the hotel was in some sort of transition so the prices should reflect that. We paid a high fee for an average hotel experience. We paid for an ocean view room and felt the cleanliness and upkeep of the hotel was severely lacking. Please improve as we would love to try again. The location was beautiful.
Location is good and the view is nice ( would be fantastic to have ability to open a window a little bit to enjoy the ocean )We stayed for 5 nights and it was ok. During this time our room was not cleaned at all . Day before our check out they changed sheets , but did not sweep the floor or check the bathroom...very disappointing...we had to ask multiple times for towels and toilet paper , and the manager did not seem to care ( very laid back attitude )
Even though the hotel roof view and pool were gorgeous there were several hiccups about this stay- I previously wrote them in two different reviews but Google deleted my first one so I’ll rewrite it now:1. They double charged us, gave us a refund, then double charged us again when we got home and were impossible to get through to. We called several times and spoke to people who said they couldn’t help us.2. The TV in the room did not work the whole time and again room service never answered although we called many times and even called the hotel main number.3. The room was not anything special and had no view. We did use hotel tonight so maybe that’s why but I was still hoping for something better in such a fancy hotel. The room used a window unit for AC which means you can’t fully close the shades if you want to sleep late.4. The elevator to the roof didn’t work so we couldn’t go back and forth from our room- I had to take a service elevator at some point by myself- was not comfortable.5. The pool is heated so it’s freezing when you get out. Some positives: the boardwalk is nice, we were able to see many dolphins from the boardwalk and roof, (glad I swam at a different beach bc you’re not allowed to swim there after Labor Day), Also they give you a $20 voucher towards food and drink at the hotel which is nice. Also the staff that we interacted with were all very nice people.
Positive: nothing Negative: We paid for Ocean View room, but did not receive it. Beware - Allegria Hotel overcharged me by $500 by falsely stating that we did not return beach passes. I have called the hotel many times with zero response. I stayed in this hotel from 8/18/2021 - 8
Before deciding to stay here I read a lot of negative reviews about this hotel, which happens to be in my hometown. I have to say, however, that overall I had a very good experience staying here. My room was beautiful, with a spectacular view of the boardwalk, beach and ocean. There is a rooftop lounge with a nice pool, chaise lounges, and outdoor couches which overlook a spectacular panoramic view of the boardwalk, beach and ocean. Upon check-in it was made clear to me that housekeeping was not done every day. At least theyre up front about it, lol. This is what many of the complaints about this hotel were about. I did take off one star from my review because of this. I stayed there by myself, so it was no big deal on my four nights day to not have housekeeping. However I can understand the inconvenience for several people occupying a room. The few times I needed help from the staff they were friendly and very responsive. There is a restaurant on site which is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is also a bar lounge overlooking the boardwalk. The restaurant has some outdoor seating. While pricey, the meal that I had at the restaurant was good, and the service very friendly. The hotel provides you with free daily beach passes, which are worth $15 a pop for non-residents.This is one of only two hotels located in Long Beach New York. It is the only beachfront hotel. Yes it is expensive, perhaps a little overpriced, but its all about the location. Its a pleasure to be able to walk out onto the boardwalk or the beach anytime of day from your hotel room. There is also a Marvel ice cream concession on the boardwalk, conveniently next to the hotel. Also, many of the great restaurants and shops that Long Beach has to offer are within easy walking distance of the hotel for most, as well as the Long Island Railroad, which will take you directly to New York City. I would recommend this hotel.
Its before 9am and Im sitting in my bed listening to a cacophony of noise coming from both outside and both adjacent rooms. I hear voices, footsteps, cough, grunts, jostling, and everything in between.Ive never stayed in a noisier hotel. You can feel voices of the guests from the other room in your bed! The guests arent being loud. They are talking normally. How can a hotel with this reputation have such poor sound insulation? God forbid someone closes a door. You might think a bomb went off.Dont sleep here. You dont sleep here. Sleep is a unicorn that might whisper by your ear ever so slightly before being trampled by footsteps and bangs. This is where sleep goes to die.Devin at the front desk is a champ though. That dude knows how to greet people.
My family and I stayed at the Allegria hotel June 1-3. Located in a quaint town and very residential, there were only two hotels located in the area. This seemed the better option. Though the price was high, we looked forward to being on the beach and enjoying the amenities.Upon arrival the hotel looked pretty upscale, with beautiful bathrooms, spacious suites, and beach chairs for guest use. The staff seemed very nice and sent us a microwave upon request. There were however a number of things that seemed odd. Such as very low lighting, low water pressure in the bathtub, and no coffee maker. Our accommodation was a Junior suite for 3, with only a king bed and no pull out couch. Instead I slept a regular couch with sheets covering the cushions. I at first believed these were intended for me to sleep on, we later found out that they were to cover the “worn out” sofa cushions. We ended up put those things to the side and tried to enjoy our stay.A day after we checked out and had gone back home, I noticed a few weird itchy bumps on my chest, then on my shoulders and back. I had never experienced a reaction like this and was very concerned that they could be bed bug bites. I had a doctor confirm that they in fact were.I am very disappointed that the hotel my family and I spent $600+ on had this issue. I truly hope that they do more thorough cleanings and take the time to upgrade their space to match the price and expectations. As beautiful as Long Beach was, I’m afraid I won’t be staying there until there are some real improvements.Show less
Positive: The only positive about this hotel were the bartenders. They were lovely, friendly and made the experience slightly better. Negative: The hotel was at capacity and they were extremely understaffed. The pool was overcrowded and there was no one monitoring the chairs so there were barely any. The room was FILTHY. The shower had a used bar of soap and there was tape holding up the light.
The hotel is beautiful and the setting was outstanding. I cannot say enough about the staff. In these trying times, covid has done a number on all of us and the hotel is another victim as they are understaffed like most of America at this point with the unemployment crisis. However, this hotels staff rose to the occasion and went well above and beyond my expectations. Particularly the front desk people, Zach, O’Brian, & Caroline couldn’t be of more help. They were awesome. The pool guys and the lounge people always up beat and friendly. The food was great and we all worked together to make it a great trip.I appreciated their effort as I run a retail flooring covering chain and deal with the public everyday. I understand their position.I’m looking forward to booking another stay at the Allegra as soon as time permits.
Positive: Close to the beach. Negative: It¿s was dirty. The was no clear parking rules and pricing. Staff was rude. It¿s was awful! We left a day early because we couldnt sleep. We knew there were wedding there but the walls are paper thin. It was 2am and are walls were still bounc
To say that my stay at this hotel was disappointing is truly an understatement. Not due to the service or room, as they were rather typical (I would say though the room itself was not worth 700 dollars though) but because of the blatant betrayal of trust that had taken place when talking to the hotel. Now for context, our family was looking for a room to book in order to celebrate the summer before school starts up again, and so we were looking for a nice room. In search of a fair price, we started off by booking from a third party website that cost around 450 dollars for a night. However, after seeing that the room was not what we desired, we decided that we wanted to cancel and rebook. In the website though, there was a sign that said that there were no refunds. Distraught by that detail, we had decided to call up the hotel itself and see whether or not we can cancel and what we should do. (I will not say who picked up just out of mannerism). So we explained the situation and told the employee that we were looking to book a bigger room but because the website said no refunds we didnt know what to do. And this employee said dont worry about it because all websites do that and that I will cancel it and book you in the more expensive room. Although we were a little hesitant, we ultimately trusted the person and so they cancelled our fist room and booked a bigger one. After the trip, we were then notified that we could not get our money back. At this moment, we felt lied and betrayed by the hotel as we were fed a lie that ultimately gave them profit. The worse part is that we have called multiple times and they did not answer. Finally, after calling them many times, we were met with another employee, who told us that they sent a message to the website and we will be given the refund accordingly. However, this is the exact same thing the other employee had said and so we are still suspicious and betrayed. Ultimately, with the mix of betrayal, lies, and false reassurance, I have no choice but to vent out our frustration and give them a one star. I urge everyone to please reconsider your stay.
It is greatly amusing to me that since checking out of this hotel a week ago I still cannot get my problem resolved. Yet, they comment and thank people on this page for the good reviews. READ before booking: After a VERY inappropriate experience with an employee, not to mention the absurd price we paid ($500 a night + $50 resort fee (for freaking what?!)+ $25 per person per day breakfast buffet that is NOT included (although stated it is and it was sitting out the entire time, so unless you love rock hard pancakes and soggy eggs). I would have had a better experience that would have been better in a hostel. This was for my anniversary and good god, I want this nightmare to be over. Good luck getting ahold of someone at anytime, no one ever answers the phone (try to call the hotel then press #2 for guest services and see how long you wait until the phone gets disconnected. (( keep in mind this is also the number you call from the room, for if you run out of Toilet Paper, if the light in your room stays on all night, if you run out of towels, if the TV doesnt work... those were a few to mention)). Maybe this will help someone get back to me.
Nice view but the room smelled like cigarettes and was very plain. Also the bathroom offered no privacy.... So be sure to go with a guest youre comfortable with!UPDATE: Booked and paid through Expedia, and then charged additional taxes and resort fee when checking out. This was not made clear when booking/ checking in and I am extremely disappointed. I will not be coming back in the future.
I’m at the Allegra hotel currently, i arrived at 12 noon for my 4 pm check in. My father is handicap uses oxygen daily and an assistive device to walk around. The hotel has no handicap parking. I understand their check in is at 4 pm. We arrived at noon, with hope they would clean the room and help us. Went to lunch, went to the boardwalk, etc to kill time. My father unfortunately was having a difficult time breathing. Finally at 230pm I asked for them to call housekeeping and expedite the room cleaning. The supervisor said he would help. Its past 330 pm, we’re still waiting for our room. This hotel is not accommodating to the handicap and nor do they care. I don’t recommend this hotel. I’d give less than terrible.
I know that this establishment is under new management. A suggestion you should have blankets for every room . I want to thank Sarabi for her professionalism and kindness. She went out of her way to look for a blanket for my Mom. She is a front desk worker and not housekeeping. The young staff is very pleasant. The location was great.
Total disappointment from start to finish.1. Only one of our 2 beds had a comforter. No luggage stand in room.2. Room wasnt serviced once during a five day stay. It was scheduled, ONCE!, we were in the room when they came, asked them to come back later, and they never came back.3. Had 3 people in the room, only get 2 beach passes, have to pay for the third??4. Pics from Google ARE NOT the fitness center in the hotel. It is in a dark, damp, smelly corner of the lobby with 4-5 machines. Treadmill was broken. Water leak on the wall left large puddle near one weight machine.5. No coffee machine in room, or complimentary coffee in lobby. For this price youd expect so much more.6. Furniture in disrepair, mars all over walls, and water stained bathroom vanity.7. Third floor elevator down button only works sporadically, informed manager first day of stay, was never fixed.8. Room air-conditioning was inefficient, had to have it on max and lowest temp just to make room bearable.9. Lobby luggage storage is unsecured and also had water leaks on ceiling and walls.10. All management responses are well look into it or Ill tell someone for you.
This hotel’s appearance is lovely. Unfortunately, nowadays with the excuse of COVID, this hotel like many others are cutting corners everywhere but still charging the same. There is no cleaning service until you check out, you must call down for extra bath towels needed and good luck getting someone on the phone. Food is less than mediocre. Other than that, great location!!
I wish I could give the Allegria 5 stars but it’s lacking. I booked a basic two double bed room and was updated with a partial beach view which was lovely. The windows do not open but since they’re windows there will be a slight draft to come in. Check in took a bit of time but it wasn’t unbearable. The furniture in the room is very worn and the bathroom could use a remodel. The toilet was stained brown and the shower didn’t have a door that closed but had a glass partition. I won’t complain about the housekeepers but I stayed for four nights and they never came. If you want to watch TV then I hope it’s not raining while you visit because the signal will cut out. Our window also leaked while it rained and left a puddle of water on the floor. They changed the complimentary buffet breakfast policy although it says breakfast is included on the website. I paid $55 dollars for breakfast for two and when I asked about it I was told they switched the complimentary breakfast for rooftop pool access. I stayed in the hotel before Memorial Day so that’s a bit confusing but I didn’t fuss about it. I tried going to the rooftop and the elevator wouldn’t allow me to get to that floor. Even from the 8th floor there was no access.Hopefully new management improves the hotel. I wouldn’t recommend it to my friends or family at this time.
Parking difficult unless you are willing to pay for valet parking. Restaurant food and service were good, but pricey with limited menus. Room was nicely furnished with a great view, but it could have been a bit cleaner. It did not have a coffee and tea maker, which I have come to expect.
5 star prices at 2 star Hotel. Furniture in room had the veneers bubbling up and coming off, couches very stained, reeking of smoke in what was supposed to be a non-smoking room (when we asked for another room they said none was available. They offered to air out the room and spray deodorant, but never did), bathroom floor was also stained. They didnt service rooms any day of the three day stay (no making of beds or cleaning the bathroom) and we had to ask for fresh towels. In addition to the $500/night rate there were extra resort fees & service charges tagged on that made the total cost $600/night. This- for a very run down, stained, smoke smelling room with no maid service. You get a much cleaner, much newer and better serviced room at a Hampton Inn for $125/night. The views are nice, but dont make up for the unjustified room rates.Breakfast service was slow, $25/per person buffet food was dry & bagels were gone because the airline crews (which the hotel has contracts to provide rooms for) took them all to go.
Room was really nice, with great views of the beach. Check in was a little less than top quality but not something that would keep me from returning to have a longer stay. Quality of food at breakfast was okay as far as buffet style breakfast go, but not what I would hope for at a hotel like this one, but as a side note we were able to get a great breakfast just down the street at a diner, so once again we will return sometime, buy truly hope that as we have more time to recover from the COVID situation and life returns to normal, this place can once again be as great as it was a few years ago.
Loved the location of this hotel. Customer service could’ve been better. The majority of the staff was teenagers, but it seems like it’s the norm in Long Beach. I was appalled at the lack of masking by staff and guests at this hotel even though the CDC does recommend masking indoors for everyone in Nassau County because of high transmission rate of COVID.
The room had a view of the beach and was very clean. Thumbs up there. I wouldve definitely gave 5 stars but had to take 1 away for the hostess Sunday morning 5.2.21. Our room came with breakfast but she insisted we pay thinking we were from the boardwalk and not realizing we were guests even after telling her our room number. We had to go back downstairs to the front desk and he sorted it all out.Thank you again to that gentlemen as he saved the day. I will definitely still recommend this hotel to family and friends but I will make them aware to watch out for the hostess 😉Im definitely going back during pool season..the rooftop was beautiful!
The staff had two hands tied behind their back with housekeeping so backed up. For 500 bucks a night in season, youd expect an on time check in and a clean room. Nope. Front desk was as frustrated as we were, theyve experienced this for several weeks. Property had a wedding over the weekend, so no access to pool area either. Sorry, cannot recommend at all and especially for 500 per night.
The hotel has the best location in Long Bech. Unfortunately the administration leaves much to be desired. The hotel is not clean. Everything is dirty for several days. They do not take the garbage out of the bins. In the rooms the windows are not cleaned in years. They can see the photos of the entrance, of the room windows. The towels that touched me were frayed and torn. You can see the pictures of this. The soap in the bathroom is unusable, no foam does, it just shows trying to buy everything cheap. The water pressure in the shower was terribly bad. It was necessary to bathe with the showerhead (the shower only came out drops of water)The floors of the first floor cafeteria are all stained with dirt. The entrance to the hotel was dirty in the two days I was there and not even someone passed a cloth to it. You can see for yourself from that photo.Pay for two days between hotel fee + room taxes and parking about 900 dollars for two daysThe price for the service is really not worthy, I think that not even a hotel on the route treats you like that.I leave photos to the hotel administration so they can see what Im talking about and hopefully they take measures so that it improves and can return.
They messed up our reservation for the night of our anniversary.Portions were miniscule. Started with a very small Cesar salad. Then we had a shrimp pasta dish which was tasty but very small. I ordered the ribeye steak with a side of mushrooms, and they forgot the mushrooms. Way overpriced. No ambience, No live music, No mens bathroom on the floor. If you like overpriced bad experiences, this is the place for you.
Several issues starting with check in! We arrived were told there was a 4pm check in guarantee. Which is fine at 430 I went up and the worker said OH! Then said our room was done. While sitting there 3-4 guests were complaining about various things. The employee was quite rude. Housekeeping was just talking standing in hall until at least 5pm. The next day tried to go to beach were told we needed passes, I asked at desk they only give 2 for each room and it was $15 per for more. Seems like a 4 person room would get 4 passes. Pool was always closed. Carpet in halls needed to be vacuumed. Room service never came the next day. Although they were in hallway until 5pm. I had to ask for towels and another guest was giving them her towels and garbage. Everytime we walked through lobby the night manager was getting yelled at by guest. No coffee in room but they will sell you a 4$ cup! It needs a thorough cleaning of corners etc. Beautiful location but need some serious organization and a new check in person other then the older man that I saw laugh and talk down to guests. We paid WAY too much for the 2 nights.
The location and view is wonderful. Other than that I am disappointed. The suite room needs a lot of fixing. The light was broken , the floors were extremely dirty, the sheets weren’t so clean, the wall was all scuffed, and the cabinet door is slightly broken. For an expensive suite I expect perfection and attention to detail.
The only thing this hotel has to offer is the beach view. Staff is nice but service is horrible 4 days in and no room service. Not ideal for a beach stay with lots of sand. Every question asked was met with an i don’t know and that was the positive side of things. Truthfully a mirror outside the bathroom room service or a small vac to pick up sand and some actual service (ie help getting a bike rental or planning a day trip in the area) and not just kind words and smiles would go a long way. Only 2 nights left and can not wait to go. A huge let down and a shame as it does not have to be this way
Worst place ever! Stayed in the King Ocean View Suite for our honeymoon weekend because it looked amazing from the website…….and at almost $500 a night with $40 in parking and an additional $45 per day resort charge you would think our King Ocean View suite would have been spectacular…..think again! The headboard had a stain on it - the couches had white sheets covering the stained couches - the floors were filthy - the room was never cleaned - the bathtub water came out rusty - the doors to the cabinets were falling off their hinges - the fire alarm went off which last for several hours of not being able to use the elevators - the chairs and towels they say they offer you to go on the beach were rusted and NEVER HAD A TOWEL. The restaurant is a joke and waited almost 1 hour just to receive a cocktail. We asked to speak to a manager and was given the run around and was told to either call or email. We did both and got ZERO RESPONSE! I still have not received the $135 back from the resort fee that was supposed to be reversed up to 5 days after you check out and well we are in August. No one ever answers the phone so PLEASE DO NOT STAY AT THIS ESTABLISHMENT!!!! This was the worst time and experience ever!
I wish 0 star reviews was an option bc this place deserves it-- the staff was clearly struggling and understaffed so its clear whoever is managing this place doesnt care about their customers nor their frontline service workers. Its puzzling to me how this hotel describes itself as 5 star and charges $299 a night for services and a stay that are inferior to a basic Econo Lodge or Holiday in Express. The room was dirty-- theyre werent even real sheets-- instead of even a fitted sheet-- it was 2 top sheets stacked. In addition they did not change the sheets or clean the room once. We were told upon checkin that they would not be cleaning the rooms For a beach hotel, that is honestly insane as their was sand everywhere. I was also told that we had beach passes for every day of our stay-- however 1 day into our stay on the beach- a lifeguard told us that the beach was closed and no swimming was aloud-- the hotel did not mention this despite us explicitly asking if we would have beach access during our stay. In addition to that the coffee shop was closed, the fitness center was closed and theyre was no room service even though that is offered online . The chairs provided for the beach were rusted and gross and stained our clothes.Any time we tried to call the front desk for basic things like toothpaste or a question about room service-- the phone rang off the hook for about 10 minutes before anyone was there to pick it up and assist us. If i was paying $75 a night-- maybe this would be acceptable, but not for the prices being charged. Its evident that someone fired a bunch of staff during covid-- and is trying to get over with making more money by providing subpar service fo the same price. I honestly felt bad for the workers bc you could clearly tell that they were understaffed and unsupported. Whoever owns this hotel-- the greed is clear-- you want to pocket every possible penny while not providing the services you advertise. Worst of all, I have been trying to get a partial refund for the 2 months-- and people continue to tell me they will follow up and never do.
This property is not recommended to anyone.I did a reservation at this property for 2 nights. Before checking in I found out that my business partner that supposed to arrive for meetings in the town got a positive COVID test and will not arrive at the meeting. So I tried to cancel one night stay before my check-in. The hotel Confirmed that they will cancel my one night and I will get refunded for an additional night. But after my check out, I still got charged for 2 nights, and nobody answering my phone from .
Nice location, great staff, enjoyed dinner and complimentary buffet breakfast. Dropped over $500 here on room and dinner for one, but very disappointed over multiple maintenance issues. A/c in room inadequate, was 77° in room .at arrival. Tried to run a/c at full blast all night but room did not cool down enough even by next morning running constantly. Bathroom vent to exhaust odors and shower humidity not working. Bathroom fans even in lobby public bathroom also not operating. Room furniture in disrepair. Outside of hotel in bad need of maintenance in multiple areas.
This hotel is a trainwreck. Barely any staff around to park your car or check you in, the rooms were in poor condition (sloppy and run down), furniture in the room had stains on it, and the staff could care less of your concerns. The location is not worth the price they charge per night. They should be ashamed of themselves for charging 4 star hotel prices for a one star motel!
Edit: I should also add that the rooms are awful as well. Idk what happened to the beautiful rooms they had two years ago, but the mattresses are horrible now, Ive slept on better in motels. The furniture is cheap and in disrepair. There have been many people reporting bed bugs. Its clear the new management is only focused on making money and not on hospitality. Judging by the comments they wont be making money for long
The second I opened my room door it smelt like mildew from the AC. There was sand all over the floor. Most lights and switches in the room were broken. The fridge smelt like death. The pillows smelt like mildew. The toilet handle and shower handle both fell off. This place is gross. The furniture is all falling apart. It looks like people rent rooms and party/trash them. We checked out early because the place was so gross. My husband called the manager to complain and we never got a call back. $600 wasted! I rent beach hotels all the time in Montauk and the Hamptons and I’ve never even seen a fisherman’s hotel this bad.
Its a nice hotel. There was some build up on the shower head, you have to be very careful with the half shower door or you get water everywhere and you have to use half your towels to clean it up. Overall I was able to sleep well there, and might would stay again if I were in the area.
The customer service was awful. While I was in the lobby I heard people complaining that they were waiting 3 hours for towels. Our family had 5 rooms. None of them were prepared for our arrival. We booked online and there wasnt a room for us. Breakfast took far too long and was overpriced. This hotel is not worth the money they charge.
Staff was great. Room not so good. Stayed in a suite. Very pricey. The pull out couch was gross, sand dirt garbage inside the mattress. Bathroom had no hot water and paint peeling from ceiling. There are 2 pull out couches and both were gross. Room comes with breakfast. The buffet was cold eggs, cold bacon, cold coffee, cold everything except for water which there was none.Waited long time to stay here and honestly i would stay somewhere else.
The location is fantastic. You’re right off the boardwalk and you have about a 2 minute walk to the beach. Additionally the Long Island Rail Road is about 5-6 minutes away.Unfortunately, it seems the hotel is very understaffed. We didn’t have any housekeeping visits and didn’t receive towels after requesting them at the front desk and waiting for the remainder of the day.During our stay the fire alarm went off and many of the guests evacuated and waited for instructions on what was happening and what everyone needed to do. The hotel staff were sparse and it was very difficult to understand what was happening. Fortunately it was related to a water issue and not a fire in the hotel. While your mileage will vary we, unfortunately, can’t recommend the Allegria and will not be back the next time we visit Long Beach.
If one reads the reviews here over the past months and years, they will see a common thread throughout - great location for a hotel, good restaurant & bar but horrendous rooms. The same complaints about the rooms continue - ridiculously low water pressure in shower, poor flushing capacity in toilets and worn/dated furniture. Despite the consistent apology from the owner/management about stays being less than ideal, NOTHING EVER CHANGES. I have stayed at the Allegria several times over the past few years and I can attest that the room conditions remain as poor as ever and over the course of time, has gotten worse. While the hotels responses may be heartfelt, if no improvement is made, the revenue from the restaurant, bar and catered events will also suffer.
Awful! One star is being too generous but it does highlight the word POOR to indicate the proper rating! Checked in at 4pm, rooms were not ready or cleaned even by 630p. No AC, dirty, stains all over the toilet, staff is young ( twenties) and clearly untrained and not able to handle the responsibilities. The hotel manager looked like he just graduated Highschool. The bartenders at the main bar were not welcoming or good.. all attitude. So disappointed! We had to cancel our dinner and stay and leave two hours after we arrived. Truly upsetting!
Unfortunately they are completely understaffed and therefore during the 4 day stay one couldn’t help notice how filthy the public spaces/elevators/ restrooms are kept. On top of that they will only clean your room once in four days using Covid as an excuse but clearly its because of poor management. Let’s be real - it’s a beach hotel- there is sand both dry and wet everywhere. The rooms were cleaned subpar to begin with. I could not reach the front desk every time I tried. They claim a four star rating-not sure how. It has amazing potential but without proper management and leadership it is failing its customer base. I will not be back.
Mostly great. Good food at their restaurant. Right on boardwalk. Ice cold AC. Refrigerator in room. Rooftop pool. Nice showers. Our room wasnt ready at 4pm. There were no towels in room, just 2 beach towels. No wash clothes, hand towels or bath towels. Housekeeping took over an hour to bring them up. Floors didnt seem like they were swept or mopped.
The hotel was nice and so was the experience. We paid $350 for the night. Spending so much, I expected more... like parking! They only offered street parking, and we had to park over a block and a half away, in below freezing weather. We had an ocean view room which was lovely, and the breakfast was amazing! We even went for a walk on the beach in the morning. Overall, the best thing was the breakfast and the worst thing was the parking.
Positive: The beachfront location. Free internet. Negative: Shower pressure is low. There isnt a coffee maker in the room. Resort fee is very high and does not include breakfast. The front desk staff is not as informed as they should be. There was a lack of communication on important issues.
We attended a wedding at the Allegria Hotel on 9/4/21 & a waiter dropped a tray of drinks he collected from the table onto my fiance’s back and spilled champagne, and other liquids onto his suit and into his 1 day old Goyard bag. The bag now smells of alcohol and is sticky. The straps are both sticky and gross, the inside pocket absorbed the champagne and other sodas, alcohol, etc and the Goayard card that was in that pocket was soaked (along with the card and cash gift for the bride and groom). We initially spoke to the event manager, Flynn, who seemed unapologetic and offered nothing beyond napkins to “help dry the bag out”. I asked her twice for her business card and to speak to the next manager up. A bit later another manager, Safwat, came over to us and was defensive and unwilling to help beyond paying for the dry cleaning of the suit. He rudely said that because the bag was not stained, there was nothing he could do for us. A stain is not the only way in which something can be affected or ruined. Anyone who has ever spilled an alcoholic drink on something knows exactly what I mean by smelly and sticky. The condition is not the same as it was when we walked in, and that is a direct result of an accident caused by a member of the wait staff. It has been over 6 weeks and we have been unable to successfully pursue an insurance claim. The GM got us in touch with the hotel’s insurance company, and they got us in touch with another insurance company who represents the the 3rd party company that the hotel outsources the wait staff from. After waiting 30 days for a response, as instructed by the hotel’s insurance company, we are on day 15 of calling, leaving voicemails and emails with the wait staff’s insurance, all with no reply. We were told we would receive a contract and instructions within 24 hours, and that was over two weeks ago. The insurance company operates from a cell phone and with a gmail account. We are on the cusp of pursuing legal remedy for the matter. It is absolutely unreasonable that our property was damaged at the hotel, by a staff member, and we have made ZERO progress since 9/4/21. Keep this all in mind when considering the Allegria Hotel for your events!
Dirty room. Smells damp and stale. Heater did not work our entire stay there. Sheets had a couple spots on them. Random stains on wall and bed headboard. We were charged essentially $370 (not including taxes and fees) a night for this.Staff was polite and cordial. Everything else was a nightmare.
Positive: The hotel is located in a prime spot. Right on the boardwalk / very close to the beach. Negative: The issue we have with this hotel is how poorly it was run. Staff could not handle loud guests (security went to their room 3 times to no avail). They moved us to another room without notice? Also no room service throughout our stay? Never again!
Positive: Excellent location, right on the boardwalk, on the beach. Beach passes, Towels and Beach Chairs were included. Looked like they were beginning to remodel, which is needed. Negative: It is over priced, but not many options in the area. No one ever answered the front desk phone. There was usually a long line at the front desk and the clerks seem to have problems with the credit card machine, it never seemed to be a smooth process.
We like the Atlantica restaurant only. The food was good and the staff were very pleasant. I would go back to the restaurant only.As for the hotel, too costly. There was partying occurring ALL NIGHT on our floor. It was just awful and security and management who were contacted sadly enough couldnt handle the group that were partying in the hall on the 5th floor and believe me it smelled like it the next morning. It was an adult group who really should have known better than to behave like they did...very trashy. The shower head is rain water and barely sprinkled out enough water to get the shampoo and conditioner out of my hair. The toilets could barely flush a piece of toilet paper down even when holding the push button the entire time to make sure it would flush. Getting the heat started in the room was yet another task. Be prepared to walk a distance with all of your luggage because parking is not easy to find but if you want to pay for valet parking, its $40/day... yet another expense.
I was overcharged almost $200 when I was supposed to receive a group discount for a wedding block, housekeeping never came to my room during my stay - not even to provide fresh towels - the valet drivers were rude, and when I asked about a bellhop bringing a luggage cart to help when I checked in, the bellhop told me there were none available and did not offer to help in any other way. Also, no one wore a mask, including the valet drivers while they were in my car.Now I have been trying to call the hotel (for an hour) after receiving my credit card statement which has resulted in being put on hold multiple times and being disconnected multiple times. Every time Ive managed to get someone on the phone (in Reservations) Ive been told I need to speak with the front desk (to deal with an issue about my reservation - whats the point of a reservations department then?) and am told to call the exact same number I have already called, and continue to be kept waiting for so long that the call is disconnected. There is no way this hotel is so great that they are too busy to answer the phones. I can only assume that the staff is lazy and doesnt feel like doing their jobs.If I could give this hotel 0 stars, I would.
Awesome staycation experience, will definitely recommend, and come again in the near future. Breakfast came with our booking, and it was definitely a great selection of food items with a beautiful view of the beach.Would have been 5 stars, but I wish I had more pamphlets, or information regarding restuarant options, menu, etc and what the resort fee included besides the breakfast. Not sure if they limited that in the rooms now due to covid restrictions, but it would have definitely made the stay more informative, especially if you want to limit speaking to hotel staff.
My fiance booked us a beach front room and we were really looking forward to hanging out on the balcony and enjoying the luxuries of an upscale hotel. I have to say how disappointed we both were with a quite a number of things! First of all, the room was was not clean! Many surfaces had an evident layer of dust/hair. The floors were filthy - my feet were covered with dirt, sand etc in no time.. THERE IS NO BALCONY. THE WINDOWS DO NOT OPEN 👎👎WEBSITE IS MISLEADING. Very noisy all the time. Constant slamming of the doors jolted me awake several times. The restaurant/bar is VERY poorly managed in all aspects! Dont get fooled by the fancy decor, thats all it is. Not even worth stopping in for a drink. While we made the best of our stay in LB, I would never stay here again, ESPECIALLY would not shell out that kind of money. NOT WORTH IT. Id take my chance at the LB Hotel next time.
My wife and I just returned from a two night stay at the hotel. The location is fantastic and we enjoyed the local food scene and rebuilt boardwalk.Positives about the hotel: Front desk staff and bell staff were very nice. We had a nice meal at the restaurant. Room had a great view of the beach.Negatives: Our room was not serviced after two requests to the front desk AND after leaving the service tag on the door. We left the room for 5 hrs to give ample time to the staff. I was forced to go into the open maid closet for trash bags to dispose of dirty diapers. We had only 10 TV channels working and there were stains on the wall from a spilled drink. We would like to return but would need to feel more confident simple requests could be met.
Were local on Long Island but were looking for a quick overnight stay-cation. We stayed here years ago and what were experiencing is far from how it used to be.Im writing this review while checked in here. To start, I spent three days prior to our booking trying to get a hold of guest services. No one answers the phones. I called the reservation line, which they outsource, and they repeatedly transferred and came back on the line to say theyre also having trouble reaching them (guest services). At the time of checking in, I still have yet to be able to get a hold of guest services on the phone. We arrive at the hotel and the room is not ready (totally fine as we were there hours before the check in time at 4pm and thats to be expected). We head to the roof top pool where there were no chairs or shade available. We decide to instead go down to the beach. Before going, I stop at the front desk to confirm that well have access to chairs and umbrellas. The gentleman at the front desk nonchantly says there are no chairs and umbrellas and asks if wed like our passes to get on to the beach. I circle back and inquire what exactly the additional $40+ resort fee is for if you dont have access to these items. He finally said hed refund the resort fee and we could rent chairs and umbrellas down on the beach. This cost us $52.00- aggravating considering we live 15 minutes away and could have thrown them in our car.We return from the beach around 4pm to see if our room is ready. The check in process took over 30 minutes because theres two people working, one of which was unable to find the person in line before us reservation, despite her email confirmation. While waiting on line, I watched the same gentleman that refunded our resort fee because of no access to the items stated in the fee, collect those funds from other patrons. We finally make it up to the room and the room is filthy. Theres mold in shower and no shampoo/body wash for my husband. We attempt to call guest services from the room line multiple times and it rings for minutes with no answer. We attempt house keeping and repeatedly get a dial tone. There were sticky brown drip marks on the wall near the desk area of the room.Hand sanitizer dispensers are empty in all areas we encountered which speaks volume for their overall cleanliness and dedication to sanitization.I have photos of the filth in the room and screen caps of my constant call attempts to guest services. This is an absolute disgrace. I LOVE my island and this estblishment is a poor representation for out of town visitors.I see the owner commenting on the reviews and would appreciate a direct contact so that I may discuss these concerns and our experience versus a copy and pasted apology. There are reviews dating months ago stating that theyre under new ownership and making improvements, but I see no change based on our experience.Majority of staff is kind, the atmosphere is nice in the restaurant for breakfast, and obviously the location is great- hence the two stars.Edited to add: were empathetic to the challenges business have face and continue to face as a result of the pandemic. But this is far beyond that.
Unfortunately I had to update this review. The Hotel falsely advertised hours which they kept changing anytime we asked what the actual hours were. The management doesnt know at all what is going on and caused all of our visit to be changed due to their last minute changes. The hotel is not well kept or clean and the elevators were constantly out of order in addition to the fire alarm going off several times. Would advise against believing their ads.
The hotel is in a nice location and we had a beach view. The price was a bit high for the quality of the room. The room had some old furniture, the chair had stains and the comforter was dirty and was not clean. The food at the restaurant was not good and the service was bad.Overall the stay was ok but wouldn’t recommend paying so much for a room that is not updated or with very clean linen/covers.
Its likely the best you are going to find actually on Long Beach, but thats the best thing I can say about it. Exceedingly expensive for shabby rooms and sand still on the floors. No coffee maker in rooms. Coffee shop closed, so dont miss the restaurant hours. AC didnt work well at all despite setting the thermostat to the lowest setting. 3rd floor down button on the elevator was broken. All that for a 2 night stay and over 1,000 dollar charge with taxes and resort fees.
Don’t go to the restaurant. My family which is my husband and two kids drove two hours to see my sister in law. When we arrived at the restaurant they said they had a table in about 15 min. We waited and then were seated. The waiter came over and took our order. He is never seen again. After an hour of waiting I left the table to look for a manager. The manager comes over and gets us cracker shrimp cocktail and a small four slice pizza which was cold. She said that the food was coming. Another 40 min goes by and no food. Another manager comes over and says there is one chef. Left with no food and crying kids.
Our stay at the Allegria Hotel in Long Beach NY was not the best. When we checked into our room, there was water stains on the wall and a wall sconce lampshade missing. Our window had a air conditioner in it but when you closed the curtains for privacy, the curtains covered the air conditioner. We had a bad view of a roof and other rooms that could look right in so we had to close the curtains. My husband went to the front desk and told them the room was not acceptable to our standards, so they changed our room and the new room was renovated and so much better. All new. However the vent in the bathroom didn’t work so the bathroom fogged up and that was the only mirror in the room. No full length mirror or any other mirror so if your spouse is getting ready in the bathroom you have to wait because the room had to mirror. That was a pain in the neck and you had to wait a good 15 min for the mirror to un fog. There was not even a complimentary coffee or tea in the morning and nothing in your room either except a fridge. We had to go out of the hotel to grab a coffee and then go back to the room to get ready for the day. The windows did not open, in the room, the ventilation was bad. We woke up dry with a cough every night. The made did not show up two days in a row so in four days straying we had a maid change our sheets once. We had to track downs new towels everyday. It was very strange. We got stuck during a power outage and when we got out we told two staff and they looked at us like we were crazy. We just wanted them to check the elevator. When we were in it we didn’t know there was a power outage. No one told us until I went to the front desk to tell them that they might want to check the elevator because we got stuck in it, I was scared because it got pitch dark and we kept ringing the bell and pressing the phone and no one answered. However they did waive the resort fee which was nice.
2 stars because the location was perfect.Otherwise was far overpriced. Sheets were DIRTY and filled with sand.Drunk people shouting and fighting in the hall in the middle of the night.Pool closed due to a special event (one of the reasons our family picked this hotel was because of the pool).Food is mediocre.I would not recommend this hotel.
The hotel itself is pretty and the front desk staff was nice. That is where the positivity on my review ends. Only one elevator worked and only 2 people could be in it at a time so anytime I came downstairs I had to walk back up to the 5th floor. Upon arrival the toilet seemed to have (what I truly hope was not) vomit in it and it took a few calls/hours before someone came to address it. The water was freezing in the shower and the sink. I, nor the person I came with would ever visit this hotel again.
This hotel is dirty and old. Balcony doors do not open no way to hear or smell ocean from room. No free coffee in room or lobby. The rooms are really worn strange stains on wall worn thread bare towels. If you drive 40 dollars to park. For the price its so not worth it. I wouldnt stay there again
Place is absolutely beautiful. Spectacular bar area with great appetizers. But one bartendar Chris he needs tp learn customer service skills. He not once approached me or my friend when we first sat down at the bar. There was a young lady here that was amazing. She made this a pleasant place to be on a Saturday afternoon.
There is a great restaurant at this hotel, the food is nice, and they dont look at you funny when you use a Groupon. The room I was in, (one bed) was a little small but not so small you couldnt maneuver, and the bathroom was a nice comfortable size. The room and bathroom were clean and modern, however, I must emphasize clean. This was a place you would feel comfortable sleeping in.The bonus, its convenience to the beach. Go downstairs, walk outside and theres the boardwalk - right by it, the beach! Of course, the water is cold right now but walking through the sand and enjoying that lovely sun is a great tradeoff. If youre going to stay anywhere in Long Beach, the Allegria is the ideal place to be.
Why I love this place:Going to Long Beach is in itself an amazing thing. Its ageless, with young and old all feeling active on the boardwalk. I often run the 4.4 miles , starting from the hotel itself.Sitting in the breakfast restaunt , looking at the beach and the sun is so peaceful and beautiful. The feeling there is part south beach, part California. The bar is inviting with a great vibe.Looking forward to the return of live music!
Do not stay at this hotel. For one, it was gross, the rooms were not sanitized.Secondly. I booked my stay through Priceline, had paid it in full and was charged $180 for hotel fees.I arrive at the hotel told i have to pay a $250 deposit for the room. OK.A week after my stay i check my credit card and I’ve been charged $601.25. I call and have to argue to get my money back. I was told I’m only being refunded $400 and the difference is “hotel fees” so I have now paid $400 in hotel fees because I paid it through Priceline and then through them. The person on the phone was very argumentative and i decided to not even fight for met ~$200. If you stay here be ready to be charged without permission and for things you never paid for. Horrible
So this was our second stay here. I wish we didn’t have to stay here again, but it’s the only decent hotel in the Long Beach area. This only gets 3 stars though. For what they charge this hotel is a sham.1. Very very dirty.. the rooms are NEVER serviced with room cleaning unless you nag and beg several times and even then they never come. But the room itself was falling apart and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a while. No new towels, no clean linens, no nothing! You would expect with the price you pay for there to be service included. Especially during a pandemic.2. The hotel itself is poorly maintenanced and all around not clean. You can see marks all over the walls, carpets not vacuumed, fingerprints all over glass that have never been cleaned and there was flooding in the doorway entrance that hadn’t been cleaned for literally 24 hours.3. The walls are SO thin and the rooms are adjoining.. so it feels like you’re sharing a room with zero privacy because of the noise. We heard our next door neighbors entire conversation and crying baby the whole time4. It’s advertised that there is a “cafe” in the hotel which has been closed the entire time. From what staff said, it “must be an old advertisement” - yet it was smack dab in the elevatorOnly good thing is the location being right on the boardwalk but otherwise please know it is NOT worth the price. I see in responses here they say “this is not the normal experience of customers we strive for” - but I see the same review form people over and over and I experienced it myself 2 summers in a row. FIX THE ISSUES and hire people to provide good service or hire more staff to get new services for customers . For $300/ night this is a complete rip off!
This hotel has so many things wrong with it. Rooms are dilapidated, veneer of furniture ripped off. Walk in and saw cardboard sticking out from air duct. Service was horrible. Stay away!! Needs gut renovations and new management, this hotel is run so poorly. Sorry for the poor review but it was really well deserved!
Had to wait to check in as rooms were not ready. The price was very high $360 for double beds booked through trivago. Bed linens were not clean and floor had sand on it. I checked out 9 am next day and find they tried charging my card $316. As with our stay reaching the front desk is impossible. My room was paid why are they charging again. I will not stay there again for many teasons.
Hated this place! Was booked for a two night stay but was ready to leave after one night. I had absolutely no interest in sleeping there the second night. The hvac system in my suite was abysmal. The thermostat didn’t seem to work at all. The temperature in the room was stifling. To make matters even worse, after an entire night of twisting and turning, I was woken up at six am by the alarm clock in the room. Who ever thinks to check the alarm to make sure it’s not set by a previous occupant? I would imagine it should be something the housekeeping is supposed to do.Would definitely not recommend staying here.I got out of there as soon as I could.
Front desk service was not adequate, the room very nice but toilet bowl never flushed. The engineer came to repair it but was not able to do so I showered and checked out. Checked into the Long Beach Hotel instead and they were very accommodating. And staff very nice. Room clean and prices very reasonable and a block from the beach. Much better value.
The staff was very nice and accommodating. The public areas are stylish and pretty well maintained. However, the rooms could use some love. The bedside tables were worn and the desk had a huge chunk of veneer knocked off. The room and bathroom were spotless, though the grout was a bit dingy. The top of the fridge was badly scratched. I dont think I have stayed in a four star hotel that had plastic cups, but at least there were cups. After saying all that, the hotel is in a great location, right on the boardwalk. There are a number of restaurants within walking distance. A pharmacy and grocery store are a 10 minute walk.My only major disappointment was that 24 hours after I checked out I was alerted to a charge at the bar. I only bought a coffee at the bar and paid cash for that. I now have to call my credit card company and dispute the charge.
For the price, this is a great beach hotel. Remember, this place is directly on the water, and it is VERY hard to upkeep a building that is constantly under attack from salt. Staff is top-notch. Great water views, even the partial water views. Cons: The worst, UNSECURED WiFi I have ever encountered. If you plan on working from here, bring your own!!! Secondly, the for the $35/nt resort charge, you get WiFi (which I already pointed out is complete garbage!), bottle water (which is the cheapest, generic brand money can buy) and breakfast (which is edible at beast). So, a HUGE rip-off on the resort fee!!!!!! You will never get a tip from me when you charge a resort fee for garbage. The morning breakfast crew really needs to learn service. In the week I was there, I had to ask and wait for coffee every single morning! BIG PET PEEVE!!
First, we got 2 wrong rooms then promised, so, it was very disappointing, I need to get a new key, the guy totally ignored me, after speaking to a supervisor, he was friendly, my daughter called for towels and to get her garbage empty, nothing, called in the morning still nothing, went downstairs still had to wait 20 minutes. The breakfast, was very disappointing, The coffee was horrible, we could not drink it. The hotel for the 500 plus a night should be more attentive to guests, and have a friendly approach. My Son in Law, tried to make it Easy access for us to.be close to family, due to the Death of my sister. I lived in long beach for years and that was the first time, I even entered the hotel. We were all very disappointed, and sorry we did not look for a different place to stay, sometimes convenience, is not worth it. A total ripe off, unfriendly, lacking hospitality, We all agreed, look somewhere else.
The front desk staff at the Allegria were amazing. Friendly, accommodating and extremely helpful. They had great restaurant recommendations and suggestions for how to get around town and places to see. Id give them 5 stars, no question. The rest of the hotel was really unpleasant.-Ice maker was full of dirty ice and had not been cleaned recently and was only popping out ice with dark brown and bits of black inside-Being in the room next door to the housekeeping storage area meant we had round the clock door slamming, shelves being dragged around and rearranged, carts coming and going, trash cans being emptied and banged around-Took an hour and a half the first night to get extra bedding and we were given four top sheets. No pillows, no comforters, no fitted sheets-Mold in the bathroom-Dirty grout in the shower and over the bathtub-Damage and blemishes to the bathtub-Water damage in bathroom walls-Dirt and mud on the back of the bathroom door-Single ply toilet paper-Air conditioning unit leaked profusely whether it was turned on or off-Water damage on the desk under the air conditioner-Warped wood from water damage on the floor by the bathroom-Two of the three chairs in the sitting area were broken-Very thin doors and walls, could hear everything from the hallway, upstairs, downstairs and next door-No dressers, chest of drawers or cabinets to store clothing in. Our open closet had no hangers. And since the desk was constantly full of standing water and the chairs in the room were broken, we had no where to put any of our things at all-Over a dozen light switches in the room and only two of them worked-One of the two elevators was broken on and off throughout our visit-Not enough towels in the room. Took two days of asking to receive more-The restaurant / bar area and staff were really confusing. There were arrows all over the floors pointing in directions that were contrary to what the employees were directing people to follow and different than the signs that were posted. Trying to dine in, order a cocktail to go, order food to go...all had different rules / procedures every time we went in
I wish I can give a rating lower than 1 star. This hotel was by far the worse experience I have ever had in a hotel. Ridiculously overpriced and a total waste of time. Please please do not make the same mistakes I made. Besides the location of the hotel, which is right on the boardwalk by the beach, their is absolutely nothing else good about this hotel. Low ceilings, dated rooms, lights not working in bathrooms, fixtures broken, horrible customer service, old bed sheets, and just a general underwhelming feeling when entering the hotel. By the way, the rooms labeled partial ocean view are not at all partial, they should be labeled minuscule or barely any ocean view because you will mainly be looking out your windows at a hideous building getting construction work done on it. Resort fee is so bogus as well. We were told that the rooms had balconies and none of them did. We were told that we needed beach passes to go to the beach and that is why they charge a resort fee, we went on the beach three times and not once were we asked for a beach pass. This place is a joke of a 4-star hotel and being a Hilton Diamond Member I have stayed at several 2-star Hilton Hampton Inns that were better than the Allegria.
The afternoon and night bar dining is no so bad.. Its the stay in hotel experience that was so disappointing! Elevator was down with no accommodation, cant even open a window a bit in the hotel room!, breakfast is horrible and well overpriced... Best part is the beach, if its not raining.. Good luck!!
Enjoyed access to the beach but hotel experience was not too great. We had dinner and waited 45 minutes with no apps. No manager available. When food did come out, it was not great. Ordered truffle fries and got regular fries. Pizza tastes like it came from a frozen box. No rooftop or pool access but people were able to go for a private partyNoises coming from toilet at all hours of the night, not sure what that was about. Overall, very disappointed but we were happy to spend time at the beach
I was most definitely impressed with this place. It has that super wow factor to it. They have brunch at $45 a head. The views of the beach is fabulous. If you are getting married and can afford it use their rooftop room. Your bride to be will feel that she is dreaming. Heck I felt like I was dreaming. The staff goes with the place and they enhance the experience to a higher level.
Sevice is welcoming. This hotel has become a home away from home. My children love the pool on the rooftop and when its the fall, winter, or they love getting up and having breakfast with a beautiful view of the beach as well as cozy up with the fireplace. An amazing place for a mother of many to get away from day to day and for family time away from home.
We stayed at this hotel for a long three day weekend. While the location of the hotel was beautiful, the service at the hotel was lacking. During our stay the elevator had broken and there was no indication posted anywhere. We had found out because we had just entered the hotel but the other guests were all waiting at the elevator for 20 minutes before we told them.During this time, the service elevator was the only thing that could be used. The service elevator was located through the kitchen and all the guests had to walk through in order to use it. We felt very unsafe because the area was very cramped. It was almost impossible to social distance. When we arrived on the floor of our room, the service elevator was located right next to our room. Throughout the night the door to the service elevator was slamming. We had called the front desk reception and spoke to Andrew because we couldn’t sleep all night. Our nine-month-old also wasn’t able to sleep because of the constant slamming of the door. Andrew reassured me that Security would come upstairs and prop open the door But this never happened and the door just kept on slamming throughout the night. When we first were told about the elevator they reassured us that it would be fixed within the hour. Had we known that it would be broken until the next day we would’ve asked to move our room. On the second day when I went downstairs to ask the receptionist a question and they asked me how my night was, and I responded that “it wasn’t great”. There was no follow up response and they seems to lack any empathy to our situation.
This hotel has a great location and hard to beat its convenience if you are planning a short trip away from the city. The big problem is that its priced like a luxury hotel which it is NOT. Its basically a motel 6 on the beach. Unfortunately for the consumer there are not many other options at Long Beach which explains the inflated cost.
Pros.. Beautiful location and great views.Cons. Pool top was closed for the night when we were there. Shower did not work properly/lack of water supply. Rooms were extremely loud we heard everything outside our rooms including the party in the next room until 4am. We were charged twice for our room. We were told someone else had a credit card attached to our room. They could not explain it to us. The water that came out of the sink was brown when warm water was used. For the price of this hotel we could of rented a house down the street with better amenities. Overall a 3 at best.
The only good thing about this hotel is the location. There were numerous staff that were very nice and tried to make the stay a pleasant experience (for example - the restaurant manager giving us free coffee in the morning knowing that there are no coffee makers in the rooms) but the current ownership has no idea how to run a hotel.
Positive: Location, food, Negative: Overall should be cleaned often and bathroom amenities should be enough for customer stays. Muggy dampness in the air and restrooms near restaurant and bar should be cleaned regularly. Service in the Atlantic Restaurant on the mezzanine is very poor.
Eh, maybe this was a 4 star hotel when it was first built but definitely not now. I booked an expensive corner suite but the room was well past its prime and basically falling apart. Furnishings were cheap and worn out. The bed was comfortable but the sheets felt old instead of crisp. The first bathroom shower wand wasnt turning on. Only the rainfall shower head worked but the pressure was weak and the water never got warm enough. In the second bathroom, there was a tub and a shower. The wand to the tub didnt work because it was missing a handle. The shower was fine but again it had weak pressure. All the light switches were broken and didnt click. Some lights didnt turn on.Luckily staff was good. They brought up waters and new towels quickly when we asked. Everyone except 1 person was wearing masks. Most people were polite with the elevators and asked if it was ok to go on. Street parking is free but can be tough to find a spot. The ocean view is great and takes less than a minute to walk to the beach. I highly recommend eating at Riptides which is also a minute walk.
The best parts of this hotel are its proximity to the beach and it’s attempt to be a nice place. There are a number of shortcomings, the service is often below average and then followed up with a number of apologies that are well intentioned but clearly insincere. The rooms, the lobby, the pool and bar area are well-designed but poorly executed in construction. This can be noticed when you look at fallen tiles, poorly installed shower fixtures and a number of other things that are falling apart.I really wanted to like this place, but’s it’s just trying to be something that it’s not.Examples: The tile wall by the pool has missing tiles. The curb around the pool has a large loose piece of concrete that could fall on anyone. The bathroom lobby has stains on the toilet stall door that appears to be blood. There were major stains in my bathroom sink and bathroom tub. When I called the front desk to ask for some additional body wash and towels they showed up with less body wash then I asked and toothbrushes… Not paying attention.
Disappointing, asked specifically for ocean view , booked a king suite the best room they had. check in & we are facing the parking . They were not able to move us.. the kitchenette was falling apart. not one item in the kitchen not even a coffee maker. confused? overall wear & tear is evident. Pool deck was closed due to weather conditions The breakfast was good & thankfully we were able to get coffee The disinfectant they are using is so heavily perfumed it was overwhelming & gave Great location if weather is nice me a headache
Darnell was so friendly help us with our bags even gave us a book recommendation ❤Tristan and Chris at the Bar fun Very personable great conversation and made a good drink.💃💃🍹Dinner /lunch food was good ...Breakfast was NO GOOD The service sucked it took us almost an hour to eat just breakfast....WILDThe downside at the check in and the check outline at that front desk was longI GAVE IT THE 4 STAR IT COULD OF BEEN A 5 BUT THE BREAKFAST KILLED IT SORRY
Great weekend for a quick getaway to the beach with my friends. Jonathan Fabietti, the Front Desk Supervisor provided awesome service during the stay this past weekend! The man’s so down to earth & professional. The BBQ joint he recommended our last night was dope! Wish I could remember what the name of it was...Thanks again my guy! You’re gonna go far!
The look of the room, beach access, location to food and drinks. The floor was not swept before our arrival, but the next day. The toilet seat was not mounted to the toilet, I had to go to the desk, not amount of towels to match booked guest. Food extremely high priced. Front desk person was not welcoming at check-in. Was assigned to a wrong room type, had to go back down stairs to reming check-in desk. For the price I expected everything to be on point. Otherwise it was fine.
Great location, very friendly staff, love the dining, bar and hang out area. Where I was a little disappointed was the room. A lot of semi broken pieces. The window was duct taped too. The view was great, but not sure it was worth the extra price considering the room wasnt worth the price in my opinion. Loved that there was a cafe. Im also super sensitive to smells, and the cleaning products were not strong like some places. Overall, worth staying, not worth paying extra for a room with a view. If they updated and replaced broken/worn fixtures, Id give it 5 stars.
Went there for the brunch they offer. The food was excellent! All you can eat! Price is very fair. I had clams, oysters and large shrimp. Also steak (really tender and juicy) prime rib (really good) and a lot more. Different drinks, desserts, etc. You will love it!! Also very nice place on the water.. Doesnt get any better!! Enjoy.
The staff were great! Location and rooftop view are amazing! Unfortunately, the room did not live up to the hotels potential. The window was in need of repair and was also not clean. The bathroom, although beautifully designed, had a loose sink, a shower with almost zero water pressure and an unkempt floor.
Shower faucet broke and the whole stay we had cold water, no maintenance came to fix it and front desk nor manager didn’t do the bare minimum and fix the problem... not only that they promised us 50% off our stay and didn’t end up keeping their word and charged us full price. When I called to explain, Andrew the manager, was so disrespectful and unprofessional. Kept mocking us and when I told him about the discount he denied it, made us seem as if we’re lying and spoke to us so harshly and hung up. Worst service ever
Unfortunately this time was not up to par. No hot water for showering. Remote not workings light bulb missing from lamp. Room was small and dark. Checking in was long. On Sunday the elevators in lobby somebody spilled some drinks and 30 minutes later it was still there
Amazing decor and scenery plus the staff is warm, friendly and very professional. The room was clean, bed was super comfortable and the shower was amazing. Didnt make it to breakfast but well definitely be back. The kids had a mini photo shoot on the boardwalk. The pictures are from the view from my room. Great thing to see in the morning, very calming and peaceful
Not the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in. Shower had mold in the grout, the elevators are dirty, the floors were sticky and the lobby ceiling was leaking. Staff is nice & helpful. The restaurant/bar area is very nice, thats about it. Very pricey and you do not get much for your money. The rooms are cold, nothing really in them, not even sure if I had a fridge. Would definitely not stay there again.

2022-01-06I have a sinus infection and an immune disorder. I should not fly right. I was planning to with precautions but the sinus infection tipped me over and prompted me to reach out and ask for a voucher to use my 1 night reservation over a week from now at a different time. I have stayed at this hotel a half dozen times. Its nice but nothing great. Its location is good. Well corporate reached out to the property to request a courtesy exception. They denied it. 300 bucks for 1 night in January on the beach in NY. I guess that price is worth it to them to lose my business and those of all my family forever. I had planned to go next month when my infection was cleared. Not staying there ever again.UPDATE: I sent the information this response requested directly to the front desk. The front desk manager is looking into why I was no immediately refunded when I reached out to the (outsourced?) company that deals with this. Apparently I was well within my refund period. The hotel is attending to this error and I am extremely satisfied with their response. Changed it to 5 stars.

2022-05-25Beautiful scenery and good food. However, our air conditioner did not work properly and our room was humid. The maintenance person said he fixed it but it still did not cool as it should have. Also, even though there were multiple little signs saying that our room had been sanitized, there was obvious black mold on the glass shower door and tile.

2022-05-31Great family getaway from Westchester, NY for Memorial Day weekend. Rooms are decent (why are you in a room at the beach anyway???) and hotel is right on beach/boardwalk. Hotel allows dogs for a small fee and rooftop pool is nice for kiddos. Staff was friendly and attentive, especially host and waitress at the restaurant. We dined outside on Sunday night and she was so nice to our son with autism (forgot her name)…

2022-04-16Ownership responds to all reviews and concerns with we are under New ownership, new management and upgrades/updates this past winter are being done to be more modern. But what has actually changed? What got done? Were rooms upgraded? Better cleaning service? Talk is cheap. All guests still complaining about cleanliness and front desk issues which should be a top priority. Were these fixed with new processes? No announcements or changes are made here, social media or the website.

2022-03-28We hosted our companys 10yr anniversary and everything went as planned. Our waitress, Maryann, was so nice and accommodating. The restaurant staff helped set up the balloons and decoration table while we greeted our guests. Very nice view and restaurant atmosphere. Great service and food!

2022-06-20I am extremely disappointed ☹️ In the quality and service of what once was a very nice and elegant hotel. My husband and I have stayed here several times but in 2022 everything has changed! No complementary breakfast 🍳 anymore, the Atlantica restaurant on the premises is extremely overpriced, and you have to pay for hotel parking. This is not a cheap hotel by all means but it acts like one . My husband and I have stayed at more affordable hotels and you get complementary breakfast and better service. Businesses want to rip people off and expect loyal customers but this is a huge mistake on their end. It’s unfair how these business think they are doing us a favor when we are the ones that are keeping them in business. They need to treat their clientele better. Overpriced rooms and no longer amenities. Everyone wants to blame covid but come on , it’s an excuse. Sadly we will not be coming back!

2022-01-20Our room was decent. Clean and comfy cot but we had an issue w security. Or the lack there of. People can walk in and out of the hotel w Noone checking reservation status..because the restaurant is open to the public. But someone should be greeting everyone at all Times and that is not the case.

2022-06-25I attended a wedding here and overall had a decent experience but the reason for the low rating was because of the rudeness of staff. I believe the manager who clearly didnt care about us was named Kirk (Def started with a K). Trying to talk to him was difficult, he wouldnt listen and didnt care to help with anything. He has no business being in hospitality. Other issues like the windy rooftop during the ceremony or construction next door were out of their control, and understandable but not the incompetence of the staff. The rooms were nice, the suite had a large bathroom, a small bedroom and small living room but over a dozen people were able to hangout in the grooms room right before the ceremony. There was one employee in the front, I believe named Denice, who was extra nice, professional, responsive, respectful and a pleasure to be around, but she was working the front desk and not the party. The hotel is right on the beach so ask for the beach view which is lovely. I hope management reviews their staff and finds people to replace the bad apples so I can improve my rating the next time I visit.

2022-02-25Positive: The view was immaculate & room was Moderate. Check-in w/ hotel employee was exceptional. Negative: However, the room was not cleaned on my 2nd day. Also, I tried every single option on the room phone to reach out to staff & had little success-no one picked up based on several attempts. My kids had to go downstairs to ask for additional towelsand sh

2022-05-19Not much to talk about this hotel. It looks like it under renovations. Only saving grace were the front desk/hotel staff, which was helpful with several requests. Our room was drafty with no way to raise the temperature. Walls were unbearably thin. I could literally hear word for word what a group of people were talking about in the adjacent room. I had to turn on the TV to an audible volume just to drown the noise out. Will not recommend.
