Based on what I had heard from others, I had high hopes for ABV but was rather disappointed. Everything was killed with seasoning and finish - over salted tater tots, over cooked burgers, and an overly peppered salad. The prices are very steep, especially considering the quality of food that we received. I appreciate the gluten free options and then having a dedicated fryer for fries/tater tots, and our server was knowledgeable about what was truly GF (heads up, the carmelized onions are cooked in beer so they are not GF!). The menu was intriguing and I would consider coming back if the prices and quality of the food were better.
This place was...ok... My food was fine and my drinks were fine. My only complaint was that after our food we waited about an hour before we saw a waiter/waitress again to get more drinks or the bill.My party didnt have a good time. A member of my party got a burger that was overcooked and dry. He said it tasted like it was freshly frozen. Another party member is a vegan who ordered a bean burger and wanted to replace the fries with tots. He wasnt told about the change in cost, which ended up being $3 or 5 tots. They ended up paying more than everyone while simultaneously getting far less food.My party pressured me to mark this place as a 3. They said that they loved eating here before the pandemic. They hope that a harsh review will help revive the original quality they enjoyed.
I have celiac (extreme gluten allergy), and ate here safely. I explained to the waitress about my allergy, and she was very helpful in determining what I could order. The fries/tots are fried in a separate fryer from the onion rings, so they are safe to eat. The caramelized onions are dipped in beer, so be sure to avoid them when ordering a burger. Also, be sure to tell the waitress that you need your gluten free bun toasted on a separate surface from the regular buns otherwise they’ll cross contaminate. Amazing #4 burger and fries, highly recommend!
Took my parents & daughter here before going to Sheas. We were greeted at the door & seated quickly. It was pretty busy yet service was timely & food was excellent! Great beer selection! Fun atmosphere! The only semi negative opinion is the music was a bit loud. We will be back to try more of the many burger options!!
Lets begin with the fact they had a really good burger, but the service was terrible. We were there for 30 minutes and nobody even asked if we wanted drinks. We did have a bottle of water and glasses brought to us when we first got there. The 2 tables the got seated after us got waited on and had food before we decided to ask on of the waitresses of we could order. It took almost another 45 minutes for food. The burgers were good, service not so much
This place great! From the hostess, the servers and the food, what a great experience! We were greeted by a very polite young lady that made some great suggestions for other local establishments for drinks and deserts. We were seated at a nice corner table and Andy, our waiter got us drinks going right away. He suggested the Parmesan wings which were unbelievably great! Whoever thought to put jalapeños on the wings was a genius!! My wife and I both ordered the American burger and fry. They were extremely good! The meat mixture, seasoning and sauce were all awesome! The service was great, many choices of drinks and a great atmosphere all for a very reasonable price! They had Utica Club on draft which was kinda nostalgic!! Highly recommend this place!
Servers were friendly and knowledgeable, and I appreciated that they had NA beer served with a glass so I could feel as fancy as other patrons. The drink menu here is robust and is worth the trip by itself. However, getting the black bean burger was disappointing, it was mushy and fell apart as I ate it. Generous portion though, filling.
First time stopping in. Were not from Buffalo but a Google search and check of their burger menu enticed us. Such a popular place, we sat at the bar at the only 2 seats available. The bartender/waitress was very friendly and engaging. The smash burgers were deee-licious. Stop in sometime - and if its summer time, enjoy their outdoor patio.
This place is great. Yes it’s a bit pricey for a burger place but the burgers are very much worth it. The only thing that made me question giving it 4 or 5 stars is it’s not always super speedy, maybe don’t go if you’re in a rush, but do go if you want good food, drinks, and service!
This has to be one of the most fantastic restaurants in Buffalo, hands down. Ive been here twice now and have had incredible meals both times! They have a really interesting, unique and well-constructed burger selection, and a wide selection of drinks to go along with them. I was recommended a really good beer by the server for our table after they were out of the one I originally wanted, and now I have another new favorite local beer to enjoy thanks to their friendly and kind staff! On a side note, the wings we had as an appetizer were super good too! We tried their take on garlic parm and Buffalo (hot) style and the wings were made perfectly. This is a place Ill always try to take my friends to when were looking for a place to eat in the city. Keep up the incredible work, ABV 😊
My very first time in there, I have found my fav... the chef is amazing, the bartender, greeter, waitress were awesome, friendly, smiley, all about customer service.I had the salad, cherry tomatoes, feta cheese and balsamic vinegarette... my guest had the Korean barbecue chicken wings.. I loved the salad and brought some home.iqjI am a person who enjoys drinking ginger ale mixed with cranberry...but if you want to enjoy a drink for your taste buds or to mirror a moment of the day, check out their varieties of brew, wine and mixed cocktails listed that can get your taste buds dancing and have you relaxed in a vibe of positive conversations while watching a great game of Buffalos Finest... Youll be at home ( metaphorically of course 😂)
Great, local pub! Recommended by our hotel. The place was well decorated and known for their burgers. The parents got specialized burgers (#2 and #8) while the kids got stacked burgers. I stole some bites from the kids and I liked the stacked burgers! They have 1-4 patties. The fries were also awesome! Wonderful service as well. Highly recommend this place.
Wow. Andy J. I asked for a burger that was cooked medium and this is what I got. When I called back to politely ask what went wrong, Andy a employee at the store had some very strong words for me. In 2022 threatening someone’s life over a burger was something I would have never imagined…. Upset with what was supposed to be the best day of my life now has started off with the disgraceful lunch with friends. Something has to change…
I was told this place had the same owner as the Thin man, and I could see it in the decor. I had been meaning to try this place, iand I was not disappointed. The service was friendly and fast, and it has a nice relaxed atmosphere. I had the calamari, which was excellent with the spicy and sweet sauce served with it. My friend had the burger with peanut butter on it which never even occurred to me to do ever. He said it was amazing. The crowd starts to pick up at night, but is reasonable between 5 and 7:30. I cant wait to go back!
I don’t know if anyone remembers the Gusto article about the best burgers in Buffalo but that article was what led me to try this place out and I have to say, I don’t even remember where that article ranked ABV but they are easily in my #1 when it comes to burgers. I love the variety and the complimentary ingredients and their fries are just to die for. I’m salivating thinking about it. I think this spot is a must for anyone who loves a good burger.
The burger with pork chili verde was outstanding. Pure comfort food. It had a bit of a kick to it, which I loved. I upgraded to parmesan truffle fries and it was totally worth it! The dipping sauce that comes with the parmesan fries is perfection. The service here is good. The drink list is extensive. And the food is on point!
Nondescript exterior is misleading for the epic dining experience that awaits within. All of their fresh dry-aged grass-fed angus beef burgers are hormone and antibiotic-free, sourced from verified humane and sustainable ranches to ensure the highest quality and flavor. All burgers come with handcut fries. My Mom had One, (Forest mushroom & cambozola cheese, brandy peppercorn sauce), $16.50 She couldnt get over both that taste of the burger and the uniqueness of the cheese. I had the Parma Prosciutto (Parma Prosciutto Wrapped Burger w/Urbani White Truffled Cream Cheese & Arugula), $18. We upgraded the sides ($2 each) to the A. B. V. Tater Tots (Applewood bacon & scallion sour cream, cider apple sauce) and Truffle Fries (Parmesan & garlic aioli). Our server Andrew T was especially helpful.
Without question, the place for burgers within 2,000 miles. Ive tried 5 different burgers now and 2 specialty burgers and theyre all amazing in their own way. You can not go wrong with youre choice! Plus friendly staff and well stocked bar, with TVs to watch some sports. Honestly what more do you need?
This visit was in mid October during Covid limitations. The eating area was clean and all staff were wearing face masks. Everyone was friendly and my server was attentive. I ordered the #8 burger with tender bacon with crisp edges and American cheese. Cant forget the sunny side up egg that was running down the medium rare burger, adding another flavor to the mix. I definitely advise to cut the burger in half to eat it. Get extra napkins too because it can get messy but no complaints. The fries were hot and crispy, which I enjoyed with some malt vinegar. The tables are spaced apart to comply with social distancing. No anxiety eating here. Only issue is the door is hard to open, so give it a strong pull when entering. I blame the door and not my lack of strength.
My only complaint is that I wish ABV had more than one location in Buffalo! There’s honestly not many spots with as many burger options as ABV has. And they’re all great! Step out of your comfort zone next time you’re at ABV and try the peanut butter burger or something else crazy!
Enjoyed a nice relaxing lunch here with my husband recently. We had the tater tots to start and enjoyed it very much. The tots are homemade and done well. It was also the perfect sized app for us to share and still have room for our burgers. The two dipping sauces that accompanied the tots were great too. My husband liked the sweeter apple cider sauce while I enjoyed the more savory sour cream and chive sauce. We each had a beef burger. He enjoyed the “eight” while I enjoyed the “four.” My burger was absolutely wonderful. The brioche bun was perfectly toasted and not soggy at all. The patty itself had a great crust with good seasoning and great flavor. It was also perfectly cooked and juicy. The toppings were great too and perfectly balanced with the amount of burger you get.Being that I couldn’t enjoy an adult beverage at the time, I cannot attest to how well the drinks are made; but they have a great selection of liquors, cocktails and beers! I can’t wait to return when I can enjoy an adult beverage and a burger at the same time!
The burgers werent anything special at all, and a little overpriced. I barely ate mine because I didnt like the flavor (or lack thereof). I had better expectations from all the great reviews. The server didnt ask how we wanted them cooked and we didnt realize until they just brought out well done burgers. The only good part was the truffle fries
Delicious burgers! So many creative topping combinations to try — not just for beef, but also unique options for salmon, turkey, and veggie burgers. It seemed very busy during dinner time, so definitely plan to wait for a table or order ahead when ordering at peak hours!
This is the best burger in town - mostly because they specialize in burgers, and they grind their own meat. The toppings and combos they come up with are amazing. I love the one smothered in gruyere, onions, a balsamic reduction and bacon. I love this place so much I went last night for my birthday. It was just my husband and I, and I was in a burger mood - and when am, this is my special treat burger place. Their fries are out of this world and the ambiance - hipster, dark, moody, industrial, cool - is perfect for a burger and a beer. I asked to have a chair on the ground instead of a stool on my OoenTable reservation since Im pretty pregnant right now and didnt want to be wobbling. They didnt see that note till later and that kind of table wasnt available. The host was so sweet - he swapped out my regular stool with a barstool that had a back to it so I had more support and it was perfect. It was a lovely evening with top notch food.
Had aunts from out of town visiting. went in for dinner on a Saturday evening and luckily got four seats right at the bar. bartenders were friendly, cool, and very attentive. the food, as always, was outstanding. the aunts cant stop talking about it and insist we go there again on the next visit. thats a pretty convincing review all by itself!
ABV is one of the best places around for burgers The only reason I gave 4 stars was the VERY long wait that we had. Granted, it was a Saturday afternoon, and we understand the staffing issues, but we still waited a very long time. Our waitress was exceptional, the burgers were amazing, and the whole experience was worth the wait.We will definitely return - but maybe well go at a time when the crowds are less.
My favorite burger place in town.I dont eat beef, so I need to order burger with other meat. They offer a lot of varieties. I personally prefer lamb burger. Tuna burger is also fresh, tastes like Japaneses food.According to my friends, their normal burger with beef is quite good as well.
Allen town is awesome and so is the food at Burger Venture. Ive ordered from here a couple of times but it was my first time eating at their location. Sadly, when I first walked in it wasnt so welcoming but our waiter was amazing. He was super nice, knew the menu so well and was attentive with the water-it was a hot day and we ate in their outside space. Cant wait to come back and try their other burgers!
Visited the place on Friday evening. Fairly crowded but we got seats immediately. We initially preferred indoors but there was draft on our seat so went outdoors. The number five burger on the menu was delicious. The accompanying fries were good too. The McAllen 187 single malt whisky was silky smooth. I skipped a star due to service. It was slow and took long to get our drinks order and drinks. Overall a recommendable Friday evening place.
Absolutely superb!Any chance I can add a custom gourmet burger to a gourmet salad, I’m in culinary heaven. Even though I don’t do gluten or grain, I still enjoyed my meal immensely. If your gluten free, don’t feel like you need to shy away from ABV. There’s something for everyone here!
Love the burgers and the FRIES, on point. Worth visiting. Sometimes there is a wait but its worth it. The interior is a funky warehouse vibe which is cool. I would like better seating. The high top tables have little leg room and the stools are 50/50 on comfort. I like to have a solid base when Im getting my chew on. And I think the music stays on like a -5db when like -15db would be great. Ok Im trying too hard to impress. Music...too loud!Enjoy. I will again and again and...10/10/20My wife enjoys a good lobster roll. I can take it or leave it myself. That being said we just went back for the lobster roll. Famous quote, its to die for not really but I couldnt find any other quote thats more dramatic. I felt this review needed a little drama. So add the lobster 🦞 roll to your list of must haves from AVB
The food was great, the atmosphere is amazing, and the drinks were good. Surprisingly I think the best thing I ate was the bun on the burger. It was so light and fluffy on the inside and crunchy on the out. It really complimented the burger I got. Maybe they make their own bread, I really have no idea, but it was a really good meal all around. No complaints.
One of my favorite places to eat and drink in Buffalo. They have the best burgers around, such a huge variety and pallet of tastes. The drinks are awesome too with a revolving selection of craft beers on tap. Always find something fun and tasty on the menus. They also have a great choice of Whiskey, Ryes and Scotches available as well, try one of the flights to give your tastebuds a delight. Will be a repeat customer time and time again because of an awesome atmosphere and some of the best customer service in the industry.
Great spot! Delicious burgers... we had a pastrami burger which was savory and amazing and a caramelized onion with gruyere and arugula burger...also delightful. Tots are wickedly awesome. They tasted like little latke. So good! Drinks were great, service was exceptional and well definitely be back!
Stopped to have lunch with my wife and son. Great atmosphere, nice selection of local brews on tap. The burgers wwrecorderedc were very good although cooked well done instead of the ordered medium. My wifes lobster roll and salad looked good however, was ruined for her as it came with cracked pepper loaded on it. She cannot tolerate pepper due to medical issues. Most establishments ask you first.
They kill it every time. Delicious food and great staff. What really impressed me, apart from the penut butter-laden burger, was their use of cardboard and environmentally friendly to-go packaging material. Great to see a resturant making the commitment to reducing plastic pollution by eliminating single use plastics from their lineup. Imma be back. Andys the man
Having been here a few times now I see how the ratings for here are so good. The food and beverage selection here is satisfying. If youre a burger fan you can ear to your hearts content with so many options scratch that itch. On par with the burgers are the beers to pair with them. An extensive draft list and also some cans available to take home as well. Will return.
Second visit for us and has to have the Nashville Chicken appetizer. Had to ask for more dipping sauce to keep those moist thighs going.Hamburgers for each of us were different but we all thoroughly enjoyed what we ordered. My side was the truffle fries and they were excellent. My wife had a huge side salad as her side which she devoured and her son had some pretty good looking and eating onion rings.Well be back.Tables were full when we got there so we has to wait outside of the establishment. A couple restaurant bars are down the street which we walked to and had a drink while waiting.
This is one of the best meals I have ever had. I went with my parents and we all got different burgers. It was all 10/10! I hope to come back again. Everything was absolutely amazing. We also got some beers which was great too!!!! I highly recommend this place!!!! Everyone was very nice too!♡ I cant believe people gave this place one star. They must be really picky because I loveddddd this place!
First time hear, and the food, menu options, atmosphere, decor, meat, smasher meat, and non meat choices were all on point! Loved that there is a little something for everyone on the menu. Loved the in-house tots! This is def a 4.5 eatery, and I am only leaving a 3 this time because of the service that day struggled hard to keep up ( it happens ), and I ordered a Caesar Salad, and got mixed greens with a very good tasting Caesar dressing; however I really missed and was expecting a traditional CS with that crunch from the romaine and croutons. Def will try again though.
The burgers were excellent. Unless youre a competitive eater, there is no need to order the double, the regular is plenty big enough. The fries were fresh cut, crispy on the outside and tender inside, and were also in very sufficient quantity to complement the meal. Todays beers were good enough, but definitely the lesser part of the experience.
This place has a great atmosphere. Maybe a little dark for some, but the feel, the decor and the music all make it work. A comfortable and small patio. The beer selection is large in size with a familiar local selection, with a few seasonal choices. The place is also always clean and everyone, even the security are pleasant and helpful. And then finally the burgers. Just yes. You need one. Also the grilled cheese for the late night mandatory Covid food selection. They need to keep that on the menu.
Traveling through from Massachusetts. Could only pick 1 place to eat at. Wowie wow wow! You know when you get take out in a new town and your expectations are simply to get a decent meal. Well, I was blown away. I ordered the black bean burger, I have had hundreds of black bean burgers in my lifetime. This was fully 10/10. The kale mango business on top complemented the crispy patty so nicely. Truffle tots 11/10... I mean, just best ever. I wasn’t even hungry to be honest but once i got it all back to the Airbnb I was so excited. Husband got hot Buffalo wings. He loved them. All around perfect meal. Hot, fresh, resounding yes!
This is a good restaurant. We had reservations for 2 on a Saturday night and showed up a half an hour early The place was busy but we were seated immediately. Service was prompt and courteous. The place is small and became a little cold because the door open to the entire place. There was a draft every time the door was opened. The place is also loud. They only have high top tables. The beer selection was good. The had 24 beers on tap and at least something for everyone. They also have cans and mixed drinks. The food was good. We both had burgers. Id be willing to say the burgers are close to the best in downtown Buffalo. The beef is delicious. The fries are hand cut and delicious as well. All in all, its a good place.
Burgers were terrific. Too many places live off the variety of their toppings but don’t focus on the meat. This place has a slew of great combinations that top a very good beef patty. Stick with the fries over the “upgrade” tots; the fries are excellent whereas the tots are just pretty good.
Not a bad place ... Just not my favorite. Good selection of burgers, some really interesting combinations. Great beer and spirits selection.Ambiance is cool - very urban with old time decor. There is an outdoor patio as well.Somewhat limited menu and everything seemed a bit greasy. Onion rings and tater tots were especially greasy. The dipping sauce you get with the tots is really good. Prices are about average. $15-18 for a burger with fries. Service was good as well.
Hands down the best burger in town! Easily comparable to the best in Manhattan & Toronto. Great portions, excellent service & awesome atmosphere. Seating however needs a major overhaul. The high top tables have little leg room, even if youre short, and the stools are uncomfortable. Mike needs to expand!
We stopped here after we were unable to get in 2 places for wings and were so happy we did! The service was excellent, there were lots of beer choices and a nice list of cocktails. The burgers were creative with lots of interesting ingredients! I had the number 5 which had peanut butter, bacon and pickles jalopenos and it was delicious!! It will be hard to top that burger. Great stop!
Burgers are way too pricey at $17-20. Add on another $6 if you want a double, a couple more dollars for 5 small tater tots or $6 upcharge for salad instead of fries. About $30 for a burger. The burger I ordered on the menu, they were out of the pastrami thats supposed to be on it. I asked for proscuitto as a substitute and there was a very tiny piece on the side of the burger. Not impressed whatsoever. I suggest go to Five Guys and save $50-60.
The food is way overpriced for what it is. The burgers themselves vary in quality considerably. Ive had burgers that were pretty good and others that were completely terrible. That description also fits the service. Ive often had to wait over 40 minutes for a burger when the place was fairly empty. The decor is your standard millennial factory turned industrial eatery, but somehow their wooden seats seem doubly uncomfortable. I really cant wait for the slab of wood chair trend to die off. As much as I try I cant really think of any reason to recommend this place to anyone.
I was there with a buddy celebrating finishing up a big job. Split a burger and fries. Ended up drinking a couple beers called burning money. Food came out around the time three more people showed up. Place was very accommodating to added guests on a rainy day. Plenty of seating. Very happy to have business operating. Very good food very grateful servers. Was there with Rick from Electric Avenue who got every one drinking shots of AJou mixed with vodka. I didnt participate in the shots but was very highly entertained. Felt like I was with celebrities.
Burgers were excellent! Our waiter, Chris, was fantastic. Despite being busy, he took time to review the menu with us and answer questions on the burgers we had interest in ordering. The entire experience was excellent. If you like gourmet burgers and dogs, this is a great place to try. You wont be disappointed.
The burgers are fantastic and they have a nice variety. The service was great. Yes theyre a little pricey but if you dont know how much a place costs in 2018 thats on you. I should have got the taters that come with some sauce that everybody else ordered it looked awesome.
We had a group of 4 and had to wait about 45 minutes on a Friday night, but it was well worth the wait. The restaurant is pretty small so a wait at peak times should be expected. The bar has a large selection of craft beer on tap. The burgers were fantastic. They were cooked perfectly and the seasoning gave them a great flavor.
A friend of mine recommended this place and Im glad we checked it out. They offer a super unique establishment with lots to look at from all the album covers on the wall to the farm utensils as beer taps. The patio is prefect to enjoy something off their big whisky menu or the great selection of craft beers. Now, the burgers... What a combination, bourbon bacon, brown sugar marmalade and goat cheese, absolutely incredible... The patty was big and fresh, and the bun was super soft. The fries and onion rings were a great combination. This place is a must visit if youre visiting the city.
Really nice burger joint in downtown buffalo. The ambience of the place is nice and have seen it to be mostly full in the summer evenings. The food is great - you could try any one of their burgers which are served with fries/ chips. Generous quantity and appropriate prices, I would definitely suggest a visit if you like burgers.Nice choice of drinks as well for the bar.
This place offers the best burger I have ever had. The meal price is on the higher end, but the food is well worth it! The area has an amazing curated feel. The soft lighting from Edison bulbs in all fixtures, and industrial looking tables of thick wood looking like they were carts taken right off the floor and made into tables (some tables even have heavy wheels on the sides which are a nice touch and fun to fiddle with) really add to the feel. Due to the price point this isnt a once a week place, but a once a month place for the best burger around.
Absolutely loved the food here. We went at a pretty busy time and were lucky to be seated quickly. Excellent selection of craft beers too. Their burgers and tater tots were phenomenal. Honestly, everything I ate here was fantastic. They even had more uncommon burgers to choose from such as wild boar and vegetarian options as well. I highly recommend this place.
Liked the ambiance of this a lot. The food was damn good. I specifically got the Colorado Lamb Burger, the ABV one and not the one they offer as a special. Anyhow, the burger was delicious. Had mine done medium-rare. Thought it could have had more flavor but nonetheless it was delicious. Will definitely come back and try another burger or two out in the future.
If you want a great burger with a cool atmosphere this is the place to go. With a large group of 12 I was super impressed how quick the service was and that every order came out right. They were super accommodating to dietary restrictions! The only reason Im not giving this establishment a 5 is because the guac that came with my burger was brown
Food was fantastic. Beer selection is excellent. Our server was not as attentive as I would have liked. Yes, they were busy but then I feel like they should have staffed themselves accordingly. That being said, you should go there and fall in love with their burgers because they are excellent.
Went here for the first time today. Ordered the Eleven with Truffle frys for myself and wife had the truffel parm wings. Everything was cooked perfectly and was delicious. I would like to not the wings do not clearly state on their menue that them come with jalapenos. My wife does not like spicy but was able to pick them off so it was a non issue for her. I would recommend this restaurant burger lovers as the food is amazing!
Great staff, great decor and even better food! Anyone who has kids will know my pain of trying to find a place that has good food and is family-friendly. My sister and I went to lunch here with 2 toddlers and the staff was great - offered us crayons & coloring sheets and didnt mind my active 2 year old walking around the restaurant and talking to patrons & staff. We never felt like our presence was inconveniencing the staff or the other patrons. We didnt feel tolerated but welcomed, so kudos to the staff for that. Ill definitely come back and always recommend ABV to friends and family visiting Buffalo.
The burger was wonderful but the truffle fries are in a class of their own. The mayo-aioli is so good you will want to drink it! The beer selection is outstanding. The service is stellar. You are truly missing out if you do not try this place when you are in the mood for a burger.
I had high hopes for this place but my experience was absolutely awful. I ordered a burger medium rare and got a basically well done burger and also ordered the truffle fries and got onion rings instead which were way too fried. The waiter never saw us after he got us our first round of drinks and it was a chore to find him and get another round also for $17 a burger the ingredients should be quality and if it says blue cheese they should give you blue cheese not a cheap blue cheese dressing. Very disappointed I will never come back and the people I were with felt ripped off. I do not recommend this place to anyone
The menu here is focused and fantastic. Its a red meat joint, burgers. I could easily just work down the menu with each burger being a unique creation that is well thought out with its combination of ingredients. My favorites? The prosciutto wrapped burger with a delicious aoli and housemade, handmade tater tots on the side. The beer selections are extensive and varied, and the service is always good.
Tried it for the first time tonight and it is now one of my favorites!!! Atmosphere is very cool and very cozy. Has an upscale feel to it, but on the other hand very casual. Our waiter, Brian (and all staff that we came in contact with) was awesome!! He was super helpful and easy to talk to. And of course, the food was delicious!!! Prices are high, but honestly worth it!! Great quality, great tasting and great portions. Highly recommend
Super good burgers, great combinations, the onion rings are massive and tasty, and they have a huge bar of bourbon and whiskey and 24 beers on tap. The bartenders were super nice and friendly, the place was crowded wish they had more space but they probably do to. Deffinetly the place to go for a great burger. With that said I’m coming back again at some point
Its a great little place with a great atmosphere. Food was exceptional. Servers were nice. We were there at a somewhat busy time (but not packed) and we didnt wait long for our food at all. The only cons are that every time someone came in, the entire restaurant got blasted with freezing cold air from outside. They need a partition or something. It probably wouldnt be an issue except for winter but thats when we were there and it made it uncomfortable. Also, the actual seating is awful. Hard, flat, uncomfortable stools for most of the seating. I was constantly fidgeting around, trying to get comfortable almost immediately after sitting down. Overall its a great place with great food and nice beer and booze selection and only a couple tweaks that Id make.
Friendly staff and good food. If youre looking for a plain cheese burger they will make it but I definitely recommend their specialty burgers. I love the Jiffy Burger but theres a number of other really good ones there. I hear they are adding gourmet specialty hot dogs soon.
If you have to wait, and you almost certainly have to wait 45 minutes or more, DO NOT go for a walk in the neighborhood around this place. The surrounding area is really bad and not family friendly. Yikes. Food was good but overpriced. Allentown has fell apart I tbhe past few years but I did not know it was this bad.
Great burgers with a variety of different types and a very unusual but good selection. About 20 beers on tap that are constantly changing but they usually have a fairly good selection. Rating 4 stars because the burgers are fairly expensive at about $17-$20 but they do taste very good!
Burgers are on my favorite food types, with that being said I’m always on the lookout for new and interesting places to try. Allen Burger Venture is one of the best burgers I’ve ever had anywhere. Numerous combinations and specials to keep you coming back. Be sure to try the unconventional ones - the peanut butter is amazing!
I wanted one of everything on the menu! Forrest mushroom burger was good. The jiffy burger was also surprisingly good! Peanut butter and beef.. who would have thought!? One of my relatives got the smash burger in a quint... its like a mountain of meat! To his surprise he cleaned his plate.
Tater tots were very good and the burger which was good was over done. After I read their write up in the Buffalo news stating that if you order a medium rare burger you get a medium rare burger. That was not the case with mine or the other two burgers that were ordered by others at the table. Overall good food.
We visited Buffalo from Toronto for a Leafs game and were referred to this gem by a friend who is a local. The food was amazing and very filling! The burgers come in many different options. It was nice that there was more than just a standard veggie burger for our vegetarian friend to choose from. As for the sides I only tried the fries, which were very good. But was told by a friend that the hash brown was a must try. We visited on a Sunday afternoon and had about a 30 minute wait to be seated. Parking is street parking, so you might have to circle a bit to get a spot. But all in all I would definitely return and recommend this restaurant to others.
I love this place! They have a gluten free fryer too now! A little on the expensive side but still worth it. Maybe avoid weekend nights if youre just trying to eat since it can get roudy. I think the wait staff has gotten better with time - had some long waits during earlier visits.Other than those points they make great food in a prime location.
For what should be a great restaurant (for everyone) the veg option(s) are inexplicably terrible. imo, it’s a huge missed opportunity! i wish they had something i liked so i could spend $1,000,000 on beer & vibe like everyone else ://. please hook me up with something fam!!!
Would highly suggest checking this place out. We had great food and service. With a rock and roll style, whiskey, burgers and craft beers, you cant go wrong. Great quality beef for the burgers. The tots & dip were very uniquely done. The staff was very welcoming and attentive. You can tell its a great local spot.
Awesome selection of burgers, craft brews, and whiskeys. They have both a standard and featured burger menu offering a wide variety and selection of thoughtfully crafted offerings,. Being someone who loves a good burger, I could easily picture myself spending a lot of time here - and the hand cut fries are fabulous-- great meal!
Great burgers! Interesting choices with around a dozen unique ways to make a delicious burger. They have sides like loaded tater tots and such which are good, but the burger alone is enough to fill you up. Dont think you only come here for burgers though. Its a nice place to come have a beer with friends and a lot of people in there appeared to be regulars who come for the great environment and a great selection of local beers, IPAs and more.

2022-05-28A running joke in my family is that we judge a restaurant by their calamari. We’ll, ABV just topped our list. Actually, all of the food was delicious. We sat on the patio on a perfect pre-Memorial Day weekend. Couldn’t have had a better experience. Our waitress and the host were great as well.

2022-05-26Don’t bring your diet here. The food is ABSOLUTELY delicious. My husband and I loved both of our burgers. One of the best food places we’ve been during our times in Buffalo. We will be back next time!

2022-02-13Decent wait in a pretty small waiting area, but definitely worth it. The wings were fantastic and perfectly cooked. For smashed style burgers both mine and my wifes were perfectly cooked. Great fries as well. The real star is the beer selection. Huge list of big names in craft beer and an even bigger whiskey list. A new favorite in Buffalo.

2022-01-11I had the Schilling Alexander for a lighter beer to pair with the Number Six, pulled pork and an onion ring on a burger.Bartender was helpful with suggestions and attentive while I was there. The burger was spot on medium, the cheese nice and melty and the pulled pork was tender and the sauce nice and tangy.Definitely a spot to recommend for a burger and beer stop!Side note, the gentleman next to me ordered the calamari and it was more than enough for a group!

2021-12-29ABV is the place to be if you want to start your evening off right. The vibe is cool almost have you thinking that you’re in a club, (because of the time I came 7pm). The lighting was dim with a purplish/blue tone & it’s kind of dark inside. Also the seating is fairly close, this was surprising to me during these Covid times. I feel a few tables should be removed to open up the place a bit. Would I come back? Probably not. If I did though, it would be for the drinks. The order-#4-All American cheeseburger with LTO and a sauce. I really enjoyed how fresh everything on the burger was. I didn’t have that heavy, “awww why did I eat that burger” feeling that lingers for hours. But, for me the burger was just to plain. I felt it lack some better seasonings on the patty itself. The Big Daddy- Grilled cheese burger made completely different than I thought. I expected a burger sandwiched in between two grilled cheese sandwiches. What I got was a burger with the bun inside out, with the cheese melted on the top of the bun. Again, even this burger lacked flavor.Truffled Parmesan wings- If you like sauce you’ll love these. I really didn’t taste the truffle. But the wings were crispy and had a white sauce with Parmesan flakes on top. The sauce almost reminded me of Alfredo.Last thoughts- I would like for ABV to look into changing the type of cheese they are using for their burgers. I think using a more gooey cheese would do wonders. Nothing beats biting into a burger and seeing a string of cheese bridging the gap.

2021-12-12Best burger place in Buffalo. My favorite is the one with the peanut butter. Bacon and jalapeno come with it. Nashville chicken and wings are also great!

2021-10-24Delicious and creative burger options - try the garlic burger. Tater tots are unbelievably good. Fantastic selection of microbrews as well. Got a healthier option, one in our group got the salad with a tuna patty - both were bigger anticipated and excellent!!
