Amazing! This is the second time I have ordered for my family in Nesconset. I own a bakery in Florida and wanted something authentic and yummy to send them. My sister and Brother inlaw loved the carrot cake the first time and this time the blackout cake. The black and white cookies barely made it into the house. They are his favorite. Thank you Alpine!
I love all things alpine bakery....so I was extremely upset that my wedding cake was absolutely embarassing. I asked for a plain cake with cascading roses, and I got weird piping and just horrible weird flower placement. It tasted good (luckily) but it was so embarrassing.
Best Italian Bakery💘 anywhere! Ya better back up upon entering. cuz Alpine Bakery is the Bomb!Huge selection of Cheesecakes and cookies, croissants, Italian pastries to custom cakes- it is all baked Yummieness! Everything is so tempting, that diet common sense will waltz out the door once you stroll in!Their fragrant aroma will have you drooling and hungry very quickly!Let their creative staff customize a cake for your event.Their specialty cakes look and taste unbelievably delicious. I love their Holiday themed cakes- they bring smiles wherever you take them!I come here all the time. Cheesecake and Cannoli anything, are my favorites. Bring home a delicious surprise for your family. Alpine Bakery gives you that comforting home style taste that is so satisfying.. 💋
I have a major sweet tooth, but, surprisingly, I am not a big fan of bakeries because I have such high hopes and I am always disappointed. WOW Alpine Bakery is soo good, everything I have ever had (chocolate cherry cake, pecan ring, assorted cookies, etc.) have always exceeded my expectations. Definitely my favorite bakery, I will continue to enjoy their treats!
Ordered two cheesecakes. Asked that they be split in half and put into their respective boxes..we were delivering to a family member of ours who has covid. Normally we’d be able to have the cakes together but for obvious reasons we were apart and trying to make the best of it. We get told there is a $2 fee for cutting each cake. Cakes that we were buying in full..that would have been put in those same boxes anyway. So it was $4 because you feel like it? It’s not like you would have been out a cake, or used any different number of boxes, you wanted to charge four dollars for putting a knife through a cake. Are you kidding me? We have been going to this bakery for over 25 years. You are a pillar in our community. Change this policy
Storefront was clean and well kept. Walking in I was blasted with the aromas of a bakery. It instantly made my mouth start to water. We ended up ordered some bread, cookies and an assortment of pastries. Everything was too quality and well worth the trip. My favorite was the sourdough and rye bread which is in the same loaf. It was excellent plain and even better the next day toasted with breakfast
Alpine Bakery is worth the visit! Great selection of bread, cookies, cupcakes, pastries and cakes. The counter help are all knowledgeable, polite and friendly. The store is immaculately clean. Pastry and cookie prices arent cheap, but are very good. The cake prices I found reasonable.
I ordered a Princess Belle birthday cake for my daughter. Wow, it was beautiful and I did not want to cut it! The decorations on the cake imaged Belles yellow dress beautifully. And the cake was delicious! Buttercream frosting and chocolate/vanilla pudding. I received many compliments on the cake. Job well done!
This was the worst experience I have ever had in Long Island. The employees are unwelcoming and very rude. And normally most places will have atleast ONE decent member of staff but even the manager who is blonde I think named Karen was very unprofessional. It seems like they are trained to racially profile and only help white customers. I think it’s time these people are reported since I’m reading MANY other reviews where people have had a similar distasteful experience. Business should be shut down til they learn how to respect people of ALL communities . We all pay taxes and must learn to coexist in this country. No humanity, just hate in this bakery .. very sad
My husband was just there , about 6pm 12/30, he picked up a jelly cronut as an anniversary treat for me, the thing is rock hard!!! Not edible. Straight in the garbage can!I’ve had them before and they’re delicious but you can’t keep cronuts on the shelf for days and keep selling them!
If I died this is what I imagine heaven would be like, the sheets of rainbow cookies look like they go on for miles and the cookies are massive as well, the lobster tails are unrivaled and everything in the pastry shop is absolutely amazing and worth every single penny spent. It is an addiction but an addiction that I will probably never rid myself of or want to get rid of.
BEST BAKERY IN SUFFOLK!!! MAYBE THE WHOLE ISLAND!!! ALWAYS FRESH AND DELICIOUS!!! NEVER FAKE TASTING OR ARTIFICIAL...LOTS OF LOVE IN ALL THEIR BAKED DELIGHTS...LIFELONG CUSTOMER FOR SURE!!! DEFINITELY TRY THE CRO-NUTS WITH EITHER THE LOBSTER CREAM OR BOSTON CREAM FILLING YUM!!!!
Alpine is my favorite bakery, and the chocolate raspberry mousse cake my favorite one here. Ive eaten more than my share of pastries from Alpine, however, and everything has been delicious. Thank you, Alpine, for the delightful work that you do. It softens the edges of challenging times, and makes the happy ones even happier!
How do I describe it Alpine? One word - Fantastic..plain and simple. Have been going there for years. Their cakes, cookies and pastries are absolutely delicious. They are making a custom 25th wedding anniversary cake for us. They are popular so be ready for a line. But what is inside (including the pleasant staff) is worth the wait.
So, Alpine is known in Smithtown for its delicious pastries and baked goods. Its undeniable that they make amazing cakes and cookies. The only problem is that the staff often have an attitude. They arent the friendliest people around. Ive noticed this, and heard it echoed from others. If they added a few more drops of customer service to their recipe, Id give them 5 stars!
Wish I could zero stars. Asked the girl behind the counter for a plain cheesecake and when we got home and I opened the box the cake was a werid tan color with a huge crack down the middle top of cake. We tried it and it tastes like Carmel and has a horrible bitter after taste and it was not cooked through the middle. What kind of bakery does know how to bake a cheesecake properly . Just terrible. Ive bought cheesecake from here before and it was good not sure what happened this time.
I had my son’s first birthday party this weekend and I actually called Alpine last minute because with planning everything else of course the important part, CAKE, left my mind and I didn’t think about it until about five days before the party! Alpine still came through and was able to make me a beautiful 90 person sheet cake with adorable blues clues decorations it came out absolutely perfect and the taste of this cake was out of this world! Huge hit for the party!
The most delicious rainbow cookies I have ever had. Apricot jam in them is wonderful, sure beats the artificial cherry jam used in other cookies, chocolate coating is perfectly crisp - not soggy, and the cookie is so moist. Cannoli was excellent too, not stale with a delightful cinnamon flavor.
I visited this bakery for the first time yesterday because the local bakery I usually go to was almost out of mini cupcakes. It turns out they not only had many great flavors available, but they were also better. The service was also friendly and efficient. I will definitely be coming back.
Very wide selection, clean appearance. Fresh for the most part but not always. Ask for what’s in the front, and don’t worry if the workers get annoyed which they will. More of an American perception of what constitutes Italian baked goods, rather than authentic Italian. I find their pricing to be steep. I think the owners are a bit money hungry/tyrant like. They charge an arm and a leg but won’t put heat on for their employees. I was there one day when a worker timidly asked to put the heat on. That turned me off I must say.
Extremely rude staff. An older woman that works there has absolutely no clue how to speak to customers. I had ordered a smash cake for my son and paid over the phone. When I arrived to pick it up the store was busy but not crazy. I waited my turn... and waited and waited. People coming in after me were leaving before I was helped. I saw a the woman mentioned above passing by and I said excuse me “I’m here to pick up a cake”- very politely I might add especially after waiting 15 mins. She says “get on line” I said “l was but people keep passing me up” She then has the nerve to say “ok so? I’m helping someone there’s nothing I can do about it” in a nasty tone and walks away. Finally a young girl came over and politely helped me and was apologetic. I worked at a bakery for 4 years when I was in high school and never treated a customer so disrespectfully. I would think someone her age would know better. To top it off.. my son hated the cake. Go someplace else.
We get several cakes from Alpine every year (atleast 6) and not once have we ever been disappointed with the flavor, design or care taken with our cakes. Our cakes are always beautiful and sometimes I go in there with some crazy ideas! The customer service is what really makes this place outstanding, everyone is so nice and helpful I love going there for treats.
We go here for every occasion and they always do a beautiful job on the cake to the point that we get numerous comments.More importantly, the cake is the most delicious you can find. It is hard to find beautiful cakes that also taste great. We have relatives from the area bring cakes to Nassau County for us for our events. They can’t be beat.
Their cakes are very good ,even their tiramisu cupcakes. I usually pick up a bday cake for my mom from there and get the strawberry shortcake. I would have had added 5 stars for my last visit but the employee didnt really get a good hand on the cake base while removing it from the display and left a thumb spot in the cake ( they had sanitary gloves on ). I wish they had number candles ... The store is good and clean I dont have any real issues with their pastries .
As an Italian, the pastries and cookies are great. we just celebrated my brothers birthday. we ordered a vanilla cake with raspberry mouse and whipped cream. it was delicious. it is also great with chocolate cake. cant remember the size, but it feed 12 people. altogether it cost $31.00. well worth it. I hope this helps. enjoy.
Alpine Bakery is just like the neighborhood bakery you used to visit when you were a kid (50 yrs ago) Quality products and also new types of pastries and cakes to keep up with the times. If you want to impress someone, or even step back in time, for a birthday or special occasion, buy a whipped cream cake with your choice of filling....moist and delicious and of the quality that cakes were years ago! Order ahead, though, it takes a day or two for perfection! 🎂
I ordered a cake from this shop for my engagement party, and I have to say it is the best cake I have had in New York. The soft, but sponge like consistency, combined with the buttercream icing simply was to die for. All of my guests kept asking me where I got this cake, and simply raved about it. This is going to be my go to bakery from now on!
I live too far away to go to this shop on a regular basis. I went to a baby shower and the gift bags had a big cookie in it from this place and it was addictingly good! I couldn’t just eat a little piece, one bite and I had to eat the whole thing! LOL If their other pastries are even half as good as this cookie, this place is Yum Yum yummy!
I came here for the first time a day before thanksgiving as it was recommend by many friends. I personally dont eat treats or anything sweet, so I really didnt know what I was getting. I just asked for a pre-made basket of variety cookies and waited for the results from the family. The said they were the BEST cookies since weve been coming to their thanksgivings (10 years now)
Cakes and pastries.... always fantastic.Diligence and accuracy? Non existent. My office has been buying birthday cakes for our employees for years. The past 8 cakes... 7 were incorrect.Apparently the task of finding people who care enough to do their job is beyond their purview.Ordering a cake the day before pick up should be easy.Nope. The person who answered the phone didn’t want to take the order. (Good for business....right?). When the cake was picked up, it wasn’t even made yet. So..... after being told that there are only 2 people who are competent to take a phone order, we got a cake that was just plain wrong.Nothing like being late for work in the morning because phone orders are too difficult for your staff to handle. The apathy is overwhelming.
Had picked up the most amazing Cannoli cake the other day for a work event. I showed up last minute and they did everything to accommodate me and really made it work out. Service was above and beyond excellent. Best part was once I got back and had a piece of the cake. Hands down the best I had ever had. Keep it up Alpine!
I ordered my daughter and her cousins joint party birthday cake during the week to have an easy pick up on a Sunday for their party and it wasn’t ready. Not only was it not ready but I waited 20 minutes online (which I had accounted for) and then another 20 minutes for the girl who was helping me to give up looking for it and asking around about its whereabouts which nobody knew. To finally be told it was never done but they had the type of cake made and it would take another 15 minutes to decorate it the way I had ordered and write on it. I asked to speak to a manager and was told that none were there so I asked to be called when they came in. I was a half hour late to my own child’s birthday which was only 10 minutes away and never received a call from a manager. The cakes are great but customer service is equally as important.
It was really important to me that our wedding cake be really fun, so when we saw Alpine’s funfetti cake, we knew that we needed a large version of it, and that’s exactly what they did! Our guests were gawking at the cake for most of the reception and everyone was so excited to try it! We also did matching funfetti cupcake favors from here and our guests loved them! Karol was wonderful to work with and we will definitely be ordering cakes for them in the future.
Not enough can be said about this establishment. You will be totally blown away when you first walk in the door by the smell of there Amazing Pastries and so much to choose from. There Cakes ate the Absolute Best. This is the Only Bakery I will use. I wish they would ship.
I come here for every occasion. I love their cakes and pastries. They are always friendly and I think they have reasonable prices. The bakery is always clean and neat. This is the only bakery on the island that I go to because I think theyre amazing. Good service and food are hard to find and they have it all.
Hands down my favorite bakery in the area ! Every time I’ve come (trust me it’s consistent) everything is always soooooo fresh and delicious! Their cronuts take the cake — they’re so light and decadent. They also have amazing raspberry preserve stuffed shortbread cookies dipped in chocolate that are to live for !
My first time going there i bought elmo cake pops for my daughters birthday! they were beautiful and tasted amazing! loved how they individually wrapped them with ribbon! they took my order and payment on a thursday and i picked up saturday! they were the only bakery to do that which was amazing since i’m always so last minute lol! will deff be buying all my goodies for my parties from there from now on!
Ive been going here for years. Everything I have ever gotten has been amazing. I highly recommend this bakery for any of your bakery needs. If there is a line, please dont let it dissuade you. The line moves fast and the food is top notch. You will not be disappointed.
We want to thank Alpine Pastry Shop for the most beautiful cake ever.It was exactly what we asked for and the cake was delicious. This was our first experience with you, and you now have a new customer.Thank you for making my daughters Sweet 16 extra special.I look forward to doing all my business with you in the future.
Ordered a 9 inch cake for a baby shower. Cake instructions was a fondant cake white with blue footprints. I was advised oh fondant is $30 extra I replied that’s fine price does not matter. The woman advised this cake is going to be $96. I again advised that’s fine I am not worried about the price. I go in to pick up the cake white sheet of fondant over a 9” cake $30 no blue fondant footprints not one. Instead blue buttercream footprint on top with buttercream polka dots. Not at all what I wanted. I could have very easily had whip cream or buttercream for that matter since the footprints were buttercream. I tell the woman I was picking the cake up from that’s not what I ordered nothing no concern, no I’m sorry it’s not what you wanted just rang me up $96 please. I ask the girl who she was training might I add was very sweet and concerned , when is a manger in and she said I can get you one now. I should have said ok but nope i didn’t. Out of respect for Alpine seeing they had customers in there I did not want to complain In front of customers. I call explain my problem I am asked to hold for two seconds I do. Phone gets picked up woman that took my order answers and advised me you never asked for fondant footprints. I replied I asked for a fondant cake with blue foot prints and if necessary they could add blue polka dots. So I guess this is my fault. Sorry Alpine you need customer service training. You don’t charge $96 for a 9” inch cake and not be concerned when you do it wrong. You may have a good reputation but this was an epic fail for me. Sorry I won’t be back not that you will care about that either.
I love this place! The sweetest place to go! The tiramisu cake is out of this world, I’ve been getting it for over 25 years and some how it always gets better and better. There are so many desserts to choose from but some my favorites are the rainbow cookies (you will not find any other like them) and the croinuts, so many to choose from. My husband will only eat thier Italian bread, it’s soft on the inside and crispy on the outside, so good! The staff is always helpful and friendly. Really the best bakery on Long Island
I’m not rating the food just the service. This was my first time attempting to use Alpine bakery. I called to see if I could order a cheesecake for mother’s Day since I couldn’t get to the store first thing in the morning and didn’t want them to be sold out. I was told you can’t order anything that we have in the store already. I said well I want to make sure that they will have a strawberry cheesecake available. If your not able to order a cheesecake then why can’t someone prepay and have it put on hold. I really don’t understand what the problem is. I guess they just wanted me to go in on Sunday and hope for the best. Oh well I gave them a shot I’ll go somewhere that wants my business
I used to love this bakery but was not happy AT ALL with my last experience or the way it was handled. Ordered a cake to be delivered for a birthday party, they came an hour after the allotted time window for delivery. I called 4 times to the bakery and each time got a different incorrect story about what was going on. At one point they said they didn’t have a phone number for their driver to call and see where they were . Who doesn’t have employees phone numbers ?? The lies continued with a half apology at the end. The cake was delivered in the middle of a party where it was Supposed to be displayed and when it finally did show up it was the wrong colors and didn’t have any writing on it like it was supposed to
Wanted a tiny gender reveal cake made on short notice for my husband and I, and was turned away from so many other local bakeries due to the few hour short notice. Alpine went above and beyond to make sure I had something for this evening and its beautiful. Thank you so much.
I just have to say thank you, they donated boxes of items to our hospital party we had for our patients, they were so happy and thankful for what Alpine did...they are top notch and an excellent member of the community thank you so much for making my patients smile...and yes it was real good.
I was heading to a party in North Babylon from NYC and needed to bring a dessert ASAP. I searched on google maps and found this awesome bakery with good reviews on my way in Long Island. Being a born-raised Italian American Brooklynite I found the quality done on these pastries and cookies to be at standards of what I expect at a respectable bakery back in the old days. The cannoli cream is light and not too sweet. A reminder of the way the cream is made when I tried one when visiting Sicily. The quality and freshness of the rainbow cookies brought me back to my childhood when I first discovered the taste of this timeless and difficult to master pastry. The party guests and host asked me where did I get the cannoli cake and rainbow cookies. I didnt hesitate giving them the name and address of Alpine pastry. I will definitely save this location on my phone and will come back often. Keep up the great job guys and to all the Google readers please taste what this pastry shop has to offer you wont be disappointed. Enjoy!
This bakery has the worst customer service of any bakery Ive ever been too. Ive never been to a bakery that penny pinches its customers like this one does. You order 3/4 pound of something they give you .77 lb. & charge you for ever penny. If its $16 for a pound & I ask for 3/4 pound Im expecting to pay $12. Charging $12.28 is disgraceful.I also asked to try one of the cookies I was buying & they said theyd have to charge me.This Bakery does not care about their customers and does not care about developing a customer base and a positive customer service experience dont waste your time or your money on these people
The best on Long Island. Its not a sit down like Roccos in NYC, but everything they make is second to none. Cakes, pies, everything. The canolis are filled fresh which is the right way to do it. The selection is second to none as well. Pastries, such different cakes, pudding type cakes, its a dream!Dont go early in the weekend as there will be a line. Go before hand once to see everything they have as theres so much to see. Its worth the trek to Smithtown.
Come down to Cary, NC amd show them what a Bakery should look like! Long time Long Islander says this is the Best Bakery around...Rum Babas are the best. CHOCOLATE Rum Balls a close 2nd. You guys have it all now gring it down here please! Love the cakes, cookies, and bread as well. NC has terrible bread. Will always visit when in town. LOVE Alpine Bakery.
After a long day at work I came home to discover this bakery box in my kitchen . Oh my goodness the best little pastries..I alway use to drive to west Hampton for the beach bakery for my family birthday cakes and black and white cookies. Thanks to my step mom I will no longer be heading to the Hamptons for the best sweet treats!!Hands down Alpine Pastry is the best bakery Ever! !! ❤️
-cake tasted like box cake mix-there was a weird film where u printed the picture onto the cake it tasted like paper and felt like if u were chewing on paper-the picture was blurry-the frosting had little to no flavor-the icing wasn’t fully smooth around the sides of the cake- the top of the cake wasn’t fully leveledThey only gave us 40 in store credit when the cake was almost 100 we asked for cash they said no
I had been here a few times. I love the cakes and pastries very delicious... but be carefull with what you are paying, ask for prices before you buy. They charged me different amounts for the same products on 2 ocassions. Now I am being carefull when buying and getting receipt.
I have been going to Alpine since 1991. The quality of the product is excellent, that is why lm sad to say I was very disappointed today.I stopped in to purchase various items for my husbands birthday and I was shocked to notice on my receipt that I had been charged $1.00 to have Happy birthday written on my $24.00 cake. The dollar is not the point, if it was I would not have gone to Alpine they are not the cheapest bakery in town. I just feel it poor business to charge for a service that no other bakery charges for, specially when only using a nickels with of icing. Its even worst to not even be informed of the charge. Shame on u Alpine bakery is this the way u reward your loyal patrons. I have recommended Alpine to hundreds of people over the years but I see now that the owners of Alpine put the all mighty dollar above giving their customer a small service that is done gratis and with a smile in every other bakery.
Service is terrible. I decided to try after seeing all the reviews but the staff is incompetent. They don’t know what their items are or what filling each cake has. One person had to ask another who had to ask another to find out what each cake was. It’s a waste of time for the customer. It also shouldn’t take 15 minutes to get a cake written on. Won’t be going there again.

2022-02-28My first order was cake pops for my daughters birthday (through doordash). The cake pops were packaged well, looked just like the photos, and they were delicious. Since then we place orders online whenever we get a sweet tooth. We finally went in person to purchase a cake recently and it smells so good in the store. There are a lot of options available and the service is awesome. Alpine is a fave in our home for sure.

2022-06-27They are just the best!! We love Alpine so much, and get their incredible cake pops, cakes, cupcakes, and brownies any time we can. They made cake pops for my wedding favors and they were just fabulous, we got so many compliments about how delicious they were. We had a miscommunication about the favors at one point and they were kind enough to accommodate us which we greatly appreciated. :-) :-) Wonderful bakery!!

2022-01-25Starting with the customer service that I received when I was trying to change the order very rude lady that answered… The cake was not done with the instructions that I had given them wrong color and design so disappointed since it was my daughter‘s birthday and there would be no time to fix the cake ….. spent roughly near $150 on this birthday cake absolutely disgusting The cake was dry on the inside and not done right … they couldn’t even get the color right … while I was waiting on line and there was a customer in front of me who had the same situation with their birthday cake being completely different to the instructions . This was my first time ordering from this bakery after hearing so many good things never again will I come here

2022-06-20Alpine happens to be one of the best bakeries on Long Island, it doesn’t matter that you spend a near fortune buying anything here cause they are extremely expensive. But the product is great quality so you expect to pay for it on certain occasions when we do make a trip to buy their delicacies. We just went yesterday to get my father some of his beloved pastries and the only thing I will complain about, we bought 10 large pastries, the girl stuffed them into a smaller box, when we got home, we had some broken pastries cause they were all on top of each other. If I’m going to spend 5.50 per lobster tell and close to 4 bucks a piece on a large pastry, the very least you can expect, is not broken apart pastries. The young girl who served us was new, it seemed. She took longer then the other girls and that’s ok, but recommend training them to use correct boxes so my product is not on top of each other and then broken when I go to serve. Otherwise, yes this is the best bakery on Long Island in my opinion. I gave only 4 stars based on cost. They are expensive!!!

2022-07-01They did a wonderful job with the cake for my sisters baby shower, it was exactly what I hoped for!
