Loved absolutely everything about my lunch at Amali. The owners and Chef were super friendly and accommodating and the food was absolutely amazing! The scallops, the sea bass, the salmon...all fantastic. The spread of appetizers that we tried was an amazing assortment of flavors and was more Mediterranean than Italian....I would recommend everything on the menu and I felt that everyone was covid-compliant and perfectly safe with masks, gloves, etc. The owners did a FABULOUS job and I am going to make a point to get to their other locations!!! Thank you so much!!
Enjoyed the service cocktails and food immensely. Its not full enclosed so if you get cold easily Id suggest to dress warm but they do have their heat lamps. Italian Mediterranean cuisine and an extensive wine selection. The staff is very friendly professional and attentive. Highly recommend
The best part is the homemade bread and wipped truffled butter.Excellent selection of wine, and all the matching required glasses for a better taste.Amali is not the kind of neighborhood spot but an excellent place to go for a dinner per se.The work on the food is to salute. Theres a beautiful seasoning, nice ingredients and really beautiful surprises in the plates. The plates feel like a soft melody and the whole dining experience is refined and pleasant like a gentle breeze.
Food was rather good, though the roasted pepper hummus was a miss. Strawberry tart wasn’t tart , but rather extremely sweet. Service was rushed, though the restaurant was empty. Mandating an 18% “admission fee” is pretty silly. It’s a minimalistic venue restaurant, not a nightclub.
Visited for brunch on Nov. 21 and the experience was pleasant. There is music in the background and plenty of outdoor seating. I made the reservation for 2 of us about one hour before. My husband ordered the Cavatalli and I ordered the Bolognese pasta. The Cavatalli has shredded braised lamb and a nice hint of mint. The bolognese was more flavorful and oily than expected. For drinks they offer unlimited Vueve for $40 which we will come back for... we had the Chardonnay, la belle roches, and definitely recommend it - it also has 5 stars on some wine lists. Definitely plan to come back. Last thing - their bread and dip is delicious!!!
Absolutely sublime dinner. Friends and I had attended Chef Alex’s cooking class at de Gustibus last night and dinner was so amazing, the Chef and his staff were so engaging and passionate about the food, that we decided to reserve a table for tonight. It did I not disappoint - truly one of the best meals I have ever enjoyed with such attentive and thoughtful service. My new favorite restaurant !!!!!
Literally for 12 people we paid $4,000, I wouldn’t go back again.Last weekend we went to celebrate our pre-wedding party at Amali, and because of the snow storm our friends weren’t able to fly obviously, they were visiting from across different states. Even the staff were surprised that we still made it in that horrible weather, the number that we told the restaurant was 20 because everybody was hoping to come. We ended up with 12 people because of canceled flights, and they still charged for 18 people. And what restaurant told us that we had to tell them week before, sorry we couldn’t estimate that our wedding will overlap with the extreme weather condition… when we notified them on our way that our friends will not able to make it they seemed super chill about it, even if I wouldn’t see the bill I wouldn’t realize they charged us. Overall we had a nice time, food was delicious, I just found the person we were in contact with was not very empathetic, and no waiter came to take our order for the 8 remaining meals, they just put it on our bill at the end.
The Worst dining experience ever. The waitress kept urging us to order drinking, order food and rush checkout, even though there were only three tables in the restaurant.I have noticed that she didn’t treat the guests at the next table with the same attitude,so what is her standard of hospitality. Mandatory 18% tip on the bill at checkout instead of asking you to pay for the quality of their service. We two girls spent 80$ dollars each, and didn’t get right service. This isn’t my first dinner at Amali NYC. But never expected to get such absurd experience .Update (7/12): Wonderful reply! if you say so. It really makes me feel traumatic awful to have dinner over there. Now I realize where does the root of rude attitude come from .
I dont usually write reviews but this was one of the worst experiences with food Ive had at an upscale restaurant.Cons:- The moules frites was absolutely terrible. The fries were tasteless and very greasy. The broth was thick, oily, and also somehow bland. Finally, the mussels themselves were not fresh, giving a sour aftertaste, and you could tell they werent prepared well as they were full of sand! This was the first time we ever had to send a dish back as it was simply inedible.- The cod gyro was 70% greasy fries as above. The gyro itself was unbelievably bland. Im not sure how they managed to make something so tasteless. A simple gyro from a food cart on the street is an order of magnitude higher quality.- The two cocktails we had were low on liquor and high on sugar.Pros:- Nice interior- Attentive staff, they took the moules frites off our bill- Whipped feta appetizer was decentWith so many good places around Manhattan, we wont likely give this place another shot for a long time.
Amali takes you through a high-end, incredibly fresh and well curated Mediterranean menu with pieces that are so uniquely flavorful, I end up coming back over and over again even in 30 degree weather. The outdoor seating is beautiful and warm enough to eat even down to 30/40 degrees. TDLR: pricey, high end insanely flavorful Italian food. portions are small-medium. $220 spent for 2. Favorites: Squash appetizer, bluefin tuna, lobster Mac/linguine, Wagyu entree.
Will never go to this Establishment again. RUINED my sons wedding ceremony and brunch will 25 guests which including children. The room we had rented with guests arrival time noon and room to be ready by 11:30……1. was not cleaned.2. Table Was not set up3. Bar was not set up4. The banquet manager was not present5. Staff had no leadership6. Staff member handed a 5 year old champagne7. Childrens meals were not served8. Mass chaos while Guests were arriving as nothing set up including the bar.9. Food was served cold10.Room was never cleaned and counter that the groom and best mans jacket was laid on, had white dust on it which got all over their jackets.A staff member laughed and said it was where they make dough. CAKE WAS NEVER CUT and SERVED As the staff was suppose to do this service.1. Bill was paid for and approved by manager on phone per staff member. $3,100. Manager was never there as the groom was told by staff members severalTimes that he was arriving before 11:30.
We loved this place despite the high prices. The food was absolutely delicious (mushroom caponata, sea scallops with romesco, tagliatelle bolognese and filet mignon), the staff is friendly and perfectly attentive, the wine list is extensive and the atmosphere is serene and cozy. We will definitely return!
We got their thanksgiving package to go and like the variety there. My favorite item is the fish. It was cooked beautifully. It turned out great after I reheated it on thxgiving day, just like fresh from kitchen. Also really enjoyed their squash sides and stuffing though the stuffing portion was rather small.Would love to come back after COVID for a dine in experience!
Reasonably priced, tasty food in a very cozy setting. Has a lot of Greek influence on the spices and the preparation, but it feels more like “fusion” rather than a twist on Greek cuisine. Really liked the pork and the spicy cheese “tyrokafteri” spread. Drinks are a little pricey (but not so much so that I would take a star away)
Nice ambiance. Food is so so. Fluke crudo was great; delicate fish and zesty kumquat go well together. Tagliatelle Bolognese is made with house paste. It was well-made classic but didnt blow our mind. Now, grass fed beef was really bad. Cut was horrible with third of it being fat and connecting tissue. We asked for medium and it arrived medium well. Meat had wierd aftertaste. I asked the waiter about the cut and aftertaste. His reply was that this meat comes with organic Happy Valley farm and it is great meat. I raised my concerns and I was told to enjoy it. We paid 50 for really bad piece of meat. Anyway, there are other options around the area in this price range which are much better.
Just not a good meal. The mezze platter starter was mostly pretty good, though very salty and at mid-town Manhattan prices. But the frascatelli entre was inedible. The salt level was ludicrous and the seafood within seemed off. I only ate three bites; arguably as unpleasant as anything Ive eaten. To the restaurants credit, they did not charge us for the entre. Maybe an off night, but I cant imagine ever going back.
Experience wasnt good here. Waited a long time for food to arrive, even though other diners who were sat after us, received their food before us. It is overpriced for rather mediocre food. Pretty shocked that the Spanish Tortilla I ordered ($18) was the smallest wedge Id ever seen, served cold with not even a small garnish, but a dollop of Romesco. I asked to speak to the manager, yet shockingly the manager wouldnt come outside. I wasnt angry at this point or wanting to be confrontational, purely wanted to point out what a rip off this was. Instead, we received another slice of the Tortilla and more wine on the house ( nice touch I admit), but the point remains, its overpriced. I felt I was being treated as if I were a tourist ( yes Im from England but live here in the city.) My spice grilled chicken salad ($27) was literally a couple of pieces of seasoned chicken, and gem lettuce leaves ( zero dressing - I had to ask for dressing) and a few halved small tomatoes. For that price, I had definitely expected more love and a higher quality dish. It was bland to say the least. I wont be going back sadly to this establishment. The most positive aspect was our server who was polite and very apologetic, nice guy. But I could tell he absolutely agreed with my complaints and looked embarrassed for me and my girlfriend.
We discovered Amali on NYE 2020, through a Pulsd promotion and were pleasantly surprised! This quaint, best kept secret in Midtown East surpassed all of our expectations with its authentic Mediterranean Italian/Greek fusion menu and its extensive wine list including some of our favorite Greek wines! The NYE pre-fixe was incredible ad included a mezze plate, appetizers, entrees, desert and open bar all night. The service was excellent and the crowd was delightfully civilized (which is hard to find on NYE in NYC!). We noticed on the menu that they have some interesting Apertivo happy hour specials that we will definitely be back to check out! Highly recommend this spot!
The food was really quite good, but didnt seem particularly Mediterranean--it was generically European. The waitress was not very knowledgeable or particularly fast/competent with service. Overall, the food seems to make up for the mediocre experience, and Id recommend giving this place a try to see if you get a decent waiter or waitress.
We hosted our wedding reception at Amali, and I dont think we have any words that could make justice to how amazing our experience was. Michael and everyone in the staff made sure that every single detail was taken care of, from the decorations to the seating placements. They helped us with a especial menu for our big day, and the food was out of this world; they even catered the most delicious vegan selection for me and one of my guests. Also, chef Olivia made a one of a kind vegan cake for us, and our guests could not stop gushing over it.We are forever grateful for everything they did for us, and we cannot recommend this restaurant enough. If youre thinking about hosting an event, or just stopping by to have lunch or dinner, dont hesitate and head towards Amali!
Great service and cocktails, also got a great wine recommendation. A little pricey for the portions (although the portions were good for not overeating 🤣, and maybe being from Boston I’m just not used to Manhattan prices!), but the octopus and pasta were especially good! Would return! Would give it a 4.5 if I could.
We went to Amali for my son’s birthday last Monday night with a large group of his friends and had a fabulous meal. The exotic food and the entire experience was new to many of his friends, but the staff made the young people feel so welcome and the novel, imaginative and delicious preparation of the food wowed us all. Such a great night ❤️
Ive been to Amali a couple of times over the years and always had great food and service. Unfortunately our dinner last night was the complete opposite of that. I made a reservation for 6 of us for my brothers birthday (on a Sunday), and when we arrived there were only 2 people dining indoors and just us outside in the covered enclosure. We were excited about the menu, but when we went to order, we were notified (not as soon as we sat down, mind you), that they were out of about 4 of the entree items. This was surprising since the restaurant was empty. We wound up ordering and the drinks took about 20 minutes to arrive, at which point they notified my brother that his beer also was unavailable. 35 minutes go by and then the appetizers came. Then another 35 minutes before the entrees arrived. I ordered the sea scallops and a total of 5 small scallops were on the plate. They were tasty, but the smallest portion! We finished out with dessert and coffee and the waiter did nicely bring out shots of Mezcal for each of us (maybe he realized the service was bad?) but then we had to ask 3 times for the check to arrive - again crazy since by that point there werent any other diners in the restaurant other than us. The bill was SO expensive considering how small the portion sizes were. I actually left the restaurant hungry and incredibly disappointed.
We had the most wonderful experience last Saturday at Amali for dinner. First time customers, and we will definitely return ! We had reserved for outdoor seating but were able to change for indoor because of the heat and humidity that day. The food was amazing - our 9 year old son said the Chef must be an angel ! He actually got a quick tour of the kitchen, where true magic was coming from. Excellent appetizers (salmon tartar, burrata and a delicious mushroom dish), incredibly well done red snapper and desserts, cocktails and wine were a also a success.Very elegant and classy, keeping things simple but beautiful. From food to service, Amali deserves more than 5 stars ! Thank you chef @Alex Tubero !
We had a great time here last week celebrating a birthday. The branzino was some of the best I have ever had and the scallops nearly blew us out the front door from the back dining room. They recommended a delicious wine which met our taste. The only disappointment was the octopus - it was rubbery and did not reach the high level set by the rest of our meal. Hopefully well be back again before the year is out for another special occasion!
I had a dinner reception here in the Sopra room following my wedding ceremony and everything was excellent! The room was lovely and all of the food was delicious!!! The bolognese pasta and chittara pasta were both great and the spice-grilled chicken was to die for!!! Can’t wait to return!
Amali offers silent menu options for dietary restrictions, we had emailed in advance to find out the options but didnt hear back so took a chance; for vegans its just one option, the filet mignon meal without the meat- it was good. The wait staff was wonderful though our actual waitress wasnt very attentive. From the time we finished our meals it took over 20 minutes to get our check then another 10 mins waiting for them to come around for us to get the bill fixed, another staff member came over to assist instead. If you order the vegan option, make sure the meal isnt rung up as $54 still!!
This place is amazing! The price justifies the quality of the service and the amazing food we had from the beginning until the deserts. The chef comes to your table to explain the meals and the way they organize everything there is a completely 5 stars restaurant for me.
Will never ever come here again. I came here for a wedding reception and ordered Tagliatelle with bone marrow and bolognese which was $34. That wasnt the problem. The problem was that it took almost an hour to receive my food. There was a group of 20 of us and we all received our food at different times. My pasta was mediocre and such a small portion. Pasta was overcooked, the bolognese was not a bolognese but just ground up meat. Bolognese is usually a meat sauce. There was far too much oil and as if no bone marrow was used at all. The pasta was lukewarm by the time I got it and the grated Parmesan already soaked up the oil which proves that it was just sitting at the counter. One of my friends got a salmon tartare which also took 50 mins to arrive and she never received her salad. I had ordered a jack Daniels and coke. I got the drink and it was good but when it came to the bill my jack and coke was nowhere to be found. Instead there was an order for Johnnie Walker. We were confused since no one ordered that and it was the most expensive item in the bill. 3 drinks for $110??? I go up to the server who served us and tried to find out why theres Johnnie walker on the tab and he said it was mine. I never ordered that. he said that I was informed that they dont have jack daniels. no I was not. the server had the audacity to laugh and argue with me over what was said. needless to say the service was atrocious, the food subpar. The bride was extremely upset about this ordeal and most of the guests at the reception who didnt order a gyro or Mediterranean food were fairly upset over the food quality and service as well. Now I normally dont do reviews but this was just unacceptable.
Bolognese is Danna’s thing. And few things finer than Danna’s homemade version. This is literally the first bolognese Danna has had in 5 years that comes even close. So for that they get 5 stars. Server was super nice and water glasses flowed with water with finest NYC tap has to offer. Danna had BOTH wines Lambrusco was not lame. And Greek red stag was sublime. Oh yeah .... apparently the first mention this place has had in NY Times was their side of broccoli and damn! It was worth the mention. Order your broccoli and be healthy. A Danna must have.
Had dinner here last night and we went with the 6 course tasting menu. FANTASTIC. Everything was flavorful and fresh. Great outdoor dining setup!Did not need to wear a jacket while we were seated. Excellent service from the staff as well. Would give it 6 stars if I could.
My wife and I came for a Friday night date night dinner and it did not disappoint. The cocktails were delicious and each dish was equally delicious. We were tempted to start the whole meal over again. The chef, Alex, and server, Marcos, were exceptionally friendly and professional. We we will certainly be back. Thank you for a great dinner date night out!
Amali exceeded all expectations, truly exceptional service and food! I recommend trying as many dishes as you can, each one has such a unique flavor profile and amazing taste. The service and dining atmosphere perfectly suited the amazing food, friendly staff who made dining-in feel safe.
We went there for a company luncheon earlier this month to celebrate one of our members contribution before her next opportunity, and the service at Amali was terrific. No one from our team ever heard of Amali, but they were impressed with the farm-to-table and also the atmosphere. The restaurant was also super accommodating, had excellent food that was well seasoned, and the serving sizes were also considerable. We had about 16 people and ended up with some desserts as well. Well be sure to visit again. :) Thanks so much for the wonderful time, Amali!
Service was mediocre - the waiters were very attentive when it came to refilling our wine glasses, but extremely slow in getting our order in the first place - we waited 10 minutes to have our order taken, another 20 for a simple drink. the food was nothing special considering the prices. the tiger shrimp was mushy, flavorless, and briny and had crunchy sand bits! the other dishes were better- japanese eggplwnt was good- but nothing amazing. would not go again.
I liked the food a lot at Amali. But I would qualify the restaurant as good neighborhood Italian restaurant... with 1 Star Michelin prices. I ordered a regular quinoa salad. Portion was very small... price $19. Added a (very small) piece of salmon and the bill came with an additional $22 for the salmon alone. Are you kidding me?!?!? I complained and the waitress didn’t even come and explain. Unacceptable.
Delicious food, great service, helpful without hovering, very good with recommendations. Roasted beets, feta for apps and scallops and the lamb burger for dinner. Almond cake was very tasty, it was the size of a single kit kat but tasty. Will go back. Dinner with drinks for 2 +$200
What nice people staff this restaurant and what terrific flavors. Dale had shrimp that had wonderful spices on them and I had octopus as an appetizer. Dale brought her own gluten free pasta and the chef used it to make a wonderful dish for her. I had chicken that had been cooked under a brick that was terrific. The restaurant is cozy and busy with a demographic tilted towards women around 40........though there are plenty of others. The thing is that its noisy.........in a nice kind of way.It was our first time here even though theyve been at this for 5 years and we live right across the street. Obviously, well be back.
So good! Delicious menu, amazing staff. The sommelier is also very talented. She crafted a selection of options that not only complimented my meal but my palate. If youre the Mediterranean diet, this is definitely a place for you.PS. Eat the pickles on the cheese plate! 👌
Been here many times before but really disappointing lately. Came with a large group tonight and we were forced to have the prix fixe menu which was extremely challenging with a group of 12. 12 of us were seated at a table that should’ve been for 8, and the manager, Frankie, was very rude. Literally told us to go find another restaurant to eat at. Unacceptable! Stayed in spite of her rudeness because where else are we going to go on a Saturday night last minute at 8 pm with 12 people? Food was OK. Some highlights, some not. Not enough food though for family style. Actually left hungry. Had been planning to hold my husband 60th birthday party there but no longer! Actually embarrassed because this was our recommendation and our friends were really upset by the end of the night.
Amalli has wonderful Mediterranean food. I attended a meeting here and the service was fine. The waiters brought the food and drinks during the talk. The meal was served family style and every 3 people got a dish of sides: Potatoes, couscous and broccoli sauteed with pistachio nuts. Everything was superb. Next a large dish of grain fed steak, it was so moist and soft. Great cut of meat-no fat at all. There was also chicken parts: legs and thighs placed on the table. The meat was so fresh and moist. I do recommend this restaurant for GOOD FOOD!! there are sister restaurants as well.
Food is good but portions are very very small! It seems that there is a recently policy where they force groups of 6 or more to order family style, meaning ordering a lot of 1 item without offering a special menu for family style. Do they really expect 3 people to be sharing 2 ounce of pasta? The waitress was rather rude; she wasnt really helpful and didnt really guide us as to how many orders of each dish we needed to order. This is definitely not good for group or business lunches
Amali is a lovely little Mediterranean place that I was delighted to discover one day on my way to Bloomingdales. In the two times that Ive been its been pleasantly busy but never crowded or loud. Our server Jen was a delight, very professional, poised and knowledgeable. She recommended some wonderful items and really helped make our lunch what it was. She clearly enjoys her work and takes pride in the restaurant. The menu is diverse, very complete and well rounded. My burger was perfect and perfectly tailored to my allergies and preferences and my friend loved his tagliatelle bolognese (the chefs grandmothers recipe according to our lovely server). The wine list is also very well curated and our Sancerre and Grillo were exactly what we wanted. You can tell when a restaurant really cares about the integrity of its ingredients and this place is mostly local, entirely well researched and beautifully presented. Its refreshing!Cant wait to go back.
Although the food on the menu was very good and reasonable, the special of the night was overcooked pasta and twice the cost of any other item on the menu. (which we were not informed of) the old fashions were 22.00 a pce. its an old fashion with well bourbon...........not going back.
This was a great find for later in the evening after cocktails earlier. The food compared well to what we are used to as a farm to table restaurant in California. The prices were great. the service was great. the ambience was great. Unfortunately we came out to a rainy October evening in New York but you cant have everything !

This past Sunday we hosted a baby shower luncheon at Amali. Outstanding in all respects. Setting (Sopra room for meal and opening of presents, Fireplace room for welcome/cocktails) was warm and perfect size. The long narrow table setting was ideal for our 30 guests allowing lots of conversation to those across and beside. The service was ideal- so perfectly attentive you barely noticed. MOST importantly: The food was superb- to die for Caesar salad, French toast perfectly crisp on outside while creamy inside, and risotto carbonara ideal blend of pancetta, pecorino and poached egg. As one guest said to another who had never been to a baby shower, Dont expect an experience like this at most baby showers. Thank you, Amali. All of you contributed to a very memorable day.
Overrated and overpriced mediocre food. They make a big point out of dock to table, blockchain (!) tracked fish, but the fluke turned out to be just dry. The NY strip wasnt very tender with a lot of fat. Appetizers and sides were uninspiring and bland. Avoid! Service okay.
Ive eaten at Amali now at least five times. The menu changes almost every other week which makes it interesting and so much more than a neighborhood restaurant. It is a hidden gem tucked away in East Midtown that is not only worth checking out, but also visiting frequently to see what seasonal ingredients inspire Chef Borges. Must try: Octopus, any lamb dish, chicken, and EVERY special.
Amali vs. FISHTAGI dined at these two restaurants four days apart, and found Amali better in every way. Granted, I was at Amali on a Tuesday night when the restaurant was not too busy vs. Friday night at FISHTAG--I will hazard that the service was off because of the volume... We also preferred Amali over Allonda in Union Square.Anyway, menu offerings were similar, but...THE OCTOPUS HERE IS OFF THE CHARTS! $18 spanish octopus (castelveltrano olives, yukon potatoes, wild oregano) was way better than FISHTAGs (sorry). It was also pre-cut into little forkable bite-sized pieces which made it look less scary Kraken. We LOVED the $17 warm hen of the woods salad (marcona almonds, shaved kohlrabi, tender greens). It was very light and summery but somehow worked for this cold winter night. The pasta, made in-house, is very impressive. Chewy and semolina-flavorful, a shareable portion (if you get a couple starters) or enough for a meal. We had orecchiette with merguez, broccoli rabe, and fresh chili. Pasta here was also way better thanFor dessert we had the ricotta doughnuts--which were like classy sugar munchkins on lemon curd. Now, any excuse to eat lemon curd is a good one. The order came with 5 doughnut holes so you can easily share it 5 ways to be less of a fatty. We actually had wanted to try the apple crostata with salted caramel gelato. Will just have to come back for it.Very extensive wine list of about 400 wines, detailed about vintages, several nice options available even in the $40 bottle range. Seriously one of the best selection/value wine lists Ive seen in midtown.Really great. A midtown jewel. Go here.
Amali is a quaint restaurant in Midtown East that features dishes with Greek and Italian origins. From the shared plates, try the Burrata di Campagna, which features a generous portion of silky, creamy burrata cheese lighted dressed in kritiko olive oil. The pastas were hit and miss, as some noodles were overcooked and the sauce was underseasoned. Make sure to make reservations in advance as the space can get crowded, but its a nice option for a nicer night out or a weekend brunch.
We had a reservation that Id made on Open Table but they couldnt find it.....eventually they did. We were a table for 5 and a man with the most absurd hairdoo went to make our table for 4 large enough for 5 and then took us there. There were a few guys at the table near us and they left their backpacks and skateboard on the floor so Dale tripped on the skateboard. Her back hurts today. Is this the school cafeteria?Food was ok. Noise was too much. This is owned by the same folks that own Periyali but there is no comparison. We live across the street and had been there 2 years ago. Weve not been back and do go to Periyali thats a 30 minute taxi ride.We will not be back.
I went there on a field trip with my culinary arts class. Its accessible by train (4, 5, 6 trains to 59th street and Lexington Ave). Its a perfect place for dining with friends, family and co-workers. There is even a section for special occasions. The address is 115 East 60th street, New York, NY 10002.
The food itself was very good, which gets this place a second star, but it is too expensive for what it is. The service was not bad, but also not on par with the price point. I expect more when paying $30+ per entree. Drink prices were downright outrageous and wine pours were not generous. Wont be going back.
Amali is an amazing Greek Mediterranean restaurant tucked just a few steps west from 60th and lex. With an understated minimalist exterior, walking into Amali is a pleasant surprise with their quaint main dining room and the skylight room in the back. The food is a perfect mix of avant garde cooking and classic Mediterranean flavors. To top it all off, this place boasts a sizable wine list featuring Greek wines you wont find elsewhere.
Had a private a event here and it was the worst experience. If I could give zero stars I would. The food was cold and not good. The service was poor, nobody was walking around refilling drinks or bread. Had to ask the management to come over and still nothing changed. DO NOT GO HERE horrible, horrible!

2022-02-12Its the last week of Winter Restaurant Week in NYC! This place has delicious Mediterranean food, but the price is pretty high. We love the appetizers. Both dishes come with this tasty fried flat bread. The hummus is smooth and tastes great. The mushroom is cut into small pieces and is well-seasoned. The scallop main dish is okay; the portion is kinda small for the price we pay. Duck sausage pasta portion is pretty big compared to the scallop dish. There is no dessert included in RW menu, which is kinda a bummer.Overall, food is amazing, I just dont think it is worth the price we paid. So if you dont have a budget, or want to do something fancy, highly recommend.

2022-01-16The food was absolutely special and delicious. The staff were friendly, professional and helpful. All the dishes we tried were delicious, but we especially enjoyed the quinoa crusted duck which was simply mind blowing. We will definitely come back to Amali, it was a perfect dinner.

2022-05-11This is a small cozy italian restaurant in the upper east side, with the dining room split into a front and back section so you feel even cozier. The food was good - standouts are whipped feta, the octopus, and the cavatelli with duck ragu. Pasta was cooked perfectly al dente and portions were huge, so I had enough for leftovers and they tasted great the next day too. The branzino dish was HUGE and enough for 4 people (assuming they ate apps and had sides). The vibe here is “family friendly”

2022-07-07Visited while in town for a company dinner. We where seated in back privet room, it was a nice space but not very inviting. It was lit by skylight on half of the room other half was pretty dark with candles.Service was amazing and very friendly, they did not allow an empty glass our entire meal. I was very impressed with the speed and Pace our food arrived, at times it’s hard for a kitchen to keep up with a large crowd. The food was all very delicious! We had so many items I didn’t get to picture them all! But my stand outs where Hummus, Salmon Tartare & Sea Scallops. The Salmon Tartare was so exceptional I actually requested a second an they so kindly obliged.Commode was very clean :)

2022-05-01Restaurant was extremely loud and busy. The atmosphere was vibrant but it was also too hard to have a conversation with my fellow diners. It made it hard for ordering also, and the wrong beverage was delivered. The service was really good but was rushed as there were so many diners and definitely not enough staff. The starter of the bread and feta was tasty. The waiters kept bringing extra bread which was kind of them. My main annoyance was that the main courses took over an hour to arrive. When they did, a couple were lukewarm rather than hot. There was also a hair in one of the dishes. Also, we mentioned to the staff that we were vegetarian and they did not forewarn us that the cauliflower side was roasted in fish sauce, which led to stomach upset. The broccoli side was nice, the spaghetti, and ancient grain salad.

2021-12-12Hands done one of my favorite restaurants. Amazing food. We shared the salt baked flambé fish. The mezzo platter was so yummy. Nice fresh variety and a bit more modern rendition of some classic dips. Very extensive wine menu. Great seasonal cocktails.

2021-12-06Amali is absolutely delicious. Will definitely go back to try more dishes! The olive oil cake was just ok though. The bread and butter were delicious and beautiful.

2022-01-11I was there a couple of nights ago with two friends! We had gem lettuce, the winter hummus and the octopus as appetizers, ravioli , Dover sole as entree! Everything was delicious, very good food and very professional service. Amazing wine selection and very fancy cocktails! Can’t wait to go back

2021-10-20The table turning speed is a little bit slow considering we were seated at least 15 min late for our 8 pm reservation, but they did offer complimentary drinks to us as courtesy. Also, I cant really blame them for not having table ready for the next round of guest, it is a really nice environment for dining, and I can see people having good conversations who dont want to leave.Food wise, the main reason I decided to leave a review, is amazing. My boyfriend and I enjoyed the meal from start to end, server are familiar and knowledgeable with the ingredients which is good. Also took a little longer to wait from mezze to main dish but still worth the time. They are all absolutely delicious. We tried spanish octopus, cavatelli, ravioli and broccoli ( huge fan of pine nuts)All are great especially the raviolis. Will return for food and service despited the waits.
