I LOVE shopping here, especially if I’m entertaining. They offer good prices and unusual items. Great for gift bags as well. I removed a stat for the lack of social distancing. The aisles are narrow and the customers tend to pile up. There are a couple of aisles for toys so many people bring their children as well. This can make shopping a bit tedious. During the pandemic I try to get in and out.
I have been going to this store for more then 20 yrs. I love the deals. I went with my daughter and u was walking ahead of her. I paid and was holding the register receipt she was holding 2 large laundry baskets. I went out and they stopped my daughter and accused her of stealing the baskets. she explained her mother was right ahead if her but I couldnt hear because the door already Closed behind me. she asked them to ask the cashier who just rang us out but they refused. she asked them to hold the baskets and came to get the receipt from me which she did. EVEN WITH the paid receipt showing I paid for the baskets they yelled at her she stole them. I bought alit so the receipt was long but if they went to the cashier surely she would have confirmed it. they were beyond rude and my daughter doesnt want to go back again.
This store has a lot of inexpensive toys and housewares. It is often crowded and checkout can take a while:its not a run in for one thing kind of place.Parking can be a little difficult to find right in front of the store. I often parked a few blocks away. The bus 1 block away connects you to the subway in Forest Hills.
First time going2 Amazing Savings and Im will definitely go back. Its like a 99cent store but a big UPGRADE. The place is clean and the isles are well stocked. They have a large selection of items. A variety of houseware, some hardware, at least2 isles of toys & crafts, decorative plates for parties/special occasions etc. The merchandise is stocked according to the season. Its a nice size store. The workers...so so. I just wish their English was much clearer, that way we could better understand each other.
Im here frequently; at least once a week most times, even if I dont end up buying anything. Theres a whole variety of things from toys to puzzles to holiday decorations, cookware, cleaning supplies...the list goes on and on. The prices are fantastic and new items are constantly coming in, so I tend to be pleasantly surprised by new things whenever I havent visited in a while.
I like coming here to get toys I need for work as a pediatric occupational therapist. Another therapist recommended this store to me. I can get a decent amount for around $30. Parking is limited, so I find a spot in the residential area and walk a short distance to/from store.
I used to stop in and out of Amazing Savings more often before the pandemic. On my last visit I was pleasantly surprised to see someone at the entrance limiting the number of people inside. There was a monitor walking about reminding folks to socially distance. When I was on line at the register the person behind me was too close. thankfully the line monitor asked her to step back a bit to leave more space. Its unfortunate that people still have to be reminded 8 months into this pandemic. But the staff is trying to keep things safe and that is much appreciated. Thank You!
They are very friendly store and have very fast moving staff. When it comes to the holidays, small household items etc, or school supplies, it is a great place to stop by. They are quick to clean and shovel during the snow. The only down part is that the aisles are very narrow.
Nice variety of items at good prices. Gloves, soaps, sanitizers, and disinfectant prices have all gone up due to demands related to the COVID19 pandemic. Staff could be friendlier but they dont create an unpleasant experience. The one cashier who did is no longer there. There is one worker who wears his mask on his chin every time I shop here. There is absolutely no social distancing practiced or social distancing floor markings, even by the registers. There is no manager to report these concerns to either, even when calling by phone.
I enjoy going here. I find many things for my son and my home, as well as fun knickknacks here and there. They also have a considerable selection of office supplies and a sizeable craft section, for both of which I come regularly. If you’re looking for something to spruce up your home, good books or toys for your child, beads, ribbon, embellishments, scrapbook or jewelry-making supplies, or other crafting needs, paper/plastic plates, cups, flatware, and other necessities for your next big event, and even certain Judaica, I highly recommend Amazing Savings.
This place is simply AMAZING! Good product, plentiful merchandise, quality for the dollar. Often crowded Monday through Friday, closed on Saturday. LIMITED PARKING ON STREET, MOST PARKING HAS A METER, and is expensive to park. (If you dont pay the parking meter, YOU WILL REGRET IT, BECAUSE 99.9 PERCENT OF THE TIME, YOU WILL GET AN ASTRONOMICAL PARKING TICKET.) Pay the parking meter or park a few blocks away and walk to the store. The walk is well worth it. There are also a few good Restraunts nearby where the locals eat. Theres a fruit stand, a bank and a bus stop near by. Great store, PARKING SUCKS.
The store has 11 aisles which seemed to be stocked with many many discounted everything you need for a special occasion party, such as bridal wedding, baby showers, anniversaries and possibly wedding. Such as plates, cups, plastic silverware, sternos, etc very well stocked. Additionally there are plenty of toys for the younger kids, plenty of kitchen utensils, photo boxes, gift bags, bathroom supplies, laundry room supplies. Alot of the items seem to be reasonably priced. Things the store doesnt carry, cards, nor electronics items, also they were limited on personal beauty supplies. And lastly, not the stores fault, be prepare to have a hard time finding parking space. Maybe go with a 2nd or third driver who can stay in the car.
Staff is always rude. Dont expect your question an answer if you need help. They also give you a hard time if you have a return. I bought a book light for my kids Xmas stocking. When they opened it, the light didnt work. I returned it a week later. She gave me a hard time even though I had a receipt and the item was under 3 dollars. Parking is also horrible. store is cramped and difficult to navigate with a cart. Stuff is dollar store quality.
I like this store.. me and my kids go to this store frequently.. they have a huge collection of toys for kids.. I love their stationery section as well .. they have very good books at a cheaper price compared to other stores.. they also have good collection of kitchen items that I love..Also if you want to buy stuff for parties or gift wrapping items, they have those as well and have a good collection of those..Overall I like this place.. it is my go to place for all my needs.. thanks.. we will visit again soon..
I remember I shopped here a couple years ago when this was a former restaurant. ( I think it was called Bagel something ) 🤔Back in the early 80s, my main street ( between 73ave and Jewel ave ) had a variety of stores for everyone. 🏃♂️💃🏃♀️🕺🚶♂️🚶♀️There were:-Two Variety hardware shops 🔨✂️🗑- a Chinese take - out 🇨🇳 🎎🏯- Baskin n Robbins ice cream at the corner🍦- a candy store where they have two 25 cents arcades 🕹- an automotive shop at the corner👨🔧🛠🚘- HnR Block 💸- an Indian candy store at the corner 👳♀️- a fruit stand at the corner 🍉🍇🍒🍎🍌- a video store 📼🎬- a discount store 🔎🔦🛒- another huge candy store where they have a couple of arcades at the corner between the Q44 and Q64 🤹♂️🕹🤹♀️Im not making this up 🤥 cause i grew up from them as a kid 🤓 when i get off at the original 🚃 bus stop across the street where the main street cinema stand. 🎭Today, it changed mostly for the ✡ Jewish community cause some of the stores says glatt kosher . I got nothing against them 🚫 since they been here longer but to me, it used to be a fun place to hang out since all the stores i mentioned are all gone 😢😭🤧 except :- the gas station*⛽- queens county savings bank tower*🏫- main street cinema* and 🎭- the AMI convenience store* 🏩They * been around for many years while some stores 🏚 stand for less than six months. Like i said, i got nothing against them but if they make a store for everyone instead of one religion, it would thrive again. (I saw one that is half Chinese and half Jewish restaurant and now a half Mexican and half Jewish restaurant coming soon. Theyre working on it)Amazing Savings is one of them. Its kinda like Variety but with no tools or other hardware accessories. 🚱🚯Kitchen equipments, paper or plastic plates, utensils, cups, school supplies, clothing accessories and TONS of toys. 🎈🤹♀️🎮🤹♂️ There are candies and electronics but every time i come here, theres always something new. 👍😉A lot of people shop here like a main street version of National Wholesale Liquidators..... except their store (NWL) is bigger🏢..... except toys, which is not much.👎👅But the prices is affordable. I bought a lot stuff there which, yes, it IS Amazing .😍 The only problem is that once you see that product for about a week or two, itll be *gone* 🤤 for something new. 🤣So start Saving your money once you go there.Youre in for a treat. 👋😁🤙

2022-05-29Lines can be long but go quickly most of the time. Great place to get the deals on b day gifts. You can usually find parking around the block but it can look hopeless sometimes.

2022-02-07Love this store! And so is my kids! Prices are great and I always find what I need in the best price! The reason I gave only 2 stars is because of the staff. The lady that acts like a big shot yelled at me and my kids for entering without a mask even though none of the other business requires a mask AND the SCOUS cancelled this ridiculous rule!! After I put my mask on and on my kids She then saw me and yelled towards me “ma’am ma’am put your mask on your nose” when 99% of the costumers either pull their mask down to their chin or under their nose but she insisted on bothering me and my kids!I really hope the owner can read this. It’s a real shame that the ppl who works there are so rude and condescending..

2022-05-10I love this franchise, but this particular location is small and there is barely any room to move around the aisles. Parking isnt too bad.

2018-06-18Good variety of products for a very affordable price. Service is Ok at the registers, on the floor it could definitely do much better. When having a party, this place is amazing for finding disposable items! Parking is not that easy.

2022-03-27Easy shopping, lots of supplies and products, but prices charged are not always as marked and I was unable to read the display to see what I was charged. It was very dim !

2021-08-24Great place if you want to buy home goods , disposable tableware , and toys for kids at reasonable prices . I’ve been shopping here for rewards for my students for the past 6+ years and couldn’t be happier. Their paper goods have graced many a party of mine . Always a great place to browse on a rainy Sunday for fun finds . The only downside is that their lines can get long and it can be a bit crowded during peak hours .
