$10.00 all you can eat for lunch. Cant beat that! Modest choice of indian food, but all delicious. Waiters, service is still in process of gaining experience and skills, but very kind and friendly. Owner lady greats guests with smile and kind attention. Place is clean and cozy.
Very disappointed with Ambadis. I have ordered from this restaurant many times even though the food is not great (but Ive been faithful). But i went in for lunch recently and they charged me $29 for two lunch specials, one tikka chicken marsela and a chana saag. i had asked for regular portions instead of the lunch combo, but they gave me only small portions with bread. I shouldve been charged a lunch rate of maybe $10-12, but instead they charged me a full rate for a half-portion. I was told they would take care of me, but instead of making up for the small portions, they said if I ordered again theyd make up for it. Im not going to eat at this restaurant again. They should be honest and take care of their customers better.
Don’t waste your money. This was worst Indian food I ever had. In Bindi do paiza they use frozen okra when they have mentioned fresh okra on the menu SUCH A SCAM and chicken tikka bhuna had watery gravy. Traders joes frozen nan is better then theirs and Punjabi Keer is made out of plain rice and leftover rasmalai juice (if you eat Indian dessert you know what I mean) When I called the manager to return the food he said he will not take returns and super rude. I wasted over $50 for trash.
Restaurant experience more than just how tasty the food is. It is all about the positive memories you make and carry with you. The folks here are super friendly. The place is cozy. The food is tasty as well. Highly recommend checking out this hidden jewel in White plains.
We had a party of 20 people. Quality of Non-Veg dishes reminded me Chandini Chowk mouth-melting Mughlai cuisine and Karim of Jama Masjid. Mutton Rogan Zosh, Butter Chicken and Kashmir Kababs, I love it. The best part their Garlic Nans were very soft. Vegetarian items were amazing from startup Gobhi Mashurians to dine. You need to tell them in advance, so when you reach everything must be ready as they make everything fresh. In any restaurant, you need to give Chef sometime to give you his best items. It is worth spending money. I will highly recommend everyone must give a try, please tell them before you order, how spicy you need it. Very respectful and humble.
We ordered delivery and were pretty disappointed. We ordered lamb samosas and only got 1 lamb samosa and 2 vegetable (mind you it’s a bit of a price difference for the lamb) and our entrees were not super flavorful. It also seems a little steep to charge almost $20 for chicken curry and only have 5 pieces of chicken in the dish. The lunch buffet seems to be a good value but for takeout it was a ripoff.
One of my favorite Indian restaurants! We’ve tried most of the restaurants in the westchester area and Ambadi Restaurent is the one we keep coming back to. I love their lunch buffet because you can try a little bit of everything and its delicious! Its perfect for someone who is trying Indian food for the first time. We were also pleasantly surprised with their dinner service - a menu full of intriguing entrees, the food we ordered was excellent food and my friends says its pretty much spot on for authenticity. The service has always been very attentive whenever weve been there. As for value, entrees are about $10 but in my opinion well worth it, weve always left full and very satisfied. Ive been craving their lunch buffet for awhile now so we plan on stopping in over the weekend! We went to the lunch...
We like to eat out when we can. One of the greatest pleasures is discovering little family run ethnic restaurants. The kind of place where the food is vibrant and fresh with real homemade recipes with rich sauces that are as delicious as they are fragrant and the staff seem to go out of their way to accommodate.Ambadi Kebob & Grill is one of those unicorn places for a great warm meal and reception. Its a little place in the center of White Plains just off the Post Road / Mamaroneck ave intersection next to the Arthur Murray Dance studio and its fun to look in their window at people more graceful than yourselves.. Narrow n cozy with checkered red tablecloths we discovered it because we got a discount coupon in the mail one day and decided to give it a go. We love Indian food but avoid the really hot stuff. Ambadi is the greatest introduction because they have an incredibly reasonable buffet lunch every day and you can just take your plate up and sample things like Tandori Chicken, Curry Lamb, and Sag which is a rich Spinach dish. (Really, I its like only $10 per person and a great deal)The buffet dishes are very good and usually moderately spiced and non threatening to a mild palette, but order off the menu at night and the the magic really begins. Their dishes are often fantastic with the best Vindallo (Meat and rice) Ive ever had. Savory, full flavored and complex.we usually order two dishes we know and a third that we have not had before. With sodas it usually comes to just under $60 for a couple with leftovers to bring home. Its rapidly become our favorite place.
Delicious, not overly spicy, portions are good, reasonable prices, a $10 lunch buffet everyday, AND THE FOLKS THERE ARE NICE! Been back four times this week alone for the Tandoori Chicken and Chicken Tikka Masala... but I recommend you try a little of everything at the buffet.
Order took nearly two hours to arrive. When I called after an hour and a half, the person who answered the phone said “they’re on the way” and hung up on me. Subsequent calls went to their answering machine. After two hours, they finally answered the phone. I told them to cancel my order and refund my money, and she said “it’s already on the way, I’ll tell the owner”. That’s the last I heard from them.
Lunch specials are generally a good value but they run out quickly and do not offer a similar item for the same reasonable price. I was also disappointed to learn that they use almond as part of the base for many of their sauces. They reassured me that they had a few dishes that were not made with the sauce but could not guarantee no cross-contamination. They were not accommodating when we brought in a #food allergy safe dish so that we could dine in as a family.Unfortunately, I would not recommend this restaurant..
I used to enjoy Bengal Tiger (now closed). But getting takeout from Ambadi is just as good without the ambiance. They are super nice on the phone, delivery is fast and the food is always hot.I have been ordering from them for several years and been happy with the food every time. My first choice for takeout/delivery.
The Food is FANTASTIC! Its a quick and easy restaurant. Parking is behind the building or you can park across the street. Chicken Tikka Masala, Saag Paneer, Onion Pakora, Samosas, GARLIC NAAN bread, and the basmati rice are my favorite options! This restaurant is the epinemy of great indian food. The spice levels are perfect. The COOKS are amazing!!!
I had dinner here based on good Google reviews. I was extremely disappointed.I ordered mixed appetizer, and vindaloo. Appetizers were overcooked and papadum was soft. vindaloo had to a bright orange color which Ive never seen in a vindaloo anywhere else before.I elected to eat in, sat at a table which seemed the cleanest of the 5 or so that they had. No offer was made to clean the dirty table before my food was brought. Asked for a glass of water and that didnt appear.I will not return here again.
Its a hole on a wall kinda place, no frills... we usually get take out from here when we are too lazy to cook but still want edible indian food, the kind that doesnt get you sick( finding a great authentic indian restuarant is a very rare thing in Westchester) This place is alright, not great but good enough. Their naans are good, service is alright too.

2022-02-27A lovely family run Indian restaurant in the heart of White Plains. I visited with my bf and was happy to find that they have an extensive menu with plenty of vegetarian options, which was great 😊 The restaurant itself is spotlessly clean with a homely atmosphere and the staff couldn’t have been more welcoming. I would highly recommend visiting if you are in town! ❤️

2021-09-25I ordered from here recently for delivery. I got the mixed tandoori grill, which includes pieces of chicken tikka, malai kebab, seekh kebab, chicken tandoori, and tandoori shrimp, all of which were pretty tasty. I also got a tomato soup and some salad on the side which were alright. The prices are good for the amount of food you get. I will definitely be ordering from here again, especially it’s one of the few halal restaurants in the area.

2022-07-08Nice little place with friendly staff and atmosphere. Was only in town for a week and wanted to get a halal meal. Great portion sizes and tasty food. Only downside was that I like spicy food and it just lacked that a little. Saying that, if I were local to them again, Id definitely order food and just ask for it to be a bit spicy.

2019-02-15Had an amazing time at lunch today with a co-worker. And it turned out to be a $10 buffet. Cant beat that price. And the food was genuinely super delicious. So much variety. Everything looked and smelled amazing. Taste was great. Especially loved the spinach. And the mushroom curry. Also loved lamb. Chicken and basmati rice was amazing. The bread was fresh and delicious. Not so spicy so its a good choice for everyone. For those who like spicy, you have mango pickles to add a bit of kick to your food. The place is sparkling clean. Owners Amal and his wife and all the staff are so friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend the place.

2022-04-19I came in on a Friday and ordered the meat platter with goat biriyani. The platter, as advertised, is supposed to contain biriyani, a side, a samosa, and a dessert. I was served plain basmati rice with a small side of goat curry, a small side of daal (?), a small samosa, half a naan, and no dessert. This came out to be $18. Missing item aside, the food also lacked seasoning. All in all, the quality of the food is not worth the price even though this is the only Indian restaurant in that part of White Plains.

2022-06-09Quite possibly the sorriest excuse for Indian food. Food was awful. Even the naan was tasteless. I mean, how do you mess up naan? Do yourself a favor, stay away from this place. Plenty of better food options, even if you have to drive a few miles to get McDonalds.

2021-06-13Got their brochure in the mail and decided to check out the all you can eat buffet lunch for $9.95. was not disappointed at all after 3 rounds. Def go for the Tandoori chicken and chili chicken.Went I for entrees this weekend 6/11 was hugely disappointed. Lamb Rohan josh is trash. Not spicy and mostly water I got 2 orders never again. Naan is good and samosas as good. Entrees are not worth it…not being cooked by an Indian…

2021-09-18Ordered food at 8:00 pm arrived at 8:30. One entree was missing, so we called back. Advised food would be delivered in 10-15 minutes. Didn’t arrive for another 45 minutes and there was a large curly hair in the food. We’ve ordered here atleast a dozen times before and this will be the last.
