$19 for 1 popcorn and 1 soda. The popcorn was burnt and AFTER you buy the soda, the machines only have 4 sugar free soda options with a sign of sorry for poor selection. As in those are the only 4 soda options at this theater. So we paid $19 for a cup of water and burnt popcorn. We will make the drive to a surrounding theater instead of getting scammed and ripped off.
If I could give a lower rating I would!Management forces employees to enforce a mask mandate that is not being enforced in our county. The environment was depressing. I have never seen more miserable employees. We were made to buy masks and once we did we realized no one in the theatre was wearing them. That was my last time going there. So sad to see the movie theatre die but why go somewhere so depressing when you can watch the same movie at home with better snacks?I hope all those employees have a back up because AMC doesn’t care about their mental health PERIOD.
Staff is very friendly. Not a huge thing, but I had just gotten done with a movie, and I was staying after with my friends to see if there was anything at the end. One of the staff members came into clean and told us You are welcome to stay until the end of the credits, but there is nothing else after. A small gesture, but saved us all about 10 minutes. Its just nice to have the staff go out of their way for customers, that is why I rated 5*.
AMC Stubs members get points with any purchase. If you purchase the popcorn bucket, you can get it filled for $4.50(Stubs members can get a free refill on date you have it filled). Comfortable seating. Several theaters (8 or 9 I think) so you have a good varity of choices. (Popcorn is delicious and they have a self serve butter station)
I haven’t been here since it was the cinema. I went here recently to watch jumanji 2 with my family. We go in and the ticket booth was closed and you had to buy your tickets at concessions. Which would be fine but the line was insane and they were understaffed. We stood in line for a 1/2 hour until we finally got to the gentleman taking orders. We ended up driving 45+ minutes to end up getting tickets to a later show because it was way passed the original time we were shooting for. We went and ate and killed time. When we came back we had to stand in line again because you can’t go to a movie without popcorn. Another long wait but we got our popcorn and went in. They redeemed themselves a bit by the new reclining heated seats. I thought that was a nice touch. The movie was great. The experience was good other than the beginning. Hopefully they get their ticket booth figured out along with getting orders filled quicker. That’s my only complaint. The rest was wonderful.
This theater is great! You get to choose where you sit at time of ticket purchase and they offer many food items and drink options! The seats are roomy, comfortable and give you the choice to recline Or not and use heat if you desire!! I ordered the kids pack w/a small bag of popcorn and choice of gummi with a small drink for my 11 year old and nachos n cheese for me. Delicious. I loved our experience!!
Chairs were great thats why I gave it 2 stars ,but the prices are crazy for snacks especially popcorn that was in tiny pieces and sadly grown adults need a babysitter for the late viewing , Several people talking whole movie , people complained but nothing done .... Last time Ill visit this theatre
A very comfortable and accommodating theater, wonderful with the $5 Tuesday tickets for signing up as a free AMC Stubs member. Small gripes: the popcorn is relatively low quality; the theater could use more workers operating booths during high-traffic showtimes; and the theater should police itself better, with someone checking tickets and pointing people in the direction of their theater, as it seems someone could just walk into a movie without having purchased a ticket. An overall pleasant experience with room for improvement.
I have not been to a movie in 3 years. A lot has changed. The movie business is no longer about service. It has become, in an attempt to streamline your experience, a self service experience. It was not clearly explained to me that the seating in the theater has changed. So when asked to look at the monitor and pick my seat I found what I was looking at confusing and didnt understand the seating configuration. When I asked the attendant where is the middle isle he didnt pick up on the fact that I hadnt been to the movies since the upgrades had taken place. By now there was a long line behind me and I was becoming upset and embarrassed. I asked if the attendant would just give me a ticket and I would take whatever seat was available. He said no. You have to pick a seat on the monitor. At this point I just wanted to leave. So I guessed at a seat location. Ordered popcorn and drink. I was given my popcorn and a cup. You have to dispense your own drink and butter/salt your popcorn. As I entered the theater it all started to make sense. The aisles are on the outside and marked by large capital letters in the carpet. The new seats very comfy. They are adjustable recliners with heat if you want. The surround sound system was way too loud for me. The movie itself was wonderful. It cost me $7.99 for the matinee @1:00 P.M. Total cost with large popcorn and large drink = $19.75. Would I go again? Maybe with earplugs. I didnt find the experience worth the cost.
Saved some money and time by purchasing our tickets online less than an hour before the movie. The food and soda was fresh. Employees were super nice and helpful. Weve actually not been to a theater in over a decade. The seats were roomy, plush, and comfortable. Having them recline and heated were a very nice touch and quite posh too. This isnt something we do often but it was defintely worth going and I would recommend others who enjoy going to movies to go to AMC Allegany 8.
This theater suits the country style towns. Yes the seats were old, but they were also comfortable. Bathroom does have a high school feel to it, Rather than a cinema. I would say the admission prices were standard. But all the food, snacks and drinks were entirely overpriced. I would advise eating at home before your show! Other than that I enjoyed my movie.
Ive been going to this theater since it opened. Popcorn bucket deal is great, bathrooms are nice and big and clean. However like most others have stated the theaters need remodeled!! Seats are dated, some armrests with cup holders are missing, fabric on seats is just yucky!! I really hate to touch them to put them down. I know they get the business as its the only big theater around, so please clean this place up!!
I was here for Endgame, my first time in an AMC theater (my hometown theater is an old local one). The seats were pretty incredible; Im very tall and most seats have poor lumbar support, so after sitting for a long time my back often hurts. But these didnt do that even after a 3 hour film like Endgame. Partially thats due to the seat design and partially due to the fact that theyre optionally heated, which keeps my muscles relaxed. The theater was very spaciously laid out. The sound was great. I do wish the doors werent squeaky though; I walked out once and was afraid I was disturbing people by opening the door.
This review is written solely as a result of an experience I had today. When my wife and I arrived at the theatre (4:03 pm for a 4:20 pm movie) the concession stand was the only area open to purchase tickets. We stood in line for approximately 12 minutes when an attendant opened the ticket office. At that point we were close to the front of our line so we didnt try to move to the box office line. Without a formal system for redirecting patrons those who walked in much later than we did were able to purchases tickets ahead of us. Shortly before we reached the front of our line it was announced that our show was sold out. I strongly suggest that a formal procedure be established to ensure that tickets are sold on a first come first serve basis. I have no other complaints about our theatre. The staff is always friendly and helpful and the new seating is wonderful!!
Nice selection of movies. A little dated... No stadium seating or recliners. Typical overpriced concession food, altho they now offer a form of pizza. Glad they are affiliated with AMC so gift cards more readily available. They need to hook up with Fandango so information posted is correct!
The movie was good tge new seats are great. We had to wait for popcorn for 15 minutes because they ket people puck and pay for their seats at that register. I dont think that is a good odea people wanting only to get refreshments had to wait longer. You should put one more person on the ticket booth and then both lines would have gone faster. Your customers would have been much happier.
Overpriced and falling into disrepair. The seats are in terrible shape, the bathrooms in disrepair and have been for months with no obvious attention paid to them. The floors of the theaters are always sticky and filthy. We have started going to the Spotlight theater in Hornell and it is a great experience. The concessions are so much cheaper - a family special is a Huge family popcorn, 4 drinks and 2 candies for $23! At Carmike we had 1 popcorn and 6 drinks for $54!! And they failed to add it to my Rewards card so i lost out on the points (Ive tried to contact them for months without any luck through email and facebook).
They are in the process of remodeling and replacing the old flip up seats. The new seats are heated recliners. Hopefully they will hold up with repeated use. The one down side appears to be less seating in the theater, so expect the popular movies to be a little more crowded. The concessions are typical movie theater fare, nothing too fancy.
Everything is very dated. Theaters smell awful and the seats and floors are pretty gross. Prices are way too high for the area especially not being a new or clean place. I do appreciate them trying a little bit of updating w the new self serve soda and popcorn toppings but its a zoo before movie times and such a mess with everything covering the entire lobby floor. I stood in a line out the door foreverrrr while ppl were going through all the options and not knowing how to get the soda out and just kept dispensing ice with no one helping them. I look over at concessions and there is not one customer but 3 employees standing around. If youre not going to help with the long a** line at least clean the buckets of popcorn all over the floor or something! It might just be me bc I get the same thing every time I go so it only took me a min to get my soda but I feel like ppl should know what they want when theyre about to be ordering a drink... Most employees are nice when youre directly dealing with them but seem very lazy bc a lot of the mess and stink is from the theater not being cleaned very well or often enough! I gave two stars bc they do get the newer movies in quick and are pretty nice for the most part (which is kind of a low expection I feel most ppl have)...they need to update the theatre and hire ppl that want to be there or at least have some kind of customer service. Its fine if youre not a ppl person but if thats the case dont get a job where all you do is customer service lol
Although this review is mostly negative, Im not sure how much of the blame should be placed on the workers at the Olean AMC Classic. The place is consistently understaffed. The last three times weve gone to the theater, no one is at the ticket window. Instead, you need to get everything at the concession stand. This means long lines on both sides are there are generally just two people working at the concession booth. It took 30 minutes to see someone for tickets.Today my family was unable to see Peter Rabbit due to the theater being unprepared for the amount of people who would come during the week as students are off on winter break. The movie could have/should have been shown in two theaters as this is the only family movie available for young kids. The concession stand was also out of certain items. By the time we reached the front of the concession line, we decided to scrap going all together as there wouldnt be four seats together in the theater. The manager was polite and gave us a free refill of bucket popcorn due to all of the issues. Although its the only theater in this area, I doubt well be back anytime soon.
Great Tuesday Prices!.. prices per person. You cant beat 5 dollars a person all day. Most places are around 20 for one person alone.Ya the theaters style might be outdated, but hell for the price you pay you get a great experience nun the less.Myself and my mother in law love to come to Carmike whenever a movie comes out we want to see. The deals are great!
For the price of the movie and refreshments you would hope the venue would be updated, but it appears the building hasnt actually had any updates in over 10 years. The seating is uncomfortable, there is no stadium seating so if you have someone bigger in front of you good luck with seeing the movie.
Prices have gone up dramatically since they switched over to AMC they arent the cleanest or movie theaters the bathrooms need remodel their old and crappy. And for the snacks now you fill your own your own pop and you have to put your own butter on your popcorn and they only have one area to do that with two machines with like 30 flavors to choose from so the lines become very long for your pop especially during the popular movie times. They need to make another section on the other side of the snack counter where people can do the same thing if this is the way its going to be and have more soda fillers or even have a couple that dont let you add extra flavors to to make it faster the new snack prices are ridiculously expensive now too
Meh. I suppose this is a decent theater for out in the middle of nowhere, but its certainly nothing special for a more travelled movie-goer. The place is falling into disrepair, the floors were gross, and the seats werent comfortable. Surprisingly small screens for such large prices. I didnt risk the restrooms. The only positive really is the staff who have thus far been friendly.
Its fine. Yes the seats are old but the theatre irsebut the lf is old, so what do people expect? Prices arent terrible, no wjere near amc theatre seating places. Popcorn is good, but i dislike the new buying tickets at the consession stand bc it takes so long when i just want tickets.
Youd think for all the money that isnt put back into the place, the drinks and snacks wouldnt be incredibly over priced... They have the same lounge seating since they opened. This theater gets a lot of business, theres no excuses for the chairs and decor to be falling apart. Whoevers in charge is just being careless and neglectful.
Unfortunately this is our only movie theater in town and surrounding area. The reason I give this two stars is because I have had positive experiences, but last night diminishes the positive. In the middle of the movie I wanted to get popcorn to share with friends. I went to the stand where I was met by management, Im assuming because she was not wearing a uniform...also no name tag. She was very short with me, telling me that the concession stand was closed and she could only help me if I had exact change. I did...for popcorn. It was like I had to pull all this info out of her and I was a MASSIVE inconvenience. I find out I can buy dry popcorn, and use butter salt (on already salty dry popcorn) so I say, ok Ill take nachos. I dont have exact change. Instead of saying Hey, Im sorry we cant help you out, it was a very short, so I should cancel this? A really crappy situation could be made a lot better by a positive attitude even a small amount of customer service, but instead I was met with annoyance and attitude.
So... what happens when you go to watch a movie. The fire alarms go off because they have dirty air vents. Then we go back in and the alarms go back of and I record the alarms going off nit anything of the movie because it was not even playing. Some worker walks in and tells me to delete the video. Really.... Maybe if you updated and cleaned like you were suppose to this like wouldnt have happen. Over priced dirty movie movie theater. . Good luck to people going there!!
Was on a very strict diet due to leukemia and managment refused to work with me even though I offered to pay for concessions I wouldnt be able to eat as a compromise. Very dissapointed with management who then stood there while an employee berated me stating I was hiding behind my disease. All in all a tereible place
I would like an address to the company to officially complain about the popcorn. There was a time when this theater had THE BEST popcorn of any theater around. Now its highway robbery for popcorn that is not, fresh, crispy or crunchy. It sticks to the teeth like styrofoam.
My daughter and her friend went to watch a movie and see how it was a r rated movie a parent should be allowed to give permission not have to stay and you pay with card or money you should get it back not given a gift card for your theater dont want to come back now ever
Its not a bad theatre, but everything is WAY overpriced. If i am going to an AMC theatre, I expect the reclining red seats and wide chairs as opposed to whay they currently have. If there was a cheaper theatre in the area, I would recommend going there instead of here.
Only thing that is somewhat decent about this place is the pretzel bites and the soda/icee machine as far as movies the picture size and quailty is OK for the theater of the size but the sound quality is absolutely horrible..you would think that going to opening night of a movie or any night of movie you would get well you know the theater experience but instead you get what sounds like going over a friends house with some low priced computer speakers ..there is absolutely no low end to the sound system there I mean if something explodes in the movie you want to feel it like you were there you want to hear the sound coming from all directions the rows of seats are placed on a angle with the walk way going right down the center of the theater so you never have a direct view of the screen wich is just bad even worse for 3D movies no stadium seating so no matter what you will always have someones head in your way..the place needs a major overhaul as far as picture and sound gos ..for the price they charge per ticket they should be able to afford it..better off spending the extra time and money and going to imax for an actual theater experience
Drove from Bradford on Christmas Eve on bad roads to watch Star wars with my brother and his son. Got there late (8:18) for an 8:00 movie that had not started yet and they would not let us in. Doors were locked and they stood there and looked at us. I will never give this place another penny!!!!
Usually we get to the movies 20 minutes early and the one time we were 5 minutes late from the show time. We got told they were closed . Notice we looked at the time of the movies online before we left. And we get to the movies and they wont let us in because the time on there besite was wrong ... according to the guywe spoke with. ...
Went to see a movie with my wife an kid had two bags of clothes with me was told not aloud to enter the movies with the bags was told i could leave them up front but that they would not watch them i had just paid 100 dollers for said items so called cab an left was very not happy ty amc for being rude an inconsiderate

2022-07-08Friendly staff in a state-of-the-art movie theater where the popcorn is always hot and fresh! The recliner chairs are heated and super comfy and each theater is just the right size! New movies come out every Thursday and be sure not to miss bargain Tuesdays! There’s nothing better than seeing a newly released movie on a big silver screen!

2022-01-03The good: staff members are friendly and helpful. Love the reclining seats and tons of leg room. The bad: probably understaffed and not able to process patrons quickly. Not sure why I needed to wait in concession line to check in. There must be a better way to do that. Restroom was pretty nasty, but probably also a result of understaffing.Bottom line: a nice theater, but probably stretching workers too thin. Check in process is flawed and signage does not adequately explain what line to wait in.5 stars for the staff, 1 star for management

2022-02-22AMC should invest some capital into this location. The concession area needs an upgrade as well as the restrooms. Theater area is spacious and seats are comfortable. Expensive for the condition, non the less acceptable.

2019-05-30One of the best theaters Ive been to. Definitely the most comfortable now that theyve put in powered, heated recliners. Huge selection of drink flavors that you fill yourself and self serve butter machines for the popcorn they make right at the concession stand.

2022-04-19Clean and well maintained. An older building but the theaters all have the comfy reclining (and heated) seats. Staff were friendly.

2022-04-23Continuing to enjoy the updated facility. Love that we dont have to travel too far for the reclining heated seats
