American Express Centurion Lounge in other cities:
Solid lounge. It gets a 4 due to an inconvenient location to the gates as it is right past security. The food was OK, the drinks were great. The lounge was empty downstairs which was amazing. The speakeasy is the best part of the experience, and that too was empty with many people being upstairs. Service was phenomenal, and the creativity was out of this world.
Incredible lounge, amazing, friendly staff, awesome amenities and services. Ive been to this lounge a handful of times and every time I enter I am greeted with the warmest welcome by the staff. Always friendly and always looking to make this a great experience, I feel so lucky to have access to this lounge. Shout out to Eric Brockington and Max at the Equinox Body Lounge. They guided me through the meditation room and the compression equipment and took great care of me. The speakeasy downstairs is a perfect touch, especially the entrance which is subtle and unassuming in true speakeasy style. I cant wait for my next stop there! Its the perfect send off to any flight!
One of the better lounges at JFK. The lounge is on the larger side, but the plethora of intimate spaces gives it a cozy feel. The dinner buffet was limited, but delicious and the speakeasy downstairs had excellent drinks and service. A must visit to ease the shock of the annual fee.
Amex Platinum card is useless here. Lounge is always full. Last time I didn’t get in at all, this time I was on a 30min long waitlist, giving me 5min lounge time, just enough time to use their bathrooms. Didn’t even try accessing the buffet bc it felt like a trash all-inclusive hotel. I’ll cancel my Platinum card - not worth spending $695 if you live in NYC and got the card with an eye to create a better JFK experience.
Good service and good people. It’s a bit cramped, narrow. Made worse with people leaving their bags in the middle of the walkways. Was really excited to see the speakeasy and was let down by how small it felt. I went on July 4 from 1300-1600. I was told it was a slow travel day however the lounge was crowded. The equinox section was not busy and got a 15 min massage by a licensed masseuse. That was terrific. Got a few drinks and while they were good had to wait a bit for them. It was pretty good overall - would be way better if it wasn’t cramped.
Excellent lounge!First time ever going to a centurion lounge and it was completely worth it.It was not crowded when I went in first thing in the morning. The staff was friendly and helpful. The drinks and the service were all so good.Lots of places to sit and relax.Lots of table space with power plugs by the window overlooking the taxiways and ramp areas.
Was excited to finally check out the JFK Centurion Lounge last week on Wednesday night but by 9PM, and while we were let in, there was absolutely nothing by then. No food, no drinks and when we went to the speakeasy, the female bartender seemed to have already closed the shop and were just entertaining the 3 remaining male customers, didnt even acknowledge us coming in. Wasnt impressed. Didnt really feel the premium experience as an American Express Platinum card holder.Went to the Delta Sky club right after and seemed like a world of difference. A very happening buffet serving both hot and cold dishes and a fantastic bar.Hopefully our next experience at the JFK Centurion Lounge would be much better.
The good — food was very good. May be the best I’ve had in a lounge. The bartender was friendly and knowledge. The bad — literally everything else. Half the lounge was closed “for cleaning”. I assume they were just short on staff. I saw one staff member retreat to the downstairs portion that was “closed” to play on his phone for awhile. Speaking of the staff…training on professional hospitality would be welcomed. Not up to standards I’ve seen g other AMEX CLs.Obviously with the 2 stars, the bad really outweighed the good. Next time at JFK, I’ll skip this for the Delta Sky Club (something I would never consider at the DFW CL for example). BTW, my next stop was in ATL at the Sky Club in terminal F. At least on this day, the CL @ JFK wasn’t in the same league with the ATL Delta Sky Club. Lots of room for improvement here.
Awesome AMEX perk! Clean, modern and inviting JFK airport lounge, with free meals, free drinks (including alcoholic ones) and bountiful + comfortable seating with many outlets for charging electronic devices! Great food! Clean spacious bathrooms. Highly recommend! A great relaxing atmosphere for long layovers
Hard to describe the disappointment without sounding dramatic. But this has definitely been the worst lounge I’ve ever been in in my life. Not an exaggeration just a simple fact that’s easy to declare because it’s not even close. I will remember in the future to avoid this amateur show. Don’t arrive after seven. The bar is closed and the food has changed to “snacks” - seriously? Yes, seriously. I had ditched the Singapore airlines lounge thinking that surely American Express would be providing the best. What a joke. Definitely worth a shlepp back again to the Singapore lounge to enjoy a nicely chilled Chardonnay and dinner. AVOID.
Solid 9 (out of 10).Great cocktail selection!Convenient location, BEST food compare with currently open lounges at JFK terminal 4. Memorable cocktails.Professional, accommodating staff.Improvement could be made by adding more space. It’s too crowded in the food services areas..The logistic of servicing food has to be addressed ASAP to accommodate new “Covid reality”…Have I mentioned, it’s the best cocktail place?
I have enjoyed other Centurion lounges in SFO and Hong Kong (amazing) but the JFK lounge was disappointing at best. Fruit, salad, soup, maybe some wings, essentially less than a basic Priority Club. Small and Somme what claustrophobic, maybe light in options due to Covid (mask still required here but not on my flight?) and 12 noon time. I left and was thrilled with Delta club in Terminal 4 (3x the options, 5x larger). I expected more.
One of the best airport lounges I’ve ever been to - staff were spectacular, food was great and the speakeasy bar (and bar staff) made it a memorable visit. Equinox Body Lab was also a unique addition. Very impressed with the high standards of this lounge, especially during the COVID pandemic!
It was my Centurion lounge debut after upgrading my American Express. I had to tell you that my first experience was a kind of disappointment. After TSA check at the JFK airport, terminal 4, I showed my flight ticket and platinum Amex card at the lounge front desk, but additionally I was asked to show my ID by the guy with glasses on the left window. I have used the Delta sky club for years but was never asked for a picture ID to enter and this made me uncomfortable and hope he is doing this for every Centurion customers and especially not because I was an old Asian woman traveling alone. My flight was to DC for my oldest granddaughter’s 3rd birthday. This entrance checking did not make my day.Compared with Delta sky club, the food had less selection and the lounge was less spacey.I will have more chances to fly to see my grandkids in two different locations and that’s the main reason I have upgraded my American Express card to have more comfortable time after the rough TSA check and at the regular waiting room before boarding. I’ll fly again from the LaGuardia via Atlanta to Gulfport this weekend. I will see if Centurion desk will ask my ID regularly or not.
Just go to Delta if you eat GF and/or carnivore. There was one meat dish, roasted chicken and it contained wheat. No cheese or deli meat station. No hard boiled eggs. The only protein is chicken with wheat. There are seceral cookies and finger desserts, rice, two salads, and cooked vegetables. To their credit, my admission was refunded upon request.
Disgusting treatment of current AMEX Cardholders. We were stuck in the airport for 12 hours due to a delay from our flight connecting to JFK for London, and the AMEX staff refused us entry. Absolutely horrible experience and the manager offered no empathy. I will be cancelling all my AMEX cards and shall never do business with this absolutely disgusting company again.
Just because my flight had long time to depart and and I had to check out of my hotel early I can to Centurion lounge at JFK but the guy at Frontdesk of lounge did not allow me access stating there is a 3 hour max ceiling ……..so very disappointing and frustratingI understand it was 55 minutes extra but there was no other option for me ….Without recognizing the tenure loyalty and engagement that I had with American Express for the last 8+ years they could not accommodate 55 minutes for me …I think Amex can do better than this
Have 3 platinum cards and was not “allowed” in because it was an hour before permitted time. An absolute joke went through security just to go to this lounge. Also always in the worst terminals so I never am able to use the card ever. Heavily considering dropping the card. The customer service was appalling.
AMEX Centurion Lounge at Terminal Four JFK is what Lounges were meant to be like. Incredible welcome. Fantastic & superior service. Delicious food. A Speak Easy bar right from New Orleans and free Spa Treatments after were done with Covid. I wouldnt go to any airline lounges again. Cant wait for them to open up elsewhere.
New Centurion Lounge at JFK. Delicious food, attentive and friendly staff. George in the Equinox Fitness Center is super knowledgeable and friendly. The vibration chair is a must-try, but it is first come first serve, so there may be a wait involved. They are still waiting for clearance before they can start with more hands on massages. Recommend enjoying it before business travel picks up again.Lounge has some COVID precaution measures in place, which is nice. After providing ID, eligible Amex Card, and boarding pass, temperature is taken with an infrared station prior to admission. Every other seat is blocked. Food station is buffet, but requires an Amex attendant to grab the food that you would like. Portions are small (as expected for lounge fare), but delicious and the nice staff asked me if I would like more after taking away my empty plate.Would definitely try to visit again before this place gets crowded.
Exited terminal 8, took the sky train, and waited in security again to use this lounge only to be told it was for Platinum holders only. No way in. What’s worse is I saw a guy sucked into a free trial being told the upgrade was ‘free’ when in fact it costs $695 after 14 days... Be careful.
Great lounge. My family used the family lounge which is great.... Allows for kids to be kids and parents to relax. Great food, very tasty and healthy options. Shower can be a 15min wait. The only thing that can be improved is the Latin lady that works at the bar - she could be a bit nicer.
Very nice little oasis after security in terminal 4. Pretty robust breakfast offerings. They didn’t have the usual lunge fancy coffee maker you can use yourself, but the bartender was making hand pulled espresso drinks—slower, but legitimately good. The drinks are complimentary and the mimosa was made with St. Germain, which is pretty amazing, because they already have you at the lounge and the drinks are free, so they have no need to go above and beyond, but it was a good mimosa.I didn’t check out the equinox gym so I’m not sure what the deal is there. I also didn’t go to the downstairs.
If I could give them 0 stars I would. I went to the bar area and asked about what kinds of Martini they have available. The bartender completely dismissed me and treated me in an extremely rude manner. When I asked why she was behaving this way she told me to hurry up and stop asking questions because there were “many people” behind me, there was only one person. Even if there had been many behind me, this is no excuse to treat a customer this way. I am completely disappointed with her service and attitude for no reason. I asked her name and she said there was no need for me to know. She later told me it is Fanny. Again, I do not recommend it at all.
Was denied entry due to employees still attempting to enforce mask mandates that no longer exist. Apparently the Centurion lounge desires to be the only “business” within JFK to require masks. Despite the employees double mask and plexiglass she felt unsafe with me not masked in the airport in accordance with the mask mandates being deemed unlawful and no longer enforceable by airlines or TSA.This is a stupid thing to deny someone entry to especially since the minute you get into the lounge you remove your mask to eat or drink. Is Amex selectively trying to enforce this non existent policy or are they leaving it up to whoever is working to decide who can enter?
If there was a five star lounge, Amex Centurion would definitely be it. One of the few reasons I still kept my amex platinum card. The selection of food and drinks are unlike any other lounges including delta skyclubs and priority pass lounges in NY airports. I was told the downstairs speakeasy has a special selection of cocktails as well, so will definitely try that on my next visit.
Experiencing the lounge made my cancelled flight rebooked with a layover in NYC worth it! 2 stories, 3 bars including speakeasy, 2 buffets (same food), and multiple seating areas and nooks for privacy. The speakeasy bartender was amazing!!!In addition, an Equinox lounge with yoga/meditation room, meditation chair, compression treatment, and massage gun. Id definitely recommend the compression treatment.
This is actually one of the better lounges Ive experienced. The food was good and constantly being put out fresh. Im a picky eater and even they had something I could eat. It has multiple floors and seating with outlets everywhere. The wifi is good. Its located immediately after you go through security in Terminal 4. Its to the left. The staff was very friendly and welcoming too which I appreciated.
Horrible service. After a tour of the lounge (including the workout / yoga room), I was scolded for being in the room before it opened and questioned how I got in. There was no lock and no signs about opening times, plus it was introduced to us on the tour with no notice of opening hours. On another visit I was asked to leave because my partner (platinum cardholder) had told them (when he checked in) that I was a few minutes behind but he had to hop on a 30 minute work call and would check me in after. After sitting on their bench (no signs saying I couldnt) for 10-15 minutes to wait for him to escort me in, fthey asked me to leave because I was not allowed to sit there.I have other amex products. Not the one that gets lounge access but I am a highly dissatisfied customer. This was horrible customer service given they were informed I was coming and my sitting there didnt bother anyone.
I liked this lounge compared to some of the other Centurions. Its tucked away in the terminal so maybe thats why it wasnt too busy. Upstairs/downstairs. Two bars with one being a speakeasy, although Im not sure what makes that one different. Bartender was on point - did me a double without asking. Food was on point. Nothing more to ask for really.
Thank you so much for how amazing you guys were! We had a super long layover due to Delta messing up our trip and the kind lady allowed us to come in early. Our flight was then cancelled a few hours later and the two people at the front desk were helping us out and were so nice! The lounge inside was comfortable, the food and drinks were delicious, and it felt great being able to relax after a long, 8 hour flight.
I love this Centurion lounge! Have been there twice since its opening.. and must say, the food and drinks are excellent! Although, no place can be great without the staff! From the reception, bartenders, and waitstaff I couldnt have asked for more. I spent some time speaking with the bartenders, Alejandro and Barbara, they were great, and we had wonderful conversation... Everyone was extremely attentive and amicable. Thank you for a great time... I live closer to LGA but have been booking my trips to JFK just to stay here a while ;)
This is the second Centurion Lounge that we have been to; the first was Denver. The JFK lounge is disappointing. It is located in an obscure place in terminal 4. There are very few directions to direct one to the lounge. Further, the food selections were poor, cold and the chicken breast could have been used as the sole of one’s shoe. The bar however was well stocked and the bartender friendly. This place needs serious help
Great quality food, drinks, service and amenities. A bit limited in food offerings and far located from all gates but its worth it if you have a weather related stranded experience like we had. The Menu was the same at the beginning and end of our trip in a two week period (low points there)
Staff here are a cut above (even from other centurion lounges including IAH, SFO, HKG, SYD, and SEA from front desk to kitchen staff to bussers/food service and bar staff and even equinox employees in the spa. And the experience they provide is solid whether the lounge is slow or bouncing. Appreciate!
Turned up at 7pm, told they were serving a light dinner which turned out to be salad and fruit. Incredibly disappointed to pay so much in annual fees, which we do to get access to these lounges, and to turn up a full hour before they close to realise all food service has stopped. Amex need to do better
Worst experience on a Sunday. Food was empty by 7PM; horrible cocktails. Bar closed at 7:30. Been to most of the centurion lounges and I would say this one’s the worst. Save yourself timeAnd head over to the delta lounge if you have a delta flight + amex platinum card
I hate to be the dissenter here among many glowing reviews, but I was wildly underwhelmed by the JFK Centurion Lounge.Other lounges (like LAS) have a more open feel, whereas the JFK lounge feels like furniture dropped in the middle of never ending hallways. Every space is narrow. Signage is poor, and navigating the large amounts of small rooms was frustrating. Its strange that this lounge is the largest in the Centurion network, but felt the smallest. I cant say enough negative things about the layout. It just wasnt a relaxing, inviting environment. The lounges location also makes it not convenient to use for domestic flights. If flying Delta, most flights are a 5-10 minute walk from the lounge, as opposed to Deltas SkyClub at B32. The location makes sense as a best compromise for access to intl flights on the A side of T4 and some gates on the B side, but if youre traveling from gate B55, leave a LOT of time to walk and/or take the Jitney bus.The food was excellent though, and the staff was very helpful.I probably wont be returning, especially with the improvements made to the B32 SkyClub.
I thought the Centurion Club was a service for Platinum Card members who fly through terminal 4 JFK. Where has the service gone? I showed my boarding pass (Sky Priority), my NY drivers license and my Platinum card at the window and I was rejected (not allowed entry). While I tried to reason with Grace and her supervisor (a woman whose ID I could not read at 12:40 PM 5/28/21, if any person wanted to confirm) 2 other Platinum card holders were turned away. A fourth person was admitted.Wow 1/4 is awful service!I plan to close my Platinum account and I do not feel threatened that my name is associated with this poor review. The truth is liberating!
To the staff at the Centurion Lounge working the evening shift at 7:30P on Sunday evening. Please be aware of the rules and basis of when you can refuse someone. You are allowed to admit cardholders with a connecting flight in transit no matter the duration prior to their next flight (i.e. more than 3 hours)I was denied access since my flight was 3 hours and 30 minutes away. It was a connecting flight and I’d been in travel for 7 hours and had a 3.5 hour layover at JFK prior to a 10 hour intl flight. The entire point of the card and the main perk of the AMEX Platinum Card for many people in my opinion. Please have staff learn your own policies. For me personally this was incredibly frustrating because I have a 10 hour flight after and everything else in airport is closed now. In addition I had to exit and reclear security to get there plus change terminals. It’s also the reason why I decided to transit/connect at JFK for my international flight. All in all, 120 min wasted between terminals among many other inconveniences (all other food options closed, time walking around searching for another lounge). Also for the record the lounge must have been almost empty as there appeared to be hardly anyone due to the timing in the evening and not many flights. The employee needs to realize that their job is to not miss the bigger picture of why customers like I value American Express Centurion Lounges and AMEX Corporate needs to enable your employees to make decisions with exceptions to policy and rules when not applicable (even though this time she was just mis-trained on actual policies). The AMEX lounges exist to make the lives a bit better and more enjoyable or productive for people who travel often. Corporate rules exist as guidelines for overall better service but employees can’t be missing the bigger picture and deny customers on technicalities when there’s literally no one in the lounge and it would have made zero difference to AMEX or any other customer by letting me in.I’ve spoken to American Express to cancel my membership entirely across all accounts and you’ve greatly disappointed an extremely loyal (8+ years) and extremely high volume customer that uses AMEX for Business and Personal.
This lounge is a little small but do its job. Like the food here, enough for me as lunch. Coffee, sparkling water, and a mini bar.I get here 2 hours before my flight and work here a little bit. The only bad thing is find a coach seat can be hard when lots of people here. Can also be a little warm in summer with those bid windows.
Membership doesnt always guarantee privileges at JFk Centrion lounge. After a 4 am departure from our home in Connecticut , my family of four, 2 adults and 2 children ages 5 & 11 decided to seek some travel relief prior to boarding our flight to Bahamas for our family vacation. As a businsess owner with Amex Platinum card I try to make the most of the membership privileges when I have the opportunity. When my family and I arrived at the Centurion lounge at JFK on 8/20/2022 the reception was so cold and unwelcoming. The receptionist took the time to put her mask on when she saw us but never said welcome. After a brief but very unwelcoming conversation with the 3 representatives my family and I left. Thus my opening statement.
Says it opens at 6am but don’t be fooled. Overcrowded and no seating because they don’t open the first floor until 9am. Most seating on the second floor are restaurant tables and chairs. Hot food doesn’t start until 6:30am. Bar opens at 8am. Speakeasy opens at 12:30pm. Fitness center and showers aren’t open until 9, as well. What a disappointing and uncomfortable experience as a benefit of my Amex card. Ended up leaving and going to the Skymiles lounge which was a far superior experience.

2022-05-21Our flight was cancelled and the wait for help from Delta help desk was over 3 hours. The amenities at this Centurion Lounge were absolutely top notch and a lifesaver during the unexpected cancellation of our flight! They have more than enough seating, good food all you can eat, and open bar as well. There is a speakeasy downstairs called The 1850 that had a very cool atmosphere, individually seating sections that allowed some privacy if needed, showers for people if needed, and overall the staff was very helpful. They really helped make a tough and unexpected situation a little more comfortable.

2022-06-09They say it’s one of the biggest centurion lounge. Overall the experience was good but felt overcrowded. Waited in line to get in, on the food, toilet, drinks and massage. Dedicated seating area for centurion members was occupied too. Arrived around 3pm. The massage was fantastic. 15 min lower back and shoulders. It’s complementary.

2021-12-29As the newest and largest Centurion Lounge in the US, this was a refreshing upgrade from dated facilities like the Centurion at SFO. If you happen to be flying from JFK Terminal 4, I highly recommend arriving early (you should anyways due to the unpredictable security lines). This way, you can enjoy a nice meal before a long flight, grab a quick shower and change into comfortable clothing, enjoy a drink at the speakeasy and experience some acoustic therapy at the Equinox Body Lab!

2022-06-09Walked in and greeted with by a women wearing a mask for safetyShe asked for American express card , then boarding pass , then Identification. Then instructs you to take the business card to get access wifi.Had to figure out where the food is located because it is not an open space and no one tells youfirst open space is the restroomslooked to the left then looked to the right and notice lots of people to the right, where the food is located: PACKEDNo seats anywhere in the loungefood and drink option is limited.Due to limited space you may have to sit near the entrance.Sitting near the entrance has its perks as the conversation of the weekly and weekend plans of the women checking you in is entertaining. They can not see you because of the lay out but because of layout the acoustics allows the conversation to travelif your goal is not to sit near boarding gate then the Centurion is goodIf you are looking for good meal with peace and quiet then it depends on your definition.Best part was the fire alarms going off - check photo for proof

2022-02-05One of great lounge collection of American 3xoress. Very quiet and after security. That way you dont have to rush to the gate the lounge itself 2 floor. The 3rd floor is the cool speakeasy bar and 4th floor is the equinox spa. Both floor serve the same food and drinks. As usual very friendly staff. Compare to other American express lounge this one is a bit smaller but very comfy. All the cocktails such as espresso martini or Southside are all free at the speakeasy barThey also have shower facilities. On the disappointing side there are no coke zero or low carb or low sugar food and beverages.American express if you are reading this, you need more healthier food option such as low carb and low sugar.

2022-04-10Great AMEX lounge that offers excellent food, a full bar and even a speakeasy! Its also full of amazing and friendly staff. You will not be disappointed. The lounge is located in Terminal 4. Walk left after passing TSA.TIME SAVING TIP: If you have Clear or TSA Pre, you can use them to skip to the front of the security line (even if your flight departs from another terminal).PRO TIP: As soon as you enter the lounge, head to the Equinox Body Lab, as an appointment is sometimes needed in order to enjoy their relaxation and massage compression COMPLIMENTARY services! This lounge is the perfect place to relax after a long flight or enjoy great food and drinks before your vacation. If you visit early in the morning, they offer mimosas and Bloody Marys.Shout out to Richard, Kim, Ope, Tiana from Equinox Body Lab for treating us so well and the bartender Leslie for making an amazing old fashioned! 🥃Dont forget to visit the speakeasy, located downstairs past the doors labeled 1850.:

2022-07-04It was a good place to stop by before my flightIt was my first time utilizing my platinum. It was smaller than I expected and it was somewhat packed, but I was able to get a seat by the food to grab something to eat, got myself a Mimosa as well. Unfortunately the speakeasy wasnt opened when I was there and couldnt try their espresso martini there but I still got one at one of the other an open bars.

2022-06-18They have a speakeasy!! I was a guest at the centurion lounge before my international flight and it was a nice place to spend time on the layover. There were plenty of food options in the terminal and although they would be expensive, Im sure would be a better option OF youre looking for a great meal. The perks here are the bars (and bar staff), coffee machines and clean bathrooms. Food is decent but not amazing nor a huge selection. It was very busy with people coming and going and with a buffet it needs to be maintained, and it was. Speakeasy was a lounge but looked to be the same type of drinks.

2022-02-21Excellent lounge. Relaxed atmosphere with massage and yoga studio upstairs. Downstairs has a speakeasy. Bartender can make any cocktail … my pic shows my perfect old fashioned. Food is great and staff are very courteous. Try the compression system for your legs! 20 min session and I was floating!

2022-04-28Another amazing experience. Friendly staff, delicious food, and a comfortable place to relax or get some work done.Added note - Barbara in the downstairs speakeasy was incredibly and makes an excellent dirty martini.
