Quick to respond (even on a sat night before a holiday), friendly, nice, sincere, not vultures, very professional, confirmed appt via email and phone, showed up on time, Jamie the service tech showed up, very courteous to me and my wife, wearing protective clothes, made sure not to get anything dirty or track dirt, could easily have done unnecessary services and charged me a fortune more, but instead took the time to educate me about my washing machine- had it for 7 years and didnt know how to properly clean it- jamie showed me- jamie repaired a broken piece and was a great representative of his company. the kind of guy i would love to hire for my own small business. highly recommend this place. so rare to find good customer service these days, and reasonable prices. thank you so much!!! customer for life.
My appointment was from noon to 4. At 12:30, my technician, Alex, called to let me know he’d be here in 15 minutes.He arrived, diagnosed & explained the problem, quoted me the repair, had the needed part on his van, and installed it all under 30 minutes.Thanks, Alex!
Had them work on my Thermador stove. Replaced part, part failed, came back and replaced again next day with no issue and all well. Highly recommwnded
Alex and American Service are great! I have a Viking stove and of course 1 week before Thanksgiving the stove stops working. I called American Service and they had Alex come over within a day. He checked the stove, told me I needed a $500 part, which was fine with me, I just needed the stove working. Then he checked a little further and found that the problem was a broken wire. He repaired the wire and the stove works perfectly again. The cost of the repair was a fraction of what I was expecting and now we can have a great Thanksgiving dinner. This company is the best. I wont use anyone else for any appliance repairs. Thank you all.
Rob arrived exactly on time, and clearly explained what was wrong with my dishwasher. Since the dishwasher is 25 years old I decided to not fix it. I highly recommend American Service. And will definitely call them if another appliance needs repairs.
After other companies failed Alex was able to immediately fix the problems. We have used him twice now for two different appliances and will never call anyone else. Alex and American Service are what other companies strive to be.

I have had several companies trying to fix my Viking refrigerator and found it to be one debacle after another until American Service came to the rescue. After our 3 year old washing machine started leaking water, I called American Service. They responded right away and made a service appointment at a time that was convenient for me. Because my washer has a dryer stacked on top of it, they explained it would be a two-man job, which I expected and was totally agreeable. Rob and Alex showed up right on time and got to work diagnosing the problem. They had the necessary parts in their truck and fixed the washer in a timely manner. They were both very professional and made me feel totally confident in their work. I would recommend American Service to anyone in need of an appliance repair.

Josh is a true professional! Our Scottsman ice machine broke down and we got a service call within a day of scheduling. Josh came and gave us the potential bad news after diagnosed the problem. It could have been a whole new condenser but he was able to get a separate part for a couple hundred dollars, saving us about $1,000.00 for a new condenser for a machine costing over $3,000.00. Josh is a life saver in my family. I was ready to buy ice trays on Amazon but instead Josh got it working like new for a few hundred. Thank you American Service!!!!!
Josh was PERFECTION and fixed my gave oven in well under an hour. He was knowledgeable, professional, and cut right to the chase. Our Blomberg oven was so expensive and I was so worried it was a lemon. Instead, I was delighted for Josh to tell me it was a result of normal wear and tear and he had everything he needed to fix it with ease.Not only that, my appointment was a Saturday afternoon at 5pm and he arrived with a pleasant and positive attitude, even after a presumably long day. Its these little things that truly mean just as much as a persons skill set in being able to fix the problem.If I ever need appliance support again Im calling and asking only for Josh.

All of my interactions with American Service were top notch starting with the team in the office. They contacted me quickly after I made my online booking request. They explained the process thoroughly, then return called me with my appointment time window. Jaime was the technician who serviced our gas range. He has excellent customer service skills. He called in advance, was prompt with his arrival (early actually, but he said he would be in his phone call), polite and respectful when he arrived, explained everything in detail, and completed the repair in a timely fashion. While I hope to not have to repair another appliance in the near future, I would call American Service for all my appliance repair needs and would hope that Jaime would be our tech again.
I mistakenly called another repair service and they wanted to charge $895 total to repair my dryer. I searched a bit harder through my records and found American Service’s number in my records. They came 2 days later and fixed the broken pulley for $280 in the same visit. They were prepared, honest and affordable. I am very grateful. Eileen in East Norwich
My experience was excellent. I was able to get an appointment fairly quickly and they were in constant communication with me. I was assigned a technician named Tyler. American Service provided a picture of Tyler in their confirmation email to me. Tyler was prompt and extremely courteous and efficient. Thankfully I had a very minimal issue and he was able to assist me at the time of the appointment. He encouraged me to ask any questions I may have in regard to my new appliance and reassured me that no question was too small or unnecessary. I highly recommend this service and Tyler the technician was professional, knowledgeable, approachable and efficient.
I called on a Sunday and was surprised to get a call back, when the office was closed. Missed the call but they called me Monday morning at 7:40 and offered to fit me in then. I was already at work and asked if they could do it around 12 on my lunch hour. Not a problem. My technician, Alex, was prompt, polite, professional and had my dryer up and running within 15 minutes of his arrival. He had the parts he needed, and double checked my vent to make sure it wasnt a fire hazard. Loved my experience with American and I would use them again!

It gives me no pleasure to give a two star review for a company that did provide quick excellent service. The problem is as you can see in the picture which is a copy of what I posted on yelp is that we felt very ripped off….. but we needed the washing machine fixed and he did come out in a timely manner…We will not use this company again because we thought the price was very overinflated….

Tyler and Charlie were great guys, came immediately on the day of. They quickly diagnosed the problem on my wolf dual range stove, and proposed a solution. They were able to fix the appliance in less than 30 minutes. Great and efficient service, will contact them again in the future for any other issue.
Highly recommend American Service! They were able to give us an appointment last minute and arrived during the time frame that they promised. Josh and his assistant Miguel were very friendly and polite. They explained the problem to me and were able to fix my dryer on the spot! Josh also pointed out that my dryer was not properly installed and offered to fix it for me at no extra cost. Ive used American Service over the years for many of my kitchen appliances. They are always a pleasure to work with! Appointments are fast, diagnosis is accurate, repair is made (usually from parts they already have with them - so no subsequent appointment necessary) and any mess is taken care of. Josh & Miguel were here and gone before I finished my morning coffee and we now have ice!
Our GE dryer was giving us major issues and we were hopeful that American Service would be able to help us. Our repair person, Tyler, came to our house exactly when he said he would. Tyler was a pleasure to deal with and figured out the issue immediately. He got our dryer back up and running in no time, saving us over a thousand dollars. Absolutely loved the experience with American Service company!!Technician ( Josh ) came on time, within 15 min I had an estimate , which was very reasonable! As soon as I approved, he fixed our built- in oven problem right there on the spot. Do not use any other company! Hands down the best experience throughout our renovation. American Service was so professional and knowedgeable; they were here within a day with all parts needed and stayed as long as it took to fix my oven! Charlie was superb (and did I mention professional?) He not only made sure my Viking range was functional but helped to level it, place it and tweak each and every aspect of it. The price was right and the service was impeccable, this is the only appliance service I will ever use.
American Service provided same day service and fixed my washing machine several years ago. They were the first place I thought of when my ice maker stopped working. They deliver same day service thats reasonably priced. Josh is a great repair guy -- honest, cheerful and reliable. Recommend.

I called this company out of the blue because of pretty good reviews on google. I had a fantastic experience! From the first contact with the secretary who was well spoken, polite and had a tech out to my house the following day to my experience with the tech Rob I was very impressed. Rob Arrived at my house shook my had was polite and got down to business. He replaced one part fixed certain issues but found an addition burned out board. He ordered the part and left. I called the owner and told him even though it did not work out the way I wanted it to and was going to cost me more money I had to call him and tell him what an asset Rob was to his company. Rob was neat, clean, professional,had great knowledge about fixing appliances, and he was not on his cell phone the entire time.Rob came back today replaced the additional part and everything works great!!! I would highly recommend this company and would use them again! I would definitely ask for Rob

I have used American Service on two occasions recently- to repair a Viking oven and repair a Viking ice machine. Both experiences were handled professionally and smoothly by Charlie. The problematic parts were diagnosed quickly and correctly, and replacement was handled promptly from ordering through installation. I love this company. Today, I had Josh do the service on my Viking stove/oven. He was amazing - efficient, polite and respectful. First, he wore the disposable booties to cover his shoes to keep my floors clean. He diagnosed the problem immediately, showing me what was wrong. He gave me a price for the repair and fixed it promptly. There was a second person who cleaned my oven/stove and made it look beautiful (probably cleaner than when they arrived).
The repairman was very professional and diligent. He is a great asset to this company.

Wonderful experience! Tyler was fantastic. He diagnosed the problem and had the part ordered immediately. On the installation of the part, on the second visit, he vacuumed behind the refrigerator! What more could you ask of a person you have in your home? Kudos to American Service and especially to Tyler for a good job.
Thank you American Service! We were having trouble with our 27 year old stove and had called another appliance repair person. We were basically scammed! Then we called American. Joan was very pleasant taking my call and got us on the schedule quickly. Charlie assed the situation and gave us good advice. He was knowledgeable and professional with a great personality. Awesome service!! Ive been using them for over 5 years now. Everyone Ive dealt with has been super friendly, and the technicians are honest and reliable. Today I had Frank come for my microwave. As always, they called with my window of time in the morning, and then Frank called when he was on his way, giving me a 15 minute heads up. He even told me that the repair wasnt worth it and that I should put money into a new unit, that right there says a lot. They are looking out for the best interests of their customers. My family and I will definitely continue to use American Service for all of our appliance repairs!!

About a couple months ago I called several companies to come see whats the problem with my oven. The only one that detected the problem right away was Charlie from American Service. Hes on point and knows exactly what hes doing! Every penny spent with this company was well worth it. Yesterday I called again for a different issue with my stove top. The clicking sound was driving my husband and I crazy! And of course Charlie came to the rescue and fixed our problem! I called up about a barbecue that needed some service. Very basic stuff, basically- the lighter wasnt working great. They charged almost 200 for an ESTIMATE just to look at it. Fine. Then they wanted 1200 dollars... I REPEAT, TWELVE HUNDRED DOLLARS to fix the ignition, a burner, and a the flavor rods. I asked “huh.. that seems high, you guys quoted me much lower a year ago?”She said “yes, but with corona we have increased our prices nearly double” THIS IS CALLED PRICE GOUGINGExcuse me? That is the single most disgusting thing Ive ever heard from a company I used to do business with. Shame. Shame on all of them for taking a crisis and abusing it to screw over the people of long island. Disgusting business with a horribly rude attitude.
Called at 11AM for service and by 11:10AM Tyler called me back saying he was around the corner to fix our Samsung Dryer. Luckily it was a quick fix - Im writing this at 11:25AM and our dryer is back up and running! Great customer service and great price!

Tyler called in advance to let me know when he would be arriving. He showed up as expected. He was genial and professional. He listened to my dryer and the odd grinding noise it was making, opened the machine and inspected the drive mechanism. Shortly thereafter, he provided his diagnosis and recommendation on what course of action I should take. At all times he was honest and professional. I would highly recommend American Service based on my experience with Tyler.

American Service has fixed two issues in my home. Josh and Charlie were both extremely professional and knowledgeable. We also used Charlie for an issue out east in the Hamptons. They were also very friendly and communicated the issues in a simple way that anyone would be able to understand.I highly reccomend this company.

I have had these folks three times. Once they replaced the rollers in my dryer. Once they cleaned out the defrost drain in the fridge and most recently replaced the fridges start relay. They come with little delay. The workmen are clean and know their business. One even refused to replace the touch pad in my mounted microwave when he saw I had a counter top micro which I had recently bought . Replacing the touchpad was not worth the money he said as long as I was satisfied with the counter top. Which was a quality Breville. All in all I find this outfit to be a solid dependable business. Why only 4 stars? No one should get 5 stars. That is reserved for the angels.

I live out in the Hamptons and as anyone knows – in the Hamptons it is extremely difficult to find a great Appliance Repair Service. I have a 36” build in Refrigerator and DCS professional cooktop that is 17 years old that I love but needs repair. I googled appliances and chose the American Service Company as they are listed as having an office in Southampton but also had great reviews. I work at a well-known real estate brokerage and one of the questions that is always asked by brokers is “Who do you use for appliance repair”. Appliance Service came when they said they would. I opened the door and in comes Charlie – one of the Owners to fix my appliances. I knew that I was in great hands. He was honest with me and I decided not to fix my stove, but decided to fix my refrigerator. Charlie was honest, professional and just great to work with. I will be recommending American Service Company to my colleagues and friends alike. You won’t be disappointed by calling American Service!

Although I didnt need Ken to come out..... I respect his honestly because honesty and integrity goes along way. I called Ken about my washer, explained what my problem was, and he gave me some tips to try and they worked!!!!! During my many decades as a homeowner on Long Island, I’ve found that one of the most daunting tasks has been to find honest, knowledgeable, reliable, and personable people in the various trades. Admit it, we all need the services of an electrician or a plumber or a carpenter from time to time. Even more importantly, we often need the services of highly skilled professionals with deep expertise in medium and high-end appliances more than ever as those units age. These individuals need to know the most obscure details of the inner workings of products from vendors such as Bosch, Viking, Wolf, Sub Zero, Whirlpool, and a long list of others in order to repair your unit when it seems to have failed but still has years of life left in it.I don’t write reviews often, but I do write them when they’re deserved. Such is the case with American Service located at 7 Richard Street, Hicksville, NY. My present home is 13 years old. During the past few years, several appliances have either failed or began to fail. My first experience with the people who work for American Service was 6 years ago when my washing machine started to falter. Folks who are currently with American Service were able to diagnose the problem, order a part, and repair the unit in less than a week. It lasted another 5 years before finally giving up the ghost. Considering how much use it got from my family and extended family, this was nothing short of amazing. More recently, other units have gasped what I thought was their last breath and have been repaired for a fraction of the cost of a new unit of similar quality. Specifically, a Sub Zero refrigerator and a Viking Professional oven with a six-burner stovetop were resuscitated about 5 years ago. Both are still alive and working beautifully. This year, my Viking Professional microwave appeared to be in dire need of replacement. Once again, it was rescued by the folks at American Service and now looks and works as good as new.I’d like to stress that all repairs were made onsite by courteous professionals who took care to respect my property and leave their work area in as good or better condition than it was when they arrived. It’s my pleasure to say good things about the owner of this well-managed company and his technical staff. For all of you who live in Nassau and Suffolk counties, the bottom line is this company is a keeper and deserves more stars than Google permits. And, for those of you old enough to remember Bo Derek, then you’ll know what I mean when I say American Service is a 10.

Very professional service. The technicians are very knowledgeable on the Viking appliances we have in the house. We had 2 separate issues which combined would be very expensive to repair, but they agree to reduce the price significantly because we were loyal customers.
Tl;dr This company is inadequate for Viking (and probably any) refrigerator. They were ill-prepared to deal with all possibilities at why our fridge was defective. They did an inadequate checkup on the fridge and charged us money for servicing our fridge. For any issues that are more complex that checking whether or not the fridge is receiving power, they are incapable.Story: PC Richards called this authorized Viking repair company to service our newly bought refrigerator that had some electrical issue due it to it suddenly turning off. They came inadequately prepared. They sent a single person over for an issue that they knew might require for the refrigerator to be temporarily removed. The person deemed that the refrigerator issue was with our outlet, not the refrigerator. He was adamant that this was the case and was unwilling to have the company send over more people to remove the fridge to confirm this was the issue. Furthermore, because the issue wasnt the refrigerator, they deemed that we now owed $125 for the servicing of the refrigerator. After telling them how they didnt do anything and we wont pay the bill, the boss of the company started yelling and saying how he would blacklist us if we dont pay the bill.We called PC Richards to come and check on the fridge the next day. They took out the fridge and checked the cable, it was all messed up. We tested the outlet, everything worked. We tested the fridge with an extension cable to a different outlet, and it still wouldnt turn on. We tried 3 more outlets, including one that our printer uses. The issue was with the fridge, not the outlet. We called American Service to notify them, and they refused to own up to their mistake and service the fridge.This may have been a one-off experience, but the anger and screaming from the boss indicates a permanent character flaw and issue. I would not trust him with making permanent, high-quality repairs on any of my appliances.Edit: As Im now reading the reviews, theres an uncanny consistency in the 5-star reviews. They all mention a Charlie, Tyler, or Josh. They mention they did a very professional and thorough diagnostic test. None of this was done with our fridge, and the person who came to service our fridge didnt tell us their name *even after* we directly asked. Its a shame really. I wonder how many of these reviews are legitimate as opposed to scripted reviews that companies ask their customers to post. Their motto is service you can trust, quality you can rely on, its a shame that their service and quality is not as consistent as these other reviews let on.Edit 2 (post a reply from the company): They didnt waive the service fee. They merely never issued it despite yelling at us that they would. They knew it wasnt billable. The fridge was under warranty and the issue was with the fridge. Therefore, it is not a billable offense.
I called AS for my broken Sub Zero refrigerator. Michele answered the phone and was extremely pleasant and informative. They had Frank at my home within 2 hours and repaired my Sub Zero in no time. I would give this company ZERO STARS if possible. The receptionist was absolutely rude and dismissive whenever my wife called to find an update. Weve been dealing with our Viking Refriderator being broken since JANUARY of this year and its now the end of AUGUST. The servicemen have come back numerous times without actually doing anything. When they said they had to order a part it was months until we got someone on the phone and to this day we are still waiting for them to come back. When we called Viking directly, they notified us that American Service had waited ONE MONTH after leaving our house to order the part.Also when the servicemen had come we informed him that the freezer was leaking. Clearly it is not sealing properly because we can feel the cold air coming out of it and all contents have melted. He had a look at the door and shrugged I dont like the way this closes and then left the house without telling is when theyd be back. We havent been able to use our freezer since JANUARY..... 8 months ago.I dont write reviews and I dont like to bad mouth people as I am in a service industry as well and understand that not every client will be happy but the avoidence, lack of communication or just blatant lack of any sort of effort as if weve been erased from their schedule is unheard of and I dont understand how a business that operates as such can remain in business.IF ANYONE FROM AMERICAN SERVICE IS READING THIS PLEASE CALL US. Very very nice customer service, however he walked in, I desribed the issue with the washer like I did over the phone and he said it was a plumbing problem. still charged me $100 after being in the house for less than 2 minutes. Why they couldnt tell me that over the phone, who knows, but charging me full price to diagnose the problem doesnt make me want to call again.

Dont bother. Try fixing yourself, the issue is most probably on the web. The mark-up for their service is astronomical. If you cannot figure out the problem from the multitude of web information -replace the appliance.

2022-05-31I was able to get an appointment on a Saturday the first time I called. When they called to tell me they had the part, I again was able to get the day I requested for the repair. Alex the repairman told me Im better off fixing my old stove rather than buying a new one because its made better. I appreciated his advice. Great price, great service, great company. I highly recommend!

2022-02-02All I can say is Wow ! Great customer service from the office staff as well as the tech Rob. I had a drain pump replaced on my GE dishwasher back in December and was impressed with the quick efficient service. The pump failed in January due to a defective part (no fault of theirs) They totally stepped up to the plate and Cathy returned my weekend phone message within 5 minutes. Rob was back 1st call Monday, ordered the part and I was back up and running a few days later. No charge and no nonsense excuses for additional parts and labor. They totally owned the recall which speaks volumes for the integrity of this company ! Theyre my go to company for any future needs and Id totally recommend them to anyone needing an appliance repaired.

Repair will only be temporary because it turned out I need a new fridge but he was honest about it. 2022-02-13Josh R called 15 minutes before arrival on the day of appointment. He was professional, courteous and competent. Wore a mask as did I and covered his shoes to protect our home. Parts have to be ordered and the repair will be done in about a week. Thank you Josh and American Service.
