The people here are wonderful this low score has nothing to do with them. My issue is their way of advertising to lure you in. I only had enough for their special due to being disable and I have no eye insurance. So the only glasses I could get according to the fine print that I could not read, due to lack of glasse and vision. Were the non coated single vision glasses. So I either cannot read anything if I want to see distance or if I want to read I can see in the distance. The glasses glare so bad I cannot see through them of the sun is shining I have never had glasses this Terrible that I cannot see through them.
Everyone is super friendly and helpful. Its clear that all the employees are knowledgeable in their positions. Right from the moment you walk in, when you see the doctor to the payment I felt very welcomed and comfortable for the first time anywhere during this pandemic. The store is super clean and very good at sanitizing too!As far as turn around time and pricing, I cant say how huge of a deal I got and how fast my glasses came in. Thank you guys! I will be back next year!!
Americas Best is one of the clearest decisions i have ever made. Everyone was super helpful and professional and just as friendly. It was an eye opening experience, as they were not shy to guide me through the Hows and Whys of eye and glasses care. Any issues that arose were handled quickly and with gumption! I love my glasses and I will be going back when the need arises!
The Liverpool store was quick, reliable, and accommodating. Dr. Suffolk was thorough and efficient. Michael who helps with glasses purchases was also efficient and beyond kind and accommodating. The entire team was well trained and customer service was a clear priority. Will definitely be back in the future!
Excellent customer service, the doctor got us right in for our exam and the staff was very nice and helpful! The prices for glasses are very reasonable, Marilyn helped us get our glasses fitted and was extremely nice and helpful. I would highly recommend this location.
This place was fantastic!The staff was kind, responsive, and obviously cared for doing their jobs well.The doctor I saw had a great sense of humor and was very informative.I told them that this was the best eye care experience I’ve ever had, and I meant it! Totally worth the switch from Visionworks.
I had an appointment with Visionworks today at 2:20pm. I got there and they had me start looking at glasses. As I am looking and trying on glasses I hear another customer ask 3 times when she will be seen.. She had been waiting over an hour. They said a machine is down and wont be much longer. Well they ended up canceling my appointment and didnt even want to sit down with me to at least get paperwork started or anything. I had taken a half day off of work and had to make arrangements to have my mom stay with my dog due to surgery he had.Lets just say I wasnt happy. So I called Americas Best and explained my situation and they get me right in. The staff is wonderful here. When I walked in they greeted me by name.. Helped get my insurance all set which I did not know before this they except my insurance. They took the extra mile asking me if I was okay and took great care of me. Oh the selection of glasses was amazing! I found exactly what I was looking for and cant wait to get them.I even paid less than I did last year at Visionworks with the same insurance and I paid for my frames put of pocket!Thank you to all at Route 31 Clay!! Brought my 11 year old in for the first time today and can’t say enough about the customer service we received from Samm and Dr. Ralph. Both of them spoke directly to my son in a way that he understood and explained what they were doing to him. Big selection of glasses. I am planning on making an appointment for myself based off of our experience today.
I bought my glasses from this location a while ago. The other day my dog knocked my glasses off my face and I thought they were broken. I thought I was going to have to buy a new pair right after the holidays mind you. My budget wasn’t really ready for a new pair but they fixed them for me and saved me some money in the process. I’ll be back when it’s time for new ones.
I came here to get an exam a few weeks ago and they did a great job. I was having issues with double vision. After trying the new glasses out, the double vision is gone. I was able to use my insurance and get a pair of Vera Bradley glasses for half what I’ve spent in the past.
Horrible experience. This was my first time using my new insurance, and I wasn’t exactly sure how the process worked. The woman that checked me in had no patience and was not very willing to help me and passed me on to someone else to get me in the system (who was very helpful). After my eye exam with the doctor (who was AMZING! He gets a 10/10), I had to meet with the same woman to order my contacts. She THEN told me my insurance didn’t cover anything and I had to pay in full on the spot. When I asked if there were other options she seemed irritated as though I was asking too many questions. Very disappointed in the service I received today.
They took advantage of me being a cash paying customer. The “salesman” told me my sunglasses would be very thin and after taking over 2 weeks to get the finished product, the lenses were thicker than any lenses i have ever owned. I attempted to bite the bullet and take them, until i put them on and one of the lenses fell out of the frame. They argued that I “got what i ordered”. When i ordered the glasses i said over and order that money was no concern and all I wanted was the thinnest lenses possible. They also “upsold” the air puff test and some other test bringing my total to around 140 dollars for JUST the eye exam. They ended up refunding me some of the money I had spent but said that i lost the discounts previously applied. They charged me 99 dollars for some club that was supposed to be 10 dollars. After everything was said and done and the refund was given, they charged me 369 dollars for a year supply of contacts and an eye exam. I asked for a 6 month supply. I called around and found that almost every other optometrist in the area gives the exam for free if glasses and contacts are ordered. I feel scammed. I feel taken advantage of and neither the corporate or this office returned my calls. To top it all off, my contact trial lenses were correct with the prescription but the year supply is a different prescription and blurry in the left eye. Watch out people. This could be you.
Today I took my daughter for a eyeexamination and the staff here were all top notch!! This was a big deal for my daughter as she had severe social anxiety and mutism, which in result causes her to be unable to verbalize. My daughter was so nervous and the staff picked up on it and didnt make a big deal about. The gentleman that did the pretesting was so caring and starting singing to try to calm her down and reassure her that she is brave and that he understands her struggles and wants to make sure this is a positive experience for her. The staff was amazing.
Terrible...No Deal here, people. went in here for the 2 pair for 69.99 deal by the time they were done my bill was more than double that...even with my insurance. one of the pairs of glasses I got have broken twice the first 2 months I have owned them. The first time I took them back for repair which was less than a month of owning them I was told that the original screws that were in them were to short and they replaced them with longer ones. the 2nd time less than 2 months of owning them the lens fell right out. I called and spoke with Marylin who buffed and puffed into the phone and made it quite apparent by her long sighs that she was not at all interested in helping me but she did ask me to come in the following Saturday I was told to ask for her personally which I did. She continued to be as snotty as she was during our phone encounter to the point of me eventually leaving because there was no since in arguing with her because it was getting me no where. I was just becoming more frustrated with the entire situation. I did go back later and spoke with Amber who was very kind and apparently very well trained on how to treat a customer even if she couldnt help as this was a warranty issue. She did assure me that she would have the manager call me on Monday as this was on Saturday. I didnt think it was fair that I should have to use my warranty on a pair of glasses that had broken twice in the first 2 months I owned them plus I had already been told previously that the reason they broke the first time was due to screws that were to short (manufacturer defect) and to me the lens falling out of a pair of glasses is also defect. After alot of consideration I finally called Monday and asked to speak to the manager who apparently was in a meeting at the time I spoke with Andrew who was very kind and respectful. again it was apparent that he was quite well trained on how to pacify unhappy customers. My guess is that this is hands on training due to the poor quality of their product. either way I ended up asking Andrew to just get the glasses fixed rather than deal any further with their so called warranty. Basically I just gave up..I had already dedicated to much time and energy trying to get Americas Best to make things right for me. One more thing when they put the warranty on my glasses they put it on the $25.00 pair and not the $80.00 pair.
Loved the staff, they were all so friendly! Thats the reason for the 1 star :) However, from the second I walked in there, I felt it was a marketing scam. Also, my eyes would not adjust to the progressive lenses, so I had them replaced with a straight up prescription lens, not even bifocals; the progressives cost me approximately 400.00. I was told no to a refund bc they had to go through the bother to replace them. Mission accomplished, AB, you got my money....this time. I wont go back. Also, Im a little concerned about the quality of the glasses I bought. The sunglasses were adjusted to my face upon purchase, but loosened up to original purchase size almost immediately
I had to leave after watching an employee, on the sales floor, walking around with his mask below his nose. I asked him to pull it up and he told me I need it there to breathe. Nope! Ill wait until after the pandemic ends and then go to a place where the employees have more common sense.EDIT: They reached out and asked me to return, explaining that they had addressed the issue with the employee in question. I did, and the service was excellent, the employees were very understanding of my earlier concerns, and the appointment was fantastic. Because Ive been a client of Americans Best for several years and my only complaint was just this one visit, Ive updated my review from 1-star to 5-stars based on how quickly and effectively they addressed my concerns.
Mike and Marilyn were very helpful and knowledgeable. All the staff are very friendly and organized. The place is clean and covid friendly :-).Also Dr Sullfolk the best eye doctor Ive seen in a long time. He corrected my script that was wrong from another place. So glad I went there
Went to Americas Best exactly a month ago as a returning costumer of 25 years. Spent almost 600$ and still nothing. No phone calls from them explaining the situation at all. Poor service and terrible public relations as a professional business. Will be the last 600$ they get from this family of four whom all were customers.
I originally reviewed three years ago but I just wanted to update and say I still feel the exact same way! I’m always laughing, learning, and feel truly taken care of when I’m here.Original: Staff was DELIGHTFUL and attentive, Doc was warm, caring, and jokes were top notch. Frame selection was fantastic, and honestly I wish I could just hang out here all day and it’s my day off so that’s saying something.

After purchasing 2 pair of eyeglasses at almost $1000.00 the covid pandemic hit so my glasses were sent to me by mail one pair had a chip in the lense and the other pair didn’t fit properly so they sat for weeks till the store opened back up I had the one pair sent out to fix went to pick up and the assistant put gouges in my frame so they replaced the frame then she did it again with the new frame and put a mark in my lense she tried to say It wasn’t her fault when I sat right there and watched her then she got hostile with me and try to say it was me the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced in my life this place will never get my service again

2022-08-11This store is amazing. I got in immediately, it was decently priced, and I received both pairs of glasses is less than a week! The staff was absolutely amazing and actually made my appointment fun. The doctor took time to explain my prescription and how my eyes are affected. The whole experience from beginning to end went above and beyond my expectations. Thank you for being so great! I appreciate you all!

2022-04-30I recently had an eye exam and I purchased contacts and lenses. I had a very positive experience from scheduling online, to appointment reminders, and from the beginning to checkout of my entire appointment. The receptionist (unsure of her name - Im sorry!)was quick to check me in and very friendly. I did the pre-examination portion of my visit with Sam. Sam was friendly, knowledgeable and had a very positive energy. While in the waiting room, I had the opportunity to see some exchanges between Dr. Suffolk and other staff members - all positive. The culture seemed upbeat and positive between the staff and everyone seemed genuinely happy to be there, even first thing on a Saturday. Dr. Suffolk was very experienced, sociable and welcoming. Following the exam, I finished my experience with Mike who was friendly, positive, willing to help and provide any education needed. They were also able to maximize my insurance discounts. All in all, it was a great experience. The vibe and energy at the office was positive, welcoming and I am very glad I chose this location for my new optometrist!!

2022-03-02Five-stars can seem insincere sometimes, but I genuinely cant think of a reason not to give Dr. Suffolk and his team full marks.Dr. Suffolk and his team provided me the best eye-doctor experience Ive had in over a decade.The crew were knowledgeable, friendly, and sincerely helpful.Dr. Suffolk explained the exam in an accessible, practical way to help me get the most accurate prescription. For example: this was the first time Ive been told dont try too hard to read this right now, or your glasses might end up too weak. Makes sense!When selecting new glasses frames, there were several red plastic bins for storing any frames that you tried on but didnt like. Frames in the red bins would be sanitized before being returned to the rack. I definitely appreciate the extra effort here.Thanks, yall!

2022-07-24I Have been to several America’s Best stores in my life. The price is what originally drew me in. I’ve never had a bad experience or nothing to write an outstanding review until now. I have been going to the location in Liverpool, NY for about a year, since they opened and can with all honesty say I have had an amazing experience from every employee from receptionist to Dr. Suffolk to Mike R. and Dave and all the people who helped me find the perfect frames. I’ve purchased 2 new glasses with exam, replaced 2 lenses in old frames with new prescription and 1 pair of sunglasses in the last month. I was greeted as soon as I walked in the door, the lady who did the pretesting was friendly and kind, Dr. Suffolk was so patient and didn’t rush me through the exam, then a lady without me having to ask, helped me pick out frames. I was then retrieved from the waiting room after 5 minutes by Mike R. who was very professional, fitted my frames and made the final step of my visit fun and worthwhile. I have seen several bad reviews for this company but I encourage you to try this location. You will not be disappointed. In case you are sceptical, I have never met anyone or anyone related to these employees and have no reason to fake a review. Joyce G.

2022-07-22From the moment I walked in the staff was friendly and helpful. Ash helped answer all my questions and went above and beyond in helping me find a frame I loved. Dr. Suffolk was very pleasant and funny as well as Samm. They made the exam experience so personable! I sat with Mike at the end that talked to me about all my options and explained things in ways I could actually understand without feeling talked down to.This place gives you the best bang for your buck too. Good luck getting a pair of glasses with all the bells and whistles for cheaper elsewhere. Im so excited to get my glasses!Thank you store 5430! Ill be back. For. Sure.

2022-01-16From the moment I walked into this place the staff were super pleasant. Everyone was helpful and I was greeted immediately and I was given a bin with instructions to begin picking out frames I liked to place in there and ones I did not like to be placed in the red baskets so they could disinfect( very awesome).After picking out my frames I was instructed to go wait in the waiting area and before I could sit down I was asked to go in for pre-testing. She walked me through each test and offered me options on which test I wanted as I was paying out of pocket(there was no pressure to purchase these add ons)I waited back in the waiting area maybe five minutes before the doctor came to get me for my exam. He reviewed the images they had taken of my eyes, was very friendly, and even opened the door for me when I completed my exam.Mike assisted me with getting my glasses set up and helped me pick other frames that were more in my price range(they have styles for every budget)! He was super knowledgeable and sweet and he genuinely wanted me to have glasses I was comfortable with and explained any questions I had.Overall, My experience was great! They really have it down with friendly customer service! I was blown away because I feel now days we need more kindness and it’s rare to have good experiences like this. The place was very clean, staff was friendly and knowledgeable, & they paid attention to what I wanted as the customer!I found my new eye glass place that I will be returning for future exams! Plus they offer a 1 year warranty against damage to frames or lenses!

2022-05-05Stopped in to pick up contacts. The employees were very friendly as usual and the guy that helped us extremely friendly and helpful! We only made it to the store 10 minutes before they were closing as we had to drive from Auburn and we had to get a prescription transferred over from a different store location. Everyone was so friendly and really great about helping us and they went above and beyond in the great customer service department!

2022-05-29This is the first time ive ever had fun at a doctors office. The staff were all professional and pleasant. The Doctor was attentive and courteous. I was shown how to save time and money as well. A true 5 star experience. A speacial shout out for staff member Michael who went above and beyond the call of duty.

2022-07-21I’ve gotten my glasses there multiple times and have sent multiple friends and family members there, we’ve all had great experiences. Mike is usually the person who I see there most often, and they have great professionalism and make it a very easy process.
