Scheduled an appointment for new glasses and contacts. I was asked to complete paperwork to update my information via email, which I did. Once I arrived I was told they don’t have access to the information and to hand write the forms in person again. I was told I’d be contacted once my order came in. It has been over two weeks so I called to check on the status of my order and was told they didn’t have any updated contact information for me and the phone number they had listed was not valid. My information was never updated and the employee I spoke to today was very rude saying it was my fault for not updating my information. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICEI needed a follow up examine as my prescription supposedly changed but I am not seeing clearly since the doctor changed my prescription. The person answering the phone is extremely rude and argued with me telling me I have to wait another two weeks for a follow up appointment even though there are over 50 appointments available throughout this week. This place doesn’t know what they are doing. GO TO ANOTHER LOCATION AND SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE!!!!!America’s Best Corporate replied to this asking me to email them and resolve the problem. I emailed the same day and never heard back. Clearly poor customer service starts at the top. Update 4/22 never heard back from corporate. This location is a horrible representation and should be closed.
The front end employees, Taylor, Brian and Elyse were so friendly and the optometrist, Dr. Alex was very competent, thorough and friendly. The prices were amazing, too!
I wasnt given alot of opportunity to look around at frames. I had chosen 2 different ones before exam. After exam the young lady that waited on me said they were good enough. She seemed to be rushing to get me over with. She said it would be a week or so and I would be contacted to pick them up. After two weeks and two days of no answer at the store I got thru today to be told they were in and have been for a couple of days. For the amount of money you spend youd think they would care more. Very disappointed.
Would not recommend. Put in an appointment online.. it asked for other considerations. I noted my daughter had autism. They booked back to back appointments with one person doing the exams, so obviously I could tell he did not have the time to wait for my daughters anxieties to subside.. Then to find out it was a virtual doctor.. and technical difficulties connecting with said virtual doctor.. I didnt know our insurancewas not accepted until I got there.. lesson learned dont give places chance simply based on the ease of online booking.. not disappointed with the staff,disappointed with corporate and a process built on money making not their patients..
Unless you want to be frustrated - go elsewhere!! Simple eyeglass purchase repeated mistakes which required us to return to the store, and then wait while they sent the glasses back to make it right - but its still not right months later. Inexperienced technicians, inconsistent management. I have never encountered such incompetence in 40 years of purchasing eyeglasses and contacts!
DO NOT GO HERE FOR A DMV EYE EXAM. First off, they charge $50 for a dmv eye exam... Price chopper/market 32 will do the same exam for $10... The bigger issue is THEY DO NO ELECTRONICALLY SEND YOUR RESULTS TO DMV. For $50, you get to wait a day or more for your results that they CANNOT EMAIL TO YOU(???), so you get to go pick up your results yourself and then either SNAIL MAIL your results to DMV or schedule an appointment with DMV (GOOD LUCK LOL) to drop them off... In our current age with COVID still being a concern, its egregious that this practice wants you to do all this running around when you can legit one stop shop at Price Chopper for 20% of the price AND they send your results to DMV for you. To add insult to injury, this place is the FIRST on the list when searching zip code 12304. Im sure many people have been taken advantage of by this horrible practice, they operate as if its still 1991. Steer clear of these bandits.
I dont know about other branches but the staff here is amazing the guy that did my pre exam (I wish I could remember his name) was down to earth and funny. The doctor who did my exam was so nice and the lady who fit me for my glasses (I think her name was Amanda) was just fantastic the Mohawk Commons Americas Best is a great place to go

Great service and professionslism great price.
Walked in yesterday without an appointment. They took us right in, completed my husbands exams and had him measured for his new glasses within an hour. New glasses will be available in 7- 10 days. Very thorough, efficient, and fast. All the staff were very nice, and thoughtful. It was a great experience.

2022-08-05I dont normally take the time to write review, I been wearing glasses for over 25 years. Ive had alot of eye exams. After my very first visit to Americas best at Mohawk commons, Ive decided this would be the place Ill stick with . They took their time and explained everything to me. The eye doctor, she seems young but very intelligent. She was very thorough. She very slowly in simply words explained everything. Even the staff in front was very helpful. I already recommended them to alot friends and family.

2022-04-19Amazing experience throughout. From the receptionist, doctor, technicians. All amazing. No waiting. Glasses came in a week. Everyone is very knowledgeable and kind. And when I went in for an adjustment they remembered me by name and it was my first time going to Americas Best. From my experience they really are the best! AND I paid about $200 less than I did with visionworks for my glasses. What else can I ask for???

2022-02-08Everyone was super helpful. My daughter broke her glasses and is VERY reliant on her glasses to see. The woman who repaired them really went above and beyond to make the repair. I have been to several vision works and this is by far the best experience my family and I have had. *we have medicaid and we were still treated with kindness and respect.

2022-03-22I received excellent care at the Schenectady Americas Best. Dr. Alex was extremely kind and patient with me. She was wonderful to work with and very knowledgeable. The staff was also very efficient and professional. I will definitely be returning next year! Good job all around

2022-07-16Bought glasses afyer having an examination here. My eyesight is really bad, so glasses are vital to me. They dont listen to you and brush off your concerns. First glasses gave me a terrible headache and was twice as thick as old ones despite buying the thinnest they have. They changed it but my vision is still bad and i keep getting headaches. I paid over $100+ AFTER INSURANCE. I recommend you go somewhere else

2022-07-06I went in for 2 pair deal. They messed up my prescription, then was told I needed to come out of pocket to fix it. I asked for a refund immediately and was shorted over $60 due to having to pay eye exam. Edit: corporate contacted me and is refunding the remainder. The stores are told to withhold from returning the fee for an eye exam per corporate.

2022-06-18First time ever going here. Very organized and quick about everything. Also, the guy helping me figure out my insurance coverage was awesome! Its been awhile since Ive seen someone actually take time like that. ✌

2021-12-28The front desk ladies were amazing, really good customer service. But the ophthalmologist was terrible I was trying to explain how I have astigmatism in one eye only and I wanted glasses with a prescribibtion with less strength so I don’t see double in the 20 min consultation he did not say a word to me, did not heard a word I say . He totally ignored me and gave me what ever he wanted and those 2 glasses ended in the garbage. I would NOT recommend it

2022-02-03The doctor that examined my eyes was wonderful but the rest of your staff were the rudest, unhelpful people ever, especially the young male that I checked out with. I literally didnt even use my benefits to order my contacts because I couldnt even deal with unenthusiastic attitude. I left 15% off the table and ordered my contacts elsewhere
