Ameritania at Times Square in New York
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was perfect for us. The room was a clean space to sleep and store our belongings. My wife booked through Expedia or something and so were put into one of those tiny rooms they save for discount websites. The shower was hands down the best part of our room.
We booked a 4 night stay so we could come back home and spend time in the city before Christmas. Everything was great! The room was clean, the view was perfect and the beds and pillows are more comfortable than some of the 5 star resorts we stay at, with that said we slept wonderfully! Staff was helpful and friendly. This will definitely be our getaway spot. The prices are really reasonable and the hotel is accessible. We wanted to be in a central location, and Ameritania was just that 👍🏻
My husband and I stayed here 4 nights on our trip to NYC after Thanksgiving. Our main goal was to see shows, so the Ameritania was excellently located in order to accomplish that. All of Midtown and Hells Kitchen are within walking distance, and there is a subway station right around the corner. The staff were generally friendly and helpful, although it did take a surprisingly long time to get things like extra towels or pillows. They were a great help in printing some documents I needed while I was working remotely and the holding of luggage on our last day was really handy! The accommodations were very nice, and surprisingly spacious for a hotel in Midtown, especially at the rates we paid. The only major complaint we had was that the elevators were extremely slow, and sometimes could take up to 4-5 minutes to arrive if it was a busy time of day.Overall, this hotel is an excellent spot for an easy, hassle-free stay. While it might be light on amenities, the location and relative affordability make up for any shortcomings in other areas.
I selected this hotel due to the proximity to the Theater District.Pros: location, location, location. 5 minute walk to the theaters, MoMA, central park, and Times Square. Close to the subway. Lots of places to eat close by. The room was clean, the bathroom nice and updated, the bed was comfy. The staff were super helpful and kind. We arrived at 9am and they held our luggage for us until later in the day when we could check in. They set up a cab ride for us back to the airport at the end of the week. We were always greeted with a smile and a hello. The lobby is very modern and fun.Cons: there are no amenities. I am assuming a lot of this is due to COVID but just be aware. We visited March 2022 and there was no restaurant, gym, etc. We were in room 714 and the view was a wall and a roof. We could hear EVERYTHING. The cleaning closet was across the hall and so all day you heard the door open and shut, trash bags, etc. We could hear the comedy show each evening if we were in the room when it was on (8-10pm ish) and if anyone was talking in the hallway we could hear it...with the door shut and earplugs in I could make out the words clearly. Maybe not all the rooms are like this? But I definitely would request a quiet room next time.Overall I was very pleased. For the price you really cant beat it. The location was most important because I knew I didnt want to have to try and rent a car or drive in the city. Second most important for me is cleanliness and the room was spotless. We definitely will consider staying here again!!
Overall, not a bad experience. Some positive things were the staff was very friendly and helpful, and it was in a convenient location. However, a little pricey for what you actually get. I felt like the room wasnt the cleanest, found dirty underwear under our bed that someone missed when cleaning and the mini fridge had some mold in it.
First off, the location is a FIVE. It is so near Times Square that you can see the lights. However, there are some things that we have grown to expect at any hotel. I shouldn’t have to ask to clean our room, give us towels, and give us toilet paper. They told us at check in that they didn’t clean every day but every other day. So when it came to getting our room clean, they told us that we needed to tell them that we were leaving for the day. Seriously? We came back tired and had to call to get towels and toilet paper. We still have a couple of days left.
Really impressed by this hotel! Stayed here both at the beginning and end of our USA holiday. Its basically on Broadway (entrance is actually round the corner on West 54th but a lot of rooms look out onto Broadway) and it perfect distance to both Time Square and Central Park. Beds are incredibly comfortable and rooms and clean and modern! Some rooms of the same rate are a lot smaller than others which is something to bare in mind if you have a disability or need extra space. At the start of our trip, we had 2 double rooms booked. My dads room was a good size for a standard double and had a view onto W 54th but mine and my partners room was very very tight which was a bit tricky as my partner is on crutches and couldnt get down the side of the bed. We also had bags to climb over as there wasnt really space to put them but we were only the 2 nights so didnt mind too much. At the end of our holiday we had 2 Queen rooms booked and both these were spacious and had good views. Staff are lovely and really helpful! There isnt a restaurant t the hotel but you can order in room service by scanning a QR code in the room or there are many many restaurants super close by. Recommend Applejacks for breakfast!
An excellent hotel located within 8 blocks of all the big theatres in Times Square. Rooms are NYC sized but its not too noisy, especially for being so close to the action. Pretty A Mangier, Starbucks, and Duane Reade are all within a block and you cant ask for much else!
Staff were friendly and helpful. Maintenace seems to be an issue here. There was only one elevator working and it took forever to get up to the room and get back down to the lobby. It pretty much stops at every floor due to the amount of guests trying to get up and down. 3 elevators in total. 1 out of order, 2nd stopped working 2hrs into our stay. So only the 3rd was working. The room was very small and bathroom tiny. Also the bathroom not clean. Hair from other guests all of the place. I will say, the bed was very comfortable though, but I believe I was being bitten by something. Not sure if bed bugs or not. It was a great location though! Central to everything and again, very helpful staff.
Interior is old and dirty everywhere. Always noisy. Staff are not at all professionally trained: Cheap, angry, arrogant. And to top it off, this hotel do not have any kind of security. Everybody can reach to rooms from street. You can easily find normal hotels in this area with more reasonable prince level.
Some younger staffs are friendly, but seniors are arrogant always and not at all trained professionally. They didnt show any kind of hospitality to us during our one-week stay. Dont expect you are warmly welcomed at front desk.Wi-Fi system is very old and often down. Minimum amenities. Except its location, this hotel will not add any good things to your stay.
Horrible customer service on top of a horrible stay.My coworker and I stayed 3 nights at this hotel for a work conference back in October. During our stay as we were getting ready to head out to our meetings for the day the power randomly went out. No power, no water, no heat, nothing. We waited awhile as we were a few floors up and there were zero lights. Next thing we know there’s sirens and firetrucks rushing to our hotel and we were scared for what was going on and started packing our things and preparing to run out of the building. The hotel had then announced that the power had gone out and to stay in our rooms. From 8am-4pm we had zero power and were told to stay in our rooms. We had to cancel our meetings due to not having water, or power and we’re stranded in our room. When we checked out we had discussed with the front desk about getting the day that the power went out comped or taken off the bill and the front desk assured us we would not be getting charged and that she would email my co-worker the receipt. After my friend checked her emails after we had left to fly back home and she didn’t have a email from them she contacted the hotel in which they told us they never told us that and that we were making things up. Horrible customer service, front desk staff was never there at night. Outdated and not at all worth the price or hassle to stay there. Never again, will not recommend this place to anyone.
Do NOT choose this hotel if you care for your safety. You can find many other normal hotels in this area, at this price range.1) Extremely poor security. During our stay, a crime suspect runs into the hotel and the NYPD blocked out the whole facility for a few hours. The hotel staff did not make any responsible announcements. Everybody can easily reach all floors because nobody standing at the entrance and the room-key system at the elevator is broken. There are tons of cheap hotels in Manhattan, but this is the worst.2) Incredibly frustrated staff. A supervisor staff at the front desk refused to fix our schedule and just said, Do it by yourself on Expedia, without watching us, counting the bills. During our two-week stay, he did not show any sign of hospitality or any traits of professional training. Such a cheap macho cannot exist in all other normal hotels.3) Wi-Fi system is always down or extremely hard to connect. Noisy air-conditioner, filthy floor. You cannot work in the room.
We spent 14 days here. Category: 1 KING BED DELUXE. We loved it. Lots of space and street view. The staff was always polite and happy to help. The room was cleaned every 3 days. And of course the location is awesome - right next to times square. Would come again.(btw: who needs breakfast in the hotel? Sooo many options in the area!)
Everone was super nice, especially Jeff. When my husband and I needed a taxi he got one for us right away. My husband and I stayed here for 2 days and it was the best experience ever. We love NYC and it was everything we could have hoped for. I give the hotel 10 stars. We will definitely stay here every time we come to NY. ANGELOS Pizza was delicious for pizza and The Smith had delicious steaks. Cant wait to come back.
Positive: Location was fantastic. Close to attractions, Broadway theaters, and restaurants. Negative: Room key had issues multiple times. We got locked out of our room on the second day, which was a great inconvenience and made us miss our dinner reservations. Room could have been cleaner.
Pathetic, frustrated staff do not pay any attention to the security. During my stay, a suspect escaped into the hotel and police closed the whole building. No any staff watch the entrance, room-key security of the elevators are broken. A typical spoiled hotel in New York City.
EXCELLENT LOCATION BUT...Front desk was unavailable throughout my entire weekend stay, regardless of time of day. Called multiple times and phone was either busy or kept ringing with no answer. It shouldnt take 20+ redials to pick up the phone, and even then there was no answer. Also I think the double rooms are overly priced considering its like living in a tight efficiency apartment. This might suit 2 people but definitely not a family of 4 because it was EXTREMELY cramped!!! Overall, I loved the location because everything is within walking distance including multiple subway platforms.
We stayed at This hotel in the month of November( before thanks giving) and I must say the hotel room and the bathroom were very clean. I am deeply disappointed because being a 3 star they would not have an electric kettle or tea/coffee bags in the room. This is basic. When I checked at the reception if they don’t have electric kettles at the the room they said they never had any. I requested if we could have one .. they simple refused. So if you are someone who likes to rest in the room and make their own tea/coffee .. you don’t have that comfort at this hotel…The location was good.. Main point of Times Square was 5 mins walking..I would like to thank Majid from the reception for his hospitality.
Everything has been smooth from check in, to check out and everything in between. Its at a perfect location, walking distance from Rockefeller center, Central park and Time Square! The gentleman at the hotel, Jeff, he was great with assisting us! Thanks for everything!
Positive: Excellent location for visiting Broadway and Times Square. Very quiet, despite the natural noises of Manhattan. Decent mini-fridge. (No Microwave) Very tall walk-in shower! Friendly staff. Negative: Because of Covid-19 protocols guests have to directly ask for basic thinks. Need ice? Call front desk. Want turndown service that day? Call front desk. Want fresh towels or trash pick-up? Call front desk. Also, toilet area needs more leg room.
We travel a lot. I have not come across a hotel with such poor service for a long time .... what to start with? That nothing worked properly? They do not even change towels in the rooms? That we asked three times to fix the safe? That the elevators didnt work-and no emergency light, that they do not answer the phone?
Where do I start with this hotel….the customer service, excluding the door people and one nice man at the front desk (evening shift) - awful. The ladies at the front desk were too busy socializing/gossiping amongst themselves to do their job. The room service, lobby bar and lounge: non-existent. Now…if this hotel had been honest and said these services weren’t available due to Covid and adjusted their rates accordingly: understandable, but they did not. The elevator: we as guest celebrated when two of the three actually worked. Overall: RUN, do not walk, RUN from this hotel. The worst New York stay experience by far, and I’ve had many. STAY AT HILTON. Actually get what you pay for. Please heed this warning. This place is not worth $100 a night. A disgrace.
I’ve stayed in NYC many times so I know what to expect when it comes to these hotels…. That being saidPros:1. It was cleanCons:1. 19.99 (residence fee)… what on earth is that? I thought the residence fee was what I paid for the room reservation?? I guess not. I’ve paid “resort fees” before which I’ve been okay with because in that case I’m paying for a pool/beach/spa/etc. what did I pay for with the residence fee? Nothing, just a money maker for the ameritania hotel.2. Today instead of the $100 incidental charge falling off my credit card (keep in mind this trip was for my fiancé and I to take photos. We took perfect care of the room)…. A $200.80 charge was posted to my credit card! I will be calling to get this sorted out and if they refuse I will dispute through my credit card company.3. It is a very old building and you can tell it is old. For renovations corners were cut, and it’s obvious corners were cut4. Room was the smallest I’ve even seen5. No flat sheet. You get the fitted sheet, a duvet cover (comforter inside), and another blanket that I wouldn’t dare touch regardless of where we were staying6. Could hear hallway noise very easily (luckily we had good neighbors)
Not a kid friendly place. Bathroom seems pretentious and not very convenient. No bath, which can be key for young children. The thermostat and or cooling unit did not work properly, which is no big deal if you like sleeping in a 75 degree room. Engineering took a look, moved a curtain, said that should solve it - it didn´t.Also, in our room there was a huge mirror size of a queen mattress leaning up against wall. Dangerous in that it couldve tipped and squished a kid. Especially inconvenient was the huge size of it in a tiny room - it took way too much space. We kept knocking into it or were worried it was going to crush us. Why such a huge mirror? Again - it seems a bit pretentious - not good for kids.Great date-in-NYC kind of hotel I guess though.
Stayed 2 nights. Room was very tiny but the shower was fabulous and the bed comfortable. Location is convenient. We were allowed to check in early and to leave our bags at the hotel after checking out. Lots of rain during our trip so we ate at The Iguana ( next door to the hotel) and the food was delicious.
Id avoid this place. We showed up, did a pre check-in, then got our keys at the proper check-in. Our keycards didnt work so we went back downstairs, got it fixed, unlocked the door...and walked in on another couple in bed.Luckily it was a short stay for us, we were worried about people being able to waltz into our room at any point while we were out with all of our belongings up for the taking. The room itself was decent. The bed was beyond awful but the bathroom was nice. The front desk kept blaming us getting locked out of our room (which happened 3 more times in 2 days) on us keeping our keys in our pockets
Very small room but comfortable, clogged bathroom sink, another guest card that got confused worked and opened my room door in the middle of the night and to top it off there was a problem during my stay and we had no electricity and water for approximately 7 hours. Until then ok, problems happen, but the hotel not have emergency light is inadmissible, i was on the eighth floor, totally in the dark.
Positive: Location Negative: The shower doesnt have a curtain or glass door, so water sprayed out. The doorman kept asking us to take taxi instead of Uber, he said Uber would charge more than its initial price. The Uber driver said the taxi driver must have paid the doorman.
Man.. When I got in .. Sarah 💕who works the front desk was a gen 💎. Very experienced with guiding me with everything I needed to know about my stay. She really has a warm loving personality and she made me feel like I was home. Extremely professional and she wears this place proudly. Having Sarah sign me in made my experience in nyc delightful. She deserves a raise. The super attendant with the strong NY accent who came up to help me with my AC was nice and funny as well. I forgot his name 🤦♀️Cant wait to visit again. Thank you SARAH!!💕💕💕💕💕💕
We stayed here for a couple nights while visiting Manhattan to see The late show. If youve come to town to see Stephen Colbert, this has got to be the most convenient hotel in the city. Nicely decorated, and very nice cold AC which was great for the heat wave while we were here. Friendly staff and theres even someone to open the door for you!
Very conveniently located between Times Square and central park right next to the Ed Sullivan theater. Clean/large rooms and amazing staff! I was a few hours early and requested a street view room because it was my moms first time in NYC. Majid made everything happen with a smile on his face! (I could see it even through his mask :)) He and Sergiy are very professional and accommodating and will do anything to make sure you are comfortable and have everything you need. I don’t usually leave reviews but I specifically asked them for their names because great service is so hard to come by these days and they deserve to be recognized. I would definitely stay here again.
Our check-in was supposed to be at 3pm but we arrived at 10am and the great and awesome receptionist in the persons or Sarah and Janet made it possible for me to check-in at 10am. Not only was my stay and activities met, the overall staff from the door person to the angelic receptionists were very welcoming and accommodating to all our request.
The good Location, Location, location. Friendly and helpful staff. The bad: Rooms are dinghy and in ill repair. Rooms are cleaned every few days because of covid. Fine if we were told that at check in but after being out and about all day and coming back to find an un-maid bed and no tp, is disappointing.
The staff was very friendly and they really show interest in making you feel welcome and appreciated as a customer. As soon as we got there, the doorman was helping us to get settled, Sufia, at the front desk was amazing as well.We were able to check in earlier (11 am) and they even upgraded our room. We requested a high floor and it was provided to us without hesitation. The room was really comfortable and the bathroom and shower were awesome. The location is great.I will definitely stay here again!
Me and my fiancee stayed at this hotel for 8 nights in January 2020 and thoroughly enjoyed it. The location is perfect, 5/10 min walk to Times Square, the bottom of Central Park and many other main attractions as well as being close to various subway lines. Our room was nice, relatively small but it had everything we needed especially for a holiday where we werent in the room too often. It was modern, clean and had most essentials we needed such as an iron & board and a safe. The only thing that wasnt included was a kettle for the room which would have been nice. The cleaning service came every day giving new sheets, towels and bottles of water. The hotel also offered some tea/coffee and snacks between 4pm-6pm which were well received after a busy day. Great base for our first trip to New York :)
My wife and I just went here for our Christmas break. The room was very clean and the bathroom was awesome. It was an open concept with no internal walls with different shower streams...definitely the best part of the room. The staff went above and beyond to be helpful as well. I would definitely recommend this place. Just remember that the rooms will be small, wherever you go in Manhattan.
This hotel is in a great location. The staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are spotlessly clean and comfortable. The beds are of a superior standard with quality bed linen and the ensuite facilities are modern with a powerful shower a daily supply of toiletries and the fluffiest most sumptuous towels.Highly recommended
We spent 4 nights at The Ameritania in Mid December. The room itself, was small, but comfortable, clean, and was far enough away from busy traffic, resulting in an undisturbed sleep. The staff were super helpful, especially, Jeff. In fact, Jeff was awesome. He gave us some real good tips!!!The hotel is ideally situated. We will definitely be back.
I do not recommend staying at this hotel. We booked a room there for 3 nights during Christmas and were disappointed the moment we walked into the lobby. The pictures on Expedia looked NOTHING like the room. The fabric on the headboard was torn and peeling away, the walls were poorly patched to hide water stains and the ac/heat did not work well at all. The overall appearance of the property was that of a roadside motel. The one positive was the friendliness of the staff; all very nice and willing to help. I would highly recommend spending a few bucks more and go somewhere else.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our room was clean and quiet. There were three elevators and a small breakast. The location was perfect and made for a quick and easy walk to view the parade. We fell in love with the family that owned a nearby restaurant and ate there several times. I would recommend this hotel.
Nice hotel, staff behind the reception are friendly and helpful. Rooms are small but we expected that for NYC. Bed was very comfy and room was clean. Only downfall was the room tax and being told water in the room was complimentary, along with the tea and coffee in the morning! We were also told that we had a complimentary room upgrade but on looking the room we had was the one we booked. Most of the Bell Boys were friendly and helpful however one was a bit rude which hacked us off on the last day.
Don’t bother trying to check in earlier than 3p. We arrived at 2:30p and found other families lounging and waiting to do the same. But this place is beautifully decorated, clean and has security. We had a room with a king bed. It had a small desk, two windows (that had a view of the brick building two feet away lol), a large walk-in closet with a safe and a very nice bathroom with toiletries (you might have to ask for more of what you need - we did, anyway). My husband was really disappointed about the lack of a view. I wasn’t surprised. I guess we’ll know to ask in advance next time. But we loved having coffee, tea and milk in the front lobby until 10a. Also, iced water was always available.Over all, we would absolutely consider staying her again.
We are visiting New York for the 1st time and enjoyed our stay. The staff are great and the rooms are well kept. The hotel is uniquely designed and does not seem to compromise with their staff. I would say that the closets are a bit small and the fact they do not have a microwave available to guest is inconvenient. However, you will be staying in a safe part of town and in the middle of the entertainment area of time square. In all, this is a 4.2 and ranks high when you compare the smell other hotel produce. This is definitely for tourists and business/professionals.
I am often always in the city for my work, this time I decided to take a not so formal hotel and something else that would serve to rest and enjoy a weekend, the hotel definitely met all my expectations, in quality of service, cleanliness and attention from the staff, its location allows you to have easy access to landmarks in the city without a doubt this will always be my hotel in NY when it comes to wanting a weekend of rest
Highly recommend. Location perfect, a short walk from Times Square, Central Park and 5th Avenue. Room big and lovely decorated, very clean and comfortable. Staff couldnt do enough for you. Tea, coffee, ice water in the lobby. In the afternoon complimentary snacks available, would definitely return to this hotel.
I cant say I was impressed. They wouldnt check me in without a credit card - an assumption that everyone has one - though my bills were being paid by the sponsoring company. Then my room wasnt ready until 3pm - I arrived at 9.00am after a 16 hour transatlantic flight exhausted and sweaty. The hotel was also old. Some cute decor but nothing to write home about. For that price tag I expected better :( Beds were super comfy though...
I stayed for 4 nights over Thanksgiving holidays with a tour group of 45 or so people. My review is mine only, not for the group. I thought the hotel was very nice, clean, ideally located to Central Park, Broadway shows and Times Square. Over the holidays, the complimentary hot chocolate & ice cold water in lobby was greatly appreciated when returning from Macys Thanksgiving Day parade & subsequent outings during my stay. Rooms were very nice, clean & the beds were so comfortable. Front desk staff were always helpful and friendly. Breakfast each morning was very delicious and included lots of choices. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and plan to stay here again when I visit NYC. I will highly recommend your establishment to all my friends too. Thanks for making my first trip to New York City so memorable.
Location was good and easy to find. It was within Times Square area and opposite it was Marriott Residence Hotel. I arrived earlier than the check-in but was allowed to check-in slightly earlier and my room was upgraded to a double single bed for free because my sister traveled with me. I would like to commend Rob for being extremely accommodating! The hotel was extremely clean and lovely. Absolutely loved the fact that there’s a water dispenser opposite the elevators at the Lobby area so you could quench your thirst. Love the carpet of the room so much! The stay was really fantastic. Would definitely return for a second stay! Highly recommended!
A group of us booking at least two rooms stayed here some years ago now. We had come in from quite far out of town and arrived late, so we had brought with us some non disposable food containers and cutlery with food items. Next day the room service threw everything out; our food containers and cutlery thinking they were disposable items. We brought this to the attention of the front desk and received no apology. We felt the matter was not resolved to our satisfaction and we never stayed here again, although the rooms which were smallish were not bad and the prices were reasonable for the area. When you have a hotel guest, it is important for the complete customer experience to be positive, not just some of it.
Right next to the heart of Times Square, this hotel location and accomodations are fantastic. Every staff member was so friendly, room was clean, and the complimentary snacks from 4-6 each day were appreciated. I would recommend this hotel for sure. Rooms with a view of the skyline sell out first so be sure to ask.
Everything was perfect. Kind staff, when we arrived a very nice porter brought our baggages to our room and gave us some useful hints to go through the first days. We got a high floor room that was just perfect, a king size room clean, well organized, even the bathroom was nice! We felt home. The only flaw was maybe the treatment by the reception guy on today, he was not as kind as the rest of the staff, a bit annoying. Thank you Ameritania!! Hope to see you soon.
We just checked in today at 3pm. Very friendly staff to greet you at the front door and at the counter. They quickly checked us in and we headed up to our room. Wow! We are staying in a king room and it is VERY spacious. The bed is in one room with nightstands, three chairs and a dresser. Then there is the entry room with a couch bed, chair, desk, another small dresser, and a closet!! Tons of room for two. The bathroom is a decent size too. No complaints here and I would definitely recommend this hotel, which is in a perfect location to walk wherever you want to go.
Check in was delayed because the computer system was down but was able to check in a little early. Front desk was nice. Location is great. Room was small as expected in NYC but was clean. TV didnt work well so wasnt able to watch TV without it freezing. Reported to front desk but issue was not resolved. Dont like showerhead from ceiling. Not everyone wants to get their hair wet when showering but personal preference. Would give 3.5 stars
The staff here were very kind, but wow this was the smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in. Thank goodness I was traveling solo and booked solid all day because I cant imagine spending any time more than sleeping in this room. Even getting ready felt claustrophobic. That said, the quality of the room itself was great and the location was perfect for my needs.
It’s a shame because I should be writing a 5 star review, having thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and had been extremely happy with the location and services provided. HOWEVER, having been charged 95 dollars for a security deposit, with a promise of the money being returned after leaving the hotel, over one month later I have still received no refund. Even when trying to email them and find out why that is the case, I get no response! Wasted money trying to call them from overseas on the phone and got 0 explanation or help in resolving the situation
Great family vacation experience. We stayed here for four nights with a family a four while seeing the sights in Manhattan before sailing on our Disney cruise. The room was clean and updated and the staff was very responsive whenever we needed anything (like extra towels). Location is phenomenal as you can walk up and down Broadway and quickly get to any subway station you might need. Also has a 99 Cent Pizza location around the corner which we used twice for an economical dinner that everyone ate. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.
This has become my go to hotel in New York City I travel there frequently for work and I try not to stay anywhere else if I dont have to.I have not had a bad experience to date. Rooms are always specious extremely clean and staff is always courteous and willing to answer any questions that I have. They will even store your bags while you are out and about after check out so you can come back and pick them up. This is probably one of the most underrated hotels in New York City.
We stayed here 2 years ago in March for 1 night and I have yet to write a review. The room is small, BUT it packs a punch in style, and it is really clean. Plus the location cant be beat. The lobby has a cozy fireplace and the front desk was amazing. Plus for $129, it was a steal!
My experience. PRO: a very good location. Clean room. Morning complimentary coffee and tea. Friendly helpful staff. CONTRA: old facility. Soft mattress. No breakfast. For 3 days of stay (16-19 of Nov), I pay 773,50$. All local taxes pop up in the last moment, be careful.
I would like to congratulate the honesty of the employees, especially General Manager Jean-Francois Tremblay !!During my stay, I lost my wallet with passport, money and credit card in the hotel. It was found by the team and returned to me without any loss.In addition, room with excellent structure, clean, cozy. Helpful and cordial staff.Excellent Wi-Fi!I recommend and would stay again here.
The hotel is very modern and clean. Very reasonably priced. The rooms are very tiny, but its NYC, so thats to be expected. The bed was amazingly soft. I did not want to get out of it in the morning. They have all of the basic amenties that you would need. It is in a great location. Everything is within walking distance, or the subway stations are very close by. I would stay there again and I would recommend it.
We stayed with a large group of friends for a few nights in January and had a great time! The staff were very welcoming and could not do enough for us. Jeff, the doormen, in particular was always ready to help with cabs, places to eat and he even looked after our luggage on our last day. The lobby and bar area was also very nice, with comfy seats and even a fire! The barman also does a nice line in Margaritas too! Highly recommended! cant wait to go back!Room Tip: Pick rooms on a higher floor as Broadway is right outside!
Our deluxe king room was very spacious with a giant full length mirror inside, which is rare in New York City. We didnt need much room service so didnt deal with the service employees that much. Location is perfect, close to everything (shopping, Columbus circle, grocery shopping, Central Park, Rockefeller center, etc) no real complaint really, we got a good deal on the room rate too so overall a very positive experience. Would def stay again
Worst Experience Ever. I lost my watch in the hotel room and workers there shows little empathy and kept questioning me if I lost it outside of the hotel. I wouldnt make this kind of accuse if Im not sure I lost it inside the room. I removed my watch before I went to bed and didnt wear it the next day. So I couldnt lost it else where.I called the police but police were really slow and I would have been waiting there whole day if I insist on investigation. Eventually I chose to just finish my last day of trip and forget about my watch.I left my number and email to the hotel manager at front desk, and specifically asked her I want a follow up from their laundry company to see if they have it. Shes attitude was fine, said she is gonna reported it to the management level. But no one contacted me til today, not even an email. I doubt if she called the laundry or reported to the management. If she did, things are handled unprofessionally by the hotel. It was not a crazy expensive watch, maybe worth 1000 dollar or so, but it was a gift from my dad and Im really mad about it.
I had a pleasant stay here, with only a few nitpicks. Ill start with the good stuff first. The area the hotel is located in is great for anyone who wants to travel to Times Square. Its also right next to where Stephen Colbert does his shows, so thats an added bonus. My fiance and I tend to go through the Times Square area whenever we visit, so the area was perfect for us. We were also wanting to go through Central Park, which is close by as well. Our room was clean and comfortable, and everything like our TV and shower worked well. For any couples, they also include a Lovers Kit in your room. Its an added $25 to your bill, but if youre really in the mood, then go for it.Now onto my nitpicks. I know hotel rooms in New York can be small, but this was the smallest room weve ever stayed in. We nearly tripped over the bed upon walking in, since it was that close to the door. Speaking of doors, if you dont have yours locked, itll sort of rattle whenever someone closes a door outside. The first time it happened, I thought someone was trying to come in. Theyre also kind of thin, so they dont block out much noise in the hall. There were people slamming doors despite it being late at night. I was startled awake multiple times because the sound was that loud. We had housekeeping knock twice in the morning, despite us saying the room was occupied. They even tried to come in, but we had the door locked. Not the best way to be woken up. I also found a dead bug on our floor towel in the bathroom. Im not sure what kind of bug it is. My fiance doesnt think its a bed bug, but it looks like one to me. Either way, I wasnt happy over finding it, since Im not a big fan of bugs.Despite the nitpicks, Ameritania is a pretty decent hotel. They have deals going on right now, and I paid $221 just for one night for a single queen sized bed for two people. The location is great, and the hotel itself is really nice, especially the lobby area. The staff was welcoming and seemed nice. Its not perfect, but I recommend it for anyone wanting to stay in the Times Square area.
Let me describe you that this hotel is simply amazing. Compared to the prices, the services provided were almost more than that. The hotel is quite spacious and the room was quite modern and with plenty of services when compared to the prices that we paid for it. The staffs were quite helpful and also understood our concerns and tried to accomodate them as much as they could. Would definitely visit again!
OK...so I know we paid 1000 dollars for 4 nights which is not massively expensive. However, a hotel should have a general standard given the reviews it gets. Lets speak about the best moments- Jeffrey the doorman was outstanding. He was really friendly, showed us the best routes to take on 4 days and was always cheery to see you. The location of this hotel is paramount if you want to be in the centre of NYC with locations to the Time Square, Hells Kitchen and Central Park. You pay for this. The Wifi was very good and free.Yet the standard of the hotel leads a lot to be desired. Drab and dreary from when you enter the elevator. The man on reception was cold and unfriendly. No member of staff showed us the gym, coffee facilities that were free and around the hotel. Surely this is just courtesy? Elevators make funny sounds. The decor needs modernising. The room is very small for what you pay for (although I appreciate we used it as a hub to sleep). Walls were stained. Ceiling showed damp marks. Door handle was broke. The shower leaks all over the floor despite efforts to stop it as no cover. The room just lacked care and attention by the maintenance staff. Cleaning staff were exceptional though. The hotel just needs upgrading and better care throughout. More attention needs to be placed on paying guests and the rooms they stay in. Cannot comment on the food as we did not eat here. I excpected more from this hotel given money we spent. Disappointing element to our stay despite a positive experience.
The “bell boy” was polite and pleasant for the first day ONLY. He gave tips on the shops in the city. For the remainder of the vacation (5 days) , zero personality and almost to a point of being rude. We asked him to book us an airport shuttle for our return, which he said he will do, provided us with a receipt. He repeatedly told us “No problem, no problem, no issue here” Next morning at 4:30 we waited for half hour and ride never came. He never booked it. Extremely unprofessional. Have friends and family traveling to New York soon and will NOT be recommending this hotel. This dude needs to take his happy pills before heading to work. Can’t remember his name... starts with an M
Cant beat the location! Picked up the room last minute, so glad I chose this place. First time in NY, and the concierge helped out me choose a fantastic restaurant to impress the publicist I flew to the city to meet (first impressions are important; they suggested Paesano of Mulberry Street). The room was chic, modern decor, clean, crisp, very satisfactory in every way. Plus, the shower was huge. And wake up call was on time each morning. Cant beat that.
Our first 2 nights there were spend at the hotel. All in all a good hotel in a good location with great transport connections. Every hotel staff was focussed on helping the customer as much as possible. Clean and good value for money. Functional hotel to use as a base for exploring ***hattan.
If you are going to stay here in winter, do not agree to the room 504. It has a problem with bottom part with the window which cause cold in your room - its not isolated at all. Thermostat is not helping well - were keeping it on 26 °C and getting dry air in the room and cold water in the bottle on the table. Even zipper of jeans is cold. When leaving bed for a bit, its getting cold immediately. Hotel stuff didnt help with this. Concierges arent opening the door on time so cant understand their purpose there. But they helped with luggage delivery to our room in the begging.Cleaning service is very good, thank you for this.Location is very nice. On walking distance to sightseeing and nice places to eat.UPD: Engineer came second time and just closed window well. Be aware of such cases - its not visible at all so 2 nights we spent in cold.
Great staff and service. Very clean and the free WiFi at the lobby is fun to use cause you see many others crowding the lobby to use it also. However the rooms were quite noisy and we couldn’t sleep. There were guest partying or yelling in the hallway in the middle of the night for a couple of hours. Complain to the hotel but nothing was done. However, I later found out they were removed from the hotel.Thank you.
Great front desk service, and the building is beautiful. The rooms themselves are pretty small, but serve well for an overnight stay in the city. No free wifi included is kind of a buzzkill.Edit: The AC in our room wasnt working, but the front desk management was able to accommodate us by moving us into a new room. They even offered free drink vouchers to the bar for the trouble. :)
A nice boutique hotel. Very well decorated. The room was small, as in all the hotels in New York, but modern. The only problem was that there was only one night table and plugs, so it was uncomfortable for two people, especially because we spent thirteen days there . Theres free coffee, tea or hot chocolate. The people at the night desk were really helpful, especially Jamid.
We stayed here for 9 nights over Christmas and New Year! The staff were so friendly! A big shoutout to Jeffery the bellman, he was incredible, very friendly, helpful and knowledgable - he gave us some great information and tips to make our experience the best ever. Julian the bellman was also extremely lovely and helpful. Hope was an amazing receptionist, always pleasant, such a sweet kind girl - we wanted to take her home with us!!!These guys really did make our stay more enjoyable. The hotel is situated in a perfect location close to subways, bus links, and everything else you may need and was very very clean. Thank you for having us! See you again! Fordham Family.
The hotel staff is extremely helpful and nice. Go visit the bartender! He is so friendly and helpful as well. When we got there our AC unit didnt work and they had someone up within 10 minutes to fix it. This hotel is close to other bars, just blocks from Time Square and close to major subway lines. The rooms are a little small, but thats NYC and we were never in our room. Great hotel, great service, great people!
Great location right near times square...lovely rooms... very friendly and helpful staff some of the best Ive come across and cant do enough to help you... third time in New York but first time at this hotel and its probably my favourite. Were in the city to get married and the hotel very nicely upgraded our room for us and we have a lovely suite which is amazing and for which we are very grateful!! Would definitely recommend this hotel its been a great find and happy we booked here, thank you Ameritania!
Stayed here in September and even though I have asked them about a quite room, they put me in the 3rd floor where there was a constant noise of some sort of generator turning on and off 24 hours a day. Woke me up constantly at night.I chose this hotel because of the reviews but from what I see I don’t think this hotel is anywhere close to 4 stars. The building seems to be worn out and the amenities such as breakfast area is vacant and to me it looks like they planing to vacate the building.Overall experience was bad 👎👎
My experience with this hotel is quite good. Its location is very good, right in the middle of Manhattan. It is quite clean, and the room was comfortable both for resting and working. The WiFi is good and quick, and they provided ot for free. Guests have the option to have breakfast for $18+ taxes or to get complementary coffee or tea during breakfast time, which kind of compensates for the lack of coffee/ tea facilities inside the rooms. They also offer free water at the lobby. The room has enough towels and the shower is pleasant.
We stayed here for four nights in September and loved it. The location of the hotel was central to everything and the room was very comfortable. All the staff were really pleasant and helpful especially Adam and Jeff, big shout out to them both! Would love to go back and see more of New York, what a fantastic city x
Great hotel in the center, with great service, great location and all you need from a hotel room for that price. Rooms had only minor flaws (rather noisy air conditioner and a somewhat questionable/shaky door lock), but nothing that would affect our stay there too much.
Great place, great price (for down town NY NY). 3 blocks south of Central park and about 7 North of Times square on Broadway. The $160 Expedia price for a room with one king sized bed is around $210 after all the various taxes/fees are applied, but still a lot cheaper than the $400 to $700 places a few blocks away. Be prepared to have the person you are with (unless you are alone) hop out with the bags at the front door since there is no pull-in car area. Parking is no problem, just go East across Broadway and there is a garage immediately on the right. You can get $10 off parking with a Hotel validation stamp ($40/24 hours). The rooms here were just as depicted on the web site (cozy). No room coffee, but then it is usually swill anyway. Coffee is in the lobby and is pretty good. Not a great selection of TV stations, but hey, youre in New York, go see a play! No breakfast included, but there is a spanking good place a couple of blocks North on the West side of Broadway. This hotel is just around the corner from the old Ed Sullivan theater.
My boyfriend and I had a fantastic experience here. We were in walking distance of Times Square, Central Park, Broadway shows and everything in between. Our room was clean and surprisingly quiet! The staff was very friendly and helpful, and they even provided us with a free upgrade to a larger room. We will definitely stay here for all of our future NYC trips!
We had a nice stay here, very convenient and central for mid-town NY. They provide coffee and tea in the lobby in the mornings, and some refreshments in the afternoon. Only downside is no ramp up the stairs at the entrance, which made it a bit more awkward with a kids stroller/pram.
Very average. Hallways inside are very tired and the door to our room did not close properly. The room itself is nicely decorated with a great bed and lovely sheets. Air con works well. The room faced towards the street and was incredibly loud - we stayed for 3 nights and were woken each night 4 or 5 times due to sirens.Surprisingly, WiFi is also not complimentary and so I paid $35 for the premium WiFi package which lasts 3 days and is only able to be used on 2 devices. The WiFi didn’t even work once I had paid for it and so I had to ring the reception desk several times - they told me they were ‘experiencing problems’ and would restart the router shortly. This carried on for the duration of our 3 day stay, and I wasn’t even able to check into our flight online. The lobby area was so busy when we arrived and took us over 45 minutes of waiting before we were checked into our room - the longest I’ve ever had to wait to check into a hotel!Overall, the location is nice and central and we were able to walk to many places we wanted with a clean, nice but noisy room to come back to.
I stayed here one night after staying at a higher rated hotel for the previous three nights (I combined a business and personal trip).I liked the room layout of this hotel better as you have a bedroom and then a separate living room with couch, chairs, coffee table, TV etc. There is also a TV in the bedroom. There is a waterfall shower with excellent pressure. The location is great as its close to times square and the subway, so easy to walk around the sites or jump on the train. Its also very easy to get to from JFK airport, just take the air train and then the E train and it takes a little over and hour.Given the choice between this hotel and he one is stayed in before it (which cost $150 more a night) I would stay here.
Perfect location (in between Time Square and Central Park), modern design, room is small but didnt bother us much. Had free water in the lobby but we could not find the free coffee that was supposed to be provided as well. The staff were very friendly. A great experience overall for the price!
My fiancé and I were excited to take a nap in the hotel after a long day of traveling. When we got into the hotel room it was hot and muggy. The temperature controls weren’t on. We called downstairs to the staff, and went down there, and called again, until eventually 30-40 minutes later someone came into the room to fix it. When he came in he said (condescendingly), “Well it’s not working because you didn’t plug the AC in” as if we were supposed to plug it in or know that it wasn’t plugged in. He asked what temperature we wanted the AC at and my fiancé said “68 is good.” And the guy said, “Okay, but you know it’s not gonna get that low, right?” Just a rude response. And the AC did get the room to that temperature. After he left we took a nap and heard about 8-10 doors slam from the hotel staff. They were cleaning the rooms on our floor, but literally SLAMMING each door shut and yelling at each other whenever they needed to communicate. I’m a heavy sleeper but I kept waking up after every door slam and shouting. We went to sleep later that night and got woken up at 6 in the morning because the alarm clock was set for some reason. My fiancé shut it off and then half an hour later it went off AGAIN. You’d think that the hotel staff would check to make sure the alarm clocks weren’t still set from the last person that stayed in the room, or check to make sure the AC is plugged in. Also, the toilet kept making noises every few minutes if someone flushed in a room nearby. We had to keep the bathroom shut. The people at the front desk were really nice when we told them about our stay, but it was just one thing after another. They also hold $100 from your card in case the room is damaged, and then reimburse the card the next day. That wasn’t clear on the website. I wouldn’t recommend it.
Very expensive for what is offered. Good location though. Bed was tilted at an angle and not comfortable. The AC was not easy to use. No tubs, only modern showers with no shower door (gets cold easily).Elevators were very slow, even with all 3 working. Lighting in room was poor if you needed to use the desk.
A hidden gem of a hotel, tucked around the corner from the Ed Sullivan Theatre where The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is now taped, was the perfect spot for us to stay. Located minutes from Central Park and Times Square, you will have tons of restaurants and shops to choose from. The staff was helpful with recommendations on highlights close by and on the many restaurants in the vicinity. The rooms were clean, comfortable and bigger than We expected. We loved the walk-in tiled shower! We will definitely stay here again!
Was originally placed in a tiny room the size of Harry Potters cuboard under the stairs. Went and talked to Rob at the front desk who felt our pain and hooked us up with a sweet double. Room was spacious and so was the bathroom. Beds were wicked comfortable. Location was excellent, steps away from Central Park and the theatre district. Definitely recommend if youre staying in one of the double rooms.
We went on the day right before new years eve and found out that we had reserved the wrong date, and the actual reservation was a month later, they still gave us the last remaining double bed room (the type we wanted) for the same rate of our reservation. The service was great, the breakfast was great and the room was great. Absolutely fantastic.
This is a nice hotel. Restaurants all around and in close proximity to several subway stops. The bar downstairs is nice, and the lobby is welcoming. The outside of the hotel is hard to see at first, so I passed it when I first arrived - but no biggie. You also have to log into the wifi after everytime you close and shut down your computer - again, no biggie.Id definitely stay again.
Stayed here in May. Great location steps away from the hustle bustle of times square. The front desk people were kind and helpful. The rooms were clean and well maintained. The parking garage across the street was convenient and offered a discount to hotel guests. Overall great experience.
First time in NYC and I stayed here. I found the staff extremely helpful and professional as well as nice. I loved the room and enjoyed the view as well. I will be staying here in the future as well as recommending to others. Thank you for helping to make my trip fabulous!
Omg....loved this hotel. Quiet, clean and quite roomy. Bathroom was roomy and updated. I was upgraded to a king size room and loved it. The front desk was so friendly and accommodating. I will definitely stay there again. Great area right off Broadway. Thank you Ameritania.
Id probably award this hotel 4.5 stars instead of 4 and you will see why that is later on in this review. I think this is a great hotel. The staff there are very friendly and are committed to customer service. This was evident in an issue that was resolved by the manager in an expeditious manner. I also found that the guest service agents were welcoming and friendly. The hotel is very clean which was very important in my decision to stay at this hotel. Sometimes its extremely difficult to find clean affordable accommodations in the big cities. My only gripe is that that there are no coffee machines in the rooms. I had a peanut allergy reaction to food that I had purchased at Cascades. I had to get up at 4am in the morning to buy ginger ale at the Subway restaurant as there was nothing to boil water in my room to make tea. The hotel is in a very noisy area of Manhattan but luckily each hotel room has ear plugs for their guests. I used them the second and third night that I stayed at this hotel. I will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in Manhattan and close to the theatre district. Its affordable, clean and the hotel management/ and other staff are friendly.
NYC Excellent HotelThis was our second stay at Aneritania Hotel and we were not disappointed. Yes, rooms are smaller but this is NYC and the staff of this hotel makes up for some of the minor things. We always feel at home and welcome at this hotel. They call themselves a concierge and they live up to those words; when we need hot water or a tea kettle it was delivered pronto! The rooms are nicely decorated and the bathrooms have updated showers and are clean and well appointed. The hotel is convenient to Theatre District, Great restaurants, Central Park. After checking out and finding our flight had been cancelled we were welcomed back by Matt (Front desk manager). Not only did Matt find us a room in the booked hotel he sent up a bottle of wine to ease our stress!! I bellmen Jeffrey and Hugo and friendly and welcome you back each time you come and go! We were so impressed with the service at this hotel and the dedication of staff to each guest!! They arranged for a private car service to LGA for almost no more than a taxi! I would put this hotel up against several 4 star hotels in the area that we have stayed at before!! ! FIRST RATE SERVICE!
The hotel was really nice. The bellmen were great. However, the customer service was extremely poor at the bar. The front desk told us drinks were 2 for 1 and then the bartender (Javier) wouldnt honor it. It became quite the fiasco. He was very rude and tried to upcharge us on everything and made a scene in front of everyone else at the bar.
Stay was good maybe price is little bit high but location is great and hotel is clean. I just want to let you know that you have to be careful about standart express room which is facing inside. We stayed in this room in first night and it was just like a warehouse with 10 sqm size. Next day they move us to another standart express room with street view and it was fine.
I had a reservation for my birthday February 3rd as I arrived from a flight at 9.42 pm and was greeted by a staff member not so delightful. He never made eye contacted , he talked towards the desk. He also spoke with aggressive manner. Not what your first impression of a hotel visit should be . Especially since I am a paying guest. Honestly the rest of the staff was great , aside from this rude Guest clerk.
The location is great. Just a short walk from Central Park. Times square and all the shops. The hotel is nice and updated style. They only have showers though. They changed our room at last minute to give us a better experience but did not let us know so we were surprised.
Great Hotel, Really good location just a few blocks up from Times Square. We stayed in a deluxe king room, plenty of space, closet to hang clothes and reasonable set of drawers. Walk in shower, no bath. Lovely comfy beds and found the hotel quiet considering you are in the middle of NYC. Air conditioned room, which was cleaned daily. Safe in the room, and mini bar, sweets and drinks although these are definitely overpriced. Free tea and coffee of a morning in the bar area, also free fruit drink and hot water available all day. Great service from the staff, especially door staff Jeff and Julian who always had a smile.Good deli (cascade Cafe) on 54th & 8th just on the corner of the same block the hotel is on, great for breakfast.Subway stations close by, we used the E train to get down to the trade center and also found it easier to return to JFK via the E train and the on to the air train at Sutphin station, approx 8 dollars and from hotel to terminal in just over 1 hour. Subways although daunting at first are really easy to use once you get the hang of them!Could not fault the hotel and for the price we really couldnt have done any better. look forward to going back again soon.
From the start, I had a bad experience with this hotel. We were told that they had a parking garage that they were affiliated with, but not that there were two of the same garages a block away from each other, so we went to the wrong one, costing me an extra $30. The room was so small that the door couldnt open all of the way, due to the bed frame being in the way. The bed frame was too big for the mattress and was the same color as the carpet, leading both of us to stub our toes multiple times during our one night stay. The thermostat on the heater/ac did not work at all, causing us to sleep with the window open in January. There was an outlet in one of the lamps that was no longer attached to the lamp, so I could pull it right out. The service elevator was right across from my room, and it was accessible to me instead of being locked for everyone but staff. I was charged a $100 security deposit without being told about it(which I still have not gotten back 3 days later). The Wi-Fi is free in the lobby for anyone off the street, but if you pay for a room, it will cost you $10/device! They charge $18/person for a continental breakfast. I walked 5 blocks away and got a full Irish breakfast with a mimosa included for $15!! Oh, and if youre planning on killing yourself, this is the place, as there are no screens in the windows and they open quite wide! The location was wonderful, but i would definitely never stay here again!!
Double rooms are too small for 2 people, not enough space for another suitcase. In room 1002 no light in the bathroom, only mirror lighting, but you can switch it only with terrible noise of a ventilation, same button, that was so loud. The bathroom door could only close with huge amount of power, probably if the wood too old. In general Great location, round the corner Times square!
Rooms were cozy and comfortable, and I loved that the maids kept us stocked on all the tiny toiletries we would ever need. Bartender downstairs makes AWESOME martinis. My only negative comment is the $10/day breakfast that doesnt have any real protein options. I would recommend avoiding that option.
Had problems with our AirBnB and needed last minute reservations. This hotel had a surprising affordable rate and even upgraded us no charge for an overbooking error. Room was very comfortable. Hotel was in a great location, only 8 minute walk from Times Square. Loved it.
I give 3* for the employees who are really kind and available. I do not have personnally had a good experience. Breakfast is not included. I did not like the bed, not hard enough (my friend liked it so it depends ). Rooms are really small. Not possibility to do a tea on your room. .no tools for that. .. well...
Stayed for a week, good breakfasts, great location right by the subway or Times Square. Housekeeping was very friendly and thourough. Jeffrey at the front was awesome, always good to have a conversation with or smile as you walk by. it’s the little things on a vacation to such a big city that really make the stay great, and little things like holding the door like Jeff did the majority of days we walked out in the morning made me feel ready for the day. Thank you Jeff, and thank you the whole staff.
We had a room with two beds. Very few outlets. You had to pay 10 dollars for two devices for one night for wifi, which to me is rediculous. Their website was down so you couldnt even buy it. No free breakfasts. Room had a fridge but no luggage stand. The shower was nice but had no bathtub. Bed frame was large and I stubbed my toe on it multiple times.
Great location only 10 minutes from Central Park, Theatre District and Times Square. Rooms and service is very good, especially considering the reasonable price for a midtown hotel. The lobby, restaurant/breakfast area and bar area are very nicely decorated in a modern style. Highly recommended for a short stay to explore NY city.
At first I was a little nervous about this hotel, because we have an 18 month old and I wasnt sure if they were going to be able to accommodate him, but I was totally wrong! They brought a crib up to our room 5 minutes after we checked in and a little fridge so I could keep his milk cold. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom was so roomy that we were able to put the crib in there so we wouldnt disturb him while he was sleeping. The shower was amazing! The location was so perfect. It was close to everything! Youre only blocks away from radio city, times square, broadway shows, rockefeller plaza, central park, the list goes on and on. The staff was super pleasant and very friendly. They even kept our bags for free after we checked out so that we could play around in the city before we had to leave. This hotel was great!
This little hotel was updated and nice on the inside and in the room we had. 310. The street noise is unavoidable unless your paying to be on a 4th floor somewhere. Beds were ok and the sheets felt nice. We had the heater on 74 and I was comfortable sleeping. Cool modern decor and vibe. Only had 30 cable channels to flip thru when we were relaxing before bed. Staff behind the counter needs etiquette training, but the door and bellman staff were superb. We will stay again if we come to this area.
The lobby and shared parts of the hotel have an interesting style, not full classy but it has a fresh, modern look with a zest of kitch.Decently sized room given its NYC. I loved my bed which was very comfortable. Being just a few blocks away from Broadway and Times Square enhanced my experience.I was there during hot sommer days - and was happy that the (noisy though) aircon worked perfectly.Per se having free wifi in the lobby is a rather good idea, however as a consequence lots of people do stay/sit there, which on top of the ones checking in and out can make the place crowdy.Ill definitely consider this hotel next time Im in town. Had very little interaction with the staff there, reason why I cant rate it anything else than average.
Deluxe king room was very comfortable and spacious, considering its located in NYC. Great location and the staff is very polite. They were a bit disorganized during check-in, probably because it was a holiday weekend and they werent expecting so many people to show up at once. I got my room at 3:30 instead of 3, which was a little disappointing but not a huge deal. Had a great time.
Great location in the theatre district and just a few blocks from all the Times Square action but not so close that the noise and lights would keep you up all night. The room was a little small, but to be expected in New York. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable so it was perfect for a quick one night stay.
Fast check in. The reviews saying the rooms are clean and small are correct. I would add that the decor is very modern. We have ZERO view on our side at the 6th floor, but its NY, what you gonna do? Lol A couple of complimentary fiji waters... Great, comfortable place to stay.
Never heard of this place. Stayed there one night and was blown away by the customer service! The room was large (by NYC standards) and the bed was comfortable. Bathroom was recently remodeled and the walk-in shower, with rain head & wand, was great! We WILL come back to Ameritania!
Unless you like being crammed into a closet and treated with a condescending attitude during check in, stay away from this hotel! My room was less than 150 square feet with no space to walk or place a suitcase. Everything from the hallway on the 6th floor smelling like marijuana, to the door knob being broken in my room, to no ice machine on the floors, and no view but one of garbage cans. I wish I could give this motel 0 stars. I will never be back here and will ruin this reputation with everyone I speak to about NY. New management, new staff, new everything. STAY AWAY AND SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE!!!

2022-06-23Make sure to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking your room. This site will compare countless booking web sites and usually will have prices a lot cheaper compared to others! Thank me later! This resort is the best rated in the area. Ive been staying here for years. If you stay for a few days you definitely wont be disappointed. The staff were great and the room was good. I know during covid times they are lacking a bit such limited services with rooms and no food or drink unless you order room service (which I did not). The location was good to all the theaters. The only down fall, I did not see any handicap accessibility. I am sure there was but I did not see it so if it is a concern, I would contact the hotel.FYI, the garage parking was very close and you do get a discount from the hotel for parking fees. You will need to connect with the front desk before collecting your vehicle.

2022-05-02Amazing location!! We were so close to a ton of things we wanted to see and eat and there were a lot of quick bites, coffee shops and drugstores really close by.The room was comfortable, small but we didnt mind as we were out most of the day. I loved the waterfall shower and the plush bed. We had trouble with the thermostat, it was very hard to keep the room at a comfortable temp, and it fluctuated between too warm and too cold. If youre staying longer than a week I would not recommend, the room is too small to keep everything organized if you bring more than one suitcase.

2022-01-07This is my second time staying in this hotel, I just love the location. Its close to times square, central park, or 5th Avenue. The room is cozy and has everything I needed for my stay. Showers work perfectly fine hot water all time and I enjoy that little office next to my bed. In the lobby, check-in is pretty easy but keep in mind they check-in only at 3 pm. Only one negative this hotel has only the small gym but I was fine because two buildings next to is crunch so I joined a gym for a week. I will recommend trying to stay in this hotel because it has something unique stay for me.

2022-01-18The staff were great and the room was good.

2022-04-07Great location close to time square, Columbus circle, central park and several subway stations to get you where you need to go.Many bars and restaurants close by as wellOur King-size Deluxe room was spacious while reasonably priced considering the area. The room was clean and nicely designed.Room service and breakfast is handled though and external butler service which you can order and have food or convenience items delivered to your door. Prices for that are on the higher end.Considering the many food options with a couple of yards, I had no need to try that service.Check-in and Check-out was ok but oddly uncoordinated. Checkout times were only available on demand and not included in any of the email notifications to confirm booking or check-in.

2022-04-14We stayed at the Ameritania the weekend before Christmas. It was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and accommodating- any time we needed a taxi, the bellhops would go out and get us what we needed within minutes. The location is also great. I will absolutely stay there again when I visit again!

2022-01-06Positive: We couldnt have been more pleased with the hotel. At check-in the attendant put us in a room with a view, which was a corner room with views to the north and east. Great location, nice people, clean and modern room, wifi. Two thumbs up! Negative: Only the rate and fees, but its Manhattan and we expected it.

2022-01-25The Ameritania is the hotel to stay at if you really want a New York City feel. Most hotels have a generic feeling but the Ameritania rooms feel warm, comfortable and unique. The staff was pleasant and helpful, the bed was comfortable enough that I did not want to get out of it and the shower is spacious and consistently hot. The only critique I have is that the room details could use a little maintenance.Absolutely lovely hotel with 2-3 minute walks to many common tourist attractions including all of Times Square, Central Park and Rockefeller Center.

2022-05-30My mom and I stayed at the Ameritania for our 5 day trip to New York this May. We chose this hotel because the price was incredibly reasonable for the location. The location could not be beat. It was an easy walk to Central Park, Time Square, and Rockefeller Center. We also walked to the High Line and Greenwich (although those were more of a walk). There is a bar, restaurant, bagel shop, pharmacy, a 99cent pizza place, and little grocery store, within a block of the hotel, too. The staff were all very pleasant, especially Salah. Our room was actually large for New York standards. We were in a 2 double bed room and had tons of room to maneuver. Not much counter space in the bathroom, but a huge table and 2 chairs in the bedroom provided plenty of space. We had some troubles with the safe the night we arrived, but they sent up a staff member to fix it (by this time it was past midnight!) We appreciated the mini fridge and it worked very well (sometimes those little fridges hardly get cold). They provided 2 bottles of water, and a huge umbrella. The shower was huge and had an amazing rain shower head, and a handheld sprayer. It was 35 degrees Celsius when we were there, but our room stayed nice and cool the whole time. The only thing we would have loved, was a little coffee maker in our room, or even a coffee maker in the lobby. The next time we are in New York, we will be staying at this hotel. We also won’t hesitate to recommend this hotel to others. Thanks for the amazing stay!
