The alarm at my business was going off and no one knew why. I called Amherst Alarm up and they told me my battery was low. They then took the time out to teach me how to replace the battery and set aside a new battery to be ready for me to pick up. The woman working the front desk was so kind, and she knew exactly what I was talking about as soon as I walked in. Had everything replaced within an hour of calling them up! Such a fantastic experience!
We had Amherst Alarm install a magnetic lock system at our office and they were professional, friendly and willing to answer all our questions. They were courteous in our office and got the job done quick and efficiently!
We have a Beam central vac and we’re having problems with the plug end of the hose burning the contacts enabling the power head. We went back where we bought it and they had no solution, but charged me for the new part to replace in the end of the hose. That would last only a few times using it. They got the manufacture involved and they replaced the in tire hose for free, but that didn’t work either. So we bought a new upright vacuum and used for a year when we went to the Buffalo Home Show and talked to Tony one of the salesman and he set up an appointment. The technician from Amherst Alarm came to the house and within minutes had the problem solved. I would highly recommend this company to do work for me. Friendly, polite, knowledgeable just all around good people.
I bought a new business in Buffalo in September 2018. Amherst Alarm Inc. is already servicing the business. I have since added many new features and services to my alarm and security system. Amherst Alarm Inc. has been with me all the way. Both my sales person, Barb, and my technology wizard, Dan, our fabulous to work with. I feel like they have my back!
We bought a house that was alarmed through Amherst alarm. We have called and updated our information when we first moved in about 3 months ago.Despite this fact, every time we call they still have the old homeowners information in the system. We have asked them to change the name on the account and re-provided our info about 8 times now. We have had sales representatives come out to the house and they still call us by the old homeowners name.Today they called the old homeowner asking if he would like to update the system - Despite having his information removed from the account multiple times.This company is so flawed, if they can’t even get our information correct in their system, how are they supposed to provide proper alarm services?Even though our house is all set up with their sensors, we will be getting a new system installed through another company. My advice - don’t get an Amherst Alarm.
Service tech (Jesse) was very informative and not only fixed the issue with our alarm system, he also recommended features that we could enable that were very helpful. Overall it was a great experience!
The sales person Jeff has to be the nicest sales person I have interacted with. I have had two alarm systems installed and one alarm upgarde done by Amherst Alarm. I have been an Amherst Alarm customer for the last 8 years and have always experienced timely professional behavior.
Merritt Long went above and beyond. He was pleasent, professional and proactive in all my dealings with him.I would recommend Amherst Alarm to all.
All appointments were kept in a timely manner. They were preceded by a phone call to alert us. The installers were Robb and a helper (name?),both being curteous and efficient. The next day we received instruction and set up of code from Tony S. who was efficient, friendly, and knowledgeable.The whole experience was 5 star.
Zach was prompt, called to let me know he was on the way, professional and personable! He explained everything he was going to do before he did it, explained what he was doing as he did it, and walked me through everything when he was done. He was also very respectful of my house, pets and property. A PERFECT tech/service provider!
Ive used Amherst Alarm for 20 years for alarm system and central vacuum..Ive never once been dissatisfied with any work theyve ever done. Use them - you wont be disappointed.
From start, through installation and teaching how to utilize the system, Amherst Alarm was professional. I especially appreciated Joe Z. and his friendly advice and assistance!
Jeff the tech was excellent. Took care of issue.also did appropriate updates. Excellent service. Dave Charvat called back with the info.i requested.
David arrived on time....calling as he was on the way. He was very helpful in teaching my sister how to change batteries and check the workings of our alarm system.
I highly recommend Amherst alarm! They’re very professional and have great customer service! Jessie showed up early and was able to fix the two minor issues I was having quickly.

My alarm was not on for more than 6 months in the office by the employees and not one time alarm company reached out to say if alarm is broken or what is the problem . They did not credit the account either.Sales team are in no rush to sell you anything , and anything you ask , they have to find out .Never follow through to help you improve your system . The alarm system is very old technology with no changes for 15 years.House alarm beeps at night and wake you up once a month. Very old technology.We are looking to get a new company as we say.

The experience with Tony and his installation crew was easy, fast, and very thorough. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience or equipment.
Beware of shoddy installation. Furnace alarm was NEVER installed properly. When the furnace failed, we were NEVER notified. Pipes burst when we turned the water on. $250. Disclaimer on back of contract for negligence.
I called Amhest Alarm and they were here within a week to activate my system. They are extremely reasonably priced and great customer care!
Spoke on the phone with Peter, was extremely helpful and professional. I called in knowing almost nothing and felt well educated by the time i hung up the phone! 5/5
Zach, our tech did an awesome job couldn’t be happier with the service!
Their dispatcher called me when I accidently opened the door before disarming my alarm. It put me at ease to know that they are there for me when I need them, even when everything is ok!

2022-08-19I moved into a house with an inactive Amherst Alarm system and needed to identify wiring during a renovation project that was still linked to my fire/CO protection on the unmonitored system. I offered to pay any extra service fee to have them come out but they refused since the system was not activated. I offered to activate the account so that they could assist and they passed me to sales people who never returned my call. Horrible customer service. Looks like I’ll just rip out the old system and start fresh with a different company.

2020-12-31Zach provided us with service that was way above and beyond. Other service people would not do what he did. He made sure that when he left all our problems were addressed and we are grateful for him. No short cuts or its not my job. He fixed what we needed fixed and it was done professionally, perfectly, and neatly. Zach respected us and we have great respect for him. Also, I had service by the same company for a different issue and, again, excellent service was provided. You cant miss with Amherst Alarm.

2020-04-30I have been a client of Amherst Alarm for almost 25 years. They installed my original system and a few upgrades over the years. They are always respectful of my needs and dont try to sell me things I dont need. Technicians are knowledgeable and tidy about their work. I live on the border of two towns and the city, and it is a comfort to know they are local, and can appropriately dispatch the correct services when needed. Do not hesitate to engage their services, after all this time I still think they are the best at what they do!
