I am currently in California and I called Amherst Police Department to report Olivia who works at CSJ Consulting in Amherst New York which is supposed to be a collections agency and the police department never even picked up. Anyone out there that get calls from CSJ Consulting they are a fluke. Very illegal activity. Can you even believe when I asked the Rep what did FDCPA stood for she told me FTC which was astonishing to me. Very comical. So anyone out there help report CSJ Consulting to the Amherst Police Department. Amherst Police Department if you can read this go after this place they are troubling good citizens. So chase the bad guys.
Someone from the area has been calling in a harassing fashion trying to obtain personal/sensitive information. Tried to call to get info on what I can do to follow up as the individuals have also been impersonating the police. The female individual who answered was rude and curt and begins cutting me off as Im talking. I asked her name she says Badge 616... Ill be following up with my local police dept.

Amherst cops are useless, they dont do nothing but writing people tickets. i got pulled over and got a ticket for disobeying ticket device because i was driving close to the bike lane. Amherst cops are useless and worthless.
Only giving one star because I have to pick something. It would be zero. Called to report a completely reckless driver but was cut off before I even was able to say much because not our town, not our problem and they wonder why people dont like or trust police. You guys are good for nothing.
Keep up the good work, you guys keep the streets safe. You get underappreciated for your work and dedication to keeping us all safe. You probably already know this but half of these people who say youre terrible is because they break the law and want to just believe that they are in the right, because its societys fault never theirs.
Almost all my encounters with the Amherst Police have been quick and professional with me. Even though there was one occasion where one of the officers seemed upset for some reason, it was completely understandable.
Officers are super nice and helpful. I have had nothing but positive experiences with them.
They don’t help out at all.

2018-09-22Amherst doesn’t need police, it needs Traffic agents directing traffic because that’s what Amherst police is: glorified traffic agents. These guys have nothing to do so they stop people illegally for no good reason at all.In nyc I drove over 10 years and was stopped zero times. Here in less than a month, I get pulled over because I was not “properly” in my lane. I consider myself a good driver because of my good driving history. Amherst in less than a month erased 10 years of good driving made me feel like I don’t know how to drive. How is that fair?It’s not that I’m a bad driver, it’s that Amherst police are bad police. My advice, unless there is a actual traffic infraction, do not stop and harass people. If Amherst is so worried about traffic invest in traffic agents, boots on the ground, more lights less stop signs, etc. everyone knows traffic isn’t the issue. It’s crime! Half of these police officers never even seen a criminal and that’s why they harass and stop ordinary people going about their business.I’m sorry if anyone thinks I’m being harsh. The truth is police should exist to help good people not harass them because they don’t have anything to do.

2019-02-10They will do nothing but waste your time, and find a way to do so. Was driving back from my fathers on an average night after spending some time with him, just to pass by an Amherst cop going well below the speed limit. I continued on my way for him to follow me the next 5 minutes (hes trying to find any reason to pull me over). Finally puts the lights on, and tells me that my license plate is too dirty? So instead of telling me to clean it, or simply warn me, he spends the next 15 minutes writing me a ticket. Really protecting the streets from criminals, huh? Amherst police are pathetic wastes of space that need to get real jobs. Complete waste of time

2017-10-10Way too many police with nothing to do, so I’m they hassle people for anything and everything. These are the type of cops that enjoy writing tickets. Amherst police love targeting young people and minorities. Stay away from Amherst if you do want your civil rights shat on. This police department is the exact reason Americans have lost faith in the justice system.

2017-11-12All the police officers has nothing better to do than giving people ticket. The officer was rude and inpolite. He talk rasices to me and throw and damaged my property. They have nothing better to do. Even the higher officer is defending themselves, not thinking in other shoes. Reject to provide help to the citizen. All these polices should go back to and learn again. You are really disappointed Amherst police.

2015-09-29The police department mission statement is to perserve a ranking what a wonderful thing. I was pulled over today just becasue I had window tints, which I have never been pulled over for before anywhwere else in New York state. I feel like the po;lice officers have nothing better to do than to juast pull over people and give them bullshit tickets. I feel like an appropriote course of action would be to cut funding to the police department to the point where the officers are back to being a productive unit in saftey matters. This police department is a prime example of why the community does not like their police officers and department, the police officers spend their time writing tickets instead of finding way to better heklp the community and I feel as tough this is a huge issue with law enforcment as a whole. Shame on you Amherst police department for not looking to better the community when there is no crime, and instead spending your time writing tickets. You are the problem!

2018-12-07While my son was hospitalized(emergency) his X that promised me she would be sure his belongings were taken care of. Well the Amherst Police told her she could have his car towed. Well they dumped it in a store parking lot and what she did with keys who knows. So car was not locked and hoping all his belongings are still there. Also she was to meet him yesterday so he could get his drum set and she never showed. His address was at her residence and he should have been given 30 days to get his belongings.

2017-01-10Corrupt cops, judges, District Attorneys & Prosecutors. They strictly go after minorities and those of color. They need to be investigated by the FBI and US Government. Hire an attorney and never settle for the reduced parking tickets, hiring an attorney is cheaper and then and only then will you have any real justice. Amherst is a clear indicator of whats wrong with America.

2017-01-30Know these words you are about to see are coming from a freshman in high school. This police department will be my future and they have done many things that benefit me and my family. For example, remember that near that was spotted in amherst? That happened in my backyard. They did everything they could to help me and my family. From that day forward, I made an oath to myself... I will not only help myself, but help and be kind to others around me by becoming an officer at the Amherst Police Department. I have some neighbors as well. They are well known in the Police department, and they are like family. Thank you... So much Amherst Police Ny for doing your job to put others before you.

2016-05-28Racist Police. No one is above the law. I see most white people talking on phone, even some police officers in car. I have never seen any cop pulling over a person talking on phone. Second, a cop with car number 104, stopped at red light on Millersport and Sheridan intersection and then instead of waiting for green light he stepped on the gas and drove on. Approx. speed 45+ mph. Third, a police officer with car number 103 on sheridan drive was driving his car at 55 mph. Clearly speed limit says 45 mph. I was going around 48 mph (seen through car speed display) I was able to approx the speed of this officer from the distance he was gaining and by the speed he was passing the other vehicles by.So its ok for police officers to run red lights, talk on phone, and speed while normal civilians receive penalties. This is not FAIR. either law enforcements should follow the no one is above the law policy, or let civilians talk on the phone, run on red lights, and speed. It should be same for all.And as for the person who wrote previous review. My family member received ticket for not stopping properly on a stop sign. My family member (anonymous) clearly stopped and then proceeded when no one was coming (clarence area). I checked online and saw the officers have quota: number of tickets that they have to give per month. hence they pull over people for no reason and give them tickets.
